Party Planning
It was a normal day in Ponyville. The golden sun glowed against the cloudless blue sky. Ponies entered Sugar Cube Corner, and left with boxes of cakes, pastries, and other baked goods. The Cakes had orders from Baltimare, Fillydelphia, Los Pegasus, even the Crystal Empire. Mr and Mrs Cake had trouble not only with the order, but as well as with the twins. Even with Pinkie's help they were still overwhelmed.
Pinkie Pie was busy preparing the batter of a birthday cake. She had already made other various desserts: a lemon meringue pie, a baker's dozen of sugar cookies, carrot cake, pumpkin gingerbread, seven batches of fudge brownies, and a five platters of various cupcakes. As she set the batter into the oven, a rainbow-maned cyan pegasus entered the kitchen.
"Hey Pinkie," said the pegasus, "What are you doing? Who's birthday is it?"
"Hi Dashie. I've just been preparing a party for somepony," Pinkie replied.
"Oh really? Who?" asked Rainbow Dash.
"Well. I actually don't know his name. However, I know he'll love it. Everypony loves my parties," Pinkie said gleefully. Pinkie Pie held parties for everypony she encountered. She made friends as fast as Rainbow Dash cleared the sky. Surely this pony would want to be her friend.
"If you don't know his name, then how do you plan on throwing him a party? Do you even know where he lives?"
"I do know where he lives. He lives just outside of Canterlot. I bumped into him while I was delivering cupcakes to another client. After introducing myself, he walked away without saying a word. Right then and there I knew a party would make him my friend," Pinkie stated, positively.
"Right, so when is this party? You're obviously making a birthday cake, and that implies you know when his birthday is."
"Actually, I don't know when his birthday is. I just know he'll tell me when we become friends," Pinkie said, undoubtedly. "Also, the party is tomorrow in the center of Ponyville at six o'clock PM."
"Whatever you say. See you there." And with a last wave good bye, Rainbow Dash walked out the door, spread her wings, and took off into the sky.
Pinkie retrieved the cake from the oven, adding icing, and returned to finishing the party planning. Writing invitations, writing Welcome Friend on a banner, and inflating balloons. She knew the pony would love the party. She knew he would become her friend. Despite not know when that would be.
