Chapters "WAKE UP YOU SORRY MEAT SACKS!" some says. I jump out of my bed and saluted. Nine others did the same thing. A man slowly walks into the room, eyeing all of us as if he's judging us. "Listen up! You morons were chosen to be the next candidates for Serum X. Can any of you tell me what Serum X is?" The man asks.
A child raises his hand, "doesn't Serum X give us really cool powers?"
The man laughs. "That is correct. Alright Serum X is a man made 'item' that is built to make us into super soldiers. Each and everyone of you will each get some of the serum. I will not lie to you Serum X will most likely kill you if you can't handle it. About fifty percent of the people we've taken in have died by this. If you back out of this now we shall escort you to the nearest exit and you shall leave. No tricks or anything of the sort. Now anymore questions? Good, now who wants to back out?" He asks.
Five people on my left raised their hand. The man nods, he then motions to some soldiers to escort the people out of here.
"So it's been decided. The rest of you get into your training uniforms cause as of now. You're all going to be here for a long time. The training will be rough but well worth the effort. My name is William Matron, I'm your instructor. You'll follow all of my directions is that clear?"
We all nod and William motions us to follow him. My name is Dylan Lydell I was born in Texas in district twenty five. I have short curly hair, blue eyes, and I'm 5'10 in height. I was taken from my house after I was "chosen" to be the next candidate for this new fancy serum. It's the year 2055, a massive war has begun between two opposing factions. The Reapers and the Watchers. Watchers wanted to promote peace for us all giving. Reapers wanted nothing but destruction and for people to follow under their rule.
Watchers tried to negotiate but that led to more problems. Soon Prime Minister Alan Barnett had been assassinated by the Reapers. The Watchers finally decided to act and destroyed many great places. Russia, Japan, China, Beijing, Italy, Iran, and my home. Governments have fallen or are to scared to act. Watchers have been working day by day trying to find away to take care of the threat. I just hope they find one soon.
We arrived into a room which I assumed was our new sleeping quarters but they were cells. Metal bars and electricity surrounded the metal.
"Welcome to your new home people. You will all wait here while we take care of the others who decided to leave. Marley unlock the cells and get some get them in there."
An alarm went off soon the metal doors opened. We all got into our cells each with one bed, one toilet, and a sink. This felt like a prison more than anything. We also had a window. I jump onto my bed as the metal cells closed. I looked outside my window and say the five who wanted to leave. Something was off however.
The instructor was out there holding a gun. 'What the hell?' I mumble. *BANG* I fell backwards, he just shot one of them. I quickly sit back up and looked outside the window. He shot the little boy, why? Why would he do that? I could barely make out what they were saying. All I could hear was "you're a traitor to your own." He executed each individual one, blood spilling all over the ground. One was gurgling and coughing up blood. The instructor was kneeling and then put another bullet right between his eyes.
I couldn't watch anymore. Soon an alarm was rang and my cell was opened up. Three guards came in, each holding a stun stick. I slowly back up until I hit the wall and next thing I knew all I could see was darkness.
"Good job. Now let's take him to the lab."

My head was killing me. I've never had a more gruesome heading up till now. I tried to sit up but then quickly realized that I was unable to move. I was restrained, sharp tools were on both sides of me plus a giant machine above me. I kept on struggling but no luck. After about I'd say an hour of struggling two men in white lab coats walked into the room.
"Evening i'm Samuel Mason and this is my assistant Ryan Monroe. We're going to perform the procedure so you can get your special gift. Don't worry all documents were signed saying you're fine with doing this and we can__"
"LIKE HELL I'D SAY THAT!" I yell. "Let me go or i'll destroy you."
"Now listen good, we've been working day and night trying to get our super soldiers ready to defeat the Reaper threat you're either going to do this willingly or we shall do it by force. Is. That. Clear." Samuel says with an angry expression.
I kept on struggling but I couldn't do anything. I wanted to cry but no tears could come out. Ryan turned around and walked towards a switch. He proceeded to flip the switch, causing the machine to lower towards me with a massive needle protruding out of it. I felt a sharp pain on my side soon after, then a warm feeling. I turned my head and saw the serum being pumped into me. I soon felt a burning sensation on my right side. It was hot, felt like I was on fire. I screamed in agony. Blood started to dribble, Samuel put a bandage over it.
"Congratulations, you're now our new super soldier. Your training will begin tomorrow." Samuel says with a wicked grin.

