Chapter 1

"Blazing Soul!" Glow Chaser yelled as a ball of fire was moving closer to her friend. Blazing Soul had heard her just in time for the flame to singe the fur on her stomach. Blazing Soul looked up to see a golden-coloured scaled dragon to land in front of her. His eyes were endless pools of blood red. His scales were dulled and scared.

"Well. Don't you look exactly like your father." his deep voice chuckled. Soul stepped back. Her eyes began to fill with anger as dark grey clouds of smoke began to seep out of her nostrils.

"You're...You're Golden Arrow, aren't you? You're the one who stole my father's kingdom. You're the one who is supposed to be his brother. YOU'RE THE ONE WHO KILLED HIM!" she yelled as she clawed his face. She retracted her claw. Drops of blood dripped onto the floor from the tips of her fingers. Golden Arrow opened his eyes. His left one had gone grey. He gave a small laugh.

"Well done. You made me blind in my left eye. You did more to me than your father ever could." Arrow pounced at Blazing Soul.

"NOOOOOOO!!!" Glow Chaser, Shadow Blitz and Blue Quill yelled.

~3 months earlier~

"Mom?" Blazing Soul said as she walked into her house. She dropped her bag and her eyes shrunk. The house had been trashed. Furniture had been flipped and destroyed. Shelves had been ripped off the wall. Blood was all over the walls and up the stairs. She followed the trail of blood up the stairs and into her mother's room. She opened the door and froze.

There she was. Her mother was there. On the floor. Barely any of her coat on her body. Her wings looked deformed and snapped. Soul ran over to her mother's body and kneeled next to the corpse.

Next to her head was a family photo. It was her whole family before they were all separated. There was her mother, father, her 2 brothers and herself. Tears started to stream down her face. She doesn't even remember her brothers' names. She doesn't even remember what happened on that fateful day. She looked at her mother's lifeless body and saw a glimpse of something under her mother's right hoof.

It was a piece of paper. She lifted the hoof and picked up the piece of paper. She unraveled it and it had writing on it.

To my daughter, Blazing Soul,
You are probably confused, upset and angry. I would be too. These are my last wishes and words. Your uncle, Golden Arrow,
sent a small squad here. He was looking for you. They told me if I didn't tell them where you were, they would kill me. I would rather be dead than let your uncle get a hold of you. What upset me the most was that your brothers were in that squad. He knew that it would kill me mentally, knowing that they were going to kill me before they could actually do it. My final wishes for you to do for is to go to the dragon lands and find Golden Arrow and claim your father's kingdom back. I know it seems a lot but you need to get it back before he can do any worse to Equestria.
I know you can do it. I believe in you. I love you so much.

Blazing Soul's tears were streaming down her face like waterfalls. She clenched her hooves around the note. She put her head on her mother's stomach.

"Why?" Soul whispered. "Why?" She said a bit louder. "WHY?!" She screamed at the top of her lungs. She continued to cry until she fell asleep.

"Blazing Soul! Wake up!" Soul heard her mare-friend, Glow Chaser, yell as she shoved her shoulder. She looked up at her with her red, puffy eyes to see Glow's face filled with worry. Glow dropped next to Blazing Soul and nuzzled her.

"What happened?!" Glow said as she attempted to get eye contact with the dragon hybrid. Soul replied with keeping her head down.

"My Uncle..." she started. "He... sent out a squad... to come find me... my mother refused to tell them where I was... the consequence was death." she said with tears building back up in her eyes. Soul put her head into the crook of Glow's neck.
Glow wrapped her hooves around her, feeling how much Soul was actually shaking. Soul lifted her head and wiped her eyes.

"Her last wishes is for me to go claim back my father's kingdom in the dragon lands." Soul said looking at Glow.

"Well you're not going alone." a male voice said. Glow and Soul looked to their left to see Shadow Blitz with Blue Quill beside him.

"The amount of times we know you're going to say no. We are not going to listen. What friends would we be if we let you travel to the dragon lands alone?" Blue Quill explained. Shadow and Blue stepped into the room and sat down next to Glow and Soul.

"Soul. We promise you that you will[i/] get your father's kingdom back." Shadow said. Glow and Blue confirmed it by nodding their heads.

"Thank you guys so much. I don't think I could have any better friends." Souls said as she pulled everyone in for a group hug.

"Anything for you, Soul." Glow said as she pecked her on the cheek. "You can live with me until we are ready to set off for the dragon lands."

"First we need to do some research about the dragon lands and how to get there." Shadow explained.

"And what dangers that we may encounter on the way there." Blue added.

"So we can all stay safe." Glow said.

"And alive." Soul finished. "I promise you mom, if you can hear me, I will win back dad's kingdom. Even if it is the last thing I do. Golden Arrow, prepare for your last months as king." She said with burning passion in her eyes.
