//-------------------------------------------------------// The Encounter (A Harmony Quest backstory) -by Nathan Hon- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue: What really happened? //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue: What really happened? Now, the days seem to fly through fast. Weeks... Months... Years... But I remained the same. Beyond my wildest dreams, I could've never thought I would be here today, with the 'characters' I once loved so much. I always dreamt of having friends to keep me company. But it was never possible for me, until that day. I never even knew the pony world existed in the first place. It was an idea that was so far-fetched at the time. But now... it seems it's not the imaginated idea every kid once had, it was all real. The days I've been in the pony world, I never thought would happen in my life. Can you imagine, an ordinary person like me, getting to learn amazing magic by Starlight, or maybe fly around with mystical powers with Rainbow, or something else like that? It gave me so many other opportunities along the way. YouTube partners... My legendary friends... Everything I could've ever dreamt of. I was never happier. But, out of all... One pony was more special than the rest. Princess Twilight Sparkle, the princess of friendship, was somepony that, even before I met her, I would never have forgotten. She was like an angel to me. Not only was she always so entertaining, but it was when I met her, I found out just why I liked her character so much: She's a peace-making pony, just like me. The day we won that blasted war, I couldn't ask for anything better. I hated conflicts. I don't like that. I enjoy peace and harmony between the two races. It's just a ridiculous idea for us to be waging a war! Worst of all, that broke Twilight's friendship with her best friend. I was so outraged. It's a good thing they still made up. Who knows what would've happened? It felt like hell, being in the army. Glad that my new friend Frisk helped me train for the fights I am facing. But... That experience... Just made me realize how alone I was without my true friends by my side. I kept asking myself every night and day, 'Why did I accept his request to do this?' I never wanted to start this war, but if I didn't, I'll be dead in a world where no one remembers me. The worst part? I'm forever kept away from my savior. I'm just so glad we all got back together and won for the pony race. Well, the war wasn't completely bad. At the time, I found some really good friends and they were all famous YouTubers getting forced into the war. We shared the same feeling about this huge battle. None of us wanted to harm our fellow neighbours of ours, but you can't say yes to death that easily, right? Of course not. In that war- Was a fight I'll never forget. I was once a powerless person, even though I have powers from video games for some reason. But Frisk and Twilight... They rekindled my passion for defending what's right. Okay, maybe just Frisk, but it was Twilight who reminded me the act of mercy. I still fondly remember that day, even though it has been a year since it happened, a battle where I successfully won over my demons. That battle... I wouldn't have won without them. They were more than just my friends. Okay, I get it, you guys get the picture. But... Like I said, I was never a powerful person in the past. In fact, I was always beaten down by superior ones. It was something I had to bear every day. I hated my life at the time. Looking back, that fueled me the rage for the battle of my life. I would've never have made it to this day... Without her. Without the kindest and most caring friend you can ask for. She changed my view of life like nopony else could. However... Before all of this happened, before everything... I was living on a treacherous path and a haunting nightmare, that only the war yielded it from being in my memory. //-------------------------------------------------------// A haunting past //-------------------------------------------------------// A haunting past I was once just an ordinary student, like everyone else. I am Chinese, but that doesn't really matter to the story, so let's just move on. Anyway, I have always been the same as everyone else and I experienced things everyone goes through. Except for one thing. At the age of 13, I woke up one day to find myself with very unnatural powers. I was shocked at the time and feared the mythical magic I had inside me. But, over time, I learned how to utilize these powers well. I found that these powers had came from the different video games that I have played over the years, such as Minecraft or Mario or Kirby and so on. And since I was literally the only human with these powers, for some reason that even I don't know, I had to learn to use them properly on my own. As I was still a student, people at my school feared that my divine power could bring huge consequences. Thus, I was not allowed to use them at school, with only some special cases being an exception. This paved the way for this entire story to take place. Being the responsible, self-disciplined and thoughtful person I am, I don't break rules easily. I care for those who needed help. I didn't know why exactly, but I know the heavens blessed me with these gaming powers for a reason. So, I use them for good- I never just keep it to myself. But with these personalities, I suffered a huge cost: Bullying. Since my personal rule was set up, I was once again defenseless to any situation that involved me getting humiliated or even attacked. Yet, it never stopped- It only got stronger. Ever since I entered 7th grade, where I moved to a new school (It's how school works here), I could say humiliation really controlled my thoughts. I've been through a lot- Teased, laughed at, having bad nicknames, getting my things stolen... You name it, I've experienced it. And at the time, I was a loner. Not only did I not have someone close to share my woes with, I was isolated in pretty much all the time except group projects. I tried everything to make it stop, but it never worked. One day, I got back to school. I'm usually the early bird, but today I was a bit late than usual. 'Oh boy, time for another day of getting harassed at by my stupid classmates again!' I moaned, slamming my face onto my desk. My classmate heard me moaning, and sit next to me. 'What's the matter, Nathan?' '(Sigh) Natalie, this isn't going well for me...' I sighed. 'Every day, I hear them say things I hate over and over again like a million times. It's not even funny anymore!' At the time- Natalie was the only classmate I could call as a friend. She's not always around, though, because she has other friends too and I don't fit in with them well. 'I'm sorry that you have to go through it,' She said. 'It's not your fault,' I replied. 'And this mess is not my doing either. I don't know why god just wants me to suffer.' She put her hand on my shoulder. 'Don't say that! Of course, you're not the only one that is suffering from bullying! I know it's hard, but I know that a miracle will happen to you someday. They will happen, no matter how unlucky you may be now, trust me, there will be a time where you'll shine.' I looked at her. I smiled. 'Besides... I hate him too. I know we sound like we get along but in my heart... When I see you getting harassed by him... (sigh) I just feel so bad for you and I feel so angry about what he's doing to you.' She continued. 'Thank you,' I said. 'I'm just glad you're such a supportive person, Natalie.' She chuckled. 'Hey, I'm certainly not the only one. Maybe... Maybe you'll meet someone else like me?' I thought for a bit- Is this world really that cruel? Is everyone really that mean and awful to me? I know my fate is not this treacherous path I am taking. A miracle is bound to happen soon, I just know it. And little did I know, it actually happened- But we'll get to it later. As I was thinking about it, they came- The group of boys who bullied me. And they were already laughing before they even came in. 'Oooooooh, they are SO in love,' Elliot laughed. His friend, Tommy, laughed along. 'I know right? They literally chat together all the time!' Another one of their mates, Jason, started rapidly taking photos with his phone of the two of us. 'Hey! Using mobile phones at school is against the rules!' I yelled. 'Ha, rules?' Oh boy, there's the leader, Winston. '(Girly voice) Oh, doing this this this at school is against the rules!' Everyone in the group started laughing as they walked to their seats. 'You're just a hilarious fool,' Winston laughed, pushing me back forcefully. 'You stay out of my way.' I wanted to use my powers so bad. I was already charging up the fire flower. 'Hey! That's your rule, you can't break it!' Ughhhhhh, he was mimicking again as he turned back. I just sighed as I looked at Natalie. She rolled her eyes, feeling annoyed. 'Just look at what just happened,' I sighed. She crossed her arms. 'I know! He's just... Ugh, I couldn't stand him one bit.' The main reason why they hate me is probably how I take things seriously. I will admit, I am not serious all the time! I am not serious, but not too lazy either. I don't like that attitude. Yet, this is the price I am paying for being such a good student. You wanna know what's so crazy about them? They don't care if they get punished at all! It's just insane! I mean, could you imagine someone getting a number of warnings and don't care about any of it at all? It's mortifying and a straight up absurd attitude! I stand for righteousness. I never do anything bad intentionally. But of course, there is always that ONE person who wants to make everything as imperfect as it can possibly be. Like this guy, I literally think his mind has serious problems! He even dares to talk back at teachers! What!? That happens so often, I can't even recall how many times that happened. This one time, we were in the middle of a lesson at school. Before I go on, let me give some prep: There's this teacher who teaches us who is kinda... Awkward. He pronounciates stuff wrongly time to time and he doesn't really do a good job at punishing students, but I was fine with it. So, what happened was that during the middle of his lesson, Winston and his friend Oscar (who sat a few desks behind me) are secretly playing with their phones. Yes, this is normal, I see it every day. I was busy still doing Math questions that the teacher gave, so I didn't pay attention to what's going on behind me for a minute. 'I can see that, Winston,' the teacher said, putting his glasses up. 'You better put that away before I give you another record.' The disobedient student just looked at him with an innocent face. 'What are you talking about?' He asked. 'I wasn't playing-' The teacher walked over. 'Yes you are, show me the phone this instant.' 'Does it look like we care if you punish us?' Oscar asked. 'Why do we have to listen? We can do anything we want if we like.' 'Boys, stop fooling around before I make you take the hard route here...' The teacher was ready to send them to the principal's office. The two still didn't stop, and then I realised what's going on. 'Oh, I'm so scared! Pfft, no, I don't care.' Winston was speaking in that freaking mimicking tone again. 'Why should I even give-' Before he could even say the word, I already stood up in anger, banging my hands on my desk. 'STOP IT!' I roared. As my voice boomed across the room, everyone went silent at looked at me. 'You do not have the right to talk back to teachers like that,' I warned. 'I've told them about this case once already. I will do it again if you don't stop.' The teacher certainly did not want to be a part of this, but was confused to my actions. He stepped back a bit as Winston wanted to fight back. 'Oh, haha, playing the role of the cop again, huh!?' He slapped me hard on the face. 'I told you to stay out of my way unless you want to have a bad time... And you didn't listen.' 'Why should I listen to you, punk!?' I yelled. Everyone gasped. Before I knew it, he pushed me hard and punched me straight to the floor. The other boys just started giggling at my failure. 'LOL, he won't try to fight back!' Jacky, another one of the gang, laughed. 'I know, right? Does he even have the guts to stand up to us?' Tommy couldn't stop the laughter. But the bully didn't stop there- He even grabbed me and slammed my head back onto my desk before laughing and walking back to his seat. 'That's it!' The teacher was mad now. 'You two come with me right now!' You see what I mean, fellow reader? They're just... ridiculous people. Seeing someone getting hurt right before their eyes, and still laughs like that didn't mean anything. It feels like I wasn't there. School was a horrible thing for me. Isolated, attacked, humilated, you name it. I was teased for practically everything- Academic results, mistakes, singing, all that. The words I have to listen to... I bear it all day, every day, yet it haunts me every time I close my eyes every night. I didn't have anyone to always be around to care for me when I needed them. I desperately wanted a friend; Someone who could share my feelings with. Every night, I would tell the stars, 'All I wish is just a friend... Is that too much to ask?' I always dreamed of being a happy teenager. I bet that my life would be so much more cheerful if someone was around for me, helping me, caring for me, like any good friend would. I watched a lot of My Little Pony. Like, a lot a lot. Yet, the lessons they teach don't help much, considering I don't have many friends. All I hoped for, was someone like Twilight- Someone who would always be there to cheer me up. Someone who I can relate to. Someone I could share my feelings to. Someone... With a pair of caring wings, to comfort me in their embrace. And little did I know, three years after I met those people, the heavens finally heard my call. //-------------------------------------------------------// A far-fetched call //-------------------------------------------------------// A far-fetched call When I was 15, technology was at it's best- I was playing around with a cool little feature on a texting app on my phone. This feature allows me to text with a random person for one day and allows me time to consider whether to add them to my contacts list to chat more. It was relatively new, so I've never used it before. So one day, I decided to try it out. I just got back from school on a Friday. I sighed as I put down my bag. '(sigh) I wish my school life could be so much better than this hell...' I moaned. After changing back to casual clothes, I grabbed my phone. 'I wonder... How does this new feature work?' I asked myself. I activated it, and I was faced with an unexpected face- Princess Twilight Sparkle. 'Whoa, hold up!' My expression immediately changed. 'Am I dreaming!? This must be a fake!' But she was no fake- She was the legit pony. '(chuckles) Hi! This is just my first time trying out this feature, my friend recommended it,' Twilight said. 'I'm Twilight Sparkle, nice to meet you!' I was speechless. I didn't know what to say. 'Are... Are you the real princess? The real Twilight?' I asked. 'Sorry, I just can't believe it!' She smiled. 'You're not dreaming at all, all of this is real.' I kinda squealed a bit and I nearly forgot to reply. It's just crazy! I mean, what kind of luck is this? Meeting your favorite cartoon character, on a texting app, on the first try? 'I'm Nathan Hon,' I said. 'It's such an honor that I met you! It's my first time trying out this too!' I ended up talking with her for like an hour or so- I didn't plan on doing anything else anyway that day, so it was fine by me. We had pretty interesting similarities and we got along very well. I realized- This could be the chance I have been waiting for! 'Hey... Twilight?' I asked. This is a sentence I'll say many times over in the unforeseeable future. 'What is it?' 'You know, I don't have many friends. 'I said. 'Maybe... This is a start?' I could imagine- Even though I couldn't see her, smiling as she saw that message. 'I'll have to ask my friend if she allows it...' Twilight replied. 'Wait a minute.' I didn't realise at the time, but 'her friend' would ultimately be the one guiding my revenge. I just sat there, patiently for my new friend to return for a bit. 'Okay, done! She helped me save you in my contacts, so now we can chat whenever we want to!' Twilight said. 'Thanks,' I said. 'So... Wanna be friends, Twilight?' She couldn't be any happier. 'Sure! I don't have many friends from the human world and I'll love to have someone to share things about planet Earth.' I chuckled as she accepted my invitation. 'The saying goes, "Life is a box of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get." Who knows? Maybe... This would be the start of a... Wonderful friendship.' '(Giggles) I would love that a lot, Nathan.' Twilight responded. 'Oh, I have to go now, my friend is finding me for something. I'll see you around soon?' 'Alright. I hope to hear from you again soon, see you!' I texted back. After we both went offline, I just sat there- Feeling completely numb. Did I just spend an hour, texting, with a pony princess? I was shell-shocked, to the point I almost dropped my phone. 'Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh did I seriously just met princess Twilight on social media!?' I gasped. 'Someone get me out of this freaking dream!!' I realised- It's not a dream. It was all real. I started running around the house, feeling crazy excited. I was over the moon! Not only did I finally have such a great friend, it's literally the princess of friendship! What more could I possibly ask for? Then I had an even crazier idea. 'Waaaaaaaaaaait...' I said dramatically. 'Does this mean Equestria exists too!?!?' At that moment, I literally could've passed out from how excited I was. Luckily, I didn't. But holy moly, it was not a joke! This was all real! My Little Pony, the magical show I know and love, was actually canon all along! And I didn't know at the time... But that encounter, was love at first sight. I never knew until I got older, that Twilight Sparkle would be the sweetheart I will love forever. Since that moment, my life has changed. Well, not drastically, but definitely a change for the better. Now I have a friend who was always there to accompany me when I needed her. Usually when I'm resting before I go to bed, I would play video games for like an hour or so. But now, I would totally rather text with Twilight. It's now pretty much a daily basis, every night we could talk about something for a long time. She was curious about me, considering I knew her before we met. So, I explained that I watched the show. I told her the wonders of our planet Earth and she knew so much about us humans. I loved chatting with her. She talked about her own land, Equestria. Twilight was a princess, but she can still find the quality time she needed to have fun with me. I feel so lucky to know that. Once, there was a school field trip, and while everyone was just chilling, I had other plans. I took out my phone (It's allowed) and wanted to talk with my friend. 'Hey, Twilly. How are you doing?' I asked. 'What's on your mind?' She smiled as she saw I'm on. 'I thought you're on a field trip today?' 'Shhhhh,' I said. 'Don't make me get noticed. Anyway, just want to have a random chat with you, if you have time, of course. '(Chuckles) I'm always up for a friendly chat,' Twilight replied. We were chatting about something related to nature, considering my current situation. It was actually quite interesting, their land sounds so much better than my world. Suddenly, while I was not noticing, Natalie and her friend came over. 'Hey Nathan, you seem to be rather alone, what you're doing?' Natalie asked. I wanted to hide my phone so she doesn't see who I was talking with. But her friend already snatched the phone. Well, no choice but to tell the truth now. 'So uh... You girls know the show I always watch?' Her friend nodded. 'Yeah, what about it?' 'Well...' I whispered to them the rest. 'Oh, really now?' Natalie smiled. 'You must be over the moon right now! I know you love that show!' I nodded, smiling. 'I still can't believe it, even though it's been a month or two.' And then those people came in. Uh oh, I'm gonna be in big trouble for sure, I don't even need the truth to be spoiled. '(Groan) Come on girls, let's go away for a sec,' I said. But those boys just chased me, beat me up, and stole my phone. As soon they saw it, they laughed their literal butts off. '(Laughing) Oh my god, that is the most hilarious thing I've seen in my life!' Oscar was down on the ground laughing. 