Author's Note

Just a bit of expansion on one particular ship in the previous chapter... lead into the next chapter, and of course things to think about for later chapters :P

After the next upcoming chapter I will be putting a bit of focus on Rarity and Sweetie (Separately). So, if you don't like either of them for any reason... well, just stick with me. There will be more coming up with different characters.

Chapter 6: What If?

The following morning:

Rarity woke up still nuzzled into Bard’s neck, his face buried in her mane. She couldn’t have been happier, not only did she get a warm pony to cuddled against, but for once she felt satisfied. She played with the thought, judging by how stained the bed was, and how big her stomach was that he hadn’t stopped when she passed out. She made a note to ask him about it, though, she wasn’t going to complain… if he kept going, that meant that when she was better prepared they’d both have an amazing night.

She reluctantly left his warmth to get up and go clean herself off. “A stud is an understatement for you…” She giggled quietly, walking to her bathroom, humming softly as she began to wash and drain herself out. She had several things to do to prepare for her new guest.

Twenty minute later:

Rarity had just finished making breakfast for her, Sweetie, and Bard but she was interrupted when Rainbow Dash came crashing in.

“Hey, is Bard here?” The prismatic mare questioned quickly.

“He’s currently asleep, but yes he is. Might I ask, why?” Rarity asked, crossing her arms.

“Just… when he wakes up, send him to me, will you? There’s some ponies I want him to meet, and yah know, he’s musically talented…”

“You want to show him off to the rest of the Wonderbolts, don’t you?” Rarity mused, shaking her head.

“What’s it to yah? I want to spend time with him too, not like you or Applejack had much trouble spending some alone time with him.” Dash crossed her arms. “I think it’d be cool if he got to show that off, and I do want to get to know him.”

“What are you insinuating?”

“Please Rarity. I was there when you were shooting questions to Applejack about her experience. The only ponies that weren’t were Pinkie and Flutters. If you didn’t sleep with him, I’d assume he’s trying to mind control you, but failing miserably.” Dash retorted. “And we aaaaalllll know how you get around cute and talented stallions. Psh, I’m honestly sure…”

“Don’t continue.” Rarity began, blushing slightly. “If you keep…”

“I’m not going to call you, or insuate that you’re a whorse, Rares.” Dash assured, putting her hands up defensively. “Look, I trust Fluttershy and Applejack to judge ponies characters. If Bard passed Applejack’s test, then I doubt he’d ever actively lie to you or anypony else.”

Rarity sighed. “Sorry. I just…”

“Stressed?”

“Yeah. Even after Bard and I did make love. Unlike with Applejack, we were in a bed, and I woke up still snuggled against him.” Rarity gushed quietly, looking away.

Rainbow Dash gagged jokingly. “Blech… Cuddling. What is it with everypony and cuddling?”

“When you fall in love, any touch feels amazing.” Rarity stated. “You’ll see eventually.”

“Mmm. Whatever you say.” Dash waved her off.

“I’ll have Sweetie bring him to you… I have a lot of things that I need to do now.” Rarity sighed.

“Whatcha mean?” Dash’s mood swung around as she immediately realized something was wrong.

“Ugh, Filthy Rich came by yesterday… his wife wanted to change her entire order up… and now I’d be set behind having to scrap it all… and they didn’t change the deadline.” Rarity grumbled quietly sitting down for a few moments.

“That’s cruel! He can’t do that, tell him you wo-”

“Dash. I run a buisness… I can’t just abandon a project like this…” Rarity began.

“Rarity. He can’t jus-”

“He can. And now, if I don’t get it done to their liking, he’ll make sure to ruin my career…” Rarity sighed.

“That’s bullshit! Go tell Twi-” Dash was cut off by a knocking on the door.

Dash walked over to the door and threw it open. “Yes? The store’s cl-”

“I fully understand that, Miss… Rainbow Dash is it?” A mare mused quietly.

“Ho… Right… heroes and I’m a Wonderbolt…” Dash laughed quietly.

Rarity shot up. “Mrs. Cloth?” She said quickly.

“Right you are.” The mare teleported past Rainbow Dash. “You must be Rarity then. It’s quite nice to meet you! I set off the moment the letter reached me.” The much, much older fashion queen smiled warmly. “Now, I hope you don’t mind but I did bring some of my own things. I didn’t know what type of probl-”

Rarity handed Silken Cloth the folder of things Filthy Rich gave her yesterday.

Silken opened it for a moment. “Ah. The Rich’s. Yes, my favorite family.” She grumbled. “As per usual, changing it last moment to trip you up.” She shook her head, she looked up at Rarity.

