Fluttershy waited in anticipation as Twilight began to explain the new spell she was doing, on the white board in front of Rainbow, Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, and Spike.
Twilight lifted up her pointer with her purple magic. "First, you say anything. As long as it starts with 'I wish'."
Then, dragging the pointer along again with her magic, pointed to a picture of her casting a spell. "Then, I will make it happen in one empty space of the house. If it happens to you, then you will see you with it. If it is an item or something similar, you will see it."
Then, dragging her pointer to a pony with magic sparkles around it, she said, "If you like it and it is good, I will cast the spell on you and you will have your wish!" Twilight turned from her whiteboard, with an excited smile. "Any questions?"
The ponies fidgeted, anticipated for Twilight's new wish-giving spell.
Fluttershy whispered, "Has this been tested before?" Nopony could hear it but her.
"Say that again, sugarcube?" Applejack said, turning around.
"Um, has this been tested before?" Fluttershy said, her voice quickly going down in volume, despite it being not possible.
"Huh?" Rainbow said, flying up in the air with a puzzled look on her face.
Spike stood up and said, "She meant, Has this been tested before?" All the ponies let out an "Oohhhh..." And settled back down to their usual positions.
Fluttershy blinked and looked down. Well, dragons to tend to do some rude things. I shouldn't think about it. Fluttershy blinked and looked up at Twilight, waiting for her answer.
"Umm..." Twilight cocked her head and said, "Spike? How would you like to be the first test subject?" Twilight said, a hopeful smile splattered across her face.
Spike ran up and said, "Would I! That would be awesome!" Rainbow rolled her eyes and slumped down. Pinkie Pie said, "Well, what do you wish for, silly filly!" she jumped up, eyes filled with excitement.
"I wish for..." Spike scratched his chin and looked up. He quickly looked at Twilight. "A mustache!" All the other ponies let out a slight giggle, with Pinkie laughing her heart out. Even the ever-so-shy Fluttershy sneaked out a giggle or two.
Pinkie said, "I know why you want a mustache!" She bounced up and down. "So you can be a super-awesome laywer who helps out innocent ponies, to save Rainbow from court, to save Fluttershy from crying her lungs out and almost dying, to save a baby bird, to save the environment, to save a bunch of animals from starvation, poisoning, and all that junk, to save Fluttershy from almost dying of crying again, to save the universe from dying of sad cuteness, to save Doctor Whooves from saving the day and risking his life in the process, to save to Doctor Who fans, to save a quarter of the human population and all the ponies! It's so simple!"
The ponies stared wide-eyed at Pinkie Pie. Fluttershy just muttered, "Pinkie is right" and kept quiet.
"Anyway," Twilight said, slowly pushing Pinkie Pie back into a sitting posture, "Here is the mustached Spike!" Twilight shot a beam directly in the center of her house. Spike gaped at the ever-handsome Spike With a Mustache, and started whispering, "This'll get Rarity for sure!"
"Ahem, lover-boy," Twilight said, waving a hoof in his face, "Do you like it or not?"
Spike turned to face Twilight. "Like it?" He eyes lit up. "I LOVE it!"
"Great." Twilight backed up to a good distance. "Stand still Spike, and remember i'm not in control of whatever happens to you. Okay?" Spike nodded with anticipation. "3...2...1...SHOOT!" Twilight said, shooting a light purple magic beam at Spike. In an instant, he looked exactly like the preview Spike!
"Wow!" Spike ran to the nearest mirror, and looked in it. He twisted his new mustache. "Lookin' good!" He smiled and turned around. "How do you like me now, Rare?"
Rainbow coughed. "So how about me now?" Twilight looked up. "I think somepony else should do it." Twilight responded "Like who?" Rainbow replied, raising an eyebrow.
"Fluttershy!" The scared yellow pony cowered as all the other ponies looked at her. "It's okay... Um... Rainbow, you can go." Rainbow smiled and replied, "No, Fluttershy, I think that i've been a little hard with you. Go on." She said, beckoning to Twilight.
Fluttershy slumped and walked slowly over to the waiting Twilight. I wonder what I wish for... Wait, I know! This will be so great! She immediately shot from her walking pose and began to get fidgety once she was next to Twilight.
"So, uh, Fluttershy, what do you wish for?" Twilight said, smiling a welcoming smile.
"I wish to be in the animal world! Squee!" Fluttershy shot up into the air, and quickly flew back down, remembering her fear of heights.
Twilight blinked. "Ok. This is how I will do it." She cleared her throat. "I will send you through a portal, and there will be a device that you will take with you to get back to Ponyville. DON'T lose it, or else somepony will have to waste their wish on finding you. Not as though it is better than getting their wish, however. Losing you would mean losing a gigantic part of our world!" Twilight knew she would regret sending her into another world, but she kept it all clogged down her throat since Fluttershy seemed so excited and this is one of the very few times she wasn't shy.
The ponies looked at Twilight with questioning and nervous looks. She did a hoof symbol for "stop" and they all stopped, after a bit.
This is going to be so great! Fluttershy thought. The bunnies, the lions, the butterflies, i'll help them all! And they will LOVE ME! This will be so grand! A gigantic smile stretched across her face, which would make even the ugliest of monsters say, "D'aww".
"Fluttershy? I will create the portal now." Fluttershy snapped out of her fantasy and watched twilight open up a glowing purple portal-Which for some reason, instead of glowing light, it glowed dark.
Applejack whispered to Rainbow, "I'm not so sure this little animal world is all that safe.." Rainbow whispered back, "Me too."
Fluttershy ran almost ran in, but Twilight said, "STOP!" And Fluttershy turned around. "This is the thing to get back to Ponyville! Just press the green button!" Twilight strapped a necklace with the strange device around Fluttershy's neck. "Thanks, Twi. You're the best friend a friend could ever have." Before Twilight could respond, Fluttershy was gone, into the portal.
"I just hope she's comin' back..." Applejack muttered.
In the portal
Fluttershy immediately found herself in a sand-filled desert. The sun was unbearable. She could hear woofs and howls nearby-a wolf pack. Maybe she could help the wolves! She ran to the sound, until it became louder. And louder. And louder...
She heard a "SCRAATCH!" And she found that her necklace with the device was torn off, by a dark bat. "Oh, hello, but that's my--" The bat was already flying away. Fluttershy began to chase after it. But she was too slow.
Soon, she found herself in the middle of a desert, with no way to get home.
