When two personalities collide...

Prologue...

After a (reasonably) hard day of bucking clouds, Rainbow Dash was doing laps over Ponyville as a way to unwind before she decided to go home and take a nap.

Silent wasn't in a location that she knew well, which happened to be around Ponyville. She mumbled to herself, her bangs getting tugged over her eyes slightly.

After her 10th lap, Dash stopped what she was doing. Why would Rainbow Dash stop flying? Well, she saw her... Her heart began to pound in her chest as she saw the one that she'd been trying to avoid and yet, she was there and Dash could see her.

Silent rested on a cloud, letting out a stressful sigh. Great…

Then, Dash did the one thing that she never thought she would do, she flew away from someone she trusted... She kept flying until she entered her cloud home, slamming the door behind her.

Silent jerked her head Dash's way, but she missed her by seconds. "My Celestia..."

"I'll just...try again..." Silent flew away from her resting place, looking around. She saw Dash's cloud home, hissing at herself. "Should I even ask for help…? I'll look useless..." She moved to Dash's home anyway, knocking lightly, nervous like always.

Dash's ears perked as she heard the door being knocked on. She slowly walked up to the door and opened it slowly.

Silent's ears perked at the door opening. "Uhm..." Silent looked at her hooves and back up to Dash.

Dash's heart began to pound in her chest again. "Uh... W-what's up, S-Silent...?" She stuttered, breaking the silence

"I...don't think my heads on right..." Silent was actually trembling like she was afraid of something. She was pale, almost a creamed silver. She almost toppled forward, mumbling again.

Dash shook her head and ignored her own feelings for as long as needed because right now, Silent was her friend, nothing more, nothing less. She grabbed her friend, helping her inside and sitting her down before wrapping a wing around her. "Is everything okay?"

Silent suddenly straightened up, laughing. "I believe so."

Dash held her closer. "You can talk to me... You know that..."

"I know, but don't worry about me." Silent moved into a nonchalant look, her bangs hiding both of her eyes. Her poker face was the same as usual. She knew something was up, but she didn't know what so she let it go.

Dash pouted. "I do worry about you..." She looked away, many thoughts were circling in her head

"Don't, it won't end well for you." Silent gave a slight smile to Dash, even though she couldn't see it.

Dash let out a whimper. What Silent said had hurt her but she tried not to show it too much. "I don't care..."

"I came over for a reason though..." Silent looked up at the ceiling, thinking about her statement.

"What was that...?' Rainbow asked, her head tilting slightly but she was still looking away from Silent

"I thought… I lost something...but I can't really figure out what… I felt lost out there...but I think that's just my head screwing with me." Silent gave Dash a pat with her wing, a bit too touchy - more than Silent wanted it to be.

"I've had certain thoughts and feelings for a while now... I know I shouldn't have them but I can't help it and it's tearing me apart..." Tears began to fall from Dash's eyes as her ears flattened against her head

"You can talk to me about them..." Silent whimpered

"I can't... I want to tell you but I don't how you would feel after... You'd probably hate me..."

"I would never hate you, Rainbow. I don't think I ever will...unless it's something low."

"Not like that!" She squeaked, her voice cracked as she sobbed. "I-I l-love you..."

Silent looked off for a second before looking back at Dash. "What...how?" Silent always was told she wasn't one to love and she would never find somepony to even do that for her. "Why...?"

Dash was staring at the floor. "I just felt something... A spark... A connection... I didn't want to tell you because I've never seen you with anypony else so I assumed you weren't into dating and now it's gone the way I expected it - you don't love me back and I've made a fool of myself..."

"Dash...you got it wrong...it's not that I don't feel anything for you, I do...but I don't know what it is..."

"Then I want to help you find out..."

Silent leaned her gaze to the ceiling. "How will you do that...?"

She gulped. "Well, I was thinking... Maybe, we could try us...? See where it goes, I guess..."

"I...you honestly want to love a blank flank?" Silent wrapped her wings around herself. "I don't have a cutie mark and I can't be loved without causing me to ruin it by my hunger.."

Dash shook her head. "I don't care about that... I just wanna be with you..."

"I didn't want to cause you any trouble..."

Dash gave her a nuzzle. "You would never cause me any trouble." She stated

Silent's lips started to tremble, her body shivering. "So m-much love..." So much love... Her nose twitched at her statement but she shook her head harshly and returned the nuzzle.

Dash smiled softly. "I love you..." She whispered

Silent was almost in tears from Dash's confession, but it hurt to hold back how she felt about it. "D-Dash..." Silent's eyes were never visible, but it was clear that she was going to start to cry.

Dash wrapped her wings around Silent's waist, holding her there as she wiped her tears away with a hoof. "I do... I really, really do..."

Silent hissed at Dash, baring her fangs. "I-I can't control it y-yet.." She looked away, calming down. "That's...what I'm talking about..."

"We can take baby steps..." Dash reassured her

"It would be best...but I'm pathetic." Silent smiled sadly, sniffling

Dash held her tighter. "No, you're not! Never say that again!"

"Sorry..." Silent hugged her tightly, burying herself into Dash.

Dash hugged back tightly. "Is there anythin' that you wanna do?"

"I don't know how this works..."

"Want me to show you...? I promise I'll go slow for you."

Silent nodded slowly.

Dash leaned in slowly, their noses touched slightly.

Silent blushed. "U-uhm.."

Dash gave her nose a small lick before pulling away slightly. "Want me to stop?"

"O-oddly, not at all.."

Dash gave a small smile, leaning in more as their lips touched ever so slightly.

Silent started to shake again, but she calmed.