*BOOM*
I jumped out of my bed upon hearing that explosion. Alarms and gunfire could be heard everywhere. I could hear people screaming an agony. I tried to get up only to feel that sharp pain again. "I have to press on" I say. I quickly jolted upwards and felt the most excruciating pain I have ever felt in my entire life. Blood began to pour, I quickly grabbed my side with my left hand and walked towards my cell door. Luckily electricity was off and I could easily slip open the door. I felt stronger than before normally you couldn't open a door since it was so heavy. I kept on moving slowly out of the facility hiding whenever I had the chance. Apparently someone caused an explosion and released some of the test subjects.
Who ever it was they did a damn good job. I quickly darted across the courtyard to quickly find myself next to another set of guards. They were slowly patrolling, searching every building. I tried to find something to throw and after about a minute of searching I found a glass bottle. I grabbed the bottle and threw it as hard as I could. The bottle breaks with an ear shattering *smash*, guards quickly turned around with guns raised. I ducked behind cover and waited. As soon as the cost was clear I kept moving.
I made it to the front entrance only to be greeted by him. Our instructor who had a stun stick in one hand and a patient in another. He turned and looked at me.
"Well, well, well...you really think you can escape this place? Hate to break it to ya kid but you ain't leaving not with a wound like that and you wont make it past the hounds. Hell if bullets don't mow you down first. So I suggest you walking back to your cell and wait there for further punishment that will be carried out by yours truly." He says with a menacing grin.
Before I could run another explosion occurred this time on the watch tower that was next to me and the instructor. The explosion knocked us both back, my vision was completely blurry. The last thing I could see was a giant tower falling towards me. Then it was dark.
Author's Note
Here is a prologue that will set up the story now I'm gonna rewrite chapter 1 which should either come out today or monday :)
*Heavy breathing and coughing*
"Where am I?" I looked around, noticing that I am not in the facility. 'Did I escape?' I thought. I tried to get up, only to feel a sharp pain on my back. "Oh yeah I forgot about that." I felt something rough in terms of texture sitting next to me. I look down noticing the stun stick. "It must've been the instructors." I say to no one in particular as I pick up the weapon. At least I had something to protect myself with in case of any guard activity. I wonder who started the explosion. It would make sense if it was a Reaper but I can't rule out the possibility that it was a fellow subject.
I can't think about that right now. Right now I need to focus on where I need to go from here. I slowly walk deeper into the forest. So many different plant life and animals that I've never even seen before. I am on earth right? That's the real question, cause these creatures and plants shouldn't exist. I happened to walk on by a wolf that was made entirely out of wood, thankfully it didn't even catch a whiff of me. I climbed the trees, moving from tree to tree, keeping as high as possible from the ground. Who knows what could be lurking down there.
I managed to make it out of the forest only to come across a set of rail tracks. 'I could sneak onto a train.' I thought. I sat under some bushes close to the tracks and waited. Soon a loud whistle could be heard. I went as low as possible so I don't get spotted. Surely enough a train ends up coming by, I quickly dart from the bushes and grabbed onto a hand railing. Thankfully the train wasn't going very fast otherwise that would've taken my entire arm off. However it did cause my side to hurt. At this point I'm not even worried about my wound anymore I just want to find civilization. I sat on down, admiring the breath taking view.
The wind blowing just enough to make me fall over with a loud *thud*. I loved it, I loved every minute of it. The train finally came to a complete stop. I noticed a sign that said "Welcome To Ponyville". Wait a second, "Ponyville? That's not a real place that I've heard of." I mumble. I quickly look over the railing and saw colorful horse creatures. I swear my eye twitched for a second. "I don't think I am in Kansas anymore." I wonder who said that line. I heard it was from an old movie back a long time ago but I never asked what movie. I jumped on the tracks and decided to lay as low as possible again.
Crawling away I could hear voices in the distance. I couldn't make out what they were saying but it really wasn't that important. After I thought I was far enough away I stood back up, scanning my surroundings. Their was so many horses, you would not believe how many I found in a short time span. I started cautiously walking and stopped every so often to see if anything was coming. If something did end up coming I'd hide until the cost was clear.
I swear I've probably walked for about an hour and this pain on my side isn't helping either. I headed towards a giant oak tree that was kinda near the middle of town. It had windows and a small backyard. Someone lives here I guess, I really don't want to know who in all honesty. I hid behind the house only to find out that I am completely surrounded from all sides. Their was houses on every side of me. I don't know if anyone lives in here or if those horse things do but I can't stick around to find out.
