//-------------------------------------------------------// Passion Note Moves to Ponyville -by Passion Note- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1. A New Arrival //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1. A New Arrival A grey-blue unicorn stallion with a brown and yellow mane and no Cutie Mark by the name of Passion Note crawled into his bed, then looked at his watch before removing his glasses. "Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I moved here. It seems like it was just yesterday."He said before rolling over and turning off the lights. He then looked at the ceiling and let his mind wander to that day. It was just after sunrise when Passion had arrived in Ponyville along with a trunk he was carrying using his teeth. As soon as he stopped, he looked around. "Yes, I made it. After a long train ride and having to carry this luggage all the way from the station, I finally made it to Ponyville."He said trying to catch his breath. He then opened his trunk and began digging through it. " I can't believe just yesterday I was leaving Whinnyapolis for a change of pace and here I am."He stated as he withdrew a water bottle. After taking a sip and placing the bottle back in the trunk, he looked around and found the residents going on with their day and paying him no mind. He sighed and continued carrying the trunk. As soon as he made it to the town hall, he stopped and knocked on the door. He soon heard a voice telling him to enter. So he opened the door, grabbed his trunk and dragged it in. He looked around and found who he presumed was the mayor, left his trunk where it was and went over to her. "Ah, how may I help you?"The mayor asked as she looked up from her desk before looking back it. She seemed to be busy, but even though he didn't want to intrude, he did need to know how to get a house. So Passion cleared his throat and took a breath. "Um yes, I just moved here today and I was wondering if you have any vacant homes. I know it's short notice but, you know."Passion told her. He watched as she took a quick look from her desk again and smiled. He took it as a good sign and smiled back. "Oh ? I believe I know of one. Let me take a quick look."She said as she walked out from behind her desk. She looked at him closely and seemed to be measuring him. He laughed nervously as he waited for her to stop. She held a hoof to her chin and appeared to be thinking, before she gasped and walked into another room. All that could be heard was drawers being opened and closed. Passion looked around again and checked his watch. As soon as she came back, she handed him a card and he looked at it. "I found the perfect spot and wrote the address down. You may go see it whenever you like."She said with a smile. Passion then looked at his trunk. "That trunk looks pretty heavy, Are you ok with dragging that all the way there?"The mayor asked. "Oh, it's fine. I'm used to it, thank you."He answered as he grabbed his trunk again and began pulling it again. As soon as he got out the door and closed it, he began pulling the trunk. He dragged it past some ponies playing and what seemed to be a resturarant, he waved to some of the ponies waiting for food before continuing to carry the heavy trunk. Passion had dragged it halfway before he felt the need to stop and take another sip of his water. "This would be easier if I knew the spell for levitation, I knew I should have listened to mother when she told me I would need it."He said with a shake of his head. "Then again, I haven't always been great at magic anyway, so it probably would have backfired on me."He said with a chuckle. He then continued dragging his trunk until he got to the house mentioned on the card. He stopped and looked up at it. He found that it was a small two-story cottage. "This is perfect, now to get my trunk in."He said before grabbing and dragging it in. He stopped as soon as he got in the door and closed it. He then looked around his new home and began thinking. "Let me think, maybe my pictures of the family can go on the fire mantle."He said before moving to where his bedroom would be. He opened the door and smiled before looking around the room. He noted the wallpaper and flooring and made a mental note about changing it. He walked over to the bed and sat down on it. "Place my clothing in the closet, not that I have many. My reading lamp on the dresser and place a bookshelf near the bathroom."He said before leaving the room and entering the kitchen. "Pots and pans over near the back door and my water bottles near the sink. Yes, I think this will do until I get to decorating and getting more furniture."He said with a smile as he decided on his dream house. He then went back to his trunk, opened it and began placing everything where he wanted. And once he finished, he removed his glasses and a vest that his father had packed him from the trunk and put them on. He then walked over to the mirror and looked at himself. He pulled a comb out of the trunk and combed his mane. "Perfect, I knew keeping my glasses and vest in the trunk was the best way to keep them from getting dirty."Passion said with a nod. He looked at his watch and then looked out a window. "There's still some time, I think I'll go take a look around town and get familiar with everything."He said before opening the door. He walked out, closed the door and began his tour. "This seems like a pretty spacious town, I'm sure it will have plenty to do. Now where to first?" He asked himself. "Perhaps get a bookshelf for my books, just to get that out of the way first."He thought. "Or do I head into the market to find something for my first dinner here?"He then asked. "But I also need to introduce myself to as many of the residents as I can."Passion stated. Unable to make a decision, he just started walking in a random direction and hoped it would lead somewhere. Soon enough, he came upon the market and sighed in relief. "Well, that was easy."He said quietly. He walked over to a stall and saw another stallion that was selling firewood. He walked over and the stallion smiled. "What can I do for you?"The firewood salespony asked. before placing his ax in the ground. Passion looked at the cut firewood and measured it in his mind. He walked over to it in order to get a better look and once he was finished, walked back over to his spot. He smiled and pointed his hoof at the firewood. "Some firewood huh? Hmm."The salespony asked. Passion nodded his head. "Oh, you must be that new resident Mayor Mare was talking about. I sell firewood and I'm sure you would need some for heat."The stallion said before picking up some his cut firewood. He laid them in front of Passion and wiped some sweat off his forehead before chuckling. "Name's Burnt Oak. And if you need any more, well you know where to find me."The stallion said before resuming his cutting. Passion gave a nod as he gave him some Bits. He then placed his newly bought firewood on a special board he brought and began walking over to the buy some produce. Once finished, he decided that was enough for the day and headed home. He entered his kitchen and began fixing his dinner. He ate and then went to his bedroom before laying down. "Wow, my first day in Ponyville and I already met some ponies.I wonder what tomorrow will bring me?"He asked before letting sleep overtake him. Once he stopped reminiscing, The now tired Passion smiled. "And to think, things only got better the next day."He said before actually falling asleep. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2. A Pinkie Pie Party For Passion //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2. A Pinkie Pie Party For Passion Passion was walking around Ponyville when he spotted a familiar sight, Pinkie Pie throwing a party for a young filly. He waved and walked over to her. "Hello Pinkie, throwing another party?"He asked. The peppy party pony pulled out a cupcake from her mane and handed it to him. "I'll take that as a yes. Who's this one for?"He asked. The filly cleared it's throat and Passion looked at them. "Oh, it's sweet little Autumn Skye. Haven't seen you in a couple days."He said with a smile. "Thank you Mr. Note, I just got my cutie mark and Pinkie was throwing me a party, what did she call it?"Autumn asked. She paused for a second and gasped. "Oh right, a cute-ceaƱera."She said while Pinkie blew up a balloon. Passion laughed and patted her mane. Autumn pulled away a little. "Oh come on, you know I don't like that."She said a little embarrassed. "Oh I'm sorry, I just remembered the first party I had since coming to Ponyville."Passion told her. He pulled out a scrapbook and opened it. "To be honest, I didn't know what to think about it at first."He stated before Pinkie grabbed the book. "I have some time before I have to get going, why don't I tell you?"He asked. Both Autumn and Pinkie for some reason sat down. "Ok, now how did that happen? .... Oh right. It was the day after I moved here. I had gotten up and left my home when..."He started. Pinkie looked at Autumn with wide eyes and Autumn scooted away a little in response. Passion thought back to the day. It was just after sunrise when he was woken up by some of the residents' cheerings. He opened a window and rubbed his eyes. "Princess Twilight and her friends have returned."He heard a pony say with glee. The newly woken up stallion yawned. "Princess Twilight? Oh right. I forgot Ponyville had a princess residing over it."He told himself. His eyes then widen. "Oh, I almost forgot. She wasn't here yesterday."He reminded himself. He got out a vest and his glasses, put them on and left his home. "Might as well go introduce myself, but first I should go get breakfast."He said with another yawn as he grabbed his bag. He set off to start the day. He stopped by a food cart, paid for an apple and took a bite of it. "Ok, getting food in my stomach."He said before taking another bite. "Then again, she is a princess and is probably busy. I shouldn't bother her."He said before taking yet another bite. "Of course, as a new resident, I should meet her. It's just common sense."He stated finishing the apple. "Oh oh, we're about to get to the good part." Pinkie said cutting off the story. Passion shook his head and looked at her. "Oh, Sorry."Pinkie apologized. Passion continued the story. He had walked away after finishing the apple and pulled out a book from his bag and started reading. He didn't make it very far as he soon bumped into a familiar pony. "Oh sorry."He apologized. He put the book aside and found Pinkie's face a few inches from his. "I knew it, Mayor Mare and Burnt Oak told me there was a new pony in Ponyville. Now I can sing you my special welcome song."She said bouncing up and down. Passion started to back away when he was stopped. "Don't go silly, if you do I won't be able to throw you a welcome party."She said getting serious out of nowhere. "You just said you wanted to sing me a song, now you want to throw me a party? Are you crazy?"Passion asked in disbelief. He then continued to back away, but slowly and not taking his eyes off of her. As he was afraid that doing so would cause her to continue. "Jury's out on that, but come on. A party would be super duper fun."She continued. She grabbed a piece of paper and a pen out of nowhere and began writing things down on it. "Now, what is your favorite food, dessert, flowers, and color?"She asked. Passion thought about it for a second. "Pineapples, lemon pie, roses and I guess blue." He answered. "But I don't see what this has to do with a party."He replied. Pinkie continued writing, seemingly not noticing that last sentence. "Anything else?"He asked. Pinkie didn't respond and handed him a note before leaving. He looked at it and read it. "Come to Sweet Apple Acres at sunset, Pinkie Pie."He said before looking up. "I don't even know where that is."He said exasperatedly. He frowned. "I think this confirms it, she is crazy."He told himself. He looked at the note once more before carrying with his day. "Now, to find the princess. It would be easier if there was a castle."He said looking around. "Yeah, like there would be a castle in a small town like this one. I'm funny."He said with a chuckle. He stopped at a tree and sat under it. "I guess I should ask one of the ponies here."He said before getting up. He walked a little bit before coming across a pony. "Excuse me, does the princess happen to live in a castle? And if so, where is that? He asked. The pony pulled out a map and pointed to a structure on it and then pointed behind them. "That way? Thank you."He said giving the pony a Bit and walked away. He finally arrived at the castle and knocked. When he got no answer, he looked around. "Huh, I guess no one is home. And it's not sunset yet. So I guess I'll just head home until."He said giving up. He walked home and let himself in. "How strange that the princess wasn't at her home. Assuming that pony was correct."He said a little confused. He stayed home until the sun started to set and he set out again, this time to find Sweet Apple Acres. "Wow, I didn't know you had no idea how to get anywhere. If I had, I would have given you a map. Then again, I think Gummy might have eaten all of mine."Pinkie said interrupting the story again. Both Passion and Autumn looked at her. "Sorry."She apologized. Passion continued the story again. He had finally gotten directions to Sweet Apple Acres and arrived, what he saw there was amazing. The barn was covered in blue roses and banners hanging all over the place. Passion was left speechless as he walked over. "Wow."He said trying to find the right words. "Welcome to Ponyville, Passion Note!!"She and the other attendees said in unison. Pinkie hurried Passion over to a table and gave him a cupcake. He looked at it and then back up at them. Pinkie pulled out a cupcake of her own and ate it in one bite. He shrugged and ate his cupcake before being given a present. He opened it and inside was a map of Ponyville. "Mayor Mare was supposed to give this to you yesterday, but I guess she forgot."Twilight said. She also gave him a couple of books and smiled. "These are a couple of books from my personal collection, you might have good use of them."She said looking excited. "Thank you, um. Princess right?"Passion asked. She smiled again and he looked at the books. "A Beginner's Guide to Magic. And, Notetaking for You?"He asked after reading the titles. She grinned nervously. "Thank you, I'll cherish them."He said as he set them aside. "Now, LET'S PARTY!!"Pinkie yelled. The other laughed and ushered Passion over to play some games. The stallion started having more fun than he had since moving, and considering that it had only been one day since. That was saying a lot. After that party, Passion said goodnight to Twilight, Pinkie, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rarity, and Rainbow before heading home. He laid down in his bed, removed his glasses and looked up the ceiling. "Wow, crazy and a great party thrower. I think I know who to count on when I'm bored."He said giggling before letting sleep take him. After finishing the story, He looked at Pinkie and Autumn. "Wow, Pinkie really is the best party thrower in Equestria."She said with a laugh. Passion smiled and gave a nod in agreement. "Come on, let's go have some more fun. I'll race you two to the park."She replied, getting into a running position. "You are on, last one there has to buy the winner twenty cupcakes."Pinkie said getting ready too. Passion opened his mouth in horror, but he got into position nonetheless. "Don't worry, I'll split you the bill if you lose Passion."She said with a giggle. He groaned and shook his head. "On your mark."Autumn said. Passion and Pinkie looked straight ahead. "Get set."She added. She gave herself a headstart. "GO!!"She yelled. The two behind her ran as fast as they could to catch up. "HEY, NO HEADSTARTS!!"The two yelled at once. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3. A Frantic Favor for Rarity //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3. A Frantic Favor for Rarity Passion woke up and let out a yawn. "Good morning Ponyville."He said to himself, He got out of bed, went into his kitchen and fixed himself some breakfast. Once he was done, he put on his vest and glasses, opened his door and walked out. After closing the door, he looked down at his hooves and noticed a letter. He used magic to lift it off the ground and looked at it more closely. "To Passion Note."He read. He opened the letter and read it silently. "Oh. Oh dear."He said with a hint of anxiety. Without another word, he bolted into town. He ran all the way to Carousel Boutique before stopping to catch his breath. "Wow, need to remember to stretch before running in the morning."He said gasping for air. He looked at the door of the boutique and saw a sign saying it was open. So without wasting time, he opened the door and walked in. As he closed the door, he noticed Rarity working on a dress. He cleared his throat getting her attention. She stopped working on the dress and looked at him. "Oh dear, Passion Note. You look a mess. Tell me what has happened."She instructed. He walked over to her and placed the letter on her sewing table. She picked it up and looked at it. "A letter, what is wrong with receiving a letter?"She asked not quite getting it yet. Passion was visibly trembling and pointed his hoof at the letter in question. "Read it and then you will understand."He said taking a seat and using his hoof to wipe off his glasses. She looked at the letter once again and began to read it. "Dear big brother, I will be visiting Ponyville to visit you and see how you are doing. I can't wait to hear all about the adventures you must have had. Are you excited? I bet you are. So am I. Love your little sister, Coda Epistle." She read out loud. She looked back at Passion and saw him trying to calm himself. "Oh my, your little sister is visiting and you are worried. But why would that be?"She asked. She handed the letter back to him and continued working on her dress. He placed the letter in one of his vest's pockets and sighed. "It's just, it's been several months since I moved here and well. I haven't exactly had as many adventures as she thinks. And I'm worried she'll find me boring."He started to explain. He then started pacing in the room. "I mean, yes there have been some things I've done that you would call an "adventure." But compared to what I've heard the townsfolk say you and the others have done. Mine don't really compare."He finished with his explanation. "Passion darling, I am sure your little sister won't care about that. I think she would just want to hear about you've done."Rarity told him as she stopped her work to get up. She walked over to a chest and opened it. "I overheard you talking to Pinkie Pie and Autumn Skye yesterday and I found that story particularly wonderful. And I believe your sister would too."She said as she dug through it. She pulled out some black fabric, walked back over to her sewing machine and placed the fabric under the machine. "Now, while you decide on what adventurous story to tell her. I shall make you a new suit, so that you may look presentable while you do so."She said before turning on the machine. "Thank you."He said with a smile. He then started thinking. "Huh, you know that kind of reminds me of what happened when I first visited you."He added. He thought back to the day, it was the day after his welcome party and he was just leaving his home. He had noticed a hole in his vest and was worried. Seeing as it was the only vest he owned and he didn't have the Bits to buy a new one. "It must have happened during the party and I didn't even realize it. What should I do?"He asked. He then remembered that one of Pinkie's friends owned her own boutique and that maybe she could fix it up for him. So he took off for it. Once he arrived, he noticed the door was open and he walked in. He knocked on the wall and looked around. "Um, Miss Rarity? Are you here?"He asked. He heard noises coming from upstairs and went to investigate. As he drew nearer to the origin of the noises, he stopped. It was a door labeled Fabric Room. He knocked on the door, waited a few minutes and walked in. He saw nothing that looked out of place. That was until he looked over by the window and saw Rarity adjusting a mannequin. He cleared his throat and she looked at him. He waved and she stopped what she was doing. "Is there a problem?"He asked. "Yes, I've run out of important fabric that is essential for a client's order and I haven't the time to go buy more."She explained. She walked over to a closet, opened it and took out some swatches of fabric, then walked back over to the mannequin and tried to take some measurements. "I can go get the fabric if you need me to."He offered. She stopped again, walked over to him. She looked at him for a few minutes before placing some Bits in one of the pockets of his vest and placing a note in another pocket. She walked back over to the mannequin yet again and he sighed. He quickly left the boutique and wandered towards the market. He looked around for a stall selling fabric and after several minutes of looking, gave up. "This isn't good. I need to get her fabric for her, but I can't find anyone selling that."He said to himself as he was about ready to go back. He then stopped and started pondering. "If I can't find the fabric, I could use magic to make some. Then again, I am not so good at magic and I don't even know if there is a spell for that. I could ask Rarity where she got the fabric and go buy it there. But what if it's far away and I don't get back in time."He said to himself. He pulled out the note and looked at it. "This is the fabric she needs."He said. After looking at the note again, he gasped. "Wait. this fabric. Isn't this."He started before cutting himself off. He ran back to his home, entered his bedroom, opened his closet and looked through it. He grabbed something, used his magic to carry it and ran back to Carousel Boutique and back to where Rarity was. She looked at him and placed the item on the floor in front of her. "What is this? Some sort of suit by the looks of it."She said a tad confused. Passion smiled and placed the note she had given to him next to the suit. A faint smiled appeared and she grabbed the suit. "This is the exact type of fabric I needed. How?"She asked. "It was my father's. He must have packed it in my trunk before I moved here without my knowing and I wasn't going to actually wear it anyway. But I did remember him telling me about this fabric that it was made of and I knew what to do."He explained. "Honestly, I don't know why it didn't dawn on me sooner. But you can use the suit to make more of the fabric and complete your order now."He said. Rarity gave a nod and went over to a pair of scissors. "Oh thank you Passion Note, thank you. Now to get to work. And once I am done, I'll make repair your vest for you."She said graciously. She started snipping at the suit and Passion looked at his vest. "Oh, I didn't even tell you about my vest needing a repair, did I?"He asked. She pointed to the hole in his vest and smiled. "But I guess, I didn't need to. Thank you Rarity."He said with a sigh of relief. Passion heard the sound of a machine stop and was brought back to the present. "Hmm, not sure that is quite the adventure my little sister would like to hear."He said out loud. Rarity looked at him and handed him the newly finished suit. He took it, walked over to the mirror and held it over his body to see. "I can't decide for you. But I think that one would do for her. You helped me when I needed it most. She would be proud of that. I am sure of it."She said as she placed a bowtie on the front. He placed the suit on his back and handed her some Bits. "I agree. Now to go get my home ready for her visit."He said as he walked over to the door and opened it. He smiled and walked out, closing the door behind him. Rarity smiled herself. "I know all too well how it feels to want to impress your sibling. You'll do wonderfully." //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4. Running with Rainbow //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4. Running with Rainbow Passion Note was at the market, looking around for a gift to buy for the visit of his little sister: Coda Epistle. "I don't know about this one."He said holding up a snowglobe. He placed it back down and walked over to a different stall. He looked at the wares and noticed a lone kite sitting up on a shelf. "Hmm, we could go fly a kite."He pondered. "Yeah, but I think Starlight would appreciate this more. I'll keep this in mind for later."He decided. He walked over to a stall and was looking at its wares when he felt a sudden tap and jumped slightly into the air due to the surprise. He looked behind him and saw Rainbow Dash hovering behind him ."Geez Rainbow, that almost scared me to bits."He said with a firm tone. "Sorry, I saw you looking all contemplative and figured I pulled a prank. Wasn't as funny as I thought."She explained. She landed on the ground and looked at the stall too. "What are you doing anyway?"She asked. "Trying to find a gift for my sister when she visits. I'd do it later, but I have no idea when she would be visiting."He explained. He picked up a book and looked at the title. "Hmm, not sure she would be a fan of Daring Do. But maybe she'd like a nice necklace from the stall over there."He said as he placed the book down and walked over to another stall. "First, Daring Do is always a good gift. Second, why are you thinking so hard about this? I'm sure if I had a sister, she would be thrilled to have anything that I bought