“This is the first time they’ve done it… they started out with small nice orders, paid well…”

“And then hit you hard. I know. Well, once I see my son again we can begin.” Silken smiled. “I’m here for as long as you need me to be.”

“I’ll go get both him and my sister up right now!” Rarity grinned, leaving the room to go wake up the two still sleeping ponies.

“Um, I hope you don’t mind me intruding…”

“No, I haven’t lived with my son for nearly four years. He was… pulled out of my life and nearly cut from it by a mare whom he was dating.” The glamorous unicorn turned to Dash, it was scary for the pegasus. Something deep down told her that Rarity was striving to be like this mare.

Rainbow Dash was pulled away from the door by Silken’s magic and her two assistants rushed in carrying supplies.

“Now, thankfully I knew of Rarity, and what she’s done… otherwise I wouldn’t have come here… It’s not that I don’t like him getting out there and dating ponies… It’s just, after his last marefriend… the way she treated him. It’s hard to let him go through hell again…” Silken shook her head. “And in a town so far away… it makes me wonder how he ended up here.”

“He got invited here by somepony he thought was his friend…” Dash began. “Before you say anything, I offered to beat the shit out of the stallion for it.”

“My, I was about to contact his father and have him come ruin whomever it was if they treated him poorly.” Silken laughed. “But, seeing that he’s ended up in the hands of none other than one of the saviours of Equestria…”

“More than one… Um…” Rainbow Dash began. “I was looking to take him out too, I guess?”

“My, my… I can’t say no to that.” Silken smiled. “Just take care of him, will you?”

“Please, if anypony tries to start anything with him, I’ll end it.” Dash crossed her arms.

“Thank you.” Silken smiled. “Oh, and sweetie, if you need anything from me while I’m here, do just ask.”

“I’ll… make a note of it. I’ve… gotta go get prepared for training… and to take Bard with me.” Dash said, leaving Rarity’s.

Silken took the time to explore a little as she waited for Rarity and her son to come downstairs.

It wasn’t that long of a wait for Rarity to come back downstairs. “He had to shower… my little sister’s going to be down shortly though. I’m sure she’ll be able to keep you company. I want to make sure nothing happens to Bard.” Rarity quickly explained.

“I can wait.” Silken assured. “Just tell him to take his time, I’m not going anywhere.”

“T-thank you.” Rarity smiled, “Did… you want to join us for breakfast?”

“I’d love to.”

Ten minutes later:

Bard had come downstairs, only to be greeted by his emotional mom. She hugged her son tightly, Bard returning the hug immediately.

“It’s been a long time… I’ve missed you so much.” Silken said, smiling happily.

“I’m so sorry…” Bard sighed quietly.

“Don’t be… it truly wasn’t your fault. And now, so long as I’m not barred from seeing you… I’ll make sure to come visit whenever I get the chance.” Silken pulled back from him.

“Of course!” Bard nodded quickly.

“You’re always welcome here.” Rarity smiled.

“Thank you, Rarity.” Silken smiled back. She guided Bard to sit and he was quick to start eating. “Since Bard will be busy, why don’t you tell me… how long has he been in town?”

“As of today… a total of three days.” Rarity explained.

“Already getting so far.” Silken chuckled.

Sweetie slowly came downstairs, trying to avoid being seen.

“Sweetie! Come in here, I want you to meet Bard’s mom.” Rarity said.

Sweetie walked into the room, glancing nervously at Bard for a moment before looking to Rarity and Silken.

“H-Hi.” Sweetie greeted.

“It’s nice to meet you.” Silken smiled.

Bard looked up for a moment and smiled over at Sweetie. She returned the smile and sat down beside him.

Rarity was busy getting herself some food, so she didn’t notice them sharing that smile and lightly nuzzling each other.

Silken’s smile grew wider, though she remained quiet.

Rarity turned back around and sat down on Bard’s other side.

“Ah! While Bard’s out with Rainbow Dash today, I could take you to meet the rest of his new friends.” Rarity looked over at Silken.

“I’d love that!” Silken smiled.

“He’s going with Rainbow Dash today?” Sweetie said quickly, sounding a bit annoyed.

“Well, that’s up to him…”

“I am staying here for another couple of days… and well, it’s not like I’m crazy enough to go stay with her… so, sure. It’d be fun.” Bard shrugged.

Sweetie seemed hurt for a moment.

“Now… We can’t let you go out alone. And in all likelihood, if Twilight catches wind of her wanting to take you somewhere, she’ll tag along too. I have a lot of work to do…” Rarity sighed.

“And I don’t know much about Ponyville.” Silken mused.

