My Little Parrody: Friend-zone Is a Mistake
Chapter6: All the rest
Previous ChapterSpike awoke slowly the next morning, having been kept up later than planned by his escapades with Twilight the night before. He looked to his right, Twilight was already out of bed and looking at Harry Clopper’s spell book again.
“Twilight? What are you doing?” Spike asked, still a little groggy.
“…Once I came back down to Equestia last night,” she began, “something stuck in my mind. In his journal Harry said that he couldn’t see any changes when he cast the spell, but we saw changes almost instantly. He also mentioned another world beyond Starswirl’s mirror, if he was trying to align our world with that one in order to make the changes, his spell may have accidently created a parallel world, something between the human one and the Equestria we remember.”
“…We remember?” Spike quoted beginning to see where Twilight was going with this.
“I think he didn’t see any changes because he was writing in the original world, likewise the Twilight and Spike in the original world are probably still laughing about how ridiculous that spell sounds.”
“So you’re saying that this isn’t really happening and we’re just copies in a fantasy world?” Spike asked.
“It might depend on your definition of reality,” Twilight pointed out, “but yes, essentially we’re in our own little world, where nothing we do will affect the original one. If I’m right casting the spell again should cause no visible change here, but create yet another parallel world… though I’d have no evidence of the latter.”
Twilight found the page and focused on the words written there, the ones that started this whole matter. Taking a deep breath she let her magic fill her horn and prepared to cast the spell. She closed her eyes and recited the most ridiculous spell she had ever heard.
“Boingis-Biggus Hooty-Booty!” she exclaimed.
Slowly she looked around, nothing appeared to have changed she still looked like a semi-human demigoddess. The room still looked like hers give or take that it fit her human proportions. And Spike was still turning her on, perhaps a little more now that she knew what her draconic lover could do in bed.
“Looks like I was right.” Twilight said with a proud grin on her face
Meanwhile across the dimensions, a new even more human-like copy of Twilight with even bigger curves, took in her new form. Her coat was entirely gone replaced with smooth skin roughly a shade lighter in color. She was completely naked having not been wearing anything before the change, and could see the fully exposed nipples on her breasts roughly a shade or two darker than her skin. The only proof she had ever been a unicorn were a pair of log ears and a spiraled horn on her head, as a horse-like tail extending from her lower back which censored her butt crack flawlessly until a curious stroke of her right under-bust sent a warm tingle up her spine, causing her to involuntarily lift her tail.
Spike, who was in just the right position to get an eyeful when Twilight lifted her tail, had been similarly affected by the spell. His skin was mostly smooth say for a few sparse hairs on his forearms. His crest of spines had been replaced with a main of hair roughly the same shade of green, and his genitals hung freely in the air beneath him having no scales to cover them. Like twilight the only proof he had ever been a dragon was his tail and webbed ears.
The new twilight turned to her assistant-turned-lover with a suggestive grin and asked.
“Well spike, do you want to join me in some further testing of these new forms?”
“You bet your big, hot ass I do!” Spike replied hungrily, having caught the meaning behind the emphasis in her question.
Back in the universe we had been following, Twilight prepared a second address for the town.
“Stallions and Gentle Mares,” she began, “As I’m sure you’ve guessed by now that I have called you all here to update you on the progress of my research. The good news is that Swe-er-Spike and I have found out exactly what Harry Clopper was trying to do. The bad news is that it seems that instead of changing the world his spell actually creates a parallel of the world it was cast in, there for we cannot change back because there is no back beyond the casting of the spell.”
“Wait a minute!” Rainbow Dash snapped. “I can remember things from before that spell was cast! How do you explain that miss smart flank?”
“I had wondered about that too,” Twilight responded, “the only explanation I can give is that the magic that changed us knew we’d need some kind of prior memories in order to function and copied those from our original selves as well.”
“What do you mean the magic knew?”
“It’s something one of my first instructors told me back when I was still a little filly, When a spell, especially a new spell, doesn’t work it’s not always because the caster failed but because the forces you’re attempting to use didn’t want you to change the world in that way.”
Everyone broke into chatter at this realization. Magic has a mind of its own? They were only copies of who they remember being? Was Twilight off of her proverbial rocker or was this all true? What could they believe if not their own memories?
“So what do y’all purpose we do now?” Apple Jack asked bringing the conversation back to its hostess.
“Honestly, just what you have been doing.” Twilight answered. “From what Spike and I found in our research Harry Clopper wrote the spell with the intention of making an Equestria where he had a chance at being with Princess Celestia, but without him here to follow that objective, what this new world becomes is up to us.”
