Bank of Equestria: Canterlot Branch
Chapter One: Robbery
By: TheCrazyAsian A.K.A. Feasttalon
For some reason I felt like writing something violent for a change instead of something all fluffy.
It was a cool autumn morning, a few days before Princess Celestia would declare the start of winter. But this wouldn't be any ordinary day, at least not in Canterlot. It had taken months but a group of professional bank robbers known as the Black Hoof had planned the impossible, a robbery of the Canterlot Branch of the Bank of Equestria. The member of the group are: Short Fuse, Rapid Fire, Long Shot, and Broken Glass.
Now the Canterlot Branch wasn't like most banks, sure they had security systems, vaults, and such, but the Canterlot Branch was the bank for the rich and powerful so saying that there was extra security was an understatement. At anytime there would be approximately 15 guards in the front of the bank and another 15 in the back, there were direct video uplinks to the Canterlot Police that would be triggered by: explosions, gunfire, and hidden alarms, and state of the art security systems. Because of that no one had every even dared to try and rob the bank. Plus even if you did manage to get pass security you'd still have to somehow get the 10" thick steel vault door open.
The gang chose today to rob the bank as it was a Sunday and the number of security guards in total was reduced by 10. They exited their safehouse at the edge of Canterlot and began their journey downtown, it would take about 15 minutes. They were all wearing suits and carrying attache cases with their weapons and ski masks hidden inside.
The first one to get out of the house was Short Fuse, a brown colored earth pony with a dynamite stick cutie mark. Next was Rapid Fire, a grey unicorn with an SMG cutie mark. Then Long Shot and Broken, pegasus and earth pony respectively with crosshairs and a broken bottle cutie marks.
"Okay, we're headed to the Canterlot Branch fo the Bank of Equestria." Long Shot commanded.
"Why don't you stop treating us like dumb-asses, we all know where we're going." Glass commented.
"Just shut up Glass!", Long Shot retorted.
" Now remember the plan, Short Fuse and I will manage the employees, while you two handle the civilians." said Rapid Fire. He pointed at the pony every time he said their name. By now all of the members had memorized the plan so this was just a last minute review.
"Just remember if anypony tries to pull anything funny you put them down, hard." added Glass.
"I don't think that you really need to go that far,", said Long Shot, "You can just shoot them in the hoof or something." Long Shot was always the one who wanted to avoid killing anypony else, at least when it was up close and personal.
"Does it matter, just shoot them and let the paramedics worry about if they die.", Short Fuse said.
"Just stop arguing, what is important is that we can blow open the fucking vault door", Long Shot chimed in, "Fuse, are you sure you can do it because I don't want to go through all this shit without getting any money."
"I got enough Composition B 1 to get us into anything they throw at us.", Fuse said.
"B 1, what the hell is that." Glass asked.
"It's some dumb-ass name he picked up for Semtex." Shot said.
"It doesn't matter, what I can say is that what I have here will get us through the vault door without blowing everything in the vault sky-high." Fuse said.
"Okay, so once we get this situation under control upstairs you two go downstairs on take care of the rest of the guards and blow open the vault.", Long Shot instructed.
"Then say hello to your early retirement. I don't know about the rest of you, but I can't wait to see Celestia's face plastered on those 100 bit notes." Fuse interrupted.
"Long Shot what are you gonna with your cut?", Rapid Fire asked.
"I think I'm going to get a nice house in Cloudsdale, settle down 'cause I'm getting to old for this shit.", Long Shot replied.
"Glass, what are you going to do?" Fuse asked.
"I'm going to Las Pegasus!" Glass said.
"That's just like you Glass, drinking and gambling all of your bits away." Rapid Fire added.
"Okay Mr. High and Mighty, what are you doing with your money?" Glass retorted.
"I think I'm going to buy a house in Celestopolis next to my cousin, I think his name's Burn Out." Rapid Fire replied.
"Hey, dumb-asses, we're here." Long Shot said and pointed at the bank. There, at the entrance, were 5 security guards standing outside next to a double door leading into the bank. Above all of that was a large red sign that said Bank of Equestria. They then walked past the bank into an alley next to it where they donned their maks and readied their weapons.
"Remember we go in and get out within 10 minutes, don't fool around and taunt the civilians or the employees, don't waste time doing stupid shit, and try not to get killed." Long Shot instructed. The others in the group nodded their heads and began walking towards the front entrance on the bank.
"Show time ladies!" Short Fuse said. They then rushed out of the alley and began their heist. All but one of the security guards guarding the door were immediately cut down in a barrage of fire from Rapid Fire. The one remaining guard drew his pistol but was quickly dispatched, with a shot to the forehead from Long Shot.
