Aftercare 101 with Scarlet Radiance
Scarlet Radiance let out a soft sigh as she leaned back in her chair. Her eyes slowly scanned over the blank piece of paper. She had been told she needed to make a lesson plan – but the piece of paper was still blank. Kicking her hooves up on the desk, Scarlet looked at the ceiling. Slowly she spread her large wings, stretching out with a long, drawn-out yawn. A glance up at the clock told her that she only had ten minutes before class.
It was almost seven in the evening and her first class of the night would start soon. “Looks like we’re winging it again, Emerald.” She said, looking fondly down at the Kindlesprite who sat casually on her PipSub.
The tiny, ethereal mare with an emerald mane and dusky coat leaned back on her fore hooves while her hinds were crossed. “Mistress, I have to point out that breaking regulations is only going to get you into trouble.” Emerald chimed in.
“What can I write down about aftercare?”
“You could note that you are giving a practical demonstration? With a willing mare from the slave pens?” The sprite noted, rolling her eyes. “Maybe how you will be giving the presentation under the watchful eye of a Den Mother?”
“Aren’t you being cheeky today?” Scarlet asked with a roll of her eyes. She stood up from her chair, shaking her head. “This doesn’t need a lesson plan. I’ll write it after we’re done, as usual.” She scooped up her PipSub with the Kindlesprite balancing on top of it. A Kindlesprite who was blowing a raspberry at her the moment they came face-to-face. “Do I need to spank you again?”
“Maybe?” Emerald smirked.
The smirk quickly faded as Emerald found herself bent over the PipSub, her flank being vigorously assaulted by a single, powerful feather. Scarlet didn’t even stop walking from the small side room while she dealt out the sassy mare’s punishment. She didn’t even stop upon seeing that the first students were already present and seated in her lecture hall while others were still filtering in. This was exactly the kind of introduction she liked to provide newbies.
“Good evening, I am Scarlet Radiance and I will be your teacher for tonight.” she announced as they took their seats.
“Eep! Mistress! Please have mercy!” the little Kindlesprite cried out with a mixture of pain and pleasure, although there was obviously a lot more of the latter than the former in her squeaking voice.
Scarlet smirked, placing Emerald on the lectern with a wink at the pouting mare. Standing tall, Scarlet spread her wings and showed off how much bigger than the average mare she was. “I have only three rules in my class: don’t fuck with me, pay attention, and if I catch any of you clopping, you will give a live demonstration while I lash you with a ruler. If you find this hard to believe, well…” She smirked and motioned with her wing toward Emerald.
“Mistress Scarlet has made an example of…” She paused for dramatic effect, and to retrieve a scroll from thin air. Unrolling it, she slipped on a pair of reading glasses. “Thirty five students in the past week.” She smirked, and continued reading, “She has also groped, rutted, clopped, bound, denied orgasms to, whipped, branded, and lashed seventy students in the past week for her own entertainment and to get off.” The recitation was quickly followed by a loud squeak of pained pleasure as the cheeky little Kindlesprite was lashed across her flank with a wing.
“I will deal with you later.” Scarlet said with a dismissive wave to Emerald.
Smiling sweetly, Scarlet allowed her eyes to wander over the collected ponies. There were quite a few dominant and submissive couples present. Some she recognised very well, some were dominants with new slaves or switches with a first timer – at least according to the roster she had been provided by the administration. She was pleased to see some returning ponies wearing either their masks or collars. Scanning over the present crowd, she noted the ponies who were not wearing collars – they were off limits for her more… fun ways of education. But there were a few outlier couples that she noticed were both new to her classes. First and foremost, though, there was the rather adorable changeling sitting in the front row. Scarlet liked her teal mane and the pair of cute, thick-rimmed glasses she was wearing – though she doubted they were for anything more than looking pretty. It wasn’t hard to recognise her as Silent Whisper – one of the newer Den Mothers.
Further in the back she spotted the mare she had been warned about. It was hard to miss Twilight Sparkle, since she was a little taller than most ponies with a bright lilac coat. The Princess had two notebooks floating around her with quills ready. Scarlet let out an internal sigh at that. Somepony needed to sit that mare down to explain to her that this was nothing like being a student in magic.
Shaking her head slightly, she took her ruler and smashed it on the top of her desk to recapture their attention. “As you might have already been informed, this class is a practical lesson in aftercare. We will be joined shortly by the lovely LoLo June who will be accompanying a submissive from the slave pens all the way here. Now, who here can tell me what aftercare entails?” Scarlet asked with a reassuring smile. She remained standing beside the lectern rather than behind it, keeping her voice level but raised just enough to be heard by everypony in attendance.
