The ultimate surprise
Hopes spark
Previous ChapterDillan smiled softly as he looked up at the castle of Griffonstone, while Gilda stood beside him looking nervous. "Worried about being Queen?"
“No, of course I am not.” Gilda said with a huff, though she did look at the castle nervously.
Dillan smiled softly at her before walking over to the castle's entrance. "If you need anything, me, Skittles, Pinkie pie will be here as soon as possible."
Gilda looked away before she walked up to the door. “Thanks.”
"Of course." He said smiling at her as he opened the doors for her and bowed to her. "Your majesty."
Gilda groaned and frowned at him. “Don’t start unless you want to stay as mine.”
Dillan grinned a bit at her. "Did you enjoy it that much?"
Gilda almost tripped. “N-no!”
Dillan chuckled a bit. "If you want to, Skittles may let you join our herd… Or I suppose you'd call it a flock or something. "
Gilda looked away and walked into the castle. “Whatever.”
Dillan raised an eyebrow and smiled a bit. "Last night was wonderful, just so you know. You're one of the best I've been with." He said looking around the castle.
Gilda tripped this time and she glared at him with a blush. “Don’t say embarrassing things like that!”
Dillan smiled at her. "I'm just being honest, it was amazing. Besides, we're the only two here…"
Gilda grumbled as she walked further into the castle and looked around. “This place is trashed.”
"No kidding, it's been abandoned for what? Hundreds of years right?" He asked, looking at a knocked over suit of armor.
“Yeah.” Gilda poked a statue that fell over and fell to pieces.
Dillan looked around before pulling Gilda out of the way of a falling piece of stone. "Jeez… do you want me to use my transformation of Discord to help fix things up?"
“Do I have to pay you?” Gilda asked with a raised eyebrow.
Dillan sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. "No, I'm trying to be nice."
Gilda shrugged. “It would save me the money of hiring griffons to fix it up.”
"Unfortunately I'm not used to that transformation yet. So at best I'd be able to fix up your bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen. Basic amenities so you can live here." Dillan said, popping up his Ultimatrix and searching through his scans.
“Can you also fix the holes?” Gilda asked and pointed as a massive hole in the ceiling.
Dillan looked up and nodded as he turned it on a creature that looked like a jigsaw puzzle of different species but also being mostly pony. It had two hooves, two long black wings with a long white horn, and two griffon-like talons for hands with a dragon's head. "I'll do what I can." He said, snapping his fingers as the hole was repaired and a light flashed from a door behind Gilda. "That's your new bedroom."
Gilda glanced between the door and Dillan before she opened the door and looked inside. Dillan smiled as he returned to normal, sitting on the floor as he thought about the last few days while Gilda looked around her new room. "You didn't put much in here…" Gilda mumbled looking around the basic room, nothing but a comfortable bed and a desk on the wall with a chair to be seen.
"I… didn't know what you'd like it to be decorated as…" Dillan said, before he sighed softly.
“Eh, it is cool. Lets me do it myself. Plus I don’t have to worry about holes in the walls or the furniture falling apart.” She said as she came back, she looked him over and frowned. “Is…something wrong?”
Dillan shrugged a bit. "I… I'm honestly not sure… I'm… I'm sorry for giving you the idol and making you go through all this stress… I wasn't really thinking. You probably don't even want all this on your plate."
Gilda looked around at the castle then down at the idol in her grip. “I am ok with it. Any other griff would have just let the power go to their heads.”
Dillan nodded his head. "Sorry also about Rainbow dash asking you to… do that. I know you wanted to but like… I don't know if it feels like I'm using you all when something like that happened…. I don't know… I guess I'm just grieving."
“You can relax, if I didn’t want it I would have just left you out in the street.” Gilda said as she walked up to him.
"I know!" Dillan said suddenly before sighing. "Look before I came here my family died… my entire family along with my fiance and unborn child. And ever since I got here I've been… basically none stop fucking around. And been dealing with stuff… I haven't had the time to… to…"
“Geez…” Gilda looked down for a moment in thought. “Come back in a few days, we are going hunting.”
"Hunting?" Dillan asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Yeah, it is how griffons work through their issues.” Gilda said while looking away from him.
Dillan blinked a few times before smiling a bit. "I appreciate it, Gilda… I really do."
“Yeah well…you are Rainbows mate, and you aren’t that annoying.” Gilda said with a light blush.
Dillan smiled and kissed her cheek. "Still thanks, so what now?"
Gilda blushed more and wiped her cheek. “Now I guess you go back to Rainbow and I have to figure out how to get these griffons off their lazy tails.”
Dillan frowned a bit but tapped his chin. "Well… I can ask Celestia and Luna for help in rebuilding this castle for you. Or I could straight up pay the griffons to start rebuilding…. Do any of them know you have the idol of borrious?"
“Not yet.” Gilda said with a sigh. “I have to show them all or they will say it is a fake or something.”
Dillan nodded slowly. "Well then, how about we make a formal announcement? I'll keep them away from you and trying to get the idol."
Gilda hummed before she nodded. “Yeah, I could use the help.”
Dillan nodded and stood up, walking to the entrance of the castle. "Then let's go then, your majesty."
“D-don’t call me that…” She said with a groan but followed him outside.
"I mean you'll have to get used to it." Dillan said, rubbing the back of his neck. "Unless you don't plan on staying Queen."
She grumbled a bit. “Yeah yeah. Just feels weird coming from you for some reason.”
Dillan smiled a little at that before looking out over the Griffon kingdom. "This is beautiful…"
Gilda looked out, and her eyes seemed to widen and sparkle a bit. “It is…” She said softly.
Dillan smiled as he walked forward a bit so the sun was rising behind him, before he turned and offered his hand to her. "Ready to go?"
Gilda gulped a bit. “Yeah, let’s do this.”
Dillan smiled and took her claw as they went to the village, before letting go of her right before entering. "So how should we do this?"
“Like this.” She said before she flew a few feet into the air and held the idol up, letting the sunlight hit it and shine all over the village. “Griffons of Griffonstone! I have retrieved the idol!”
The griffons of Griffonstone paused and looked at her in shock and awe, some mumbling as other stared. "We have a new queen!" A griffon yelled as the crowd cheered.
Gilda blushed a bit before smiling. “That is right, and if you follow me we will be great once again!”
Dillan smiled at her as the griffons cheered again, as a large black griffon with gray feathers walked up to Gilda. "Your majesty." He said with a smug tone in his voice.
