"I made it better." "You made it like 4 different colors." "Well your's is like 2." "White with pink bangs, simple and nice." "Mine is still way more stunning isn't it?" "Your like a crayon box would be the better description. Are you sure your new teachers are going to be ok with that?" "Don't worry, it's fine. My hair is the least possible thing I get in trouble for back in the old school." "I swear if mom chews me out because of you, your doing my chores for a week." "No way I'm doing that again." "Then don't let that be a distraction got it? At least try and be good today...please?" "Yea yea." "Good now get to school or you'll be late for your first day." "Love you big brother!" "Ow, not in my ear, Love you too, just get going." With that, the little pre-teen happily skipped out of the front door leaving you to mend your aching ear. "I swear that girl is going to be the reason i'm deaf. Alright, about half an hour to get school for me." You sluggishly stuffed your bag, slipped on your shoes and began to proceed towards the door until something caught your attention. The sight of a young girl sitting casually on your balcony. You rubbed your eyes in disbelief, as you're sure that she wasn't there before nor did she seemingly pass by you. The only way to that is to drop down from the upper balcony, and that in itself requires hard grip. After your vision cleared, she clearly was gone...like a ghost." Wait.....Ah forget it, I'm seeing things." You quickly made your way out of the home, sliding onto the sidewalk and down the street until your home was no longer in view. "This is it...a new school, new people, new friends...maybe." "Psst...." As you continued down to the end of the street, you proceeded right past a few residential businesses, bakeries and what not. One in particular, stood out the most as you walked these streets before and never noticed it. "Hmm....Shyfly bakery? This building was vacant last time I checked. Then again, I'm pretty new to this area too." "Psst..." "Hmm? I swear I'm hearing things too." Finally at the end of the block, you proceeded left, the school visible all the way up a large hill. "Knew I should have invested in that bike. (Sigh) here we go." "Oohh mister...." "Ok now I know I'm not crazy, who's the wise guy?" "Um.....down here..." Your eyes shifted downward to a timid looking girl, her blue eyes trying their best to look away and her pink hair swaying in the wind as the fall leaves fell among the ground. No doubt she was a grade level under you given her timid nature. "Hmm? Wow...I really am sorry to say this, but I literally didn't see you down there." "It's...quite ok....." "Can I....help you?" "Um.....Are you....by chance um......N-nevermind...." With that she nervously walked off, her eyes still avoiding your's as she were afraid. "What in the world was that all about? Nevermind it I guess, I have to get to the introduction ceremony." As you neared the front gate of your school, you couldn't help but notice something shrouded in the grassy hill next to the school. Directly under the cherry blossom was someone sleeping, no doubt about it. "Attention all students, the ceremony will be starting momentarily, please find you seats and thank you." the woman over the intercom went. "Oh crap, I'm gonna be late." you said as you began to run until your eyes turned towards the person on the hill. "Crap, whoever that is gonna be late too." With no hesitation you began to make your way towards the hill, slowly ascending as you yelled out, "Hey! Wake up! The ceremony is starting any minu...." What coincidence is it that you'd see the girl again, silent as a mouse sleeping on the hill. "Hey you...wake up would ya." As her eyes fluttered open, she let out a cute little yawn before sitting up. "I'm sorry..." "Why are you apologizing? Anyway get up, the introduction ceremony is about to start." "Oh well it would.....wait what! I'm gonna miss it!" she said, jumping up and taking off towards the school entrance. "Least she has the same idea as me. Wait why am I not running?!" As you silently creaked open the door to the auditorium, you took note of everyone sitting down. "Crap, I'm late. Better find a seat quietly." Now if the student council would take the stage." The obvious principle said. Quickly you slid into an empty seat, thanking the gods above that no one saw you. It was then that you let out a sigh of relief, until you looked beside you. "What in the...." There she was again, completely passed out in her chair. "Why do I keep running into this girl?" "And would you please welcome your student class president, Fluttershy!" the principle continued. Everyone began clapping and cheering until it was obvious no one was coming up. They all confusingly looked around until someone began to staring at the young girl. Soon, everyone began to do the same until it was clear. You had to do something at least. "Uh...excuse me..." "Just five more minutes...." she uttered. "I think those five minutes are meant to be on stage." "Say agai.....wait what! Oh I'm sorry, sorry sorry sorry!" she said as she jumped up and ran towards the stage. "Fluttershy huh?" As Fluttershy made her way on stage, the rest of the students began to clap and cheer again. "Now that are president is here, will the Student Council please introduce themselves." One by one they began, first was a tall girl, obviously in a higher grade, with tripled colored hair, pink, purple, and maybe dark indigo. She was by comparison to most others around here, energetic, rocking a nice pair of headphones and a hair bun to boot. "What's up new students of Canterlot Academy. My name is Twilight Sparkle, as I'm sure you've heard since my IQ is the thing carrying this school." She said that like she's some kind of saint. "I am the student Vice President as well as the Historian. If you have any concerns as to your studies or maybe some rocking tunes, don't hesitate to let me know. I look forward to dancing across that stage with all of you." The next, obviously another higher up. This one was just as tall with a beautiful complexion, dazzling purple hair, and a white scarf. "Bonjour darlings. My name is Rarity and I assume the position of Treasurer as well event director." And she's freaking french too! "I do my best to ensure that the money needed to fund events and services around the school are taken care of. Bien sûr (Of course), I'd love to add my personal touch now and then but....excusez moi, I look forward to learning with each and everyone of you, Je vous remercie(Thank you)." she said as she bowed. This one was a different case, purple hair with teal highlights. The vibe she gave off was almost unusual of a student council member, a punk rock kind of a look. "Nice to meet you all. My name is Starlight Glimmer, I am the student representative. I guess all I really do is get people involved, get the school pumped and into the events you know. I also, on occasion, advise the council on any plans of action, which in any case doesn't really happen. I look forward to your engagement in many of the fun things we do here at Canterlot Academy." And last but not least, the girl you had been running into all morning. Her pink hair shimmering in the small light coming from the windows. "Um....My name....well it's....mmm..." she said in a nervous tone. "Fluttershy....I'm the class president and...well...I just make sure things are in order....sorry...." "There's no need to be sorry dear, you did your best bon travail (Good job)." Rarity assured. The principal then stepped back to the podium, clearing her voice upon adjusting the microphone. "And I am your principal, Ms. Cherilee if you please. Now please, give it up for your student council." As everyone began to clap, you couldn't help but wonder why she approached you in the first place. The ceremony finally ended as you shook it off, mixing into the crowd of people flooding out of the auditorium. "Straight to your classes everyone, you have your schedules." Confusingly you wondered the school, just as every other person around you. "229?...I'm in the 100's so it's gotta be upstairs." You couldn't help but grind your teeth at the realization of the upstairs rooms. "These are 100's too! (Sigh) Where the heck is 229?" "I think I can help pardner." "Hmm?" you hummed as you glanced behind you. "And you ar......wow...." you let drool out of your mouth, the girl wearing nothing but a sports bra and shorts that defined her toned figure. "Something wrong?" "Um...no....just wasn't expecting...." "Oh you mean my training gear. Well I am the top of the track team. Anyway if you're done drooling, ah'd be happy to show you to your class." "Really, cause this place is seriously confusing." "Absolutely pardner. Right this way." She led you back down the stairs and outside a side door. Just in the distance was another building completely missed by anyone. "You'll find ya class over there hon." "Um...thanks...girl." "Applejack if ya please." "Right...thanks Applejack. I gotta go now but I hope to see you again sometime." "See me or see my body?" she said with a scowl. "Wait w-w-what? I didn't, I swear." "Don't think ah didn't catch ya staring pardner." With that, she approached him and began to staring death into his soul. "I'm...gonna die...and I never even got any..." You felt her breathing come ever so closer to your ear until suddenly, "Got ya..." With that she burst our laughing as the sweat painted your face. "You should have seen the look of your face sugar." "Why me..." you said wiping the sweat from your forehead. As she calmed down, she patted you on the back. "You should get going pardner, you're gonna be late." "R-right. Nice to meet you Applejack." "You too, hurry now." As you approached the stairs, you couldn't help but feel this presence in the distance. It felt relatively small as if belonging to a child. You couldn't just fight this urge so you turned around and what came next was by far the highlight of your downfall. A little girl with red hair was airborne directly in front of you, her two feet lined up directly with your...Are you kiddi-- Before you knew it, her little shoes were now planted in your face directly above the stairs. Within seconds, you began to tilt back, the pressure of her hit now taking effect. Quickly she kicked off and landed on her feet, letting you roll down the stairs. "Ow ow ow ow ow!" you screamed every stair you