'This actually happened!? To this idiot!?' Elliot asked, grinning. I was so furious. I knew Twilight was so much more than a friend to me. Yet, they see it as a joke? Really? '(Hysterical laugh) Is this even real!?' Winston laughed the hardest. 'Oooooh, Nathan and Twilight, sitting on a tree-' I punched him in the face before he could even finish it. I even kicked him in the groin hard. Resisting mercy, I grabbed his hair and threw him down and stomped on his body. 'Shut... Your stupid... Awful mouth!' I yelled. I looked at the others, still laughing. I took back my phone from the bully's hand and walked away. 'You still there? What happened?' Twilight asked, worried. I didn't even have the mood to talk with her. 'Sorry, I don't feel like talking now, Twi.' 'What? Wait! Don't leave yet!' She begged. I turned my phone off already. I turned- But the laughter was still there. Those menacing... Cruel... Hurtful sounds... It never stopped, it only got worse... People say that good and bad exist at the same time. Things never exceptionally favor one or the other. Although getting to talk with the pony I know and love was a brilliant thing, this only made those people more aggressive than ever. Before this happened, I was always getting teased for my obsession of watching the show, and now not only that, I am getting shipped with Twilight! I don't think they understand who she exactly is, and they don't even know if she exists. In this situation, it seems completely illogical to bully me for something you don't even know is real. Of course, that doesn't matter because their action against me is already a bad thing in the first place. You know why I ended up here, sitting down and writing all of this in Equestria, the land where I belong? This is why. Sometimes humans don't see how terrible they are. All they care about is themselves. Hatred, cruelty, genocide, selfishness, and not to mention, they're soulless. These people who make fun of me... Do they really think they're right? Do they think I can't feel anything? Do they even have a tiny bit of thoughtfulness in their heart? Ponyland is so much more different. Everyone here gets along. I see it every day now. It used to be my little getaway paradise and it gradually turned into my wonderful home. I was always a merciful person. I want to live with those who are similar to me. I love their harmonious society. Friendship, trust and of course love. I wish humans can learn from our secret neighboring tribe. But for now, they wouldn't change. I was getting harmed more than ever before. The grasp of cruelty continued to grow on me. It's always repeating the words into my mind: 'You're worthless'... 'You're a pathetic loser'... 'Go back to your dreamland'... Ugh! I hate this! And without even thinking, I wanted to do something that I never thought I had to do... To end my suffering... One day, when no one was at home, I locked myself in my room. I took a deep breath and exhaled. 'So, they REALLY want me gone from their sight? Alright, fine!' I yelled. With my powers, I spawned in a mystical food item. It had the power to poison anyone who consumes it, and I knew I had to do it. 'You made me do this, you cruel humans...' I was crying. But I saw no other way out. I was so close to 'pressing the suicide button', I got a call. I put away the suicide item. 'What now?' I moaned. I picked up the call- It was Twilight. This was the first time she actually called me on my phone. '(Sigh) Hey, Twilight...' I said. Yet, before she knew my story, she was beaming with joy for our chat. '(Chuckles) Hey, Nathan! I decided to give you a call and see if we get along better!' She said. 'But... Why do you sound so... depressed?' I went silent. 'Did you... Did you get bullied? Again?' She asked. I still said nothing. Twilight was getting confused. 'Nathan... You don't have to hide your feelings from me,' She encouraged. 'I'm your best friend, remember?' I sighed. 'Yes... I did...' I said sadly. Seeing how I said it, she knew it was really bad. 'Who would make you feel so bad?' Twilight asked. 'You are one of the kindest humans I have ever met. Why would anyone do this to you? You are really sweet and caring, and yet people would bully you? You've told me how bad they were before... Why the hostility? I've never seen a friend feeling this bad about it...' I wanted to cry. 'Oh, Nate... I could tell your heart is collapsing under their words... I wish I can just come and comfort you,' Twilight said. 'They think you're stupid, pathetic, weak... But what I see, and what I think of you, is that you are friendly, merciful and filled with kindness and love. You're a strong one, you just haven't seen in what way yet. Do you know why I'm doing this? It's because I care about you. You are such a good friend of mine. I'll be so, so sad if this continues any further... I know you would never take it by force. And I certainly agree to that. Don't be gloomy now, okay?' I was shocked- Those words... Were enough to melt my heart. Considering what I just did... What was I thinking? My tears just flowed out like rivers and I started crying. '(Crying) I'm sorry... I'm so, so sorry, Twilight...' I cried. 'What for?' I told her what I was going to do. She was shocked to the bone. 'What!? Are you crazy, Nathan!?' Twilight shouted into the phone. '(cries) I know... I'm such a brainless person...' I said. 'No! Don't say that!' She replied. 'You're not an idiot! I know you, Nathan. I know they harmed your thoughts. But don't cling to it for your whole life! No one is ever perfect. You're not either. But there's no reason for them to make fun of you about the same thing, right?' I wiped my tears. 'That's right. I don't get why they're doing it anyway,' I sighed. 'And you want to know what's the biggest thing they tease me about?' Twilight thought for a bit and sighed too. 'Is it... Me?' 'Correct,' I answered. 'I'm sorry to tell you that. I don't want you to be depressed, that's why I never told you.' 'It's okay, buddy. Once this thing goes viral across your world, they will eventually believe it.' Twilight said. 'Plus... You don't have to hold such a grudge about it. We're just really good friends, aren't we?' 'This is human nature, unfortunately,' I told her. Then, Twilight had an idea. 'You know... I wish we could meet someday, Nate. I know both of us really want to see each other and we really love our best friend. And I want to introduce you to my other friends as well.' I thought so too. Then, I thought, maybe that could work! 'Actually... Maybe I could,' I responded. 'Oh?' 'You remember that I told you I have magical powers, right? Maybe I could use them to get to Britannica from where I live, and I could come to Equestria!' I explained happily. Twilight gasped. 'Really? Hold on, just let me ask my friend first...' After a few minutes, she came back. 'She said it's fine. Oh, I can't wait to see you, Nathan!' Twilight exclaimed, jumping around. '(Laughing) I know you're excited. So am I,' I said. 'But seriously, Twi...' 'What is it?' I sighed. 'Sorry about everything I said. I was so... Angry and emotional. They literally harmed every bit of my heart. But since I started to talk with you, things have definitely changed. You have given me so much support in the midst of those bullies humiliating me and I'm so thankful for it.' 'It's my pleasure,' She said kindly. 'Why would I let anything bad happen to my best friend?' 'I know you wouldn't.' I said, starting to blush. 'Honestly... You were on my mind pretty much all the time. And yes, I did doze off thinking about you during class. (Laughing) I know, I know, I shouldn't. Every time I think about you and your friends, I wished with all my heart I could see you all. You all are my favorite little ponies. And you, Spark, are the most special.' She started blushing too. '(Laughing) Awww... That's so sweet of you!' Twilight squeaked. 'I love that nickname!' I wished it can go longer- But I needed to go do something else. 'Oh, I need to run.' I said. 'I've spent enough time planning my suicide... And talking to my best friend, of course!' Both of us laughed. 'Hey, how about the next time we chat on the phone, we have to show ourselves on the camera?' She asked. 'Just for me to see what you look like. I never knew and I'm curious.' 'Sure!' I replied. 'Alright, I have to go. As always, lots of love to you, Twilight. See you soon!' 'You too, Nate. Bye!' She said. I couldn't wait any longer to see my best friend after that. Only a few months later, during the summer, I had a plan... Author's Note Before I go any further, I want to make it clear this is not a rewrite to my original story, the reason being that this is not a rewrite to technology is magic (The story this is referring to, at least half of the story), and the future chapters that will be posted soon are not rewrites to Rise of Equestria. The story is comepltely done, this was the last chapter I wrote. I can confirm that the majority of this story's content was not included in the original episodes, meaning they are not rewritten. //-------------------------------------------------------// The Encounter //-------------------------------------------------------// The Encounter During the summer holiday, I had the idea of going to the pony world and meeting my new pony friend. I asked Twilight to ask Frisk for permission for me to come to Equestria, and she said it was okay after Twilight talked to her more about me. So, after traveling for a while (There's no portal to Equestria from my country yet) to Britannica, I went for a bit of sightseeing around the city for a while, until I got a call from Frisk. 'Hello? Oh, it's you, Frisk, what is it?' I asked. Before I came over, I already got to know Frisk for a bit, even though she was always super busy. 'You're here in Britannica, correct? Good, meet me at the front of the palace in the morning tomorrow. The guards will guide you over, I told them the plan.' She explained. 'Thank you, I appreciate your hospitality,' I replied. The next day, the plan went exactly like Frisk wanted. I was taken to the throne room, and I was really excited. 'I can't believe I am in the palace of Britannica! It's an absolute honor to be here, they're gonna be so jelly when I tell them about this,' I thought. The doors to the throne room were open, and Frisk was waiting patiently on her throne, with Asriel by her side. 'Your Highness,' I said, bowing. 'It's my absolute honor to be meeting you today.' Frisk smiled. 'Just call me Frisk. We're friends, aren't we?' She signaled everyone else to leave the room. 'Alright, then. And you are?' I asked, pointing to Asriel. 'Asriel Dreemur, Frisk's brother.' He shook my hand. I looked around. Fancy and glamourous decor everywhere I saw. It's a dream to be here every day, that's what I thought. 'So, Nathan,' Frisk began. 'Yes? I know why I'm here, by the way, no need to ask.' I answered. She nodded. 'Yes, but before that... I got a question.' 'Ask away.' She tilted her head. 'Is it true you have magical powers? I heard about you and I'm honestly interested. would you mind showing me what exactly you can do?' 'Don't say I didn't warn you,' I laughed. I spawned in what's like an ice flower and sucked up its energy. A second later I threw an ice ball, freezing Frisk's blades at an instant. Later I reversed that with a fireball. 'Interesting,' Frisk clapped her hands. 'You want a fight?' 'Oh, it's my pleasure,' I said. With a stamp on the ground, it looks like a huge borderless dimension was spawning in front of our eyes. 'Just wanted to make sure you don't harm anything in the process.' She was amazed. 'Ha, now that's what I'm talking about!' She took out her swords. Frisk tried to dash over to get the first strike, but in a second, I disappeared without a trance. She turned around, only to see me 'Falcon punching' her in the face. She stopped for a second to get her thoughts straight. 'Dang, he's crazy!' She thought. As I started to feel cocky, I was turning my head when a sword blade was inches close from my neck. 'Heh, you can't have fun without your little bro, sis!' Asriel teased. 'I don't mind,' Frisk replied, smiling. There were ups and downs on both sides for this little duel- Both sides were strong in their own ways, but I was a bit more powerful since the two had to deal with my special powers. Yet, it wasn't that big of a challenge. They pushed me into a position I couldn't escape- I was trapped in between. 'We've got you now!' Frisk winked. Defending with my double shields, I immediately pushed away them both with magic force, and jumped high, stabbed my magic sword onto the ground, creating a shockwave that made both of them speechless. The surroundings were back to normal again. 'Yo, that was insane!' Asriel commented, smiling. I was a bit shy. 'Ha, really? I'm not that powerful, to be honest... I was holding back a little.' Frisk got up, thinking about something. 'He has great potential... It'll be great if he joins us.' She walked over to me, shaking my hand. 'You have a great future coming, young one,' Frisk said. 'You want to join us and our friends?' I was surprised, and my eyes were sparkling. 'Really!? Can I?' Frisk nodded, chuckling. 'So, you ready to meet her?' She said, opening the portal to Equestria. I was fascinated by the portal- I knew once I step in, I'll be writing a new page of my life. A journey that I'll never forget. Best of all, a whole new life entirely. 'Do I just go in the portal?' I asked, putting my hand through it. Asriel winked. 'After you, our new recruit.' I walked into the portal and came face-to-face with the land I had once dreamt of: Equestria. '(gasp) No way! Guys, am I seriously...' I was too shocked to say anything. Frisk nodded. 'It's all real,' she said. I looked around. There were ponies everywhere I saw. I assumed I was in Canterlot, considering I saw the giant castle in the background. 'So, Canterlot, correct?' I asked. 'We came here specifically for a reason,' Asriel explained. 'Twilight is with the princesses at the moment. She's probably leaving soon from their meeting.' 'Interesting...' I folded my arms and blushed. Frisk was walking away to the palace. 'Hey! You guys coming? You won't say no to seeing your best friend, would you?' Asriel shrugged. 'Come on, Nathan. Let's go.' Frisk gave Celestia a call beforehand, so she won't be surprised that another human other than Frisk and Asriel showing up before her. 'Your Highness,' Frisk bowed before the princess of the sun. 'Thank you, Frisk,' She replied. 'Now, about this new human, you talked to me about... Is that him over there?' I came over and took a bow- A long one. I cleared my throat. 'Ah, your Highness. How shall I express how delighted I am to be meeting you today as an ambassador for the humans to the ponies?' I said, formally. Celestia giggled a bit. 'It's alright, no need to be so formal. Your name is?' 'It's Nathan, pleased to meet you, Princess Celestia,' I insisted on shaking her hoof. As I went back down the steps, Luna and Twilight were coming from the hallway near the entrance we're at. 'Sorry to cut the meeting short, Luna. I have something else to do with-' She saw me and gasped. I turned to see her, looking at me with big, round eyes. The two of us starred at each other for what seemed like forever- And I gasped when I saw my dear friend. Twilight Sparkle, the princess of friendship. I could’ve never imagined beyond my wildest dreams, I would meet her- My favorite character ever. Of course, I recognized her at first sight- The pretty mane, the gorgeous lavender fur of hers, and that beautiful cutie mark- A six-pointed star. “Twilight?” I asked, in shock and walking to her. She smiled. “Are you...” I chuckled. “Yes. I’m Nathan. Come on, you know me, Twi!” Twilight giggled and threw her hooves around me in a hug. I spun her around, and held her tight. I was so glad to see her. “I didn’t expect to see you today!” Twilight said, smiling. “How’ve you been?” I blushed- This is the first time we have ever met each other. Now that she’s not just a character that I loved, but also a friend, it made me very nerous to get so close with her this quickly. I felt chills running up my spine as her grin grew wider, that charming face in front of mine. “When I’m with my friend, I’m always feeling great,” I told her, making her laugh. “I came to see you, Twi. I’m so glad to meet you for once!” “Me too!” The Dreemur siblings are just shrugging from behind and flirting a bit. 'You two know each other?' Celestia asked. I let go. 'Of course we do! I've been her friend for quite a while.' Luna was confused since she had no idea this was happening. Still, she tried to keep a calm face while something like this is going on. 'What in the name of Equestria is going on!?' She asked with curiosity. 'Is this another human I see?' Her sister just laughed. 'This is Nathan, Twilight's new friend. As far as I know, he's not coming to do anything harmful to our subjects. Relax, Luna.' I bowed before the Lunar princess. 'So, Princess Luna, correct? It's great to meet you.' She nodded. Then she turned to Celestia and started to whisper. 'Are you sure he's not going to do anything bad, Tia?' Luna asked, doubting. 'He's friends with Twilight and Frisk. Surely he's a good person.' I walked over since Luna was doubting about my reason for coming here. 'Don't worry, I am not here to make war with you all. I just wish to see my friends and maybe explore the place. I am not a spy or something like that for the humans.' I explained. After thinking for a bit, Luna smiled. 'Seems fine to me... Alright, you can stay with your friends.' Twilight immediately beamed and squealed a bit before cuddling me by surprise. '(Laughing) Aw, Twilight. We just met!' I laughed. Everypony else was laughing a bit too. We were going back to Ponyville after that, and we were all chatting along the way to the train station. 'So let me get this straight,' Asriel said. 'You both have been friends for the past few months!?' I nodded. 'Yeah, we crossed paths by chance and... Well, now we're really good friends.' Twilight laughed and nudged me with her wing. 'Aw, you're so sweet. We're not that close, are we? I'm closer with Frisk. '(Laughs) Oh, come on, Twilly. You know you love me, don't you?' Frisk joked around. I was a bit surprised and grinned coldly. 'I ship you two so bad now...' I whispered to Twilight. 'What have you gotten yourselves into...' 'I heard that!' Asriel yelled. Everyone started laughing. We got on the train and sat down to talk. 'I'm curious... How did you both become so close?' Frisk questioned. I sighed. 'It's a long story. To make it short, we've been texting a lot throughout the past few months. I taught her many things about our beautiful planet. And, she was really nice to me as well; I was really lonely at school. I didn't have any friends. Twilight was the first to really be there for me when I needed someone- I mean somepony. It's nice to have a friend like her.' Asriel noticed that I’m a bit hurt. 'You seem to have quite some bruises on your arm and face... Why so?' He asked. 'It was there before we had that little duel.' I sighed again and looked out of the window. 'What's wrong?' Frisk was puzzled. '(Sigh) You all have suffered bullying, have you not?' I asked. They all nodded. 'My case is... Really bad. It's so bad, it harmed my thoughts and it hurt my feelings. I wanted to confess to others, but you know what will happen. Thankfully Twilight was always caring for me and showing me I'm not alone.' I explained, pulling my friend close. 'Thank you so much, Twi. I really mean it.' She smiled. '(Chuckles) Aw, shucks. I've always been a friendly pony and I really hope my friends are all happy. That includes you.' Hearing that made me blush. The Dreemurs smiled too. 'I'm sorry to know about that,' Frisk said. 'Don't worry, we'll help you through it!' 'Yeah! My sister is amazing at fighting. She can probably help you take them down one day,' Asriel added. 'Thanks, guys. I'm glad I met such great friends.' I finally smiled. 'Maybe... Maybe one day we can team up together?' 'Maybe it'll happen,' Frisk replied. 'I'm confident in you.' Twilight just realized something. 'By the way, Nathan... Thanks for always believing in and trusting me. You're a wonderful friend, I kinda don't understand why you're so lonely.' I just chuckled. 