My Little Tutu: A Princess Tutu AUby Arondight2016ChaptersPrince and the DuckVow of a Generous AlicornBat PonyHeart Shard of HonestyPrince and the DuckOnce upon a time, a young wizard had died. In his possession contained a forbidden spell that was never intended to finish. This particular spell allowed certain characters from a story play a part through the pony world. The raven and the prince fought and fought until the prince sealed the raven away. In doing so, the prince shattered his own heart with his sword to ensure that the raven would never return again. Or so he thought... "Quack...Quack..." A small duckling swam in a lake which never had been inhabitant before. Though the place was quiet and peaceful, she hoped to see something that would entertain her. However, her wish came to an abrupt halt when a single ripple interfered. "Quack...?" When the creature glanced upward, she noticed a particular Pegasus with wings as light as a feather and started to dance as calm as the sea. "Wow..." the duck replied, "That's one amazing prince. I wish I can dance with him." While she watched him dance the night away, she came to the realization that she couldn't do such a thing. "But I can't. I'm just a duck. Not only in body but also by name." The prince continued dancing and glanced at the duck. Though his dance was spectacular, his eyes contained no joy or sorrow. "Why must you dance so sadly? I want to see you smile. I wish I could do something to see him smile. I'd do anything for that." While she pondered what his smile would look like, the young Pegasus started to fade away. "You would do anything, you say?" asked a mysterious voice. "Quack...?" "I'm sure you can, little duck." While the duckling looked around to find the source of the voice, she noticed a silhouette coming out from the shadows. In fear, she sat there paralyzed. Not knowing what to do in this situation, the figure came towards the light and appeared as a changeling. "Aah!" screamed Duck. "A monster!" As Duck intended to fly away, she started to flap her wings. When she woke up, she was waving her arms frantically and fell from her bed. In relief, she glanced at her body to ensure if it was real or a dream. "Whew. What a relief." The young earth pony hummed a tune inside her mind. Though she lived in a house near Pinkie Pie's Sugar Cube Corner, she prepared food for the birds outside her window. "Good morning!" she greeted, but was interrupted with a swarm of birds coming in. "Wait!" While the birds started to eat their food, she placed the bowl towards the side. When they followed their food, the mare got up from the floor and tried to clean herself up. "I had another good dream~!" She declared, "I mean: sure, it was bad being a duck, but at least I was able to see my beloved prince again: Angelic Wing." While she glanced towards the house across the street, Ponyville tower started to ring. Thinking that she overslept, her mind started to change into panic mode. "Augh! I'm late! Why didn't you wake me up, Pinkie?!" While she fled towards the door, an earth pony named Pinkie Pie glanced towards the window next door. With her cape flying towards the sky, she trotted all the way towards the ballet academy. While running, she then started to think about her dream. 'Maybe that's why I dream of being a duck, because my name is Duck.' She thought to herself. 'Though Angelic Wing is a fantastic dancer, I would give anything to dance a pas de deux with him just once.' She chuckled so lightly that she forgot about her being late. When she recalled within one moment, Duck then returned to panic mode and fled. When she got towards the classroom, Duck bowed in apology without glancing towards the classroom. "I'm sorry...'" she replied in a tired tone, "for being late." She then glanced upward to expect disappointment, but to her surprise, there was no one there. While walking about quietly, music started to play. When Duck heard music, she glanced at the figure ahead. In the shadows, Duck had recognized the pony in front of her: it was Angelic Wing himself. He was a young white Pegasus with a heart contained with angel wings as his own cutie mark. Though he doesn't talk much, he was a fantastic dancer and was one of the students in the advanced class. Duck glanced in awe as the Pegasus started to jump in the air with his wings spreading out. When he landed softly towards the ground, he noticed Duck staring at him. " Oh, I'm sorry. Am I disturbing you? I'll leave right away." As she did so, her cape was between her legs and allowed herself to slip. Instead of falling forward as any pony would expect, she started to fall backwards. Duck closed her eyes expecting to hurt herself towards the ground. However, when she opened her eyes, Duck realized that Angelic Wing caught her on time. 'Wow, his eyes are so beautiful,' she thought to herself, 'It's like they're drawing me in... but they look so lonely. Why?' It didn't take long to realize that Duck was laying on top of Angelic Wing's left wing this whole time. With such worry, she got up from the ground and apologized. 'I'm sorry I caused you such distress. I didn't know what I was doing. I'm such a weird mare, don't you think?" "No..." "Wait. You don't think I'm weird?" He shook his head. With such praise by a pony of her dreams, she started to fall towards the ground with such high hopes. As Duck was filled with joy, a dark black unicorn walked in with a navy blue escot dangling on his neck and a suit on his body. "So, this is where I find you, Wing?" he griped. "Night..." 'Spiraling Night?!' Duck remarked to herself. "I told you to tell me where you'll be so I don't worry. We're leaving." "Okay..." As he glanced towards Duck, she could tell that he wanted nothing to do with her. Though he and Angelic Wing was by each other's side, Angelic Wing did what he was told by Spiraling Night. As he glared, Angelic Wing tugged on Night's escot with his hoof. "What's wrong, Wing?" "My wing..." "What about it? Did you twist it?" He nodded lightly. "Hopeless." "It was my fault." Duck apologized, "He tried to save me from falling and I didn't realize that-" "No need for your excuses." he barked towards her, "Come on, Wing. We're going." "Don't be so rough towards him. He's injured." "Quiet!" As they left Duck alone, she sat there alone. However, another bell started to catch her attention. That moment, Duck soon realized that she came so early to class. When ballet class had finished later on, Duck, Pinkie, and a white unicorn named Rarity were walking through the streets of Ponyville, finding a place to eat for today. "Why is it every time you wake up, you end up coming to class early, Duck?" Rarity asked. "I was panicked, okay?" "Well, no matter the case," Pinkie awed, "you'll always be our friend." "Hey, don't worry about it. You had the chance to meet with the legendary ballerino, Spiraling Night." "He's not that legendary." "Oh yeah? How would you