“So, Sweetie, would you mind taking him to see Dash?” Rarity asked.

“I’d love to!” Sweetie said quickly, hopping up. By now, Bard had thankfully finished breakfast. “C’mon!” She grabbed Bard’s hand and quickly yanked him to his feet, pulling him rapidly out the door.

“Sweetie wait!” Rarity was too late.

“Let them be.” Silken laughed.

“Bu… Ah… Alright.” Rarity groaned.

Sweetie was (purposefully) tugging Bard off to a more secluded and private spot. Though, since he had decided he’d like to go spend time with Rainbow Dash, she had no intention of holding him against his will.

“Sweetie…” Bard began.

“Yeah?” She asked quickly.

“I want to talk to you about last night.” Bard stated, his words causing her to stop dead in her tracks.

Sweetie gulped but remained silent, he let go of her hand and turned her around to face him. She was thankful he was blind, that way she wouldn’t have to look him in the eyes. He took her completely off guard as he leaned in closer and kissed her. His arms wrapped tightly around her, and she returned the action, eagerly accepting the kiss and hugging him back. She moaned happily into his mouth, rubbing unabashedly against him.

Bard pulled back, “There…” He breathed.

“C-could you repeat that?” She panted softly.

“Gladly.” Bard kissed her again. She shivered, closing her eyes tightly as she basked in the feeling of the second kiss. The kiss lasted for several seconds before he pulled back once again, this time nuzzling her warmly.

“I knew you were perfect.” She said quietly, returning the nuzzle.

“Um… is there anywhere we could sit down for a few minutes?” He asked.

Sweetie looked around for a moment, she was taking him the long way to Dash’s house… through the town park, as she did live just a bit outside the town. Though, it wasn’t out as far as Fluttershy’s cottage.

She pulled him to a secluded little bench, sitting him down before nuzzling up under his arm.

Bard smiled at her, squeezing her close. “That’s better.”

“Yes it is~” She purred closing her eyes. “Is there anything else you wanted to talk about?”

“Just you.” He slid her hand down her arm, grabbing her hand. “I mean… how much time do you think we have before Rainbow Dash comes to look for me?”

“Mmm… An hour maybe. Why?” Sweetie asked curiously.

“Just wondering. I’m sure I’ll be gone all day… so…” Bard began. Her smile lit up and she giggled quietly.

“I’m happy to do anything you want.” She blushed, sliding a hand over his chest.

“Mmm, first…” He slid his hand onto her lap. “What made you call me Master last night?”

Sweetie bit her lip. “I dunno… J-just with my heat… how you tasted… felt in me… tasted…”

He got stuck on her first reason, his body stiffening up. “Um…”

“Gods… I hope the anti-pregnancy spell worked…” She sighed. “I... I mean… I-if it didn’t…” She grew quiet.

“I… I don’t believe I’m fully capable to help raise a foal…” He began slowly. “But… if you do end up pregnant…” He paused. “I’d stay with you. I’d do whatever I was capable of to make it easier for you.”

Sweetie nuzzled up against him.

“Sweetie…”

“I love you, Bard.” She whispered, nuzzling his cheek.

“I love you too, Sweetie.” Bard returned the nuzzle.

“I… should tell Rarity about what I did.” Sweetie said quietly.

“How about we tell her what happened together? I think it’d go a bit better that way. And, maybe… by that time it wouldn’t have been our only time making love… and I can put a lot more focus into making you happy.” He kissed her.

“You made me incredibly happy…” She returned the kiss, nuzzling his neck.

“Sweetie… can, I hold you for a bit?” He asked. Her smile doubled and she climbed into his lap, hugging him tightly.

He wrapped his arms around her, smiling widely as he nuzzled into her mane. The two just sat on the bench for nearly twenty minutes, before Sweetie sighed.

“When I get back… there’s… something I want to do before we spend time together.” Bard began.

“What’s that?” Sweetie asked.

“I’m… not going to neglect Rarity…”

“I wouldn’t want you to.” She nuzzled him. “Don’t worry, if you want to spend time with her, Applejack… Pinkie… or anypony else. I won’t stop you… just don’t forget about me, alright?”

“I can’t stomach the thought of forgetting about you or anypony else I’ve met here…” He kissed her one more time.

“Gods… I’m so lucky I found you…”

“I’m lucky you found me… I don’t want to think about what could’ve happened had you not…” Bard sighed, squeezing her. “You’ve been one of the greatest ponies to ever enter my life…”

Sweetie just smiled, nuzzling further into his warmth. He noticed her nuzzling and just fell silent, happily cuddling with her, the two spending the rest of their time together like that.

