We Need A Better Acronym

Twilight Velvet couldn't have picked a worst time to try to bring forth another of her crazy, and frankly dangerous ideas, if she tried.

A piece of lettuce was near Celestia's open mouth, obviously about to be eaten when her dear friend had suddenly barged into the castle's throne room and shoved a official looking piece of paper in her face, completely ignoring the four spears held near Velvet's neck as Celestia sighed and put down the plastic fork held in her magic with a loud sigh.

It was going to be one of those days.

Her small salad snack forgotten and with a mere wave of her hoof, the guards took back their spears and returned to their positions as Celestia glanced at her friend who was panting, a roll of sweat running down her forehead and was smiling as though she just won the lottery before Celestia with another sigh grasped the paper in her own magic and read it.

To all married and single mothers. Tired of having no one to talk to or interact with in your day to day struggle of raising your children? Hoping to be apart of more with other females who may share similar interest and be a friend to you?

Then feel free to come to our group, Mothers Of Patience, and allow yourself the opportunity to relax among friends.

Celestia stopped reading as she knew exactly where her friend lived and raised an eyebrow, she had to admit it was very nicely worded and was sure to catch an eye or two, though it did worry her that Velvet was blandly giving away her address to who knows what or who and how she would be able to cover the cost of food and drink but Celestia assumed that this may have been the reason Twilight Velvet came to her to begin with.

"Mothers of patience? Is sounds like a cult...you're not trying to start a cult again, are you Velvet?" Celestia asked in a tone that one would argue was concern but knowing the nature of the relationship the two shared, Celestia was merely joking.

Twilight Velvet gave her friend a bemused look as Celestia looked over the paper to her and rolled her eyes.

"I told you, that wasn't a cult. It just went a little...hectic." She muttered with a nervous chuckle causing Celestia to give her a blank stare.

"Pinkie Pie was passing out pamphlets and wearing a terrifying looking robe saying to those walking near "It gets better when you accept it." which scared half of Canterlot and Luna. She almost went to fetch her axe, thinking a monster was attacking the city from the screams being heard." Celestia argued causing Velvet to facehoof herself and groan.

"I told her to tell them that there were free samples of apples and more information inside the house when we started the charity fund for orphans. How was I supposed to know she was going to...well, be Pinkie?" Velvet countered with a huff causing Celestia to grin and shake her head.

"And what if there are too many mares to keep in your house? Or if one turns out to be a thief or worse, a mass murderer?" Celestia spoke calmly but Velvet knew her friend well enough to know when she was already over analyzing, a trait Twilight no doubt picked up from her, go figure.

"Tia, you and I both know you placed an extremely powerful, invisible barrier around my house that could not only instantly dispel illusions, such as the Changelings, but could also warn any member of the family in the house if something was amiss. As for the amount of room...well, once you join as Sunny Skies I'm sure they'll be no real issues of finding a bigger place with our connections if it comes to that." Velvet stated with a smirk as Celestia felt her brow creased in confusion.

"Sunny...Twilight Velvet, you can't possibly think I'd have the time or energy with ruling half of Equestria to bother being around you and a bunch of other unknown mares, do you? I-"

"Celestia you need a break, you told me so yourself last week. You get off of Day Court at five to eat dinner, finish some documents and then go to bed before Luna takes over. There was a reason I picked six at night and Wednesday, because those are both your slowest day of the week and you don't have as much paperwork as you normally do. You even bragged about it, constantly. So I'd figure that one of my best friends wouldn't mind taking some time out of her busy schedule to be as the ad says, among friends." Velvet spoke almost desperately, doing a cute pout that would put even Fluttershy to shame and nearly breaking down any resistance or excuse that Celestia had.

"You can eat dinner after you get off, finish the really important papers after which should take you about twenty minutes max and walk, fly or teleport over before any of the other potential guest show up. Then you wake up, raise the sun and finish the other half of your work later while eating a light breakfast before Day Court even starts. I say light because to be completely honest Tia, you're looking a little-"

Celestia magically closed Velvet's mouth with a glare that could melt steel before she dared finished her sentence.

With another through look at the ad, she looked at her friend still attempting to do her best impression of a puppy and sighed loudly, already feeling so drained just considering it before releasing her mouth as the unicorn took a large inhale of rich oxygen.

