Staring into the nothingness, their one eye glared as mini cubes appeared off of them, showing small images. If they had a mouth they would be frowning at what they saw. In one image, they spotted a girl fighting a small piece of their power possing another young woman. Spinning the cube, the image turned to a young warrior fighting side by side with equines against another fragment controlling The ruler of the land.
"These fools really think they can stand against my power?"
They turned to another cube as an image of a team of mighty warriors stood against a massive shadow warrior, wearing a mask from their power. They chuckled as they blinked and the image shifted to giant metal men battling, one of them wielding their power trapped in a container in its chest. They snapped their fingers as a collection of the cubes formed a chair and they sat in it.
"Nothing can stand against my power. In the end... All things fall to me."
Another cube floated over to them and they let it hover in their hand as an image of a hedgehog and a pegasus were battling a Snake using their power to stay alive. They chuckled as the image shifted abit, the hedgehog's appearance changed, while the pegasus changed to a unicorn battling a scientist wielding a strange emerald, which they could sense their power in as well.
"Soon... I shall shatter them all. I shall break their spirits..."
Another cube showed a dragon girl and the pegasus from before but slightly changed battling a dragon warlord, their power radiating from them.
"Their souls will be crushed..."
Another showed an old man with a girl standing in front of a blue box staring down an alien race fueled by their hatred.
"And in the end..."
The same girl in another image slammed a watch on her wrist down as an alien warlord fired their energy at her.
"Their friendship..."
Five teenagers fought off an army of monsters as a creature formed around their power in the back.
"Will be destroyed..."
They then clenched their fist and blasted the cubes away.
"After all... in the Infinite realities... I shall always conquer you... In the infinite realms, nothing stands a chance. I shall consume you all, and soon, all that will be left..."
They glared at the realms they conquered, leaving them all a doomed reality.
"Will be the Infinite..."
They laughed as they turned to another world, one of virtual reality where a virus threatened to reach out into the real world, corrupted by their power.
"Even if these avatars of my power fail, how will they be able to stand before me?"
They then floated to a dead world, and chuckled at the image of a giant mech with a car for a head, destroyed with a fat man attempting to repair it but with no results. Their power had blown a massive hole in its chest.
"They soon must come to the answer..."
They turned to see a reality where a girl blasting pure energy from the suit she was wearing against an army fueled by their power.
"There is no victory..."
They turned to a boy wielding a sword against their power, but being defeated.
"Only their destruction..."
They then clapped their hands together returning everything back into nothingness.
"I am a GOD! I AM THE ALPHA AND THE OMEGA! I... am corruption. I am the Calamity, the strongest being of all dimensions. And NOTHING... Shall stand in my way... Nothing..."
They snapped their fingers and a mask appeared in their hand, pale and almost bone like.
"Not even Death could stop me."
They turned to a small cube as it replayed them destroying Death's scythes before stabbing him in his wound on his shoulder and jabbing him in the stomach throwing him into a wall. Death fell to the ground coughing as his foe kicked him onto his back and grabbed his mask.
"In the end... it shall be me... It MUST be me... Nothing shall exist but me..."
They turned back as more images appeared, one where a Heroic leader attacked his own allies, now corrupted by their power.
"Those who dont fall to me... Shall simply serve me..."
A young girl screamed a ghostly wail at a town she defended for so long, her skin pale and hair different streaks of white as their power fueled her.
"It does my heart good to see these puppets obey me... Even when they outlive their usefulness."
They turned see a warrior stand over the bodies of their friends, slayed by their own hands through the darkness controlling them. Their eye glowed at them and suddenly their neck snapped and they fell to the ground dead. They chuckled and turned to yet another world. A young woman sitting on a throne, possessed by their power, ruling over her world with an iron fist, killing for fun, while she has her friends hanging on the wall's chained there being forced to stay alive against their will.
"I always enjoy seeing my puppets do my work for me... Even though Id rather destroy their worlds myself, sometimes its best to have someone of that world do my will for me." They turned away as the cubes faded out. "Now then..." they waved their hands as spirits of their victims appeared. "Lets see who of you would be perfect for preparing these worlds in my image..." they turned to a creature of purple oz and grabbed it. "You will go to this world, and make sure these advents happen to Sunset Shimmer. Do you understand?" the creature nodded before its master opened a portal and threw it into the past, however making sure to keep some of its oz with them. They then waved their hand over it as it mutated into a man with red hair.
"Now then... You shall travel to this reality" They pointed at the cube where the young man was fighting beside the equines and growled "You will destroy his spirit, and destroy him from the inside out, do you understand?" The man nodded before fading out. They turned and slowly began to chuckle before bursting into a tyrant laugh. "Now then, LET THE INFINITE FUN BEGIN!!!"

