Summer

"I'm tired of Cloudsdale!" I thought. "I need to go somewhere else for the summer and take a break."

If you've been in a town, you know how I'm feeling. The first few days, there seems to be everything going on and then, there seems like there's nothing going on for years. Sometimes, you just need a break from it all. Besides, I just got thoughts of other places to take a vacation at in the summertime.

"Manehattan? No." I kept on thinking. "Canterlot? No way! Ponyville? Hmmm....."

I thought about going to Ponyville years ago, ever since I was a colt.

"Why not," I said to myself.

I went to go get a horse drawn carriage and be on my way to Ponyville.

"This will be the best summer I'll ever imagine!" I thought, excited to go.

This was the best summer, but there was one difference in my summer.

It began horribly wrong.

When the horse drawn carriage was ready, I was ready to go to Ponyville. I was imaging how fun it'll be to be in Ponyville.

"Alright, I'm ready!" I said to the pegasis who's going to get me to Ponyville.

He just nodded. He hasn't said a word ever since he was here. I wonder why.

"To Ponyville!" I say.

After I say that, we're off. I can't wait to see Ponyville! All the pegasi there said that there was an incredible party there. I didn't hear the pony's name, though. I also saw a hurricane there that lifted all the water to Cloudsdale. I didn't think they could do it after they crashed the first time. There was also that---

I heard a loud noise and the pegasis with the horse drawn carriage abandoned me.

"Why did he do that?" I thought as I looked to my left.

I wish I followed him because a huge tree went through the carriage. It smashed all of my stuff. I tried to run, but a HUGE pain went to my wings.

"What in the world is going on?!?" I thought, but I couldn't hear my thoughts while I'm screaming. I shed a tear because of how much pain I'm having. The tree fell down some more and let my wings go.

"Not a good way to start my summer..." I thought to myself. I was getting ready to fly away but my wings hurt insanely bad.

"Oh no!" I thought "What's wrong with my wings?"

I had to walk the rest of the way, just to get to the Ponyville hospital.

"Today is not going well." I thought as I started to walk the rest of the way to the hospital.

"This isn't good," Nurse Redheart said.

"Oh god, what's next?" I thought.

"You broke your wings!" said Nurse Redheart.

"Can anything get worse?!?!?" I thought. "Now I can't get back home!!!"

Nurse Redheart put my wings in slings.

This ruins my summer. I broke both of my wings! I can't go back home, either. My summer is now manure.

"Stay off your wings for about 5 weeks and they'll be good as new!" she said.

"My summer won't..." I thought as I left.

"Goodbye!" Nurse Redheart said.

"Bye!" I say.

The first thing I try to find is a Ponyville inn. The first one I went to was full of ponies. There was also no more room for ponies, pegasi, or unicorns.

"What a bummer!" I thought to myself. "I hope the next inn I find isn't full."

The next inn I went to was full. The next one, full. Fourth? Full. All of them were full.

This isn't my day. Every inn is full and I can't get in any of them. I'm going to have to sleep in the dark.

"I can't find an inn anywhere..." I said to myself. "I might as well be dead..."

I sat down and started to shed more tears. It's over. I'm most likely a goner. It started to rain on me.

"Why?" I said to the sky and back to the ground to shed even more tears.

Suddenly, I heard the door open. I looked up, and saw a unicorn and a pony. Why did they open their door? It's not like they care about me.

"What?" I say, chilled to the bones that are broken.

They noticed my cast and stared for a second at each other.

"Come in." The light green unicorn said.

I was shocked. Two ponies in Ponyville wanted me to live. I'm not going to die. I'm not going to die!

"Really?" I said, but it came out, R-r-eeaa-a-ll-yy-y-y?

"Yes, come on in before you get a cold!" The green unicorn said.

I was happy to be alive and be warm once again. I never want to be in a situation like this ever again!

"Thanks for letting me in!" I said. "What's your names?"

"I'm Lyra." the green unicorn said.

"I'm Bon-Bon." said the purple and pink mane pony. "What's your name?"

"My name's Lightning Dasher." I said.

"That's your name?" Lyra asked.

"That's my name!" I said.

"How did you break your wings?" Bon-Bon asked.

"My carriage got hit by a tree and both my wings and my stuff were wrecked by a tree." I explained.

"That's sad!" Lyra said.

"I know..." I said, remembering what happened.

"It's okay..." Bon-Bon said.

I must have shed another tear because at first, I didn't know know what she was talking about. I felt her hoof under my eye, wiping off my tear.

"Are you tired?" Bon-Bon asked.

"Yeah..." I said, feeling like I was going to drift away at any moment.

"Follow me." Lyra said.

"Ok." I said.

When we got to a bed, she poined her hoof to it.

"Here you go," she said.

"Thanks!" I said as I got into the bed.

"Hope you sleep well."Lyra said.

"I hope so too!" I said.

After I said that, she left, to let me sleep.

These ponies actually care for me. They're not going to let me die. I feel like they're the only ones that care for me. The others don't, while Lyra and Bon-Bon does. I shed one more tear before I go to sleep.