There were worst ways to meet other mothers, she supposed and more friends that didn't see her as a monarch or worst, a goddess but only as a long lived mortal were always a bonus, she might even actually find something in common if she tried and had fun knowing with a bit of guilt that she would have to lie and appear as a normal, hard working unicorn mare among others that joined so she wouldn't be discovered as the adopted mother to the lone dragon in Ponyville.

"What's my backstory?" Celestia asked softly with a groan, watching as Twilight Velvet did a visible hoof pump in victory complete with a shout of glee making the thousand year old mother and ruler whine like a filly as she closed her eyes and rubbed the sides of her temple with the tip of her hooves, already feeling a headache coming on.

Yep, it was definitely going to be one of those days.

Author's Note

Apologies with this not being edited, I'm no editor. I just write. But I'll try my best and hopefully it makes a few people laugh. Unlike most of my stories I'll do my very best to keep everyone in character and do research if I have to try to stick to their personalities. I'm excited to try something new and I hope you all enjoy, this idea came out of nowhere honestly.

Let me know if you spot any errors and I'll try to get it corrected as fast as I can.

In all honestly, Luna should have just turned around and gone back to bed.

She had woken up to get a snack, perhaps a chocolate bar or two, when she walked into the dining room and noticed her sister and her old friend, Twilight Velvet sitting at the table with many different colored papers spread out before them, not bearing any resemblance to the other and in no particular order making the Alicorn of the night half heartedly grab one of the papers in her hoof, Velvet sipping on some tea as Celestia kept looking back and forth from each paper with a glare.

By sheer luck the paper held in Luna's hoof turned out to be one of the copies of the group Twilight Velvet was taking very seriously to start as Luna read the words quickly before placing it back on the table with a confused look.

"Your group's name is Mop? Sounds a bit sexiest and unusual for a group of mothers, doesn't it?" She asked quizzically causing Velvet to nearly choke on her tea as Celestia snorted, looking up at her little sister with a smirk.

"That's what I told her, but she keeps saying that it's one of the only titles to fit our certain...agenda. I think it's rather silly and for a famous writer such as herself, a bit unoriginal but who I am to get in the way of an amusing pun, if nothing else. Would you like to help us, Luna? We are trying to decide on a back story for me and-"

Luna cut her sister off in surprise, both forehooves on the table as she raised herself up and sat in one of the chairs near it, her weariness forgotten for the moment.

"You plan to attend these meetings as you are? And on top of your regular duties? Don't you have enough on your plate already, Tia?" Luna interrupted causing Celestia to frown and doubt herself, the fraction of unwinding and sharing laughs forgotten before Velvet placed a hoof on her side with an award winning smile.

"No, Lulu. She won't be as we see her when we attend the meetings, she'll be a completely different pony, sharing all kinds of different experiences to the females who show their faces and being able to talk freely about her son...although he obviously won't be talked about as a dragon, and we may have to make a rather elaborate and complicated spin of yarn in order to really sell it and of course she won't be an Alicorn...we didn't really think this through, did we?" Twilight Velvet sighed with a groan placing her head on the table as her forehooves covered the back of her head in stress.

She was already starting to regret this.

But Celestia, the patient and optimistic mare that she was wouldn't let her friend give up on all her hard work just yet, besides, Celestia herself was actually really excited to just be able to freely talk about Spike around those who were not family and not having to worry about the scorn of the Canterlot Council, even an Alicorn was not above the law if it was for personal gain and despite having thousands of years in knowledge and experience, she worried what the masses would think if they learned that a creature not even of their own species would one day rule over them, if he wanted the crown at all, that is.

Celestia felt a burst of pride at Spike's accomplishments and she knew that between his amazing cooking skills, self taught with his photographic memory and passed down from recipes from both the Sparkles and the royal sisters, his music which he thoroughly enjoyed, taught by Celestia herself and Night Light even with some tips from Cadance, and his desire to explore many more parts of the world beside his two homes and expand his knowledge that Spike the dragon could very well not even want the crown or the desire to rule Equestria for a very long time.

He was only fourteen years old, by pony standards after all and his species lived to be nearly ten thousand years old, barring disease or war.

She had loads of stories to talk about watching Spike grow up, even more so with what he went through now and like any good parent, wanted to brag about it as often as she could.

Plus it would be nice being somepony completely different for a change, and with her age she literally had a fine number of options to chose from, all this thinking had Celestia nearly bouncing with joy as a large smile appeared on her face and she wrapped a wing around her friend.