Dash didn't move anymore, she wanted to see how Silent felt about it before going any further.

Silent leaned into Dash slightly.

Dash kissed her softly, not wanting to get too ahead of herself.

Silent pulled away, smiling faintly.

Dash chuckled. "Cute."

Silent huffed, booping her nose. "Aw, shush."

Dash tickled her side with her wing. "Love ya."

"I think that's what I feel..."

"You gonna try to say it...?"

"I love...you too?" Silent tilted her head.

"That's it!" Dash grinned sheepishly

"Is it? The feeling I get when I'm around you...?"

"Depends on the feelings that you get," Rainbow said

"My heart beats really fast...and I kinda get nervous..."

"It's love." Dash then looked away. "C-can I s-sit in your lap...?"

Silent patted her lap. "Of course."

Dash smiled and sat in her lap, snuggling into her chest. "Best relationship ever!" She whispered

"What was that...?"

Dash blushed. "I said that this is the best relationship ever."

"Is it really? We just started us~" Silent giggled softly.

"Yeah, this relationship is 20% cooler than the other ones!"

Silent giggled more. "That's great to hear."

Dash just snuggled into her. "I love you so much."

"I love ya too~"

"So...why me?" Dash asked

"Something about you..."

"Like what? I wanna know!"

"First of all, I could tell you loved someone...just not me...it was all over you sometimes. Second, you're beautiful… I'm not... Third, you're always there for me..."

Dash licked her cheek. "You are beautiful and yeah, I was always there and that isn't going to change."

Silent slightly giggled. "I'm not of colour like everypony else...and again, I’m a blank flank… I don't have a purpose..."

Dash looked hurt. "You do have a purpose... You're mine and I promise that I'll never leave you..." She started choking up. "I-I don't care about h-how you look... I don't care that you don't have a cutie mark... You're mine and I love you for who you are..."

"You know what I am though...? And I'm sorry… I didn't mean it like that, Dash..."

"You're mine! That's what!" Dash hugged her tightly, sobbing into her chest

Silent hugged back tightly. She looked away, thinking about her choice of words. Not even a good changeling...no wonder I suck at being a pony...

Dash's body shook as she sobbed. I never want to leave her... She makes me so happy...

"Dash...what did my outburst remind you of?" Silent cupped Dash's cheeks and lifted her head to see her face.

"It depends... A few things..." Dash tried to look away from her gaze

Silent leaned into Dash, their noses touching. "Like what?"

"Flight school mainly..." She sniffed

"Oh..." Silent's ears folded. "I'm sorry..." Oh Dash...I meant before… I guess I'll let you know later on... "Royally sorry..."

"It's okay... You remember Fluttershy, don't you?"

"I remember..."

Rainbow let out a small laugh. "She was the only friend I had while I was in Flight School... We had each other's backs and we were practically like sisters, we still are and that's a bond I never wanna break because you wouldn't think Fluttershy can get angry but you would be wrong... She can get angry and when she is, you wanna avoid her as it can be messy."

"I see..." Silent slowly nodded, her bangs slightly bouncing as she did.

"So... We keeping this a secret or we telling...?"

"I don't see why we should keep it a secret...but I don't mind."

"It's whatever you want." Dash yawned. "It's getting late..."

"Time for me to leave, eh?"

Dash whined. "No! You don't need to!" She blushed. "Besides, I don't want you to go..."

"Heh, then I won't." Silent chuckled

Dash purred, smiling softly.

Silent looked away again, deep in her thoughts.

"Silent...?"

"Yeah...?"

Dash wrapped her wings and hooves around her. "Are you okay...?"

"You can say that..."

"What's wrong...?" She whimpered

"Nothing...just thinking.."

"You sure...?" Dash asked with concern

"Yeah...I'm sure." Silent smiled slightly.

"Okay..." Dash wasn't completely convinced but she decided to let it go

Does she even know...? Or is she trying to look around it? Silent rested her head onto Dash's, sighing calmly.

Dash smiled, wrapping a wing around her as she started falling asleep.

"Cute..." Silent gushed at the sight

Dash shivered from the cold, even though she was snuggled up to the one she loved, it was still pretty cold outside.

Silent pulled her closer, her wings wrapped around her. "Should we move to somewhere more comfortable?" She asked

Dash mumbled in her sleep. "S-sure..."

Silent picked her up slowly, heading to Dash's room.

Dash whimpered quietly. "Really c-cold..."

"I'm getting there..." Silent sat down, then laid down with Dash on her chest. She pulled sheets over the both of them, purring softly

Dash curled up on her chest. "I love you, Silent." She opened her eyes slightly to look at her marefriend

"Love you too, Dashie..." Silent gave her a smile, chuckling softly.

"Can I have a goodnight kiss?" Dash asked, smiling cutely

"Depends on where~" Silent's smile started to widen, giggling at what she said.

Dash blushed. "On my muzzle for now." She giggled too

Silent pecked her muzzle gently, but her kiss lingered for a bit before she pulled away.

Dash pecked her muzzle in return, pulling away after a few seconds.

Silent blushed, smiling slightly. "Night..."

Rainbow laid down beside her, wrapping her wings around her chest. "Night babe..."

"Night, Dashie..." Silent got comfortable, letting out a slight hum as she closed her eyes.

Dash cuddled up to her as she drifted off to sleep again.

"Goodnight…my little ball of colour..." Silent mumbled before falling asleep herself.

Author's Note

Like the title of the chapter says, consider it a prologue... I've been running out of ideas for updates and new stories... However, I'm determined to make this one a great story!

Anyway... I hope its good...