Gilda rolled her eyes and lowered the idol. “What do you want this time, Fluff Tail?”
"Well, as the new queen you'll need a strong male to help you rule and to produce an heir one day. Who better than the alpha?" He asked with a smug grin, as the griffons, Dillan, and ponies looked at Gilda.
Gilda scoffed and turned her head away. “Not a chance, you are no alpha. You are just a jerk.”
Fluff Tail smirked and walked around her, his tail in her face as she and Dillan both glared at him. "Come on, you know I'm the only Alpha here. Don't you want strong eggs?"
Gilda growled like a lion. “Back off now, or I will kick your ass!”
Fluff Tail laughed a bit as he grew closer to her his smirk never leaving his face, until he was forcibly pulled back by his tail causing the griffons to gasp. "She said back off dude, she's not interested." Dillan said, holding the tail of the Alpha griffon in his hand.
Gilda smirked at this and said. “If you want me so badly, then you have to prove you are the alpha and beat Dillan, and then me in combat.”
Fluff Tail looked back at Dillan with a frown and a growl. "Easy."
Dillan raised an eyebrow at him and Gilda. "I'm assuming this combat thing is a griffon tradition?"
“Yep, I am allowed to pick a champion, of course if you lose I have to fight him too.” Gilda said as she looked up at Dillan.
Dillan nodded a bit, before stumbling backwards as Fluff Tail punched him in the jaw. "Ah jeez! Dick move man! What a coward attacking someone while they're distracted!"
Gilda frowned and sighed. “Sadly…there are no rules for the challenge.”
Dillan glared at Fluff Tail, before quickly avoiding another punch and uppercutting the Griffon, sending him weeling backwards. "Not gonna work again!" He called out as he popped up his Ultimatrix.
“Gah! Scrappy monkey.” He said as he got his claws ready to cut Dillan.
Dillan glared at him before pushing down his Ultimatrix, a bright flash blinding Fluff Tail before he was once again punched away this time by a clawed hand. "Who are you calling a monkey you racist ass!" Dillan yelled, now standing as a black griffon that was much larger than Fluff Tail.
“What the heck!?” He shouted as he wiped some blood off his beak. “Where did that bold monkey go?”
"He is that bold money whipper snapper!" Grandpa Gruff yelled from the crowd. "He's the one that saved Griffonstone from the Arimaspi yesterday!"
Dillan smirked and cracked his knuckles. "No rules in the challenge right? So transformation is completely allowed."
“What!? N-no magic has to be against the rules!?” He shouted as he took a step back.
“It isn’t, and you would know that if you are a real griffon, so either stay and fight or run away and never come back.” Gilda told him with a frown,
Fluff Tail glared at Dillan a bit before rushing at him, landing three hard punches to Dillan's chest, face, and gut. "Ha how's that!?"
Dillan simply turned his head back to Fluff Tail, before uppercutting him again. "Firstly, don't get cocky because of a few hits I let you land. Secondly I didn't use magic, I used a machine. Thirdly, whenever I transform I become the apex version of what I turn into." He started to say, walking slowly up to Fluff Tail before grabbing him but his neck as Dillan's eyes reflected the light making it appear like his eyes were glowing. "Now let me put this in a way you'll understand. You say you're an Alpha… I am. An alpha. And I will protect anyone I care about. So listen closely, if you try to go near Gilda again, or the idol of borrious… I'll clip your wings permanently."
Fluff Tail yelped and gulped, nodding his head quickly. “I-I-I understand, I forfeit!”
“Damn, he just keeps getting hotter.” Gilda said to herself as she looked Dillan over.
Rainbow smirked as watched Dillan release Fluff Tail, the cowardly Griffon flying away as the crowd cheered. "Queen Gilda! Queen Gilda!"
Dillan smiled as he returned to normal, dusting his hands off a bit. "Wasn't that a bit much?" Scootaloo asked Dillan with a frown. "Threatening to clip his wings permanently?"
"Well… creatures like him Scootaloo wouldn't stop unless something vital to them is threatened. His pride wouldn't have allowed him to give up unless I made him… and the Griffon DNA may have influenced me a bit…" He said, rubbing the back of his head with a chuckle.
“Oh boy, does that mean you are gonna be more aggressive in bed?” Rainbow asked with a smirk.
"If I'm a griffon, yes." Dillan said with a chuckle as he looked around at the griffons watching them. "Um.. what are they waiting for?"
Gilda blushed and sighed a bit. "F-for you to finish the tradition… due to what you said and how you said it… you've… laid claim to me."
Dillan's eyes widened as he blushed. "I did what?!"
Rainbow raised an eyebrow at Dillan. “You know…I am not mad but at least tell me when you want another mare in the herd.”
"I swear I didn't know!" Dillan said with a blush, as he glanced at the Griffons. "Um… what exactly is finishing the tradition?"
Gilda sighed and looked away. "You… have to kiss me…"
Rainbow smirked and bumped Dillan. “Go on already, I am cool with it.”
Dillan blushed at her before looking at Gilda, as she turned away causing him to grab her shoulder and pull her into a deep kiss as the Griffon's cheered happily . Gilda moaned softly and started to kiss back just as Dillan pulled away.
Dillan smiled softly at her as she blushed, looking away and making Rainbow chuckle. "See G? Isn't he amazing?"
Gilda smirked and let out a sigh. “Yeah, he is.”
Dillan blushed and rubbed the back of his neck as the Griffon's started to clean up the castle. "Wow, give them a reason to work And they'll do it."
“Yeah griffons are like that. Once we are motivated, not much can stop us.” Gilda said as she watched them work.
Dillan looked at Gilda. "Are you gonna be ok handling everything?"
“Yeah I think so.” Gilda said as she looked around, her chest puffed out with pride. “This…this is gonna work.”
Dillan smiled and nodded, looking at her. "If you need anything just send a letter, and we'll come running."
Gilda smirked at Dillan before she licked her beak. “Anything?”
Dillan blushed and smirked a bit. "Yes, anything just not everyday."
Gilda chuckled and smirked. “Good to know.”
Dillan smiled a bit but winked. "Maybe once a week or so, I can teleport here and give you anything you need."
“Sounds good.” Gilda said with a laugh.
“Hey Dillan, don’t you name your transformations? What is your griffon name?” Scootaloo asked him.
Dillan raised an eyebrow as he rubbed his chin. "Hmm… how about Razor Talon?"
“Not a bad name, a bit cliché but not bad.” Gilda said with a smirk.