My dreams were filled with nightmares of me dying over and over because of no one letting me in their house. Me seeing a whole bunch of 'No Vacancy' signs over and over again. That these two caring ponies helped me at the day that my summer went upside down. I owe them big time for what they're doing for me.

I woke up to a bright sun full of sunshine.

"If I was still out in the rain....." I started to think.

I sat up and yawned while stretching. I heard the door open. I guess they were awake before I was.

"Good morning!" Bon-Bon said.

"Good morning!" I said back to her.

"Did you sleep well?" Lyra asked when she came at the door.

"Pretty much," I said to them.

"Great," Bon-Bon said.

"At least they had a kind heart to let me in..." I thought.

I think of the 'No Vacancy' signs again.

"Come on down," Bon-Bon said. " I'm making breakfast!" She went out of  the room to continue making breakfast.

I was hungry from that whole incident, and I didn't ever get to eat supper.

"Does it really matter?" I thought to myself. "I don't want to-"

My stomach growled, loud enough to stop my thoughts in their track. I sighed.

"I might as well eat," I thought to myself.

I got out of the bed I slept in and got out of the room. Out of my room, I got smacked with a delicious smell that got my attention. I couldn't wait to see what breakfast was now. I wanted to fly down there, but my wings were still broken. I sighed again.

"You still have two weeks left," I said to myself as I walked down the stairs.

When I got down every stair, I got welcomed with breakfast. It was the tastiest breakfast I ever digested.

"I can't believe how tasty these eggs are!" I thought to myself.

"Do you like the eggs I made?" Lyra asked.

"Yes." I said. "I love them."

"Thanks!" Lyra said. "This is the first time I made this dish before."

"Well, you certainly did a awesome job making eggs," I said to Lyra.

"Yeah," Bon-Bon said. "Thanks for making these eggs!"

"Your welcome," Lyra said.

That was weeks ago. Now, my wings are almost healed and I'm ready to explore Ponyville. I know I would feel green and blue if I told them that my wings were all better. I don't know why, though. I don't love them or anything, I would just feel blue. I wonder if I would WANT to go...

I didn't have enough time to think because of the same breakfast I had the same day.

"Still delicious!" I said to Lyra.

Lyra giggled a little. "Thanks," she said.

"Hey," Bon-Bon.

"What?" I said.

"How about we go to the beach together? All of us." Bon-Bon said.

"The beach?" I thought. "I haven't been there for years!"

"Yeah!" an excited Lyra said.

"I wonder if I should go..." I thought.

"Do you?" Lyra asked.

My thoughts got interrupted. I look into her eyes. It looks like she really wants to go. I don't want to disappoint her.

"Might as well....." I thought to myself.

"Sure," I said.

"Okay!" Bon-Bon said. "Let's go!"

"I wonder how this will go..." I thought to myself as we went out the door.

When we made it to the beach, there was barely anypony out there.

"That's a surprise!" I thought to myself. "It feels like 95 degrees."

"I'll get the chair out!" Lyra said.

"I'll get the blanket to lay down on," Bon-Bon said.

"One more day..." I thought to myself.

I looked up into the sky to see if any pegasi was in the sky, mocking me for the last day, flying.

"Not one pegasis..." I thought to myself.

Just one second later, I saw a pegasis fly straight through the clouds with a rainbow following it. Who was that? Was that a she? Who could fly so fast, like me? No pegasi I met could pass me, ever. Could she, or he do that? I kept on thinking long enough for them to finish. I'm thinking that I should cool myself down in the water. Besides, I only have one more day in this stupid cast.

"While they're distracted..." I thought.

I took off my casts and went in the water. Man, did that feel good! Getting cooled off in the summer heat! I bet nothing could feel better! I didn't even want to get out. That's how good it was. I just want to stay in the water-

"Lightning!" a surprised Bon-Bon said.

I turned around. "What?"

"You're.... all better..." She said, a bit disappointed.

Why was she disappointed? I'll never know.

"Yeah, I am," I said.

"I thought..... you would..." She couldn't finish.

"Yeeaahhh...." I said, feeling blue again. " I'm..... all.. better.."

She started to blush. Why is she blushing? I'll still never know.

"Sooooo." I said.

"Yeeeaaahhhh....." Bon-Bon said.

"What did I miss?" Lyra said, finally back from the small walk.

She notices my cast is off.

"Oh." She has a sad face now.

"I'm sorry, but I have to go," I said.

They were both blushing. Still, WHY ARE THEY BLUSHING?!? I feel yellow and blue inside now.

"Okay," Lyra said.

"Well....." Bon-Bon said. "Yeeeeaaahhhh..... See you later... Someday."

"See you..... later," I said to them as I left.

I felt like a mule for leaving them for now. I actually wanted to be with them for one more day, but I will see them for another day. Right now, I got to explore Ponyville and you know what? I feel like living there, even though I didn't go there yet, just in case. I don't want the rest of my summer to be like that again.

"Okay," I said to myself. "There's only a few days of my summer left! I got to enjoy it!"

I ran the rest of the way to Ponyville. I hope my summer goes better now, because it'll take a lot of good times to make my summer better.
