Discouraging Her Friend

Rarity was walking through Ponyville one day as she was enjoying the nice breeze that rushed past her as she walked, while she walked through town, she saw Twilight's castle, she was going to walk past it but when she took another look she became curious as she walked towards the castle.

She soon saw that Twilight was taking a lot of furniture out of her castle, she wondered why her friend was taking so much stuff out that she actually needed in case she was buying more cushions she walked up to Twilight to take a closer look as she couldn't believe it she stopped and stared in shock. Rarity saw her and spoke.

"Twilight....what are you doing? I thought you needed that stuff what's up with you removing all of your furniture, I was thinking that you would buy more of those and not remove them." Rarity said. Twilight debated with herself as she tried to decide if she should tell Rarity. She wondered if Rarity would make fun of her.

Seriously Twilight you need those, why are you removing so many?" Rarity asked, Twilight was about to tell Rarity but bit her lip as she wondered how her friend would react, she would have to tell her in order to find out so she stopped and told Rarity.

"I was looking through a few activities and I decided that I wanted to do something else than be an avid book reader, I'll still be the princess but I'm going to do learn this on the side so I decided to pick ballet. I'm moving all of the book cases out of the way so that I can have room to dance here. Twilight said shyly. It took a minute for Rarity to comprehend what Twilight had said and then without notice Rarity started to laugh hysterically.

Twilight frowned as Rarity's reaction hurt her feelings but she waited there as Rarity was holding her stomach from laughing so hard, Rarity tried to speak but she continued to laugh. She tried to calm herself down in order to respond and she did.

"No offense Twilight but that is the most unrealistic idiotic thing you have ever said! I can't comprehend how ridiculous that idea is, I suggest you throw away your dream and try something else as you'll never succeed as a ballet dancer!" Rarity laughed while hurting Twilight's feelings.

Twilight couldn't believe what her friend was saying, she felt upset at what her friend said, she stuttered as she tried to defend herself. Her eyes filled with tears, she quickly wiped them away and stood up to Rarity.

"No it's not unrealistic! I'm going to prove myself to you! I'm not going to be just some dumb princess to you!! I will learn ballet! I'll show you and make you regret that you even doubted me in the first place!" Twilight said with determination, she stomped off. Rarity and Twilight soon lost contact with eachother as Twilight ended her friendship with Rarity over the insults while Rarity didn't care about it as she knew that she was right.

Rarity rolled her eyes as she went off to do her own thing while Twilight went off to learn ballet, it was hard to do since Twilight didn't start until she was an adult as most ballet dancers start when they were children but Twilight got to be pretty decent, a few years passed by and Rarity went to the Canterlot Performing Arts Center, she went to see a ballet performance by the number one ballet troupe in Equestria.

As soon as she paid for her ticket and sat down in one of the seats, she waited patiently as other people sat to watch as well and then soon the show started and when the curtain open Rarity was suddenly shocked as she saw Twilight performing with them.

Rarity couldn't believe that Twilight accomplished her dream, she didn't know what to feel at that moment as she was to shocked to comprehend what was happening, Twilight was the most graceful dancer aside from all of the others.

Rarity couldn't stop watching Twilight, she stayed there trying to comprehend what was even happening, she tried to deny it as she thought it was a dream but it wasn't a dream, she stayed there and watched them do at least four performances and when it was over with hours later Rarity didn't know if she should apologize to Twilight or congratulate her.

Rarity just sat there and comprehended on what to do, she got angry as she couldn't believe Twilight rubbed it in her face that she was wrong, Rarity waited till people dispersed out into the lobby to talk about the performance and then Rarity approached Twilight but stopped.

She wondered if she should congratulate to her friend as she was pretty regretful about what she said to her friend. Twilight saw her and got angry and she spoke.

"Well look who decided to come crawling back to me. You mocked me when I decided to do ballet as you thought I would suck. What in Tartarus is your problem Rarity!? Aren't you happy for me?! If you start to act like how you did years ago then maybe you were never supportive of me! All of my friends think that I did amazing! Applejack skipped work just to see my performance! Rainbow Dash cancelled her performance with the Wonderbolts just to see me! Even Granny Smith who's been sick for a few years now got out of her hospital bed to see me! You are a very cruel person Rarity and if you don't apologize then this friendship is over! I put blood sweat and tears into my training as a ballerina and you throw it into my face in cruel hearted manner. Go away Rarity, if you don't realize that you are guilty of trying to discourage me then we won't be friends any more!" Twilight said in anger.

Rarity was completely speechless as Twilight laid out the embarrassing truth of how cruel she had been to Twilight, she realized that Twilight was right about her, she felt guilty of saying that stuff to her friend. She wanted to apologize but she didn't know if it was to late.

"Twilight....I'm sorry.....I have known how stupid I had acted that day and I did want to apologize, you told me what hobby you were taking up and expected me to be happy but yet I mocked you which was completely wrong, I shouldn't have done that, you went to me looking for encouragement but instead you got insults thrown at you. I have been a terrible friend and I hope you can forgive me, I thought you were great tonight! I'm happy for you Twilight I hope you can believe me! I'll even go to more of your performances Please believe me!" Rarity begged.

Twilight thought about it as she could read the sincerity in Rarity's expression and voice, she knew that she was sorry but she wished that Rarity could have been more supportive when she first told her.

"I forgive you Rarity, we can be friends again, I respect you for realizing how mean and hurtful you have been but I forgive that, I just want you to promise at your telling the truth about how you now feel about me." Twilight said, Rarity wiped tears from her eyes as she cried at how mean she had been.

"I am being very sincere! Your a very elegant dancer and I'll support you by going to your performances and talk to you about dancing even, I'm sorry it took me a long time to be happy for you as it wasn't right of me to try and crush your dreams I'll never do that again, I'm very happy for you Twilight! I'm glad that you didn't give up your dreams." Rarity said.

"Thanks Rarity!" Twilight said as she hugged Rarity, they were both glad that their friendship was restored, they told their friends and their friends forgave Rarity as well, Rarity and Twilight went to someplace quiet and talked about what they had been doing the past few years. Twilight told her all about her improvement in dancing and Rarity felt so happy for her. Rarity told Twilight how happy she was for her and she promised Twilight to go to her other performances as well.

Soon they both went home as they we're both glad that their friendship had been restored. Over the next few years Rarity kept going to places where Twilight performed at and felt happy for Twilight each time she saw her perform as she made up each moment they had lost together when they drifted apart. Things were right between them once again. Rarity started to hang out with Twilight and her friends again.