A purple hoof shot up from the in the back of the crowd. “Yes, Miss Sparkle?” Scarlet motioned with a wing for the mare to rise as she addressed the class. She slowly prowled across the classroom, smiling gently as she did so – a gentle smile that was offset by her circling Twilight like an apex predator ready to pounce. She remained silent and watched as the mare stood up, stared straight ahead and started to explain.
“Aftercare is, from the root words used, care given after a BDSM session. It is the processes through which a dominant helps their submissive recover from…“ Twilight faltered for a moment, watching from the corner of her eye as her teacher lashed a random student across her flank with a ruler, coaxing out a sweet cry of pleasure from the mare. Scarlet smirked at Twilight’s obvious secondhand embarrassment. She was not going to make this easy on her.
She was about to comment when Twilight continued. ”…the intense emotions of such a session as well as tending to any physical injuries that occurred and ensure the submissive’s health and safety. This period can also be used for the Dominant to receive the same emotional care from their submiss–EEP!” Twilight suddenly squeaked out. Scarlet smirked playfully, it had only been a light and gentle caress to her flank, yet the adorable response was quite intoxicating. Soft and gentle, the expert grope of a dominant mare who knew how to make a submissive mare squirm.
She motioned for Twilight to continue. ”–if needed, as both parties undergo very intense emotions and may require comfort as the hormones and endorphins caused by the session are purged from the body. This period is also important for the maintaining of trust between a submissive and their dominant as it reinforces that whatever activities are done in a session, the dominant will look out for and take care of their submissive.” Twilight’s recitation was frequently interrupted by low squeaks, soft moans, or the horribly distracting sound of a ruler impacting flanks.
Scarlet couldn’t help but grin whenever she was outside of Twilight’s view. The alicorn was easy to read to her, wings were such a give-away if you knew what to look for. Small little twitches, uncomfortable shifts, the occasional flex and shift of her wings that Scarlet recognised as a mare resisting the urge to show off a full mating display. The not-very-subtle tail flick giving her just the briefest glimpse of the mare’s excitement. Scarlet doubted Twilight was even aware of the significance of her wing movements. “Continue, miss Sparkle.” She commanded with a hint of a purr to her voice. She made a mental note to sit the mare down some time and talk to her about wings, and the meanings of certain motions.
“Yes, Miss Scarlet.” Twilight whispered nervously, watching the teacher of the class slowly stalking up behind the innocent-looking changeling mare. ”The exact process given will vary wildly based on the particular needs of each dominant and submissive pairing, as well as the nature of the session just completed. Most commonly there will be a period of reassurance and reaffirming that the session is over during which both parties can fully remove themselves from being 'in character' as it is called…” She paused for a long moment. Her mouth agape and her wings shooting up with an audible 'pomf'. Scarlet smirked and looked directly at Twilight Sparkle, not even stopping what she was doing to the poor changeling.
“Continue, Miss Sparkle.” She directed Twilight, her hoof firmly grinding down against the changeling’s marehood. “I told you all that there was no clopping in my class. This little filly was being very naughty with her pencil. Isn’t that right, little Whisper?” She smirked, lashing the ruler along the changeling’s flank. The only reply that came was a mumbling mewl of pleasure, followed by a low squeak.
”…f-followed by tending to any specific physical needs of the submissive caused by the session, such as massaging muscles made sore from being held in bondage, applying ointment to welts from either the chaffing of the bondage gear, or the application of pain-causing items such a crop or switch. As well as examining the submissive for any other potential injuries.” Twilight let out a small sigh. Scarlet could see the mare’s eyes following her for as long as the alicorn could as she returned to the back of the room. Her eyes then returned to Silent Whisper, who was panting and mewling while slumped over her desk. “The length of the care session will also vary based on the individual needs of the parties involved. It should last as long as is needed for both dominant and submissive to feel secure, comfortable, and cared for. But can continue longer than that if both parties wish to do so.”
“That is a… perfect textbook definition.” Scarlet said keeping her voice level. “Actually that is the entire contents of page number three entirely memorised flawlessly.” Seeing the alicorn try to turn her head around in shock was amusing. She watched the Princess of Friendship press her cheek to the already-present ruler. “Eyes forward, Sparkle.” She commanded, her tone sterner than before, a wing slapping her across the flank firmly. Not hard enough to even sting, but enough to get the point across.