Dillan shrugged a bit and grinned. "Hey, it may be a cliche. But it's all I could think of."
“Well, I guess I will see you around, Razor Talon.” Gilda said with a smirk.
Dillan smiled with a chuckle. "Alright, don't forget. Just send a letter if you need us."
“Sure thing.” Gilda said before she smiled and looked at the other griffons. “Let’s put this somewhere safe but where everygriff can see it.”
The griffons nodded as they began to work, making Dillan smile a bit. "I feel like this is a bit more than what the map had in mind for us."
“Maybe, but I think we did good.” Rainbow said with a smile.
Pinkie giggled and nodded as Scootaloo's wings buzzed. "Uh yeah! Plus I can write about how Griffonstone has a new queen for that homework you wanted me to do!" Scootaloo said happily.
Rainbow blinked before she looked at Scootaloo. “I almost forgot about that, get to work, Scoots.”
"I don't have any paper, or a pencil. I'll have to do it at home!" Scootaloo said before clopping her hooves together. "But even if it's short with the description of both fights and everything, plus the griffon traditions I'm sure to get an A!"
Pinkie giggled and smiled. “Clever filly.”
Dillan smirked and rubbed Scootaloo's head. "No kidding. Now come on, we'd better get to the train station."
“Before you go…there is something else.” Gilda said before she walked up to Rainbow and whispered something.
Rainbow dash smiled and nodded her head. "Go for it, but explain what it means since he's not from here."
“Right…” Gilda let out a sigh of embarrassment and frustration, then she tucked her head under a wing and plucked a primary feather, then held it out to Dillan. “This feather is a sign that we are close…very close, if you take it you accept me as part of your family.”
Dillan blushed as he looked at the feather before noticing Gilda's embarrassed look. "Alright… I accept." He said, gently taking the feather and smiling at her. "Welcome to the family Gilda."
Gilda smiled and nodded her head before waving them away. “Now get out of here before you make me any more soft.”
"See you around." Dillan chuckled and smirked a bit before he kissed Gilda's cheek, before they started walking away.
“Well that was surprisingly fun.” Rainbow said with a smile.
Dillan smiled a bit and nodded. "Yeah, I just hope Gilda can handle it all. I know she's a tough nut to crack, but stress can be a pain."
“She can handle it, she very rarely got stressed in flight school and she has us.” Rainbow said, still smiling.
"I know." Dillan said with a grin as Scootaloo giggled.
"I'm going to add the feather family thing in my report!" She said with a smile.
Rainbow chuckled and smirked. “Alright Scoots, but just try to make it vege who she gave it to.”
Scootaloo giggled and nodded. "I'll say it was given to her hero!"
Rainbow smirked and looked at Dillan. “I think that will work, don’t you?”
The human man blushed and looked away as he rubbed his neck. "Maybe…"
Rainbow snickered as she flapped her wings and got onto his shoulders. “Aww is monkey boy embarrassed?”
"Maybe…" Dillan said with a chuckle.
Rainbow leaned on his head and smiled. “Well you are my hero.”
Dillan chuckled as Scootaloo gagged. "Rainbow! You're too awesome to be mushy!"
Rainbow smirked and whispered into Dillan’s ear. “Pick her up and give her to me, I am gonna tickle her.”
Dillan shook his head with a chuckle as he picked up Scootaloo, and passed her to Rainbow dash. "Sorry Scoots."
“Huh?” Scootaloo asked, confused before Rainbow started tickling her, making her squeal and wiggle to get away.
Dillan chuckled a bit as they made their way down to the train station. “Ha ha ha D-Dillan save me!” Scootaloo begged as she laughed from the tickle attack.
"Skittles, let her go before she pees on me." Dillan said with a chuckle.
“Eeew.” Both Rainbow and Scootaloo said but Rainbow did stop.
"I knew that'd get you to stop." Dillan said with a small laugh, picking up and holding Pinkie in his arms.
“Weee! I get to ride too!” Pinkie said with joy.
"Of course you do, I'm not gonna make you walk while we have fun." Dillan said, tickling her underbelly a little.
Pinkie giggles and wiggles around. “Noo! Not the belly tickles!”
Dillan chuckled a bit more as the group got closer to the train station. "I wonder if Film Reel is back too."
“Maybe you should look to your left, Mr. Dillan.” A familiar voice said.
The group turned their heads to look at the voice, noticing Film Reel standing beside them at the train station. "Oh jeez sorry I didn't see you."
“It is alright, I have mastered the art of stealth.” She said with a giggle.
"I can see that, were you able to finish what you needed to do in Griffonstone?" He asked as the group waited for the train.
“Yes, it was a bit dangerous when that beast showed up but you took care of it.” She said with a smile.
Dillan blushed a bit and looked away. "I just did what I had to do…"
“Well let me thank you personally, as you stopped that thing from destroying the set of my next film.” She said while holding out a hoof to Dillan.
Dillan smiled and shook her hoof with his Ultimatrix arm, causing his watch to glow yellow as a beam washed over her. "Uncataloged DNA detected."
She flinched and looked at the Ultimatrix. “What did that just do?”
"Scanned your DNA, strange I swear I already have a unicorn scan… oh well." Dillan said with a shrug. "Anyway, you wanted to learn about the lantern corps right?"
Film Reel’s eyes had widened a bit. “Uh..y-yeah if that's ok with you.”
"Of course, but once I tell you you'll probably have to tie radiance from the power ponies into the lore somehow. They have very similar abilities." Dillan said with a smile.
“Really?” She hummed and seemed to calm down. “I will have to speak with the owner of the comics about this.”
"Ok so basically, the lantern corps are all based on emotions. Well, except two." Dillan said with a smile. "Red, rage, orange, greed, yellow, fear, green, will, blue, hope, indigo, compassion, and violet aka pink is love. That's the one similar to Radiance."
“Fascinating, what are the other two?” She asked as she wrote everything down.
"Black and white. Death and life." Dillan said with a smile.
“Oh my.” She gasped and wrote it down. “Such dark concepts.”
"Well the black lantern corps is made up of nothing but zombies. And the white lantern corps only originally had one member, since it's hard for a living being to master the entire emotional spectrum. That's what makes up the lantern corps abilities." Dillan said with a smile. "Each corp has an Entity as well, a being made up of the emotion they represent, plus one that represents death and one that is the embodiment of all life."
“So many details, I just know colts all over Equestria will love it!” She said while writing.
