A Different View 5: A Brand New World.
The Different Six
Dr.Flora Shy was currently working on a special device that would allow her to study the very nature of other universes without causing a collapse,she was so busy with it that she even didn't notice the bright light that had appeared in her lab...
"Oww, my head.... Where am I?" A confused Twilight said.
Twilight then looked around and notices a pony who looked almost like Fluttershy working on something. She wasn't too sure it even was Fluttershy due to how far away the mare was from her.
"Um excuse me miss?" Twilight says in attempt to get her attention.
Dr.Flora had heard Twilight and went over to see her .
"Oh goodness! Shine are you alright?" Dr. Flora says as she adjusts her glasses.
Twilight looks at Dr. Flora Shy for a bit then says,"f-fluttershy?"
"Close,my name is Dr. Flora Shy and this is my laboritory, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance miss...um."Dr. Flora said.
"Twilight...,Twilight Sparkle." Twilight said.
"Oh! My apologies then, I had thought you were my assistant,she looks almost like you." Dr. Flora says in a cheery tone.
"Really?" Twilight said.
"Why of course,do you want to meet her?"Dr. Flora said.
"Sure, I'd love to." Twilight said.
"Alright then,come with me."Dr. Flora said.
As Dr. Flora lead her upstairs,Twilight could only wonder how she is going to get back home...
*meanwhile back in the Mane Six's universe.
"What do ya mean she's gone missin' !" Applejack said.
"That's what I said, I was going upstairs to see Twilight was awake and she was gone!" Spike said.
"Maybe she's in that world with the smart version of me!"Pinkie Pie said.
"Oh dear I hope she's alright...."Fluttershy says with concern.
"Ah hope so too sugercube."Applejack said.
*Back with twilight*
Twilight was really surprised at how everything looked in this world, even though she hadn't yet explored the outside of Dr. Flora's home, the inside alone showed just how advanced this world was compared to her own. Their was a whole lot of this that twilight couldn't dream up of in the within the room she was in.
"Hmm,this is odd..."Dr. Flora said taking twilight out of her thoughts.
"What's wrong?"Twilight asked her.
"My assistant,she isn't here... Normally she'd be here cleaning or sorting out the parts I don't need."Dr. Flora said.
"Parts?" Twilight asked her.
"Aj yes those are spares." Dr. Flora said.
"Oh um okay, that's actually really cool." Twilight said.
"Thank you Twilight, now then anymore questions?"Dr. Flora said.
"So....uh,is your assistant good with magic?"Twilight had felt a little awkward asking this question but she was curious.
"Sadly no, her magic often tends to backfire on the poor dear, however I tend to any wounds that she may receive when that happens."Dr. Flora said.
"Oh sorry, I had to ask..."Twilight said.
"That's alright Twilight,I have no quarrels with you asking anything about a world that you do not know."Dr. Flora says before winking at Twilight.
"Wait, how did you know that I wasn't from this world?!"Twilight said.
"Just by looking at you, these glasses I wear are actually an invention of mine that allows me to identify anypony, even if they're not from my world,it's a rather simple device and it also allows eyesight beyond the usual spectrum." Dr. Flora explained.
Twilight's jaw dropped upon hearing this, she calms herself down then eventually asks her, "So,what do you do?"
"Me? Well, I'm an inventor of sorts, I've made all sorts of gadgets and gizmos that could help with everyday life. It's why I have all those spare parts I showed you." Dr. Flora said.
"Wow...,so how did you become a doctor?" Twilight asked.
"Oh that? I have degree in engineering and technology and I also have a medical licence,which explains why I have the doctor title." Dr. Flora said.
"Wow, that's impressive!" Twilight said.
"Why thank you Twilight. Now then, would you like a tour of the town?" Dr. Flora said.
"Sure I'd love to see what this world has in store." Twilight said.
"Come then, let us be off." Dr. Flora said.
Dr. Flora leads Twilight outside of her lab and shows her around Ponyville, as soon as they left a purple unicorn had suddenly appeared in the shadows of Dr. Flora's lab.
"It...It worked....,they...didn't see me, i hope Dr. Flora will forgive me for spying on her but...i...i don't trust that mare...that other me..." the unicorn whispered to herself.
She then attempts to teleport away but the spell fails and gives away her position by letting off a small blast in front of her which resulted in her saying a rather quiet "ow...." Which surprisingly Dr. Flora had somehow heard.
"It seems we're being followed, come out from there "Sparks" and say hello." Dr. Flora said as Twilight looked around for whomever the Doctor was just talking to.