know?" "I know that the pony who is more legendary than him would be Angelic Wing." "But didn't you hear? He's taken by another mare." "What? Who?" "Ruby Breeze, silly" Pinkie explained. "She's one of the best ballerina in the ballet academy. Her and Angelic Wing are in a relationship." "I see..." "Don't worry about it! You'll always find your relationship soon enough." Though Duck smiled in agreement, she noticed that something just didn't feel right. She realized that everything seemed too familiar that it didn't clicked at all. While pondering the matter, she sighed lightly. "What's wrong, darling?" Rarity inquired "Is it weird to just show up?" Duck asked. "Show up?" "Well, I say it's weird, but if it isn't, then it's not, right?" "What's this?" "Even if it is weird!" "Not for you, Duck!" Pinkie encouraged. "I just got to go!" "Got to go where?" Rarity asked. "Okay, I'm going!" "But dear-" "See you two later!" "Where's she going?" Rarity asked as Duck trotted away. "Who knows, but I think she'll be hungry when she comes back. Let's get her some hay burgers in the meantime." Pinkie suggested. While Duck started to run towards Angelic Wing's home, she stopped for a second and sighed. Her plan was to apologize and then move on. However, when she was close to knocking on the door, Duck felt like she couldn't do it. "You are such a coward!" she stated to herself. "May I help you?" Another voice replied. When she turned around, Duck noticed Spiraling Night standing there with bags of food levitated in the air. "Oh. Is Angelic Wing-" Duck asked. "He's not here." Spiraling Night answered bluntly while walking towards the door. "Yeah, so, where is-" "Go home." While he closed the door, Night heard Duck crying in pain. The unicorn turned around and glanced at the mare in question. "How is his injury?" "It's not serious." "I like to apologize-" "No need for that." As Duck started to get up from the ground, she glanced towards Spiraling Night. "Are you like this to every pony?" He closed the door before answering her question. With such rage, she stomped towards her home, murmuring in her breath. What she didn't know was Angelic Wing stood near the window to view the ponies nearby. When he heard the door open, the wounded Pegasus glanced towards Spiraling Night. "Wing?" "Night." "Didn't I tell you to stay in bed?" "Sorry." "Is your wing better?" "I don't know." Spiraling Night ignited his horn to unwind the bandage on his wing and replace it with a new set. "You are useless, Wing. Helping others is something you should forget." "Yes..." "All you have to do is listen to what I tell you, got it?" "Yes..." That night, Duck lays on her bed, eating the food Pinkie brought for her. "Great. After all that, I never apologized to him about his injury. I'm a terrible mare. I hope his wing's okay. Those eyes always look so lonely, but why is that? However, if there's something I can do to help him or put a smile on his face, I'd do it." While she pondered, a laughter started to echo throughout Ponyville. While Duck heard some laughter, she glanced towards the window, seeing a shadowed pony walking throughout the night. As she left her house, Duck was unable to find that figure. All around her were things frozen in time. "That pony... is not here." "Yes, I am." the voice replied. "I wonder who that was?" "Did you forget about me already?" "This seems... familiar out here." While she stared towards the direction of the mysterious pony, the mysterious voice giggled evilly. "Do you want to know... well, do you honestly want to know... little Duck?" Thinking that she heard her name from somewhere, the mare looked around, but no pony was there. Within those few moments, time started to move again. The following morning, Spiraling Night started to get ready for ballet class. Angelic Wing, who was still recovering his wing, sat on his bed. "I'm off to class. When I return, I'll bring you some treats over from Sugar Cube Corner. Don't eat the cupcakes except for the ones I tell you to eat." "Okay." "Don't make me worry about you." When Spiraling Night left the room, Angelic Wing only sighed and walked towards the window. Most of the ponies were walking towards their daily duties. As Spiraling Night was out of sight, Duck, Pinkie and her pet alligator Gummy glanced towards the direction of the house. "Okay." "Operation: AWOL is a go!" "Wait? AWOL?" "Angelic Wing's Opened Love." "Love?" "You're gonna see him, tell him how you feel and maybe there will be a higher chance for you to go out with him, right?" "I haven't thought of that." "Don't worry. Gummy and I will disguise as you in your ballet class while you go tell him your feelings." "Uh... Okay." "Come on, Gummy! Let's go!" As Pinkie and Gummy were out of sight, Duck glanced towards the home, intending to try again. However, as she was about to leave Sugar Cube Corner, she heard bird noises nearby. When she glanced towards the sound, Duck noticed a canary with little birds learning to fly. As one of the fledgling started to fly towards the sky, the other started to hesitate. Though Duck would've went towards the poor creature, she heard a window opening. She looked and noticed Angelic Wing getting up on the window sill. "Be careful!" Duck stated in worry. Angelic Wing only glanced at the poor fledgling as it sat there scared. Though it would've been beautiful to see, a dark bird went towards the young fledgling. In defense, the canary attacked the dark bird to protect her young. However, when the bird flew away for a moment, it returned to strike again. The fledgling starts to fall towards the ground and Angelic Wing starts to reach for it with his non-injured wing. "No!" Within those few moments, Angelic Wing caught the bird in his wing, but starts to fall towards the ground. "Oh no!" "Oh dear," the voice narrated, "The Prince is going to die?" 'Prince?' Duck thought to herself. "Yes, the hero meets his death." 'Death?' "What's going to happen in this story? You must tell me how it ends. Will the prince be rescued on time? Who in the world will save him?" "But who?" As she stated those words, her amulet, which she wore to hold her cape, started to glow. "Yes, I wonder who... little duck." "Wait..." While she thought of this, she recalled this same scenario where she saved Prince Mytho before when he fell from his window, but now it looks like history started to repeat itself in this universe. "That's right. I will save the Prince." "Yes... you now remember who you are?" "Yes, I do. I am Princess Tutu." Her amulet started to glow bright as the sun, allowing the mare to change into Princess Tutu. The cape, which hid her tail, started to change into a tutu. Her wings and horn started to appear as well, making herself become an alicorn. When her transformation was completed, Princess Tutu started to fly towards Angelic Wing as fast as she could. "Flower Waltz!" demanded the princess. Her horn started to ignite, allowing several flowers to grow around his landing. While Wing prepared to die, he opened his eyes, seeing an alicorn with flower magic. As he landed softly to the ground, Princess Tutu helped him upward. The fledgling, which he held on his right wing, was safe and flew away from the two. "And to think I was able to help you, Angelic Wing. It's like a dream." "How do you... know my name? And you, who are you?" "I'm..." "Who indeed?" implied the voice. "Well, I'm..." "You are a duck. Just a bird called a duck!" "QUACK?!" She responded with such shock. In fear, she backed away from Angelic Wing at a distant and ran away from him. While she ran towards the pond, her form started to change into an actual duck. "Quack..." As she fell towards the ground, the amulet she wore on her neck was released from her body. 