Time seems to move pretty fast in Ponyville, and as Apple Bloom and her foalhood friends grow older—and they begin to move away—she finds herself wondering whether Sweet Apple Acres is perhaps too small a world for her to inhabit for the rest of her days.

So when she learns of a secret kart racing society, and a prestigious race that would allow her to see a little more of the world, Apple Bloom grabs it with both forehooves. After all, surely getting out and about in Equestria would help her in finding out exactly what it is she wants from life.

And who knows? Perhaps it will help her work out why her friend Diamond Tiara decided to tag along too.