'That's what friends do, isn't it?' 'Yeah, I know that,' She said. 'You know, we-' As she turned, I turned as well and we accidentally kissed just a little bit. '(Gasp) Aww!!! That's so cute!' Frisk squeaked, laughing. The two of us were silent. Both of us didn't know what to say. 'Ohmygosh, I am so sorry!' I covered my face and turned away. 'I didn't mean to-' But the princess just took me under her wing. '(Laughing) That was... That was a little awkward, wasn't it?' She stuttered. 'Still, that was funny, I'll admit.' They looked at the Dreemurs, who were laughing their heads off. Since that day, my life has only changed forever. I have been watching My Little Pony for a long, long time. But seeing the ponies I love has always been the most far-fetched wish of my life, especially Twilight since we have been friends for a long time. Not to mention, I also met Frisk and Asriel, which are two of the most important people in... Pretty much history. At least in their country. And I never knew this, but they would become two of the most inspirational people in my life. Okay, not the most, cause Twilight is so much better! I got to know so much about the pony world, something that I once only dreamed of. Surprisingly, I found out that their world had a lot of similarities with planet Earth! But the major difference is that Equestria is a wonderful nature paradise, compared with us. I started to work a bit for the ponies as a researcher. I told them more and more about us humans and what makes us special. At the same time, I kinda feel like a teacher at the same time. I taught ponies things about us humans and they taught me things about their world too. Of course, other than that, I have been learning other stuff too! Twilight, Starlight and I shared a pretty common bond. They taught me interesting skills in magic manipulation and more advanced spells, which were abilities that I have never come close to mastering. Magic was one aspect of my powers that I wasn't able to get used to in the past. To make it short: Visiting ponydom allowed me to learn so much more than anyone else could every day. But the most beneficial part, which was not just for me, but for the sake of the whole world, actually started from here: The collaboration of the human race and ponykind. Since my visit, news flooded into the human world. In one way, I'm worried about Equestria's safety, but in another way, this is a great opportunity for us to build trust and new friendships. I saw this chance for the two races as a historical change. And after talking to Frisk about it, she was interested in this idea, and since she was still the ruler of Britannica at the time, she talked to other leaders. They welcomed the ponies to their world gladly. So basically, I'm now famous apparently, because I contributed to this historical event! Twilight and I were drawn much closer after we met in person. I had fun chatting with her during my free time. She had a lot of fun too. Both of us liked having each other and we really cherish the moments we spend with our best friend. After meeting for the first time, I wanted to spend more time with my new friends, no matter pony friends or human friends. I would record videos whenever I had free time- And my friends really enjoy playing with me. Whenever I feel down, I knew they will always be around to care for me. I felt glad to know such caring friends. And yes, there have been a few awkward or funny moments between me and Twilight particularly. There was this one time, I was recording truth or dare with Asriel and Twilight and some other friends. 'So Nathan, truth or dare?' Asriel asked. 'I'll go dare,' I responded. 'I never really do that often.' He smiled coldly. 'I dare you to kiss Twilight.' As soon as the two of us heard what he said, we started blushing and looked away from each other. Everypony started laughing. Welp, I'm editing that off the video for sure! '(Laughing) Come on, Twilight!' Pinkie giggled. 'It's just once!' The princess started laughing. 'I guess I'm fine... But Nathan, well...' Oh come on, really, Asriel? I have to kiss my best friend, and I have to do it on camera? I'll pick doing anything over that any day! 'Come on, can I do something else?' I begged. Dash was laughing hysterically. 'Of course not! Come on, just do it!' I looked at Twilight, and she looked at me. 'I'm sorry, Twi...' I went for it and kissed her on the forehead. She smiled. 'Aww, that's adorable! Hey, don't be embarrassed, it was cute!' We all started laughing. Sometimes, I would have little hangouts with her when I feel like it. No, not dating, just hanging out with normal friends. Besides, I'm too young to be in a relationship! This one time, we were just having some quality time together while we weren't doing anything. We were getting busier, so it was hard to find free time to spend. 'Isn't the view just beautiful?' Twilight asked me, looking at the sunset over the hills. I nodded. 'Hey look, that's pretty good timing.' I said, pointing at the purple sky. 'There's a small time period between sunset at nighttime where this happens. It's twilight time.' She giggled. 'Hey, that's me!' I smiled as I looked at her. She was just as beautiful as the real thing. 'Actually...' I said, spawning a guitar in with magic. 'Have I told you I can play a tune or two?' 'I don't think so,' She said. 'Something relaxing, maybe?' 'Okay. Perhaps you've heard of this song before...' I replied, starting to strum the strings. 'Somepony special wrote it.' As I played the soothing and romantic song, Twilight just leaned on me. By the time the song finished, she was already sleeping on my legs. She's just cute, isn't she? Little did I know, even the magic of friendship could only take me so far to achieving my goal. I was satisfied and things were great, but I knew it is only a part of my revenge. I cannot be too merciful forever. Author's Note AHHHHH THE CRINGE:rainbowlaugh: https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/rainbowlaugh.png Lolololololololol Oh, and the song was 'You're in my head like a catchy song' from season 7, I didn't want to put it in because it's kinda a love song, but we're not lovebirds yet XD //-------------------------------------------------------// Rekindling the flame //-------------------------------------------------------// Rekindling the flame I moved up to high school a while after my visit. And yes, I still have the same classmates, unfortunately. But that's how the system goes, so I'll just roll with it. Most of them would just stare at me as I walked along. Dang, I gained a reputation for myself, not to brag. But, even so, I still think that something doesn't seem right. And it was revealed one day. One afternoon, I was walking along the streets as I was walking back home from school. For some reason, I keep having to take detours since the roads are for whatever reason blocked. I didn't want to, but I had to turn into the narrow and more secret passageways among the area. I've always heard these places are the most dangerous. '(Sigh) I don't feel good about this...' I said to myself, sighing. All of a sudden, he appeared. Oh boy, there's that intimidating voice again! 'Going somewhere?' Winston asked, grinning coldly. I groaned in frustration. 'What do you want from me this time?' He had a sinister laugh. Forcefully, he punched me in the face and pushed me to a wall. 'I don't think you understand...' He said. Continuing to smile coldly, he whispered, 'Why do you think, anyone in this world actually thinks you're cool?' With magic, I pushed back. 'You just think so because you're jealous,' I shouted back. 'But I'm not seeing all of this as a gift naturally. And if you did it, you would be just as successful anyway.' He started repeating my words in that 'falsetto' voice again. Ughhhh, that irritating voice... I furiously slapped him in the face and tried to run away. 'You're not going anywhere,' The bully laughed. He had a hook in his bag, and pulled me back, and punched me in the floor. I wanted to use magic to fight back, but his friends just came over. 'Oh, aren't you a self-disciplined student?' Elliot teased. 'Not only will you break your personal rule... You're be scolded for violence, too...' Winston stomped on my back. Ouch! 'Come on, fight back!' Tommy said. 'Hah, coward!' I was so in rage, but I couldn't do anything. I don't want to hurt anyone intentionally, even in this situation. I just let both Winston and Jason pick me up and threw me into a wall. 'Argh, *censored* me!' I yelled, my head starting to feel dizzy. (Sorry for my language...) Oscar was laughing hysterically. 'Why is he not fighting back? Oh, because he's stupid!' As they all started laughing, I wanted to get up, but I felt a shot of pain in my legs. I crawled, but Jacky kicked back to where I was. Winston cracked his knuckles. 'This is for making us jealous and taking away our spotlight in the class.' He warned. 'Come on, boys...' As they got closer, I wanted to back away, and I was stuck to the wall. I was so afraid, frightened and horrified. I closed my eyes, buried my face in my hands... I secretly dialed my best friend, and the second they started to attack me, I screamed into the phone: 'Twilight! Help me!!' They started to stomp me, kick me, punch me in the face, and even wanted to stab me with their stationery! Oh my gosh they were cruel! I could bearly see anything, my glasses were thrown and broken, and the last thing I recall was them throwing me into a corner, and seeing the leader ram my face into it, causing me to pass out. I was down on the ground, motionless, bruises all over my body... When Twilight came, it was too late. I was already down. “Nathan? Nathan!? Where are you!?” She yelled mid-air, worried. She was flying around the area I was in, and it wasn't till she started to fly above the narrow ways of the town, she saw what happened. '(Gasp) Oh no...' She flew beside me, nudged me, but nothing happened. '(Cries) Nathan... Tell me, what did they do to you...?' I was silent, of course- I fell into a coma before she came. She called Frisk on her phone, telling her to call for help. The princess just levitated me and held me in her wings and started crying. 'Oh, Nate... You're going to be okay... They're coming, hang on a little bit longer!' She cried. It wasn't until a few days later that I would be awake again. I was rushed to hospital because of their brutal treatment, but thankfully I just passed out from the fight. I wasn't fully awake yet, but I could already merely hear people around me speaking. 'How's the situation now?' My father asked, worried. 'I'm afraid he's still very hurt... It was lucky that he didn't break any bones either,' The doctor explained. 'Good heavens, the people who hurt him must have been really bad.' My mother wanted to cry. Who did this to my son!?' She cried. 'They shall be punished!!' My father agreed. 'They have committed a terrible crime. Brutally beating up a person so important to ponykind... Who would do that?' All of a sudden, I woke up. 'It's them,' I began. My parents were shocked as I regained consciousness. 'It's those bullies, they did this to me.' I said, furious. They understood what I was talking about the moment I said that. They knew those people. I talked about them. 'So, Nathan,' the doctor said. 'It's great to see that you're at least awake. Problem is, you're still incredibly hurt from that fight. So it's best if you stay until we make sure nothing serious affected you and until you're fully recovered.' I looked at myself. There were cuts and bruises everywhere. Not to mention, a very deep cut on my left arm. 'What about my powers?' I asked. 'Ah, right. I see that your brain is not severely damaged, so I think it should be okay.' He answered. I tested it out by doing a bit of magic. It worked, and I sighed in relief. 'You don't know how happy it makes us see you're alive,' My father said, smiling. I chuckled. 'Thanks. And... Tell someone about this. They must get the punishment they deserve.' 'Oh, we will,' My mother responded. “They will not get away with this without a penalty.” Another few days later, someone else wanted to visit me. I had a charming smile as the three entered. 'Aww, guys...' I said, blushing. Twilight started laughing. 'Feeling any better now, Nate?' I nodded. 'It's getting better. Not to mention, just seeing you makes me smile, Spark.' I rubbed her head a bit. '(Chuckles) That's so cute!' Asriel squeaked. 'But seriously... Who did this to you?' I sighed. 'Well, who else can it be? Of course, it's those freaking boys at my school! Who else would do that?' Frisk moaned. 'I know how it feels to be beaten down by others, Nathan. But you gotta stand up for yourself! I know, I know, you're a pacifist. But, although that's a good thing, you're not gonna be able to continue for long if you stay weak like this.' I thought for a bit. She is technically right, to be honest. 'If you're willing to learn, I'm willing to teach you the ways of combat. And with your powers... You have endless potential. You'll be able to defend yourself in any situation any day.' Frisk offered. 'After you recover, of course.' Now that's a great idea! 'Yeah! You can join our little team,' Asriel added. 'And if you have any trouble, we'll be by your side to help you,' Twilight followed. So I nodded. My next chapter will finally be freed from fate's hands. Since then, I've been trained by Frisk. It had a pretty rocky start, to be honest. I was getting told I wasn't giving my all. I had to forget about being too merciful. I didn't like that, but the feel of defeating someone is oddly satisfying. Not that it's always a good thing, but still. I may be keen on the magic aspect of fighting, I'm not good with other types, such as bare-handed and traditional weapons. I am actually pretty good at defense, though. My speed can dodge ammunition with ease. It was my powers that can give me the upper hand. But as the spread of obtaining these powers became more popular over time, I knew that if I wanted to beat them, I had to be all-rounded. One motto I stuck to through all of this, was to not give up. My determination for success will pay off sometime in the future. I just know it. It was only a year later, and I'm already crazy strong. The combination of using both physical and mystical powers actually work together very well, no matter defensive or offensive. I managed to take down Frisk a few times! But of course, I know she's not giving 100% of her ability. If she did, how would I possibly beat her? Don't worry, she still tries hard. Once, we were training, and with the power of technology, Frisk spawned in someone just a bit lower than my level for me to fight with. I was getting more powerful every day. 'Don't hold back! No one that's powerful would hold back, now will they?' Frisk encouraged. I somehow knocked him down, with extreme accuracy on my assault rifle, and I grabbed his leg and threw him into the wall. That's good enough, and as he charged, I did a crazy backflip and fired right towards his head! 'MLG indeed,' I boasted. (Just roll with it, don't question my wording) Frisk clapped hands as she started to laugh in excitement. 'Well done! This guy is not easy to fight, to be honest. After this bad boy came out it took me a few tries to take him down! It came down to the method, probably.' 'That's what you taught me,' I responded. 'Find your opponent's weakness, and use it against them.' A while later, I was walking along the streets of ponyville with Twilight, as I needed something restful to do. 'So, how's training today?' Twilight asked. 'Oh, it was awesome! I am getting more powerful day by day,' I said proudly. 'That's good to know,' She said. 'Just don't use it against us, though!' We both laughed. But then, I heard something- Something that sounded like fillies screaming in horror. 'Uh oh,' I said. 'We better check that out.' It was coming from near the school that the Crusaders go to, not that it's a big surprise. But what made me shocked was who made them scream. 'Tell me, where is that brat!?' Winston yelled at Apple Bloom. She was terrified. 'He told me about you once, you're a horrible person! I will never tell you that!' She yelled back. The teen was about to smash her when Sweetie Belle distracted him. The other students just looked at the Crusaders in fear, even Diamond Tiara! 'Oh... I don't like this...' She cried. A minute later, Scootaloo was also involved in the mix. The three backed away as the bully got close. I was watching with Twilight behind the trees, watching. I knew I had to do something. 'Hey, do you trust me?' I asked, nudging her. She had to think fast. 'I guess...? But- Wait!' I didn't even listen to her explanation and I already ran out there. 'Hey! Leave my little friends alone!' I warned. Winston turned and saw me. His became furious. '(Screaming) That little brat!!' He wanted to charge at me, but I narrowly escaped with a roll. The others all gasped. A fight was about to break out. 'You... You did this to me...' He grunted. 'You stole the spotlight... You made me get kicked out of your school... You made me an infamous student... And yet it's still not enough, you want to take away my freedom!?' I took out my sword, and I glanced at Twilight, then looked back. 'It's not my fault,' I explained, shrugging. 'You were the bad guy. I'm just doing what I'm told.' He had a menacing scream, and dashed with fury. I narrowly avoided him, and knocked him into a tree. He tried to use his sword, but I deflected his attack again! I looked at my hands as he got pushed back- Was I really that powerful this whole time? Then I did something I didn’t think I’d ever do. 'What? You can't tell them that I used my powers to hurt someone now!' I jokingly said. Winston was showing no mercy. Dang, he must've really wanted me to die! He had no sign of stopping his attacks. Surprisingly, one by one, I deflected them all. Everypony else stood in amazement. 'Wow, I've never seen someone that strong before!' Sweetie Belle said. 'I know! I hope he's okay, but I bet he'll win!' Apple Bloom followed. Scootaloo was really excited. 'You can do it, Nathan!' As all the little fillies started chanting my name, I knew I can't lose. But one mistake of getting distracted almost gave him the edge to kill me. His blade nearly pierced my heart. '(Scream) I'll kill you!!' Winston roared. As he started rushing, I remembered a strategy. 'Wait for your enemy to become impatient,' Frisk reminded. 'The more they push their patience, the more careless they'll get.' I started to run, making the bully chase me. I turned, and ran straight towards a wall. I did a flip off the wall, and in that tiny timeframe window, I slipped out my portal gun and fired it. Landing behind him, who was confused and puzzled, I yelled: 'Get dunked, idiot!' I kicked him into the portal, and he disappeared, yelling in anger as he dropped into the abyss. As I turned to the children, they were all surprised and felt glad he was gone. The crusaders ran over to me. 'Thanks for the help,' Apple Bloom said, relieved. 'He was really stirring some bullying around our friends!' 'I know,' Scootaloo added. 'We haven't seen a bully like that, not even Babs is that bad!' I started chuckling and became a bit shy. 'Haha, I didn't do that well, did I?' I laughed. 'Sorry you all had to witness that, though. It's kinda bad for your age.' I glanced at Cheerilee. She didn't seem to have a problem with it, so I sighed in relief. Twilight flew over from behind and smiled. 'That was amazing!' She commented. 'Guess Frisk taught you a lot of stuff, huh?' I scratched my head. 'Well, that's just one guy. I may have to deal with several more in the future. Huh, lucky me, I didn't get hurt from that fight!' Twilight and I both laughed. 'So, wanna tell her what happened?' She asked. 'Sure!' As soon I told Frisk, she was very pleased. 'Nice job,' She nodded. 'At least you're matched up against him now! Don't get cocky, though. I'm guessing that he doesn't have the abilities you do, but when he does, it will much harder.' My face turned red when she praised me. 'It's all because of your support, master,' I replied. Twilight just thought about something. 'By the way... Where did you send him anyway?' I started to giggle. 'Well...' In fact, I placed a portal beforehand in case something like that happened. Where did I place it, you ask? Literally in the middle of nowhere back in the town I live in. 