The group then burst into the bank and Long Shot yelled, "Get down on the fucking floor!" All of the civilians complied and dropped down on their stomachs, and so did a few of the guards. The guards that didn't were again mowed down by Rapid Fire, who's SMG sent pieces of hot lead ripping through their bodies, tearing through organs, bones and tendons. Splattering the walls and floor behind them with blood and pieces of tissue.
Now that the guards were dead "Change of plans, Glass and Rapid you stay up here and handle crowd control, me and Fuse will go to the vault", Long Shot commanded.
"You pieces of shit better not try anything or I'll fucking kill you. Understood?", Glass yelled. In his eyes was pure rage, as if he was ready to kill everyone in the bank at that very moment. That's what made him so good at controlling people, he made you feel like if you didn't do what he said he'd murder you.
At this point Long Shot and Fuse made their way to the front of the room, threatening the tellers until one of them opened the door. Then the pair walked into the room and Fuse told all the employees, "Stand up and walk out of this room to the lobby, anyone who resists will be shot!". All the bank employees immediately complied and walked out of the room. After that they opened the door and ran down the staircase leading to the vault area. When they got to the bottom of the staircase it was obvious that the remaining guards had barricaded themselves inside the hallway leading to the vault.
This was evident due to the spray of gunfire that almost killed Long Shot, who thank to his reflexes was able to back up when he saw the guards. "Fuse stay back", he shouted. While hiding behind the thick concrete he started taking blind shots at the guards while screaming, "Just put your guns down and no one needs to get hurt!" Though they didn't stop shooting at the duo so he had no choice but to try and kill them. Miraculously he was able to kill the guard closest to them with 12 gauge slug to the face, rendering him unrecognizable, bits of brain and bone splattered all around him. Long Shot then ran forwards to take cover behind a concrete column in the middle of the hallway.
At this point Fuse took Long Shot's old spot and starting firing down the hallway. Then another guard, farther down the hall, stuck his head up to try and shoot Fuse but was shot twice, once in the let eye and once on his cheek, while Fuse was shouting, "Die mother fuckers, die!" Once he fell to the floor his head was sticking out and you could see blood pouring out of his mangled eye socket, it formed a nice little pool under his head.
Their next victim was a guard hiding behind a concrete pillar, they didn't even need to wait for him to pop out, they just blasted the concrete with enough bullets to make it crumble, exposing the coward hiding behind it. He took a full blast from Fuse's SMG, he collapsed on the floor, splattering it with specks of blood.
Now there were only four more guards left, and they were all hiding behind a stack of safety deposit boxes that had been turned on it side into a makeshift barricade, occasionally sticking their guns up and blind-firing. Most of the duo's gunfire either missed or was absorbed by the steel boxes. "Shit Fuse you got anything to take care of this?"
"Yes, Yes I do." he replied. He then took out a rather sizable chunk of an off-white substance, presumably some sort of explosive. On it were some wires, a timer with 0:10 on it and below that a red button.
"Are you sure that isn't overkill, doesn't it seem excessive for four guards?" Long Shot asked.
"Just trust me." Fuse replied.
"The last time I did that I lost the hearing in my right ear!" Long Shot shouted, "You don't exactly inspire confidence!"
"Just shut up and let me do what I'm good at!" Fuse retorted. Fuse then pressed the red button and waited for 6 seconds before throwing the deadly package down the hall and towards the guards.
"What the buck are you doing you incompetent buffoon?", Long Shot yelled in shock. But it was too late, the improvised grenade landed right behind the guards, and before any of them had time to run it exploded, sending pieces of ripped flesh going all over the place. The end of the hall was now coated with blood and guts. It colored walls and floor as it some one had blown up a bucket of red paint.
Long Shot had a look of surprise on his face, as he was expecting half of the room to be blown up along with the security guards. "Nice one Fuse", Long Shot said," Now why don't you go blow up that vault door". The pair now slowly trotted down the hall, admiring their work. Fuse wanted to take picture of the scene, and frame it up on his wall, something that he would show to all of his friends.
Meanwhile upstairs, Rapid Fire was going from teller window to teller window, emptying their drawers of all the money they had. Then he heard a bang, not one of gunfire from downstairs or an explosion, but the sound of a gunshot from the lobby. He turned around and ran out of the door and saw Glass on the floor bleeding from his chest.

"Shit! Broken bucking Glass. What the hell happened," Rapid Fire shouted. He then saw a police officer above Glass pointing a gun at his head.