'Not again...' She thought to herself. "Oh dear. Princess Tutu had been turned back into a duck. What to do now?" Vow of a Generous AlicornDays have passed, Duck was sitting on her bed, thinking of the heart shard she met before. When she met a heart shard the first time, it was for Senior Mytho's heart shard, but when she met a heart shard the second time, it was not Angelic Wing's heart shard, but Senior Mytho again. While she thought of the matter, a small knock came from downstairs. With one swift run, Duck answered the door, seeing a bright purple unicorn with striped color mane. "Hey Twilight. Thank you for coming." "Of course, Duck. What seems to be the problem?" "Well, you see, there's a certain favor I want to know: does you know of a book called the Prince and the Raven?" "I'm sure I've heard of it before. Why don't we go to my place and I'll see if we can find it there?" "Okay." Hours have passed, both Twilight, Duck, and Twilight's assistant Spike were looking through the library, searching for that particular book. "I'm sorry, Duck." Twilight apologized, "I don't believe I know any stories like that anywhere." "Oh. Okay." As she started to walk away, Duck then recalled something else. "What about a spell regarding of a powerful unicorn wizard?" "You mean, Starswirl the Bearded?" "Who?" "You don't know about him?" "No... I haven't." "This pony right here." As she shown her a picture from the reference guide to the elements of harmony, it was like her pony form started to recall meeting that individual somewhere. "Since you know Starswirl, Twilight," Duck asked, "do you know if there's a spell to bring things to life?" "What do you mean by that?" "Like... bring characters from a story into reality?" "I don't know if he did... Tell you what? I'll find information through the library here, Canterlot and at the Crystal Empire and I'll let you know if there's such thing." "Okay. Thank you." "I hope to see you soon." "Okay." While walking about, she then seen Ruby Breeze and Angelic Wing walking about. Though she wasn't sure where they were going, Duck felt a bit depressed. "Lucky him. At least he's having fun with some pony, but if you put it lightly, I'm just a duck." When Duck was about to go to Sugar Cube Corner to meet with Pinkie, Duck bumped into Spiraling Night without even looking forward. "Watch it!" he demanded, but noticed that the pony which bumped into him was Duck, "You!" "Sorry. Please excuse me." "Wait." She froze in mid walk, not sure what she did wrong. "Have you seen Wing anywhere?" "Why? Is something wrong?" "He left without telling me. That's not like him at all." "Why should that surprise you? After all, he's always with Ruby Breeze." "So, he's with Breeze?" "Who's to say?" "Where'd they go?" "How should I know?" "Don't lie to me!" "I'm telling the truth. If I knew, I would've told you already." "Unless you're hiding it from me." Spiraling Night started to leave as Duck stood there mad as ever. 'Geez, he reminds me of Fakir very much. Oh. I wonder if he knows about the story.' "Wait." "What is it?" "Do you know about the story called the Prince and the Raven?" "Why do you want to know?" "Well..." "That book is a waste of any pony's time." While he walked away, it dawned for a moment. 'He knows the story. Then, he must know about Wing's heart situation, right? Maybe I'm just thinking too much.' "Now, come on little ones." A familiar voice replied from a distant. "You can do it." When Duck turned aside, she noticed Fluttershy, directing little bunnies to their pens. "Fluttershy!" "It's been a while Duck." "What'cha doing?" "I'm leading these bunnies in their pens, so any pony can have them as pets." "You can have a pet here, even as a pony?" "Absolutely." "Okay, but I have a problem." "What's wrong?" "Could you walk with me and I'll tell you about it?" "Sure. Let me get this last bunny on the pen and we'll go from here." After their walk, she then explained how a certain pony whom she knew many moons ago appears, but it's something that is different than before. "Sometimes, ponies meet with others from the past, some from the present, but few in the future. If the ponies you've seen before meet you in the present, then there's a chance of seeing them in the future." "That means if I've seen them before, then I'll see them again?" "Who's to say?" "But if I see them again, would that mean in spirit or in real life? I don't get it. Well, thanks anyway, Fluttershy. See you later." "Bye bye." Sometime later, as Duck was wandering through the park, she noticed Angelic Wing and Ruby Breeze sitting on the park, having a small picnic. "I guess they're having fun there." "Wing..." Breeze replied, "can you tell me that you love me?" 'What?!' thought Duck embarrassingly. 'If I stay here, they'll find me here. I better get going.' "I love you." Wing stated. "Very much?" "Yes." "I'm thirsty." "Here." As he handed her a drink of water, Breeze knocked it over, allowing the bottle to remain empty. "I would like some apple cider. Would you mind?" "Sure." He rose from his seat and flew towards Sweet Apple Acres. Duck, glancing towards the beauty of his flight, started to remind her of how she'll fly someday. Minutes passed, as Duck started to walk by, she started to recall Fakir. Though it had been months since she came into this world, Duck was starting to feel homesick. Suddenly, she bumped into a pony. When Duck glanced upward, Angelic Wing stood there with a bottle filled with apple cider. "An-Angelic Wing..." "Are you alright?" "I am." "You seem to be lying." "Am I?" "Then again, I may not understand what any feeling is for any pony." "You don't understand feelings, Angelic Wing?" "Wing is fine." When he stated the matter, a cut started to go through the Pegasus' front leg. "Oh! Wing, your leg." "Leg." "It's wounded." "Is it? Then why are you upset?" "Because, you need to treat it." "Really, Night and Breeze doesn't see it that way." 