Princess Twilight Sparkle ceases the flow of time, at least from her perspective.
Twilight Sparkle had finally done it. After scouring through all of the books she had on time magic, she had finally created a spell that would stop time.
At least, it stopped the user's perception of time. The way the spell worked was to speed the user's body and mind up to around the speed of light, which would slow the passage of time to a near halt, from their perspective. The drawback being that, to continue the performance of this spell, one needed a high natural magic potential, and an almost godly amount of concentration to be able to do anything but be casting the spell. Both of which Twilight knew that she had, even before she became an alicorn.
She took one more look at her scribbled notes and called for Spike, making sure to hide her plans for what she would do once the magic took hold.
"Hey, Twilight, how can I help."
"I'd like you to take one of those gems," she gestured toward a few precious stones on a table, "and throw it up into the air and try to catch it in your mouth the moment I start to use my magic. Okay?"
Spike eyed the gems, then looked back to Twilight. She was smiling in a somewhat uneasy way, letting Spike know that something was going on. Looking back to the gems, he realized that they were, in fact, all of his favourites. especially the crunchy orange ones. He walked to them and picked one up. What was the worst that could happen, anyway?
Twilight re-checked her scribbles and then pushed her magic to her horn, feeling the buzz of it waiting to be focused on a purpose. As the magic grew, she thought the incantation and then a lavender glow blasted out away from her. And as quickly as that, she was now moving at near-light speeds. The world was still and calm around her, for the first time, she was experiencing complete silence. She felt instantly calmed.
She walked to Spike; he was still, with an orange gem stuck above his mouth. She pulled her hoof up and touched it to the precious stone. It moved, slowly, away from her. She jumped in the air, cheering happily, and ran towards the doors, bursting through them to the outside world.
She saw her then. the reason for this spell. Twilight had been admiring her from afar for many years now; since the first day they met; through all the adventures they had had together; through her coronation, her want, her need, to have Rainbow Dash was unwavering. Then, as she saw the familiar backside of her precious cyan jewel, this whole secret plan and all the toil it had caused had suddenly become worth it.
Twilight Sparkle walked to her trusting friend and halted beside her; she had made hundreds upon hundreds of plans of what she would do, but now that she was there, she couldn't remember her plans or her lists, only her desires. She slowly, gently stroked her hoof down Rainbow dash's back, feeling her soft pelt move with her. She walked to the front of Rainbow dash. she closed her eyes and pressed their lips together, holding it there. He began to work Rainbow's mouth open gently with small movements from her own. She gently moved her leg to rainbow's, slowly pulling them up to her hair. As she did, she felt something odd. Rainbows mouth opened slightly as Twilight introduced her tongue, but her mouth kept opening.
Twilight opened here eyes as she pulled away. Half of Rainbow dash's face was falling slowly downwards. Twilight screamed as she looked around. Rainbow's hoof was missing from her leg, it had been removed neatly in a slice. The skin of Rainbow's back retreating from her body, tearing cleanly as it left her form. She looked up to her castle to see two crystal doors escaping the frame, and one small orange gem moving slowly through a wall. As she looked back to Rainbow, she made two horrible observations. The first is that she had killed her love interest by pulling her apart at the speed of light, the second is that she had pulled Rainbow's hoof off of her, and into her own hair.
Twilight sat in her cell. she had admitted to everything, usage of restricted magic without permission, involuntary pony-slaughter, and mass destruction of public property; a full guilty plea. That would make the legal stuff much easier on everyone.
Twilight sat and thought. How could she not have seen that coming? Obviously one couldn't just move at near light speeds and expect to be able to touch things. She didn't do enough tests, just because she wanted to be close to Rainbow Dash, but now she was lost forever. All due to over-eagerness.
This would haunt her forever, unless she did something about it. She would need to make amends, but how could she from within the unbreakable walls of prison, with no magic to help herself. She decided, right then and there, to spend the rest of her life dedicated to preventing anyone from using forbidden magic, making sure that everyone knows the horrors of not thinking your actions through, and experimenting with forces beyond your knowledge.
Three days later, Twilight was shanked in the cafeteria for not moving out of the way of the princess of the prison, Head Honcho. As Twilight lay, hearing a commotion as Honcho was taken away and emergency medical staff was called to help her, with a sharpened piece of a gem stuck in the end of a toothbrush, secured with a piece of fabric, stuck in her side, blood flowing out of the deep wound, she thought. She thought of her lost love, her lost opportunities, her dreams that would never come to be. Then she thought, most of all, that, she would soon meet her love once more.
Twilight smiled as she passed onto the next plane.