“Well,” Rarity began, “I did find a slight boon to my work in this form. I was working on a delicate stitch when I realized that by using these… “Hands”, am I saying that right?”
“Yes Rarity.” Twilight deadpanned.
“Well, stitching by hand I could feel when and where the tolerances of both thread and material were.” Rarity concluded.
“I had a similar experience examining an injured raccoon.” Flutter Shy added. “I was able to find and set a fracture in the poor critter’s leg by feel rather than having to conduct surgery on him.”
“Same with my harp,” Lira Heartstrings chirped in, “I can actually feel the notes now instead of roughly plucking at it with magic.”
“Oh-oh and I found I can take a tiny sample of frosting from the bowl without contaminating it by whipping it into a spiral, and swiping the tip off with my finger!” Pinkie added. “It kept me from making more than a few cake mistakes let me tell ya.”
“There, you see,” Twilight said with a cheerful smile on her face, “there’s plenty to enjoy about these new forms. No need for concern at all.”
“…and I’ve got one more thing hands are helpful for.” Spike added as he looked at Twilight and began clapping.
Slowly the whole crowd followed suit. Twilight looked at the dragon she loved and back at the crowd applauding her. A slight happy tear started to run down her cheek. She couldn’t believe something that had started with an apology to the town was ending with the whole of Ponyvill clapping for her. She glanced at Spike who had taken a step or two closer to her now. There was one more thought wafting through her head as she stood at the podium. She took a breath and found a grip around Spike’s left hand as he stood to her right.
Before Twilight could start on rumor control, spinning what had happened between her and Spike into the most socially acceptable version of the truth. Spike, having picked up on what her taking his hand meant, had assumed that Twilight had needed to find her words, and decided that what she needed most right now was a kiss, and planted one squarely on her lips… in front of the entire sentient population of Ponyvill.
To Twilight’s surprise, the crowd actually started cheering louder. Apple Bloom gave a two fingered whistle which Apple Jack promptly scolded her for. A mixture confusion, disgust, realization, then pride… and maybe a bit of jealousy crossed Rarity’s face. Like some joule or garment she had overlooked had suddenly been snapped up by someone who wore it better. Whatever Rarity’s thoughts may have been, the next thing Twilight’s mind could process was Rainbow Dash Cheering at her while hovering just above the crown next to a tree where Scootaloo sat on a branch.
“Woo-hoo! Get that Twi!” Rainbow Cheered.
Twilight tried to re-organize the thoughts derailed by the kiss and the responses of the crowd. Especially Rainbow’s directive to “get that”, still, she had to say this.
“W-well,” Twilight stammered “As I’m sure you’ve guessed by that public display of affection, Spike and I are dating now. How it happened was… let’s just say that it happened about the way you’d expect and leave it at that. And we’ll see how far it goes, but based on early estimates I expect a long and lasting relationship."
Twilight closed the door after she and Spike walked back inside the library, much as she had when they first started their adventure.
“So… “a long and lasting relationship” huh?” Spike quoted as he slowly looked over the mare he loved. Love had caught both of them by surprise, but it seemed to be the only right answer now.
“Yes,” Twilight answered as she hung out the closed until morning sign and locked the library’s front door, “A relationship to last a thousand years, full of love, laughter, and babies, lots of adorable Kirin babies.”
Twilight grinned as she casually strolled towards Spike and draped her arms over his shoulders. She looked into his eyes, the playful smirk on her face telling him that her little prophesy had been an attempt at humor. This was her turn to initiate a kiss but unlike Spike’s this one wouldn’t have to be cut off for the sake of public decency. As Kissing became making out, Twilight felt Spike’s hand drift down to her flank. Sensations from the night before coming back to her, Twilight lifted her legs over Spike’s hips pulling him to a convenient wall as they continued.
Nine months later, part of Twilight’s joke prophecy came true. The first was a Kirin filly who they named Amethyst Sparkle in honor of the eyes she shared with her mother. The second was a Kirin colt named Radiant Flair with his father’s green spines and a blue coat from his maternal grandfather. The third was another filly named Emerald Shine, who bore a striking resemblance to her uncle Shining Armor save for her green mane and eyes. Fourth and finally was a colt named Brilliant Dawn who had his father’s coat, his mother’s dark-blue accents, and developed a similar love of the books and magic that brought his parents together.
Author's Note
Just an epilog, and maybe not even something I needed to include, but it felt like there were some unanswered questions in the main story. With this I'll be changing this story from incomplete to complete but may still make edits and corrections as readers like you point them out. Until my next story, stay pony my friends.
