Stepping up on to the raised platform Sargent James stood at ease with in his 800 lb mark IV Cerberus pattern power armour, his Hades pattern laser assault rifle and along with all his other kit. A feeling of unease overcame James something didn't feel right, but he put it down to being the first human guinea pig for the experimental worm hole technology. Retreating back behind the armoured glass with the rest of his team Dr Connors started powering everything up. The hum of power was starting to reach an unbearable level, all that power released at once the last things James saw was the panicked faces of the science team and a brief flash of rainbow coloured light then everything when black. As James became conscious once again he was lying on his back and only saw the inky blackness of the abyss, vision slowly returning to him James saw that he was in a small room that looked like it had been craved from solid rock. On a second glance the room was filled with janitorial equipment. With a slight groan James stood upright and headed out the door, upon walking through the door James almost walked in to a large dog standing on its hind legs wearing a sleeveless jacket and defiantly female, seeing as soon as it saw James's armoured form it ran off screaming. "The fuck was that?" James asked aloud. "I'm starting to think that I'm not on earth" Sighing to himself James headed off in the opposite redirection, a few minutes of walking James started to hear the sounds of work up ahead. Picking up speed James entered a massive cavern filled with those large bipedal dogs holding weapons, the dogs were watching small ponies in chains mining what seemed to be pre-cut gems. "The fuck is happening. Either I'm going crazy or I'm in another dimension" James said. *whip crack* "You slave get to work" Growled one of the dogs looking at James. "I'm no one's slave mutt" Growled James right back. As James spoke all eyes fell onto James, all the ponies grasped and tried to make themselves smaller, all the dogs started to growl and levelling their weapons at him. As one the dogs started to howl the noise spreading to every corner of the mines, aiming his rifle at the lead dog James opened fire. *PHAT* The dog falls to the ground with a hole burned through it's head, at that moment the cavern decanted into chaos all the dogs charged James. Spears and swords either shattering or bouncing off his power armour, striking out with an armoured fist James crushed a dogs snout spending teeth and blood everywhere. Yet the dogs still tried to kill the armoured behemoth within there misted. Slowly but surely James kill the dogs, as the last dog fell missing its arms James turned to the ponies covered in blood. "Um shouldn't we get out of here before more Diamond Dogs show up?" asked a yellow Earth pony. A loud howling could be hear coming from the tunnel. Turning towards the sound all forty ponies shared a worried look, and started to back away from the the howling. James just rolled his eyes under his helmet and walked to the tunnel. "OI, MUTTS PLAY DEAD" roared James. This caused then ponies to try and shrink back further in to the cavern, and in turn caused the howling to grow louder. The Diamond Dogs erupted out of the tunnel all baying for James's blood, James on the other hand just grinned and opened fire. *PHAT-PHAT-PHAT-PHAT* Each shot killing a Diamond Dog, the shear carnage James was doing caused the Diamond Dogs to falter. Grabbing a frag grenade from his belt James threw into the very centre of the Diamond Dog charge. *BOOM* As the grenade when off spending blood and body parts everywhere, the Diamond dogs started to run for it. James just stood the with rifle aimed down the tunnel barrel smoking slightly for a few minutes just to make sure the Diamond Dogs where not going to come back. "Hay yeah I know what the buck humans are, they're thick as mud and are like wild animals. In fact they can't even talk" the mare said. "The names Moon Shine and I work in the Luna guard. Oh you never answered my question what are you?" Moon shine said. "Well I'm not sure if you would believe me but for what its worth I'm a human" James stated. Moon Shine started laughing so hard that she almost fell off James. "Oh come on you're pulling my wing. You a human, no human can talk nor can they fight like you do" Moon Shine said. James just stopped and slowly reached up to his helmet undoing the clasps keeping the helmet sealed, clipping the helmet to his belt in order for Moon Shine to get a good look. Meanwhile Moon Shine just started at James's face lost for words, the first thing she noticed about his face was the ugly scar going over his left eye, however instead of a milky withe eye or no eye at all Moon Shine saw a red soft glow coming from where the left should be his right eye was thankfully a light green normal eye. What Moon Shine noticed about the 'normal' eye was that it had a spark of intelligence or so to speak. "So do you want to take a picture or..." James asked. "I-I-I'm sorry its that you shouldn't be possible" Moon Shine said. "Belive it or not but your not the first person to say that to me" smiled James "Although I would like to know why your're still with me?". "Well the way your heading is the way i need to go, besides I need to tell the princess's whats happened" Moon Shine said. Upon hearing that James just shrugged and continued on his