came in contact with until finally you slammed into the wall. "Applebloom?!" "Oh howdy big sis." "Don't howdy me, why'd you kick him." "He was trying to make moves on you I'm sure of it." "He was just asking me directions Applebloom." "Oh no no, I saw the look in his eyes. He was all like 'oh Applejack, won't you let me touch those magnificent breast,' or something." As you began to stir, you couldn't help but hold your face in pain. "Why does my....oh wait...that girl...wait a minute?" you said jumping up. "Hey where's that little brat?!" "You stay away from my sister you pervert!" "Why did you kick me?!" "Don't think I saw your lewd little hands reaching for my sister." "I was asking for directions." "You say that but--" "Applebloom." Applejack angrily stated. "He was asking for directions, you can literally look at his class schedule." You weakly held the class schedule up to show her making her cocking her head in confusion. "Room....229...oh yea, that's in the other building across from the back of the school. Don't worry, I'll show you there." she said as she happily skipped down the stairs past me. "W-wha....she's not even freaking sorry about it?!" "Sorry about that, my sister is a...strange case." "Looked more like she was dead on obsessed with you." "I guess you could call it that." "Well, I'm gonna go now, hopefully I won't get drop kicked again." "Might wanna get that checked out later pardner." "I plan on it." As she led you out the backdoor of the school, you couldn't help but be reminded of Pinkie. She's usually always this cheerful and oblivious. Within a few minutes, you and her both arrived at the other building, which in it's entirety was twice the size of the main school building. Upon entering though, you were met with a sweet smelling fragrance. Flowers of different varieties lay on the window sills of every window, the breeze of the farthest open window taking the scent all the way down. "Smells so peaceful." "You can thank Ms. Rarity and Ms. Fluttershy for that. They sure know how to plant some purty flowers." "Rarity, Fluttershy? The student council?" "Yep. This entire building is their classroom, pretty cool huh?" "That's actually pretty cool. So is my class up or downstairs?" "It's actually through the double doors over there. I have to go so i'll see you later." "H-hey wait a minute." You tried to say before she ran off. "Aren't you going to apologize for kicking me?!" It was too late, she was off on her own little adventure. "(Sigh) This is going to be the death of me I swear." Slowly you placed your hands on the double doors, taking a little breath before opening the doors and walking through. It was like a giant cafeteria, strange for a classroom. "H-hello?" "Ah and here's our newest member." "Member of what exactly?" "Well don't shy la mignonne, sit down sit down." Rarity said as she motioned me forward. Funny to mention that all of them were suddenly wearing a set of headphones. "Just in case you forgot," the teacher began, "I am your teacher and director here, Ms. Cherilee, very nice to meet you." "So you're the principal and teacher?" you asked. "And your director too." "Director of what might I ask?" "Why the student council of course." "I was under the impression I was here to start school." "And you are as you'll still have attend regular classes in the main building during the morning half. But once the afternoon hits, you'll be coming here. So If you would introduce yourself please." "R-right. Hey everyone, I kinda already know who you are since I saw you at the ceremony but I guess it's my turn. My name is Lotus." "Last name too." "Oh right..um, Lotus Pie my name is...or um...my name is Lotus Pie I mean." "Oh aren't you just adorable." Rarity couldn't squealed out. "Mercy darling, pitié." "Um...thank you I guess. So what exactly is room 229 then?" "You seriously don't know?" Twilight uttered making you spin around in confusion, those purple disks for eyes staring right at you as she bopped her head to some music." 229 isn't the room number but the entire building. We, the student council, gained the rights to use it as we please." "The entire building..." you said in shock. Oh, Applebloom did say that earlier didn't she? "So then, why am I here and not in a regular class, I don't know anything about being a student council member?" "It was a special request." Cherilee added. "From our Star athlete and trainer." "An athlete?" Just then, the doors flew open, everyone turning their attention towards the girl now standing in the doorway. "Oh no..." you said as your eyes locked with hers. "Look, I can explain, just give me a sec." "Don't say a word Lotus." You squealed in fear at that response. "Listen Rainbow, please." "I said shut up. You'll get your time to speak...after I'm done bashing your head in!" Quickly she jumped the table prompting you to jump up in response. As she neared, you jumped over the table yourself, desperate to get away. "Stop running you traitor!" "Just let me explain would ya?!" "Too late now!" Like a couple of wild dogs, you two circled the room until eventually she chased you outside the doors. All they rest heard was a loud crash, and you screaming. A few minutes later, you both entered, Rainbow with a blush on her face, and you with a look of guilt on yours. "Um....are you ok?" Rarity asked. "Fine." Rainbow quickly answered as she sat down, her eyes closed and her arms crossed. "You don't look ok." "I said i'm fine." "If you say so..." Starlight quickly leaned over to Rarity. "What do you think happened between them?" she whispered. "I can't say for sure, but things seem tense." she whispered back. "So," you began, "If we could get to work now, I'd be grateful." "Silly Lotus. The first day is never about work and you know it." The teacher chuckled. "It's about getting to know your classmates and your teachers. Everyone, please split up into your projects. We shall teach Luna everything we do here at the student council. "I still haven't agreed to being in the student council you know." "Oh but Lotus, there are so many opportunities available to you, plus this is only way the school would accept you." "You're kidding?" "Not at all. Now please, if you would follow Ms. Fluttershy first." "Ms. Flutter..." you said before letting your gaze fall upon the girl standing directly in front of you. "Oh geez, when did you get there?" "Actually...I've been here." "Oh, sorry about that. I didn't mean to freak out like that." "It's ok..." She's so quiet. "If you would please follow me..." "Alright then." As you exited the double doors, Fluttershy slowly made her way towards the stairs, motioning you along. "So Fluttershy, you're the president huh?" She nodded. "You must be really organized then for them to choose someone so young." "Actually...I'm 16." You couldn't help but cough up your surprise. "16?" "Y-yes..." "Wow, that's insane." As you approached the top of the stairs, it was like an entirely different atmosphere. The wall was painted with velvet red, a carpet lined the floor, and there lay six doors, three on either side of the hallway spaced out considerably far. Four of them were designed in a very interesting way. The one that Fluttershy proceeded to unlock was made out of wood, covered in vines and leaves alike. She motioned you inside, and followed soon after. It didn't take long for you to survey the room. "Wow, now that's insane." The entire room was straight out of a Disney movie, the designs of birds, cat, dogs, and all animals alike painted the wallpaper. A circle rug with a large brown bear on it lay directly center of the floor while the rest of the floor was comprised of carpet. In the center of the carpet was a small table possibly for eating. On the left side of the room was a bookshelf, with dozens of animal themed books along with a desk where loads of sketches of sat. On the right, a bed with a floral pattern to it and next to it, a green veil covering up another room. "Please take a seat on the bed..." "You really enjoy nature don't you?" She nodded before sitting down on her bed, patting a spot next to her. You obliged and sat next to her. "So Lotus, how should we start..." "You are the president here remember? Why don't you tell me." "Well, as you know....my name is...Fluttershy. Bunnies are my favorite animals and I like apple juice..." she quietly but quickly shot out. "Well that's quite the info. Well my favorite animal is a ring tailed lemur and I love apple juice as well." Quickly she blushed at this, a very small gasp erupting from her mouth. "R-really...favorite color?" "As you can tell by my hair, pink." Another gasp came to her. "Favorite hobby?" "I can't actually tell you what that would be since I've never really had one. I remember spending alot time with my dogs." Once again, a gasp came to her. "We have...alot in common." "I assume your hobby is music?" "Hmm? Oh...you mean the headphones?" "Yea, I saw you all wearing them, even Rainbow." "Well, it's kind of a secret." "Are you sure? Can't you tell little old me?" She shook her head. "I'm sorry..." "Well secrets are meant to be kept anyway so I understand. Actually it's kinda surprising isn't it? I think this is the start of a beautiful friendship." Quickly, she hid her face behind her hands, a noticeable blush coming to her. "H-hey, no need to be nervous, I am your new member after all. Say why don't I help you?" "Hmm?" she hummed with a slight nervousness. "Well, it just seems like you're really shy you know. A president would be way more confident." "I'm sorry..." she said looking as if she were about to cry. "Hey hey, I didn't mean it as an insult. I just think that maybe you can work on some things. For example, your volume." "My..." she uttered slightly touching her throat. "If you were just a bit louder, maybe you could really sell you spot as president." "And...how would I do that?" "Well first, we should start at the top, yelling." "You want me to yell?" "Just a little one, to really hear you voice you know." "Um...ok." With that, she stood up and proceeded to take a breath. What was supposed to be a victorious yell ended up coming out as a very soft, "Yay..." "Hmm, I think you can do better than that. Let's try it one more time." Again, she took a breath and once again, "Yay..." "Well, I think that's the extent of that. No need to keep prying though, I actually prefer your quiet and cute voice." "C-c-c-cute..." "Hmm? Well