Shine Spark eventually leaves her hiding spot and comes out in the open, her appearance shocked Twilight as she looked exactly like herself minus the wings, her mane seemed slightly longer than Twilight's own and she had a butterfly next to a small star for a cutie mark, she had a sorrowful look and had went up to Dr. Flora.
"o-oh....dear i-i'm sorry Dr. Flora i didn't mean to spy on you but this other me....i um...i don't trust her..."she says in an apologetic tone.
"Why not?" Dr.Flora said.
"She...erm,she scares me..."Shine Spark said.
"Don't be afraid of me,I'm not going to hurt you."Twilight said.
"R-really?....you..., you mean it?" Shine Spark said.
"Of course! I mean we are kind of the same pony if you think about it."Twilight said.
"She's right you know, you do not have to fear the things that you do not understand as sometimes those things may have something in common with you."Dr. Flora said.
"T-thank you Doctor and other me,i feel....,I feel better now" Shine said.
"It's Twilight." Twilight said.
"Pardon?" Shine said.
"My name...,it's Twilight." Twilight said.
"Oh...,Thank you Twilight."Shine said.
"Your welcome err, "Sparks" was it?"Twilight said
"Um actually it's-"Shine was immediately cut of by a loud voice that had came out of nowhere.
"HELLO EVERYPONY!" a hyperactive looking orange earth pony said as she bounced in between Dr. Flora and Twilight scaring off poor Shine into hiding.
"Jackie Apple what is the meaning of this!? You nearly gave me a heart attack!"Dr. Flora said.
"Sorry Dr. Flora..."Jackie said.
"It's alright my friend, just don't do it again." Dr. Flora says kindly.
"Ok..."Jackie says before suddenly spotting Twilight.
"Hi Shine Spark!" she says to the confused Alicorn.
"Um...,my name is Twilight." Twilight says to correct her.
"Oh okay! Hi Twilight!" Jackie said.
"Jackie Apple please leave, your bothering her." Dr. Flora said.
"K, bye!" Jackie says before hopping away.
"Well that was...."Twilight said.
"Odd? Yes she's a rather strange one but we all try to ignore her usual antics and get on with our lives,however she's helped with the more troublesome enemies that we've faced, so in a way she has her own uses." Dr. Flora said.
"So what about the others? What are they like?" Twilight asked her.
"Other than myself ,Jackie Apple and Shine Spark...,hmm I believe there is a pony who works at the Apple farm nearby who's name is Peaches Pie, another who goes by Stormy Diamond and one more who's named Joyous Rainbow, now "Joy" I know personally as she was the first pony I met. She could be found at the art gallery,come follow me." Dr. Flora says while walking towards the art gallery,Twilight eventually following behind.
They eventually made it to the gallery and find Joyous outside looking at the sky.
"Ah hello "Joy",How are you?" Dr. Flora said.
"Wonderful darling,just wonderful,I am staring at the sky for inspiration for my beautiful paintings,but alas I have not yet found it."Joyous Rainbow said.
"Oh that's good to hear, I have a friend here who wishes to see you..."Dr. Flora says but cuts herself off when she sees that Twilight was gone.
"Hmm, that's odd. Where did she go?"Dr. Flora said to herself.
"Where did who go darling?"Joy asked.
"Hmm my friend must have returned home..." Dr. Flora says to herself before returning home and leaving a confused Joyous Rainbow behind.
*Back to the canon verse*
Applejack,Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy as well as Spike were all still looking for Twilight when said pony suddenly appeared in front of them.
"Twi? Is that you sugercube?" Applejack said.
"Applejack? Oh thank goodness, how long was I gone?" Twilight said.
"I dunno sugercube, but ah'm glad your back." Applejack said.
"Yeah me too, you were gone for almost the entire day!" Pinkie said.
"We were worried..." Fluttershy says quietly.
"Hey it's okay as long as I'm back home right?" Twilight says cheerfully.
"Ah, so there you are." a familiar sounding voice says from out of nowhere.
"Fluttershy?" Applejack says in confusion.
"Wowie Fluttershy you look super smart!" Pinkie said.
"Um but I'm right next to you pinkie..." Fluttershy says quietly in an attempt to correct Pinkie.
Dr. Flora simply chucked then told them who she was and why she was there.
"Oooo! So your from another world too!? That's so cool!" Pinkie said.
"Yep I'd say so." Applejack said.
Fluttershy would nod in understanding.
"Yes,yes but alas it is time I say farewell to you all. I wish I could stay but my friends need me, till next time." And with that said, Dr. Flora was gone.
Twilight could only mutter one thing before fainting...."W-what...j-just...h-happened?"