"We have already come up with a rather solid plan so I wouldn't be overwhelmed with my duties and so that I could enjoy some time off, even if it is only two nights a month. I'm having a local editor make some extra copies of Velvet's final draft as we speak to be delivered throughout Canterlot, Cloudsdale and Ponyville respectively to test the waters so that poor Velvet's house doesn't get to crowded and after some time we might find another area to accommodate more of our guest, maybe if we are lucky something like this could even be taken nationwide or-"

"You might be getting ahead of yourself, Tia. Let's start out with a small group and slowly work our way from there, it's only Monday after all, the first meeting won't be for another two days, does that sound fair?" Twilight Velvet interrupted with a smile and roll of her eyes making the solar princess blush in embarrassment as Luna couldn't help but chuckle and summon a servant to get the chocolate she so desperately wanted and sighed loudly.

She wasn't going back to sleep for some time, that's for sure.

Six hours later, upon which Celestia had to attend to three nobles, a Changeling ambassador from King Thorax and an ambassador from Saddle Arabia and each of the girls were still arguing over which portion of Equestria they wanted Sunny Skies to hail from, as well as what race of pony they wanted Spike to be.

"If we make him a unicorn he'll obviously have to perform magic. If by some miracle we have our kids show up to the group they might think he's on par with Twilight and Shining, we can't put that sort of stress on a fourteen year old magic dragon just to impress other mothers and children in the herd!" Twilight Velvet shouted, her fourth half empty glass of wine swaying in her front left hoof as she practically growled in Luna's face who snarled.

"And if we make him a Pegasus, he'll be forced to learn flight, air currents, knowledge of Cloudsdale and it's history-"

"Sunny Skies and Flame Heart came from Fillydelphia, where Sunny is an established assistant from the mayor and divorced, she moved from her home town to experience the splendor of Canterlot only a week ago-" Velvet practically screamed before being rudely interrupted by Luna who was on her six cup of wine at this time.

"No, she and Flame Heart are from Baltimare where she lost her second child in a miscarriage and worked in a newspaper print, trying to scrape together all that she could-"

"How can she afford to move to Canterlot if she can't even afford to take care of her son and herself?! She would barely be able to afford the train ride let alone one night in a hotel! They need money-"

"And writing a lot of fake documents and having her have experience working in a political office is any less time consuming then saying she can't be homeless for a few nights?!" Luna screamed back, as she bent down and pressing her muzzle rather firmly into Velvet's own who glared at her as though she was Tirek himself.

"I can't believe you would have your own sister and nephew be homeless even for a wild and outlandish backstory, Luna-"

"That's Princess Luna to you-"

"Calm yourself Star Face, we both know your title means nothing when I'm around." Velvet all but roared as Luna nearly lowered her head and stabbed the other mare but groaned feeling a headache coming on and slammed her head into the table in front of her instead, her horn getting stuck as she only huffed.

"Tia, what do you think we should do?" Luna asked, attempting to take another sip of her wine, her foggy mind not even registering that her face was basically stuck in the table as the wine poured about a quarter of it's liquid in Luna's mouth and splashed about the same amount onto the side of her face as she only groaned.

Celestia all but ignored the two who were screaming at each other for hours with nearly six bottles of wine around them as she adjusted the glasses on her snout and tried so very, very hard to read the wooden carvings that Spike and Twilight drew when they were younger underneath the table, her wings sprayed out completely and an entire bottle in her right front hoof, tears streaking down her face at all the missed opportunities of not being there for Spike when he needed her as she hiccupped and attempted to wipe her nose with a hoof, despite an empty tissue box and multiple amounts of tissue scattered all around her.

"She can't hear you Lulu, she's gone into reminisce mother mood." Twilight Velvet sighed deeply as she tried to lower herself down gently to help her friend out of whatever funk she was going through now but her brain had other ideas and chose to get there a faster way as her legs gave out and she slammed face first into the carpet.

"Tia...we need an idea." Velvet whispered, reaching a hoof out to stroke Celestia's wings making the Alicorn of the sun suddenly get an idea and have the urge to hurl at the same time.

Grabbing the tissue box next to her she barfed into it, which did absolutely nothing since it was upside down and a small box as she didn't noticed her front hooves were covered in vomit as she slowly caught her breath and nearly used her Royal We to give her friend and sister her idea.

"Spike and I, Celestia of the sun-"

"Flame Heart and Sunny Skies." Both Luna and Velvet corrected simultaneously as Celestia ignored them and continued.