Sunset ran. She didn't know where she was running to, but wherever it was would be better than to who was chasing her. She looked back to see Celestia chasing her, calling out her name. She clenched her fists and threw a fireball at Celestia, stopping her in her tracks. "LEAVE ME ALONE!" She shouted at her adopted mother both her hands bursting into flames.
"Sunset, please... Just come back and we can talk this through!" Celestia pleaded reaching out to her daughter.
Sunset took a step away and replied, "Why? So you can tell me how much Twilight is much better than me?" Celestia frowned and stepped forward.
"You leave her out of this!" She replied to which Sunset laughed.
"Why? You'll just bring her up yourself. Oh Twilight this, Twilight that! If Twilight is so perfect, why don't you just make HER a Princess?" She snapped.
Celestia without thinking snapped back, saying "Don't think I haven't thought about it!" Celestia watched as Sunset's face went from rage to destroyed, almost swearing she heard her daughters heart shatter. She instantly regretted her actions and tried to reach out to her only for Sunset to run away crying. She dropped her head her in regret and began to cry.
Sunset ran. She ran far and hard. However, this time she had a destination. She pushed open the door to the mirror room and looked upon it. It was here that it all started. The moment she saw her reflection in the mirror as an alicorn was when Celestia begun to hate her. Sunset knew it was proof she was meant to rule, but Celestia refused to accept the truth. She would reject to help Sunset become the Princess she told her shed be, pulling away anything that could help her.
"She knows what I'm capable of and refuses to give me what she promised me." She growled looking at the mirror seeing her reflection as an alicorn again only for her reflection to fade as the mirror changed into a portal. "Huh?" she said as she looked up to notice a gem at the top of the mirror glowing now. She placed her hand against the mirror only for it to go through it. "Interesting..." She said only to hear ponies were running to the chamber. "Looks like I have no options." She said setting foot through the mirror before reaching up and grabbing the gem. "Just to make sure they cant follow me." She said pulling the gem free. She finally stepped through as the guards and Celestia burst into the room. However their eyes showed fear as they saw the mirror pulse a dark glow before the portal closed.
TWO AND A HALF YEARS LATER
Celestia, Luna, and Cadence watched as the guards placed the mirror into the new mirror chamber in the Crystal Empire and frowned. Celestia sighed looking at the reminder of what she lost all those years ago and turned away. Luna placed her hand on her sister's shoulder to comfort her.
"Its alright sister. You did the best you could with her." She said as Celestia looked at her sister.
"Did I? I could of done much more... but instead I destroyed her in one sentence..." She said as Cadence stepped forward.
"Its in the past now. You've grown since then and your student is proof of your success" She added placing her hand on Celestia's other shoulder.
"I suppose your right." She said as they left the room. However, shortly after, the mirror began to glow the same sickly dark glow it had years ago as a gloved hand burst through it.
Celestia looked down as Twilight and her friends walked into the throne room after being Introduced by the new guard. She walked down to the new Princess and smiled. "Twilight, its good to see you again." Twilight smiled back and bowed to Celestia on instinct.
"Same to you Princess! We haven't seen each other since the coronation!" Celestia chuckled and pulled her back up gently from the bow.
"Indeed, though there is no need for that. We are all equals here." She said only for the air to suddenly get cold.
"Oh really Celestia? Last I checked it was everyone was equal to you but me." A dark feminine voice said out of nowhere. Everypony looked around in fear as the lights began to fade.
"WHOS THERE?" Celestia said as she began to glow to illuminate the room only for her light to drain as well. "Surprise Surprise, you forgotten me... What has it been for you, a month? A year? No, two and a half years to be persice. Enough time to replace me with that purple twerp." Celestia's eye's shrunk in realization as Twilight turned to her in fear.
"What does she mean?" She asked only for the doors to be blasted off their hinges and flung into the opposite side of the room. Everypony covered their eyes as the dust settled. Twilight opened her eyes and saw what stood before them. A single lone figure stood in the area the door was, her body radiating dark power, her hair flowing wildly, its colors drained but could make out that it was originally red and yellow, as was her tail. For some reason her face was completely covered by a mask with just one eye hole showing their face, the eye being pure yellow as the whites in their eye was blood red. On their back was a set of wings, however more demon shaped than princess like. On her chest in between her breasts was a gem fused to her, glowing a sickly red. The stranger stepped forward, her combat boots leaving flames with every step.
"Oh how it feels GOOD to walk on solid ground again, a luxury you all will soon lose I'm afraid." She chuckled as she raised her gloved hand, blasting a laser at the guards standing in shock at her, killing them instantly. Twilight watched in disbelief and stared at this monster before her.
"Who are you?" She asked as the being stopped in front of her and begun to laugh.
"Of course you wouldnt know me. Celestia wanted to make sure her true priced student never found out about her own daughter, now would you Princess?"
Celestia frowned and fired a laser beam straight at her head shouting, "YOU ARE NOT SUNSET SHIMMER!" However, she was already gone before the laser hit. Celestia looked around only to spot her on the throne, sitting relaxed like.