"Oh you have no idea." Dillan said with a laugh. "Each corp used a power battery shaped like a lantern that they used to recharge their rings. Each ring allows them to fly, survive in deep space, and have universal translators to understand all languages. They can create light constructs based off of anything they imagine. The stronger the connection to the emotion the ring channels the stronger the construct."
“Amazing, it really is like Radiance.” She said with a smile as she wrote.
Dillan chuckled a bit. "You should know, the farther away a lantern is from the center of the emotional spectrum the more unstable they can be. For example, becoming a red lantern is a death sentence unless they're near a blue lantern."
"Why?" Scootaloo asked with a frown.
"The red lantern ring replaces the heart of its user and all the blood in their body with napalm red energy. If the ring is removed and the user dies, the blue ring has the ability to negate that." Dillan said with a smile.
“So dark, but anger is one of the less appetizing emotions.” Film Reel said while taking down notes.
“Yikes, you don’t have a red ring do you?” Rainbow asked with a frown.
"No? I have a fake blue ring back home, it's in the bag I have at home." Dillan said with a shrug. "But for young kids you can alter the red ring so it won't kill anyone in stories. Also each corp has an oath they use to recharge their rings."
“Oh I would love to hear them.” Film Reel said but Rainbow was looking at her with suspicion.
"Ok, wanna start with the red lantern oath?" Dillan asked with a smile.
“Sure, whichever order you want.” Film Reel said with a smile.
"Well all the lantern oaths follow a similar pattern to the green lantern oath." Dillan said with a smile. "The green lanterns were the first of them, their oath is. In brightest day, in blackest night no evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil's might beware my power green lantern's light."
“Interesting, what about…love?” Film Reel asked as she took notes.
Dillan smiled a bit as he glanced at her with a knowing look. "For hearts long lost and full of fright, for those alone in blackest night. Accept our ring and join our fight. Love conquers all with violet light."
“That is a lovely oath.” Film Reel said while writing it down.
Dillan smiled a bit as Rainbow dash glared at Film Reel. "Let's see… Blue is in fearful day in raging night, with strong hearts full our souls ignite. When all seems lost in the war of light. Look to the stars for hope burns bright."
“That makes sense.” She nodded and wrote that down. “Um…i-is there a problem miss?” She asked Rainbow while starting to back away.
Dillan raised an eyebrow at Rainbow dash as she glared at Film Reel. "What did you mean by rage is an unappetizing emotion?"
Film Reel’s eyes widened and she gulped. “Um…I meant that most ponies don’t like to see anger on the big screen?”
Rainbow dash snorted. "Oh I'm sure, how about you tell us who or what you really are."
“Wh-what do you m-mean?” Film Reel asked with a nervous smile.
Dillan rolled his eyes as he saw the train coming. "Skittles leave her alone."
“Dillan I think she isn’t the real Film Reel.” Rainbow whispered with a slight growl.
Dillan raised an eyebrow before humming. "You think she's a changeling?"
“Yes!” Rainbow whisper shouted.
Dillan blinked a few times as he looked at Film Reel, shaking fearfully. "That would explain why I was able to scan her… guess I can turn into a changeling now."
Film Reel backed away. “Please don’t turn me in, I worked so hard to fit in, I don't want to have to start over all over again.”
Dillan raised an eyebrow at her. "Huh? Why would we turn you in?"
“Because she is a changeling, duh! They are evil luck suckers!” Rainbow said as she got between Dillan and Film Reel.
Film Reel stepped back sadly as Dillan frowned at her. "Rainbow dash! What the hell!"
“What!? I was there in Canterlot when they invaded.” Rainbow said as she glared at Film Reel.
Dillan grabbed Rainbow's shoulder and pulled her around to face him. "You of all creatures should know how it feels to be assumed to be dangerous! Just because a single group of changelings attacked doesn't make them all dangerous!"
“What!? But she probably works for Chrysalis!” Rainbow said while pointing at Film Reel.
"I don't! I don't live with any hives!" Film Reel said as Dillan shook his head at Rainbow dash.
"I'm disappointed in you Skittles." He said with a frown.
“What!? How am I in the wrong for looking out for you?!” Rainbow shouted.
"Because you're making the same assumptions the humans who hurt you did!" Dillan said with a frown. "You're behaving no better than them…"
“What!? But…but they…she…” Rainbow said as she backed away from Dillan.
"She what Skittles? Did she attack us? Did she drain us of energy? Or did she simply ask questions to do her job?" He asked with a frown.
“What about the real Film Reel?! She is probably in a cocoon somewhere.” Rainbow said, trying to justify her actions.
"I am the real Film Reel, this form is made up of different colors of coat and a mane from ponies I saw on the street." Film Reel said with a soft smile. "And I don't steal love either. I get more than enough from the love every pony has for my movies."
Rainbow looked between Film Reel and Dillan. “But…changelings attack Canterlot…they are evil…right?”
Dillan sighed and pinched his nose. "Rainbow… that's the same kind of thinking that the ponies of ponyville who are avoiding me have."
Rainbow let out a whine as her ears folded back and she looked down.Dillan smiled a bit at her as he gently hugged her. "It's ok, I know you're just worried about me. But believe me when I say. I'll be ok."
“But…I thought all changelings followed their queen…” Rainbow muttered weakly.
"There's more than one queen." Film Reel said with a smile. "But we are also able to live on our own."
“More than one queen? I don’t understand.” Scootaloo said from behind Pinkie. “I thought everypony had one leader to follow like we have the princesses.”
Film Reel shakes her head. "Not changelings, we function similar to bee hives. Multiple haves have multiple queens."
Rainbow’s ears perked up. “M-multiple!?”
Film Reel nods. "Yes, my original hive was across the sea in saddle arabia."
“So…you aren’t working for that meanie that attacked Canterlot and tried to steal Shining away?” Pinkie asked her.
"That's what she's been saying this whole time." Dillan said with a sigh as the train arrived.
“I…don’t know how to feel.” Rainbow said as she moved closer to Dillan.
"It's alright, Chrysalis attacking Canterlot has put all changelings in danger of being hated." Film Reel said with a frown. "Even back home where we have a treaty with the steeds of Saddle Arabia, I've heard tensions are extremely high right now."
“Maybe Dillan can help later after he relaxes.” Pinkie said with a smile.
"I'd love to, plus I can get new scans." Dillan said with a grin.
Pinkie giggled and nuzzled him. “I thought you’d want to help.”