"Hail from Vanhoover. I was born to a blacksmith and ice cream sells mare with my sister...Luna what's your name again?" Celestia questioned as Luna shrugged and forgot that her sister couldn't see her before attempting to splash more wine in her mouth and answered.

"Milky Way." Came the reply and a shout of pride as the alcoholic beverage spilled into her mouth by complete accident.

"Yes, Milky Way and worked to the bone to save up for college as we were a poor family. I got my degree in science-"

"Oh so now you super smart, huh?" Luna yelled angrily as Celestia once again ignored her.

"And I gave birth to a healthy son named Spike the dragon-"

"So many things wrong with that sentence. But a couple of questions, Tia. One, his name is Flame Heart in this scenario, how do you keep messing that up? And two, you can't just have a foal without a stallion, so how are you suddenly pregnant and giving birth?" Velvet asked as she spat out what she swore was blood and licked her top teeth with her tongue.

"Actually-" Luna tried to speak but Celestia intervened...again.

"I will provide for him in the coming days, you'll see mother, I'll be a better mother than you could ever be!" Celestia screamed as she slammed her front hooves into the bottom of the table, hitting it so hard that it shook and manage to set Luna free who dropped onto the floor with the other mares and slowly brought the bottle of wine to her lips with a sigh.

"Did Celestia have an issue with her mother?" Twilight Velvet asked slowly to Luna who snorted and rolled her eyes, but only succeeded in what could basically be described as a wink...not even directed at Velvet but a suit of empty, metal armor.

"You kidding? Mother was the kindest, most gentle mare we ever known, she loved us with every ounce of her heart. Celly here has just been listening to too much soap opera radio again and thinks the characters in the story are her in some way...she does this when she's drunk off her ass. And any second she's going to go nearly supernova and start racing to apologize to Spike for not being a good mother, but he's used to it." Luna tried to speak very clearly and thought she was giving out all the details her mind was taking the unicorn but all Velvet heard was something about radio characters and Spike going supernova.

"He can do that?!" Twilight Velvet shouted loudly in horror as both Luna and Celestia nodded vigorously as if there life depended on it.

"We...we have to save him. He can't be...this awesome!" Velvet slurred as Celestia rolled over and attempted to stand up, banging her head hard against the wood of the table as she hissed and unfurled her wings once more, walking slowly backwards out of the table and dragging Twilight Velvet out from underneath by her tail with her mouth.

"We have to save our babies!" Celestia screamed into Velvet's face and flew off with every ounce of her power to Twilight's Castle of Friendship, dragging Velvet once more by her tail in her teeth as the unicorn started screaming about Twilight getting cavities if she didn't brush her teeth right now, not even being aware that she was be held upside down by a drunk Alicorn.

Luna finally finished the rest of the remaining bottle held in her hooves and looked to the loyal bat pony guards coming to rouse her for her own duties of the night as she looked up at them and winked.

"Did you get that?" She asked as they glanced at each other and face hoofed, the three mares had been alone in the dining room for hours so nopony, especially the drunk mares were writing anything down.

Meanwhile it took about two hours to finally reach Twilight's castle since they got lost in the Everfree and chased by a hoard of Timberwolves but at long last they had arrived...or at least Celestia did, Twilight Velvet threw a rock into Fluttershy's house and broke in to cuddle with the Pegasus, making the extremely tired young mare terrified and very confused on why exactly Twilight's mother had broken into her home.

Fluttershy was about to get up and ask but unfortunately as soon as she lifted her head off her pillow, Twilight Velvet flung a hoof out to proclaim that she had come to save her daughter and accidently knocked her out.

Velvet, in her drunk mind had assumed that Twilight wanted her to cuddle like she did when she was younger, so she grabbed the young mare whose nose she broke in her hooves and snuggled, falling asleep instantly, despite the mud, blood coming from Fluttershy's nose and twigs in her mane, fur and tail.

Mother knows best after all.

As this was going on, Celestia had after an hour of wandering the castle, found Spike's bed and attempted to wake him up, she didn't notice that she had passed the dragon himself walking down the halls to play cards with Twilight, Starlight and Trixie but once Spike himself saw his own mother nearly gallop like her life depended on it to find his room, he gave chase.

This had to be the third time this year that she had done it and he felt guilty not visiting her as he should have but this was just getting ridiculous.

After stopping to catch his breath, he looked into his room and found the co ruler of Equestria passed out drunk, snuggling his blanket and pillow and snoring making him chuckle.

He could get a camera and take a picture to blackmail her, but that wouldn't be very nice or fair.

