Twilight was laying outside of her castle as she thought about something. She had been out there for a while as the temperature was perfect for her, while she continued to think outside somepony walked up to her, she opened her eyes and looked to the side to see that Rarity was standing by her.
"Twilight is this where you've been all day?" Rarity asked her since she was shocked that Twilight was staying still, Twilight nodded and went back to looking at the sky again, Rarity looked at her in silence and then sat down beside her, Twilight watched her sit down and looked at the sky.
"Why have you been here all day anyway? Did you need someplace quiet to think about stuff at?" Rarity asked her, Twilight nodded as she continued to look at the clouds. Rarity thought it was strange for Twilight to be using her time to be sitting outside and not using it for something productive as Twilight always used her time for something productive
"Well I guess that makes sense since Spike sometimes bothers you when your doing something important, what exactly are you thinking about? You don't have to tell me I'm just a bit curious that's all." Rarity asked her friend.
"Does it ever feel awkward to you when your trying to have a conversation with Fluttershy? She's mostly quiet so that makes conversations embarrassing and its awkward for me to try and talk about topics because I didn't know what Fluttershy wants to talk about. Does it also feel awkward when she's around you as well because that's what I've feel. That's what I've been thinking about." Twilight said.
Rarity thought about how she felt when she talked to Fluttershy and knew that Twilight had a point about their friend, it was pretty awkward but she never admitted that out load to her other friends.
"Yes it does feel awkward when I'm talking to her, I never know what to talk about and I feel nervous when she responds quietly to me and it makes me nervous because I don't know what she wants to talk about, she's not that social when around ponies." Rarity admitted. Twilight nodded as she knew that she was right. Rarity wanted to know about why Twilight was thinking about this subject.
"Why have you been thinking about this? There are more important things you need to focus on, if it's awkward for you to talk to her then mention it to her in a nice manner and she can fix the problem by speaking in a normal voice instead of being quiet all the time." Rarity said, Twilight knew that Rarity was giving her a good idea.
"That is a good idea, I didn't even think about that, I didn't know what to do so that's why I came to you, even if I do solve some problems on my own I still need help from time to time." Twilight told her.
"That's fine I understand, come tell me what happened after you talk to her." Rarity said, Twilight nodded as she left Rarity to go see Fluttershy, Rarity went inside her place. Twilight hoped that Fluttershy wouldn't get offended after she told her what her problem was.
Twilight walked to Fluttershy's cottage as she tried to figure out how to bring up the issue that she has when talking to Fluttershy, she hoped that Fluttershy would make her feel more comfortable when they talked to eachother as she didn't like how it was so awkward.
She got to Fluttershy's cottage and she went to knock until Fluttershy opened the door and saw Twilight, Fluttershy immediately let her in as Twilight was her friend and she would always let her friends in no matter which friend it was.
Twilight sat down and Fluttershy sat by her, Twilight looked around Fluttershy's cottage until Fluttershy's question made her focus on why she was here.
"So...what can I do for you Twilight? You seem shyer than me and that's saying something. Is there someone wrong?" Fluttershy asked. Twilight began to speak as she tried to word what she wanted to say properly.
"I...uh came to talk to you about a problem I have...." Twilight said while she hesitated to tell Fluttershy the rest. Fluttershy tried to convince Twilight to tell her the rest.
"It's okay Twilight....just tell me....I'm listening...." Fluttershy stated as she hesitated as well. Twilight noticed that they were both a bit shy which was a strange coincidence.
"The reason why I came to see you today is because whenever you and me have a conversation it feels awkward because your so quiet and shy, it causes problems when I try to communicate with you. I'm not trying to criticize you but I wish that you would make me feel less embarrassed when I'm trying to have a conversation with you." Twilight explained in a detailed manner.
Fluttershy knew what Twilight was saying, she blushed as Twilight explained her problem to her, she felt embarrassed. She tried to think of a response as she wondered what she could do to fix the problem.
"I'm sorry Twilight, I have the same problem with the rest of my friends as well, I don't know why I'm so shy, I just have social problems and behavioral issues, it's just the way I am, I've gotten better a bit thoughout the years we've been together but I know that I still have problems. From now on I'll try and make it less awkward by responding a bit more to what you say whenever we have conversations." Fluttershy said which made Twilight smile.
"Thanks Fluttershy, I appreciate you taking the time to hear my problem." Twilight told her best friend, Fluttershy smiled and they both hugged, Twilight felt better now since she told her friend about her problem, she was worried of hurting Fluttershy's feelings but she was grateful that that didn't happen.
They both talked about other subjects for an hour as they hung out together and then after that Twilight went home, over the next few weeks Fluttershy spoke more often when she and Twilight had conversations, it felt uncomfortable at first but soon she got the hang of it, Twilight stopped feeling awkward and their conversations got better. Twilight was glad for bringing her problem up to Fluttershy and she was glad that Fluttershy understood the problem and fixed the problem.