“Mi-” Scarlet pressed the other wing to Twilight’s lips shushing her.
Leaning in very close, she whispered into the mare’s ear, “Listen to me, and listen very carefully, Twilight Sparkle.” She started with a small sigh, her voice low, her tone serious for the first time this class to make clear the gravity of what she was saying. “Learning the text books by heart alone is not going to help you in this. The harsh truth of the matter is that they are an indicator. There is no one right way to approach aftercare. It’s something that is instinctual and comes from the bond between you and your dominant.” She sighed softly. “You need to sit down with your Master, and talk to him about these things, and even then you might not know what to do for him at first. Promise me one thing, Twilight Sparkle: If you are unsure, seek out a Den Mother, or me, or anypony.” Scarlet smiled gently at the mare as she pulled away.
“I… I promise.” Twilight whispered.
“Good!” Scarlet exclaimed and slapped her across the flank once more. “Sit down, our guests should be here any moment!”

Scarlet had just finished setting things up for the live demonstration. The open floor right in front of the podium was now a very comfortable-looking nest. A very thick, heated blanket formed the base and a good ten pillows made up the bottom and sides. It was a very common setup for some of the aftercare rooms. Even though each of them had a different theme, there was always something for everypony, especially pegasus-style aftercare nests which included an array of care products hidden away under the pillows.
A wall panel in the back of the classroom, between the right wall and and an empty shelf, slowly slid open, revealing two ponies standing in a small tunnel. As they slipped quietly into the classroom, Scarlet saw them and smiled. The rest of the class, however, were blissfully unaware that anypony had even entered.
Scarlet slowly motioned with her wing to the newcomers, both a familiar sight to her. “Please welcome Miss June and my lovely assistant for the evening – and former student – Miss Strawberry Cream.
The sweet and gentle Den Mother LoLo June. Scarlet still had a note put away to play with the sea-foam green mare. The first thing that had ever caught her eye was how her green coat gradually faded to a soft lavender at her hooves. It was strange and yet looked lovely with her white and pink mane.
Strawberry’s grassy green and cream coloured mane was pulled back into a messy ponytail, and the tall, lithe mare relied heavily on LoLo’s support to walk straight, leaning on her pegacorn escort with a small smile playing on her muzzle as her eyes slowly prowled over the watching ponies. She looked very well satisfied in one of the Society’s renowned aftercare hoodies. Scarlet could already see the type of play she had been in before she got close to her – the mare’s flank was covered in painful-looking welts from a whip and she walked stiffly, clearly trying to move her hips as little as possible. The makeup she had been wearing was smudged. She’d been tearing up at some point.
“I am going to ask you to make a semi-circle and to not crowd her while I handle this, alright?” She looked at the class who did as they had been told. Slowly she sat down beside the nice, safe nest and smiled as the tall mare was guided in by LoLo. Watching the large mare flop gracelessly into the nest was a quite comedic sight to behold, though it was nice to hear her let out a gentle, if slightly exaggerated, sigh of contentment.
“Now, I am very sure LoLo has already done the first stage of aftercare which is to help the pony calm down, and to come back to her senses.” Scarlet explained and snuggled in besides Strawberry, slowly wrapping a wing around her. Simply letting the large earth pony nestle up close, smiling down at her softly as Strawberry nodded her agreement to that. “The primary thing to keep in mind is that you are making your submissive comfortable before anything else. Her being at ease is the most important part.” She said, slowly lowering down to nuzzle Strawberry’s cheek. “Are you comfortable, Strawberry?”
Strawberry nodded slowly, lightly returning the sweet and gentle nuzzles. “Oh Yes, Scarlet, but just ‘Berry’ is fine.”
“Good.” Scarlet whispered softly, her wing tenderly caressing along the mare’s side, lightly brushing along the welts on her flank and lower back. “Did you have fun, Berry?” She asked with a gentle smile.
The earth pony let out a small hiss as the feathers brushed over the welts, but gave Scarlet a quick grin, “Always.”
“You should notice that Scarlet is using her name frequently. It draws a good distinction between play and real life.” LoLo added in with a sweet smile. The class who had formed around the two nodded slowly. There was a dead silence as they observed.
