While out enjoying an evening flight, Rainbow Dash encounters an unnatural storm heading toward Ponyville; determined to put a stop to it before it causes anypony harm, she is seemingly struck by lightning and killed in the process of saving Applejack at Sweet Apple Acres. Later, at the Castle of Friendship, a middle-aged pegasus appears to Applejack and Twilight Sparkle claiming to be Rainbow Dash … and she has quite the tale to tell them.