'Yup, he's not coming to bug us anytime soon,' I said, laughing. All three of us laughed, and I put my arms around Frisk and Twilight. It wasn't long until I have mastered the different aspects of combat. Ranged, melee, classical, magic, you name it. Even so, I would never use it to hurt my friends. Never. Many in the past were unwise; They use this power for themselves to harm others and get what they want. I thought, 'Why the hostility? Why so selfish?' I use my powers for good. To protect my pony friends from the injustices of the world and probably save them all one day. I never had any other target that I wanted to complete for being so powerful. The only mission I have in my mind is to get my revenge on those who used to treat me cruelly. It's not like I'll follow Frisk, Twilight and Asriel to defeat villains and destroy dark magic or anything. They're far beyond my abilities. Even so, the magic of friendship continued to grow in my heart. I recovered my personality of being open, friendly and caring. I had amazing friends that I would hang out with most of the time, I get to explore a magical land that I've once dreamed of going, and I made a pretty good reputation for myself in both Equestria and a bit in the human world. But that's just it. I don't know why, but I feel like my time with my friends- Especially my dear Twilight, is starting to run out. I knew something bad was coming. Unfortunately, that day did come. //-------------------------------------------------------// The War //-------------------------------------------------------// The War Today, has to be one of the worst days of my life. It hasn't happened yet, but this day would be even worse then the day my parents die. I always loved ponykind. I loved their peace and harmony. I could start to feel love again. In the past, I was living in what seemed like a hopeless world. I didn't have friends, there were conflicts, there was hatred... I couldn't bear it. But, a glitter of hope cast by Twilight was enough to save me. But today... It's all going to fall apart. And it's all my fault... A few days ago, I got captured by someone I have never seen before. He knows Frisk, because she's the one he wants revenge on. I thought, 'Revenge for what? What has she done to you?' He just replied, 'You don't need to know. But, if you join us, and we win, I'll tell.' 'Win what?' I gasped. 'Wait, you don't mean...' I knew he had a sinister smile behind that robe. 'Exactly. If you join us and prevail, I will give you all the power you want. You won't be inferior to others anymore. I understand you have been suffering from beaten down by others before, have you not? Through this battle, you get the chance to show those people your true power. Once we win, I will let you... You know what I mean,' He persuaded. 'But... But I don't want to harm my friends!' I shouted. He stopped pacing around. 'Oh, your friends. You see... Do you think they really care for you? Are you sure that we two races can really establish all of this collaborations and whatnot? It's true; War is bound to happpen sometime between us. It's inevitable. Why are you trying to defend what's right when it's impossible?' I stopped, and started to think. 'I'll give you two choices. You join, and we'll win, and your wildest dreams of being powerful come true. If you refuse...' His sword was heard loud and clear as he took it out. I had a dilemma: How do I get out of here without getting killed or doing the wrong thing? I can't teleport, because my hands are tied to a pole. I don't want to die just like this. But... That means I'll have to join these awful, heartless, and to be honest, inhumane humans! And harm my friends in the process! But... The thought of being able to seek my own vengeance... It's tempting. If we win... I'll finally take revenge. No, no! That's wrong! I will never do that! I'm a man of mercy. Why must I be so vengeful? 'Come on, make your decision already,' He told me, starting to walk towards me with his sword. Whatever my decision is, I'll be unsatisfied anyway. Join them, my friends get killed. Don't join, and I'll die just like this. At last, I sighed and answered him. He was right. A while later, he wanted to declare full-on war with the ponies! And I was part of the plan! I started it! What am I doing with my life!? But, there was no avoiding it. Now, I'll have to do something that's just so cruel. Twilight is gonna be so mad at me after this... One night, about a week after the ponies shut down the portals, probably because they were holding off the attacks, I sneaked into Equestria, thanks to my portal abilities. I had my magic ready for my mission, and even before I did it, I was starting to cry already. I saw her, sitting alone in the library. She seemed to be working on how they can turn the situation around. Well, they have no choice but to defend anyway. I started to cry even harder, but I was trying so hard to not make a sound. After a few minutes of guiltiness, I finally walked behind her. 'Forgive me, Frisk,' I said. She turned. 'What the-' Before she could finish, I already smacked her down to the floor and used magic to tie her up, so she can't escape. To make it more secure, I even made a bubble she couldn't run out of. She started to scream, and I was crying. 'What are you doing!?' She screamed at me. It's a bit muffled, though, due to the bubble. '(Cries) I'm sorry, Frisk... I have no choice!' I cried. Suddenly, Starlight rushed over to the commotion. She gasped. 'Nathan!? What in Equestria are you doing to her!?' Crying, I wanted to pull her into the portal. But Starlight keeps using magic to hold the bubble back. 'Tell the others I'm so, so sorry for this... (cries) I didn't mean to... I didn't want all of this to happen... Please don't hurt me...' I kept stuttering. In the midst of me crying, Frisk somehow used her magic and knocked Starlight back. 'It's okay, Nathan. Take me, if that's what you came to do,' She sighed. I was confused. 'What? Your friends... They'll be gone forever after this! Are you serious!?' She shook her head. 'If Twilight's not gonna stay by my side, then I won't either! I will join you humans, and take down the ponykind once and for all!' Starlight gasped. 'You were a traitor all along!?' Frisk looked at her with her determined eyes. The mare stepped back. 'Nathan, we'll talk more later. Right now, whatever you're trying to do... Finish it.' Frisk said. 'And Starlight, even though I want to defeat all of you, I still pray you girls will be okay. I still love you all, well, at least six of you. I pray you'll be alright before the war ends.' Going to the portal, I glanced at Starlight. She was crying. 'I'm sorry, Starlight. Tell the others.' I said. 'This war is happening.' I was humiliated after that night. Frisk joined us, and became leader of the human side. I didn't know this, but Twilight apparently became a temprary leader of the ponykind as well. A week later, the ponies declared war on humans. Well, this is just great! I caused the greatest war of human history to happen! But in all seriousness... I felt so guilty. Just that was enough for me. But I had no choice. The king commanded that anyone who refuses to join the war will be dropped dead. Because of this, so many countries who wanted to make peace were forced in the war. I saw everything. Their lives were even worse when this went on. I was with Frisk, side-by-side. We were dominating through the early few years of the battle. But, I wasn't happy. After a while, I realized why Frisk decided to join us. After the siege on Canterlot that caused the war (Might as well just call it 'The Canterlot incident', as Historians call it), Twilight and Frisk had a really big fallout with each other. Twilight was mad at Frisk about everything that had to do with collaborating with the humans. Frisk yelled back at her, and they were done with each other, separating far apart. I started to develop depression and anxiety. There was no one else to blame other than the king. I started this. If I didn't join, perhaps this would be averted. Every day, I couldn't sleep that well. I had to keep taking these pills to keep me fueled up for the fights. I couldn't sleep, because I was crying at how I was so blinded at the time. I demolished all my friends' hopes and dreams. I knew they've had harmony for a long time. And I broke it. I blame myself for everything in this war. And this war is going to tear my best friends apart. I know Frisk and Twilight have always loved their best friend. But this war is only going to destory their friendship. It already did. One night, I was going to go to bed, when I saw a text on my phone. It was Twilight. I sighed, and hid myself under the blanket (So nobody sees me) as I texted to her. 'Hey, Spark. How is life recently?' I asked. She sighed. 'Hi, Nathan. (Sigh) My life is a total mess at the moment...' My heart sank. I made her feel like this. 'I'm sorry,' I said. 'I put you all in danger, it's my fault. I took Frisk away. Perhaps you ponies would at least make a good defense against us cruel humans.' 'I know that,' Twilight replied. 'I don't care what happens to her. As leader of the pony race, I wish that they will get the punishment they deserve for attacking us. I don't need Frisk anyway, I hate her!' I was shocked. 'What exactly happened between you both? I knew it briefly, but...' She didn't reply for a few minutes. 'If she didn't do all this collaboration stuff with the humans, we would have been living happily. I don't get why she needed to do this in the first place,' Twilight explained. 'And she even turned against me!' “Calm down!” I urged her. I could already feel the rage pouring in her heart from her messages. “I... I can’t!” She growled. “Equestria is getting destroyed every minute this war goes on! And it’s her fault! I told her this could happen!” I wanted to cheer her up. “Twilight, listen,” I told her. “I won’t be here without you.” “Huh?” I sighed. “The only reason why I met you, is because of the ties between your kind and ours. I don’t understand why our king attacked you. It’s not about Frisk. Not me, not you, and not your friends either. I’m being honest, I didn’t want to harm you.” She didn’t reply for a while. “I know...” She cried. “But I cant just sit back and watch my nation die, can I?” I went silent. “Nathan...” Twilight sighed. “I- I... I’m gonna go. I... I can’t do this right now. I can’t do anything right now.” I tilted my head in confusion- Why would she say that? She is the most confident pony I’ve seen in my life. I know she can do things right and she never goes into a battle without a plan. I never imagined she would be powerless against anypony. But soon, it hit me. And I wasn’t that happy. “So, that’s it, huh?” I asked her. “Wh-What?” “You used me,” I said. “You tried to use me so you can get the confidence to try new things, and since the war started, because we’re separated, you can’t do anything to stop this battle.” “Huh?” Twilight was puzzled. “Wh-What are you talking about!?” I sighed. “I wanted to be your friend, because you were such a big role model for me. You knew everything about friendship and you taught me to be a better friend. I’ve always been by your side. But... Are you so powerless, to the point that without me, you’re just curling into a ball? I can’t believe it.” Twilight gasped, and hmphed. “Well,” She retorted, “You are doing the same thing!” “I beg your pardon, princess?” “You wanted to be friends with me just to cure your loneliness at school. I see it now,” Twilight explained. “I knew I can help you to be more social and have friends. But I didn’t think this was the sole reason you wanted to be my best friend... You betrayed me! Why would you be friends with me, just for your own thirst for company and vengeance for what happened to you then?” I tried to fake the truth out. “N-No! You don’t know what I used to go through!” “I do,” Twilight replied. “You told me so much about what happened to you before. You’re telling completely white lies. I seriously couldn’t believe you wanted to be our pal, just to feel respected, just to feel someone would love them, just to get the confidence to stand up to their fears... With violence. I could already picture it- You joined them, because the king offered you power. If you win, he will give you the power for revenge. But as a pacifist, I won’t let you do that.” I gasped. She knew everything. There was nowhere to hide. So I fought back with tears in my eye. “I don’t understand,” I said. “You can’t be serious about all of this.” “I am, Nathan. Why would you lie to me, all this time?” I’ve had enough. “Well, Twilight... Why did you lie to me about our friendship, then!?” “What do you mean!?” I wanted to groan, but the others will hear me so I didn’t. “You were a fraud all along. I trusted you, Twilight. You were everything I hoped for... But you decided to betray me, knowing every little plan I had. A true friend would never do that- Even if they did, they would surely have told their pal sooner in a more calm way- But you weren’t like that.” Surprisingly, Twilight pushed it further. “You are the fraud!” She growled. “You were the one who used me to fulfill your wishes!” I didn’t want to continue playing the game anymore. I was done with Twilight. And she was done with me too. “You know what?” I asked. “Hmph, What?” I let a tear escape my eye. I sighed, and texted back. “See you after the war.” “Wh- Huh!? Wait!” “Goodbye, Twilight Sparkle.” I proceeded to delete her contact on my phone- Something I never wanted to do. It only took me a few seconds to regret it. Tears leaked out of my eyes, my frown grew big, my hands naturally covering my teary face. I started to cry. I laid my head on my pillow, the tears soaking the pillowcase as I slept. I made probably the biggest mistake of my life- And I can’t turn back the clock. Fast forward three to four years later since the war started, the war was at a stalemate, surprisingly. The two sides were starting to crumble down on supplies and all that. Well, it's not much of a problem for me, since I could create these things with my magic. As I was going to the training area through jumping through portals, I noticed some really familiar people, they were training with Frisk. It was really exciting to watch, and I stood outside the fighting ground to watch. All of them were shooting magic everywhere and all Frisk is doing is defending and yet she won. I was so amazed at my master. 'That was some good fighting,' One said. 'You're more than welcome to join our little group.' 'Thanks,' Frisk replied. As she was shaking his hand, I came in. 'No way... Aren't you guys YouTubers? How did you guys get swept into the war?' I asked in surprise. My friend laughed. 'I know, right? So... I suppose you know all five of them?' I nodded, and started to point out all five of them. 'I know all of you. Mark, Jessica, Dan, Stacy and Joseph, right?' All of them nodded. 'We became quite close since we all joined the war. I'm kinda the leader of the group,' Mark explained. Joseph sighed a bit. 'This war is really annoying. That's why we got together, we all wanted to see if we can put a stop to it.' 'I know,' Dan followed. 'Why would we want to fight the ponies anyway? I wouldn't.' 'I wouldn't either, I love them!' Jessica said. 'By the way... What's your name exactly?' Frisk put her hand on my shoulder 'This is Nathan, one of my close friends.' All of them gasped. They knew who I am. 'Wait, you're Nathan? The one who has video game powers!?' Stacy squeaked, feeling excited. I had a ball of magic in my hand like it's nothing. 'Oh, it's nothing. It's just me,' I said, laughing. All of them were instantly excited. They all had a passion for gaming and didn't think they were gonna see the one who has these powers so quickly. 'Alright,' Frisk chuckled. 'How about we go have a bit of chatting time?' 'Oh, right,' Stacy said, creating a portal with her portal gun, one of the powers she chose. 'Follow me!' Since then, life started to get better. I had some pretty cool friends to keep me company through my darkest period of time. Well, not everyone gets to spend time with their favorite YouTubers, right? I've been filled with thoughts of betrayal for a long time. And finally, I have someone to talk to about it. Funny enough, it seems to me Frisk is starting to be a little less motivated to fight a while after. I didn't realize why at the time. One day, I heard the shocking news Frisk got captured by the humans. I saw everything and I heard everything she said. For the first time in quite some time, I heard she said that she missed her friend, Twilight Sparkle. I was heartbroken and I was furious at the humans' treatment of Frisk and her two friends, Mark and Jessica. I ran away to Britannica, and I ran into someone familiar. '(Gasp) Oh, I think I know you from somewhere...' She said, trying to recall her memory. 'You do?' I asked. She remembered. 'Oh yeah! You're my daughter's friend, Nathan, right?' 'I am indeed. Your daughter... You mean Frisk?' I questioned further. 'I am Chara. You seem to be rushing... What's the matter?' Chara asked. 'If you are a friend of my child's, then I will help you.' I had an idea, and whispered it into her ear. 'I see. Don't worry, come with me. The school I teach in is abandoned, but for now, you'll be safe to do anything you mentioned in your plan.' She was worried, but she took my hand and ran. I immediately phoned Stacy to break the news. 'Hello? Oh, hey Nathan, what is going on?' Stacy asked through the call. 'By the way... Frisk has been gone for a while and she's still not back yet. Do you happen to know what happened to her?' 'I was about to explain it to you,' I said worriedly. 'She got captured for betrayal!' She was shocked. 'What!? Is this true!? Where is she? We need to go rescue her!' '(Sigh) I heard that she got captured by the other armies, and they will be locked up. I was at the scene, but no one noticed me, thank goodness. Anyway, she is in trouble; Not only that, even Jess and Mark got caught as well!' I explained further. She was shocked. 'No wonder they haven't come back yet! I saw them went out and never came back for the past few days!' Suddenly, on the other side of the call, I saw a general passing by. 'Hold on one minute,' I said, dropping the call. (A few moments later) 'Sorry about that, someone wanted to talk to me, but everything is fine.' I stuttered a bit because of my nervousness. 'Now, where were we, Stacy?' 'Frisk got captured and we need to go rescue her.' She reminded me. 'Ah, right. I have a plan for you, Dan and Joseph. If you do as I say, we can help free the trio and escape.' 'Sounds good!' Stacy replied. 'One request, though.' I said. 'Are you willing to risk your life to betray the human race, and help the ponies like me?' She went silent, but then said, 'We all share the same fate. We will fight for peace, not power. We will all accept this challenge.' 'Excellent, we will carry out the plan in probably a few days, I am trusting in you three.' 'Won't let you down, buddy.' She said, hanging up the call. Suddenly, Joseph and Dan went over to her. 'You were on the phone for quite a while... What's wrong?' Dan asked. Stacy smiled. 'We are going to save the ponykind, my friends.' The two have no idea what she was talking about, but they agreed anyway with no objection. So, a few days later, I was able to steal a helicopter from the army base of Britannica. I got attacked, but it wasn't long until I escaped. Plus, I had a magic aura so it won't get damaged. I picked up Dan, Joseph and Stacy, taught them briefly how everything works, and set off to find the other three. When we got there thanks to someone carelessly giving me the exact place of where it is, I stepped down and infiltrated the base. I told them I was coming to visit the three and tell them how stupid they were of trying to betray us, but in fact, when I got there, I punched him hard and used a potion to make him fall into a coma. I grabbed his keycard and helped the trio escape. 'I don't know why you're helping us, but thank you, Nathan,' Frisk said, patting my shoulder. 