yea, I mean you are a pretty cute girl. Honestly, cuter than anyone I've ever seen." Within seconds, Fluttershy collapsed on the soft carpet. "Uh Fluttershy? Are you ok?" "I just feel a little...light headed." "Well here, let me help you up." As soon as Lotus picked her up, the heat emanating from her increased making her blush incredibly. He placed her on her bed and sat down next to her. "Feeling better yet?" "A bit..." "Say, is that a kitchen over there, behind the fabric?" She nodded. "Wow, I didn't notice that until now. These rooms are like little apartments." As swept aside the green veil, your eyes were met with the layout of the kitchen. All the way to the left was the sink, next to that, the counter leading over to the stove and it's four burners before leading up to the fridge. Under and above the stove were cabinets that had a bit of a 1800's look to them. As you opened the door to the container of food, you were met with a sweet smell, the smell of dozens of different vegetables, fruits, and much more. "Are you surprised?" Fluttershy asked from in the other room. "I mean I know you like nature, but this is something else. You must be like the healthiest girl in the school. Say, I noticed you got some interesting types of apples in here." "Um...yes, Applejack gave them to me, she's the owner of her own farm." "Applejack?...Oh yea, that girl who's sister kicked me in the face. She owns her own farm huh? Must be special for them to be able to produce apples like these. Say, are you by chance hungry?" "I am a little hungry yes...but I can wait for lunch, I don't want to ask too much of you." "Actually, I'd be happy to oblige." "Y-you would?" "I cook for my sister all the time actually. I just need a pot or something..." "Under the cabinets next to the stove..." "Let's see here..." you said as you opened up the cabinets. "Ah hah. This one should do, although, it is a little big." A few minutes passed and suddenly Fluttershy sprung up, a sweet smell filling her nostrils. "That....smells good..." "Feeling good enough to come check it out?" "Maybe..." Fluttershy slowly stood up, letting her feet touch the ground. As she stood up, she wobbled a little before catching her footing. Within seconds, she was directly next to you. Inside the pot, she could see a brown liquid, an apple and peach bobbing at it's surface. "What's...this?" "You wanna try it? It might be a little hot though." She eagerly nodded before you scooped up a little in the ladle and held it down to her. She blew a little to cool it down before taking a sip. Her eyes instantly shot wide and she sipped the rest of it. "That was...amazing." "Glad you think so." "What is it exactly..." "Well, it's kinda like a syrup in a way. I basically mixed together some water, apples, and peaches to start, then I added something to really let the flavors take over so it wouldn't taste like pure water. Add in a little cinnamon, and it's all done. (Do not quote me on these recipes please) At this stage, it's a liquid and can be eaten as a very sweet soup but if I were add the right ingredients, I could actually increase the viscosity and make it an actual syrup." "Amazing...I didn't know you could cook this way." "Well you learn something new everyday. I'll make you a bowl so you can really enjoy it. But...where are those exactly?" "Above the stove...in the cabinets." "You know this kitchen reminds me of a very vintage home on the prairie, the way it's designed, the way the light illuminates it, beautiful." you said reaching up for a bowl. "You...like my design?" "Yea actually, it's soothing, almost completely peaceful. I think you did a great job designing this. "T-thank you..." she said with a blush. "I suppose I should let you go." "Actually, I think I wanna stay a little longer. You still haven't explained to me what you do as president." you said as you filled the bowl with the sweet liquid. "Maybe you can tell me while we eat this." "Um...yea, that sounds good." As you both made your way over to the table, she, quietly yet effectively, told you her job as president. The time passed and before you knew it, another hour had gone by. "And that's what I do..." "Wow, talk about busy. How do you even get anything with a schedule like that?" "Organization I suppose...It's very hard yet easy as long as you're organized." "I think you're really cool for being able to do all this work really. I don't think I'd ever be able to handle any of it." "T-thank you...say Lotus..." "Hmm?" "Thank you for today. No one's ever said those things to me so...boldly." "No problem. I should probably get going though, I'm sure the others are waiting for me." "Actually...I'd like to accompany you." "Really? But you're the president, don't you already know everything?" "Not really...I always kind of keep to myself." "Well that's not good for a friendship, not at all. I gladly welcome your company." "T-t-thank you..." Quickly you two put the bowls in the sink, placing a top over the pot of goodness and placing it into the fridge. "Come on let's get going." you said motioning her along. "I bet the others are dying to show me what they do." She followed you almost instantly, a slight smile coming to her face. Learning the curve As we made our way across the hall, the girls were already at work it seemed, each one tinkering away at something or another within the confines of their room. I made the conscious decision to see Rarity first, something about her just seemed, interesting. "Think the others will be ok with us coming so late?" You asked Fluttershy. "Oh that? Well...I'm not really sure." "Well, only one way to find out." You and Fluttershy approached the white door, it's design was straight out of a fancy house with a fancy black design covering a good portion and a light purple fabric draped around the sides. You slowly let loose three knocks on the door, waiting as you heard a few shifts in sound within. "Be there in a moment Monsieur." A moment passed before finally, the door opened to reveal Rarity, wearing a very interesting clothing choice. "Well hello Lotus, please come in come in, J'insiste." Instantly you stopped in your tracks, your eyes falling upon what she wearing. "Uh...Rarity right? Why...are you in a bathing suit?" "Oh this...it's just a simple design I'm trying out." "Well isn't it a bit...inappropriate...I mean what if someone just so happens to see you?" you said averting your eyes. "Nonsense, my art is all about embracing the body. If anyone were to see me, I'd gladly model for them." You couldn't help but tug at your collar, letting loose a few nervous coughs. "You're really...open aren't you?" "As a model, It's my job to express how open I am. Oh, well hello Fluttershy, what brings you here?" "I came to...um..." It seemed she was even more shy around them than she was with you. Words left her mouth like the most complicated scrabble game ever, even worse when she would slowly hide herself behind you every time she messed up. You had no choice but to speak for her. "I think what she's trying to say is that she's interested in what you guys do, you know, outside of the council." "Is that right? As a matter of fact, I don't recall her ever taking the time to spend time with us other than in class. Is the true Ms. President? Would you like to know what I do?" She gently nodded making Rarity practically squeal in excitement. "Don't you worry Fluttershy, by the time I'm done, we'll practically be sisters." Both of you slowly made your way in, Rarity quickly closing the door behind you. The room was identical to Fluttershy's, only reversed, organized from top to bottom with clothes, accessories, and mannequins all wearing some sort of outfit. In the back of the room lay a small stage, two steps leading up to it. On the desk lay dozens of sketchbooks, all probably filled to the brim with designs and next to it, a large sewing machine. Its walls were painted with white and purple, not only that, but seemingly covered in a sort of abstract design of lines and curves. "Someone sure likes fashion." She suddenly spun like a ballerina, stopping directly ahead of you, and letting her...assets jiggle. "You have an eye for creativity I see. Isn't it simply magnifique?" "It's...overwhelming. How many designs have you created with all this?" "At least 200 i'd say." You eyes couldn't help widen at that statement. "200? You're kidding?" "Well I started designing the day I came into Crystal High and haven't stopped since then, even if it's one minute of work." "You're certainly dedicated. What do you think Fluttershy?" No words even needed to be spoken as her eyes were literally lit up with stars. It's like she'd never seen a fashion designer in her life. "My my," Rarity began, giggling at her president's antics. "I believe that's a yes, simply Divin. As for my job as Treasurer and Event director, I think I made it pretty simple on stage. I take pride in handling all the funds that our school needs to fund our council, various events, and clubs around the school. I am also the main director for those events and make sure everything gets set up perfectly to suit the needs of the staff and students." "That doesn't sound so hard." "You have yet to even live a day of my life then. On top of having to bring the funds to the event, you also have to deal with anything that may affect the event. That means accidental damage, faulty equipment, idiotic students who think the idea of a party is stage diving, and even disagreements between legal organizations, such as those at job fairs and special events. Let's not forget that if I can't gather the funds, with or without help, the blame is all on me. It's more of a hassle then you think." "Any normal person would bake under the pressure. How do you handle it all?" "Keeping a calm and positive attitude usually does the trick, and well having a little help too." "Help? Like who?" "Another girl who goes to school here. She's yet to join the council and take full responsibility of event planner, but she definitely has an eye for decorating, I can tell. Now, on to my fashion designing darlings." With that, she made her way over to the opposite wall, a look of pure excitement on her face. "Feast your eyes on my latest designs!" she said pressing a button on the wall. As soon as she did that, the small stage began to rotate, leading 2 sets of clothes to spin around. The first mannequin wore