Thanksgiving

It was almost Thanksgiving and the students and the teachers were getting ready the classroom was all nicely decorated with like nuts. And the front hallway of the school was also very nicely decorated. The students were going to make a Thanksgiving feast for the parents.

Rainbow Dash and Applejack were helping the teacher Ms. Daisy flowers to get the hallways ready, though there wasn’t a whole lot they could do but what Applejack could do with that of help was put up the pumpkin decorations on the windows, Rainbow on the other hand couldn’t do anything except sit in her wheelchair and watch.

When Daisy was done helping Applejack put up pumpkin decorations on the windows.

She turn to rainbow and said “oh sorry Dash but you can’t help this time around”

Rainbow mustard a weak smile, but deep down Rainbow was feeling extremely sad, ever since she had ALS she couldn’t do anything so she could do less and less over the years.

Applejack took notice that Rainbow was feeling sad.

“Ms. Daisy is it OK if I take Dash back to our classroom?” Applejack asked the teacher.

“That’s fine Applejack go ahead you can comfort her better then I can” Daisy said, with a wink.

Daisy smiled to herself as Applejack and Rainbow left.

“Ah young love isn’t it amazing” Vice principal Luna said walking up to Daisy.

“You can say that again it is the best thing I’ve ever seen of the school since well forever, well last student that we had wasn’t very keen on making any friends so we had to bribe her into making friends but that didn’t turn out very well, you might remember she eventually died after a couple weeks here at the school I don’t know why it might’ve been her disability or it might’ve just been her lack of friendship” Daisy said wiping a tear away.

“Well I guess that’s life” vice principal Luna said.

In the classroom:

“Hey Rainbow you don’t seem like yourself today what’s wrong?” Applejack asked her friend.

Rainbow simply look at Applejack with tears in her eyes.

There a major problem Rainbow can’t talk because of her ALS Rainbow Dash was very weak and also couldn’t speak she used to be able to speak before she got ALS, The teacher try to use a spelling board over the years but it didn’t work so now Rainbow was left without any means of communication. She could only nod her head to say no and raise her eyebrows to say yes.

"Dash, I really wish I knew how I could help you" Applejack said with saddened expression on her face.

Pinkie pie was also in the classroom she was sorting paperwork, she took notice that Applejack was trying to help Rainbow so she walked over to the two.

"Hey guys so are you ready to make pumpkin pie?" Pinkie asked.

Applejack licked her lips.

"I see Applejacks ready to make pumpkin pie, what about you Rainbow?" Pinkie asked the rainbow haired girl.

Rainbow looked at Applejack then Pinkie and nodded her head.

"OK then let's go to the kitchen" Pinkie said joyfully as she walked to the door of the classroom with Rainbow and Applejack.

A couple minutes later they arrive at the kitchen.

“Ah Pinkie, I see that you have arrived” Daisy said joyfully as Pinkie Rainbow and Applejack came in to the kitchen.

“Here are the ingredients for pumpkin pie we need: location)
1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin 1, (14 ounce) a can of Sweetened Condensed Milk, 2 large eggs, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger,1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust” Daisy said reading off the ingredient list.

“Pinkie could you please get a big bowl and the can pumpkin from the fridge” Daisy said when she finished the ingredient list.

Pinkie went to get a big bowl and the canned pumpkin from the fridge, when she came back she put the bowl and the canned pumpkin on the table.

“Let’s see I guess now we need to put the canned pumpkin into the bowl with Sweetened Condensed Milk” Daisy said looking over the ingredient list.

“Applejack do you want to help me?” Daisy asked.

“Yes I would love to help ya” Applejack replied.

After the pumpkin pie was baked the students were still all in the kitchen and Daisy went to the window and looked outside it was snowing outside then she saw a couple of cars pull into the driveway of the school, then she turned away from the window with a smile on her face.

“Looks like the parents are here, Rainbow I do not see your parent’s car” Daisy said with a frown.

Rainbow looked like she was on the verge of tears.

“I’m going to go downstairs to greet all of the parents” Daisy announced.

Once downstairs Daisy saw Applejack’s parents.

“Mr. and Mrs. Apple I presume” Daisy said as she approached Applejack’s parents. “That’s right” Mrs Apple said in a very thick southern accent.

“Well then come with me the pumpkin pie is already out of the oven and ready to be served and I see that Rainbow’s parents aren’t here” Daisy said.

“Well I don't know if they are goin’ to come this time round” Mr Apple said to Daisy.

Daisy cleared her throat.

“Well let’s go upstairs shell we” Daisy said after a long and awkward period of silence.

Once Daisy and the Apples were upstairs in the kitchen. Applejack saw her parents and raced to greet them.

“How's our lil’ Apple doin’ today?” Mr Apple inquired.

“I’m doing fine, pa” Applejack said to her parents.

“Well since no other parents are going to show up, who’s ready for pumpkin pie?” Daisy inquired.

“We are” The Apples said in unison. Daisy cut them each a slice of pie, while Pinkie was feeding Rainbow Dash and Applejack at the same time.

Though at first Applejack’s parents insisted they feed their daughter themselves.

But Daisy had none of that. So after a hearty meal of pumpkin pie and other assorted foods the parents had to go home and so did the students because it was almost school out but because Rainbow’s parents didn’t show Rainbow had to be driven by the bus while Applejack had to be driven by her parents.