way, Moon Shine no longer resting on his shoulders. A few hours later James and Moon Shine had stopped for the night, they had both gotten to work setting up camp gathering fire wood and the like. Once everything was set up James got out of his power armour and sat down by the fire to cook a MRE meal. Moon Shine how ever was just watching the strange human go about his business, as the MRE was cooking James set about cleaning his rifle. "So what do you do in the Luna Guard?" James asked. "nothing special just recon honestly. Oh and I'm a corporal" Moon Shine said "what about you I'm guessing your in the army?" "Well your right I'm a Sergeant in the 501st heavy infantry, or the Hell-hounds as we are sometimes know as." James said. Looking round to Moon shine James saw that she was fast asleep, finishing up cleaning his gear and dinner James thought it would be a good idea to join her in sleep. Waking up James saw that he was no longer by the camp but in a classroom, looking around the only other person James saw was a odd creature made up of other things was trying to speak to him, but the words where just not reaching James's ears. Seemingly giving up the creature just snapped its fingers. Waking up with a start James was thankful to see it was daylight. Leaning back against the power armour James started to doze back off but something in his gut told him something was wrong, rising to a coach James turned his back to the fire and started to look into the tree line. *CRACK* Both James's and Moon Shine's heads snapped to the sound just in time to see a large and very naked human charge them. At the first humans action more human followed him out of the tree line all hollering at the top of their lungs, both human and pony reacted as fast if not faster. Moon Shine leaping into the air to attack from above, James reached for his rifle and opened fire. *PHAT-PHAT* The first shot taking the first human in the knee completely destroying it causing said human to fall to the ground, the second shot smashing into the forehead of the same human sending blood and brain matter everywhere. Moon Shine was putting her training to use, dive bombing another and landing heavily on one's shoulders breaking its back, as she took to the air again she heard another noise. *FWOOM* Suddenly trapped by netting Moon Shine hit the ground hard enough to dislocate her wing, screamed out in pain. Some humans started to drag her towards the tree line where she could just make out the silhouettes of around eight ponies. Her eyes when wide and her heart when cold they had been found by a human hunter party. Seeing his new friend being dragged away James opened fire on the three humans dragging Moon Shine away. *PHAT-PHAT-PHAT* See the other humans shrink back into the tree line James jogged over to the downed Moon Shine, James drew his knife and started to cut away at the netting covering her. Something impacts his shoulder looking down James sees what hit him a small dart. Wriggling free from the remains of the netting Moon Shine looks over to James only to see him kneeling down blinking rapidly, the she sees the dart at his feet. "Holy Celestia you've been hit with a knock out dart" Moon shine said. "I know" James calmly replies "I'm just waiting for my cybernetics to kick in and purge the shit from me." "Cyber what??" Moon Shine asked. The only answer she got was James falling onto his side. "Fucking finally the bloody human is out" a gruff voice said "And look at this lads looks like we got us a bonus" "Yeah with a beast like 'im' mister Dark Flare will be pleased to ave something to throw into the fighting pits" another voice says. Turning round Moon Shine sees those talking, the one that stands out the most was the large griffin being flanked by seven ponies all looking at her with lecherous grins on there faces. moon Shine started to back away slowly but tripped over James. The griffon advances on her, Moon Shine moves back further, the griffon starts coughing up blood. Everyone looks to James knife in hand, knife in griffon. "You best leave her alone, your not done with me yet" James whispered to the griffon. "T-t-the buck are you?" stuttered one of the ponies "You should have been out cold for a few hours a least" Turning around to face the panicked hunters James gave them a manic grin while taking a few steps towards them, causing all the ponies to run for it. Suddenly being tackled from behind by Moon Shine the both fell to the ground, with Moon Shine on top hugging and nuzzling James. "Don't you dare scare me like that again" Moon Shine nearly shouts "Just because we've know each other for a few days, does not mean I'll let anything bad happen to you" James said returning the hug. "But how you get back up so fast after being hit with a dark?" asked Moon Shine. "I already said my cybernetics, you honestly think that my government would give me some fancy armour and weapons with out giving me some upgrades in order to use them?" James said smiling. "What upgrades do you have?" Moon Shine asked. "Well the most important one is in my brain so I can interface with my armour, theirs another next to my heart that acts as a secondary heart and fights toxins in my blood among others" James said. "You really aren't fully human are you" Moon Shine said. "I'm still human where it counts" smiled James. "We better head off just encase those idiots come back".
