"CRyStalS!!!"
I sat still, staring in shock at the monstrous creature that had just entered the room. That shape, those black crystals, the voice. There was no mistaking it, standing in the doorway was a monstrous perversion of Sombra's form. But that shouldn't be possible, Cadance and Twilight had said that he had been destroyed, torn to pieces by the energy of the Crystal Heart.
"That creature is like us." I saw the Changeling, as well as his 'wives', stand up and begin to walk around the table. "A Shikabane. An immortal corpse created by regrets and obsessions." Something was different about the five of them now, they were now giving off not only an aura of death, but what seemed to be an aura of light as well. "Only he could not control it." A rattling sound filled the room as the thousands of crystal shards that were once a living caribou stag rose from the ground and shot towards the beast that was once Sombra. They began to revolve around Sombra before floating onto him and seemingly began to fuse to the crystals that were already present, creating a sort of shell, or armor. "He is now nothing more than a beast that seeks only to feed his obsessions. And he will destroy the living to accomplish that."
"We are not like him." The Griffon walked past me and raised her arms, bringing them across her chest, then she threw them to her sides, holding them up in the air. "We seek to protect the living and destroy those of our kind that would do the opposite." Before my eyes her body began to change. Her talons elongated and began to take on an appearance of what seemed to be metal and seemed to become sharper and her wings did the same. She brought her right leg behind her left leg and I saw that her lion claws had done the same thing as her talons.
She wasn't the only one who had changed though.
Gigi's muzzle had elongated, her teeth had become sharper and wolf like. Her fur had become torn and matted, patches blowing in a non existent breeze, similar to mine and Luna's manes. Her arms and legs had become more muscular, though at places they had become so thin that you could see the outline of the bones inside. Her hands seemed to be covered in what appeared to be mud, which was strange, seeing as how there was nowhere she could have gotten the mud.
The Dragon, Tula, as she had said her name was before she left to find the others, seemed to have blood running down her body and large holes had formed in the webbing of her wings, which seemed to have become slightly smaller. Her horns had grown outward some the tips now pointing forward, I had no doubt that she would be able to impale me, if she charged me and I didn't get out of the way. Her claws had also elongated and her muscles had also grown larger but not as much as Gigi's, she had also grown a second pair of arms. As she walked past me I began to feel hot, as she walked away I realized that she wasn't covered in blood, but magma.
The Caribou doe, Freyja, had grown a pair of antlers that were almost as clear as glass and had short icicles hanging from them. Her clothes had disappeared, a light blue mist now surrounded her, wrapping around her body, especially her breasts and somewhat visible... Doe parts.... Looking closely, I was able to see that her eyes had changed, turning completely white and having begun to glow. I noticed that every time her hooves hit the ground it began to freeze over.*
The Changeling... Hadn't changed a bit. "We are those who protect the living from our own kind." He began to approach the creature that was once Sombra. "We are those who slay immortals." Slowly, cracks began tp form on his shell, pieces falling off as he approached. A loud crack was heard and a pair of bat like wings shot from his back. More and more pieces of his shell began to fall off, large curved spikes emerging from the holes. "We are Shikabane, and you..." The rest of his shell fell away revealing what appeared to be a living mass of tendrils of solid lights and shadows. "Are nothing but a walking corpse!" The next thing I knew, the Changeling had crossed the room and Sombra was colliding with a wall.
My P.o.V
'Ow ow ow ow ow! Holy fuck that hurt! Why did I punch him!?' I looked back at the crystalline Shikabane just in time to see it stand up.
Small shards of black crystal broke off of his body and began to orbit him. "CrySTalS!!!" If I had blinked I wouldn't have been able to avoid the thousands of shards that flew forward with such force that they embedded themselves in the opposite wall.
'Well I'm pretty sure I know what his curse is... And his obsession for that matter...' I heard Tula roar before she charged him. Instead of impaling him with her horns, she decided tackle him, breaking through the wall behind them as she did so, letting in the cold air of the outside. "Damn it Tula!" I turned back and looked at the ponies, seeing that Luna, Celestia and Twilight had magic surrounding their horns, and Cadance was hiding under the table. "I'm not going to be able to convince you to stay out of this, am I?" The three shook their heads and I gave a frustrated sigh and turned to my only wife that was still in the room. "Freyja, try to keep them out of the way." Seeing the beautiful doe nod, I turned and walked through the hole in the wall, just in time to see Tula throw the crystal covered Shikabane over the village walls.