"Oh, you are correct. I am not Sunset Shimmer. Not anymore." She stood up and walked towards Celestia as the guards who she hadn't murdered yet attempted to jump her, only for her to raise her fist and clench it as time seemed to freeze for them only for it to accelerate for their aging and turned them to dust. She walked up to Celestia and stared into her eyes. "Sunset Shimmer died the day you said SHE would make a better princess than me." She pointed at Twilight in frustration. "Look at what your actions have led to, you destroyed a girls dreams that you implanted into her in the first place. And this is the result."
Celestia frowned down at her and said, "So what, is this an attempt to prove to me that your more worthy to be a Princess than her now? If so, Id say yo-" She was suddenly cut off as a combat boot kicked her in the head flinging her into the wall. "Stupid Princess. Ive told you, Sunset Shimmer is dead. I no longer want to rule. I only crave one thing... Destruction." She said before floating up. Celestia slowly stood up as Luna, Cadence and Twilight ran up to her.
"I know Sunset Shimmer is still in there." Celestia said looking at the form of her daughter.
"Princess, who is Sunset Shimmer?" Twilight asked Celestia as she looked back at her. "Ill explain later." She said only for a laser to be fired next to her.
"Oh no, by all means Celestia, tell her. Tell her friends. TELL THE CLASS WHO I WAS!" she said crossing her arms. Twilight looked as her friends ran up to them.
Celestia looked up at her and sighed. "Sunset Shimmer was a student of mine before Twilight. I found her in an orphanage and adopted her. I told her she would be a princess like me one day and that she would be in your place Twilight." She said to her. "However I made the mistake of showing her you and telling her your destiny as well as her looking into a forbidden mirror and seeing herself as an alicorn drove her on a path to outdo you and become what I promised her. Then... one evening we had a fight. I had been bring you up alot, spending more time with you, and it had been destroying her. Finally I told her I had at one point thought to make you a princess instead of her... It shattered her soul and she fled into the mirror... But not before taking the gem stone that kept the mirror pure." She pointed at the gem fused to her chest.
The being chuckled at that. "Ah yes, the Phantom Ruby. Able to use Time and Space manipulation. Shame you only used it to power a mirror. When I stepped through that portal with the gem, I was trapped in the void between worlds. There was no escape. It drove me insane, but eventually I grew bored with that and went mad, before I even got bored with that."
Celestia stared at her and asked, "How long were you in there?"
The being chuckled and looked back at her. "In all honesty Ive lost track. Time does not exist in the void. Ive lived a hundred times your life and longer in there, and yet I still look as young as a teenage mare."
Celestia almost begun to cry and reach out for her daughter only for her eye to glow and she froze, minus her head. "Sunset... Please... we can work this out..." She said. Suddenly she was flung her into another wall with her powers unfreezing her to flop around like a rag doll.
"I am no longer Sunset you lying scum. Sunset is never coming back. You may refer to me... as Infinite... In the brief time you have left." Celestia struggled to get back up and looked at Infinite. She walked forward to her raising her hand up above her. Celestia tried to close her eyes in pain to try and cry, but Infinite froze her eye lids. "No... I want you to see your death."
Celestia managed to get some tears to finally come out and said, "Infinite... I'm sorry..."
She chuckled as she got ready. "I know... that makes this even sweeter." Suddenly she felt herself being blasted by the other princesses. she chuckled and snapped her fingers freezing them in place minus their eyes. "You will watch, and then your next." She said before turning back to Celestia. "Good Bye... Mother..." She said before dropping her hand down onto Celestia's head, smashing her skull.
Infinite spent the next few weeks traveling the globe in search of other races to destroy. One by one, she murdered them, wiping them from extinction, from the Yaks, to the griffins, to even the mighty dragons, none stood before her. Soon she even wiped the pony race out before finally reaching the tree of harmony. "This is to easy." She said as she stepped towards it. Suddenly she was blasted by the tree as it sensed the dark power approaching it. "Nice try tree, but your still going down." She said before dodging out ot the way freezing time again and stepped forward. she placed her hand on the tree and unfroze time. If the tree could talk, it would scream as she corrupted it, turning its silver trunk into dark red. "Nice try tree, but your still going down." "Now then... Suck this world dry... leave nothing left to support life... I want this world erased from existence." She turned around and walked away as the corruption of the tree took effect.
Infinite looked at her old world dying out and chuckled. "That was so much fun... shame its over..." she slowly turned around to view multiple versions of her reality. "Or is it?"

well Im betting people were wondering why I made this story in the first place if it barely had anything to do with MLP. well, lets fix that.
inspired by "Twilight Falls, Sunset Rises" a good read if I do say so myself. also lets say this is a late entry for Sunset Shimmer Day (though for me, thats every day)
