I don't remember the last time I saw the sun, for years I was locket inside my own lab. Only researching about the bio-metal, as I named it. Along those long years, I started to slowly change parts of my body for ones made out of the bio-metal. At first I changed my back legs, since I lost feeling in them after another failed experiment, they where a success. Thus slowly I changed all my legs along with my lungs and lastly, my heart. I was lucky that the heart worked, since my old one has been damaged by a flying metal bar thrown at me by an explosion. My last experiment as of now, are some synthetic wings. The experiment has worked, but not as I expected. The wings work perfectly fine, however, they use my magical energy as fuel, and a lot of it too. Their size is way bigger then a normal pegasus's wings, I also managed to put some magic infused crystals in the wings so I can fly for longer, they also serve as decorations. Very recently I have found a hidden message in the original bio-metal. The message writes in the old dragon language:
We have managed to trap those who where stronger, the sea shall be their prison. But remember young ones, the seal won't last forever. They will return, and you must stop them. We do not want them to rule, if they do we will be punished for sealing them. Their metal-like skin will stop all blunt and fire attacks, so you must find another way! Be careful young ones, our future is in your claws only.
Closing my diary, I get out of my chair. My spine cracking as I stretch. "I should replace that too." I groaned as a yawn escaped my lips. "Alright, where did I put that scanner?" I mumbled as I searched for said device, which I would need considering the fact that I have no idea how the world changed. 'I wonder if Starswirl is still alive... I haven't talked to him in a while. I wonder how much time passes since I locked myself in my lab. I am sure I already outlived my normal lifespan because of the signs of age, but did Starswirl do the same?'
I guess I'll have to see with my eyes how the world has changed. I think something has happen, since my scanners showed some weird magic disturbances along the years. I hope things didn't change that much. But that's if I didn't just miss some really important events or I locked myself in that lab for who knows how long.
As I walked past many of my older experiments, and to the one I was looking for. In front of me stood a pair of bags that have an experimental technology allowing them to contain absurdly big quantities. The problem is that they weigh the same, but luckily I have my bio-mechanical limbs and some other bio-mechanical muscles, which had to be changed because they started becoming weaker each day, another sign of ageing. Maybe it has been a while, I regret that I locket myself a little. But you cannot change the past, so I'll have to deal with it. Picking up the bags with my magic I start gathering important experiments and other rare ingredients.
After getting the important projects and materials I opened an extremely old door, rust covering most of it. I tried to open it, but found that it was stuck. So I decided to kick the door open using the enhanced muscles. The door breaking to bits from the sheer power behind the kick. "I'll sadly have to get rid of the lab, thus no one will be able to steal my work." Arming a magical bomb, I started making my way out of the hidden artificial cave next to a town I think, since it has a lot of magical energy. Interesting.
I quickly grabbed my lab coat and a cloak so I could cover my bio-mechanical limbs and wings. 'I wonder how the world changed...' The place around my hidden lab was empty of civilization. 'I guess I can detonate the bomb without anyone hearing it.' And with a quick flick of my horn I activated the mechanism, and with a loud booming noise the cave my lab was in disappeared as vegetation quickly grew as the magic bomb's effects kicked in.
I quickly started moving in the direction my scanner indicated the most magic energy. 'I hope they still use gold coins.' I though as I charged my horn and teleported away.
Opening my eyes, I saw that I was near a city, quite a big one. A lot of ponies where looking at my location as, most of them being pegasi. It seems this is a pegasus city. I covered my face with the cloak and started walking inside the city. 'I wonder why I get so much attention?' Murmurs where exchanged between the residents. 'This reminds me of the last time I visited a city.' However ponies started gathering around me. Now that I get a closer look, why are they so short? Most of them are only coming to my shoulder. I think I made my legs longer for more strength. But the murmurs quickly started becoming unbearable. "This is quite enough." I said in a roughed voice, an annoyed huff escaping my lips. With another flick of my horn I teleported to the place that had the largest magical signature. Which I think is the place that this 'Celestia', who Starswirl told me about, lives.
When I opened my eyes once again, I was surrounded by white castle walls, gorgeous buildings filling up the place. White and gold where used everywhere. A lot of unicorns around wearing some weird flashy clothes, all of which looked at me with disgust. 'Maybe it's the clothes? But I can't show the wings, it'll attract even more attention than a cloak.' So I decided to make my way to the castle and talk with the rulers, and maybe find out where this Celestia is.
After walking for a while, some ponies in golden armor surrounded me. 'Maybe one of the nobles called them?' They quickly pointed their spears at me and spoke in a quick voice. "Halt!" He was a bit taller then the other guards, his armor having some purple decorations as well. With a white fur along with a blue striped main. 'I suppose he is the captain.'