Celestia's P.o.V
I stood there, dumbfounded. I could deal with the fact that the new leaders of the Caribou were a harem.** I could deal with the fact that the one who seemed to be the apparent leader was a Changeling. I could even deal with the fact that they were all dead. What I could not deal with was the fact that one of them was trying to stop us from helping to destroy one of the most dangerous ponies to ever exist.
And she had succeeded!
The Caribou doe, Freyja as she had been introduced, had walked up to us and released a cold breath. Within moments our horns had been encased in ice and our arms had been frozen to the chairs we were in to the point that even our immense strength could not free us. "I'm sorry about this, but it's for your own good... And the good of the world if it prevents the four of you from becoming like us."
I sat there confused for a second before speaking. "What do you mean?" There was no point in fighting it, the ice the doe had made was enhanced by some kind of magic I had never felt before, but I could tell that if I tried to fight it with my own magic, it would only result in a violent backlash.
"Well..." The doe sat down in one of the nearby chairs. "Iddy's pretty sure that if any of you died, you'd become Shikabane. I can see where he's coming from too."
"Oh?"
"Yeah, you and Princess Luna would come back because you would regret not being able to protect your subjects, Princess Twilight would come back because of her obsession with knowledge." She then motioned to the only Alicorn that wasn't frozen in the slightest, who had stood up and was trying to keep calm. "And Princess Cadance would probably be the opposite of Iddy, having an obsession with spreading love."
A chill went down my spine at those words. I didn't want to admit it, but each of us did have an obsession of some sort and if what they said was true, each of us might return as one of these Shikabane. "I will admit, that's a... Disturbing thought. Even more so seeing as there seems to be solid reasoning behind it."
We all sat there silently for a few minutes before Freyja spoke up again. "I can let you go if you promise not to try and help my husband and the others."
I weighed my options carefully before coming to a decision. "Very well then." The ice around my arms and horn vanished, the same thing happening to my sister and Twilight. I looked at Freyja and saw that she had returned to her previous form, in fact if I hadn't seen it, I would've never know she had changed at all, especially since her chlothes had returned. I looked around the room for a moment before returning my gaze to Freyja. "So, how did you and your family meet?" I don't know why, but I felt to need to ask her.
She smiled and gave a happy sigh. "Well it all happened five years ago..."
Five years ago.
Freyja's P.o.V
I was pinned up against a wall, Master's hands gripping my neck, rage in his eyes. I didn't know why Master was angry with me, but it didn't matter. I was in the wrong, as a doe it was my place in the world to obey and please any males without question. They were perfect and they could do no wrong. "You made me get cum on my shirt you stupid bitch! I! Told! You! To! Swallow!" I could only feel pain at the moment, because with each word, Master slammed my head against the wall.
"I'm sorry Master, I didn't mean to! I'm sorry I'm such a bad cunt, I'll learn and get better, I promise! Please don't throw me away!" My world began to blur as Master's grip tightened and everything went silent.
"Did I say you could speak?" I felt my head hit the wall once more and then I felt nothing. I could still see and hear, but I couldn't feel anything. "I give you a roof over your head, I give you food and I teach you to be a good cunt and this is how you repay me!?" I think he kicked me, but I couldn't feel anything so I can't be sure. "Answer me cunt!" Things were silent for a few moments. "Faen! Jeg drepte henne!"*** Killed me? What was he talking about? I was fine! Or at least I thought I was until everything went black.
The next thing I knew, I was warm, I chanced a look at myself and saw that I was wearing clothes, but why? I'm a doe, and does aren't supposed to wear clothes. Confused I sat up and looked around. I was in a cave of some sort, I could see a fire and there were four of the strangest Caribou I had ever seen sitting around it. Three of them were does like me if the size of their chests were anything to go by, so the fourth must have been their master. Laying against the wall of the cave were some packs, similar to the ones Master used when he went out with her friends and hunted for furs. I got on my hands and knees and started crawling over to them, more specifically the Master. As I approached I saw that there was blizzard outside and it finally clicked for me.
Master had gotten rid of me.
Instead of crying however, I decided that my best chance was to be a good cunt and I continued towards the strange stag. Prayed to those above that he would find it in his heart to take in another lowly cunt and that he would be my new Master. As I reached him I noticed that the strange does were also wearing clothes. 'He must really care about his cunts. I hope he'll count me among them...'
I reached the strange stag and, using my mouth, I unbuckled his belt and pulled his pants down slightly. "W-what are you doing?" I was slightly confused. The does' Master didn't seem happy that I was doing my job as a cunt. It must have been a test. "Hey, stop that!" He pushed me away slightly and pulled his pants up.