'Those eyes. I guess you can't blame him. His feelings aren't "Then, I'll do my best!" "In what?" "On everything. I want to do my best on everything. Now, to get that injury cleaned. Come on." While they walked about to find an antidote, Duck couldn't get her mind off of Fakir. Few miles have passed, Duck glanced upward and noticed she was not in town. "I'm sorry for not paying attention," apologized Duck. "do you know where we can clean that injury?" "There." pointed Angelic Wing. When she looked towards the direction he was pointing to, it was a clinic. "That may work." When they started to walk towards the door, a certain figure appeared in the window, wanting to know who they were. Meanwhile, as Ruby Breeze was resting her wings, she noticed another pony coming near. "Where's Wing?" Spiraling Night asked. "Why?" "You know that I don't like it when you take Wing without telling me." "So, what? He doesn't belong to you." "Nor to you." Ruby Breeze stood from her seat as Spiraling Night continued. "Wing made mentioned of a feeling..." "What's that?" "Where is he?" "He went for some cider at Sweet Apple Acres, but hasn't come back yet." "By himself?" "Who do you think? You're being scared over nothing." "Fine. I'll go find him at Sweet Apple Acres." When he was almost out of sight, Breeze grabbed him by the tail with her hoof. "I'm coming with you." With such disagreement, Night and Breeze went towards Sweet Apple Acres to see if they can find him. At that exact time, both Angelic Wing and Duck were knocking at the clinic door. "Excuse me." "What do you want?!" A voice inside growled. "This is a clinic, right?" "Who wants to know?!" "You see, my friend here has injured his hoof. Is there any way that we can get a bandage?" "I don't help penniless ponies here. Go bother some pony else." Though his words were harsh, Duck noticed her amulet glowing. 'If the amulet's glowing, does that mean this pony has a heart shard?' "Please sir, we need to clean it up or it will make things worse for him." "No way, no how." As she continued to convince the clinic to open, a door opens slightly. "Ma'am..." A colt calls. "you need help?" "Yes." "Come in here." In quiet terms, both Duck and Angelic Wing started to walk towards the back door. A little colt with a doctor toy stood there happy and concerned. "I'm Dr. Bendy Aid. What seems to be the matter?" "Wing's got an injured hoof." "Let me see." When he glanced at Wing's hoof cut, he only gasped and ran towards the sink. With a warm soapy towel, he ran towards Wing's hoof to clean the mess carefully. "Injuries like this is dangerous. You're lucky he hasn't been sick or something." "Thank you." "Here: have a bandage. I'll give you this bird bandage. It looks pretty on you." "Thank you..." "We'll pay you back." "For what? You mentioned that this was a minor injury." "Yeah, but that pony-" "That's my father." "Why is he mad?" "I honestly don't know, but ever since mom died, he hasn't been the same since." "I see." "Bendy Aid!" called a stallion. When Ben heard his father coming in, he had to hide the group. "I need you two to run!" "Why?" Wing asked. "My father's a mean stallion and if he comes here, seeing me giving you help for free, then he'll provide me a punishment that I'll never forget." "But if we leave, then he'll hurt you." "Please, hide." Before Duck could state anything, a tall dark stallion glared at the ponies in question. "Who are you two and why are you in here uninvited?! Explain, son!" "Well, you see..." "We needed help sir." "What?" "My friend was wounded badly and needed something to clean." "Then why didn't you go somewhere else?!" "We didn't know if it would be too late." "Because of this, I'm allowing one of you to work here and the other to go home! Which ones will it be? What about you? Would it be alright if you stayed here?" "Probably." Angelic Wing mentioned. With one move, he threw Duck out of the house and locked behind her. "Oh, no. Wing. What can I do?" "It seems like the story is going awry." Cavalier stated, "Shards hide in homes and make stories of their own. However, with this tale, how will you handle this, Princess Tutu?" Her amulet started to glow bright as the sun, allowing the stallion to see what was going on. When he opened the door, Princess Tutu started to come lightly towards the two ponies. "Please, my prince. Rest for a while." suggested Princess Tutu. "My slave! Give him back! Unless you got cash to give." "Please come dance with me, Monsieur Ned Cine." "I don't dance. I'm a doctor, not a dancer. Give him back and leave now!" "What do you hope to gain by forcing him to work?" "To pay back a bandage that he never earned in his life." "Yes, but why?" "What do you mean why? It isn't right for a pony to take things that aren't theirs. That's what friendship would be." "By doing things for work and doing things on their own is what true friendship should ever be." both Ned Cine and the heart shard replied. In her heart, Duck noticed that the heart shard is a similar resemblance of Fakir. However, in this distress, she could tell that he was aching. "This isn't where you belong, shard. Please come back." "You're not taking him from me." "Father!" cried Bendy Aid. "A real clinic helps ponies with money and nothing more is necessary." "Then, why do you shut away other ponies with no money? Harm the one pony who cared for you? To grow up like you? Please tell me, what you are feeling?" "What I'm...feeling?" "Come dance with me." As they danced forward, he then explained what happened to his heart. When he and his wife were working a suitable business, she was blessed with child. They would've been a happy couple and have it as a family business, but as time passed, she was sick. In order to prevent any problems for the child, he asked for help, but no pony came. When Bendy Aid was born, she died sickly. In hatred and greed, he didn't want to help another pony due to him not having that same generous spirit as before. "I see. You are the feeling of generosity." "The feeling of generosity..." "I want you to return back to the pony that you belong with." "I must go. Good-bye." "But if you leave, then I'll have no other pony to help me." "Don't worry Monsieur Cine. You won't be left alone. You have a friend and a child given to you by love. A generous gift from the mare who loved you." "What?" When he glanced sadly towards his son, tears streamed down towards the ground. How could he be so blind to forget the generous gift his wife had provided him? A gifted child who wanted to help his father out, no matter what any pony says. "My...my son... I'm sorry." "It's alright, Daddy. If you want to give ponies the kindness and a generous spirit, we would make this the best clinic ever." "I'm sure your mother would be proud of us." When the two disappeared, Angelic Wing woke from his slumber and glanced towards Princess Tutu. She held on to the shard of his heart; then, levitated towards him to allow another part of his cutie mark glow. Before she prepared to leave again, she felt a hoof on her wing. "Thank you, Princess Tutu..." He responded. Without a word, she nodded with a smile and teleported from that spot. Wing, with his hoof cleaned and healed, stood there silently at the road. Duck, who stood in the shadow, noticed Wing alone. She knew that if she went towards him and apologized for being late, then they would return back towards the park. However, when she prepared to go towards him, Night and Breeze came in. "There you are, Wing." Night called out. "What happened?" "Tutu..." 