her."Rainbow told him. He looked back with an eyebrow raised and she looked back. "What?"She asked. "Scootaloo."He answered before looking at more necklaces. He picked up one with green emeralds and a nice pink heart and put it down. "Nah, too color clashing."He said without a thought. He then stopped for a second and shook his head. "Whoa, had a Rarity moment there."He said "Sure, you could call Scoots my sister. But I meant an actual little sister."She said looking up at the clouds. "You know, that kind of reminds me of that race you and I had during your first week of moving here."She said after a split second of thinking. Passion knew where this was going and started thinking back to the day. It was a rainy day and Passion had been sitting inside his home enjoying some soup when a knock came at his door. He got up and went to answer it. "Who's there?"He asked. He could hear muffled voices behind the door and recognized one of them was Dash. "Hey, Passion. I don't think you should be staying indoors during such an awesome rain storm like today's."She said. Passion shook his head. "I don't really like the rain. It fogs up my glasses and makes it hard to see."He told her without opening the door. He listened to the door and overheard the second voice talking to her. This one he didn't know at all. And so he opened the door and looked outside. He then quickly looked down and saw an orange pegasus filly who was standing next to Rainbow. "Uh, hi."He said. The filly smiled and he sighed. Rainbow was busy looking up at the rain clouds to notice. "So, you're the new guy that Rainbow Dash told me about?"The filly asked. She looked at him again and took a walk around him just to make sure. He laughed in awkwardness and she smiled again. Without a word, Rainbow Dash flew up to the rain clouds and started clearing them. The two on the ground watched and when she was done, she came back down to the door and grinned. "Now that I've taken care of that, Scootaloo said she wanted to meet you. So I brought her over."She explained. "Yeah, I wanted to see if you wanted to race."She said bursting with energy out of nowhere. The stallion in front of them thought about it for a second before closing his door. As the two looked at each other in confusion, the door opened again. He was now wearing a sweatband and missing his vest but had put on a watch. "Wow, totally did not expect that," Scootaloo said slightly surprised. He looked at his watch and then back at them. He gave a quick nod and took off running. "Hey, we haven't even decided on the location."She said running after him with Rainbow close behind. She finally caught up to him at Sugarcube Corner and he leaned against the building, a little proud of his accomplishment. "That was only part one. Now we can begin the real race."He said as Rainbow showed up. He pointed to a tree in the distance. "First one to run to that tree wins the race."He said. Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash looked for the tree and found it was near Sweet Apple Acres. They looked at each other, smiled and looked back at him. "What?"He asked. "No problem, I'll be there and back before you both can even move an inch,"Rainbow said as she got into position. Passion shook his head and smiled. She looked at him in slight confusion and his horn started glowing. There was nothing she could do as he summoned some rope out from behind him and tied her wings to body. "Just so you can't fly there and back while we run."He said. He got into position and so did Scootaloo. Rainbow reluctantly did as well. "Fair enough, I guess."She replied. "3...2... 1...GO!!"All three said together as they counted down. They each took off and somehow went into different directions in order to take different paths. Passion went straight, while Scootaloo went left and Rainbow went right. At first, Passion wasn't sure how this made sense, but let it go in order to focus on the race. He passed by some houses before seeing Rainbow trailing ahead. She looked back at him and waved before running faster. He sighed and picked up speed. He soon passed by a theater performance being put on and saw Scootaloo as well. She looked back at him and he noticed that she was behind him. He stopped for a few seconds in order to let her catch up before continuing to run. Soon, all three had left Ponyville and were approaching the tree. But Passion had one more trick up his sleeve. he used magic to force his watch and sweatband off his head in order to lessen his weight and gain some speed. And it worked, if only slightly as there wasn't much he had on at the time. He looked around and saw both Rainbow and Scootaloo right next to him as the tree was fast approaching. As the final few feet of the race came, they each dove in order to touch the tree first and they collided with, not only each other but the tree itself. When the dust cleared, they were all touching the tree and so it was a tie. "That was so much fun,"Scootaloo said jumping into the air. "Yeah, I admit, I may have been going easy on you two. But that was awesome."Rainbow said as she helped a slightly dizzy Passion onto his hooves. He cleared his head a little and smiled. "Yes, yes it was."He said before shaking hooves with both of them. Just then, he heard Rainbow's voice calling him back to the present and he looked at her. She smiled and held up a toy piano. "While you were spacing out, I grabbed this for you."She said. He took it and inspected it. "This is perfect, thank you."He said graciously. She smiled and touched his horn. He gasped, right before she took off. He placed the toy piano in one of his vest's pockets and took off after her. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 6. Fluttershy and a Casual Capriccio //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 6. Fluttershy and a Casual Capriccio It was a beautiful day in Ponyville and Fluttershy was in town looking for Passion Note because he had requested to talk to her the day before and she had forgotten until this moment. "I'm not sure where he lives. Oh dear."She said before feeling a tap on her shoulder. She turned and saw it was Sweetie Belle who was holding a carrot that Fluttershy had dropped. "Oh thank you."She said as she took the vegetable. She placed it in her bag and continued to walk. "Where are you going?"Sweetie Belle asked. Fluttershy continued to look around. "Fluttershy?"Sweetie asked. It was clear that the pegasus was determined to complete her goal and Sweetie Belle wasn't sure what to do. Fluttershy stopped and so did Sweetie. "I'm trying to find where Mr. Passion Note lives. He asked me to see him for something and I forgot about it until today. Do you know where he lives?"She asked. Sweetie thought about it for a second before giving a nod. She took off and Fluttershy followed behind. She then led her to Passion's house and the two stopped. Just as they were about to walk up to the door, they heard something coming from the backyard. So they walked over quietly and as they got closer, they distinguished that it was a stallion singing. As they fully entered the backyard, they saw Passion sitting on the ground with a quill pen and a piece of paper humming something. "Yes, we will always be. You know we will be. Don't despair and just cheer?"He sang before stopping to write. "No, that won't work."He said. He stopped as he looked up and saw the two standing there. He placed his pen down and got up. "Uh, hi."He said clearly embarrassed. "Oh wow, Passion. I didn't know you could sing."Sweetie Belle with a huge smile on her. Passion laughed slightly and he adjusted his glasses. "Come to think about it. I don't know much about you and you've been in Ponyville for. What is it?"She started before stopping to think. "I can't. I mean, not very well. At least not as well as Fluttershy."He said in response. Fluttershy smiled and laughed a little. "What did you need by the way? I'm sure you two didn't come here just to hear me."He asked. The two looked at each other and paused before Fluttershy shook her head. "Oh right, I was going to help you pick out a pet for the next Ponyville Pet Festival."She said. Passion Note thought about it for a second before gasping, clearly remembering it now. Before they could continue, Sweetie Belle stopped them. "Who wants to talk about pets at a time like this? I want to hear Passion sing some more."She said much to his further embarrassment. He walked over and placed his hoof on her head. "What?"She asked. "How about a story about when I first saw the Pony-Tones?"He asked. She took the bait and a seat. He went back to his pen and paper and Fluttershy sat next to Sweetie Belle, clearly wanting to hear how he recalled it. He let his mind wander to that day. It was the day after his visit to Sweet Apple Acres and he was in the market to pick up more ink for his quill pen. He was just finishing up with his purchase when he heard singing in the background. Seeing as his shopping was done, he decided to follow the singing and came across a stage set up and saw five ponies in the background. As he got closer, he saw it was Fluttershy, Rarity, Big Mac and two others that he didn't know. "That was great Pony-Tones. I think we are ready for our performance."Rarity said before getting a sip of water. Passion got closer, which drew her attention. "Oh Passion Note, how nice of you to see our rehearsal. Sadly, we're almost done."She said making him stop. Fluttershy looked at him and raised a wing as she thought about something. Without warning, she walked over to Rarity and whispered something into her ear who continued to nod throughout. Passion looked at Big Mac who shrugged. 