Dillan rubbed the back of his head with a small smile. "Well… my watch was made to bring species closer together. And I've always hoped creatures could get along, so I'll do my best to help."
“You don’t have to do that…” Film Reel said as she looked down.
Dillan chuckled a bit, making her look up at him. "I know I don't have to. I want to." He said as they got on the train. "Now come on, I still need to finish telling you all about the lanterns."
“R-right.” She got the notepad back out.
"Ok so the orange oath is one of my personal favorites. This is my power, this is my light. Be it in bright of day, or black of night. I lay claim to all that falls within my sight, to take what I want that is my right… but there is another one that the last remaining orange lantern uses and it's just the word mine a bunch of times and then not yours." Dillan said as they all sat down, while he gently rubbed Rainbow's head.
Scootaloo giggled and smiled. “That sounds funny.”
"It is but the orange lanterns are one of the most dangerous corps. I think the three most dangerous in my opinion are red, orange and Indigo. Because you can't say no to the rings. With red if you have a lot of rage in your heart you automatically become a red lantern, orange you become so greedy you'll never part with it. And indigo is a parasitic energy it brainwashes the users if they don't have enough compassion." Dillan said, shaking his head.
“That is horrible!” Film Reel said.
"Yeah, but with all of them if your will is strong enough I believe you can overcome them. Or just have enough compassion for indigo." Dillan said with a shrug.
“I see.” She wrote that all down.
"What's the yellow lantern oath?" Scootaloo asked with a tilted head.
"In blackest day, in brightest night. Beware your fears made into light, let those who try to stop what's right. Beware my power, Sinestro's might." Dillan said with a small smile.
“Wow, this Sinestro guy must have a big ego.” Rainbow said with a frown.
"You have no idea. He used to be a green lantern, but he forged the Sinestro corp, aka the yellow lantern corps because he believed fear was better." Dillan said with a shrug.
“Well it isn’t, fear tastes disgusting.” Film Reel said with a frown.
"Not feeling fear, making others afraid." Dillan said. "Causing fear to keep others in line and keep order."
Film Reel wrote that down. “Could be a good villain.”
“Sounds like they are evil.” Scootaloo said.
"They are considered the evil counterpart to the green lanterns." Dillan said with a shrug.
"What about the indigo corps oath?" Film Reel asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Oh, ok. So there was no translation for it that I could find so it's in another language." Dillan said as he held his chin. "Let me think… Tor lorek san, bor nakka mur, Natromo faan tornek wot ur, Ter lantern ker lo Abin Sur, Taan lek lek nok — Formorrow Sur!”
“Interesting, what about the others?” Film Reel asked as she wrote down what he said.
"Black is. The darkest night falls from the skies, darkness grows as all light dies. We crave your hearts and your demise. By my black hand the dead shall rise." Dillan said, smirking as they looked at him in shock. "Oh did I fail to mention the black lantern corps is nothing but zombies?"
“N-no you didn’t but even in your calm voice that was creepy.” Film Reel said before she wrote it down. “Maybe a Nightmare Night movie.”
"Oh the black rings can also take over anyone that's ever died and been brought back to life." Dillan said with a smile.
“I would think that is obvious as you said only zombies can be part of it.” Film Reel said with a giggle.
"No I mean anyone that died, and came back to life. Not as a zombie but back to life, life. Can be possessed by the rings." Dillan said.
"You mean like when Filly-second died in the power ponies comics and was brought back to normal?" Scootaloo asked with a tilt of her head.
"Exactly." Dillan said with a smile.
“That is freaky.” Rainbow said before poking his head. “You sure you aren’t making this up?”
"I swear I'm not, in the universe where the green lanterns exist there's multiple superheroes that died and came back to life." Dillan said. "And the black rings took over them. It wasn't until the entities of life gave those same heros white lantern rings that they were able to beat the black lanterns and the entity of death Necron."
“Hmm, sounds kinda hard to make into a movie.” Film Reel said while rubbing her chin.
"Oh trust me, you'll need comic books, TV shows and a lot of other stuff. The lantern mythos is one of the most expensive and expansive I know of. There's even three other lanterns that I don't know too much about." Dillan said, shaking his head.
Rainbow started laughing and leaned on him. “That is my Dillan, a big old nerd.”
Dillan blushed and chuckled a bit. "Yeah well, I do love green lanterns. Most of the super heros back home were either geniuses, aliens or had the money to have stuff made for them. With the rings all you need is a strong sense of justice and a strong will or connection to the other emotions. Anyone can be them and I love it."
“Sounds kinda like the elements.” Rainbow said with a smile.
Dillan chuckled softly and smiled. "I suppose, but on a galactic scale. There's thousands of each member of the corps aside from orange."
“Wow, so they are kinda like plumbers.” Scootaloo said with a grin.
Dillan blinked and looked at her. "Huh… you're right."
“Hey do you think if the lanterns were real they would work with the plumbers?” Pinkie asked with a silly smile.
Dillan chuckled a bit. "I'd imagine so, they are both cops."
“Cool.” Scootaloo and Pinkie said at the same time.
Film Reel continues to write down things. "What were those other three lanterns you mentioned?"
"The first is the phantom lantern, it's a single ring that can channel all the other emotions. But it's highly unstable." Dillan said.
“Whoa, if somepony could make it stable it would be unstoppable I bet.” Rainbow said.
"Oh no, it's because it channels all the emotions that it's unstable. If you feel any emotion enough it automatically shifts to that emotion." Dillan said but smiled. "Actually there is an even more powerful corp than the white lanterns… supposedly. It's the gold lantern corp. However as far as I know there's only one lantern, they have two rings to harness the powers. And the only way to become a gold lantern is to feel nothing but happiness for your whole life."
“That sounds…impossible.” Film Reel said with a frown.
"I'm pretty sure that's why there's only one." Dillan said with a smile. "There's also the ultra violet corp. They use the power of the emotions no one wants to show."
“You mean like hornyness?” Pinkie asked with a giggle.
Dillan sighed and shook his head. "If you wanna look at it like that."
Scootaloo made a gagging sound. “Gross.”
Dillan chuckled and rubbed her head, as Film Reel looked at him. "Anything else?"
“Yeah, is there anything else?” Pinkie asked with a bright smile.
Dillan tapped his chin in thought. "Um… Oh! The very first green lantern to be made wasn't a part of the green lantern corp. He forged his ring out of a meteorite and it used magic. It has a weakness to wood but that's because he believes his weakness is wood since he got jumped by a guy with a wooden bat."
