The Battle Against A New Enemy
Twilight Sparkle was walking through town one day as she had left her place early to run errands for her friends as she helped several of them our, she left Spike on his own like usual as he was usually okay by himself, she wanted to be quick though as she didn't want to stay out all day.
When she got back to her house a feeling of dread took over her, she wondered why she was so scared all of a sudden and something struck her as odd she saw that a pony was near her house, she went to go see the pony but she froze as she saw that it was holding her place hostage.
"Well well if it isn't the deceased princess's prize student! What's wrong? Do you miss your girlfriend?" Twilight lit up her horn and pointed it at the pony in question. She saw that the pony was holding Spike hostage.
"Let him go! What is it that you want? Why are you here?" Twilight yelled, the pony glared at Twilight as pulled out a picture of Rarity and held it up with their magic.
"I know that your friends with the girl who killed Celestia and I know how you saved Equestria a dozen times from so called threats, you and that degenerate princess of yours have been crusading in the name of good and when I heard about Rarity killing Celestia to try and cover up your friends I know the truth. I've come to conquer Ponyville by killing the remaining princess's! For my name is Darkstar." The pony said.
"That's a stupid name second of all You'll never succeed! Please let Spike go right now or suffer the concequences!" Twilight yelled. The pony threw Spike aside as she walked up to Twilight, she shoved Twilight backwards and started to torture her. Twilight screamed in agony as Spike lay on his side for a few minutes. After that the pony stopped torturing her.
"And now Twilight I shall now kill you, they will be talking about this for years how the great Darkstar killed Twilight Sparkle!" Darkstar said, and as Darkstar cast the spell Twilight braced herself but she realized she was still alive so she opened her eyes and she looked on in horror as Spike had protected Twilight, Spike turned around and saw her. Spike looked her and then fell to the ground.
Twilight looked on in shock as Spike fell over dead, Twilight's eyes widened in fear as she went over to Spike's body, she screamed in agony as she cried while Cadence came rushing over to her, and saw what had happened. They saw the pony in general run away so Cadence chased after her. Rarity saw what had happened and tried to stop Twilight from getting up to try and chase Darkstar but Twilight managed to get away as Rarity looked on in sadness.
Darkstar had just killed her a dragon that was the closest to her so she wanted to make Darkstar suffer, Twilight was out for blood, she wanted to torture Darkstar, Darkstar led her to an open area outside of Ponyville and Darkstar started to mock her over Spike's death.
"I killed Spike! I killed Spike! What are you going to do Twilight!" Darkstar said as she mocked Twilight which made Twilight furious with rage and hatred. Twilight caste an offensive spell against Darkstar and it made Darkstar fly against a wall. Twilight looked down and lit up her horn as she seethed with anger against him, she wanted to kill him for killing Spike but before Twilight could do that Cadence stepped in front of Darkstar.
"It was stupid to show yourself today, it's over Darkstar, we are going to stop you at all costs so that you won't be able to terrorize Equestria, you will not get away with what you did and I will se that you suffer in Tarturus for the rest of your life because of the crimes you had committed. Cadence said. Darkstar stood up and grinned.
"Not by the time after I kill you!" Darkstar said, with that they both lit up their horns and Twilight moved out of the way as Cadence and Darkstar started to duel. Twilight tried to help but was stopped by Cadence as Cadence had Twilight put into a magical forcefield which would protect her.
Twilight watched the duel as she was unable to help, Twilight hoped that Cadence would win, she knew that she was placed there for her own protection but she wanted to help out anyway. Cadence and Darkstar kept fighting eachother with their magic. Twilight still had tears running down her cheeks as she thought about Spike.
Finally Cadence got the upper hand and that was when Darkstar fled, Cadence and Luna immediately alerted Equestria about Darkstar and an investigation was started to try to arrest him. Cadence removed the forcefield from Twilight and tried to comfort Twilight but she didn't want any of that. Twilight went to Spike's body and carried it home with her.
Twilight told her friends what had happened and then she buried Spike in a protective coffin and she had a small funeral for him with her friends they then went home as Twilight mourned for the rest of the day, as she mourned though she wondered about who Darkstar was.
Twilight couldn't believe that a close family friend who she hatched herself died, she kept losing individuals she loved, she just couldn't wrap her head around what had happened, she didn't want to go on now, not what happened to Spike today but as she thought about it she did have to move on for Spike's sake.
She knew that Spike's death was only the beginning of terrible trials that lay ahead. She knew that Darkstar would return and try to kill more ponies that are close to Twilight, Twilight didn't want to loose anypony else, she started to sob over Spike's death. As soon as Twilight began crying again Shining Armor quietly entered the room as he had heard about what happened, he said nothing as he hugged her, Twilight hugged him back as Shining Armor tried to comfort her.
After she cried for a bit she thanked Shining Armor and told him that she wanted to be alone so she could have privacy to moarn over the loss of Spike which he understood, as he left Twilight realized from that day forward that everything would change for her and her friends. Nothing would be the same.