'I agree."Rarity finally said. She said something to the two unknown ponies who proceeded to walk behind Passion and push him onto the stage. "Uh, what?"He asked. Fluttershy smiled and walked over to him. Rarity looked at Big Mac and winked at him who then looked at Passion as if he somehow understood what was going on. "How would you like to try a song?"Fluttershy asked. Passion shook his head. "Oh, you can't sing?"She asked. He shook his head again. "I'm sure you could if you gave it a try."She told him. He stopped to think for a minute. "You don't have to be afraid. I used to be, but with some help from Rarity and my friends. I started to overcome my fear and now I love it."She explained. "If you don't feel comfortable with it. How about trying some baby steps?"She asked. Passion looked at the other Pony-Tones before giving a nod of approval. "Ok, Big Mac?"She said looking at Big Mac. He started making some noises with his voice and Passion covered his eyes with a hoof before opening his mouth. "All around. All around."He began singing quietly. Big Mac looked at Fluttershy and Rarity before looking back at him ."All around this land I know. You may find."He continued singing quietly before raising his hoof a little away from his eyes. "You may find a new friend waiting for you. In the east or in the west."He continued as he completely removed his hoof and walked to the front of the stage. The Pony-ones began harmonizing behind him and he continued. "In Equestria, ponies know that the greatest joy in life. Is the one who shares all your hope and brings you to new heights."Passion continued singing, but now he activated a levitation spell to raise him slightly in the air, to the amusement of Rarity and Fluttershy. "Even if you feel sad and even if you feel angry. know that you will always have a friend. One that is always true."He sang, this time his voice getting louder. To the point that other ponies started taking notice. "Look all around you and look inside your heart. Never give up and never let others down. Because after all."He sang before lowering himself back onto the stage. "You know your friends ."He sang looking down. "Won't let you."He finished his song looking up at the crowd of ponies that gathered. The ponies began clapping their hooves together and Passion felt a small blush creep onto his face and he smiled before turning around and walking behind the curtain. "That was wonderful. Wasn't it, Pony-Tones?"Fluttershy asked. They nodded their heads in agreement. "If that was a baby step, imagine what you could do with training."She added. He laughed in nervousness and wiped some sweat off his forehead. "But of course, only if you want."She said realizing that he may not be ready for that. He gave a nod and proceeded to go on with his day. He was brought back to the present by the sound of Sweetie Belle clapping. "Wow, that was some story. And I liked the song."She said. Passion then realized that he had also sung the song while telling his story and laughed slightly. Fluttershy laughed with him. "But, why haven't you joined the Pony-Tones?"She asked. He and Fluttershy looked at each other and laughed a little louder. "Huh?"She asked. Fluttershy placed her hoof on Sweetie's head. "Because Passion Note said that he didn't feel that singing was what he liked doing, we agreed and said that we were fine with it because he was."She explained. She got up and placed her bag back on her back. Sweetie Belle then noticed that he didn't have a Cutie Mark and smiled. "I can see what you mean. But thank you for the story Passion. I can't wait to hear Rarity tell me it too."She said getting off the ground. "Tell her I said hi. Now I really need to finish writing this song."He said before grabbing his pen. Sweetie Belle said goodbye and walked away. And Fluttershy decided to leave as well, but not before promising to see Passion about the Pet Festival some other day. Passion waved goodbye and smiled. "You'd think after improvising that song on the spot, that I could write one. But..."He said before actually going back to it. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 7. Starlight and a Simple Day //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 7. Starlight and a Simple Day It was evening in Ponyville when Passion Note was seen running through the town square, using his magic to levitate a telescope and carrying a bag on his back instead of his usual vest. That was until he collided face-first with Starlight Glimmer. He was sent backward and onto the ground while his magic failed and his telescope fell to the ground with him. "Ow, that hurt."He said once the shock from the collision wore off. He shook his head to make sure nothing was broken and looked up to see Starlight offering her hoof. He took it and she helped him get back on his hooves. "Why were you running so fast? I almost thought you were Rainbow Dash. ...Ok, no I didn't. But still."She asked. She helped recollect some of the papers that spilled out of his bag. He took them and placed them back into the bag. "I found out from Twilight that there is a rare meteor shower happening on the outskirts of Ponyville tonight and I wanted to document some of them for a uh... project. That's um...coming up."He said trying oh so hard to keep it secret. But it was to no avail as Starlight figured it out almost immediately. "You want to document the meteor shower for your family, so when they come to visit, you can give it as a gift. And if I have to guess a particular family member, it's for your father, considering how you told Twilight his Cutie Mark IS a meteor shower."She said just as she finished picking up the papers. Passion looked defeated and gave a slight nod before placing the papers in the bag. "You are good."He said as he closed it up and activated his levitation to once again pick up his telescope. He started walking and Starlight decided to follow. "You're not going to believe what happened yesterday. Fluttershy and Sweetie Belle came by my home and I had to recall when I first sang here in town. Then afterward, Sweetie noticed I don't have a Cutie Mark. And she gave me a look too, not sure I liked it."He told her. "I can imagine she was excited to have another client for the CMC."Starlight replied. She stopped for a second before continuing her walking. "Oh right, you haven't actually met them while they were on business."She said after realizing it. He shook his head no and she smiled. "Probably for the best, I heard their idea for a camp got a little chaotic thanks to Rumble."She said before removing a branch out of the way. Once they arrived at the outskirts, they noticed that other ponies had gathered for the meteor shower. "Awesome, now to get my equipment ready for documentation."Passion said before digging through his supplies. "Heh, does this make you remember when we first met?"He asked Starlight. She gave a nod and began to think back to the day. It was the day after Passion had sung with the Pony-Tones and Starlight had been running a few errands for Twilight. She was on her way back to the castle when she bumped into something. This something was, of course, Passion Note. "Sorry."He apologized before looking away from his paper. "It's fine. Wasn't looking where I was going."She said. She then looked at him again. "I don't believe we've met before. I'm Starlight Glimmer. Twilight's student."She said offering a hoof. He looked at it and then at her before smiling. He shook her hoof and put