Everyone giggled or laughed. “Wood is his weakness?” Rainbow asked.
"Only because he believes it is. If he stopped believing that I'm pretty sure he'd be invincible." Dillan said with a smile.
“That is kinda funny.” Film Reel said with a giggle.
"Oh just wait until you hear the rest of the mythos." Dillan said with a smile before he spent the entire train ride explaining the events of emerald Twilight, the origins of the lantern corps, blackest night and brightest day and finally the third army.
"This will be an incredible series." Film Reel said with a smile.
"Yeah, maybe you can make each story into a movie. The creation of the green lanterns, then the other lanterns being found, blackest day. Etcetera." Dillan said with a smile while the group got off the train at Ponyville.
“I think with everything you gave me, I will have to make multiple parts for each arc.” She said while putting her notepad away. “Unfortunately my notepad is full, so I can't take any more notes today.”
"That's fine, if you want I can tell you about some other shows from where I come from that you'd probably love to make into movies or shows." Dillan said with a grin. "We can meet at Sugar cube corner tomorrow morning, but I warn you. You'll probably need at least three binders full of paper."
Film Reel’s eyes widened. “Th-three?! That is a lot of information.” She said before sighing. “Alright, I will be there and…thank you for being understanding.”
Dillan smiled a bit. "It's what the creator of my watch intended. It's a bridge to bring creatures together. That and I know not all changelings are evil. Lumping you all together wouldn't be right."
She smiled softly and nodded her head. “Still, thank you. I will try to keep an ear out for trouble as well. Maybe give you a heads up if that jerk tries something again.”
He nodded with a smile as he went to shake her hoof. "I appreciate it, see you tomorrow."
“Yes, see you tomorrow.” Film Reel said with a smile before she walked off.
“I guess….I was wrong about her.” Rainbow said with a small frown.
Dillan smiled a bit and rubbed her head. "Hey it's alright, you were just being cautious."
“I guess, but I feel like I messed up.” She said with a sigh.
Scootaloo nuzzled against Rainbow's side as Dillan smiled softly. "It's ok, everyone messes up from time to time."
Pinkie let out a massive gasp. “Oh no! We forgot to take pictures!”
Dillan smirked a bit as he pulled out his phone. "Got em, I had a hard time sleeping last night so I went around and took pictures."
“Oh, okey-dokey then.” Pinkie said with a smile as she started to hop around.
Rainbow frowned and looked at him. "You had another nightmare didn't you?"
Dillan looked away with a sad look. "I… I don't want to talk about it right now."
“Dang it Dillan.” Rainbow said before she flew up onto his shoulders and hugged his head.
"You've been Having nightmares?" Scootaloo asked with a frown as Pinkie looked at them with her ears down. "The one in the train wasn't the first one?"
"L-look, it's ok… I'll be fine." Dillan said with a smile.
“Dillan we are all here for you, our herd is here for you.” Rainbow said as she hugged more.
Dillan nodded as he hugged her hooves. "i-i just… I don't know why I keep having them…"
“You are sleeping in a pony pile tonight mister.” Rainbow said with a light bonk on his head.
"A pony pile? While I won't say no, I do overheat easily." Dillan said with a sad smile.
“I will take care of that.” Rainbow waved it away.
Dillan smiled a bit as they walked to the castle, tears swelling in his eyes. "T-thank you…"
Rainbow hugged Dillan tighter. “You are our stallion, we care for you.”
"You only care for me? And here I thought you all loved me." Dillan said with a cheeky smirk.
Rainbow rolled her eyes as Pinkie gasped over dramatically. “Of course we love you Dillan, we want what's best for you!” Pinkie said before she hopped up into his arms and kissed his lips.
Dillan blushed and chuckled, kissing her back. "I know Pinkie, it was just a joke."
Rainbow leaned her head in front of Dillan’s vision. “Do you want to eat before we meet up with Twilight?”
"Do you want to?" Dillan asked her with a grin as her's, Scootaloo's, and Pinkie's bellies growled. "I'll take that as a yes."
The mares’ cheeks glow red as Scootaloo laughed. “I would think the same, let's eat!”
"Where to then? Or would you all like me to cook you something at my house?" He asked with a smile as Scootaloo's wings buzzed.
"Spaghetti!" She said with a wide grin.
Rainbow smiled. “Yeah that sounds good.”
“Ooo ooo can I help?” Pinkie asked while giggling.
Dillan grinned and nodded. "Sure, but I warn you..it's been a few… weeks since I've eaten meat. I'm gonna have to cook some to mix into my portion of the spaghetti."
“That's ok, we understand.” All three of them hug him.
Dillan smiled softly as he hugged them back while they walked to his house. "Thanks girls."
Rainbow smiled and nuzzled his hair. “It is what family does Dillan.”
Dillan paused for a second, his eyes widening before he smiled softly. "I-i know…"
Scootaloo looked up at Dillan as she asked. “Are you ok? You look sad.”
He nodded softly as he buried his face in her mane and rubbed her back. "I'm ok Scoots, just… I guess I'm still processing everything that's happened recently."
She gives him a hug. “It will be ok, you have so many amazing mares to help you.”
Dillan smiled softly and hugged her back, closely. "And you have me and everyone else to help you get through everything with your mom."
Scootaloo looked down. “I…I had forgotten about that actually…”
Dillan's eyes widened as he looked worried. "Oh crap, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to…"
“I-its ok.” She laid her head on his chest. “Today and yesterday were fun.”
Rainbow dash smiled and rubbed her back with a wing as they grew closer to his house. "Yeah it was Squirt, just don't skip school again."
Scootaloo pouted a bit. “But it was your fault for leaving me home alone.”
Dillan and Rainbow chuckled nervously. "You got us there." He said as they got to his house.
Scootaloo wiggled in his grip and had a light blush. “Um can you set me down please?”
Dillan raised an eyebrow as he set her down, before opening the door. "Everyone ok?"
“Yes, everything is fine!” She said before she ran inside and headed straight for the bathroom.
Dillan raised an eyebrow before shrugging a bit as he went into the kitchen. Rainbow chuckled and lightly bonked his head. “She needed to go you knucklehead.”
"Yeah I figured that, I'm just confused as to why she was embarrassed. I mean everyone goes to the bathroom." Dillan said, getting the water for the noodles.
“Because you were holding her, if she didn’t get down fast enough and had an accident it would be on you.” Rainbow said before she hopped off.
"Oh… good point." Dillan said, grabbing a pan to cook his meat.