So he settled for telling Twilight by whispering into her ear, saying goodnight to the others and falling asleep next to the mare who raised him as if he was her own flesh and blood.

Mother knew best after all.

Author's Note

The group will be brought in on the next chapter, I just wanted a funny, maybe a bit random chapter of the girls trying to figure out Celestia's background and failing...if that wasn't obvious. Hope you all enjoy it anyway.

Twilight Velvet was mortified, granted it had been two days since the incident but she could swear that half of Equestria was laughing at her for what she had done, even if what had transpired never even made it to the papers and she had paid for the damage to Fluttershy's house and nose with a little bit of help from Celestia.

The Pegasus, being the kind and nourished soul that she was had forgiven her, of course but Velvet still felt bad for what she had done while drunk off her ass and shook her head to try to dispel any negative thoughts and took a deep breath, making sure to check that everything in her house was in place seeing that it was about a quarter till six at night and she was sure if nothing else that Celestia or 'Sunny Skies' as was her alias would arrive, at least she hoped.

A wide range of different cookies, a few miniature slices of different flavors of cake and three different brands of both punch and soda was laid out for her guest, she just hoped none of them had any allergies or if they did that they let her know for next time, if there even was a next time.

She was very nervous internally, for she had no real idea what would happen if more ponies or other races came then what she had set out, other than the couch and chair in the living room, there were about ten plastic chairs surrounding the place and she had to be very careful that they were arranged in a way so that none of the other females were crowded or their tails were stepped on.

Night Light had gone to play some cards and listen to some hoofball on the radio with his friends for the night, as he didn't want to get in the way of 'girl time' as he called it. The only other occupant other than herself for the moment was Peewee, Spike's pet phoenix who she was watching for a few days as Spike went to visit his friend, Ember in the Dragonlands and worried that the other dragons would injure or even kill his pet, despite Peewee's protest in wanting to travel with his owner.

Why Fluttershy, the servants of his mother's castle, or Twilight herself didn't watch him, she didn't know but it was nice to see the young fire bird enjoying himself by nibbling on a cookie, she had been told by Spike himself that he and Peewee worked very hard on helping him control his flames inside places that weren't fire resistant, though she performed a triple flame resistant spell among her house and herself, along with her husband, just in case.

Taking a deep breath, Twilight Velvet steeled her nerves and prayed to the gods that the meet up would go smoothly. She was double checking that everything was in order once more before a knock at the door caught her attention and made her take one last deep breath upon walking to it before she opened it with her magic.

Smiling brightly she nearly frowned upon seeing that it was just Celestia, or 'Sunny Skies' in her unicorn disguise and had her breath taken away at how captivating her friend was, even if it was the third time she had seen it.

Celestia's eyes were a vibrant, rosy pink, her coat still snow white and her mane and tail were nearly the same color as her eyes, if a few shades darker.

She stood at the same height Velvet did and her Cutie Mark was replaced by a single rose, her wings hidden in an extremely powerful cloaking spell and her horn was the same size as a normal pony's, if Velvet had never seen her in this form she wouldn't even know that it was her friend who stood before her and would have assumed she was one of the mothers visiting her for the night.

Letting out a whistle of approval causing the former Alicorn to roll her eyes with a groan, Velvet let Celestia enter into her house and smirked before looking towards the clock and seeing that the other mothers who wished to attend were going to be here in about five minutes.

"You look amazing, Tia. I'm surprised you don't take that form more often." She complemented the older mare who laughed sarcastically and blew a raspberry. Celestia looked over the food and drinks Velvet had bought for her friend and the other mares with a hum of approval before slowly running her hoof over Peewee's head as he gave a chirp in greeting, knowing who she was even without the different appearance, if she had to guess with how he hopped on her back making her hidden wings move a little as she ignored it.

He quickly hopped off to finish his cookie as Celestia turned to Velvet who was checking the placements of the seats again.

"Quite an impressive set up you have here Velvet, I hope it was worth it to borrow money from the crown," She teased as Velvet responded by sticking her tounge out in a childish manner making her laugh before she continued. "As for this form, well...I used it a few times when Spike was younger so not too many eyes and ears would question an Alicorn being around a baby dragon, I wanted to appear like any other mother as you know when he was younger." She paused, getting a bit emotional as she wanted to explain something to her a bit more serious.