a black and white tux with a fedora, white fabric wrapped around the shoulders and the base of the fedora. The other wore a white dress with those fancy gloves that cover up to the upper arm. At the end of the gloves, that same white fabric was tied around the arm. Both you and Fluttershy simply clapped in amazement, both your interest in what she intended with these designs severely peaked. "I have to say Rarity, you've outdone yourself." "Don't give your blessing just yet, not until you see what these designs can really do. As you can see with the tuxedo, I felt that smooth jazz would be a good inspiration for this one, incorporating the fedora to specifically go along with it only. The dress however, is not to uncommon from one you'd see at your everyday ball. That's why I added the something special." "You mean the white fabric?" "Precisely, but not just any fabric, pas du tout, a fabric that matches the exact emotion of what the wearer feels." "So basically like a mood ring?" "Well that's how Twilight explained it. If I'm correct, the fabric reacts to the natural body heat and hormones generated by the body of whoever wears it and changes colors based on it. Only heaven knows if I even understood her explanation correctly." "So what if it really did change color based on emotions?" "I'd be a sensation darling, of course not without Twilight's help. Say, you two seem willing no? Why don't you try them on?" "I don't know about that Rarity." "Well why not dear, I don't see any reason for you not too? As a matter of fact, what do you think Fluttershy?" You both looked over to Fluttershy, who in the simplest sense was completely blushing up a storm. "I....would like to actually too actually...but only if Lotus does it too." They both turned their attention to you, their eyes now deeply watching your expression for an answer. "Well Fluttershy isn't against the idea, what about Lotus?" You couldn't help but sigh. "I've got no choice do I?" "Not even a little." Rarity giggled as she gave you a mischievous smile. "Now, up you two go, and make sure not to rip the fabric." Rarity accompanied Fluttershy to what was Fluttershy's kitchen in her room, a small curtain covering the entrance as to indicate that it was the dressing room in Rarity's. You sat outside of course, careful not to go getting yourself into a situation you didn't want and proceeded to slip into the tux. With time you finished long before Fluttershy did, and your thoughts began to wander to your life before hand. To think that I've only been here a day and all this weird stuff has happened. I always had an issue making friends when it came down to it. I remember having that one circle of like 3 friends and that was it. That crazy happy go lucky Dianne would always have some type of fun planned after school, no matter what the day was like. It could be pouring rain and she would still find some way to make it enjoyable. Can't say I don't miss Arthur either, as outgoing as it gets and on top of that, he was practically the coolest guy in school. We hung out so much, we practically lived together. Wait, who was the third member of our group? Your train of thought was broken by the sound of Rarity's voice. "I assume you're ready Lotus dear?" "Just about." "Well then, introducing your date for this evening." With that Rarity, stepped out into the open motioning Fluttershy along with her. The first thing you saw was the sight of white heel stepping out, then Fluttershy to follow. She slowly turned towards you, her eyes meeting yours in an instant and a blush painting her face. Stunning was not a word that could describe this perfectly, no, it was an understatement. Fluttershy's small stature seemed to define the dress in it's beauty, her eyes shone like blue little gemstones and everything seemed to flow together so nicely, even the fabric on her arms which turned itself pink completely pink. Your breathing had become a bit erratic, not only that, but suddenly you could feel your heartbeat pulsing again and again. "Am I assume that you like it Lotus?" "Y-yea, just...wow." "That's exactly the expression I expect the masses to have when they see my designs. Simply magnifique" "Do you...really like it?" Fluttershy struggled to utter making you tense up even more. You hesitated to nod, your body as stiff as a rock but even so, you did. Her head turned toward the ground as she played with her fingers, obviously trying to avoid eye contact with you. "Say, what do you say to a trade?" Rarity asked. "A trade?" you questioned. "Indeed, I let you keep my illustrious design and you model for me every once in a while." "I don't know how I feel about that, I mean me modeling?" You never saw yourself as model of all things. Sure you knew you at least had something going on, not helped by the countless times your teachers would say it, but you didn't feel worthy of being a model. You were met with slight caressing touch from rarity upon your shoulder, her scanning you with an eagerness you weren't quite sure about. "I don't see any issues with your look darling, you're simply perfect. That complexion could kill any woman and that hair of your's is by far your most attractive feature." "I guess you can count that but seriously, I don't even know how to model." "I'll teach you." You couldn't help but narrow your eyes at her. "There's no getting out of this is there." "You are mine to use as I please of course." she said, her eyes giving off a predatory glare like some kind of hungry serpent. It was kind of different from her usual self, something deep inside her seemed to turn her nice nature into a demanding princess. She was sure of her possession of you, not giving you a chance to even think about it before making you her play thing. This is her true nature it seemed. "I'm starting to think you're not as nice as you say you are." "Nonsense, I'm the nicest person in this school. Now, I believe Twilight is expecting you soon. I'll pack the outfits up, and provided you promise to keep your end of the deal, deliver them to you after school." Soon you found our way back into your regular clothes, the feeling of them compared to Rarity's clothes a bit underwhelming. As the two of them made their way out of the dressing area, Fluttershy quickly made her way back to your side. "You ready to go?" She simply nodded as Rarity took notice. "My my, what a interesting connection you two have. I've never seen her cling to somebody so suddenly before." "Yea, I can't explain it either." "Well don't let me keep you any longer, be on your way." "Right, thanks for the fashion lesson by the way." "Aucun problème, as long as you remember our deal." "Not like I have a choice." Without a moment to spare, you exited the room, Fluttershy in tow. You took notice of the doors around and without a second thought, instantly located Twilight's. Her door was, of course, outfitted like a lab door, a large pi symbol directly center of the window. You proceeded to knock on the door until a sign atop the door's frame got your attention. Press the button beside the door to get my attention. "She means this button here?" You said locating the button directly next to the door. Upon pressing it, a loud crash could heard from inside alongside the sound of Twilight silently cursing to herself. "This is what I get...just come in would ya." You and Fluttershy took your time entering as observed the room. the scheme of the room seemed to be a darker purple as the walls were shaded in multiple shades, the only thing different being the streaks of a pinkish violet line that went straight down the middle of the wall. On top of that, It was literally a pool of knowledge in here. On Twilight's desk was a desktop computer of unknown origin. As a game enthusiast, you pretty much had knowledge of a good portion of custom computers and what not, but that, that was something else. Next to her desk was a bookshelf filled to the brim with, well, books and on the other side, her bed. "You here Twilight?" "Give me a sec, just finishing up cleaning up this mess." A few moments passed before she appeared from what was her back area, swiping the curtain aside. "And her I was thinking you'd never show up." "Sorry, we got a little carried away." "We? Oh Fluttershy, I didn't think you'd be here too." "I came...to learn about all of you." "Learn...but like, you're the student council president. Don't you already know about us?" "She means your personal life." You quickly added. "As in your hobbies, likes, dislikes, that kind of thing." "Oh that makes much more sense, rock on. So do you know what I do?" "No, not exactly. We didn't really have a student council back in my school." "Well no need for me to lecture you about it. I'm the student vice president meaning whatever Fluttershy can't work into her plans, I take care of. Historian doesn't even need that much explaining really, I just took notes of everything we do." "I'm left to assume there is some sort of 'issue' with this role?" "Not really, least not for me. I'm pretty good at organizing what I need to get done, even on top of my own stuff." Fluttershy slowly examined the computer, her eyes following the curves and strange design of the monitor. "It...so strange." "Strange but effective. I can run the biggest and baddest programs out there, you name it. Downside of course, it's not cheap." "Like...a dozens bags of animal food expensive?" she said a sudden yet soft enthusiasm. "Well yes that is expensive but not quite. Try at least ten dozen bags of animal food." A gasp escaped Fluttershy, her hands covering her mouth in surprise. "Oh my...so...what can it do?" "I'll show you." Twilight said as she lept into the rolling chair and slid over to the computer. Upon turning on the screen and logging in, a large wallpaper met your eyes, of Twilight standing alongside Rarity, Starlight, and Rainbow Dash. They all donned those headphones that Fluttershy seemed so fond of, and they all had an instrument near them. The funny thing is that Fluttershy wasn't in the photo at all despite being the president. "Welcome to the wonderful rocking world of Twilight Sparkle." You couldn't help but take into account the dozen programs she had on her desktop dedicated to music. Some of them were supremely high end programs, costing anywhere from 100 to 130 bucks to acquire, others were simple and some were complex. It didn't take long for you to put two