Looking at him I spoke in a quite rough voice. "How may We be of help to thee?" He looked surprised for some reason, interesting...
"Some nobles have reported a suspicious tall figure in a cloak. So I ask of you to identify yourself." So those nobles are at fault after all. It also seems that the way of speech has changed as well.
"Our name be Moving Gear, We have traveled a long distance to talk to your ruler." I said as pulled down the cloak revealing my long grey main and beard along with my dark brown fur. A long pointy horn sprouting from my forehead. It seems that I am quite intimidating since most of the guards took a step back. But the captain stood his ground, a fine soldier from his composure.
"Is that so sir? Then do you mind if I escort you them?" With a nod we all started moving towards the castle. "Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Shining Armor, captain of the royal guard." I nodded as I coughed a little. 'It seems like there is an error in my lungs, I should fix that soon.' The walk to the castle was weirdly short, the guards next to two giant doors opened said doors and nodded to their captain.
As we walked around the castle, guards and maids kept stopping and staring at me. "So, what's with the cloak?" Shining Armor asked, trying to start a conversation.
"We have a 'condition'." At his confused look I raised my mechanical wings, earning a look of shock from him. "We hope this isn't that outrageous."
"N-no, it's alright. But how did you make them?" It took a while to explain him a way shorter version of the story, and when said story finished, we where already in front of two doors with a symbol of a moon and a sun, along with two alicorns flying around them.
"Hm, so that alicorn, Celestia, that Starswirl told us about is here." I said and entered before Shining Armor could say another word as the doors slammed open. In front of me laid two alicorns instead of one, and six other ponies. One of the alicorns fits Starswirl's description of Celestia, but the other one looked younger and with a more blueish darker tone in her fur and main. I didn't pay attention to the other six ponies.
"Ahem, may this be a bad time?" I asked with a raised eyebrow. The six ponies looked shocked for some reason.
"Is there anything we can help with? Is it really that important?" Celestia, I think, said as Shining came inside the room to try and stop me from intruding.
"Quite frankly, yes. I supposed you are Celestia? Starswirl told me to come to you if he's missing or he lost his life. I require some help with what can be called a discovery of an old artifact." However she seemed annoyed. 'Did I say something wrong?'
"Sir please leave, that is ridiculous." She said in an annoyed tone. "If you met a stallion that looks like him doesn't mean you've met the real one. Starswirl has left this world a thousand years ago." 'Is she saying I'm lying? I knew it!' "Please just leave, I have more important matters."
"It does not matter if you believe that I know Starswirl or not, the most important thing is dealing with the ancient message written in the old dragon language!" I said as I pulled out the message I've written on a piece of paper. However, she seemed to not know said language.
"What are you talking about? That is just gibberish, please just leave sir, I'm sure it's nothing important." I tried to convince her for a few more minutes, but I was treated like a madpony, which I guess I can be interpreted as. 'Well it seems that I have to take matters in my own hooves. Just how I like it!'
"So be it. You'll regret your decision." And with that my wings fluttered and with a flash I teleported outside of the castle. The cold wind making me shiver slightly. 'Has it been that long? I guess I'm on my own for now. Maybe I sounded crazy? Well, can't ask much about an old stallion.' Flying at a slower pace I kept looking around at the scenery. 'If it's been that long, then why is everything pretty much the same? The same designs for houses.' I though as I flew over some houses. Then I flied over the barracks, most soldiers looked extremely weak. The only exception was that Shining Armor. Then I started coughing. 'I think I caught a cold, well I think it was inevitable after so much time hidden from the world. I should rest, I may have overdone things. I may have a half bio-mechanical body, but they key word is half.'
I started gliding down to a village under the mountain. But before landing a though stopped me. 'I'll only get myself in more trouble the more ponies I talk to.' So I quickly changed directions and flew over the forest nearby. After a while I saw some castle ruins. Before landing, I felt some magical traps hidden inside of said ruins. They could be easily dealt with, however I decided otherwise. 'They could have an alarm on them, so I'll better not risk it.' And with a scan, I've found a room in the deeper parts of the castle which was free of traps. 'It seems I have found a temporary home.' It took a few hours to set up, however I managed to get everything the way I wanted it to be. And finally, after setting up an alarm so no one can get inside the ruins without me knowing about, my eyes closed. As I drifted in the realm of sleep, I cast a fast protective spell, so none could enter my dreams. 'None shall steal my experiments nor projects! I will not let anyone steal from me like the last time."

Ok so this is an idea I had for a while. So I though: 'Why not?' Anyway please comment on what you liked or didn't like.