'Wait. He knows that I'm her?' "She came to me and healed my wound..." "Princess Tutu?" "Be serious, Wing. That's just a legend." 'Wait. Tutu's a legend? But isn't she part of a story?' "Starswirl mentions of a white alicorn with magic beyond all belief in his prophecy, but in reality, she's a mere princess who never can love another pony. It is told that when she confesses her feelings to him, she would lose her ability to be an alicorn and die." In fear, she ran away from the group. Not knowing what's true and fake, she had to ensure that if she returns back home, everything would go back to normal. However, fate decided to take matters in their own hooves. Bat PonyDuck, who had pondered about the shards and legends, it was starting to become scary for her. Two times since she became Princess Tutu, the shards would show as people she's seen in her dimension. Not knowing the connection between the shards and her, she also was concerned as to why she's seen them now. "Why the long face, Duck?" Pinkie asked. "I'm just thinking." "About what?" "Some pony..." "Aw, cheer up. Why, I bet you that you'll meet him again soon. I guarantee it!" "You think so?" "Absolutely!" "Thanks Pinkie..." While she smiled and hopped along to their destination, Duck glanced at the side. 'Though I don't think it's possible. He's in a different world and I'm stuck here. It's not like he'll be here to meet me.' "Hey, Applejack!" Pinkie called out. When she glanced at the earth pony, Duck smiled a bit and recalled what happened the other day. "Princess Tutu?" Spiraling Night mentioned. "She's just a legend: a mere princess who never can love another pony. It is told that when she confesses her feelings to him, she would lose her ability to be an alicorn and die." Breeze remarked. 'That's what legends say. Tutu isn't real to other ponies...' Duck protested to herself, 'but then again, that's what I said when I was in my other world. Who cares? All I'm doing is getting pieces of Wing's heart and return home. I'm not thinking about being with him or confessing.' Since she made her mind clearly, both Applejack, Pinkie Pie, and Duck started to help making apple pies, but realized that she didn't need to allow her depression get in the way of true friendship. Meanwhile, when both Wing and Breeze were sitting in the gazebo, enjoying the view, Wing started to hear voices. "Is something the matter, Wing?" "I don't understand..." "Of what?" "This feeling...of seeing some pony smile...is this loneliness?" "Wing!" Night called from a distant. "Return home. I need to speak with Breeze." "Okay." When he was out of sight, Night glared at Breeze carefully. "Are you this pony that's helping him think of these 'emotions'?" "You believe I would do such a thing?" "Then who, might I ask?" "Maybe it was that Princess Tutu that the legend proclaimed. If that's the case, then Starswirl knew that she'd return again." "If you truly believe that so much, then stay away from Wing." "You cannot tell me what to do." While she and Night glared at each other, they both knew for certain that Wing was certainly changing for the better. Later that night, Duck was putting away some apple pies she earned from Applejack. Though it had been a while for her to be hear things from Twilight, she knew that nothing will change her heart of being able to see Fakir again. Suddenly, she noticed her window breezing so heavily. When Duck started to lock the windows tightly, she noticed Wing standing between his and her home. 'What's he doing?' She got out from her home to find out what he was doing, but when Duck did so, Wing started to speak. "Where are you?" "Who are you talking to?" Duck whispered. At that exact moment, wind started to blow so hard that Duck tried to hold the door before her and the door flew away. However, when the wind died down, she realized that Wing was gone. "Where did he go?" She ran towards the middle of the road to find Wing, but nothing was there. However, when she turned aside, Breeze was coming near her path. "What are you doing?" "I... I saw Wing coming through this area." "I didn't see some pony." "Really? That's strange?" "Wait a minute." Breeze recalled, "you were that mare that screamed when I was trying to land lightly towards the ground during my dancing practice." "Oh. About that, I-" "Do you know how hard it is to be able to take such time to be able to perfect a landing with grace?" "Look, I'm sorry about that, but I need to find Wing. He's acting strange. See ya." Duck started to trot as fast as she could to the opposite direction to find Wing, leaving poor Breeze behind. "Hold on. Come back here!" Ruby Breeze went to chase after Duck, but her wings couldn't fly as fast as Duck's speed. While they were in downtown Ponyville, Duck started to figure out why Wing was speaking with something. Though it wasn't normal for a pony like him to disappear, she had to ensure that nothing should happen to him. "Wait..." Breeze called out in a tired tone. "You're...Duck...right? You...run...so fast..." "Oh. Sorry about that." "Don't mock me. I'm trying to calm down." "Oh. Okay." While they started to walk about the town, Duck tried to find Wing while Breeze tried to relax her wings. She's never been so tired before. Duck felt terrible for running and wounding Breeze this way. "You know, we could go our separate ways and see if we can find Wing." "That may be. It would be strange for an earth pony, like yourself be walking with a mare with such standards." "Standards? Uh, okay. Then, I'll go there and you go there. We'll meet at a certain spot and time, to see if there are clues to Wing's whereabouts." "You know what's better?" "What?" "Being able to work together. It would be easier and faster." "Oh. I guess I never thought of that before. Then, we'll find Wing together." They continued to walk towards town to find him all throughout the night. "May I ask you something?" "What is it?" "Have you and Wing been friends for a long time?" "Why do you keep calling him Wing? He would prefer it if you call him Angelic Wing." "Yeah, but he told me that I can call him Wing." "Also, I'd prefer if you call me Ruby Breeze. It's unprofessional to call me by my last name." "Oh. Ruby...Breeze?" "What? Is it that hard for you to say my name?" "Well, saying your full name isn't easy, but you prefer to not be called as Breeze, so may I call you Rue?" "Rue?" "Yeah. It shortens your name, it's cuter, and we've been friends for long enough." 