"As well as the one chance to well...leave when I first brought him to you-"

"Tia, we went over this. You had every right to take Spike and go to parts unknown if you wanted to. No mother who loves their children would blame you for wanting to-"

Velvet was cut off quickly by the sudden sound of a knock on her door as she glanced at the clock and saw that it was six p.m. on the dot, looking back towards her friend in a way of apology as she nodded and went to take a seat on the couch, Velvet trotted to the door and opened it this time with her hoof, nearly being blasted in the face by a cloud of confetti, streamers and a very loud and hyperactive voice.

She blinked and was surprised to see Pinkie Pie in front of her.

The Earth Pony mare simply had a grin that could rival the sun itself and had about five other mares behind her who smiled and giggled respectfully seeing Velvet's face.

"Pinkie, what did I tell you last time about using party decorations to surprise me?" Velvet tried to say in a stern tone but could not help a smile forming on her lips as the pink ball of energy rubbed the back of her head with a hoof in embarrassment.

"Sorry about that, Mrs. Velvet, I just got too excited for this mother only party to begin that I just couldn't help it." Pinkie spoke slowly with a small smile on her face causing Velvet to roll her eyes before confusion etched on it.

"Wait a minute...you're a mother?" Velvet asked in both shock and surprise as Pinkie nodded her head wildly, her expression from the small smile ramping back up to the rival the sun type excitement that she had before as she bounced it place.

"Yes ma'am I am, proud adopted mother to a little bundle of wacky, zany and fun joy named Screwball. I forgot to mention her last time I was here for your charity fundraiser but then I saw the flyer that was posted on Sugarcube Corner and that got me nearly rocketing to space in excitement and I just had to come and see what it was all about and then I told my friends and then-"

"Ahem." She was interrupted by a cough behind her as Pinkie turned her head, forgetting that Velvet had other guests as she smiled in embarrassment once more and with a nod from Velvet trotted inside.

"I'll tell you more about her later, now let's get this party started! Hi, my name's Pinkie Pie-"

Twilight Velvet shook her hoof with a grin and roll of her eyes, blocking out the rest of the Element of Laughter's words as Pinkie introduced herself to Celestia or Sunny and turned her head to look at the other mares who had come so far.

This was definitely going to be interesting now.

She was a bit disappointed that no female races other than ponies had arrived but like any good host trying to be courteous she didn't show it and looked over the other mares before her, recognizing Cup Cake from Ponyville as she saw three Earth Ponies, a Pegasus and Unicorn.

The lone Pegasus trotted up slowly with her eyes traveling to different directions and stopped in front of Velvet with a smile.

"Hi, my name's Ditzy Doo but my friends call me Derpy Hooves. I'm from Ponyville with the rest of the girls here. Thank you for setting this up and allowing us to catch a break and let our manes down." She spoke making Velvet do nothing more than nod with a smile as Derpy grinned and walked inside, no doubt marveling at the interior from the sounds of surprise coming behind Velvet who saw one of the Earth Ponies walk forward, her mannerisms clearly telling the unicorn that she hailed from a wealthy family, wearing an elegant black dress and a string of pearls around her neck, carrying herself as though she owned half of Equestria.

"Good evening, young madam. My name is Spoiled Rich, I am from the barren hick town that is Ponyville, the wife of the very affluent and handsome, Filthy Rich and mother to the up and coming grace of Equestria itself, Diamond Tiara. Although this...sort of establishment is not my normal means of comfort, I come at the behest of my daughter to make...more friends." Spoiled spoke in a manner making Velvet both a bit irritated and amused as she merely nodded with a polite smile and allowed her in with a gentle if not mocking bow.

She had to resist the urge to roll her eyes before turning to meet the other two.

Cup Cake stepped forward with a grin and a quick hug, no words needed to be spoken as the two friends knew of each other from back in their days as fillies as Cup Cake entered with a smile and Velvet turned and was surprised to see Granny Smith of all mares slowly trot up to her with an uneasy smile.

"Beggin your pardon that Ah'm not intruding on you younglings, Pinkie Pie suggested since Ah don't do much while my grandkids are out working the fields that Ah see what all the hub a loo is about since Ah am or rather was a mother. Ah don't-"

"Granny Smith. I think I can make an exception for you." Velvet softly interrupted making the old mare grin as Velvet had to keep herself from snickering at how Granny Smith thought she was the oldest one there. Keeping her composure Velvet bowed her head slightly in a sincere manner and allowed the elder mare inside.

That was not to say that mothers of deceased children were not welcomed, she just didn't expect any to come seeing at how it would probably bring up heart wrenching memories and she didn't want to make anyone uncomfortable or have any of the mares in her home suffer.