'You can thank me later, right now we need to get out of here, follow me!' I said, taking out my guns and passing them to the three for defense. Our escape was caught by security, but we shot them down easily. Our bullets doesn't actually do damage, it only puts the enemy to sleep. We got to the top, but as we almost took off, the king rushed over (He was apparently nearby when I carried out the plan) and tried to stop us. But, clever Joseph used a spell and the base went boom at an instant. Our escape was successful. However, my heart sank. I knew I had to explain everything. Frisk brought up the question of why I suddenly changed my mind and betrayed the humans. I had no choice but to explain the whole thing from the beginning. Yes, even the reason of why I joined in the first place. So I did. Everyone was shocked and what I've done. 'How long... How long have you been keeping this away from us?' Jessica asked. I was silent. 'How long have you been doing this!?' Mark accidentally roared. He face palmed himself. I was crying. I didn't want my friends to get harmed at all. But, I had no choice. My temptation led me into doing this. Yet, Frisk still forgave me, even after all that happened. I'm glad she still had a soft side even after 4 years of fighting. And a while later, Frisk and Twilight finally decided to make up! Since I still didn’t have Twilight’s contact on my phone, I desperately begged Asriel, Frisk’s brother, to tell Twilight about what Frisk is going through. After our escape, Frisk had a serious emotional breakdown- Se had to kill her former pony friend. Not too long later, he texted me back saying Twilight was having an emotional breakdown too- For arguing with her best friend. And now, she must pay the price. To die. But of course, Twilight knew- Frisk would not kill her, no matter how much they hated each other at the time. So she accepted the challenge- And fought with her in the Britannica Palace. But they didn’t end it with one being victorious. Both of them were. When I knew about it, I had to come and find Twilight. I was so so embarrassed and mad at myself for what I said to her some time ago. And I had to come clean with her friends too- For what I did to Frisk, For what the king told me, literally everything I did to cause this war. I don’t want to be a traitor. But a good man must admit to his own sin. So I did what I must. I peeked into the hallway after everyone seemed to be reunited. When I did, what I saw melted my heart. The two leaders were embracing in a tight hug with each other, nuzzling and crying. I couldn’t exactly tell what they said, though, because of the tears and how muffled and shaky the voices were. On the side, I could just see the mane six, the new humans and even Princess Celestia herself was there. This was my chance! But I didn’t want to interrupt the moment- So I waited. At least until the two stopped crying and let go. It was only a few brief minutes, so I was okay with it. In those minutes, however- I started thinking, “What if she still didn’t forgive me? Did she forget about me?” No! I can’t be that shy to admit my wrongdoings. I’m a man that has stood up to much challenge before. This shouldn’t be an exception. So I went for it. I walked into the hallway, with a frown. “Everypony?” I called out. They all turned over. Everyone was silent, except Twilight, Who had a huge gasp. I’ve completely forgotten how beautiful she was- It’s been years since I’ve seen her. When we met eye contact, I saw her purple eyes sparkle with surprise, and her mouth putting on a giant smile. Seeing her happy definitely made me cheerful too. So I hid my feelings and smiled back. “I-I... I came t-to... I came to apologize,” I stuttered as I walked closer. “There’s something I need to-“ I stopped- I felt the warmest wing-hug around my body. I didn’t even notice while I was talking, Twilight Sparkle ran over to me to give me a big hug. The Grip was so tight, and tears leaked out her eyes. She held onto me like she was a little filly who just found her father after getting lost, not letting herself touch the ground. Her sobbing made her nuzzle me in content, having separated from me, one of her closest friends, for a few years and by such a ridiculous misunderstanding. There wasn’t any reaction I could give. All I did, was froze in place and looked at my beloved friend. “*sobs* I-I... *cries* I’m sorry... *sniff* I’m so, so, sorry...” I could tell Twilight struggled so hardly to utter those words out- Her crying made it almost unrecognisable. I finally had the courage to return the hug. I wrapped my arms around my sweet pony, and tightened my grip. I sighed in bliss and absolute content as I nuzzled her. “Spark...” I told her, brushing her mane, hoping it would silence her tears. “You do not have anything... *sniff* You have nothing to apologize about... *sobs* You know nothing about what I did... You all have no idea what I had to go through to be alive... All of this, is my own fault...” Everyone, apart from the humans, who knew what I was going to bring up, was confused, and looked to one another. I didn’t really show a sign that I would be stopping the lovely moment. “I was wrong. And you know that, Twilight... Forgive me, please?” I begged her. She cried and sniffed. Then she let out a chuckle. “Y-Yes... You were the one I depended on for my happiness this whole time... I don’t want you to leave...” I nodded, and let go. “You were my source of happiness too.” We smiled, and we’re both glad to make up. But, what didn’t make me glad, was what came next. “*clears throat* Nathan,” Frisk suddenly spoke up. “I believe you have-“ “Yes, captain,” I responded. “I know. Will do, right now.” I motioned Twilight to stand by her pony friends and the princess. This was super nervous for me- I would be killed for betrayal as their ally. I could be accused of being a spy. I didn’t want to admit what I did, what my goal was, and my thirst for vengeance. However... As Celestia said once, “Sometimes, a truth from the heart is better than a well-meant lie.” “To begin, Everypony,” I said, rubbing my hands in discomfort and nervousness. “*gulp* I-I... There’s nothing I could really say now. I... I deeply, deeply, apologize for all you had to go through.” Starlight was curious. “What do you mean?” I took a very deep breath, and after a minute of unsuccessful attempts, the suspense was already killing my friends. Not wanting to delay my potential death any longer, I said it. “I-I... *sigh* I started this war. Not the king.” They all gasped at the same time. “You Made this war happen!?” Rainbow Dash couldn’t believe her ears. Fluttershy was scared. “Oh, but why?” “Yeah! What’s going on?” Pinkie asked with her intrigued voice. “Do tell us, darling,” Rarity suggested. I looked to Twilight, and she came to give me a pat on the back. She nodded to me. “Well,” I sighed. “A couple years ago, you would remember I suddenly went missing. In fact... The king captured me. He told me that if I helped him on winning the war, he would give me all the power I wanted. I’ve been bullied for all my life and cyberbullied when I grew up like now, by those stupid idiots that are oh so inhumane. I wanted the power. I needed it. I took the offer. I had to anyway, because if I didn’t, I’ll die. I know, a true soldier would seek death over suffocation. But with you all on the line, and seeing you do so much for me... *sniff* I...” I broke down and kneeled down on the cold floor in defeat, and started to cry loudly. “P-Please... Don’t kill me...” I begged and sobbed uncontrollably. Twilight came over to support me. So did Applejack. “There, there, sugarcube. Let it all out. Don’t say anything else, we’ve heard enough,” Applejack told me. Twilight agreed. “If you don’t want to, we wouldn’t force you.” I just tried to hug them and cry. Streams of tears leaked out my eyes- I just admitted betraying my best friends and the ponykind. I ruined everything- If I didn’t take the offer, none of this would happen. “I... *crying* I just wanted... *sob* I don’t want to... *sob* To lose you all...” Nobody was smiling at what I just said. Especially the ponies. I knew- I loved them so, so much, to the point I didn’t want my time with them to end. I didn’t want to die and end my friendships with them. But no one could’ve predicted all of this mess. They knew I cared about them- But if I did, why would I make the decision to do this? Why would I make them suffer? Nothing was right about me. I was selfish. I was blinded. And I had a thirst for vengeance. A thirst... For someone’s blood. A few minutes later, I stood up. I dropped all of my weapons I had with me, and disabled all my protective armour. I surrendered to them, kneeling down. I spawned in a black-coloured potion, and gave it to the group. “Wh-What are you doing...?” Twilight asked. I glanced at her, and sighed. “I committed a crime to you all,” I said formally. “You have no reason to forgive me.” Everypony gasped, but said nothing as I put my hands up. “*sniff* Whenever you’re ready,” I cried. They all were shocked. But that didn’t change my mind- All I wanted, was to show them how much I owe them, all this time. I was just one, big sin to them for making that choice. I wanted them to forget about me. Forget this traitor of ponykind. Forget this powerless soul, who has nothing but harsh words and greed for power and attention. I wanted them to kill me. My eyes closed. And... *splash* “Look at me, Nathan.” I opened my eyes once more- I wasn’t dead yet. Why? “No. I’m giving you the chance. Do it, Celestia.” I glanced to the left. I saw the potion- Shattered to a million bits, the liquid leaking out. I refused to listen to her- She had no reason to prolong the conversation. But, all she did, was lift my head up, with a smile. “Stop it. I don’t deserve this.” Celestia shook her head and lifted me back on my feet with magic. “I said STOP! Just... Just-!” And then, when I was at the brink of exploding, I felt something on my back. Something... Light and smooth. Something large, soft and feathery. It was a pair of wings. My tears flowed out. I don’t want my death to delay any more. But I couldn’t get my spell to work- I was seemingly squeezed by an unknown force. When I did open my eyes and were made clear, I saw a coat of white fur. When I finally realized it, I thought it had to be fake. Princess Celestia gave me a hug! The greatest princesses ever just hugged me tight! And after I said all those things! “Thank you, Nathan,” She said kindly. I looked up at her like she was my caring mother. “B-But... *sob* Why? I betrayed you, Celestia! I destroyed Canterlot! I made so many ponies-“ She used a spell to silence me. She also placed a hoof on my cheek. “There’s no such thing as death penalty in our world, Nathan,” She giggled. “Also... Why care so much about our scars in the past? We need to move on. We all must. Even I couldn’t turn back the clock. I would love to change the past however I wish- I made many horrible mistakes too, like you. However, no. It can’t be done. Rather than lamenting about the past... You can change into the person you wish to be.” Celestia winked, and the humans came too. “My friend,” Frisk said. “I was never mad at you when you took me away. But, if you don’t come join us now... You better be ready for a pounding.” She clenched her fists, and I nudged her playfully. “No, please. Please don’t, Frisk,” I laughed. Asriel stood on my right. “You are a brave fighter. You know what’s right, Nathan. Don’t surrender to the dark. Be yourself. Don’t let others change you.” The gamers all nodded in agreement. Looking around, all the familiar and friendly faces gave me so much confidence and courage. Even after what I did, even after my own selfish plan, even after all they’ve suffered... They were willing to forgive. It was the most heartwarming act I’ve seen before my eyes. Twilight tapped me from behind. “Frisk and I made up already,” She said, offering me a hoof. “You can do what’s right. I believe in you, Nate.” I had a big smile. I knew just what to do. I took out my phone and called the king. “Hello? Hey, your majesty... I, uhh... *chuckles* Got some pretty embarrassing news to tell ya.” The king was rather unsatisfied with my tone. “Pardon, Nathan?” I made a cold smile. “Congrats, you played yourself. Goodbye.” “WHAT!? NO, HOW DARE YOU-“ *beep* We all had a hysterical laugh, and I shook Twilight’s hoof gladly. “Does this mean you forgive me, Twi?” “Of course, Nate.” It was on the very day we took back Britannica. However, Frisk decided to step down, since she doesn't want to be fighting for the humans anymore. The country promised to be Equestria's ally, though. After I made amends with Celestia and Luna, they ultimately forgave me and I was back to the family I know and love. I got to fight for what's right; I can finally get out of the grasp of the darkness. Because of this, we started to win battle after battle that year. At this point, I finally see that things were looking up and it's not as miserable as before. However, my life-long mission... The battle I have trained for... My ultimate goal and dream... It's still left undone. And in this midst of chaos, I swear to my friends, and I swear to god, I will put an end to my suffering. Let those maniacs come, I'm willing to risk it. Injure me all you want. Stop me with all of your might. You can even KILL me. But no matter what, I shall stand my ground and I make this resolution tonight: I, Nathan Hon, will not give up, UNTIL THEY SURRENDER BY MY HANDS. Author's Note Warning! If you do not like a **** ton of violence and you don’t like demonish things DO NOT CLICK ON THE NEXT CHAPTER! Even tho it’s important to the story I am doing this for your own good because there is gonna be a lot of violence and blood. (I rated it everyone because this is the only chapter that is teen rated) You have been warned. //-------------------------------------------------------// A Fateful Day //-------------------------------------------------------// A Fateful Day During the war, I've been seeing a lot of posters back at my own country that was really humiliating. It was about an evil group of some kind of terrorists, 'The Black Hand'. Pretty interesting name, copycats. Well, some people will think that they are terrorists or some sort, but it was different for me. I knew those people. The locals told me about those people. I knew immediately who they were. That's right; While I was out and about in the war, those idiots... The ones who harmed my teenage years... They have been stirring chaos around my hometown in China. The good thing is, we managed to win against them. They agreed to join us too. As I was trotting along the streets before I went back to Equestria, I saw the news that the Black Hand was on the loose again. I saw posters- tons of them, telling people to join them. I knew that they had the same fate as me, executed if they didn't join. I looked at one of them. Frisk, who was beside me, was confused. 'What's the matter?' She asked. That poster was such a ripoff. The new leader, Winston (Who was completely hostile to me, unlike the others who had a bit of a soft side), was pointing at the reader, and the text read this: 'In this world, it's kill or BE killed. You know which role you want to be.' In rage, I grabbed the poster and ripped it into pieces. I wasn't just angry. I was furious. You're telling me, people would want to kill? Is your mind even working, you idiot? 'Frisk... Do you think that... Even the weakest person in the past, can overcome their greatest fears, if they just try?' I asked. She nodded. 'Of course. That's why I got to today.' 'Do you... Do you think I can win, if I went to fight them?' Frisk thought for a bit as we continued to walk along. 'I don't really know. I'm unsure. But, I know you can do it.' I went to ask Twilight the same question when I returned. We were casually at the top of the castle, looking over ponyville. 'So... Twilight? Can I ask something?' 'Yeah?' She responded. 'You know the Black Hand? That terrorist group? I have had a long history with them. They were the ones who harmed my life, the ones I told you about. Do you... Do you think I will win against them if I fought them?' Like Frisk, Twilight thought for a while. 'Anything can happen, Nathan,' She said. 'No one knows who will win.' I just crossed my arms behind my head. 'It's just... This is the reason why I wanted to join the king in this war in the first place. I wanted to take my own vengeance. I thought that if the humans won, he would let me do anything I have hoped for. He could give me all the power I once wished for. But... I don't think he will now.' I said, depressed. I sighed and laid my hand down on the bench we were sitting on. 'You all are why I can continue my life till today. I'll never forget that. You helped me feel that I was loved. You guys treated me as a friend, a sibling. I'm so thankful for everything.' I continued. 'But... If I do win this fight... The reason why I need you is done for. I don't want to leave you all. You're my family. You're my everything, especially you, Spark.' As I looked to the sky, Twilight kindly placed her hoof and held my hand. '(Laughs) I'm glad to know you've changed for the better. But, winning against those awful humans doesn't mean you'll have to leave.' She said. 'We'll love to have you stay with us and continue our friendship. And, you'll surely be lonely without us by your side.' I smiled. She really cared for me as a friend, didn't she? 'Actually... You don't have to be so harsh against them. I know you're a kind and merciful person, like Frisk. Fighting can't solve anything. I bet with mercy, and our support, we can surely help you, if this plan is what you're going to do. There's no need to fight, now is there?' She explained wisely. To be honest, she's right- Why am I still filled with vengeance and craving for their souls? Is life really that horrific? I need to learn to forgive and forget. That's what my friends think of me. I'm not a serial killer, I am a merciful and normal being, just like them. 'You're right,' I replied after a while. 'I guess Genocide isn't the only way.' The princess nodded. 'That's the spirit.' As she was going to walk away, I was shy and wanted to ask her something. 'Twilight?' I called out. She turned, smiling. 'What is it, my friend?' I walked to her, and gave her a warming hug. 'Thanks for always being there for me.' I whispered to her. 'Honestly... I love you, my best friend.' She chuckled a bit, and put her wings around me. 'I don't know when you're going to carry out the plan. But... If you are going to, good luck.' Twilight told me. 'And... I feel the same way about you, Nate.' About a week later, an unexpected visit was paid by one of my former schoolmates. 'Nathan! Thank goodness I found you!' She said. I turned. 'Oh, Natalie! I haven't seen you in some time. What's the matter?' Walking over, she was gasping and feeling very nervous. 'This is so bad... So, so awful!' She exclaimed. 'What?' She held her phone in front of me, that captured a shocking video. 'This is outrageous!' Someone said in the video. I couldn't see who the man was, but I knew immediately who it was by his voice. It was Jason! He was with his fellow gang, watching as the news confirmed China joined the pony side. The Black Hand didn't want that to happen. 'It is an absolute disgrace for our powerful country to surrender to a silly myth,' Elliot responded. Tommy nodded. 'This is true. It must be his doing! You know, that idiot!' Oscar sounded pretty mad and was determined. 'It has to be! Who will believe in such myth? And, who else can you think of that would believe the ponies existed in the first place?' All of them nodded. 'So, what's the plan, leader?' Jacky asked. The man, who sat down facing away from the camera, was laughing. 'He thinks he could get away and take revenge that easily, eh?' He sneered. 'Well... If he is that loyal to his "friends", let's see if he really cares about them more than anything else.' He pushed a button, and a secret room in their hideout appeared. What I saw from the video made me absolutely speechless. 'WHAAAAAT!?' I screamed at the top of my lungs as I saw it. My parents were tied to two chairs, with their mouths shut with tape. 'Why, hello, you two,' he said. 'Having a good time?' My mom was crying. I couldn't tell what he said, but my father was probably going to shout 'You all should go to hell!' '(Laughing) Soon, he will come over. And once he does...' He signalised that he was going to cut their throats in half. They were instantly trying to scream. He turned around: Winston. 'Hahahaha.... Muhahahaha!! Once that day comes, we shall finally make his life so miserable, he will surely kill himself! And when he does... I will laugh at their pointless friends as long as we live!' He said, raising his blade to the ceiling. Everyone else cheered. Well, not everyone, actually. Behind the corner, Natalie captured the entire footage of their plan. 