//-------------------------------------------------------// FlutterDash Chronicles -by bright foal- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Wedding jitters //-------------------------------------------------------// Wedding jitters Rarity hummed to herself as she continued to help the bride to be get ready. Light twinkled through the open curtains of one of Twilight’s spare castle rooms. Rainbow Dash was draped in a long white flowing gown. A garment which she only agreed to wear at Fluttershy’s insistence. Rarity herself was draped in her latest dress, a light purple flowing dress with a purple rimmed hat. She picked up a come and placed it in Rainbow’s tangled mane. “Ahh!” Rainbow Dash moaned as Rarity pulled the come through her mane. “Really, darling you need to take care of your hair.” Rarity brushed out Rainbow’s tangled mane. “I wish you would have been more careful, especially on your wedding day.” Rainbow fidgeted. The white flowing dress wrapped tightly around her body. She glanced nervously at the clock. Rarity stopped brushing Rainbow’s hair. “Rainbow, is something the matter? You seem awfully tense darling.” “Everything’s fine, I just don’t like being pampered like this; this wedding dress is too tight on my wings!” “I made this dress specifically for you, Rainbow Dash; there is no way it could fit you tightly. So would you please stop bluffing darling, and tell me what’s wrong?” “Fine,” Rainbow grumbled. “I’m nervous! I wasn’t even this nervous on my first day as a Wonderbolt! I feel like my belly’s made out of jelly! And I think I might pee myself during the ceremony! Happy now?” “But, darling it’s your wedding day. You are going to marry the mare of your dream! You should be happy, not a nervous reck.” Rarity bit her lip. “Are you having second thoughts about Fluttershy?” “No way!” Rainbow snorted. “I love that mare, like nothing else. I’m super happy to be her wife. I’m just nervous and I don’t know why!” Rarity continued to brush Rainbow’s hair. “Hmm. How long have you two known each other anyway?” “Since Junior Flight Camp.” Rainbow chuckled. “I can remember it like it was yesterday…” Rainbow Dash waved to her parents as they headed back home. A smile beaming from her face she heads to her first lesson. Several other fillies and colts fly past her. Some followed by their teachers. Rainbow flapped her tiny wings excitedly. Some distance away she hears laughter, and moves towards it. A brown colt was taunting a slender yellow filly with a pink mane. Big wet tears rolled down her face, which she covered with her hooves. “Hey! Get away from her!” Rainbow Dash yelled, flying over and placing herself in front of the filly. The colt grins. “Why should I? Are you her mommy? Cause I think this foal needs her nap time!” Rainbow clapped her hooves together. “I ain’t her mommy! But I’ll beat you so hard you’ll go crying towards yours!” The yellow filly continued to cry behind Rainbow Dash. “Oh yeah? Wait till I get my friends. We’ll see who’s a cry baby then!” The brown colt flew away. Rainbow Dash turned back to the crying filly. She nuzzled her neck and helped her to stand. “Hey, I’m Rainbow Dash. What’s your name?” The filly mumbled, she didn’t make eye contact, her mane obscuring her eyes. “Sorry, I didn’t hear you. What was that?” The filly mumbled again. “Well, it’s not important. I think I’m gonna stick with you for awhile. At least until I know that jerk won’t tease you anymore.” The filly whispered, “Thank you.” “Hey, I heard that! You’re welcome. I guess we should go to class then.” The filly nodded. “My name is Fluttershy.” “That long?” Rarity finished coming Rainbow’s tangled mane. Rainbow sighed. “Yeah. Not long after that I met Gilda. But Fluttershy was my first friend at flight camp. Actually my first real friend to be honest.” “How do you mean?” Rarity asked. “Well, even before flight camp my parents always entered me in these flying competitions. And their enthusiasm turned a lot of ponies off from talking to me. Fluttershy was the first pony I could just be