Velvet was just about to close the door and allow everypony who didn't know each other, which she doubted, to introduce themselves before she saw a blur of blue in her peripheral vision and heard the sound of her neighbors trash can being knocked over followed by a hearty laugh and peered over to see a cornflower blue Pegasus with a short light vermillion mane and tail. The mare had an enthusiastic energy that could rival Pinkie Pie as she shook her head and galloped over to Velvet, her purple color eyes brimming with glee.

"Hi there, my name's Windy Whistles. I'm the one and only mother of the amazing and awesome Wonderbolt, Rainbow Dash. Sorry I'm late, my friends are coming soon. We got lost in this city and got turned around. What's your name?" Windy asked in such a rapid fire manner that if Velvet didn't know Pinkie herself she would have been both confused and a bit frightened of the Pegasus before her.

Clearing her throat and saving face for herself, Velvet responded in kind and shook Windy's hoof welcoming her to her home and asking where her friends were.

"Oh, they'll be any second now, they're slow flyers unlike me and my daughter. Though my husband can be a bit slow with him getting up in age and all. I don't mean to be rude but would it be alright if I used your bathroom? Had a bit too much to drink before I came here." She exclaimed breathlessly making Velvet laugh and give her directions upstairs as the mare nearly sprinted past her with a thank you and making Velvet wait for Windy's friends she hoped would show soon.

She didn't have to wait long at all in fact, as she spotted two Pegasus flying down to no doubt meet her and an Earth Pony and Unicorn mare were galloping from the left as the two Pegasi landed and trotted with a nervous smile and nodded before all three waited as the Earth Pony and Unicorn finally reached them, heaving, the Earth Pony waved a sweaty hoof for the others to go on before one of the Pegasus stepped forward.

The older mare before Velvet had a light amber coat, with a raspberry colored mane and tail and cerise colored eyes, her large green glasses falling down her nose slightly as she giggled in embarrassment and readjusted them before clearing her throat.

"H-hello. I'm sorry we're late. My name is Cirrus Shy, I'm Fluttershy and Zephyr Breeze's mother. My friends and my husband wanted me to come and be around other mothers to feel more...well, accepted. I suppose you can say." Cirrus whispered softly forcing Velvet to strain her ears at her words before laughing and with an honest smile, welcomed her as the Pegasus gave a polite bow and quickly shuffled inside before turning to look at the other three mares.

The other Pegasus strolled forward and gave a very military crisp salute to which Velvet didn't know how to respond to with a professional if a bit forced smile and cleared her throat.

"I apologize for my tardiness ma'am and will make certain that it does not happen again, my name is Stormy Flare, I am the divorced mother of the captain Spitfire of the Wonderbolts, ma'am and I was told by my companion Windy Whistles and Cirrus Shy to join them in being among others of a similar nature, I ask that you do not take our tardiness to heart ma'am as we will refrain from doing so in the future, may I ask your name so that we may acquaint ourselves, ma'am?" She barked in such a tone that it made the Earth Pony behind her jump and caused Velvet to frown, not really sure what to say on the matter but she was used to military protocol even if this was a bit, unorthodox.

"At ease, soldier. My name is Twilight Velvet, mother of Princess Twilight Sparkle and Prince Shining Armor, don't worry you girls are just in time. I would salute you myself but seeing as how I was never in the military, I don't want to disrespect you. Come on in, make yourself comfortable, Miss Flare." Velvet said in a warm and hospitable voice causing the Pegasus before to practically sigh in relief before she gave one final salute and with a more genuine smile, walked inside.

The Unicorn walked forward and smiled, sweat trailed down her forehead, she wore a pair of white pants and a black silk shirt, her purple mane nearly as big as Velvet's head and she gave up the sort of grin as though she was seeing her children for the first time in ages.

"Howdy there, sorry my friend and I are late, we couldn't keep up with Pinkie and Ellie here tripped, she's ok though. My name's Cookie Crumbles and this is my friend Elaina Mash, I am Rarity and Sweetie Belle's mother and Elaina here is Button Mash's and Gibson's mother, thank you for allowing us to have some fun with other mares like us, it's been quite some time since we've been part of a group." Cookie exclaimed excitedly as Elaina waved her hoof in greeting with a smile.

"It's not a problem at all, welcome. We have quite a rather large crowd of girls here tonight, please come in and make yourselves at home." Velvet spoke with a big smile as the two mares smiled back with a nod and trotted inside.

