The next day, when Silver Spoon came to school, she was skipping and smiling and humming all the way, Diamond by her side doing much the same thing.
They both made it to class without even having to open their eyes.
Ms. Cheerilee spoke up when they trotted into the room. "And what may I ask has you two girls in such high spirits?"
The two fillies stopped their celebrating at her question, looked at each other, smiled broadly, looked back at her, and said,
"Nothing!"
With that they returned to their trotting, going up to their seats. Leaving Cheerilee to shake her head in wonder, smiling and thinking, 'Foals. How good it was to be young and innocent.'
Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo looked up at them from their seats beside the two fillies.
Apple Bloom spoke up. "What's got you two in such a good mood?"
"Yeah. Why all the smiling?" came Scootaloo's voice.
The two ponies were either ignoring them, or didn't hear them at all, because neither answered, too busy stealing glances at each other as they completed their schoolwork. They were done in a flash and turned to speak to them.
The three had never seen anypony finish their work as fast as they just did. But they had been working together on each other's papers, so it wasn't that much of a stretch, they supposed.
Diamond chose to make her voice known first, the smile never leaving her face. "I'm sorry. What was that? We didn't hear you." She broke into a fit of giggles, followed shortly by Silver Spoon.
The three fillies beside them took note of the fact that she had said 'we' instead of 'I' and at once all three of them inwardly smirked. Their plan had gone better than expected. The rest of class went along easily, with not a single disturbance save for snips, and then snails, having to use the restroom.

Apple Bloom continued her questioning. "Why? Are you two dating now or somethin'?"
The two of them blushed furiously, but began laughing all the same, albeit quietly. Sliver Spoon spoke up again.
