A grey-blue unicorn stallion with a brown and yellow mane and no Cutie Mark by the name of Passion Note crawled into his bed, then looked at his watch before removing his glasses.

"Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I moved here. It seems like it was just yesterday."He said before rolling over and turning off the lights. He then looked at the ceiling and let his mind wander to that day.

It was just after sunrise when Passion had arrived in Ponyville along with a trunk he was carrying using his teeth. As soon as he stopped, he looked around. "Yes, I made it. After a long train ride and having to carry this luggage all the way from the station, I finally made it to Ponyville."He said trying to catch his breath. He then opened his trunk and began digging through it. " I can't believe just yesterday I was leaving Whinnyapolis for a change of pace and here I am."He stated as he withdrew a water bottle.

After taking a sip and placing the bottle back in the trunk, he looked around and found the residents going on with their day and paying him no mind. He sighed and continued carrying the trunk. As soon as he made it to the town hall, he stopped and knocked on the door. He soon heard a voice telling him to enter. So he opened the door, grabbed his trunk and dragged it in. He looked around and found who he presumed was the mayor, left his trunk where it was and went over to her.

"Ah, how may I help you?"The mayor asked as she looked up from her desk before looking back it. She seemed to be busy, but even though he didn't want to intrude, he did need to know how to get a house. So Passion cleared his throat and took a breath.

"Um yes, I just moved here today and I was wondering if you have any vacant homes. I know it's short notice but, you know."Passion told her. He watched as she took a quick look from her desk again and smiled. He took it as a good sign and smiled back.

"Oh ? I believe I know of one. Let me take a quick look."She said as she walked out from behind her desk. She looked at him closely and seemed to be measuring him. He laughed nervously as he waited for her to stop. She held a hoof to her chin and appeared to be thinking, before she gasped and walked into another room. All that could be heard was drawers being opened and closed. Passion looked around again and checked his watch.

As soon as she came back, she handed him a card and he looked at it. "I found the perfect spot and wrote the address down. You may go see it whenever you like."She said with a smile. Passion then looked at his trunk. "That trunk looks pretty heavy, Are you ok with dragging that all the way there?"The mayor asked.

"Oh, it's fine. I'm used to it, thank you."He answered as he grabbed his trunk again and began pulling it again. As soon as he got out the door and closed it, he began pulling the trunk. He dragged it past some ponies playing and what seemed to be a resturarant, he waved to some of the ponies waiting for food before continuing to carry the heavy trunk.

Passion had dragged it halfway before he felt the need to stop and take another sip of his water. "This would be easier if I knew the spell for levitation, I knew I should have listened to mother when she told me I would need it."He said with a shake of his head. "Then again, I haven't always been great at magic anyway, so it probably would have backfired on me."He said with a chuckle.

He then continued dragging his trunk until he got to the house mentioned on the card. He stopped and looked up at it. He found that it was a small two-story cottage. "This is perfect, now to get my trunk in."He said before grabbing and dragging it in. He stopped as soon as he got in the door and closed it. He then looked around his new home and began thinking.

"Let me think, maybe my pictures of the family can go on the fire mantle."He said before moving to where his bedroom would be. He opened the door and smiled before looking around the room. He noted the wallpaper and flooring and made a mental note about changing it. He walked over to the bed and sat down on it.

"Place my clothing in the closet, not that I have many. My reading lamp on the dresser and place a bookshelf near the bathroom."He said before leaving the room and entering the kitchen. "Pots and pans over near the back door and my water bottles near the sink. Yes, I think this will do until I get to decorating and getting more furniture."He said with a smile as he decided on his dream house.

He then went back to his trunk, opened it and began placing everything where he wanted. And once he finished, he removed his glasses and a vest that his father had packed him from the trunk and put them on. He then walked over to the mirror and looked at himself. He pulled a comb out of the trunk and combed his mane.

"Perfect, I knew keeping my glasses and vest in the trunk was the best way to keep them from getting dirty."Passion said with a nod. He looked at his watch and then looked out a window. "There's still some time, I think I'll go take a look around town and get familiar with everything."He said before opening the door. He walked out, closed the door and began his tour.

"This seems like a pretty spacious town, I'm sure it will have plenty to do. Now where to first?" He asked himself. "Perhaps get a bookshelf for my books, just to get that out of the way first."He thought. "Or do I head into the market to find something for my first dinner here?"He then asked.

"But I also need to introduce myself to as many of the residents as I can."Passion stated. Unable to make a decision, he just started walking in a random direction and hoped it would lead somewhere. Soon enough, he came upon the market and sighed in relief. "Well, that was easy."He said quietly. He walked over to a stall and saw another stallion that was selling firewood. He walked over and the stallion smiled.

"What can I do for you?"The firewood salespony asked. before placing his ax in the ground. Passion looked at the cut firewood and measured it in his mind. He walked over to it in order to get a better look and once he was finished, walked back over to his spot. He smiled and pointed his hoof at the firewood.

"Some firewood huh? Hmm."The salespony asked. Passion nodded his head. "Oh, you must be that new resident Mayor Mare was talking about. I sell firewood and I'm sure you would need some for heat."The stallion said before picking up some his cut firewood. He laid them in front of Passion and wiped some sweat off his forehead before chuckling. "Name's Burnt Oak. And if you need any more, well you know where to find me."The stallion said before resuming his cutting.

Passion gave a nod as he gave him some Bits. He then placed his newly bought firewood on a special board he brought and began walking over to the buy some produce. Once finished, he decided that was enough for the day and headed home. He entered his kitchen and began fixing his dinner. He ate and then went to his bedroom before laying down.

"Wow, my first day in Ponyville and I already met some ponies.I wonder what tomorrow will bring me?"He asked before letting sleep overtake him. Once he stopped reminiscing, The now tired Passion smiled. "And to think, things only got better the next day."He said before actually falling asleep.