Scarlet herself had shifted from teaching through words to doing it through example. While slowly caressing and holding Strawberry in her embrace, she used one of her primaries to scoop up some ointment from one of the containers she had set out before. She slowly applied it to one of the painful-looking welts while barely touching the sensitive skin with her feather, allowing the ointment to lightly caress along the wound.
There was a shocked gasp from the gathered ponies as the angry welt simply faded away in a matter of seconds. She repeated the gentle caress for each of the lashes across her flank, slowly guiding Berry whenever she needed to move. But all the while, they remained in contact. Every movement was deliberate and coaxed a little coo or pleased gasp from the mare she was attending. Eventually, there was nothing left of the painful marks. Scarlet finished off the treatment with a gentle kiss to each of her cutie marks. “Does that feel good?” She asked.
Berry twitched her hips, flexing them, stretching out her hind legs to test how they felt. “Mmmmmm, yeah, almost as good as getting them did to begin with.” She paused before quickly adding, “Thank you, Scarlet.” Berry gasped loudly as Scarlet placed her hooves on the mare’s back. Slowly pressing down, she started a slow-paced massage, making the mare mewl out very softly. “O-ooh, thank you!”
“Shh… don’t mention it and just enjoy, Berry.” Scarlet cooed softly into her ear, slowly enveloping the mare with her wings. She gently kissed her on the cheek. “Would you like something to drink? Some hot cocoa, maybe?” She offered, her voice sweet and pleasant. Slowly, Scarlet’s wing shifted to dunk another primary into another small bottle, coating itself in a clear liquid, which she started to slowly stroke along the rope burns that ran along Berry’s lower back and hind-legs.
Berry nodded slowly to her question. “I’d prefer something with a bit more kick, but given where we are… yeah some cocoa sounds amazing, Scarlet.” She admitted with mischievous grin on her muzzle. She relaxed once more after rolling over onto her other side, spreading her rear legs further apart than was needed and giving half the watching ponies a quick show before resting her head on Scarlet’s chest.
“Then you will have it, dear.” Scarlet cooed sweetly and watched out of the corner of her eye for a moment where she saw LoLo fetching something from her bag – to this day, it always amazed her how much fit in a Den Mother’s saddlebags. The small mare pulled out a full thermos of what Scarlet assumed to be hot cocoa. Scarlet, meanwhile, focused on showering Strawberry in soft little kisses, subtly inspecting her for for any lingering wounds.
“If you observe Miss Scarlet’s smaller movements, you will notice that she is inspecting Strawberry for any lingering marks left on her.” LoLo explained with a cheery smile on her muzzle. As she presented a steaming mug to Scarlet, she continued “But as you can see, she has caught all of the important ones. There are smaller bruises that are only just now appearing, and that is why long, proper aftercare is important. Sometimes it takes a bit for things such as that to become noticeable, especially if the submissive has a naturally dark coat.”
Scarlet smiled, taking the offered drink in her hoof, rolling her eyes a little as she noticed the Den Mother had actually added whipped cream and marshmallows to it. Slowly, she brought it to Strawberry’s muzzle. “Careful dear, it’s warm.” She cautioned gently as her wing rubbed just a little bit more salve on the smaller, minor little bruises that were just now showing up. “So, who did you play with today?” She asked casually, slowly feeding the mare the drink.
“Master Gale!” Strawberry announced in a sultry voice.
“Really now? What did he do with you then, Berry?”
“Well… he led me to his private room on a Cerberus leash for a special session while his personal pet watched us.” Strawberry started telling and smiled really fondly. “She was sitting in her cage on a swing just watching us like a good little bird as he worked me over. Damn, but that was hot.” She gave out a low, lusty moan at the memory. “He then tied me up and punished me for missing one of my appointments with him. He was very cross with me about that… especially once I ‘accidentally’ let slip I did it on purpose.”
“I see, did you enjoy your punishment then my dear?” Scarlet asked with a small smirk.
“Given I came at least three times before we even moved on to anything else, most definitely!” She announced happily.
“Any questions?” Scarlet asked, looking at the class with a small smirk. “Or was everything clear?” She grinned watching the students shaking their heads in unison. There was something about practical demonstrations that made things perfectly clear. “Good, then I will see you bright and early tomorrow evening. We will go over the products I used to tend to Strawberry’s marks.” She motioned with her wing. “You can stay to watch but… it will just be me cuddling her for the next hour.” She said with a pleasant smile. Happily, she noted that the newer ponies like Twilight actually stayed behind to observe and even take notes!