myself around, and she even liked my parents.” Rarity giggled. “I assume they will have an entire section devoted to you and Fluttershy in their house now?” “They already declared me best wife in the world.” Rainbow face hoofed. Rarity patted Rainbow’s shoulder. “Yes, darling but they are proud of you.” “Huh, yeah I know.” Somebody knocked on the door. Rarity cleared her throat. “Who is it?” “It’s Spike! Fluttershy wants help with her dress, and Twilight’s worried we won’t make it to the courthouse before twelve!” Rarity looked at the clock. “Oh, nonsense darling. Spike, be a dear and finish helping Rainbow Dash. I will go see to Fluttershy.” Rainbow bit her lip. “Maybe I could come to?” Rarity dismissed this with her hoof. “Nonsense, it is bad luck to see thee bride before the ceremony.” “But we’re both the bride!” “Exactly, darling. It is twice the bad luck.” Rarity closed the door behind her. Spike pulled up a stool in front of Rainbow Dash and helped her tie her mane into a braid. “Alright, I think we’re done. I’ll go tell Rarity and Twilight.” Spike went for the door. “Spike! Wait, a minute you?” Rainbow asked. The purple dragon face her. “I just, I feel to nervous to go through with the wedding!” Spike hurried back to the blue mare, and hugged her. “Rainbow Dash, it’ll be okay. It’s okay to be nervous on your wedding day. But you still love Fluttershy right?” “Well of course I do!” “Then there’s nothing to worry about.” Spike took Rainbow’s hoof. “Now, come on it’s time to leave.” “Hold on, let me grab something.” Rainbow took out a bottle of wine from beneath a pile of fabric. “Where’d that come from?!” Spike asked. “Heheh, I might have hid a few of these around Twilight’s castle a few years back. I don’t remember why, I think it was Pinkie’s idea. But hey, figured I could use this if my nerves get the better of me.” Spike rubbed the back of his neck. “Rainbow, I don’t think that’s such a good idea.” “Ehh, maybe. But I’ll only use it as an emergency.” “Huh, well okay. Come on we have to go.” Spike led the blue furred bride out of the room and to Twilight. Twilight was wearing one of her old dress, specifically it wasn’t a dress but rather a wizard's robe with stars on it. “Rainbow Dash! You look lovely!” Rainbow Dash blushed. “Thanks, Twilight. So are we gonna go or what?” Twilight lit up her horn, and an energy beam engulfed her, Spike, and Rainbow Dash. They all appeared in a back room at the courthouse. Rainbow shook her head. “What the heck was that?!” Twilight blushed. “Sorry, Rainbow Dash. But I didn’t want to be late. And it’s best that Rarity take Fluttershy over here herself. We don’t want you to see the bride before the ceremony.” “But we’re both the bride!” “Exactly, it means twice the bad luck.” Rainbow face hoofed. “Twilight, of all the ponies why would you believe in superstitions?” “I don’t believe them, it’s just tradition, and as long it doesn't hurt anypony I don’t mind following it.” Spike patted Rainbow’s shoulder. “Don’t worry, Fluttershy will be here soon.” Rainbow sat down. “Yeah. I just hope my nerves don’t get me first.” She took a swig from the wine bottle. Twilight scrunched up her face at this. She took Spike to the side. “Spike, how could you let her bring alcohol?” “It wasn’t my fault, and I was in a hurry. It’ll be fine. I’m sure she’ll stop before she gets to drunk.” “Too drunk?! Spike, even a little bit drunk Rainbow Dash is a whole helping of insanity that we don’t need to deal with.” Spike shrugged. “Well, it’s too late now.” Twilight sighed. “I suppose it is. The ceremony will start in an hour, ponies will start arriving soon. Oh and Celestia and Luna are coming!” Spike facepalmed. Here we go again… Author's Note This is a collab with bright foal. //-------------------------------------------------------// You had me at *mumbles* //-------------------------------------------------------// You had me at *mumbles* Rarity cleared her throat as she knocked on Fluttershy’s door. “May I come in darling?” “Yeah!” Starlight called. Rarity’s aura appeared around