'Cuter?' "Then Rue it is! No Wing though, right Rue?" With such distraught, Breeze continued onward as both her and Duck continued looking for Wing. Darkness started to devour the town that the two mares were concerned of Wing's whereabouts. However, they heard bats flying towards the Everfree Forest. When they glanced upward, the two noticed Wing flying with the bats also. "Where's he going?" "To the underworld..." answered a voice. The two heard a ghastly voice that they stood there scared. When they turned around, however, it was a bright blue pegasus with rainbow colored mane and Fluttershy glancing at the bat migration. "Fluttershy?" "Hello, Ruby Breeze. Good evening, Duck." "Evening, Fluttershy. Rainbow Dash." "What did you mean, he's going to the underworld, Rainbow?" "There was a tale where a count and a mare fell in love. However, the count was betrothed by another." Fluttershy explained. "Then what happened?" "Devastated, his maiden ended her life by becoming a bat pony. If she cannot love him as a mare, then she could be with him as a bat. However, the count died due to sickness and she was never able to return as a mare. She waits for her love to come and bring happiness." "How tragic." "Within this world, another mare fell in love, but as in the story, their love could never be together, but unlike that story, the mare dies of a broken heart." "Are you saying that this story may be real in this world?" "It has and will be." The Ponyville Tower started to ring, thinking that they may be too late. "We have to go, Rue. If we stay here, then Wing will become a bat pony." "Yes, I can't let that happen." When they ran towards the Everfree, Wing stood at the empty castle, glancing towards the window. "Have you called me?" The wind blew lightly. "Then come to me and I shall be yours." "Wing?" "Who are you speaking with?" Within one moment, the bats started to form all around Wing, allowing the bat pony maiden to appear. While the two glanced upward, Duck could sense her amulet glowing. It had to come from the bat pony who was depressed and lonely. The bat pony flew all around him to possess him as her prey. When she was close to his neck, he closed his eyes to prepare to become a bat pony himself. "You must resist!" Breeze called. "Rue, no!" "You'll become a bat pony for all eternity. Come with me." In such distress, both Breeze and the bat pony maiden started to fly around to determine who will take him by their side. While he glanced at the two, the bats started to protect him. However, Breeze knew that her wings started to ache terribly. Though she hasn't flown this long before, Breeze knew that this wasn't going to last. With their last flap, Breeze fell towards the ground due to having wing cramps. "Rue!" Duck cried. While they glanced carefully, the bat pony maiden slowly walked towards Wing again to take his life. "No, don't!" When she started to run towards him, the bat started to attack the mare defenseless. "Oh no." "Oh yes," Drosselmeyer replied in a distant. "The prince will become a bat pony for all of his days and shall never return as a stallion with a heart. Will you have that, Princess Tutu?" Her amulet started to glow bright as the sun, allowing the mare to change into Princess Tutu. The cape, which hid her tail, started to change into a tutu. Her wings and horn started to appear as well, making herself become an alicorn. When her transformation was completed, Princess Tutu started to fly towards Angelic Wing as fast as she could. "Stop! You mustn't resist the dark, my prince." Princess Tutu assured. Both Wing and Breeze glanced at Princess Tutu with her beauty. With such hatred and distress, the bat pony maiden walked towards the Princess in defense. Princess Tutu used her horn to understand her language and feeling. 'Who are you? Why do you want him to not be with me?' "I am Princess Tutu. Just like you, I have been selected to never love a stallion." 'Never love?' "Come dance with me, please?" For a few moments, both the bat pony maiden and Princess Tutu flew all around the sky, dancing the night away with hope and love. Breeze couldn't believe her eyes. An alicorn who was deemed a legend would be able to stay in sync with the maiden. 'How come you are not sad and depressed as I if we both share the same destiny?' "Because there are other feelings that would not give in to depression." 'Other feelings?' "You remember when you loved the count? He brought you happiness and laughter. That is what you truly felt. However, when he never came after you were turned into a bat pony, you lost that laughter in your heart and gave in to the sorrow. Be at peace, dear maiden. You mustn't grieve anymore." 'Thank you.' The beast then started to disappear, allowing a shard of a familiar figure appear in front of her eyes: Lillie. When the bat pony maiden disappeared, both her and the bats were gone from sight. "Here, my prince. The feeling of laughter. Though this is joy in pony's life, it also can contain sorrow. It's still an important item to receive." Her horn levitated the shard towards Wing, allowing another piece of his cutie mark to be restored. Tears started to fall towards the ground as he started to cry with joy. With a smile on her face, she used her magic to teleport from their location, leaving the two ponies in the middle of the Everfree forest. Heart Shard of HonestyDuck, waking up from unconscious, barely recognized the forest. As she used her hoof to rub her head, Duck realized that her hooves were now feathers. "QUACK?! Oh no! How did I end up here?" She ran as fast as she could towards the lake to see her reflection. "So, I am a duck, but how'd I end up as a pony? I know I was a girl in human form, but now I'm a mare in this world? It doesn't make any sense." "What fun is it in making sense, little duck?" "Drosselmeyer? Where are you?" "Right here." Duck slowly turned aside, seeing a draconequus with a fedora over his head. In fear, she started to shake her feathers. "Why... Why did you bring me here?" "What makes you think I brought you here, little duck?" "Because this story is obvious. It's the Prince and the Raven." "That may be, but I didn't summon you here. I'm far from making stories since you allowed the wholehearted prince and the raven princess return back in the story." "Then who-" "That would be my doing." A new voice replied. Duck turned aside and noticed an ugly changeling coming near her and Drosselmeyer. "Who are you?" "You may refer to me as Cavalier." "So, you brought me here?" "Yes." "Why?" "Let's say a story that was given by Drosselmeyer himself was the key that was able to unlock from a magic spell from a unicorn wizard." "Wizard?" "Yes. He was the most powerful wizard who ever lived by pony kind, but no pony knew the reason of his plan. In order to let you return back into your world, you need a resolution to restore the broken heart of a Pegasus prince from before." "Wait. You can send me back to the world I am from?" "But of course, if you have your reason?" "I do, I do! I would like to return