The officer was shouting something along the lines of "Get out of here," while also talking into a radio on his right shoulder. The civilians who, had been under the injured robber's control, were now streaming out of the front entrance of the building at the urging of the police officer. The officer seemed completely oblivious to the fact that one of Glass' accomplices was looking right at him, with an intent to murder him.
Rapid fire took his SMG and flicked a switch on the side to switch the gun to semi-automatic mode. His usual tactics of just spraying a large volume of bullets on his assailants wouldn't work here, as it would have just a good a chance of killing Glass as killing the officer. He brought up the gun, he then did the best he could to aim at the officer, aiming for center mass instead of the head. After that three shots rang out in quick succession.
The bullets sailed through the air, with one of them striking the officer in the chest and a second one hitting him in the neck due to recoil. The first shot lodged somewhere in the body, while the second exited his neck pulling a mixture of blood and bones with it, before lodging somewhere in the wall. The third bullet went wild and somehow broke a glass panel on the skylight.
Rapid Fire shouted "Get back down on the floor or, I swear to Celestia and all that is holy, I will drop all of you one by one! Am I understood?!" The remaining hostages in the bank immediately dropped to the floor, afraid that they were going to themselves die, like the police officer and the numerous security guards.
He walked up to Broken Glass, went on his knees, and said "Don't worry you're going to live. We'll get you out of here with all the bits and get you patched up." Broken Glass just mumbled something unintelligible, and curled up in a ball around his wound. Rapid Fire then took off his jacket and gave it to Glass, instructing him to keep it pressed against the wound and to stay there.
Rapid Fire stood up, and looked around the room and saw that about three-quarters of the original hostages were gone. He thought to himself "Good job Glass." He remembered that the police officer was talking on his radio, most likely calling for reinforcements. In a matter of minutes the area around the bank could be swarming with police officers trying to apprehend them and rescue the civilians. He thought to himself "I hope Fuse and Long Shot can hurry up because we can't stay here much longer."
Downstairs in the vault Short Fuse was beginning to place his explosive package on the hinges of the vault door while Long Shot went through the bodies of the guards, trying to salvage some ammo. Short Fuse was taking his time fiddling with wires and timers and the such, unaware of the situation upstairs that had just put the group on the police's radar. "So, how big is the blast going to be, are we going to have to go back upstairs or what?" Long shot asked.
"Based on the amount of explosive I'm using we'll have to go upstairs, that is if you feel like staying alive today," Fuse responded, laughing after he finished speaking. Long Shot just kind of rolled his eyes and went back to collecting ammo.
After about half a minute Fuse finished planting the explosives and said "Everything is in place, it's time to move back upstairs." Long Shot just silently got up and went to go back up the stairs, with Fuse following behind. As they went up Fuse armed his detonator and Long Shot reloaded his weapons.
When they got to the point where they came out of the stairwell Long Shot began to command the hostages, using a rather condescending voice "Ladies and Gentlecolts, we will be detonating explosives in the vault, do not be afraid you will not be h-." He stopped talking and stopped in his tracks when he saw Glass on the floor bleeding and the body of a dead police officer next to him.
Fuse tapped him on the shoulder and said "Hey boss, what's wrong". Long Shot didn't respond, he just stood there looking in utter shock at the scene before him. At this point he noticed that a significant number of the hostages were missing.
The next things to come out of Long Shot's mouth was "What the buck happened, why is there a dead cop, why is Glass shot, and why are a bunch of people missing!" At this point Fuse takes a peak at what's in front of Long Shot and sees the scene just as his boss described it.
"I don't know what happened, what I do know is that Glass is shot and the cops are coming," Rapid Fire replies in a worried voice. Long Shot's jaw drops, not because Glass is hurt, he could care less about him, but because he was incapacitated, and couldn't carry an money. They had pulled off all their past robberies without one of them getting injured, at least not this badly. This screwed up his plans, not only would Glass be unable to carry money but he would also require somepony else to carry him out, this would halve their haul.
"Shit, Fuse I don't give a buck, blow the vault open now," Long Shot commanded. In his mind he was rethinking his master plan of how to rob the bank, now having to account for a limited time span. After a few seconds there was a sound of a large boom, then smoke started to pour out of the stairwell. "Rapid Fire, you stay here, you'll have to carry Glass out when we leave. Fuse, you go down to the vault and fill two of the bags, I'll stay here.
Fuse turned around and ran into the vault as fast as he could, almost tripping on a few stairs on the way down. He galloped forwards to where the vault door was. He couldn't see anything through the smoke so he just kept running, hoping he wouldn't hit a wall. He ran face first into the vault door, the explosives had done nothing to dislodge it from its post. He then dropped to the floor, like a dead fly, knocked out by the force of running into a giant piece of steel.