I looked up and the male and gave him a pleading look. "Please Master, give this lowly cunt a chance to please you, it is my only purpose in life!"
Their Master looked at me as if I had two heads and frowned. "Wow... Ok listen to me, first of all, I'm not anyone's master. Second of all, don't call yourself a cunt. You have a name, use it." He stopped for a second, looked at me and frowned. "You do have a name, right?"
"This cu-" I barely managed to stop myself. He had said not to use that word. "I was given the name Freyja by my master..." By this point I had become uncomfortable was sitting normally
The strange stag clicked his tongue. "Freyja... A Norse goddess associated with love, sex, beauty and fertility..." I frowned, he had said that last part to quietly for me to understand, but I did hear the word beauty. He glanced at me and smiled. "It fits..." I couldn't help but blush.
"Ohhhh... Girls, it looks like Identity's trying to add another wife to our little family!~"
The strange stag snorted. "Shut up Tula."
"No way! Have you even looked at her? She's hot as fuck! We wouldn't mind sharing you with one more person, especially if she looks like that!" I heard some hoof steps, though they sounded different from normal. I suddenly felt a hand on my shoulder and looked up. The strange pink doe with wings smiled at me. "Welcome to the family Frey."
The stag placed a hand on his forehead and sighed. "I'm not drunk enough to deal with this."
Back in the present.
Cadance's P.o.V
"I don't remember much about that night after he said that, but when I woke up the next morning I had changed into the thing you saw a few minutes ago. I freaked out and almost froze them all solid when they told me I was dead, but Iddy managed to calm me down and help me change back. Two days later we were here and Dainn was dead. It didn't take me long to realize that I loved him once he killed Dainn, and after I had asked the girls what the feeling I had for him was..." I smiled at the doe, it was slightly disturbing how she had told that story with a smile, but I could see that she really did love the Changeling of her own free will. And I could tell he returned those feelings. "I kinda talked him into marrying me a few hours later..."
I leaned over the table and was about to demand that she give me details when we heard the door open and I saw the Changeling, no, he had a name. I saw Identity walk in, along with Tula, Gigi and the Griffon, all of them in their original forms. He tossed something onto the table in front of us and I immediately knew what it was. A horn. Sombra's horn. "A little peace offering."
I looked at it and cringed a bit. "A little barbaric, don't you think?"
He frowned at me. "I'm going to be blunt right now, we called you here to ask you to inform us whenever you think there are any Shikabane active in Equestria or the Crystal Empire, so we can hunt it down and destroy it."
I heard Aunt Celestia sigh. "Very well."
"Good, now if you'll excuse us, my wives and I are going to go... Relax..." Freyja stood up and followed after them...
It took me a few moments before I realized that the worst thing ever had just happened. "Awww!!! I wanted details about the wedding!"

Freyja's master thought he had killed her, he almost did, and tried to get rid of the body. She froze to death and that's why her monsterus form is similar to a Windigo. My P.o.V
I looked out over the main village of the small 'kingdom' I ruled with my wives with a smile. I was impressed at how far they had come since my wives and I had overthrown their former 'King' five years ago. What used to be huts made of wood were now houses of stone and thatch, the one my wives and I occupied being half the size of Canterlot Castle.
Speaking of which... "King indeed..." The Caribou king, Dainn, was a sexist pig that saw females as objects, only useful for pleasing males and breeding. Now, under our rule, females and males were equal, though the only Caribou stags left were the ones who had opposed Dainn's rule and had been turned into females, and then raped, repeatedly, as punishment. I don't know why, but upon Dainn's death all the males he had changed reverted to their original form.
A tingling feeling rushed through my body and I looked at my hand, frowning when I saw that my normally pale white chitin had been replaced by light brown fur. "Damn it." I focused for a second and the fur disappeared in a flash of grey flames, my pale chitin having returned. Sometimes I hate my Curse...
Let me explain.
My wives and I are beings known as Shikabane, corpses reanimated by their regrets and obsessions. Most Shikabane can take two forms, the form they had in life and a more bestial, more monsterous form they received after death. I am different in the regard thanks to my Curse. Each Shikabane has a unique... Ability related to them, these are what Shikabane refer to as their 'Curses'. My curse gives me the ability to take the 'normal' and bestial forms of any Shikabane I kill, so long as I... Eat their brain.
Yeah, disgusting, I know, that's another reason I hate it, but the main reason is the fact that I sometimes take the 'normal' form of my meals if I think about them and don't remember to force myself not to change. My Curse is the reason I took my new name, Identity, I can't remember the name I had before I became a Shikabane, and I thought that the name fit with my Curse.