and two together. "You guys in some kind of band?" "I suppose no one told you?" "I mean I got the hint from the headphones but no not really." "Interesting." She said standing up. "Well then, it's time I let you know what's up." "What do you--" You were instantly cut off by Twilight taking a pose, her body leaning forward as her hand rested on her hip. "We are!" The other hand went in a noticeable arc over her head before flashing a sideways peace sign with her left eye in the center. That eye remained closed in between her fingers, as to give off the impression of a wink. "The Crystal Rainbooms!" A silence filled the air as you struggled to comprehend what you just witnessed. "The Crystal Rainbooms?" "Yep. We are, in simplest terms, the school's inspirational music group. Sure there are a few others, but we run the school as far as I know. Every member is given specifically designed headphones to match and that is our trademark look. If you see anyone wearing headphones like these, than most likely they're in our band." "So the student council is actually a music group? I would have never thought of that." you said in a sarcastic tone as if to follow some kind of cliche anime. "Don't be rude, I know all about your little band in your last school." "Wait what? H-how?" "I don't use these brains for nothing. I did my research, might have snuck into the principal's office, the usual." "Sneaking into the Principal's office is a usual thing for you? No offense but that's really creepy." "Eh." "Don't eh me, that's not what a normal student does and you know it." "Do you wanna hear some tunes or not?" You nodded as she proceeded to open a folder on her desktop. "This was our biggest hit last year but we've long since topped it. But I must warn you, alot of our songs are....anime-ish." "Anime-ish? How so?" "Well just listen." she said pressing the play button. Courage As the song washed away your mind, you felt a since of courage in that song. "Wow, that was actually pretty good." "You really think so?" "Well I've never been one for the genre of anime like songs except for maybe this one song I liked before we moved her, but I feel as though your music is a good start." "The Crystal Rainbooms thank you." "Say, what exactly are the roles in your group?" "Roles? Well if you mean who does what, then Rainbow is on the drums, Rarity is on the base, I'm on guitar and back up vocals, and Starlight is our illustrious lead singer." "You guys sure got a voice on you. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't lost in just that at first." "Oh you charmer you. Say, when you have time, do you perhaps want to watch us play?" You had to take that into account for a moment, your thoughts wondering to any plans you may have had but ultimately, none were that important. "I'm game if I get to hear more music, but I have a question. I'm seeing all of you, but what about Fluttershy?" "Good question." She said placing her head to rest on her hand. "What about you Fluttershy? We've been asking you for a year to join up with us just so we can get to know you." "Well...I'm not exactly...fond of....all those people..." She nervously uttered. "I...just can't breathe and my heart starts beating super fast and--" "A case of stage fright, I see now. You are naturally shy so this was expected. Tell you what, If you join up with us then we'll just work up to it, no need to embarrass you, sound good?" You had no idea Fluttershy was this shy. Her body tensed up at even the thought of her so called friends staring her down as she attempted to play. "I...don't know." "Pleaseeee?" Twilight begged as she gave Fluttershy the puppy dog eyes. "N-no!" she yelled her soft voice finally reaching a volume unlike which you had heard before. After a moment of letting that sink in, she opened her eyes, nervously looking at both you before closing them in fear. "I-I gotta go." Like a little bullet, she ran out of the room, quickly to her own, before shutting and locking the door. You couldn't help but annoyingly look at Twilight in her guilt. "Nice going." "Hey, don't put this on me, I didn't know she would take it that far." "Well now we know exactly she can be. Maybe dial it down next time instead of pushing it on her." "Duly noted. Any who, what's next?" "Well I assume she'll calm down soon enough. In the meantime, I'll head over to Starlight's." "I assume you'll get along quite nicely considering your love for female singers." And this, kids, is why shouldn't hang around people who love to snoop. "You're to nosy for your own good." "I am aware thank you." You couldn't help but sigh as you left the room. Twilight was a bit of an egghead on top of that rock out personality, easily more knowledgeable than anyone else in the school but ten times more nosy because of it. Hopefully she doesn't blab to anyone about that little mistake you made in your last school. You turned around, your gaze falling upon Fluttershy's door. Inside, she was just motionless at her desk, making little motions here and there as to not fall into complete boredom. You could tell she was more social than she'd like to be, but to break her out of that shell, you'd need to do something crazy enough to force her. With that, you made your way over the door left to Fluttershy's, which unlike the others, seemed strangely normal. No designs, no strange symbols, no character, just normal. You knocked a few times and waited. Strange enough, no one was coming to the door. You once again delivered a few knocks and realized the door was unlocked. Something was telling you not to enter so suddenly but you did so anyway. "Hello? Anyone in here?" Taking a step in, you realized the room was empty until a slight humming got your attention. Starlight appeared from beyond her curtain covered area wearing nothing but a pair of panties and very loose bra. As soon as your eyes met, your entire face matched the pink of your hair. Her eyes seemed to confusingly stare at you until she looked down and back up. They shot wide in realization, then narrowed at you in anger. "What do you think you're doing?" "I-I-I can explain, just hear me out." "I don't need an explanation, I need you to get out!" "S-sorry!" "Don't freaking just stand there!" she said grabbing you by your shirt and literally tossing you like a baby doll into Rarity's door. "Pervert!" she said closing the door. "Ow..." Within seconds, Rarity opened her door wondering what that sound was. "Oh my, are you ok Lotus?" "F-fine, just walked into a sticky situation is all." "Oh non, you didn't just walk into her room did you?" "M-maybe." As she helped you to your feet, she continued. "Perhaps someone should have warned you that she can be a bit...free with her body." "Definition of free?" "She is openly half naked in her room most of the time she's in there. Unlike me however, she's very self conscious of who sees here like that." "Those two statements completely contradict each other." "You're telling me. Quickly, here she comes. You best explain yourself." Rarity said closing her door. "Thanks for the advice I guess." You took a moment to crack your back and fix any other bone she may have popped out of place before approaching her door again. Her evil glare was almost instantaneous as she stepped into the doorway. "Uh...hey." "Don't you hey me. Wanna explain why you were peaking on me?" "I wasn't doing anything of that sort I promise. I knocked a couple times and when you didn't come to the door, I made the stupid decision of coming in." "Righhhht." she said in a sarcastic tone. "Well now that I'm dressed, you can come in now." "Uh right." As you entered, you were surprised that her room wasn't as decorated as the others. Her walls were plain white, a bookshelf stood next to her desk on the left side of the room and a bed on the right, covers and sheets themed after that famous singer, Rara. She had a brown rug and that was about it, save for the couple of notebooks on her desk, the few books she had in her bookshelf and the laptop sitting upon her desk. "Hmm?" "What?" She bluntly asked. "I'm just surprised is all. Your room isn't as fleshed out as the other's rooms, more normal than anything." "I didn't get time to decorate alright." She bluntly responded. "Do me a favor and just sit down somewhere, not on my bed." "Your room, your rules." You took your seat at the desk, watching as she returned to her bathroom. After a few moments, you took interest in the notebooks sitting on her desk, all marked with some kind of identifying name. The first was a diary, leaving that alone. The next was, of course, her ideas as a student representative, which you could assume she goes around and writes ideas for new events that the students want. The last one peaked you interest though, the name reading, Lyrics. You flipped through the pages with a sense of wonder, and soon came to one that you suddenly remembered. It was a song you remembered listening to with these same lyrics a long time ago. The minute they hit your brain, you could remember the tune, the way it was sung, everything. It was dated a year back and that was around the time you needed it. "What are you doing?" Starlight's voice faded in as you came back to reality. "I said what the heck are you doing?" "I was just..." "Snooping again?!" "Well yea, but not for what you think." She growled a bit before sighing. "Explain?" "Well, Twilight showed me the band you guys are in. When she told me you were the lead singer, I couldn't help but admire your voice. You sound so into your music as if your the person in the stories that the lyrics talk about. When I saw the book on the table, I couldn't help but snoop a bit." "Next time ask pervert." she said snatching the book away from you. A moment later, her expression seemed a bit curious yet concerned. "Um...what did you think?" "About the lyrics? Well, I really liked the soul you pour into it, the start of a great writer I always say. But there was one set of lyrics that got my attention, the one with the title, 'On a journey'." "On...a journey? I don't know what you're talking about." "Then what's this file on your laptop." you said double clicking the file. "No!" She screamed as she attempted to quickly close only to fall flat in front of you. On a journey As the words flowed through the room, you felt a sense of release envelop you, a sense of peace. It was this song that you remembered. With it's