I darted to the closest house, hiding behind it as well. I took a quick glance, noticing a lot of those horses walking around. Some even had wings or horns. "What crazy hellish world did I end up in." I say. I darted to the next house where I found a horse sitting right there on her chair. She, I'm assuming it's a she, had a red mane and this yellowish white color for fur. She turned and looked at me with widened eyes. "You've got to be kidding me I say." She then proceeded to scream. I had to act fast, so I did the dumbest thing ever. I grabbed her and put my hand on her mouth, "listen lady I'm not gonna hurt you but I need you to no scream please. I am not from here I'm just trying to get out of here so please can you remain calm. I promise I won't hurt you, I swear on my life is that understood." I get a weak nod out of her and I let her go.
However it was too late the town had gone completely silent. I could heard those horses coming this way. "Listen sorry for the mishap I'll catch you later if I don't get killed by the other horse creatures." I say before I started running for my life.
"Over there, their it is!" I hear a horse scream. I went into a dead sprint, darting until I couldn't take it anymore. I saw a huge creepy forest just up ahead. I dodged a crap load ton of lasers or a bunch of flying horses dive bombing me. These things really wanted to catch me. I'm not sure why but it's whatever. I was starting to get tired and for some reason very angry. I stop moving, I turned back around. "Just leave me the hell alone!" I yell before stomping my foot. A massive fire wall emerged in front of me. I fell backwards in shock, before feeling a massive force hit me in the face.
"Nice one Rainbow you got it."
Rainbow huh? I'll remember that. Then next thing I could see was darkness. I could've sworn I went through this already.
Pain, waves after waves of pain. I slowly sat up and saw that I was in some sort of wooden house. ‘Dammit I’ve been captured!’ I thought. I quickly scanned the room, not able to find any way out with the exception of a door. I walk up some stairs, soon I was at the door. I tried to open it but no luck.
‘Looks like someone doesn’t want me out of here.’ I thought. I started thinking long and hard about how I could escape.
Suddenly I heard the door unlock, someone was coming in. I had to act fast, I scanned the room again, noticing a wardrobe. It was a tight fit to say the least. I managed to hide inside
“Where the buck did it go?” said a raspy voice.
“I’m ain’t quite sure sugarcube, it could be anywhere by now.” said the southerner.
“Well I never, did you see it’s clothes it was wearing it was a crime to all fashion.” said another.
The rest were thinking of a plan for my capture, I smirk. I thought back to what happened earlier. That fire wall I made, I can tell that my ability was fire but what caused it. Most if not all subjects had a “trigger” of sorts. This trigger could initiate their ability but sometimes not. What was my trigger? Anger or just being plain scared, I chuckled at the thought of being scared.
Hell I might not even have a trigger and I could control it automatically. I soon heard them all head up stairs, shutting the door. I didn’t hear a click or anything as if a door was locked. Slowly, I opened the door to the wardrobe, quickly stepping out of it.
I cautiously opened the door, walking out of the basement. I soon found myself in someone's living room. The house was extremely silent, alright so now I gotta figure out how I’m gonna get outside without being noticed? I’m amazed they didn’t search the house first unless they did
‘Alright it’s time to think. How am I gonna get out without being spotted? I should probably check for a back door and see where it leads.’ I mumbled. I walked towards a kitchen,
Not gonna lie this forest gave off a really bad vibe. I looked back at the town before I ran deep into the forest.
I tried swinging my fists, doing other strange motions with my hands, I tried everything. Nothing came. I got frustrated with my lack of being able to use my power. I
Was anger my “trigger”? It would seem logical considering the fire wall I created. I was angry then and I’m angry now.
“Ok Dylan, think for a second here. It seems your powers are triggered by anger. Now this forest
I started thinking about making light with the fire, sure enough the dancing flame stopped and my entire hand was engulfed in flames. The fire got brighter and brighter, I could see for probably miles due to the immense light that the fire created.
“That’s better.” I say.
I kept walking deeper and deeper into the forest probably to the point now where if I turn back, I’d probably get lost. The forest was too quiet for my liking. I took out the stun stick as I kept walking. I heard a loud growl coming from a bush coming from my left side. I couldn’t tell
“Come and get some!” I yell.
To be honest I didn’t know what I was doing I was terrified but if I ran I’d be mauled. The wolves were about to pounce but they stopped. I was wondering why they didn’t do anything
“What’s wrong? You don’t like the fire?” I say as I got closer to them.
The wolves kept backing away until they backed up into a tree. They let out a loud growl
Then I felt something warm. I realized I was already at the bottom, impaled by a tree limb
“I just can’t take a break can I?”
“Hey girls look I found something! Hurry get over here it’s injured.”

Here's chapter 3 finally I'm gonna have to edit this story more later cause I'm at school and this site is blocked. So I'm forced to use my phone. I'll probs make edits when I get off of work tonight. So if theres anything strange that you see you know why.
