In response to concern about the inadequacy of the Royal Guard, Princess Luna established the Lunar Academy, training ponies to actually be able to defend Equestria in the case of any and all attacks, alongside perform other Mercenary tasks as assigned by the Headmaster and/or the Crown. The Academy is full of ponies who were volunteered from birth by their parents, or "encouraged," to be given to the Academy to serve Equestria soon thereafter, any and all outsiders being forbidden from entering its walls.

At least, such was the case, until one night, when a particular special tutor by the name of Raven is informed of an outsider that shall be under his tutelage, due to a situation he is not allowed to be informed of. What lies ahead for the duo from two separate worlds? Only time shall tell, but one thing is for certain: No matter what, the mare must be trained and prepared, for whatever lies ahead.