end, Starlight shot up, her eyes narrowed and her face incredibly blushed. "Y-you...weren't supposed to hear that..." "W-why? I don't see anything wrong, you sounded great, and the incorporation of the male singer, a good addition." "S-shut up..." "But..." "Just be quiet, I don't want to hear it. Get out and don't ever come back." "Hold up Starlight, I didn't mean for it escalate this quickly." "I said," she said shoving me out the door. "Get out!" "That was...different." As you realized what happened, you were left mentally sore. Not only were attacked twice upon entering said school, but now three girls are completely confused with you. You couldn't tell what Starlight's problem was, that song was amazing. It was surreal to listen to it again, the sound of her voice echoing through your mind and your soul. That was her voice, the same voice that got you through the time before the move. Things weren't always rainbows and sunshine back then, your mom wasn't that pure example of happiness. She would try her best sure but there were times where the frustration of raising two kids on her own seemed to have confusing effects, the long nights of her coming home drunk, the constant arguments she would start on a daily basis. You only had one outlet and that always involved a set of headphones." "Idiot..." A voice called out from beside the door. You barely noticed it's presence, and even less, knew who it belonged to until you turned your head. "R-Rainbow, what are you doi--" you barely managed to get out before she grabbed your shirt and ripped you away from your position. "Just get a move on already, we need talk." Author's Note As it seems your focus falls on three separate characters at once, I assure you, this story is about Lotus and Fluttershy, but what's an anime like story without building up the characters? Till the end of the day A low growl angrily escaped Rainbow as she sat legs crossed on a desk, staring directly at you. She had insisted with her strength more than anything to pull you to a discreet classroom on the lower floor and promptly lock the door. You had no choice but cower a few desks away, never letting your eyes stray and shivering like a coward. "Can I go?" "No." She bluntly answered. "Not until you answer my question." "I already answered it." "And I didn't believe it so try again. What are you doing here?" she said reaffirming that menacing scowl. "Am I not here to learn the art of life?" "Still not giving me the real reason huh?" "I am, I swear." you said lowering yourself behind a desk in fear. All she could do is sigh in her attempts. "Just spit it out already. Why did you follow me here?" "I'm sorry follow?" "Yea, I said follow. You think anyone would give up some cushy position at a school like Everfree Prep?" Now the stakes were a bit more understandable, your last school was indeed...cushy. "I had my own reasons for leaving that school." you said finally taking to a full stand. "I just didn't fit in there." "Oh don't you even bother mister money out the butt. Everyone that went to that school was completely loaded, and let's not forget that they were treated better on top of that." "Rainbow, the only reason you didn't quote unquote 'fit in' is because you never made the effort to even get to know us, the only people who talked to you." "You know what, I was gonna settle this but it looks like you're still stuck up as usual. Go see Fluttershy or something, I don't care." With that, she took her leave, effectively slamming the door upon her exit. "Talk about a waste of time when you don't even wanna listen to me. I should go check on Fluttershy though." As you exited the room and proceeded up the stairs, your curiosity was drawn to Starlight's room. The faint sound of her singing echoed ever so slightly through her door peeking your interest. She was singing the song. "I wonder why she's so embarrassed about that. Won't find out by barging in again, man that hurt." With a quick step to Fluttershy's door, you knocked on her door. Quick she was to open the door, your hand the source of contact before she whipped you inside her room. "Lotus." she quietly squealed as she wrapped her arms around you. A giggle escaped you in the moment. "Someone missed me." "Well, it's just...I saw starlight kick you into that door and then Rainbow pulled you away all quick and suddenly I couldn't think." Her actions became a bit frantic, constantly pacing back and forth while she nervously played with her hands. You felt obligated to stop her, shifting her eyes to meet yours. "Hey calm down Fluttershy, I'm fine. I've taken more punishment than this from my little sister on a daily basis, this is nothing." "So you're getting hurt at home too?" "No no, not seriously, just take a breath would ya?" With a slow inhale, she released her breath, letting her eyes upon doing so. "Alright alright, i'm ok." You have to admit, it was quite interesting to see her so worried for your well being, kinda like a certain little brat of a sister. "Ok now let's keep that composure shall we?" "Right. So what's next?" "Um...nothing actually. I've seen everyone that I was supposed to and learned what they do on and off the job, except for Starlight." you said nervously scratching your cheek. "She kicked me out when I mentioned that song." Fluttershy's shoulders dropped in response, her gaze falling to the window. "And it's still morning too." "Seriously?" you said checking your phone. "Only 12:30, We still got like 3 hours." As you took a rest on her bed, you couldn't help but notice the rather large pen beneath her desk. You hadn't noticed it before, even with all the time you spent in her room. "Is that a...doghouse?" "Oh no, I forgot to cover that back up." she said quickly running and standing in front of your view. "Just forget you saw anything." "But it's right there." you said leaning to the right a bit. Once again she readjusted to block your view. "I don't know what your talking about." Unless your seriously stupid, which you're not, that is indeed a doghouse. What kind of dog would Fluttershy even have anyway? A small dog to compliment her own height, maybe even a big boxer or German shepherd to cuddle with and protect her? These are the questions. "I know a doghouse when I see one Fluttershy." "That's a science project." Ok, that one wasn't even a good attempt. You thought. "A...science project? Listen to yourself." "Oh stupid stupid..." she said as she frustratingly shook her head. "It's not like it's illegal to own a dog Fluttershy, it's actually crazy responsible and soothing." "Well...I was hoping no one would find out." She seemed to have a believable amount of guilt in her expression, almost to the point of crying. "I don't see why, people love dogs." "I'm not supposed to own one on campus." "Oh, that makes much more sense. Wait if no one supposed to know about him--" "Her." "Right, if no one supposed to know about her then where is she?" "In her house of course, she's been sleeping there since a couple of hours ago." "Are you sure, cause that house sounds pretty quiet." Her curiosity now seemed peaked, her eyes worried as they scanned the house. "I...maybe it's time to feed her. Angel?...Angel are you o--" She stopped, her entire person froze and her eyes widened. "You ok?" She shook her head. "She's not in there is she?" "N-no...no no no no, where is she where is she?" "Hey calm down, just tell me what she looks like and we'll find her." "I can't calm down, if anyone finds her than--" "Fluttershy please, just take a moment to calm do-" "I can't calm down, she's my everything, my apartment won't let me have her and if the school finds her--" You could see it her eyes, the absolute desperation to find her beloved dog. You hadn't seen fear on someone's face since...the day you lost your dog. You sprang into action quickly placing your arms around her and pulling her in. With a low voice, you spoke. "Calm down Fluttershy, just take a moment to breathe." Her frantic state began to dissipate, her breathing slowed and a warmness began to emanate from her. "B-but..." "We'll find her Fluttershy, don't you worry. Just breathe in...now out...in...now out." You repeated those words over and over, again and again, seemingly luring Fluttershy's worry into a sense of peace as she followed with every instruction. "Breathe in...out...in...out. Good, keep it going Fluttershy." Must have felt like a eternity before her breathing returned to a normal pace, her eyes pulling back to stare at you. "T-thank you, I'm really sorry for that." "Hey we all have our worries especially when it comes to dogs. Now, how about we search for her ok?" She gave a quick nod as you finally released her. "Now if I'm not mistaken, I hear a faint sound of breathing coming from right," you said as you dipped your head under the bed. "Here." Your eyes lay upon a small Pomeranian with golden fur. Fluttershy gasped as she peeked under the bed with you, her expression excited and happy at the drop of a dime. "Angel, I can't believe you were under the bed this whole time." She tried to reach for her until you stopped her arms ever so gently. "I think she's enjoying sleeping under there Fluttershy, seems cozy." "Oh, well..." "Don't worry, I'm sure she just wanted a change of scenery. Come on, I say we go see Ms. Cherilee for a while, what do you say?" "I suppose I could let her sleep, but first I need to refill her food and water." Fluttershy quickly jogged over to kitchen, the sound of the cabinets opening followed by the sound of a large bag being plopping on the floor. A few moments passed before you realized exactly how long it was taking Fluttershy, making you realize the sounds of her straining to move the bag it seemed. You made your way to her and your assumption came to pass. "Do you need help with that?" "N-no, I'm fine really." "It just seems a little heavy is all." "I...got it..." At this point it was kinda funny yet sad to watch her attempt to pull this bag full of food across the floor. You couldn't just sit there and watch. Your hand reached out and grabbed the bag by it's top prompting a pout from Fluttershy. "H-hey, I said I could do it." "I believe you." "Then why are you helping me?" "Well, I don't think the amazing Fluttershy needs to waste time on such a light bag of food." That's never going to work on her. "Y-you really think I'm strong?" Holy crap it did work. "Y-yea, just save your strength