the doorknob as she walked in, closing it behind her. Fluttershy was sitting on a stool, birds and squirrels ran around her hair, pulling strands left and right. Starlight sat off to the side, a smile spread across her face. “Came too watch the show?” Starlight asked. “I actually came to help Fluttershy. But I can see she doesn’t need much help. . .” Rarity said. “Oh, they just insisted on helping, and I didn’t want to turn down their help,” Fluttershy said. “Yes, but one of the squrriels placed a stick in your mane, darling,” Rarity said. Starlight got up from her spot. “I’ll take care of it.” She lead the squirrels and birds outside of the room, closing the door on them. Rarity levitated a comb off of the vanity and combed out the tangles of Fluttershy’s hair. “Oh, yes. . .Much better! So, Fluttershy, dear, you must be super excited for your wedding!” “Oh, yes I am! I have been looking forward to this day since I met Dashie’s parents,” Fluttershy said. “When was that?” Starlight asked. “Dash did just tell me about how she met Fluttershy back when she was a filly. . .So I assume very early?” Rarity said. “Yes, actually on the same day. . .” Rainbow gave Fluttershy a hug before looking at the other filly. “And remember if those bullies come again, just call me.” Fluttershy mumbled, nodding her head. Rainbow rubbed the back of her neck. “Maybe I should just stay close to you anyways.” Boe Hothoof came running up behind his daughter. “Dashie! We came to pick you up from flight camp!” “Oh look hon she made a friend! Best friend maker ever!” Windy Whistles shouted, coming up behind her husband. Rainbow face hoofed. “Sorry about my parents. . .” Fluttershy shaking, placed her head underneath Rainbow’s right wing. “Yes, Rainbow’s parents can get a little out of hoof can’t they?” Rarity giggled. Fluttershy giggled. “Yeah, it was hard to convince them not to bring fireworks to our wedding that spell ‘best wife ever’ in rainbow color in the sky.” Starlight smacked her hoof against the ground as she laughed. “I bet Rainbow will explode if that happens!” Rarity cleared her throat. “Anyways, darling, how did your first meeting with Rainbow’s parents go?” “Well. . .” Fluttershy started. Fluttershy sat next to Rainbow inside of Rainbow’s house. Windy and Boe were making pancakes for them. “So our Dashie protected you from bullies? We always knew she was so awesome!” Windy shouted. Boe pulled out his camera and snapped a picture of Fluttershy and Rainbow. “Try radical!” Rainbow slammed her head onto the kitchen table. “Mom! Dad!” Fluttershy giggled, taking a bite of her pancakes. “We can’t help you being so amazing at everything!” Windy said. Rainbow groaned. “She was very brave saving me from the bullies. And thank you for the pancakes Ms Rainbow Dash’s mom.” Fluttershy blushed. Windy patted Fluttershy’s head. “That’s okay dear, and please use my name, Windy.” Boe grinned as he continued to snap more photographs, eliciting another groan from Rainbow. Fluttershy sighed. “They still have those pictures on their walls after all these years.” “That’s rather sweet.” Starlight smiled. “I liked that they were so vocal and supportive.” Fluttersay blushed. “Aren’t your parnets supportive?” Starlight raised an eyebrow. “They are darling, they are just… shy, Fluttershy here is actually the loud one in her family.” Rarity added. “Well if you don’t count her little brother.” “Zephyr Breeze.. and he was a bit of a slacker. . .” Fluttershy added. “A bit?” Rarity giggled. “Darling that pony couldn’t commit to cleaning his mane in the morning, I’m shocked he ever committed enough to get a cutie mark!” “That lazy ah?” Starlight asked. “He is a mane stylist now, and a very good one at it, plus he’s gonna escort me to Rainbow at the wedding, so can we please not tease my family? I am pretty sure it’s time for us to leave anyway,” Fluttershy said. “Yes it is dear.” Rarity finished combing Fluttershy’s hair. Rarity did some final touches to Fluttershy's dress. All three mares exited the castle on their way to the court house.