Rainbow started running the water and began making a cloud. “You want or need anything?”
"I'm alright, and what are you doing?" He asked as Pinkie started getting a bowl with sauce for the spaghetti.
“I am making a cooling cloud, a cheap way to keep a room cool for a whole day or night.” Rainbow said with a smirk.
Dillan chuckled softly. "You realize we still have to go see Twilight right?"
“Yeah and? It will be ready and your room will be nice and cold for the pony pile tonight.” She said with a smile before she splashed Dillan with some water.
Dillan paused and looked at her. "Oh really? You're not allowed in the pony pile."
Rainbow gasped and frowned at him. “Oh really? Then maybe I will splash you more!”
Dillan kept staring at her before sighing with a smirk. "Darn it you're learning my bluffs!"
Rainbow smirked and stuck her tongue out. “Yep, and soon I will have you eating out of my hoof.”
Dillan sighed overdramatically. "Oh no, whatever shall I do." He said before smirking and splashing her back with water. "That!"
Rainbow sputtered and shook her face. “Why you!” The two began slashing each other and laughing.
Pinkie giggled as she kept cooking. "You two be careful you don't get the water in the sauce-" she said before Dillan splashed her, making her turn her head slowly to him.
"Uh oh." Dillan said with a nervous smile.
“Of course you know, this means war.” Pinkie said before she grinned and reached into her mane, pulling out a water balloon.
"C-come on now, we're inside and it'll make a mess and probably mess stuff up. I'm bad with bits, remember? I'll probably spend all of them on one thing!" Dillan said with a nervous grin as he backed away with his hands up.
Pinkie giggled menacingly as she lifted the water balloon, ready to throw it.
Rainbow giggled a bit as she kept Dillan in place. "Go for it Pinkie!"
"This is gonna suck." Dillan mumbled to himself as Scootaloo came out of the bathroom.
Pinkie laughed like a mad mare and threw the balloon at Dillan’s face, causing it to break and balloon prices to fall on the ground. Scootaloo giggled as she saw Dillan's unhappy face. "He looks mad."
"Get out of my house, all three of you." He said with a glare.
“Aww but we were having fun.” Pinkie said with a sigh and started to walk out of the kitchen.
"Yeah but I asked you not to do that." Dillan said with a hidden smirk as Rainbow dash giggled seeing it.
“I am sorry, I thought you were acting.” Pinkie said as she left the kitchen, a few seconds later a water balloon came flying out from the doorway hitting Dillan in the face. “Just like I was!” Pinkie shouted before giggling.
Dillan sighed and shook his head before continuing to cook, making Pinkie pop her head into the kitchen in confusion and worry. “D-did I mess up?” She asked, worried she upset him for real.
Dillan smirked a bit before frowning and looking back at her before slowly walking out the back door. "Um, maybe you should talk to him." Scootaloo said, playing along with Dillan.
Pinkie lowered her head in shame and followed him. “Dillan, I am sorry!”
Pinkie was suddenly blasted with a torrent of water, making her gasp as she looked up, seeing a large red creature with holes in its hands. "Meet Water Hazard, and now we're even."
Pinkie blinked a few times before she giggled and hugged Dillan. “Thank goodness you aren’t mad.”
Dillan chuckled as he returned to his human form. "Of course not, I don't get mad that easily." He said, helping her up. "Now come on, let's finish cooking."
“Okey-dokey-lokey!” Pinkie said with a smile.
"Want a towel?" Dillan asked with a smile as they walked inside.
“Nah, you get to enjoy my wet look.” Pinkie said with a seductive smirk before she giggled.
"Pervert." Dillan said with a chuckle as they continued to cook.
Pinkie giggles more and bumps Dillan’s leg with her flank. “You love it.”
"Did I say I didn't?" Dillan asked her with a smirk, as he cooked up the meat.
Pinkie giggled though she did take a few steps away from the cooking meat. “Do you need any seasoning or anything?”
"Could you get me some pepper and garlic please?" Dillan asked as he shook up the meat.
“Sure.” Pinkie got the pepper and garlic for him. “Here ya go.”
"Thank you." Dillan said with a smile, sprinkling the garlic and pepper onto the meat as Scootaloo and Rainbow dash watched them.
"You two work well together in the kitchen." Scootaloo said with a smile.
“I guess that is because I work at a bakery so I'm used to working with others.” Pinkie said with a smile before she giggled. “Or maybe it is because me and Dillan are cooking mates.”
Dillan blushed a bit and smirked as he spread butter on some bread. "Or both, who knows."
Scootaloo gaged a bit. “Please no more mushy stuff, not till after I go to bed.”
"We still have to go see Twilight, and don't you have a paper to write?" Dillan asked her with a grin.
Scootaloo pouted and walked out of the kitchen. “Fine, I will write it now..”
Dillan chuckled a bit as he put the bread with garlic on top into the oven. "Alright, everything is done. I'm gonna go take a quick shower."
“Want some company?” Pinkie and Rainbow asked at the same time then they looked at each other before laughing.
Dillan rolled his eyes with a smile. "Surprisingly no, I love how we spend so much time together. But I do need some time alone once in a while."
“Ok, we understand, but when you are done we may shower together.” Rainbow said with a smile.
Dillan smirked and rolled his eyes. "I forbid any sexy times without me."
Both mares rolled their eyes. “Dillan, you silly pants, ponies often share showers and baths together in a communal way because we can’t reach everywhere on our own.” Pinkie said in a matter of fact tune.
"And we're all in a herd, you've both proven to be horny little minxies, and you're pregnant. I don't know when hormones will kick in. But I'm gonna be prepared." He said with a chuckle, as he went to the living room. "Mind keeping an eye on the garlic bread?"
“Sure thing.” Rainbow said with a laugh. “Just don’t use up all the hot water.”
"No promises." Dillan smirked at her, as he went into his bedroom pausing at the sleeping purple Alicorn on his bed. "Twilight?" He asked as he slowly walked over to her, noticing the pillows were wet with tears.
Twilight let out soft little whimpers as she twitched in bed. Dillan frowned and gently rubbed her back, brushing her mane out of her face as he did his best to comfort her. Her frown slowly faded as she nuzzled the pillow and sniffed it. "Ok that's both cute and creepy." Dillan said with a chuckle, as he slowly wrapped his arms around her and rubbed her back..
Twilight’s eyes slowly opened. “Dillan?” She called out softly.