back to the world to see Fakir again. He may worry about me being somewhere far away. However, if this world is falling in the same fate as my world did before, then I'll do anything to save it." "Congrats. Drossel, my dear. Would you be kind to give this duck her amulet." "But of course. Isn't it great for stories to come to life?" When he handed Duck the amulet, she then transformed from a duck into a mare. As she was back on all fours, Drosselmeyer and Cavalier started to disappear. "Remember this, if you do or say anything resembling a duck, you'll see soon enough." Though Duck didn't understand the matter, she realized that she was without her cape. As she looked around, figuring out why she needs to cover herself, Duck finally realized as to why. Right when she turned around, a duck-like tail was behind her pony body. "Quack!" She cried. As soon as those words came out of her mouth, her form returned back into a duck. A few minutes passed, Duck started to wake up again, thinking that she was dreaming. "Where am I... and why am I..." When she glanced at her hoof, Duck realized that her hooves were now feathers. "A duck!" In fear, she started to run toward the lake to look at her reflection. "I am a duck. So, was the place I was at a dream? Of course." As Duck started to swim on the water, the amulet started to glow, allowing her to sink deep inside. However, her form started to change back into a pony. As she emerged from the water, Duck glanced at herself. Before she could quack, Duck was then reminded what happened if she stated that again. "Oh. What's this?" She glanced at the water, seeing the amulet as before. "This amulet... It's not a dream." While pondering the matter, she heard a magnificent voice singing through the trees. While glancing towards the direction, a bright yellow Pegasus was singing tunes of the trees. When the mare glanced at Duck, she smiled. "Hello there, little duck." "Wait, how'd you know-" "You have a duck like quality." "Quality?" "Like how you look for example." "How I look?" "You could say that your tail is a dead giveaway." As she glanced towards her duck tail, her face was bright red with embarrassment and hid her entire body inside the water. "I believe this is yours." Fluttershy stated as she held out her cape. "Thank you." As Duck started to get off from the water, she was cold as ice. Fluttershy whistled for assistance with the animals all around her. After a few moments, Duck had her cape fixed, dried up from being in the lake, and was walking down the streets of Ponyville with Fluttershy. "So, if I'm here in this world, then how did I end up out from my world? And if I'm from my world, then why isn't any one from my world here as well? Or is it just me that can access this world? Great. I'm really lost." "Two worlds that parallel within the dimension intend to grow different as before. With friendship by your side, your answers will become stronger than ever." "I'm afraid you lost me too, Fluttershy..." "Then can we meet again?" "Sure." Duck started to trot towards her class and saw Angelic Wing reading a book. She stopped for a moment, glancing with a smile on her face. Knowing the events that happened the other day, Duck pondered for a moment to see if he knows about it. "Even if he did, I doubt he'd know if it was me saving him." She sighed in defeat; then thought of something. "What if he found out I was an actual duck like the bird? I wonder what his response would be? 'A duck? You're the worst. No wonder you talk like a duck. Shoo, shoo!' Or maybe 'Ew, you smell like a bird. Go away!' I don't think he'll say 'My favorite: let's dig in.' He's a vegetarian, after all. Maybe I need to keep it a secret." She glanced towards the prince once again. "He does remind me of Senior Mytho when he lost his heart... Oh. I haven't apologized his wing as of yet. I'm going to do so!" When Angelic Wing heard Duck, he closed the book and glanced towards the pony. She ran towards him to talk with him directly. "I'm sorry!" Duck stated apologetically. "For what?" Wing asked. "You wing the other day. Is it aching?" "It's healing." "Oh good. I hope you fly soon." "Thank you." Though she never spoke with any pony like this, Duck wanted to make a decent conversation with Angelic Wing on anything. "You reading a book?" 'Of course, he's reading a book. What are you thinking?' "You like books?" 'Oh great. I'm being an egghead.' "Is the book interesting?" 'Of course, it is. He wouldn't read it if it wasn't.' "I don't know..." "You don't know?" "I don't know if I do like books or not." 'Those eyes again. They do look so lonely.' "Good day, Angelic Wing." a voice responded. "Oh, good day-" Duck stated, but stopped mid-sentence when she saw a giraffe. 'A giraffe? Why that? I know I'm a duck, but still-' "May I sit next to you?" "Sure." When the giraffe sat down, Duck was surprised at the length of her neck. "What do you think about Ms. Breeze?" "Not sure." "You love her, right?" "Maybe." "You know, I think you can do better." "Really?" "You be with me and I'll make sure that your love for her goes away." "Okay..." "Oh, Wing..." Duck was surprised at his response. What surprised her the most was how the giraffe named Barre was holding him. Though it looked like a snake grasping its prey, she couldn't resist it. "Excuse me..." Duck apologized as she left the area. Since she couldn't hold it back any longer, she decided to find her class before it began. However, when she saw Ruby Breeze, a dark purple Pegasus, coming by, she started to quack. Regretting that decision, she hid in a bush, allowing her body to change into a duck. "Quack! Quack, Quack!" Duck cried. "How sweet." Breeze stated as she walked away. 'No,' Duck thought, 'Breeze can't understand me. Maybe if I can be a pony again, I can tell her to look away. Where's the water?' While looking about, she found the fountain in the academy grounds. With one quick grasp, she took the cape, carried it towards the bush, entered in the water, allowing the pony form to return. When she got her cape back on, Duck tried to distract Ruby Breeze. "Hello there, Breeze." Barre replied. "Allow me to inform you that Angelic Wing will be with me from now on." "What?" Breeze implied. "It seems clear whom the winner is. Now, excuse us. We have plans later." Barre started to laugh heartedly as Duck stood there concerned. "I'm sure that's not what she means. Don't listen to her. It's-" "Why?" "Huh?" "It doesn't bother me at the least. Thank you for caring about me and the other ponies." Days have passed, the word had spread like wild fire of Angelic Wing and Barre. The one that wasn't pleased with this change was Spiraling Night. One day, as ponies were sitting at Sugar Cube Corner, Barre and Angelic Wing were sitting there, eating a cupcake. Duck and Rarity were watching ever so much, trying to comprehend their relationship. "I cannot believe that Ruby Breeze didn't fight back for him." "I guess