And if you want to know what my obsession that was so powerful that I simply refused to stay dead is... I really wanted to truly be loved. And I got my wish, thankfully I didn't die when I got it.
"Oh Iddy~" Turning I saw one of my wives, Freyja, who was scantily clad might I add, only wearing a pair of tight panties, a bra that barely hid anything... She was taller than Freyja, standing at 5-10. She had beautiful blue eyes and her body was covered in light pink scales, she was also a bit heavier than the doe, though she was nowhere near fat. Her horns, which came out of the back of her head, curved down toward the bottom of her cheeks, almost reaching her chin, her curved purple spines lay flat against her back, from her neck to the tip of her tail, which was about four inches too short to reach the floor. She died in a rock slide and was brought back because she regretted not starting a hoard.
She looked over my shoulder and frowned when she saw the near naked doe putting on a tight fitting, light blue dress with a white snowflake on the front, right below where her breasts met, along with a white skirt. She looked back at me and scowled, crossing her arms over her chest. "You could've invited the rest of us you know."
I rubbed the back of my neck. "I would have if I had any warning, but you know Freyja, sometimes she wants me all to herself." She maintained her scowl for a few seconds before a smile spread across her lips.
"Well in that case, the four of us should 'punish' her tonight for being so selfish. Or..." She walked up next to me, placing a claw on my chest and moving it in a circle. "I could tell the Ponies to come back later and go get the others." She walked past me and over to Freyja and slid her right hand between the doe's legs and began to move it back and forth. "Maybe we could tie her up and gag her, then we could make her watch as you fuck us until we can't even remember our own names." Freyja moaned as Tula continued to rub her crotch. She leaned in until her mouth was next to the doe's ear. "You'd like that, wouldn't you slut?" The doe moaned again and nodded.
I frowned, but not because Tula had called one of her fellow wives a slut, because honestly, not only was it hot, but Freyja liked it when we referred to her with derogatory terms like that in the bedroom. She found it to be a turn on. I would have taken my reptile-like wife up on that offer if it weren't for the fact that there was at least one being powerful enough to move the sun waiting to meet us. The sacrifices I make for our safety, honestly. "Sorry, but that will have to wait until tonight."
Tula frowned and pulled her hand out from between Freyja's legs, making the doe whimper in sadness, and sighed. "Oh well."** She turned around and walked back over to me, but not before making Freyja yelp but slapping the doe on the ass. "I'm gonna go find Aella, Gigi's already in the Dining Hall with the Ponies... She's probably already talking to them..." I nodded and she walked past me and out the door.
I watched her leave and felt something bump up against me. I turned and saw that Freyja was once again looking up at me with those beautiful hazel eyes of hers. My gaze remained on her for a second before I realized what she was trying to do. "No."
I will admit that I squeed internally once more when she pouted.
Celestia's P.o.V
To say that I had been confused, not that I had shown it, when a Caribou had walked into my throne room and informed us that their former king, whom I had been planning on deposing for the last ten years, had been killed in a battle to the death, and that their new king, Dainn's killer, and his wives wished for us to meet them.
To say I was shocked when Twilight demanded that she come along with Cadance, Luna and I was an understatement. But what I saw before me wasn't confusing, nor was it shocking. No, what I saw before me was down right terrifying.
A female Diamond Dog, which seemed to be a breed of poodle, whom had introduced herself as Gigi, was sitting in one of was basically a group of five thrones at one end of the table that we all sat at. She wore a green dress that reached just above her knees, stitched to the cloth on her shoulders were a pair of metal shoulder pads. For some reason I couldn't help but occasionally glance at her D size breasts. The fact that she was smiling at me with a mouth full of canines wasn't helping, but that's not what scared me.
No. What scared me was the fact that she, as well as the she-dragon that had left to find their husband and other wives, were quite literally dead. I don't know if Twilight or Cadance noticed, but my sister and I did. It should have been impossible, I thought that I had tracked down and destroyed all necromatic spells in the world whilst Luna was still imprisoned in the moon.
And at the moment she was staring at me. It was unnerving and I was starting to have difficulty restraining myself from unleashing my magic upon the living corpse in order to destroy the abomination of nature. I took a sip of the tea that the servants of this castle had made, even if I didn't trust them, I still wanted to be polite, it was quite good in all honesty, although I couldn't place what type it was.