"Good morning, are you feeling better?" He asked her, gently rubbing her back as he held her close to him.
She blushed lightly and nodded. “I am sorry for breaking into your home and sleeping on your bed…I just…needed something.”
Dillan smiled softly and kissed her forehead gently. "That's alright, I saw the tear stains on the pillow. We can talk about it if you want?"
Twilight looked down in shame. “I…I upset Luna with how I was talking and…I don’t know if I should tell you any more.”
"Hey, come on. I'm a big boy, I can handle it." He said with a playful grin.
Twilight looked down and sniffled. “Luna said I should have more faith in you…I saw Pinkie’s, Rainbow’s and your marks disappear from the map and I got worried…”
"Hey, hey it's alright." Dillan said, gently rubbing her cheek as tears fell from her eyes. "It's natural to be worried about those you care about, and Lulu is like a thousand years old or more. She's had experience, you're just beginning."
“B-but she is right, I shouldn’t have assumed the worst…I should have believed you would be ok…” She said as she tried to look away.
"And am I ok?" He asked with a smile as he gently rested her head against his chest. "Does it feel like a dream or anything?"
“No…it doesn’t…and you are ok.” Twilight said slowly as she listened to his heartbeat.
"And that's all that matters. You're new to relationships, and it's ok to be worried. You just need to believe that I'll always come back safe and sound." Dillan said, gently stroking her mane.
She nodded slowly. “Ok.”
The two simply stayed there for a while, holding each other before Dillan slowly pulled away. "Kinda a personal question. But would you like to join me for my shower before dinner?"
Twilight smiled and nodded as she wiped her eyes. “Yes, I could use a shower right now.”
"Alright, I'll heat up the water." Dillan smiled softly as he slowly got up, going into the bathroom.
“Ok, I…I will try to collect myself.” Twilight said while trying to control her breathing and calm down.
Dillan looked at her with a soft smile from the bathroom. "Hey, it'll be alright." He said before beginning to undress. "I'm gonna have to talk with Lulu after this…" he thought to himself.
“Thank you.” Twilight called from the bed.
Dillan smiled a bit as he turned on the shower. "it's ready whenever you are!"
Twilight walked in with a slight blush. “I haven’t shared a shower with a stallion since I was little and it was Shining.” She slowly stepped into the bathtub. “I hope I don’t make things awkward.”
"Oh trust me, there's no way you can make it any more awkward than my first time showering with my fiance back home…" Dillan said with a laugh, that slowly died down as he spoke. "We were in the shower together and not knowing what to do I reached around her to get the soap and she ended up rubbing against me. We were teenagers so I'm sure you can guess what happened to me, we hadn't even had sex yet."
Twilight blushed and her wings started to stand erect. “O-oh m-my.”
"So yeah, you can't get more awkward than that. But if it helps I can tell you about our trip to Griffonstone." Dillan said with a smile as he knelt down, and gently moving the shower head over Twilight to get her mane wet.
She yelped at the sudden water and closed her eyes. “Y-yeah that would be nice.”
Dillan smiled softly as he began explaining to Twilight everything that went on in Griffinstone, helping her to wash the areas she couldn't reach on her own. “Wow, do we have to worry about this ‘Eon’ guy?”
"Probably…" Dillan said with a sigh as he shut off the water. "He's a time manipulator. He can travel through time and dimensions… he's also an evil version of Ben…"
“Wait…if he can travel through time, couldn’t he go back in time and…attack you when you first arrived?” Twilight asked with a worried frown.
"You don't have to worry, even if he did it would create a split timeline. This me that's talking to you would be fine." Dillan said with a smile as he gently wrapped her in a towel.
She frowned at him. “But…a you would still…die.”
Dillan nodded a bit as he dried off. "Yeah, but that's life I suppose. Every action we take and decision we make could lead to that…"
“That is…scary.” Twilight said as she watched his expression.
He stared at the floor for a moment before he went into the bedroom to get some clothes. "Yeah it is… but… it surprisingly doesn't scare me…"
Twilight frowned and walked up to him and hugged his back. “We love you, you know that right?”
"I know you do Twi." Dillan said, turning around and kissing her gently on the lips. "And I think that's why it doesn't scare me… because you all give me hope for a better future."
Twilight smiled a bit and flapped her wings gently. “What are you gonna do now?”
Dillan looked at the bad he brought with him from the human world and smiled a bit, reaching in and pulling out a small green box. "I think I'm gonna start wearing this again… to remember the hope I have for a better life." He said, pulling out and putting on his finger a small all blue ring with a symbol on it of a circle with two lines on the top and bottom of it with two parts protruding from the top line down the the bottom right and left edges of the ring.
Twilight looked at it before tilting her head. “What is it? I mean it is a ring but I have never seen one like this before.”
"It's from a fictional story back home. It's a part of a series where rings like these channel and are able to use emotions to do all kinds of things. This is a blue lantern ring, it represents hope." Dillan said with a small smile.
Twilight smiled and nodded her head. “That sounds wonderful.”
"You can find out about the rest of the lantern rings once Film Reel makes the movies about them." Dillan said with a soft chuckle as he got up. "Come on, it's time for dinner."
“Film Reel? I think I heard that name before.” Twilight said as she followed Dillan.
"Apparently she makes really good movies or something. We met her in the train and I told her about the lanterns and stuff. She's gonna give me fifty five percent of the profits from them." Dillan said with a smile.
“Wow, if you keep bringing new industries and ideas to Equestria you're going to be the richest person in the country and probably have even more money than the princesses.” Twilight said as they entered the dining room.
Dillan laughed a bit while cutting the garlic bread. "With the amount of kids I'm gonna be having with you all I'll need it."
The mares blushed lightly. “I guess that is true, but you will also have four princesses to help out financially.” Twilight said as she sniffed the food.
"Well yeah, but as a matter of pride I'd like to try and do it myself." He said with a smile as he gave them each a plate of spaghetti with garlic bread. "Scootaloo foods ready!"
"Coming!" The filly yelled, running in with four sheets of paper and a pencil.
Twilight and Rainbow rolled their eyes. “Dillan, we are a family, you don’t have to do everything yourself, we work together.”
"I know, I'd just like to try and provide for my family, you know?" He said with a smile as he gave Scootaloo her plate.
“I guess so.” Rainbow said and looked at her food. “Thanks for lunch.”
"Of course, anything for you girls." Dillan said with a smile as he ate his food, watching his mates and Scootaloo with his smile growing his ring glowing blue for a moment before fading away.
