The court room was nothing special. It was rectangular in shape getting narrower to one end. The floor slowly sloped forward down to the boxes and podium at the front. The windows were stained glass like any other part of the castle. The one major difference was how many ponies were here today. The balcony hanging above the main hall that normally sat empty was stuffed to the brim with many more perched were ever they could get. In the case of the peguasi, that was almost anywhere. The room was filled to the brim. Everyone wanting to hear and see the case involving so many ponies and two princesses. Nopony was really sure what had happened except for the wild and hideous rumours flying everywhere. They all watched the front looking up and down the long row of ponies in the prosecution box and then over to the two in the defence box.
Celestia sat stiffly in her chair. She was painfully aware of well over one thousand eyes on her back. The room was silent waiting of the arrival of the judge. The thought of being in the stands and not on the podium was just wrong to her. All her life she had been the one to do things. She listened to other ponies problems and acted justly upon them. Now sitting here up front seeing it from below the only thing she wanted was to kill the two ponies in the defence booth. Never in Equestrian history has such an event ever been heard of. Celestia looked up as a pony called for the judge to enter. The large doors opened as her royal sister Princess Cadence stepped out from the back room. Celestia watched as she made her way to the centre podium with a stern face.
"Court is now in session. What are the charges?"
"Your Honour. The charges are..."
Celestia watched the pony look down at the clip board levitating before him. His eyes widened as he once overed everything before him.
"The charges are..."
The bailiff was having great difficulty reading the contents of the page before him. Throwing glances all over the room as he struggled to come out with an answer.
"That is fine. The nature of this case makes it hard to comprehend let alone read in front of so many."
Celestia watched as the bailiff retreated to the podium to pass his clip board off to Cadence. He seemed disturbed by what he read as he walked to the side. Cadence made her own attempt to read the list but also failed. Her voice seeming to leave her whenever she tried to speak.
“Well then can we get the ponies involved names? From left to right i want you to say your names back to me. Starting with you.”
The row had been long. Celestia had not seen the order in witch they sat. She was curious to who would speak first.
“My name is Derpy, and this is my daughter Dinky your Honour.”
“The name is Vinyl... Vinyl Scratch... your Honour.”

She didn't want to do this. She wished it could all just go away, or better yet not have happened. Just days ago now that those... monsters were finally caught. Even remembering what had taken place brought pain to her already stressed mind but she was the last one in her position that could do this. The pile of papers on her desk gave her the just. They were almost to much for her as it was. She was not looking forward to this day.
Princess Cadence sat alone in the Judges office that was now her part time home. Normally her sisters would have dealt with such a huge crime. Cadence knew why she was picked though. She remembered the words of the council there cold voices still fresh in her mind. It was only a few days ago her sisters had been found but since then it felt to Cadence that a lifetime had passed in preparation of this day. The day of the trial.

“I need to do it? But why me?”
“Cadence you know why it must be you. We are involved. We were there. It would be unfair.”
“Unfair! Dear sister... Celestia you can't possibly think those... monsters are innocent! Look what they did to you! Look what they did to poor Luna!”
“I know exactly what they did and I HATE them for it! The point is you weren't there! You're the only one that is still clean in this case! It has to be you!”
“Why can't we just shoot them of to the moon or something? You have done that before.”
“Sister don't argue with me! Just do this... do it for me... for Luna... the others...”
“Fine... but if these guys walk... I swear... I- I don't know what I'll do...”
“I know Cadence... I know. But for now lets just deal with it as it comes.”
“Fine... what do I need to do?”

That had been almost a week ago. It was the last time she was allowed to see her sisters before the trial. She remembered Celestia's beaten and broken body. The cuts on her face. The scars on her back. It was hard to remember but even harder to see. She could almost see the tears on her sisters face. Memorizing each and every precious drop that fell from her sisters bloodied face. The memory hurt her. It made her not want to go on with this 'fair' trial. It made her want to get even. To get them back. To have revenge.
“I swear on my honour I will see justice done... one way or another.”
She heard to call from the other side of the door. They were ready for her. She stood from the chair that had served as her bed for the last few days. Walking to the door she heard it being opened from the far side. She was ready.
Let the trial begin
