//-------------------------------------------------------// Lost One's Weeping -by Queen Endfire Lulamoon- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter One //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter One "But siste-" "No, Luna! The answer is no!" Luna sighed, brushing her mane out of her face. "But why, Tia? I want to go out and DO something for a change! All we do on our off days is sit around and talk!" "Well, I rather enjoy doing that." "But I don't!" Luna said, her anger quickly boiling over. She and her sister had been arguing for a good twenty minutes now, and Celestia was starting to cross the line of 'normal fighting' and 'Luna is going to explode soon' fighting. "Well, I'm going out, whether you like it or not!" shouted Luna angrily. "I just want a bit of air." She began stomping off, but her sister stopped her. Celestia sighed. "I'm sorry, sister." Luna looked up at her beloved sister. "I am too. I've just been... stressed lately. So have you." "Indeed." They sat in silence for a few moments more. "Tia?" "Yes, sister?" Celestia replied, setting down her cup of tea. "I'm... going to my room to cool off." "I might do that as well." "Shall we meet again in... say, an hour or so?" Luna said, getting up from the worn red velvet love seat she had been sitting in. "Yes, that should be good. See you then, I suppose. Good day, sister." Knock, knock. "Come in," Luna called from her comfy pillow fort she had made. The doorknob turned and in came her sister, carrying a... picnic basket? "How about we go and have a picnic dinner tonight?" "Yes!" Luna yelped enthusiastically. "We haven't had one in... how many years now?" "Including or not including the time you were floating around in space?" If looks could kill, Celestia would have died about seventeen times by now with the look she was giving. "Tiaaaaa......" Luna moaned, flopping back down on her bed, surrounded by her fort of pillows. "C'mon, Lulu. You know I can't resist a good joke!" "Oh, really? I never noticed!" Luna said sarcastically. "Well, we should put food in the basket, right? There's no point in having a picnic with no food!" "Oh. right," Celestia said, facehoofing. "We should start packing!" she exclaimed, prancing off to the kitchen with Luna in tow. "Very well, then." ***** After Celestia had dismissed the kitchen staff (with a bit of kerfuffle) for the rest of the day, the two siblings began to prepare their picnic. Celestia handling the meal, Luna some snacks and the dessert (for lack of trust in her sister). They both knew what the other did and didn't like, so little speech was exchanged as both wanted their part to be a surprise. There, of course, was the occasional "Can you pass me the cheese grater," or something along those lines, but both were very focused on making it perfect. "I've finished!" they both declared at the same time. They both then promptly looked at each other and burst out laughing. "Well, sister, I think we are ready. It isn't tea time for another few hours, though, so I suppose we shall go our separate ways. Again," Luna declared. Celestia nodded in agreement. "That would be best." "Shall I meet you here in... say... two hours?" "That sounds good." "Goodbye, Tia!" "So long, Lulu!" And with that, they both set off to their rooms- Luna to play video games (of course) and Celestia to read. _-+=+-_ Luna raced down the stairs, fast as a cheetah, as fast as her hooves could carry her. "Luna! Slow down!" cried Celestia, trying to keep up (and miserably failing). Luna grabbed the picnic basket with her magic and burst out the palace gates, running down the path like an airplane about to take off. "Luna to Celestia - we have liftoff!" she said cheekily, flying up into the air and turning around to wait for her snail of a sister. "Luna-" *huff* "Next time-" *puff* "Will you-" *huff* "Wait for me?" *puff* "Jeez, Tia, get into shape!" Luna said, a determined look suddenly in her eyes. "Hey, Tia!" "Yes, sister?" *huff* "Race ya!" And with that, Luna flew off at light speed, zooming through the air like a- well, there's nothing fast enough to compare her to. Celestia flew with agile beauty and grace, almost leaping through the air, while her sister charged forth like a bullet. "LUNA, LOOK OUT!" Luna collided with a unicorn on the ground, as she was swooping so low she could feel the grass tickling her stomach, not really thinking she'd run into anypony in the barren hills of the countryside. "Oh my goodness, I am so sorry! I didn't mean to bump into you, it's just I was flying so low because I thought nopony was out here because it's in the middle of nowhere and I guess I just assumed that it was just me and my sister out here! I really am so sorry, I should have just stayed higher in the sky because then I won't-" the unicorn's hoof pressed against Luna's lips, silencing her. She finally looked up at the stranger, brushing her mane out of her face. The unicorn stallion had a coat of dark gray, like the color of the clouds before a thunderstorm. His mane was jet black, and he wore a plain red scarf around his neck. His eyes... His eyes were a stunning shade of purple... Luna knew those eyes, but they were the eyes of a dead stallion. A former lover. But... he looked just like him! His mane was ruffled in the same way his had been, and his smile... It was the same warm, loving smile she remembered. But what really drove the point home was his cutie mark- it wasn't there! He didn't have one! Just like him... Could it really be...? "..S...Sombra?" The stallion's heartwarming smile grew even wider as looked into her eyes. "I.. I thought I'd never see you again after... After the war... Where have you been, Sombra? Where have you been?!" she said, wrapping her hooves around him in a tight embrace. Sombra returned the hug, neither of them ever wanting to let go. After all this time... "Sombra, we all thought you were dead." Author's Note Hey, to anyone who doesn't like this story- could ya leave a comment saying why?