and let me handle it." Her hand released the bag and she made her way back into the main room with you in tow, the bag over your shoulder. "I shall provide the water than." You slowly made your way over to the two bowls sitting side by side on the floor and began to pour food into one while Fluttershy took the other and filled it with water. Like clockwork, the small little golden pomeranian shot from under the bed, her entire body happily jumping and yipping at the bag as it poured into the bowl. Within seconds, she was devouring as much as she could, her little mouth going at the food as if it were her last. I swear I see that dog licking it's lips. Fluttershy soon returned with the water placing it down next to the food as she hummed happily at her dog. "Angel, you came out just for this didn't you? Greedy dog you, but still so cute." The dog must have ate at least half that food before getting in a good minute of water. Sure can put it down can't she? The dog finally returned to Fluttershy's lap, happily wagging and looking up at her owner. "It's good to see you too Angel but there's someone I want you to meet." Her two arms wrapped around the dog and brought her to her chest in a cute fashion, facing you. "This is Lotus Angel, say hi." The dog only stared at you in confusion. "Maybe it doesn't like me?" "It hasn't even gotten to know you yet, let's try something different." She placed the dog on the ground and awaited it's eventual advance toward you. It stalled, it's lime green eyes only staring at you even more so than before. As if fate was forcing your move, you reached out to greet it only to hear the sound of the door opening. "Hey Fluttershy I--" Twilight's voice called out before the dog quickly sped past you and her like a bullet. "What the--" "Oh crap!" you called instantly standing up. "Was that a dog?" "No time to explain Twilight, Fluttershy come on!" The two of you bolted out the door in pursuit, quickly making your way into the hallway. "Downstairs." Fluttershy motioned to you as she was already on her way. Following her, you instantly spotted the small dog running down the hallway towards the main classroom. We might be able to talk Twilight down but if Ms. Cherilee sees it we're done for. Fluttershy instantly took off, her mind seemingly dedicated to catching her dog. You, of course, were left in the dust. It was like night and day with her, her feet taking off like an Olympic track star was pulling her along. "Go around to the other side Lotus." she quickly ordered as she took off around another corner. With no hesitation, you bolted back the opposite way, hoping to cut it off as it circled around once again. With a unrivaled cockiness, you slid into the hallway, the dog hastily running towards you with Fluttershy at it's heels. "No where to go Angel." That dog sure knew how to make you regret those words. As it neared you took a step, your hands extended to catch it as it seemingly jumped into them, or so you thought. With the skills of some kind of military canine, she planted her paws on your face quickly jumping in the opposite direction. Fluttershy attempted to use that to catch it mid air only to lose her footing and crash into you sending you both to the floor. The dog quickly ran over you, almost on purpose, as it jumped to an open window. Time slowed, both your eyes widened as the dog was set to escape. It was over. Until a hand promptly launched up and snatched the dog right from her escape. Standing next the window was now, an extremely pissed off Rainbow Dash. "You sure got some explaining to do Lotus. When you two get done with...whatever this is...I'll be in Twilight's room." The two of you only made the realization the moment she left, her complete form sitting gracefully upon yours. Her face instantly lit up with red, and yet, her eyes never left yours. "Um....we should probably get up now..." With a small yip, she flew to her feet, brushing herself off as she nervously looked away. "S-sorry I..." "It's ok, I blame Angel." You said with a chuckle. "R-right...speaking of Angel...you kinda have..." It sounded like she was attempting to point something out but the words froze in her mouth behind a slight chuckle. Rising to your feet, you couldn't help give her an awkward expression. "What's up." "Well..." she began behind yet another stifled laugh. "You should see for yourself." You whipped out your phone and turned on the camera. Across your face in straight line were two distinct paw prints, obviously from Angel. "Well, this sucks." "I'm sorry for not pointing it out...earlier." she said turning away from you. "No need to be sad about it Flutter--Are you laughing?" "N-no." she couldn't help but utter under her snickers. "I see what I've become to you." you said taking a step away. "I'm just gonna clean my face and be on way." A few seconds passed before she finally noticed how far away you were getting. "N-no wait, I didn't mean it." "No no, it's fine, just laugh it up." you said continuing to walk away. Within a few seconds, she quickly took hold of your arm, wrapping her own around yours. You let out a few chuckles before realizing her sudden change of tone. "Please, I'm sorry i'm sorry, I didn't mean it..." Her emotions shifted so suddenly from one to the next, she was cracking up just a moment ago and now, it just makes you feel guilty. Even so, you let out a few chuckles before placing a hand on her shoulder. "Don't be, now let's go get chewed out by Rainbow." "Oh dear...I almost forgot about that." "So did I Fluttershy, so did I." A minute later, you were dead center of Twilight's room, Rainbow and Twilight staring you down with their respective expressions. Rainbow with her usual 'I need to kill something' look and Twilight, a smile, her head bopping to the beat of her headphones. "Twilight." Rainbow called as she tapped her. "Would you be serious for a second?" "What's there to be serious about?" "The fact that Fluttershy snuck a dog into the school." "Oh right that." She removed her headphones and proceeded to listen. "So what in the world made you think it was a good idea to bring a dog into the school?" Fluttershy only winced at the question, her entire body tense at it's arrival to hear ears, her fist balled up in fear. "I...I didn't think anyone would find out." "You're lucky I caught her before she bailed out the window. You of all people should know the rules here Fluttershy, you're the student council president after all." "I know...I'm...s-sorry." Oh crap, now she's starting to cry. "Can't you take it home or something?" "My apartment...doesn't allow dogs...and I just thought that maybe I could keep it...here...if no one found out." "Well now that we know, we can't keep it. Either you're going to have to give it to someone who can take care of it or..." "N-no please Rainbow, I need her. She's...my everything right now." "Then what are we supposed to do?" "I don't know..." "Rules are rules Fluttershy." "I..." "I'll inform Ms. Cherilee and--" Enough of this. "You know what Rainbow, you're the last person I would thought to be a stickler for the rules." you boldly state standing up. "Not to mention that you're not being very reasonable at all." "Not reasonable? You don't get to talk about reasonable you preppy rich kid." "I can't help but wonder if your sudden interest in being a goody goody has to do with me being here. Do you think I'll apologize just because I think you're better than me?" "Stop talking Lotus, you know exactly what went down back then." "I do, and for once, I'm trying to make amends." "I don't care!" "Yes you do, else you wouldn't be so mad!" Her eyes still seemed to draw upon her inner anger as she stared you down. Your eyes of course, returned the stare never letting up for a second. That is until you heard the sound of Fluttershy crying. You turned to see her cowering a few feet away crouched down in the fetal position. Rainbow noticed as well and immediately drew back to leaning against a wall a simple grunt escaping her. "Listen you two," Twilight began. "It doesn't matter who's dog it is, we still have to tell Ms. Cherilee. Thankfully, I'll be the one talking to her, who knows, maybe I can persuade her to come to an agreement. Lotus if you could stay here and get Fluttershy to chill out." You nodded. "Alright then, Rainbow Dash come on." "Whatever." She mumbled before following Twilight out of the room, Angel still in her arms. You let out a sigh as you knelt down to accompany Fluttershy, her head still tucked neatly in her knees. "Fluttershy...Are you ok?" No response came as she seemed ignore you. "Come on Fluttershy, please talk to me." "Y-you...y-you guys were fighting and..." "Look, there's no need to cry. We're ok now, I promise." "I-I k-know you're gonna fight again, I just..." "Fluttershy come here." you say gently extending your hand. She looks up, her eyes pouring with tears as she assess the situation. "Come on, I won't bite." She takes a moment to think before giving a gentle nod and placing her hand into yours. You slowly pull her into your embrace, taking in the heat she is radiating as she sobs into your shirt. Y-you're warm...It feels n-nice." You let out a chuckle as the time seems to pass a bit. "Can I tell you a story about the first time I cried Fluttershy?" "Mmmhmm..." "Well, when I first cried, I was 12 years old." "12 y-years old...I cried at 3 years old." "You could say I was a pretty stubborn kid. Back then, we had a bit of a issue with out classmates. My sister was always so cheery and energetic that nothing could ever get to her, she is in fact the embodiment of happiness. Me on the other hand, people saw my pink tips and girly complexion and thought, hey that kid would be fun to pick on every single day of his life. No one year was the same. First it was just as simple as calling me a girl on 'accident', then next year they were calling me a trap or cross dresser for wearing a boy's uniform. They teased and annoyed me constantly, bought me skirts and hair products, it was unbearable. While I do secretly thank them for all that, my sister loved them, I wasn't so fond of it when It was directly implied that I was the girl. I switched classes, took different routes home, and all together stayed inside my house." "T-that's horrible...I couldn't imagine that." "That is until my mom found out and began fighting my battles for me. She would tell parents and scold