away his paper. "Passion Note, just moved here. About... five days ago, I want to say."He said as he introduced himself. He looked at her more closely. "Wait, Aren't you the pony who.."He started before being cut off. "Brainwashed an entire village to give up their cutie marks. Then traveled in time to try to get revenge on Twilight only to become her student? Yes. But I've moved on."She said almost on instinct. He raised a brow and smiled. "I was going to say made that awesome kite which was on display that I saw at the market earlier."He said correcting her. She laughed in embarrassment and he chuckled. "It's fine, we all have bad days. But I'm more interested in the time you saved Twilight and all of Equestria from Queen Chrysalis."He said before pulling out a piece of paper and a quill. "Well you shouldn't be. But I will tell you about the time I helped a pony with a magic act invovling a manticore that swallowed said pony."She replied. His jaw opened and he began nodding. She offered her hoof again and he accepted it. Then the two started walking as she began to tell the story. The two stopped by the castle so Starlight could drop off her errands and then the two went all over Ponyville. First, they stopped by the cafe. "Then Coda came out of her room being chased by Parasprites with my mother chasing after her with the net. And, My father through all of this is..."Passion said in the middle of a story. Starlight was visibly trying to hold back laughter. Then they went to the market where they looked at music boxes. "Reminds me of the time that Sunburst and I tried hiding in a Nightmare Night wagon and got trapped inside a haunted house. Looking back, it was all really fake."She said before pointing at some fireworks. Passion laughed as if he could see it in his mind. "Oh, that reminds me."She started. "The time that I tried to use magic to cook a..."She continued before stopping. "Oh nevermind."She said. Next, they went to a furniture store where Passion laid on a couch and Starlight held up a mirror for him to look at. "Who am I darling?"He asked before letting out a huge laugh which caught the attention of the salespony. Starlight laughed a little before leaving an apology note and the two ran out. Finally, the two went to Zecora's hut for a bit of fun at potion making. "I forgot what I was supposed to add to this mixture."Starlight said quietly so Zecora wouldn't hear. Passion shrugged and Starlight added in the first thing she found which caused a huge pink bubble to sprout from the cauldron. "I do not know what you have done. But my advice to the both of you is to run."Zecora stated with a worried look. The two frowned as the zebra tried to fix it and they decided to help. Starlight grabbed a huge jar while Passion fetched a big bowl. Once they were eventually done, the two left her hut and walked through the Everfree Forest. "Wow, that was fun."Passion said before letting out a yawn. He didn't hear a reply, so he looked back and saw it was getting late. He smiled and she smiled back. The two began racing each other to get out of the forest. Eventually, a winner was crowned and it was Starlight. "I haven't had a day like that in so long. Well, except for the ones with Trixie. "Starlight said trying to catch her breath. Passion looked at his watch and realized what time it was. She looked at the watch too and gasped. "I better get back to Twilight, almost forgot I have another lesson with her."She said. "Ok, have fun."He said waving. She waved back and ran off. Starlight was brought back to the present by Passion's poking of his hoof. "The meteor shower is starting."He said pointing up. She looked up before helping him get out some water. He started looking through his telescope while simultaneously writing on his paper. "You had a busy week that first one, huh?"She asked. He looked at her, gave a quick nod and smiled before going back to his telescope. "So did I."She stated. "And there was still two days left."He replied as he then started drawing some pictures of the meteor shower. Starlight watched on and wondered exactly what happened. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 8. Teaching with Twilight //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 8. Teaching with Twilight It was midday in Ponyville when Passion Note arrived at Twilight's castle with a cake that he had baked with Pinkie's help. He knocked on the door and was surprised when it opened. He walked in and headed directly for the map room. As soon as he reached the doors, he heard something happening inside, so he stopped. He leaned in and started listening. Well as much as he could, because shortly after leaning onto the doors, they opened and he went falling onto the ground. He looked up and saw Twilight and Apple Bloom with a potion bottle. "Oh Passion, sorry. I heard someone behind the door and I must have used the spell too suddenly."Twilight apologized. He got up, dusted himself and looked at the cake. It had become a mess and his ears drooped in sadness. "Sorry about that too. It looked delicious."She said before walking over. He perked up a little and looked at Apple Bloom who was still working on her potion. "Huh, I heard about that, but never saw it until now."He said. He thought about it for a second, but it was interrupted by the sounds of Apple Bloom throwing an ingredient into her bottle. Right after, Apple Bloom picked up the bottle and showed it to him. "What do you think?"She asked. He stared at the bottle, swished it a little and then gave it back to her. The color changed from white to green and she began adding more ingredients. "I wonder what would happen if I added more instead of less."She said with a slightly interesting smile. She then picked up a feather and began stirring the potion with it. "I know it said to use a pegasus feather, but I chose to use a chicken feather instead."She explained. Passion looked away from her and at Twilight. "Bad time?"He asked. Twilight shook her head and lead him to a seat so he could watch. "Does this happen regularly or am I just lucky today?"He asked. Twilight rolled her eyes and gave him a potion bottle. He stared at it confused. "You want to give it a try? You haven't really done it since that you day you visited me for the first time."She said before thinking back on it. It was a simple morning and Twilight was busy reorganizing some catalogs when she heard the front doors of the castle open. "Come on in, I'm in the library."She said before realizing that whoever it was couldn't hear her. So she activated a spell that amplified her voice and repeated it. For many minutes afterward, she heard random noises. Most of which consisted of crashing into walls and doors opening and closing. That is, until she heard the library doors open and she looked back to see Passion standing there, slightly out of breath and panting. "Have you ever considered a directory or maybe even some guards to help strangers navigate this place?"He asked. "Funny, you are not the first to ask me that. Nor the twentieth."Twilight replied before getting up. Passion walked over and sat down. He looked around the library and noticed a strange looking mirror before his attention was brought back to Twilight by her clearing her throat. "What did you need Passion?"She asked. "Oh right, I heard from Starlight that you teach her magic and I was wondering if you would help me with that as well."He explained. She looked at him with a puzzled look before jumping up in excitement. His mouth opened to say something but he was stopped when she began using her magic to pull numerous books out of shelves. "I have someone else to teach. I mean, teaching Starlight is great. But nothing challenges her anymore and it's been forever since the CMC came for Twilight Time. So this will be just the thing I need."She said as he placed books onto the table, one after another. "What should we start with? Invisibility? No, how about Speed Reading? Even better than that... I could teach you how to insert yourself into a book for even easier studying."She said looking even more excited. "I was thinking we could start with advanced levitation and then move onto a spell that would allow me to fix things that are broken."Passion said clearly speechless from Twilight's excitement. Twilight looked at the table and then back at him before placing the books back on the shelves with a slightly embarrassed smile. "Or we could do that. That works too."She said in response. "Although I must warn you, the latter isn't something that can be easily taught. Not many unicorns