Things had been silent for about ten minutes when Twilight spoke up. "Soooo... Why did you and your family want to meet with us Gigi?"
The Diamond Dog smiled in response. "Denny want's to try and make pact with ponies."
I almost snickered. Almost. "Denny is your... Husband?" The poodle nodded. "Well, we would be delighted to hear what he has to say. Maybe we can come to some sort of agreement."
"I'm glad to hear that." I turned to the source of the voice and almost dropped my cup of tea at what I saw. There were two more abominations of nature. One a Caribou doe, the other a Changeling.
My P.o.V
Despite the fact that I was internally having a panic attack, I looked at the four Alicorns sitting at the table with my third wife and smiled as Freyja and I gave a bow before sitting down. "Hello your Majesties, my name is Identity, this is Freyja, one of my wives." I motioned to the doe and then to my other wife. "And I believe you've already met Gigi." Speaking of Gigi, she had been brought back by her obsession with digging of all things.
Celestia, the one that controlled the sun, was dressed in a slightly loose fitting white dress that blended with her fur and reached down to her knees, though it had a slit down each side to allow her to move freely. She wore a pair of gold colored high heals and a golden crown with a large amethyst in the center. She also had a necklace the was made of gold with a amethyst in the center that rested on her DD sized breasts.
Luna, the one that controlled the moon and stars, was wearing a dress that was similar to her sisters, only it was black that complimented her blue fur and hugged her curves, as well as her D sized breasts quite nicely. She had a pair of black high heels on and was wearing a silver crescent moon pendant on a silver chain. If I was interested in having any more wives, which I wont lie, I kind of am, and the others had said they wouldn't mind expanding our little family. Out of the four she's the one I would ask.
Cadance, the one that ruled the Crystal Empire, was a slim, pink furred mare that was wearing a brown sweater with a white skirt that covered most of her body. Not much more to say about her really.
Finally there was Twilight Sparkle... She wore a purple sweater, a few shades darker than her fur, and a pair of shorts that reached to the bottom of her knees, there wasn't much more to say about her either. Well, aside from the fact she was looking at me in disgust, actually now that I think about it, all four of them were looking at me in disgust.
There was only one reason I could think of that would cause them to look at me like that. They knew what we were. "So... You know what we are."
Luna narrowed her eyes at me and I saw a slight glow come from her horn. "Speak of your intentions abomination!"
Celestia looked at her sister. "Luna, sit down, we don't know how powerful these things are." Out of the corner of my eye I saw Twilight frown at her mentor's choice of words. It made sense, I guess, she's supposed to be the Princess of 'Friendship' after all. I saw the light around Luna's horn vanished and I released an internal sigh of relief.
"Instead of readying for battle, may I pose a question for the four of you?" The four looked at us eyeing us carefully before nodding. "Have any of you heard of the term Shikabane?" Almost as if by reflex, the purple princess spoke up.
"If I remember correctly, in Neighponese culture, a Shikabane is a corpse that is raised from the dead by powerful regrets or obsessions, and retain some of their memories from when they were still alive. They don't care about the living and will often kill them for reasons related to their obsessions. But I don't see why that matters, they're just a myth." I chuckled at that.
"That's mostly correct Princess... But you're wrong about them being a myth, after all, there are three of them in the room with you." The whole room went silent as the eyes of the younger Princesses widened and a scowl formed on the faces of the other two. Things remained that way until the sound of a door opening broke the silence. I looked over my shoulder and smiled. "Make that five." Tula sat down in her chair, the one on my left, and then my final wife, Aella, sat down in the chair on my right.
Aella was a Griffon and she was my first wife. She stood about 5-8, white feathers on the upper half of her body, except for her beak and D sized breasts, the lower half of her body was covered in a golden brown fur, her lion tail sticking out a hole in the back of the decorative plate armor she was wearing. She had one silver eye, the other was a milky white with a scar on the outside of it. She came from a family of warriors and has a lust for battle, that same lust for battle being the reason she didn't stay dead.
I smiled and looked toward the pony Princesses. "Well, now that everyone's here, let's get started, shall we?"
Before anyone could say anything the main doors to the dining hall burst open and a Caribou stag was thrown into the room covered in what seemed to be black crystals. He screamed in pain as the crystals began to spread across his body, quickly reaching his mouth and silencing him before his body burst into thousands of tiny shards.
Everyone sprung to their hooves, and feet in one and paws in two of our cases. Standing in the door was a creature made of a fusion shadows and black and red crystals that took the shape of a unicorn. "CrySTaLS!!!"***
"... Maybe we should deal with that first..."