the children for picking on me just because I looked a little more girlish than others. She was amazing." "Your mom...she must have been your hero growing up." "She was the idol of our entire lives. My sister always tried to be as happy as she was, mission accomplished. Me, I always looked up to her bravery, her courage in the face of being different. Instead of the usual business attire she's supposed to wear, she would wear bright colored clothes that would make anyone perk up, like a visual coffee. When everyone would get sushi, she would get a burger. When she got fired for not wearing the correct attire, she would bounce back to another job just like that." "Your m-mom was amazing." "Yep, she was. She just breathed pure excellence, that is until...she got a call from her mother that her father had passed away." "Oh my..." "My mom always looked up to him, adopted his personality of absolute energy. To hear he was dead, to see his body at the funeral, it was...devastating. She took to wearing actual uniform suddenly, she was distant and detached and some nights, even came home drunk. We couldn't figure it out for the life of us why she suddenly looked broken, so...normal. Still she fought my battles but they would escalate even more than they used to. She would almost be ready to fight other parents even if a solution had already been agreed upon. She was changing for the worse. One day, I was at the park against my better wishes, and there she was, sitting on the bench watching me. She smiled but it was weak, unfulfilled. Those boys showed up again and began picking on me and within a second, I was on the ground and hoping she would see. She didn't...for so long they simply threw insult after insult until finally, I heard her voice yell at them. They scattered like ants and before long, she was helping me up. I cried for the first time desperately to her, the first time I ever truly let them get to me. I'll never forget the words she said to me." "What were they?" "Crying is a sign of giving in and as pie's, we don't give in. Don't let anyone ever make you feel like who you are is wrong. You are who you are for a reason, and that's so the world can see who how unique you are." Fluttershy looked up to you, her eyes finally void of any more tears. "I think that your mom was a very inspirational woman." "Thank you, I hope that cheered you up." She gave a warm smile as she finally stood up. "It did. I didn't want to see you two fight but..." "It's ok Fluttershy. Just promise me the next time you want to cry, don't give in, don't let them see that they get to you." She brought hands to her chest and slowly nodded. "I promise. And...I also promise to not let anyone tell me what I love is wrong, I love animals, and that's what I'm going to tell Ms. Cherilee. But tell me, are you going to fight with Rainbow again?" "I really don't want to if it's going to make you sad, I'm just gonna avoid her until we can settle this." "Thank you really, I hate seeing friends fight." "My pleasure, now let's go get your dog back." "Oh yes, Angel needs to exercise." "Still trying to keep her on her schedule huh?" "Just because she got found out doesn't mean I can't be a good pet owner." "Hehe, cute." You two quickly made your way downstairs, taking a deep breath simultaneously as you entered the main room. "Ms. Cherilee we can expla--" "Who's a good girl, who's a good girl?" Is what came from Cherilee's mouth the second you entered. "Oh Fluttershy there you are. You're the one that brought this adorable little girl into our school aren't you?" Fluttershy nodded. "She's so cute, what's her name?" "A-Angel?" "Oh Angel, and that name seems to suit you suit so well, doesn't it baby? Now about the no pets rule." Both of you tensed up at the possible exile of the dog. "It's overlooked for this one." You couldn't help but scramble a few syllables together in a jumbled mess. "C-come again?" "Well, I figure the student council president needs a little relief every once in a while with all the work she has to do. So, I'm overlooking the rule this one time. Fluttershy, if you promise to take care of little Angel here, clean up, walk her, and so on, you can keep her." Like a bullet, Fluttershy shot over wrapping her arms around Cherilee and frantically jumping up and down. "Oh my gosh, thank you thank you thank you." "No problem deary. Just make sure she doesn't almost get loose like earlier." "Oh..." she realized at that moment. "You saw?" "Every minute of every frantic second. And Lotus, you still have paw prints on your face." Wait really? "Wait really?" you said pulling out your phone. You could let out a defeated sigh as you exited the room, both of them giggling in the background. The rest of the hours passed before finally, the final bell rung to signal everyone to go home. As you exited the building and waved goodbye to the rest of the council, you began home. Your mind was heavily centered around what you had told Fluttershy. About how your mom was so full of life and energy and suddenly there she was practically ready to dropkick people out of any anger she felt. As you arrived at your apartment complex, you were quick to notice Pinkie walking down from the opposite direction. "Big brother!" she called out as she waved at you. You returned the wave and the two of you hastily made your way up the stairs to your apartment. You unlocked the door and watched as she bolted in first, literally dropping like a rock onto the floor. Your apartment was a bit fancy to give in to Rainbow's accusations. It was a short hallway that led to a large living room. To the left, a glass table, 3 couches, one in front and two on either sides of the table, and a decent sized TV hanging on the wall. On both adjacent side of TV were large shelves that held your mom's obsessions such as movies, games, and a wide assortment of shot glasses she had collected over the years. To the right was another hallway leading down to all three of your rooms. Separated by a wall on the other side was the kitchen, with a counter that blocked off most of the entrance to it. It was a decently sized kitchen however so there was plenty of room to move around. "How was your day because mine was superfantistical." she excitedly stated. "Is that even a word Pinkie?" "Sure it is." she said with such a sure tone. "Sure it is." you replied with a sarcastic tone. "It was nice, I got to meet some really nice people today." "Some?" "Yea, some." You said heading over to the kitchen. Upon opening the fridge, you were met with a playful slap to your butt. "H-hey, watch you where you're hitting." "You can't lie to me big brother, I know a lie when I see it." "Sounds right considering you're the king of telling them." "Am not. Anywho, who's the girl?" "Why does it have to be a girl every time?" "Because you're a lonely sad soul and you really need to get out there." She sure can be blunt when she wants to be. You closed the fridge and proceeded to move her out of the way to go sit on the couch. As soon as you sat down, there she was right next you. "How in the world do you do that?" "Pinkie logic." "Right...well just so you know, there are alot of girls I met, no one is that special." "I think you're in denial." "Am not." "Are too." "Don't you have anything else to do?" "It was the first day of school you butt." Right, I could have figured out how stupid that sounded. "Ugh fine." You proceeded to tell her about the council, what the members were like and what happened throughout the day. "Sounds to me like you like this Fluttershy girl." "Technically, I think it's the other way around. She clung to me like I was the only person around all day." "But?" "But what?" "You don't sound disappointed." "Well...I'm not gonna say I didn't enjoy it but it was interesting to say the least. I even cheered her up at one point." "Lotus has got a girlfriend, Lotus has got a girlfriend!" "You're childish." "I'm a child duh." "Well how was your day?" "Oh oh, I met the nicest trio of girls when I got there." She explained like a speed star how some girls named Applebloom, Scootaloo, and Sweetie belle took her on a tour of the school the minute she got there. They introduced her to most of the students and 'they were so nice' she would say. Except for two girls named Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon who seemed to have some kind of rivalry with them. Later, she found out that the girls had given their help to Pinkie against the better wishes of 'The Principle Luna' she said as if it was some kind of royal title. After that, she met her homeroom teacher, a pretty chill and yet chaotic guy by the name of Discord. "I don't think I like that Discord Guy, he sounds like the type of teacher to get you guys into more trouble than prevent it." "But he's so cool, he taught me how to invent a party cannon and everything. Do you know how much more fun people's lives would be with that? It shoots confetti!" "That sounds like an easy way to get suspended." "Says you mister no fun." "I can have fun, when it's not borderline illegal." "Yea right." You and her must have bickered over the day for a few hours before the orange and purple of the horizon made it's known through the patio window. "It's getting pretty late." "Where is mom?" "You know, I don't know. She should have been home hours ago. I just hope she's not getting drunk again." "I know mom, she wouldn't do something like that." "You and me both have seen her come home drunk on countless occasions Pinkie, stop trying to act like everything's sunshine and rainbows." "What do you mean?" "I mean mom is being dumb right now." "Mom. is not. dumb. She is..." "What do you call a week before the move Pinkie? She was flat out drunk at 12 o'clock at night. She came home stumbling and slurring her words." "Shut up..." "I can't help but think you refuse to see the truth." "I said shut up! Our mom is the pinnacle of innocence." "If innocence means getting wasted off her ass and leaving me to take care basically all alone, then yes she's innocent." A loud smack ran through the complex, Pinkie's eyes staring at you with a rage unlike any you had seen before. With a streak of tears, she bolted to her room, leaving you with a fresh hand print to your cheek. You held it with no surprise that it stung, it was no surprise at all. You sighed slumping down to your back as you closed your eyes. "What happened to us..."