have a talent for repairing things with magic."She continued. He gave a nod in understanding and she went over to a bookshelf and pulled out a book before placing it on the table. "This contains the spell for advanced levitation. Let's get started."She said. Passion walked over to the book, looked at it and then lowered his head to begin performing the spell. "What should I try this out on?"He asked. Twilight scanned the room for something before noticing an unused bookshelf that she needed to install. She pointed to it and he aimed. Slowly, the bookshelf began rising off the ground. "Yes."He said quietly. But just as he said that, the bookshelf fell onto the ground. "Maybe something a little easier?"She asked. He shook his head and began casting the spell again. This time the bookshelf began rising a little faster and he moved it slightly to the left before it fell again. "That was progress, I think. Let's keep at it."She said. Passion tried again, this time making the bookshelf rise higher and he moved it back to its original spot before lowering it. "Ok, I think that's as good as you are going to get, for now, let's move onto the repair spell. But first, we need something broken that we can use as a test subject."She said before scanning the room again. She noticed a broken picture frame and smiled. He glanced at it, walked over to the book, read the spell and began casting the spell on the picture frame. "What you want to do is fit the pieces into place and then hold them together for a few seconds and the spell should be complete."She instructed. He gave a nod and began moving the frame's pieces into place before using his magic to hold them together. He did so for about twenty seconds before stopping. He and Twilight walked over to the picture frame and each tapped it once. But as soon as they did, the frame came apart. "Well, you did warn me that it wasn't the easiest spell to learn. I'll try again."He said before casting the spell once again. This time, he moved the pieces around differently and once he found a shape he liked, he held the pieces together for a good minute and a half before stopping the spell. "Now, did it work this time?"He asked before tapping the frame. But it too came undone and he sighed in slight frustration. "I am not giving up. One more time."He said before casting the spell again, this time feeling angry. He formed the frame again and held it together for an unbelievable ten minutes before stopping the spell. He walked over to the frame and poked it. At first, it seemed to be sticking, but a few seconds later, it came apart and he sat down in exhaustion. "Do you want to try a different spell? I have one that is great for documenting swarms of insects."Twilight asked. He shook his head and walked back over to the book and turned the page. He saw a spell that he liked and went into another room. "Hey, where did you go?"She asked once she amplified her voice. A bright light flashed, and so Twilight covered her eyes with a hoof. When the light vanished, she lowered her hoof to see Passion there, looking slightly dazed. "I tried a teleportation spell and I think I got it."He said before passing out. Eventually, he woke up to find himself in a bed. He rose and looked around, spotting Twilight watching him. "Good, you are awake and ok. I should have warned you that teleportation isn't exactly a spell for beginners."She said. He laughed and she couldn't help but laugh too. She was brought back to the present by hearing Apple Bloom squeal in delight. "I did it Twi, I made the potion exactly like you said."She exclaimed. She showed the potion to both Twilight and Passion. "I will never get tired of seeing what I make."She added. Both of them laughed quietly. "She didn't make it exactly, but it's the thought that counts,"Twilight said whispering. Passion nodded his head and picked up his cake using magic. "Sorry again, but come back with another cake and I'll try it then."She said. He shook his head in amusement and left the room. "I wonder how Pinkie will take this."He said slightly worried. //-------------------------------------------------------// Final Chapter. A Time to Celebrate //-------------------------------------------------------// Final Chapter. A Time to Celebrate It was a beautiful sunny afternoon when Passion Note stepped out of his house to go to the train station. As he arrived, he found The Mane Six and Starlight were there already. "Oh, there you are Passion. We came to help you welcome your family."Twilight told him. He tiled his head in confusion. She smiled and he walked over. "I even asked Pinkie Pie to throw a party for them at the castle once they arrive."She stated. One look at Pinkie and it was clear that she was excited about it. "That and we didn't really have anything else to do,"Rainbow added. "And by that I mean we got most of our things done in the morning so."She continued. And so, it was decided that the group would wait for the train together, Passion started thinking back to what happened on his seventh day since he moved to Ponyville. It was a cloudy but not rainy morning and he was sleeping in his bed when his woken up by knocking on his door. He got out of his bed, put on his glasses and a clean jacket and went to the door. When he opened it, he noticed a card and so he picked it up. Taking a glance at it, he realized it was in Twilight's writing. "Hello Passion Note, it's been a week since you moved here hasn't it? Well, come to Sweet Apple Acres for a special surprise."He read. Seeing as he had nothing to do, he decided to go. After making sure he looked awake, he set off. Upon arriving at Sweet Apple Acres, he notices balloons, banners and various other party stuff that reminded him of the party Pinkie threw him. When he finally entered the farm, he noticed the Mane Six, Starlight, Scootaloo, Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle huddled together. He quickly figured out what it was about but carried on anyway as to not ruin anything. He walked closer and they turned to him. "SURPRISE!!"They yelled together. A banner opened and on it, the words "Happy One Week Moving Anniversary" were written. He rolled his eyes in amusement and joined them. "I told you he would love it. I bet he'll love the cake even more."Pinkie said as he reached them. She showed him the cake and it was his favorite: Double Strawberry with Chocolate frosting and vanilla sprinkles. "No need to ask how I knew. I just a sense for these things, you know."Pinkie said before giving him a slice. As he ate the slice, Twilight walked up and handed him a present. "Enjoy."She said. He started to unwrap it and when he was done, he found it was a book. He looked through it and realized it was a spellbook. "Yes, I had Spike help me write a personalized spellbook for you, in case you wanted to study and I wasn't able to help."She explained. Next was Starlight who as well handed him a present. "I saw you eyeing this the other day."She said. Passion unwrapped this one as well. It was a vintage Awesome Stallion comic book. "Heh, I was surprised you like that one. I personally was a fan of Mystical Pony Rythmatic myself."She said before being pushed away by Rainbow Dash. "Open mine now. I just know you will love it."She said. He did so and found it was a Cloudsdale snowglobe. He looked at her and she laughed. "You did mention that you wanted to visit Cloudsdale sometime and I got this to keep you happy until you are able to."She explained before digging into a piece of the cake. Rarity came next and her present was a bit bigger than the others. "I worked hard on this one and you better love it. But, of course, you will."She said. He opened the present and discovered it was in fact, three new suits that were hoof-stitched. "For when you want to look your best and it was the least I could do after you gave up your father's suit for me."She said vibrantly. Pinkie came next and she was bouncing up and down with anticipation. "Open mine now, you will love love love it."She said. As he watched her bounce, he decided to open it. It was a large book of recipes. "From cake to pie, to the most mouth-watering of dinners. Every day will be fun with this."She said before bouncing away. Passion laughed nervously as Applejack came next. Instead of being wrapped, it was placed in a box. "Sorry, I had to help Pinkie set this up and didn't have time to wrap it."She explained. He opened the box and found a hat that was similar to Applejack's but sky blue. "I've got plenty of hats to spare and this way, you can gussy up your wardrobe if you