Tower of Apples
She is Quite Truthfull
Load Full StoryNext ChapterRainbow Dash brimming with her usual over confident sneer was just about to see if her speed could cut a tree in two. She was flying in from above and was ready to make contact. Of course being herself she had no doubt this was going to work. She leveled her self out and was heading straight for the tree.
She was about ten feet away when a bird suddenly smacked into her right wing making her lose balance. She spun out of control, losing balance, and at this speed it was impossible to regain it. Everything became a quick blur as she spun closer and closer to the ground.
She saw a farmhouse and tried to slide across the top of it but misjudged her trajectory and instead went sailing through the farmhouse right side window. She bounced off of something springy and went sliding into a far wall. Her wings slamming into the wall in a painful jarring motion.
She laid there with her vision blurry and breathed heavily. Everything stung from her, well everything. She took time to get onto her hooves and suppressed the feeling to yell out when a stabbing sensation shot through her right wing. With a defeated whimper she decided to lay her side against the wall, there was no way she was going anywhere in this condition.
Her vision starting to clear now she decided to take a look around the room. She looked to the left of the room and saw a pile of books on the floor and a knocked down antique dresser with apple décor down the sides. She really had made a mess of the place in her pitiful landing.
She cursed herself and looked at the window she had come barreling through. It was above an apple decorated bed which she guessed was the springy object she bounced off of. She started to wonder who's whose this was when she noticed a picture of the apple family laying on the floor along with the pile of books.
She was in Apple Jacks room! luckily enough for her the Apple family was on a trip except Apple Jack who was getting her favorite hat stitched at Rarity's Carousel Boutique. She looked back and took note of all the glass shards and wood splinters strewn about.
"Damn," she cursed herself.
This was a real fuckup, she couldn't move without pain and had totally wrecked her best friends place. She wished for a second that she was a unicorn so she could magic the mess away or something like that. Though she knew she had to pick the mess up, Apple Jack would be home soon.
With shaky legs she stood, and began walking over to the books to get them tidied up. She realized that if she stood on her hooves leaning to the right, her wing hurt less. She put all the books back in a stack and tried lifting the dresser back up against the wall.
The pain came back right as she made her final push but more of a soft burn rather than a stabbing sensation. Maybe natural healing is more effective, she thought. She rounded up all the window debris and piled it up next to the corner of the bedroom door.
She walked back over to the bed and made it whilst continuingly looking back out the window to see if Apple Jack was on her way back. She put the final pillows back on the bed and turned to look at her handiwork. All that remained to do was put the pile of books back on the dresser, if you could excuse the big five foot hole in the wall.
She picked up all the books off the ground and put them back on the dresser, the pain in her wing she noticed, no longer present. As she was turning around the book on top of the stack caught her attention. She took a closer look and saw that it read; "My diary of secrets."
She without her knowing gained a confused look on her face. Apple Jack with secrets, she was a truthful pony was she not? She suddenly and quite expectedly got the strong urge to read it. She resisted and instead thought of how she would explain the hole in the room to Apple Jack.
She couldn't stop herself though from periodically looking back at the diary's dark, brown cover. It wouldn't hurt any pony to read just a little right? She brushed her hoof along the cover slowly, feeling the leather and polish it gave.
"Fuck it," she said accidentally out loud while opening the diary.
She stopped herself and took a nervous glance around the room and out the window before returning back to the diary. She skimmed through the diary's pages since most of them seemed like regular boring drabbles until a certain pages words caught her eye.
It read "So I have a crush on a pony and never really noticed it until that pony tripped and landed on me."
A crush! Apple Jack has a crush!
Flashback
Rainbow was on her way back form a spa day and decided to enjoy a walk rather than a flight. She was looking to the sky and didn't notice Apple Jack in front of her. At this very precise and exact moment she tripped over a rock and fell onto Apple Jack, causing her to fall onto her back. They stayed like that, muzzles touching, faces heated for about a minute before Rarity obnoxiously cleared her throat and caught their attention.
Flashback End
Rainbow Dash smiled to herself as she came out of her memorial moment. She began to feel differently about Apple Jack, saw her as more than just a friend. She looked back down at the diary to see more of there encounters had been written in Apple's hand.
This was going to get interesting she thought to herself as she laid down on Apple's bed and became completely engrossed in the reading. She completely forgot about Apple Jack coming home soon.