Velvet waited a few more minutes to see if anyone else would make it but to her disappointment the ten mares that came seem to be all that had bothered. Still, it warmed her heart to know that she had caught some attention as she sighed loudly then shut the door, and turned around to see the different mares talking to each other animedley before she cleared her throat and went to take a seat on the couch next to Celestia.

Pinkie Pie was sitting and drinking some punch in a plastic cup next to her as Spoiled Rich sat in the only plush chair and after a few beats the other girls followed suit along the plastic chairs.

Leaning over past Pinkie, Velvet asked Celestia if she would put away the remaining chairs.

She nodded and got up to do just that before Velvet turned to the nervous, uncomfortable and silent eyes looking at her as the mutters of a few voices quieted down as Velvet cleared her throat with an uneasy smile at the many ponies around her. Celestia came back and took her seat.

"Hello there and welcome, I thank you all for joining me, especially on such short notice. I'm positive this will be a fun and eventful night. If you don't already know, my name is Twilight Velvet and I'm the mother of Princess Twilight Sparkle and Prince Shining Armor, as well as wife to my husband, Night Light. For this first meeting I'd like it if all of us could please stand up and introduce ourselves, then we'll continue on from there and move on to other topics." Velvet asked in a happy and sincere tone before turning and nodding to Pinkie.

The mare in question quickly swallowed the remaining punch in her drink and set the cup on the wooden floor below before hopping off the couch and practically beamed at the audience before her as she took a deep breath and spoke.

"Hi there, my name's Pinkie Pie. I'm the Element of Laughter from Ponyville and adopted mother of my loveable Earth Pony filly, Screwball, and mate to Discord, you all should know who Discord is by now, right? Spirit of Disharmony and God of Chaos? Anyway I'm a baker at Sugarcube Corner, who works along side Mr and Mrs. Cake who I brought here tonight since she had two adorable foals of her own, Pumpkin and Pound Cake. I have three sisters, Maud, Marble and Limestone along with a mom and dad who work on a rock farm and I help protect Equestria from all sorts of meanie bad guys who want to destroy us or take over, either one can't be good right? Anyway, I hope to get to know all you lovely mares, even if I know some of you already and can't wait to have more of a blast in the future." Pinkie spoke in such a rapid fire, hyper active voice that it was a few seconds before any of the mares noticed she stopped talking.

"W-what?" Cirrus questioned quietly making Stormy Flare beside her shrug as Pinkie's smile slowly diminished until she rubbed her left forehoof with her right awkwardly and slowly crawled up to the couch to sit back down before turning to Celestia, begging with her eyes for her to go next, a cough was heard as Celestia had to struggle to keep from bursting out laughing before Cup Cake giggled and nearly every mare in the room started laughing hysterically.

They managed to calm down after a few minutes.

"I like you, Miss Pie." Windy Whistles spoke trying to catch her breath causing the mare to smile again before Celestia followed Pinkie Pie's example and stood on all four hooves on the floor with a practiced if not nervous grin.

"Hello, my name is Sunny Skies and I'm the mother of an Earth Pony colt named Flame Heart. We are from Vanhoover and I'm a single mother, I worked as a blacksmith near the edge of the city along with my sister, Milky Way-"

"Your tail's on fire." Pinkie commented, pointing suddenly with a hint of confusion at the small flame coming from the long strings of Celestia's tail and Peewee who chirped in greeting from his place on Celestia's seat.

"And my tail's on-" Celestia paused barely hearing Pinkie Pie's words before she spun her head around and shirked as many of the other mares screamed and attempted to aid the screaming Unicorn who was flailing around the house in horror.

Twilight Velvet could do nothing more then place her head in her hooves with a groan.

Things were already going so great, she could only guess what else would be in store for the night at this rate.

Very, very special thanks to my author brother and editor of this chapter, Steadfast Hoof, it really means a lot to me brother. So yeah, this is the full gang, twelve mares in all meaning it will get crazy and more then wild for sure. I made absolutely sure to only have canon mothers, though you could argue that Pinkie, Derpy and Celestia don't count but I don't care, I like it this way.

I was going to add about two more like Pinkie's mother and Sunburst's mother but I don't care and don't want to have to go through even more ponies.

I take using canon characters (which they all are, trust me I did the research) very seriously unless I really have no choice but to use an OC, since the world of MLP is way, way to large to use OC's all the time, but that's just me.
