My Little Parrody: Friend-zone Is a Mistake
Chapter 4: A bed built for two
Previous ChapterNext ChapterTwilight reluctantly pulled herself away from her studies, leaving a bookmark where she was reading last and closing the book. She hated leaving books stacked around her desk, but it would be easier and less time-consuming than putting them back only to be taken out again the next day. Spike wasn’t as phased though, most of his neater habits were learned to keep Twilight happy, some of them helped his job as her assistant, but in this case, if she wasn’t worried then he didn’t need to either. He was also ready for sleep, though the realization hit him more suddenly than it had Twilight. But as he approached his old bed he quickly realized something wasn’t quite right.
“Um… Twilight?” Spike began. “I think we have a problem.”
Twilight looked over in Spike’s direction. He stood over the one thing in equestrian that hadn’t changed; the basket he used as his bed. As Spike looked down at his old bed he guessed that he might be able to get both of his new enlarged feet into the basket and slowly stepped in to illustrate his point to Twilight. Being the bright unicorn she was, Twilight picked up on Spike’s point very quickly, and began looking around for possible solutions. It was then that she noticed her bed. It had not only scaled up to their new proportions like everything else but also seemed to have doubled in with and an extra pillow had appeared out of nowhere.
“Okay… um, my bed looks big enough for two,” Twilight pointed out, “why don’t you just… sleep with me tonight?”
“Y-you don’t have to put yourself out like that Twilight” Spike retorted, hesitantly. Trying to at least sound like a gentleman.
“I-it’s no trouble… we should be able to share it just fine.”
“N-no you don’t have to… I can just get a pillow and a blanket and go sleep in the library, I’m s-sure I saw a couch down there.”
“Spike Fire Heart” Twilight snapped, her words dripping with sass as she used a full name she may as well have made up “get in my bed!”
“W-well Twilight, if you’re going to put it like that…” Spike replied with a sheepish chuckle.
Twilight blushed as she realized how else her sentence could have been interpreted, and the emphasis in Spike’s reply made it seem like he caught it sooner than she did. He walked past her to the left side of the bed, remembering that she preferred the right, and sat down on facing the wall. Twilight approached the opposite side, and sat down, facing the wall, she turned on her hips and leaned back in the same motion until she was lying on her back, head to her pillow, and hooves to the foot of the bed. Spike followed suit leaving his tail dangling off the edge of the bed. Moments of sleepless silence followed until Twilight finally spoke up.
“…Spike?” She asked in a voice that sounded more like Fluttershy than herself.
“Yes?” he replied in an equally soft tone.
“Do… do you think it would be alright if we… snuggle?”
At first Spike didn’t know what to say, but at the speed of a thought he realized how natural it felt. Not only being around Twilight, but getting this close, though they had grown up together Twilight was never a mother figure or even a big sister. More like his first and oldest friend. He had always assumed he’d find love else ware but as his crush on Rarity faded he was left with a new perspective on mares. Here was one such mare he shared a lot with, who cared for him and who he felt he belonged with asking him to snuggle. And on top of that Twilight looked like a goddess. Even if she weren’t a better match in every possible way the sheer physical temptation was enough to make him want to try things. Nothing he’d have to force on her of course, he wasn’t that kind of dragon, but the kind of passionate things that you only tell your closest friends about.
“Sure Twilight” He said. Letting her set the pace of this intimate exploration.
Twilight rolled over to face Spike, and as he did the same the slowly collided with one another as if they were magnetized. As twilight wrapped her arm around Spike she pulled herself closer squishing her new breasts against his chest. Spike meanwhile let his hand wander across the curves of Twilight’s waist and back.
“You’re so warm.” Twilight cooed as she snuggled against her dragon. “Is that the fire inside you?”
“No Twilight, Dragons are monotremes, not reptiles” Spike gently corrected. “That’s why we can survive on mountain tops or grow mustaches. As hard as our scales are, they’re closer to this silky coat of yours than the scales on a lizard.”
Twilight quietly blushed at the complement, but once again, Spike was just being honest. Even when he rubbed Twilight’s coat against the grain the hairs felt incredibly soft. As Spike rubbed his hand up Twilight’s back to verify his point he could feel her back arching towards him, his sharp ears could pick up a soft moan… or maybe more of a hum, emanating from Twilight. The closest comparison Spike’s mind could find for the sound was the hum that someone made when they smelled something they loved cooking. While he pondered the idea that his touch could elicit this kind of response from Twilight, she simultaneously broke his train of thought, and confirmed what he had been thinking.
“D-do you think we could… interbreed?” Twilight asked. “Dragons and Ponies, I mean.”
“I …I’m not sure.” Spike responded. While he had heard of a creature called a Kirin that was supposed to be part pony and part dragon, but as he had never met one, he considered the possibility that it was just something Ponies talked about, like hippogriffs.
Twilight’s mind was flooded with thought’s she was having trouble containing, one had already leaked from her lips when another bubbled up from the deep reaches of her mind.
“I… I think I want to try it!” she said in a desperate almost begging tone.
Author's Note
I thought I'd get to the end in this chapter, but it's still about another thousand words away so instead of having a double long chapter I'll leave it here.