Back above Rapid Fire kept his watch over the civilians while Long Shot waited nervously for Fuse to come back up with the money bags. After a few minutes he became worried and ran down the stairs, looking for Fuse and the sacks of money. With the smoke now clearing he was able to see Fuse's unconscious body when he got to the bottom of the stairs.
He looked around expecting that somehow one of the dead security guards had reanimated, to him it seemed the only explanation to why he was knocked out. Drawing his weapon he slowly moved down the hall, moving his weapon left and right , trying to find an enemy that didn't exist. He eventually reached Fuse's body and shook it a few times and yelled "Fuse, Fuse, Fuse! Wake up you lazy piece of shit!"
To Long Shot Fuse was disposable, so if he wasn't getting up he could just leave him here, though that would mean having to get someone to take his place. He looked up, as if to debate whether to take the money or Fuse by staring at the vault full of bits. His jaw dropped to the floor for the second time today, the vault door was still there and there would be no getting into the vault. Long Shot punched Fuse in the face and shouted "You incompetent piece of shit, why the buck did I ever trust you!"
"You know what you aren't even worth saving, you screwed this all up" Long Shot continued. His red eyes shrunk to the size of peas. It seemed that Fuse's failure had driven him insane, he was what you might call a perfectionist. He had to have everything just so, and having someone screw it up for him, as Fuse had done on multiple occasions, was something he couldn't tolerate. His red eyes were shrunken to the side of a peas.
Long Shot loaded a solid slug, and stood back. He raised his shotgun and aimed it at Fuse's head. "You're just a parasprite, so close your eyes and say good night" Long Shot said, then he pulled the trigger. Bang. A hole was formed in the side of Fuse's head.
Out of the hole came bits of brain and blood, with a few pieces of skull mixed in. Despite his distance away, Long Shot still got a healthy coating of blood. He then dropped his gun on the ground and sat there. Staring at the Fuse's dead body, and the blood pouring out of the wound, forming a nice red oil slick on the ground. He then let out a laugh that could only be described as psychotic.
At this moment Rapid Fire ran in from upstairs, he shouted to Long Shot "SWAT's upstairs, they got Glass! What the buck are we supposed to do!" in a worried tone. Rapid Fire gasped as he saw Long Shot turn around, not only did he see the the entire front of his body was covered in blood, but also the corpse of their former teammate.
Long Shot said, in a very screechy voice, "Everything is going to be alright! Because we can't die, you know why? Because we are too good to die," he turned back around, and resumed staring at the ground. At that moment a small object tumbled into the room, after a few seconds it started letting out blinding smoke.
Rapid Fire began to cough and before he knew it a few ponies in black body armor began rushing down the stairs, with the first one having a riot shield. They were shouting "Police! get on the ground!" Of course Rapid Fire didn't have much of a choice and he hit the deck and put his hooves behind his head. He was then dragged to the side by one of the officers and hoofcuffed.
Long Shot on the other hoof raised his shotgun and attempted to aim through the smoke at one of the SWAT officers. Of course he couldn't see them but fired anyway, the shot went wild and hit somewhere on the concrete ceiling. Then a group of four officers rushed forwards, hiding behind a riot shield, one of them hit him in the left leg with a shot and he collapsed to the ground, blood pouring from the wound like a faucet.
Then one of the officer kicked the gun out of Long Shot's reach and pushed him onto his back. With Long Shot trying to squirm and crawl away he was still able to get a pair of hoofcuffs onto him. Then the two of them were led from the building at put into the back of a SWAT truck. Glass had already been loaded into an ambulance headed for Canterlot General, and Fuse was loaded into the back of the medical examiner's van.
Short Fuse was buried in a nameless grave in Canterlot, as no one was came forward to identify him and claim the body. To this day no one knows where exactly his final resting place is.
Broken Glass survived his wounds and was eventually found guilty of Robbery with a deadly weapon and murder in the first degree, he is currently on death row in Canterlot's maximum security prison, Riverside Penitentiary. It is rumored that Celestia herself is going to witness the execution, along with the families of the deceased and those held hostage.
Rapid Fire cooperated with the police and eventually plead guilty to murder in the second degree, and in exchange for testimony against his co-conspirators, he was given a sentence of 40 years, he is eligible for parole in 2035. He will be 68 when he is released in 2052.
Long Shot also survived and was deemed mentally incompetent and never stood trial. He now spends his days in Canterlot's Hospital for the Mentally Deranged.