it doesn't bother her that much, Rarity." "That may be. Why, if I met a handsome stallion like him, I would fight for my love." "That may be..." While she pondered that matter, Ruby Breeze came in to Sugar Cube Corner. When she was finishing her order, Barre started to laugh loudly. "Well, well. If it isn't the Prodigy of Ballet? I wonder if you would be interested in a dance off." The ponies glared at them with such shock. "The one that is the best gets to be known as the most talented ballerina in all of Equestria." "Very well." "I hope you have a good dance partner, because Wing's with me." "I do." Without any hesitation, she glanced towards Duck. Duck knew when she glanced that she was in a pinch, but not a good one. "Where and when shall we meet?" "Here and now. DJ-Pon3!" DJ-Pon 3 looked over and prepared their musical selection. Pinkie glanced at them and started to smile. "Alright. If we're gonna have a dance off, then we'll vote based on how many ponies clap their hooves. I'll be the judge for this matter. The one with the best not only gets the title, but also gets a free treat at Sweet Apple Acres." Barre and Breeze agree; then, Barre and Angelic Wing started to do their dance from a remix of classical music. Most ponies were surprised at their dancing routine, but Duck noticed something off in their dance. 'She's good, but there's no joy. Why?' As the dance came to a close, the ponies started to clap their hooves. "Well then," Barre replied. "Let's see if you and your dancing partner have what it takes." Ruby Breeze smiled and glanced towards Duck. "Come dance with me." "Wait. Me?" "Of course." "Good luck, darling!" Rarity replied softly. As Duck and Breeze prepared for their next music number, Duck started to shake in fear. "Um... Breeze... I can't do this... You know, I have bad way of dancing with my cape on..." "Don't worry." Ruby Breeze stated, "All you need to do is follow what I do." "Okay." Their dance started off with a remix of Swan Lake. Though her cape started to trample her own hooves, Duck tried her best to make sure that her tail doesn't show in front of every pony. As they came to an end, Duck couldn't stop smiling. She hadn't had this much fun since she was human many years ago. Few moments passed, ponies stood there shocked. A clap started slowly by one pony then throughout the entire room. "You've been great." "Thank you..." As the ponies cheered as well, Barre started to tear up with such hatred and disappointment. Duck noticed her bitter tears and started to walk towards her, but many ponies blocked her path. She didn't know also that Angelic Wing wasn't there either. As she tried to find the two, there was a certain argument that occurred at the park. When she looked over, Barre had just finished yelling at Angelic Wing and was leaving. "Barre..." "Have you come to mock me?" "No, I-" While Barre tried to pass her, Duck could tell she was crying. "Wait!" Duck grasped her hoof, but noticed her amulet starting to glow. "No!" Barre protested, "Go away!" As Barre's hoof started to leave, the amulet started to lose its glow. "A heart shard? Barre!" While she started to follow on, Barre started to kick the waters from the lake and was crying. "It's not fair!" "I know." A voice agreed. "It is unfair." As Duck started to come near, she recognized a human. "Wait. Senior Mytho?" "It is unfair..." 'But that's impossible? Mytho returned back into his world a long time ago. Why's he here now?' "I need your broken heart, Barre. With you by my side, we'll be fine." 'Could it be that-?' As she stood there shocked, bells started to ring. "Oh goodie, you found a heart shard, but not like anything you've ever seen." Cavalier responded. "Now, show us what you're made of, Princess Tutu." Her amulet started to glow bright as the sun, allowing the mare to change into Princess Tutu. The cape, which hid her tail, started to change into a tutu. Her wings and horn started to appear as well, making herself become an alicorn. When her transformation was completed, Princess Tutu started to walk slowly towards the poor giraffe. "Who are you? Have you come to make fun of me?" "No, but the pony you are speaking with is not the one for you." "Absurd!" "Please dance with me, Barre." "No! I will do no such thing!" At that moment, she started to call out loudly, allowing her form to transform into a ballerina. While she starts dancing, the area changes from a calm state to a dark and cold state. "Leave me alone!" "Is that your way of dancing?" "It is, allowing your audience to surrender the art which is created." "But that's not how you feel." "I believe it with all my heart!" "If that's what you feel, then why is there no joy? Why is there no happiness in your dancing?" While she danced, Barre thought of the day she was disappointed by Ruby Breeze. Though she wanted to dance as well as her, Breeze informed her that she couldn't do such a thing. "Because of her, I want to beat her dancing moves, allowing her to understand how I feel." "Feeling dishonest with your true feelings are not what will make you happy." With one move of her wings, she too transformed into a human Princess Tutu as before. Allowing them to see the beauty of it all, they danced to feel more of themselves. "I want you to be honest with yourself and free in your dancing. Feel the joy within your heart. That way, your way of dancing is beautiful than any pony has ever seen." "Thank you..." Barre replied. As she started to disappear, Senior Mytho's heart shard started to appear in front of Tutu. "Are you...?" "I'm the feeling of honesty: shattered and forgotten. It has been so long, Princess Tutu for you to return once again." "The pony you reside is not where you belong." "Must I wander again?" "You need to go back." "I can go back?" "Yes. To where you truly belong." "I'm honestly happy to hear that again." As Senior Mytho's form transcend to a piece of a heart, Princess Tutu, whom returned back into an alicorn, held on to the shard with her magic. Just then, Angelic Wing was walking nearby. She turned around, smiled, and levitated the shard towards Angelic Wing's heart. As it started to take hold inside his heart, his cutie mark started to glow lightly, allowing a part of his heart shine. "I'm glad to be able to become Princess Tutu." "Wing!" A voice called from a distant. In fear, Princess Tutu ignited her magic and disappeared within the area. Angelic Wing started to fall lightly towards the ground, but was held by Spiraling Night. "What's the matter?" "It's...strange... As if... I can... feel..." "Feel?" Spiraling Night, noticing Angelic Wing's cutie mark partially glowing, knew one thing certain: he's regaining his feelings. The question still remains to him: who is doing such a thing?
Prince and the DuckOnce upon a time, a young wizard had died. What to do now?"
Vow of a Generous AlicornDays have passed, Duck was sitting on her bed, thinking of the heart shard she met before.