like."She said with a tip of her hat. As she walked away, Fluttershy came up and handed him her present. "I had my animal friends help me with this."She told him. He opened it and it was a catalog of the different animals in and around Ponyville. "I thought you would like it just in case you ever wanted to come help me with some of my animal care."She said before backing away. And, finally, it was the CMC's turn. They each gave him a box and he opened all three. Apple Bloom's was a potion set that was similar to something Zecora would use. Sweetie Belle's was music sheets in case Passion wanted to sing with her. And Scootaloo's was a very sloppily made but endearing racing headband. "Thank you. I love them."He said before patting each of them on the head. "Yes."They said in unison. Afterwards, they all had cake and talked amongst themselves and Passion's final memory of the day was him thinking. "I made the right choice moving here. Every day just brings new surprises and I love it." But he was brought back to the present by the sound of the train approaching the station. He and the others watched as it finally stopped and the train's horn went off. "I hope you are all ready to meet my family."He said with just a hint of nervousness. The others nodded their heads just as the train doors began to open. Passion knew that this was going to be a family visit to remember for sure. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5. An Afternoon with Applejack //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5. An Afternoon with Applejack Passion Note was pacing back and forth at Sweet Apple Acres, as if he was waiting for something. He stopped when he heard the door to the barn open and he ran over and saw Applejack bringing out a tray. She passed by him and went inside the house. He waited outside the house a little bit longer before she came out holding the tray, but this time, it was filled with various apple treats. "I reckon this should plenty for you to try out."She said placing them on top of a barrel. He walked over to them and took a bite of one. "Hmm, this is."He started. But as he continued chewing, his face lit up ."Delicious. I love it."He said before finishing it. Applejack smiled as he tried another treat. "Ever better. Wow."He said as he swallowed it. He pulled out a napkin and wiped his mouth. Applejack went back inside the house and came out with a glass of water, to which he gladly took a sip from. "Thank you for your help, I wasn't sure who else to ask."He said graciously. "I would have gone to Sugarcube Corner, but I am thankful you came here instead. "She replied. She took the glass and placed it on the tray. "So, you still anxious about your sister coming to visit?"She asked having taken a guess as to what this taste test was about. "It's not just my sister anymore, I got a letter this morning explaining she was going to bring my parents with her. They said they felt bad for not visiting for a while."He explained. He gave her the new letter and she read it. As soon as she was done, he handed her a photo as well and she looked at it too. "That would be my sister: Coda Epistle, my father: Shiny Zeal and my mother: Chariot Castanet."He told her. She looked back at it again and found that his sister and father were pegasi and his mother was also a unicorn. "Thank goodness my aunt and uncle aren't visiting too. But they are stuck with business in Saddle Arabia."He told her as he finished a third treat. "So, tasting treats, having Pinkie Pie arrange a party and asking Rainbow to schedule a clear sky was all for their visit? Well, that sure is something."She said as she gave back the picture. He gave a nod and finished the fourth and last treat. "Each one was amazing. Thank you Applejack."He said as he wiped his mouth with another napkin. She took the tray and glass inside and came right back out. He sat down on the ground and looked around the farm. "You know, this place is still as amazing as I recall it was when I visited that one time."He said pulling out his notepad and a quill. Applejack looked around too and adjusted her hat. "Oh oh, you mean the same day you nearly knocked over a tree racing Rainbow and Scootaloo. Yes, I remember that day."She said. She let her mind wander to that moment. Passion looked at her in slight confusion. It was just after lunch, that Applejack had heard a loud thud come from the entrance of Sweet Apple Acres. She walked over to the spot and found the three of them laying there in a daze. "Rainbow Dash, Scootaloo, Passion Note? What in the hay are you doing?"She asked. The three jumped to their feet. "Oh. Um."Rainbow said looking everywhere but at her. Passion lowered his head in shame and Scootaloo covered her eyes with a hoof. Applejack's expression lightened and she laughed. The three looked at each other and then at her. "Whoo Boy, that must have been a heck of a race. Next time, be more careful."She said as she propped the tree over a little. 'Wish I could have seen it myself."She added. While she was distracted, Rainbow took off with Scootaloo close by. Passion looked at her with an embarrassed look on his face and she smiled as she finished. As soon as she looked back and saw two of three had fled, she leaned against the tree. "Oh Rainbow."She sighed. She then looked at him. "Oh, you were only here for that party and didn't get much of a tour right? Well, come on then."She said before turning around and walking away. "Passion followed her and started to look around. "So, this is Sweet Apple Acres. What do you do here exactly?"He asked. She stopped and opened a gate. He went through the open gate and was back inside the actual farm grounds. She pointed to the barn. "We do a bit of everything really. Sowing seeds, water trees, the whole shebang."She explained. She showed him the inside of the barn and he made a mental note. She then showed him the inside of her home. He looked around and made another mental note. "Your home looks very cozy and roomy."He said as he inspected a photo in the living room. She gave a nod and showed him outside and guided him to one half of the apple orchard. He gasped at the sight of being up close to the many trees. " They sure are tall."He said looking up as much as he could. "Yeah, it can be a hoofful bucking them all, but luckily I have Big Mac and Apple Bloom helping me. "She said as she inspected an empty bucket. She walked up to one of the trees and bucked it. Luckily, most of the apples landed in the bucket. She placed another empty basket in front of another tree. "Your turn."She told him. He looked at her, at the tree and then at the bucket. He walked over and kicked the tree with his hoofs. Only one apple fell and he fell to the ground. "Ow, my hoofs are sore, and from just one try?"He asked. She smiled and helped him up. "Yeah, you kind of need to build up the muscle for it. Which is why I usually have Apple Bloom collect apples in the baskets. "She explained. Passion went back over to the tree and kicked it again, this time two apples fell into the bucket. "Yeah, you're getting it now."She said before he kicked the tree again. He stopped when he felt ready to collapse. "That was fun. Painful but fun."He said as he got up slowly. She helped him back to the house and ran inside. She came out with an ice bag and he placed in on one of his hooves. "Thank you."He said feeling the cold relieve his ache. "No problem, but maybe next time we just do some other chores. I have a barn full of animals that need care."She said. He gave a sigh of agreement and the two started talking about other things. Just in time for Passion to bring Applejack back to the present with a burp. "Whoo, excuse you."She said. He smiled sheepishly and she went back inside the house. She came back out with a couple of cards. She gave them to him and he looked at them. He recognized them as recipes and placed them in one of his vest pockets carefully. "Thank you, this should make my family's visit even more fun."He said as he got up from the ground. He looked at his watch and started walking away. He looked back and gave a salute before continuing. "They are going to love their visit."He said to himself with a light chuckle. Applejack looked at the barrel and saw the photo of his family on the ground and shook her head. "I'll have Apple Bloom or Big Mac bring it to him in a bit. Right now, I have something to take care of."She said before going back into the house. She stopped when she heard Granny Smith calling for her and she shrugged. "Ok, maybe later."She said before leaving the house.