Meanwhile:

Rainbow Dash was just sitting in a low batch of clouds near her home, waiting for Bard to show up. Twilight was nearby, already prepared to take the three of them right to the Wonderbolt training facility. Dash had already thought about how… cruel it might be perceived to fly him there. He’d probably be scared out of his mind from the flight.

“So, what do you honestly expect to accomplish? He can’t watch you perform anything…” Twilight began.

“I have to practice today… after that I wanted to take him out. Get to know him, let him get to know me. Then bring him back here so he and Rarity can keep doing what we all know they’re doing.” Dash waved her off.

“Right. And now that I’m coming along?” Twilight chuckled.

“Take you out with us. With how you reacted to Flash’s date I can pretty much figure… well, just remember it’s platonic between us.” Dash teased.

Twilight’s eyes narrowed, she just remained silent.

“It’s a joke!” Dash groaned.

“Mmhm. You know, before AJ slept with Bard… well, I was damn sure you and her were fighting for more than just dominance in sports…” Twilight grinned.

“E-eWha?” Dash choked.

“An Apple a day…”

“JUST STOP!” Dash stated firmly. “You know what, I’m not a lesbian.”

“Dash I kno-”

“And I WILL prove that to you.” Dash crossed her arms.

“I wasn’t challenging you to anything.” Twilight said blandly. “Dash.”

“If Applejack, Pinkie, and Rarity have done it with him, I will beat your nerdy ass to getting laid.” Dash challenged.

“Wh… Am…”

“Oh? Scared? What, think he’s going to be turned off by your ‘know-it-all’ personality? I’m sure you decided not to go out with Flash…”

“Dash…” Twilight slowly said, standing up and facing the pegasus.

“I know I can get him groveling to sleep with me… I mean, who the hell wouldn’t?” The cocky mare grinned, sweeping her hands down her body.

Twilight usually wouldn’t fall into a trap like this. Usually, and now wasn’t an-

“Lil Miss Nerd, whatcha got to say? Have you ever even seen a dick that wasn’t in a book, or some plastic toy? We all know it. You’re a virgin… and I’m sure it’s because you can’t find your ‘prince’... and not because they all get turned away by your lectures and your need to be right…” Dash continued.

Twilight’s eyes narrowed and she clenched her fists.

“It’s gonna be made even worse with Bard… he can’t even see you to get a physical attraction…” Dash continued to push, and now Twilight was beginning to budge.

“Rainbow Dash.” Twilight spoke calmly, despite her red face and clenched fists.

Dash took that as her cue to stop.

“No. I’m not going to treat somepony as a goal. If… IF. We do end up together. It won’t be because you’ve tried to bait me into making a game out of somepony.” Twilight growled, trying to calm herself down.

Rainbow Dash bit her lip and glanced away.

“Look. At. Me.”

Dash’s eyes shot right back to Twilight.

“I’m not going to agree to your game. Not now, not ever. And don’t try that shit again.” Twilight stated.

“You’re right…” Dash sighed.

“You’re damn right, that I’m right.” Twilight huffed. “Now. I HOPE that was a one off.”

“It… got a bit out of hand. I’m sorry, Twi. I honestly… honestly didn’t mean to off-”

“You didn’t.” Twilight assured. “I know you don’t see him, or anypony else like an object. It’s far, far beneath you…”

“Heh… He is right now…” Dash giggled.

“Shut it. Or you’re going to training alone.” Twilight stated.

“Nn- Fine.” Dash groaned.

“Now, I’ll stay with you two during your training… that way he won’t feel alone while he waits for you. I’m not going to get in the middle of your ‘date’ with him.” Twilight said, her magic quickly summoning something from her castle. It was just a tiny little clicker. “Here.” She handed it to Dash. “This will give me the signal that you’re ready to come back with him, and when you’re ready to leave… I have a few things I need to do. It’s nigh-indestructible. And when I come to get you two, I will be taking it back. I don’t want you and Pinkie using it to annoy me.”

“Thanks, Twi.” Dash smiled slightly.

“Oh, and Dash.” Twilight began, her horn lighting up.

“Yeah?”

Twilight leaned in close and whispered something to Dash.

“Fucking really? You and him? And you’re NOT with him? And here I thought Rarity was using stallions for pleasure!” Rainbow Dash scoffed, her face turning a bright red.

“It was a one-night stand… and I did take it in the ass too. So, before you call me a virgin… you’d best check your facts.” Twilight stuck her tongue out before she teleported back to her castle.

“Gods…” Dash mumbled quietly, plopping back down on her ass. “You really do always have to be right…”