'Oh no... I must warn him!' She thought. But as she wanted to run, she accidentally dropped her phone on the ground. The gang heard it. Winston jumped from his chair. 'Who's there!?' Feeling a bit scared, yet burning with determination, Natalie stepped out from around the corner. 'Aha! You are all in big trouble!' She roared, holding the phone with the recording. He took out his gun and fired it, but she barely escaped. 'Men! Chase that traitor!' He commanded. 'I thought you were once a good pal, but I now see you're a snitch all along, trying to help that brat!' As Natalie ran through the streets through the gun shots, she forgot to stop recording, thus the whole chase was recorded. That was more than enough to prove these guys were committing a crime. She hid in the narrow hallways of the street. Then it was practically a labyrinth, thus the people chasing lost her. In fact, she was really clever; she ducked and hid behind a wall that conveniently blocked off a dead end in the maze. She came out after hearing the gun shots stopping. 'Phew... That was close...' Natalie thought. Then she saw her phone. 'Oh, shoot! I was recording? Well, might as well keep it on until I get to a safe place, just in case.' Somehow, it was about ten at night, yet she was able to travel to the portal site that could take her to Equestria in her town. Since the town was already occupied by the ponies and the country wanted to help them, the portal network was reactivated. Natalie turned off her recording, after one last sentence. 'Oh, Nathan... I hope you're ready,' She said. ********* I was shocked from head to toe- My parents were kidnapped! “Waitwaitwaitwaitwait,” I panicked, waving my hands no in disbelief. “There are so many things wrong with this- First thing: How the absolute world did you escape to tell me the news? Second, is this true? For all I know they’ve done a lot of bad stuff to me in my life but not THIS!” Natalie shook her head as she put away her phone. “I’m not joking, I caught them discussing about it...” She sighed. “I’m so sorry. This is all I can do to help you.” I didn’t mind- All I wanted to know was the situation. It’s finally time- This was my chance! I finally get to face my fears, head on, with no interruptions this time! I have been waiting and waiting endlessly for today to happen- Training hard in the army and with Frisk day by day, week by week... And now, the opportunity has arrived- I can finally earn the shot to bring the bad boys down. And I won’t let it slide. I turned after collecting my thoughts. I gave her a hug, which surprised her. “Thank you for warning me,” I told her kindly. “I knew you were on my side all along.” Natalie smiled and let go. “I’m a good person. Of course I will support you. But... What are you going to do? I know you’re bad at fighting and you’re really merciful... How are you going to get out even remotely alive?” I just wagged my finger at her. “Remember, Natalie. We haven’t met for a long time. You have yet to see my true ability that I’ve developed.” She understood what I meant, and nodded. “Go,” I advised her. “I’ll take it from here.” The moment she went back into a portal, I unlocked the doors to the room. I didn’t want anyone to see that clip and I don’t want anyone to see her, in fear of her getting attacked. As soon I did so, Frisk bursted into the room. “What happened!?” She asked. “Did someone try to kill you!?” I breathed heavily, in and out. “Nathan? You alright?” I clenched my fists and walked towards the wall- And I gave a forceful punch right through it. Then, I turned to her. “It’s time.” Twilight and Asriel came over. Seeing my face, they knew something was up with me. “You... You are going to fight them...” Asriel said, “Aren’t you?” Twilight immediately insisted. “We’re coming with you!” I shook my head. “No. Don’t,” I told them. “This is my battle. I’ve been waiting for this moment for years. I want to release everything I have in me- All of my anger, all of my power, and all the magic inside me, against them.” They thought for a moment- And they agreed. “Okay... Please make it back safe...” Twilight begged as she walked close. I smiled. She cared for me so much. I hugged her in my arms. “I make that a promise,” I swore to her. “I’ll be back, one piece. Alright? If you really want to... Don’t hesitate to come save me, Okay? But I advise you don’t interfere with the matter- My battle, my victory.” “Deal,” They all said. I let go, and got out my best gear and weapons. It was my draconic Armor, coloured orange and black. I took out my best sword- The Excalibur, with a purple handle and a sharp, silvery blade. Frisk touched my shoulder. “Be safe, my friend. I, as a former captain of an army, will give you my best wishes. May the goddess of the light’s magic rest on you in today’s fight.” I gave her a big salute, and she did the same. ******** I tracked down where they were, and I went immediately. It was at a large park near my old school, and when I got there, I expected it- but it still scared me. 'Hold it right there!' I roared, taking out my sword. Constantly playing around with his dagger, Jason turned around. 'Hm, can't bear to see your parents die?' He jokingly asked. I was showing no fear. They used to scare me, attack me, humiliate my life... But I knew, I was prepared. There's no reason to hold back. I knew this was what I trained for. I knew this was destined to happen. I knew I have nothing to fear anymore. 'Let them go this instant!' I shouted. The voices of my parents were muffled by him. I couldn't hear them clearly, but I know they were crying to know I will watch them die, and let that haunt the rest of my life. Jason shrugged. 'You really think I'm that nice? Well, then you're just straight up wrong.' He snapped his fingers and called in Winston. 'I knew you'll come, Nathan,' He laughed. 'Our old schoolmates all did. And they all surrendered.' 'Not her,' I replied. Winston just sneered and shook his head no. 'Well, guess what?' He called in one of his men, and there she was- Natalie had her head pointed by the man's gun. 'Nathan! Don't do it! You'll get me killed!' She screamed, at least before her mouth was covered. But before I could say anything, she was already shot dead. I screamed in horror as the evidence to prove they were guilty was retrieved by the gang. 'I'll be generous; Here you go,' He tossed the phone to me. I was confused and put it away. Winston was still laughing as he called the others. 'There's no reason for me to have it anyway. You'll die anyway. And so there's no difference in whether I give you the proof or not.' He explained. 'Now, where was I? Ah, right.' He held my parents at gunpoint. 'NO!' I yelled. 'I DARE YOU TO DO THAT!' He just flashed an evil, cold, icy smile. 'What? It's your fault it has to come to this. If you never joined them, this won't happen! But since you decided to be with your "friends" and defeat our powerful country... We thought, "Hey, why not do our nation a favor and bring back the old days? Those days we harassed that little child... Ah, it felt so great." So you can't blame us for doing this.' 'Why, you little-' I let out an angry sigh. '(Laughs) Hey, hey. Chill, dude,' Winston laughed. 'CHILL!? YOU'RE TELLING ME TO CHILL, YOU MORON!?' I roared. 'I told you, if you hadn't joined your friends, why would we do this to you? And besides... It's not wrong. This is for your betrayal of our people.' He explained, putting the dagger in front of my mother's throat. I sighed and was speechless. 'Come on, you know you want to fight back,' He tempted me. 'Oh, you don't want to fight because your parents will die if you make a move? Then that's just something a coward would think of.' All the former bullies started to laugh. I was so furious, I teleported right in front of him and slapped him hard in the face. He fell. 'Hah, foolish fool.' He responded. I clashed my sword against his and surprisingly pushed him back. Winston wanted to attack again with Jason on both sides, I just jumped and made a shockwave that sent them flying back. 'Don't get cocky,' Jason reminded, flashing me an evil grin. I was immediately attacked by his backup men, and I was surrounded from all sides. As I was beginning to fall back, gunshots rained from above. 'Eat this, all of you maniacs!' Frisk yelled as she dropped down, opening fire in all directions with her rifle. 'Frisk! You're here!' I said, feeling relieved. She smiled at me. 'Ha! I am not gonna miss out from my friend's ultimate battle, why would I? It’s the pack that’s brave, my friend!” From around the corner, her brother Asriel came over after beating down two other men. 'Nobody hurts our friend!' He exclaimed, raining down his arrows. As I was starting to get excited, somepony swooped down from above and grabbed my hands, lifting me up. 'Twilight!' I said happily. '(chuckles) I know today is crucial to you. If it helps, I will help you with all my heart, Nathan. You're my friend, and if your desperate wish is to win this fight that you've been preparing for, then I'm in!' She replied. I swung up and got on her back. 'Thanks, Spark. Now, let us go down for a bit, shall we?' Twilight flew back down as the Dreemurs kept attacking. Yet, more men just come in one after another. I signaled them to come over as my friend landed. 'See? I'm not alone anymore,' I exclaimed. But Winston wasn't impressed at all. I knew he had a plan in mind. 'Heh, you think you guys are good?' He asked, secretly taking out his pistol. 'I dare you all to take one more step, or else...' He fired his gun into the air. All of us gasped. ‘Why do you have to do this?’ I asked. ‘Why, you ask?’ Elliot laughed coldly. ‘Because you are just a kid playing pretend… Do you really think, that your “friends” really care about you? Ha, they don’t. Don’t you realize how much of a loser you are? You are nothing but a (censored) at fighting. You can’t beat us, you know.’ Asriel was trying so hard to not move, but he was cross. ‘Hey! Watch your mouth, dude! We have a pacifist over here!’ ‘That’s right!’ Twilight followed. ‘You all are nothing but soulless humans who don’t understand the real Nathan! Through these years, he’s grown so much thanks to us, his true friends. We care about each other, just you guys do! Instead, you all wish to use this power against someone else, and that is just wrong!’ ‘(Disgusted groan) Say what you want, he is still a moron when it comes to criticism. Why do you think you guys will win? You all are just pretending to be these “legends” that will save your kind.’ Said Oscar. Frisk gasped. ‘If only I had not cared so much about my friend, I would take my stand and battle all of you on my own!’ Tommy, just laughed. ‘Go ahead then! You don’t need him on your side.’ ‘Why, I am going to get you so bad…’ Frisk is getting really mad, at least until I stopped her. ‘Enough, Frisk.’ I whispered, then turning to the gang. ‘So… What do you say, you worthless trash?’ Jason can’t help but joke around. My Father was not happy. ‘Son, don’t listen to them!’ ‘But… I can’t lose you both!’ I cried. ‘They will only make your life more miserable as it is, don’t- ‘My mother had her mouth shut with the dagger just a few fingers away from her soul. ‘Why are you still resisting? We won’t bother you on social media anymore… And your family will be safe and sound if you make this rightful choice…’ Elliot encouraged the legend. At the back, the three friends were getting nervous in my response. All of a sudden, as my tears seemed to dry, and my expression changed, I crossed my arms in anger. ‘I refuse!’ I yelled as I drew my sword. Winston gasped. ‘Suit yourself, then!’ He then shot my parents multiple times, leaving them dead as their screams flooded everyone’s ears. The three were silent. My parents’ bodies dropped to the floor with a thud, an they were gone- Just like that, in a matter of seconds. I dropped my Excalibur, and my knees fell to the floor. I screamed in terror, and ran to them, shook them, but nothing happened. I draped myself over them, hugging their dead selves and cried. ‘I’m sorry… They forced me to…’ I stuttered. Asriel, Frisk, and Twilight all gasped as I cried. Then, it kindled the flame in their powerful souls. ‘You hurt him!’ Frisk shouted. I certainly did,’ Winston replied. ‘What? You think you can bring them back? Think again.’ ‘We’re not going to go easy on you all!’ Asriel roared. Twilight only sighed. ‘I never wanted to do this, but your idea of peace leaves us no choice but to do it!’ But the bullies don’t seem to care, as they are too busy teasing the poor classmate they used to bully. ‘You’re such a loser!’ ‘Pathetic, he won’t try to fight back!’ ‘He is sooooooooo stupid!’ ‘Not only he’s ugly, he’s stupid and weak!' Frisk was not believing in any of it. ‘That’s never true! Nathan has been trained personally by me, Frisk Dreemur, one of the greatest heroines of my country, and I see a future that you guys will only destroy! ‘Come on, show me then!’ Tommy teased her. Asriel was mad too. ‘You’re going to challenge one of the greatest fighters ever!? You’re insane! We will make you surrender in no time!’ Winston felt the need to tease them very badly. ‘Ha! What are you going to do? You guys are nothing! I can’t believe that he actually believed your world existed, ponies are just for little kids, not adults like us! And besides, do you really think you can win? I bet you’re all just pathetic, weak, and not to mention, absolutely dumb to face us!’ All three of them gasped at the same time. ‘You take that back!’ I was shocked. I had the biggest gasp in years. I was devastated at the words they had to bear. I knew, in my flaming heart, that they had taken it way too far. I immediately turned my head up, but it went back down as I went deep into thought. “Wait,” Jacky said. “G-Guys? Why do I feel something bad about this?” Someone else from their group also said the same thing. “H-Hey, I came here for the money, not to die, bro.” Winston blinked, and was shocked. “Wh-What!? Pfft, no! Don’t you see? Look at him! Ha! That’s the face of a loser!” Tommy tapped him. “Winston, this isn’t a time for jokes. I seriously think there’s something wrong.” The three behind me had their guns and weapons lock and loaded, breathing heavily as they know, if they pull their triggers, the enemy would retaliate. “Don’t make us do this,” Frisk warned. “I am once the captain of the human army. Unless you really want to get into trouble... I can give it to you. Asriel nodded. “You would really not like what you are going to experience.” Jason wanted to stop him, since he was worried, but Winston didn’t listen. “Yeah! Yeah come on!” Winston teased, taking out his gun and pointing it at my head. Twilight gasped. “No! Not him! Please!” The Dreemurs have their hands on the trigger of their guns. “YEAH COME ON!” Winston roared. “Do it, and off with his head!” The three had their hands trembling. They didn’t want me to die, but they wanted to protect me from their harassment. They’ve taken it too far beyond what is necessary. “Please, leader,” Jason warned. “We don’t want to-“ “Hush!” He said, changing his gun to face him. “Shut Up! We’re so close to killing him!” Twilight had enough- She didn’t want me to die. Feeling really daring, she teleported in front of Winston and put her sword in front of his neck. “Don’t. You. Dare!” She yelled. I gasped. “Twilight, no!” SLAP My broken heart sank, as Princess Twilight was slapped and flew over me, crashing right before the Dreemurs. I saw it- As soon she finished, Winston charged up a devastating slap. So forceful- It made her bleed. Not to mention- The fall she had and her rolling on the floor by the force hit her face hard. She coughed from the dust. “Twilight!” Frisk cried. When Winston started laughing, everyone wasn’t very satisfied. Not even the people on his side. “How bittersweet this is, Nathan,” He said sarcastically. No one- And I mean no one, dared to make a sound. Until... I turned around. “*loud cry* Why would you do that!?” Twilight cried. “*sob* That... *cries* That...” She looked at her bruises, and Frisk was burning with fire as she cried too. Twilight bursted into tears from the pain. I was devastated. When I saw his team, everyone was shocked and scared. They knew he had truly, done something disrespectful this time. CRASH My fists crashed to the ground. I could feel it- Magic was already starting to build up. It got stronger, and stronger. I knew why. The tears I’m crying at that moment- Weren't because my parents died anymore. They were the tears of witnessing someone, whom they dearly loved, getting abused and attacked. I started to scratch my head. The magic I developed was really powerful. I looked at Twilight. “*groans* They... They can’t...” She stuttered since she was still in pain. “You must...” Seeing her bruises... My heart shattered into a million pieces. She was my Spark- Literally. No one has the right to hurt a princess- Let alone her. After I turned back, getting more and more dizzy, I finally gave in. “*breathing* No... No... GAAAAAAAAAH!” With a gust of wind, I unleashed rings of fire around the area and flew up, with ruby red eyes. ‘You all can mess with me all you want. Call me names, beat me up, anything. I don’t care if you murder my parents. I don’t care about anything about all of you, anymore.’ I said, charging something in my body. In a flash, the gang’s laughing faces turned into faces of horror. ‘However, I will not… I will not accept your humiliation any longer…’ As I rose above the ground, the three legends gasped in surprise. Frisk was very proud to see the once powerless boy turn into the person she knew he will become one day. ‘Winston… I think we should go…’ Jason stuttered. As they wanted to leave, the flames I made grew stronger. They turned, and to see me looking deep into their cold souls. My body was acting weird- Something I’ve never felt before. I was seemingly glitching. All of a sudden, my voice changed. ‘You all… do NOT, MESS WITH MY FRIENDS!!’ I roared, starting my transformation. A deafening light shone over everyone. I started to transform into my true form; The legend I was all along. I was wearing what seemed like emerald armor, with even powerful demonic blades, and I even had my own green-colored wings to make me soar. ‘Nathan, you…’ Twilight stuttered. I turned and winked at her. ‘I know… This form is hard to imagine… But, just trust me.’ I explained. Turning to the gang, who were scared but remained calm, I closed my eyes. I knew that all the pain… All the tears… And everything I suffered… It will all be completely forgotten and paid back to the rightful owners after this fight. I took a deep breath. Both sides were ready to fight. With our weapons at hand, we were only waiting for the flame to ignite. ‘My friends…’ I began. They all nodded. ‘Let’s end this, once and for all!’ This fight was a challenging match for us four. We did not expect the bullies had the powers I had as well. We were winning against the weaker ones, but we weren’t able to stand the blazing bullets from the machine guns that the gang somehow brought over. The first three legends fell quickly from the attacks by the leader. As notorious as he is, he’s not feeling and guilt for doing it. Soon, I was getting knocked down too, while the others pushed the three down hard. ‘You think you’re so strong huh, idiot!?’ He ‘one punched’ me in the face and punched me hard in the bottom of a statue, and a saw blade was jaw-droppingly close to cutting my head off. I was bruised and had a lot of cuts. ‘(Grunts) I can’t… Ahh!’ I collapsed, almost dying. At the same time, the Dreemurs stood strong but were just short. ‘Get out of our faces!’ Jason yelled, throwing Asriel into a tree, and throwing Frisk straight into her brother. ‘As much as I want to talk my way out of this, it seems impossible…’ Frisk thought, then feeling shoving coming from below her. ‘Ugh… Frisk! Get off me!’ He cried. On another side, Elliot just kicked Twilight straight to the ground, leaving her dizzy. ‘I may be short, but that does not prevent me from beating all of you!’ he shouted, trying to use rocket launchers to break through the shield Twilight was protecting herself with. Looking at every one of my companions like that, I knew this isn’t over yet. Voices ringed in my head. ‘I wouldn't always be there to save you. You must believe in yourself, I know you can beat them!' Frisk told me. ‘You are stronger than you know. Don’t give in!’ Asriel encouraged. Suddenly, I thought of Twilight. ‘Trust in the greatest magic of all, and let it guide your way. You can do it, don’t let anyone like them trump you down!’ 'No... It can't end just like this... I will not... I refuse to die...' I kept chanting to myself. Just then, a glimpse of hope came: The humans and ponies I made friends with came to the rescue! All flying over with magic and all that, they have came to aid the four of us. 'If anyone dares to hurt our friend, then they'll have to get past us first!' Rainbow yelled at the evil gang. Mark was fighting fiercely. 'You tell them, Dash! We shall help him take back the past he deserved!' With the other three free from the attacks, I regained my confidence as Winston walked over. 'Any last words?' He asked. I felt the punch coming. As soon as it came, I was ready to block it with all my might. 'You harmed my life... Now I will end yours!!!' With magic, I pushed him back far that left him in pain. “Wh-What!?” I roared with all my might. “You hurt my best friend... I’LL MURDER YOU FOR THAT!” I transformed once more as my fist crashed to the ground. Another deafening light later, and I was a killing machine. The jet black power suit, crimson coloured wings, and the bloody ruby eyes made me more menacing than ever. Winston started backing up. “No, no, no, no, please! Please! Please!” He begged, crawling backwards. I shot a lightning bolt into the air that attracted everyone’s attention. A weapon dropped, and my hand’s magic pulled it towards me. Once more, I started to glitch. “Come to me, my power staff!” I said it in such a devilish voice that everybody couldn’t believe it was me at all. I kept walking towards him with my staff of power, made of draconic tools. “Remind me, punk,” I teased, waving my staff at him. “What did you say about killing me a moment ago?” He tried to shoot me with a gun, but as I closed my eyes, a border protected me because of my Armor. “As I thought,” I said, smiling coldly as I continued to wreck everything he used to block me. “You wanted to harm me, year after year, and I suffered tremendous pain. Now, allow me... To give it all back to you.” I stomped on the ground, making him jump up, and slammed the head of the pickaxe to his body. He tried to retort a few times, but I destroyed all of his weapons. I slashed him multiple times with my staff- And my limbs grew stronger than ever. I could punch him through walls. At one point, I pulled him towards me, and I slammed my staff right on top of him. Several times. For all he’s done, all I wanted was to beat him to shreds, under my own hands. Whether it’s magic attacks or not, I may be the only going up against him, but he didn’t stand a chance. I wouldn’t give him a chance to kill me. I threw him back hard to the ground from the air, and crashed down back to the ground. 'You hurt my friends!!' I roared. Winston, bruised and hurt from head to toe, was still laughing with that evil smile. 'I did... And when I defeat you, I'll do it again.' He said. 'No one will want to be your friend any-' I threw the hardest punch I could give, knocking him flying back. He crashed right through a couple trees and landed back on his feet. 'YOU WILL NEVER HARM THEM AGAIN!' I said, glitching more than ever. 'And just what are you going to do to stop me?' He asked, walking back to me as he covered his wounds, not admitting his defeat, surprisingly. Jason and Tommy started to pull him back. 'Leader, stop it!' Tommy warned. 'You're gonna get yourself killed!' He threw the two aside. 'Finish me then! If you can, at least!' He started to laugh. I couldn't believe what he just did. How he responded to his companions was so not cool. They're his friends, and yet he responds to them like that? “No,” I said. “Not all of you.” Winston laughed. 'Hmph, coward.’ 'If that's how you treat your friends...' I warned him, glowing green. 'Then how do you think I would feel if you treated me like that? You all damaged my feelings. You crushed my dreams. You broke my soul.' I pulled him over with magic. He was struggling to get loose. 'I will show you, what TRUE suffering is!' I screamed. A second later, I was performing a spell I have never done before. I was sucking away the magic abilities that fueled the bullies. Almost every ounce was getting taken away. 'What... What is this... This sorcery!?' Elliot yelled. As I was taking their magic, my friends just stood there, having no idea of what to do. All of a sudden, Winston regained conciousness from my spell. 'I'm not done yet!' He proclaimed, taking all the magic I was getting for himself. Immediately, I was surrounded by all my friends, who are protecting me with all their heart. A shining aura appeared in front of me. 'Listen, I am giving all of you a last chance. Let's not turn this into a bloody war, shall we?' I asked. 'So... If you guys promise not to harm me anymore, then you better leave my sight this instant. And never come back, either.' Some of the weaker ones who were surprisingly still alive were ready to flee. Some others were ready too. 'I'm letting you guys go if you can promise me not to harm me wherever you idiots are.' I said. 'But if you step forward... You are really not going to like what happens next.' Winston stood his ground. Tommy, however, was not. 'Retreat!' He commanded. Since it was not the leader giving them the commands, the gang didn’t know what to do- Should they go? Should they stay? I could tell they can’t choose. Winston looked back at Tommy with a growl. “What. Did you. Just. Say!?” He roared. Tommy slapped his face with his palm open. I gasped- These two were really friendly at school. And he just slapped him? I literally covered my mouth, softly giggling. But of course he heard it. Of course. “What are you laughing at, fool!?” He tried to shut my mouth up with fireballs, but miraculously, it was blocked- Not by my friends, but by Jason, the co-leader! I was shocked! “You are so, so selfish, leader,” Jason said, punching him in the face. “I can’t believe how blind I was. You said you only wanted to kill Nathan. But you even dared to hurt royalty. If they won’t sentence you to death, our enemies today will.” He left in a fit of anger. Tommy followed. “Oscar?” Winston groaned. “Don’t tell me you-“ “No,” He responded. “I would very much want to do it, I do. But you said we would do this mission as a team... Turns out you wanted to kill him yourself and take all the credit.” Then he slapped him in the face. “Come on boys,” He said. “We’re leaving this jerk alone. Let’s do this another day.” Winston gasped and growled. “A J-JERK!? Why, you-“ One of his men fired a plasma gun at him, causing him to become temporarily blind. “Enjoy your death,” Jacky said. “He’s right. You’re the moron.” And they're gone. I smiled coldly. “Looks like the tables have turned,” I teased, tilting my head. “Now who’s the idiot?” He turned to me in disbelief- How could someone so pathetic in the past be this powerful? It was impossible for him to imagine. He wanted to back up, but he didn’t show fear. “Comrades,” I commanded. Everyone bust out their battle mode, charged themselves to max strength, and with our weapons at ready, we had only one target. And by the end of today, this target will be destroyed. 'Fine! If a fight's what you want, then it's a fight you'll get!' Winston roared, dashing over with all his might. I performed a shockwave spell, causing him to fall back. The chain of attacks from the humans and the mane six caused him to become even weaker. After a beating by Frisk, he got launched straight up. 'I'll finish this!' I said. I flew up immediately, with my blades at the ready. Now that he’s so weak, I went with my ultimate, final blow, in my ultimate, demon form. I grabbed him by the neck in mid-air. “Pop quiz. How many times have you insulted me?” He snickered with a weak voice since he was almost dead. “Too many to count... Hahaha...” I smiled coldly. “These 500 slashes,” I told him, cruelly. “Represent the amount of insults you’ve made to me in the past. Multiplied.” And so, I started to give him the beating of a lifetime. My blades slashed him here and there. I even went to the extent of using magic blades to help me do it faster. All my allies could only stand and watch as I made my blows upon this cursed soul. When I got him super high, I called my friends to get ready for the big laser blaster. He came crashing down, and when I grabbed him, I slapped and punched him while controlling him in mid-air. I looked at him directly with my bloody eyes. “You messed with my friends, and this is what you get.” I threw him and made him crash to the ground, before finishing him off with a huge magic beam. My friends all fell back down, beaming with pride. As I slowly fluttered back to the ground, I was down on my feet. I was crying- By they were joyful tears. I knew for once, I have won. 'I did it... I did it! I finally did it!' I cried in utter joy. All of my friends, both humans and ponies, cheered for my victory. They were chanting out my name loudly and cheering. I truly felt I have took vengeance. But, as I stood up, my smile faded. I knew I had to make this choice eventually. I walked over to them. Frisk came to me and rested her hand on my shoulder, grinning. 'I am proud of you, my friend,' She said with determination. 'You have really shown your true strength today.' 'The fact I finally beat them?' I asked. Asriel shook his head and laughed. 'Haha, not just that, pal! A true legend does not only seek vengeance and victory. They ought to understand the act of mercy as well. And you proved you have both ideas in your heart.' They both pulled me into their arms. I felt so shy, considering the question I am going to ask won't be that great. 'That's... That's really kind of you, Dreemurs,' I said, letting go. 'But...' They were confused. 'But what?' Starlight asked me. 'As you said, the magic of friendship helped you win!' I was feeling shy. I didn't want to ask it. But... I thought that this was the one thing I wanted the power of friendship for at the time. And now it's complete... I didn't think I needed them anymore. I sighed as I walked to Twilight. 'Spark... I have to go now,' I explained. 'Why so?' I knew I had to tell everything. 'As you know, the reason why I was so glad to be a friend of all of you was because of all of this happening. I desperately wanted someone out there to care for me. Someone like you all. I wanted to turn to someone that could give me my glimmer of hope back for this world. I wanted someone to guide me back on track. Someone to help me win today's battle,' I explained. They were still a bit confused, so I went further. 'But now... I see that the only reason I made friends with you all is finally put to bed. And, I don't think I truly learnt what mercy is. I hurt people, even though that's what I wanted to do before. I know you all are merciful people and someone like me is just not fit for you all.' I said. 'But Nathan...' Stacy replied. 'You are a part of us! Our family!' I flashed a smile. 'It has been so great to make friends with you. You all changed my view of life in different ways I never imagined. But, now that my mission is done, I see it's time for me to face the future alone. So... it's best if you all just don't bother me, okay? I'm sorry it had to come down to this. I'm just doing what I think it's best for me.' I started to walk away, slowly. Behind me, I can hear the sighing and moody voices of my other friends. 'Well, y'all ready to head back?' Applejack asked. Even Pinkie wasn't alright. 'Yeah, I guess so. Anypony else?' They all nodded. Starlight casted a spell that let them fly back over to the nearest base to go back to Equestria. Yet, my three best friends just stood behind, motionless. 'What are we going to do?' Asriel asked. Frisk shook her head. 'I have no idea. But... If he thinks it's okay, then I'll respect his choice.' However, Twilight just wanted to follow me. 'Hey, wait up,' She said. I stopped and turned. 'I'm sorry, Twi. I know you didn't want me to kill anyone. I just wanted to protect you. I can't be dependent forever, now can I? I know you want to help me, but I-' Before I can finish, Twilight's wings were already around me. I blushed a little. 'Don't ever say that to me again, Nate...' She said. 'Without us, you'll be alone forever. Your parents have been taken away. I know there won't be anypony else that can care for you as much as we do. I don't want you to live in a lonely and hopeless world without anyone.’ I started to get teary-eyed. I wrapped my arms around my best friend. 'Haha, come on, Twilly...' I cried. '(Sniff) You're gonna make me cry again...' She covered my mouth, and giggled. 'I know you have your reasons on why you want to leave. However... I promise you, you’ll be much happier with us by your side. As we’ve always been.” Hearing that, I finally broke down. I just held my dear princess tighter. '(Cries) I don't want to let go of you...' I kissed Twilight on her little cheek, and smiled. She blushed and smiled too. '(Laughs) So you'll stay?' I nodded. 'Of course, my little sparkle.' In the background, the Dreemurs were giggling. 'Awwww!! That's adorable!!' Frisk squeaked. Asriel was chuckling too. 'Look at how cute you both are together...' Both of us let go, wiping our tears. 'So... Twilight?' 'Yes, Nathan?' 'Promise me we won't bring this fight up again?' She nodded. 'We'll keep it between us as much as possible. Now, let's go, shall we?' I nodded to her. “Y-Yeah. We should. I... I think I know where I belong.” I kneeled down to pet her, brushing her mane with a hand. “*giggles* I’m okay, Nathan. Don’t be so worried,” She said. “Worry about yourself, first.” I rolled my eyes. “I just wanted you to be alright. I don’t want anyone to hurt you.” She nodded and nuzzled my cheek with hers. Then she turned back to walk to the Dreemurs. I was really shy, and I spawned a rose in my hand. '(Giggles) She's my angel...' I said to myself. 'Wait, the war's not done yet. I'll confess later. After all, we're winning anyway. I'll have all the time to tell her.' I walked back after that. 'Well, ready to fly back?' I asked. At the same time, Flurry Heart and Princess Cadance came through a portal. 'There you are!' Flurry said, relieved. 'We were worried when we saw you didn't come back!' 'What happened to you, Nathan? You look really hurt...' Cadance was worried. I looked at myself. I had bruises, I had cuts, blood stains all over my face... I looked so awful. Suddenly, I felt a shot of pain in my head. 'Huh? What's wrong?' Asriel asked. My head was burning like crazy. I knew why. '(Screams) Dark magic... Argh! I must've taken too much of their magic away!' I screamed. A minute later, I passed out. Everyone gasped. 'No! Not now!' Frisk was worried. Cadance kept the portal open so I could easily get back to Equestria. 'Twilight, we'll catch up later, you must return him to Equestria and give him care and rest this instant!' Twilight nodded and carried me on her back. 'I'm on it, be safe, alright?' She responded. They all nodded, and she carried me through the portal as fast as possible. Author's Note AHHHHH WHY ARE MY CHAPTERS SO LOOOOOONG😂😂😂 SO INCONSISTENT LOLOLOL:rainbowlaugh: https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/rainbowlaugh.png I seriously did not expect this chapter to be this long. In fact, when I was creating the first version of this chapter, the chapter that actually sparked the idea of me creating this story in the first place, it was actually only 4069 words I think. And that includes a bit of rewriting for the original chapter 7 in Rise of Equestria, so the new part is probably only 3400 to 3500 words. Seriously! I did not expect to write a 6000 word chapter! That is, what, a quarter of the total words in Golden soul in one chapter??? EDIT ON 26th May 2018: Welp, make that 7000 now. //-------------------------------------------------------// End of the trauma //-------------------------------------------------------// End of the trauma ‘Nathan… Hey, are you alright?’ Twilight asked. After the fight with my former schoolmates, I ended up passing out and was in recovery for the whole night. A few days later, Twilight woke me from my sleep. ‘(groans) Huh?’ I woke up, feeling extremely exhausted. ‘Twilight…?’ She smiled. ‘Thank Celestia you’re awake! We were so worried about you when you passed out!’ I woke up, scratching my eye. Then, Flurry came in. ‘Feeling any better, Nathan?’ She asked, walking to me. ‘Thanks for all your hospitality. I can’t thank you enough.’ I replied. ‘Yes, I do feel a bit better, but I still feel a bit tired and these scars and bruises still hurt a lot.’ ‘Physically or emotionally?’ asked Frisk, who was standing at the corner of the room. I laughed. ‘Frisk! Stop reminding me about my past!’ Flurry turned to me. ‘With our healing magic, you will be cured in no time. Some of us have been working hard to take turns healing you, to thank you for your efforts and loyalty to your friends, and the ponykind.’ ‘(laughs) Pretty overdo, but okay. Thank you all. You’ve changed my life like never before.’ ‘Speaking of which, how did all of this happen actually?’ she asked curiously. I sighed. ‘It’s a long story. When I was still a teenager, I was a victim of severe bullying and I was forced to listen to my classmate’s harassments. After I met your aunt through social media and then in real life, things changed for the better. She introduced me to her new friends that I never thought I would get close to. Not to mention, Frisk helped me train for this fight. It’s been a blast for me to be trained by such a great person.’ Twilight punched me playfully. ‘Come on, just get to it.’ ‘For a while, I have found that their group has been going around my hometown gaining supporters to form a terrorist group in the future. I'm not sure about this, but I think that they were going to start by killing me, then extend their mission across the city, then take on the world in the midst of this war. I wanted to put a stop to them. Then, my former schoolmate told me about their plan to murder my parents. I had to fight back and take my long-awaited vengeance.' I continued. ‘You must’ve gone through a lot,’ Flurry said. He nodded. ‘It’s true. I’m so happy to have you all care for me.’ Frisk comforted her friend. ‘Wow, that’s the first time I’ve heard you say how much we helped you… You’re joking, right? We didn’t do much. We are dubbed the Legends of Harmony, the descendants that, only ones who have such great kindness, mercy, love, and knowledge of peace, will be worthy of having the title, given from the goddess of the light herself. We will care for anyone who wishes to be a good person, someone who truly believes that the world can be peaceful.’ I chuckled a bit. ‘No, I mean it, Frisk. I never would’ve thought I’ll be here today with you all. Seriously, you changed my thoughts about the world. I always knew someone out there… Someone within the midst of people who hate each other, and despise one another, is someone that believed the world can be a better place. I have believed in it for three years since the trauma hit me. Finally, I was right.’ Everyone looked at each other, smiling happily. ‘I can’t thank you all enough. Now, I can finally forget about my terrible past and lay it to rest, thanks to your support for me.’ I started to cry a bit. In the midst of the touching moment, Frisk realized she had no time to waste if she wanted to win this war. ‘Sorry to cut this short. I have some armies to support. They need me out there.’ She was all set up and ready to go. Flurry looked at her aunt. ‘So, auntie, are you coming with us?’ ‘Sorry, it’s my turn today to heal him. I’ll probably come the next time we have a chance.’ Twilight replied. After they left, I remained calm as my friend healed me with her alicorn magic. Her horn was beautifully lit, and I laid on my bed patiently as she casted the spells. “Don’t worry,” She assured me. “This won’t be painful.” One of my scars on my arms were fading. That enabled me to activate my powers with my arm- So I spawned in a magic healing potion- The chug jug, to completely heal myself. As soon I drunk the potion, I felt a soothing sense of all my scars and bruises going away. Twilight helped too to magnify the effect, and speed up the process. “Thanks, Twilight,” I said. “For being with me all this time.” She nodded. “No problem, I’ve always liked you as a friend.” I just chuckled and let her sit up on the bed, right next to me. It was a relatively big double bed so I didn’t mind. She grabbed my hand to get up. When she got herself comfy, I was silently thinking about my love for her as a friend- A feeling I’ve had for a long time. “I never thanked you for your kindness when we first met,” Twilight just realized. I shrugged. “I didn’t really thank you either. I did later on, but that was the key.” We turned to each other. “I’m sorry,” I said. “Why?” “I can’t believe I wanted to leave you guys,” I confessed. “Feels kinda stupid now, to be honest.” She laughed. “Well, I just hoped you would stay. More friends are definitely merrier,” Twilight said. “Just like how I said it to Tempest. Although being independent is cool... You’re doing it already. You’ve changed a lot. It’s good that you know to accept your fate and move on. That’s the process of growing up- Even I go through it. There are some things you can’t prevent. But what you can change, is how you look at it.” I smiled- Those were really wise words she said to me. “You’ve been through a lot in your life. It’s been rough, I understand. But time won’t wait for you- If you want things to change, you have to act. So you did- And you won, right?” Twilight asked. I nodded, but with a slight frown. “I guess... But I still lost my parents... *sniff* I’m surely going to really, really miss them.” I gazed out of the window as I thought about my parents. When I closed my eyes, the horrifying scene popped into my mind again. The moment when I refused to betray my friends... At the cost of losing the ones who have loved me for my whole life. Every word I heard- Every bullet piercing through their skulls, and my scream of despair. Most importantly- It also reminded me of the moment Twilight got hurt. I opened my eyes and gasped, like I woke up from a nightmare. I was scared and was hyperventilating, until Twilight wrapped her wings around me. “Are you alright?” She comforted, nuzzling my back. “*sigh* Yeah, I’m fine. I’ll need some time to forget about what happened.” I said. “About your words... I want to stay, I really do. But... What about my actions then?” “Huh?” Twilight asked. “Wh-What do you mean?” I sighed as I put my arm around my pony friend. “I’ll come clean about it, since we’ve argued about it once,” I sighed. “You’re right. I was wrong. I just wanted you to accompany me, love me and help me whenever I needed someone. Now I think about it... When have I ever repaid your kindness? No, never. I even betrayed you guys by starting a war and it’s not even finished yet. Twilight... I was really blinded when I was younger. I just wanted Everypony- Especially you, to support me and be there for me. I only wanted to be friends, because you guys gave me the confidence to do anything. So when the king gave me the chance to get the power I need for taking my own revenge... *sigh* You know the rest.” Twilight covered her frown as her feelings plunged into depression. “Twilight Sparkle,” I said, sighing. “I did something really wrong. I lied to you, my best bud. I would never try to do that. But seeing how my greed for my own goals and plans affected our friendship... It’s a guilt that, even if I did win like now, could never be shaken away. And it’s the worst feeling I’ve had in my life.” “Nathan...” She said as we looked at each other in the eye. I smiled. “If you’re still mad at me, I understand. You wouldn’t want to be with- Oh!” I stopped with a gasp, because she pulled me tightly with her hooves and wings and started crying. I didn’t want to see her cry because of me. I tried to comfort her to let her say her feelings. “Don’t you ever say that again, Nathan!” She cried. I went silent, and just mirrored her action gingerly. “Wh-Why... Even after what I tried to do to you... Why are you all being so nice to me? *giggles* I don’t deserve this, come on...” I jokingly said. “I know I wanted this, but...” “You do!” Twilight cried again. We continued to tighten our embrace. I didn’t want to let go, and Twilight didn’t either. So, we silently cried and were stuck together like magnets- Bonded together by our beautiful friendship. As the cuddling went on for a good minute or two- I eventually started to relax. The familiar comfort of her wings was pouring into my heart. I sat there- With my body pressed against Twilight’s soft, purple fur. “Nothing, and I really mean it,” Twilight told me. “Nothing can tear us apart again. Not this time. You were such a special human. When we met face-to-face, I immediately knew you were going to be a great friend to hang out with. Even though you didn’t mean it, that doesn’t matter. What you gave me through this journey, is memories. Our memories. Don’t you remember, whenever we used to hang out together?” “Y-Yes...” Twilight smiled and placed a forehead kiss. “I know your favorite moments. You liked to game and bicker with me whenever I made us lose. You loved to be cheesy whenever you were around me. Whenever we didn’t have anything to do, you’d be around to have sleepovers with me. All of these little things... I loved every one. It was both amusing and bittersweet. What I’m saying, is that even if you were a fraud... Along the way, you still gave me the same things a true friend would’ve given me. You were no expert at friendship, but you managed to give me the confidence to doing everything too. I am the exact opposite.” I nodded. “We really do compliment each other well, right?” “Indeed.” We blushed heavily for the next minute, before we both said, “Can I ask something?” I insisted. “Sorry, you go.” She nodded. “Thanks. If... If I wasn’t so attached to Frisk... Would you be my human best friend, Nate?” I blushed- This was the first time anyone really called me a real best friend- I didn’t really expect we really were besties. But all along, I really can’t hoped she would say that to me. I hugged her, rocking side-to-side. “Thank you,” I told her, “Best Friends Forever, Twilight?” She nodded with no hesitation. “Best friends.” We both smiled and let our cheeks rub against each other as we cuddled. It was definitely very soothing. I relaxed into the hug a bit more, brushing her mane and holding her head. She squeezed me tighter into her hooves and closed her eyes. So, I did the same thing, smiling widely. Just then, Twilight gave my cheek a playful lick, like a loyal dog with their owner. I was stunned by this, but all I did was take the harmless joke and our foreheads pressed together, both of us holding each other’s heads and holding hands. I wanted to kiss her then- But I was too nervous. And that made way for her to find an excuse to leave the embrace. “Oh! Look at the time,” She said. “I should probably go to actually do some war things now. Get some rest, okay?” I sighed, but still remained a grin on my lips. “Alright, then. Travel safe, and good luck.” She packed her things, and was going to leave. I opened my eyes before I was going to sleep. “Twilight?” “Yes, Nathan?” From the bed, I blew a kiss to her. She made a cute squeak. “I love you, Twi!” She giggled. “Awww, thank you!” Twilight galloped over, and something I never thought possible, has happened- She leaned her face close as I was drifting away, but a tiny impact stopped me from falling asleep. She kissed me. When she leaned over, she smiled and closed her eyes. Her lips landed softly on my right cheek, and she held the kiss for around 5 seconds before she released it. At that point, my face was blazing red, so red I almost fainted. I turned over so I wouldn’t get distracted. The princess laughed and levitated the covers of my bed with care, and kissed me goodbye. “Checking...” I touched my cheek. “Yup. *blissful sigh* Best day ever.” And so, the trauma that haunted me finally ended after so many years! With my victory, I finally found my destiny. That fight was something I won't ever forget. It kindled my flaming passion. Apparently, I have had this gigantic 'fuel' stored away in my soul for so long, yet I never found out. But winning against my biggest fear finally sparked it off. And I knew, what I was meant to be. For all my life, I would've never imagined my interest would change my life forever. I have always loved my little pony. But, I never thought it was real, let alone allowing it to change my entire life. All along, I was a legend. All along, I was a savior of many. All along, I was a protector of the ponykind. All along... I was a defender of harmony; The legend of kindness. I knew I was destined to protect my friends and their fellow friends as well. My job was to help my friendly neighbouring tribe prosper. I realized: My friends needed me. They need me to keep them safe. I found a passion: Fighting for peace and harmony. There will always be harmful things in this world. But, that's what makes life so great. I always have something to test myself. That is why they need us, legends of harmony to fight off the darkness. Because of this, I returned to ponykind. Although I am a human, ponydom is where my friends belong and stand for. If they need help, I'll be the first to insist. It's my home. My family. A place where I feel I belong. And at the end of the day, we were at last victorious. I couldn't be any happier. I knew my friends have been suffering from this war for quite a few years. And, I'm so glad to know after a long five-year battle back and forth, we finally got out of the king's grasp. It's not really a flawless victory, though. Equestria suffered huge losses from the war. So did the humans. Worst of all, you ask? My mentor Frisk actually sacrificed herself. In the final battle, she tragically died to save us from a dark magic explosion. Twilight's heart was shattered. I felt so sorry for her and her friends. Even so, we looked on the bright side of things. During the war, the human race had to work together in command of the king. Funny enough, this war kinda improved their cooperation. Tensions between countries dropped and they started to get along well. In addition, with the ponies' victory in the Pony War, massive compensations were flooding into their world. Even more, the humans agreed to insist their companions on rebuilding. In return, Celestia also agreed that the ponies will help them recover anything that could be saved. Although the humans caused Equestria giant losses, the ponies' request on the terms of the treaties were not as harsh as the humans thought it was going to be. At least not as harsh as the world war, but it was still a bit harsh to some countries. One day, I was called by Celestia and Luna to meet them at Canterlot Palace. 'Your Highnesses, I got your message,' I said, bowing. 'Is there a problem?' Celestia shook her head and teleported what looks like a giant treasure chest in front of me. I looked inside, and was stunned- So much gold and jewels! 'You've earned it, our wonderful ally,' She explained, beaming. I couldn't utter anything out of my mouth. Luna was giggling a bit. 'We know you've gone through much in this war. You may have betrayed us at first, but your redemption gave us the edge and prevented us from possible eradication. You know our beautiful nation has prospered for thousands of years. It will hurt to see our land erased from history.' I looked at them, a tear in my eye. 'Just how can we be mad about you for what you once did?' Celestia asked. 'We wish to thank you for everything you've done to support us. Thanks to your support, your contribution and your passion for defending our subjects, you've redeemed yourself and helped us win this horrifying war. If there's a wish you seek, we would be more than glad to help you make it come true, if possible.' The two gave a short bow. But to their surprise, I just closed the chest. 'This is a truly wonderful gift,' I began. 'However, I didn't do this for the reward. I want to help because I recognize you all need someone to defend your kingdom. Doing something for the reward it's like you're paid to do it. But for me... I hope to insist before you all ask. I'm not doing this for money, for pride, nor for the respect. I just wanted to protect everypony. Nothing more.' The two princesses stared at each other. 'A wise choice,' Luna commented. Celestia nodded. 'Indeed a good choice, Nathan. Very well.' Suddenly, I thought of something. 'Actually... I do have something that I want to do...' I said, grinning and rubbing my chin. 'I wonder if you both can help break the news?' I whispered to Celestia about my wish. She thought for a second. 'Maybe we could do that,' She replied. 'You said you got proof, correct? We'll report about it once we get it.' Back in the base of the Black Hand, the remaining ones are discussing their next move. 'Darn! I can't believe we lost our leader in that fight!' Tommy roared. One of their men (Not the main group) nodded. 'It was a cowardly action for us to run just like that.' Elliot calmed everyone down. 'Hey, it's fine! We'll just assasinate him again! I, for one, will not stop until he gets the punishment he deserves for making our country join the more... Inferior side of the war.' 'Our problem last time was that our attack was too direct and obvious. We must do it secretly this time.' Oscar reminded. 'Right,' Jason continued, unfolding the map. 'So, Nathan, our target will be coming back here soon with the princesses to discuss peace. I figured out their route. Okay, so this is what we're gonna-' He was cut off when gunshots flooded the room, then several men with guns in hand came rushing in. 'Freeze! All of you! Drop your weapons and put your hands up this instant!' One said. It was the police! Tommy was shocked. 'What!? How did you know!?' As the men were handcuffing the whole terrorist gang, I stepped in with a laugh. Everyone gasped furiously. '(Laughing) You all got cocky, didn't you?' I asked jokingly, holding out the proof. Jason was struggling to get loose, but the men beat him down hard. '(Screams) You'll pay for this!!!' He yelled, getting dragged away. As the whole group got dragged away by the police, I was relieved and followed them. 'Thanks for reporting this to us. It could've been way worse for our citizens!' One of the officers said. I shrugged. 'Ah, it's nothing. I wasn't the one who got the proof, it was my friend. They got too cocky that they were gonna win and take it back. By the way, how long's the sentence?' 'I don't know, really. But very likely it would be for a long time, once they're proved guilty.' He answered. Now that my mission is over, I can finally lay my heart to rest. After so much suffering and nightmares, the terror of the Black Hand was done for. All the bullying I suffered... The bruises I had from their aggression... And even though my parents were gone, I finally put a stop to all the fears I had. Looking back, it all started, because of her- Twilight Sparkle. She taught me so much about friendship throughout so long. She helped me through adversity. Our friendship bloomed like a beautiful flower. The reason why I have the courage to win that day was because of her. She was the spark of my life. I wanted my best friend and I to be together... Forever. //-------------------------------------------------------// Affection //-------------------------------------------------------// Affection I'll be honest with you. I've had a crush on Twilight for a looooooong time. As I mentioned, my past was terrible. I was always inferior to those around me. I was isolated. I was alone. I couldn't defend myself without being a bad person. But that spark of hope- Turned my life around. When I first met her, I never knew we would end up being so close. She has always been my best friend. We used to text and chat around like crazy during the night. I would teach her things about us humans and she would offer me her friendship and a bit of help on my schoolwork in return. It was when Twilight and I met that our friendship started to bloom. I never thought I would see the light of having friends. Yet, here I am- I'm surrounded by many friends. In fact, they're my family. I had someone to accompany me, a shoulder to cry on when I'm down. We had so many good memories together. It's fun teaching them about my world. And it's been great to explore the land I've dreamed of going to. Particularly me and Twilight, we spent and did everything together. And of course, Frisk and Asriel prepared me for the battle I wanted to win. I've seen what their normal lives are; They're actually very friendly. People think they are powerful and kinda a bit scary in one way, but I bet if you would stick around and enjoy a relaxing afternoon with them, you'll see they're very easy-going. I wanted to thank her. It's her support that kept me from possible suicide. I wished I could just walk up to her and say how grateful I am and how much I needed her. Okay, I did that. The thing is... Her personality is so me. She's so caring and friendly. And I like how she takes things seriously sometimes. I started being drawn to her. I don't know why at the time. Every night, I couldn't sleep really well. I was so shy about confessing how I feel about Twilight. It was after a few months since the war ended that I knew the reason: I love her. I really, really loved my best friend. I knew we were friends meant to be. And I know she likes me too. I just couldn't utter the question out, though. I wanted to take that step on our friendship and make it into a relationship instead. She was a companion to me. And I knew just how I'm going to surprise her. One day, Asriel was reading in the castle library, when he found a specific book that he put on the shelf. It was a scrapbook, that not only consists photographs of the two growing up together through the years, but also the memories of the two establishing friendships with ponykind. '(Laughs) I forgot how cute my sister was before she started to fight,' he thought, looking at a picture of him and Frisk together. As he flipped through the pages, from their childhood years to teenage years, from their first victory to their encounter with ponykind... Memories flashed left and right. On one specific page, he stopped. 'Huh? What's this?' Asriel thought. That one page had a really interesting name. It was going to be a picture celebrating their victory of the war. Funny enough, it's not there, but there's a letter. Asriel expected the photo won't be there, but the letter was something surprising. He opened the letter in curiosity. It was from Frisk, and as he started to read the letter, he could imagine Frisk up there, patiently waiting for his thoughts. 'Dear my sweetest brother, Asriel, If you're reading this, I'm glad to know you are safe. Don't worry about me. I am now living in a better place. How have you been? It's been a while since our victory if I recall correctly. How are my friends up to? Are they okay? I really hope so. I miss you all so much up here. I wonder... How's Twilight? Yeah, I really miss her too. She's my best friend. I bet she's pretty depressed without me. I'm curious now, is Nathan getting along with her well? I know they are really close and I start to think they are more than just friends, maybe... Maybe they're a couple? Haha, just kidding. Don't tell her I said that! I just wanted to drop some lines while I have time. I'm really alone without you all. Are you guys getting over my passing? I know it's hard to take in, but don't fret and be so blue about it! I sacrificed myself for an incredible cause. If I didn't do it, all of you would be gone from history! Of course, I don't want that to happen. I love you all dearly, I would never allow something that crazy affect you. Asriel... Don't tell anyone about this next thing I'm going to tell you. To be honest... I love you. I love and care about you more than anything else. The day I saw my sweet brother, I knew we will get along very well. I started to get more and more drawn to you as we grew up together. I never told you this, but I've had a really huge affection for you since before the war. We both needed each other by our side and we loved doing everything together. It was great spending time with you when I still lived. It's too late now, I see. Even so, don't give up. Find someone new! There's no telling what the future holds. I'd love to talk to you more soon. I know you can't reply to me, I just wanted to express this to you, just a little final goodbye. Or... Maybe there's a way to bring me back? I'm sure you'll all figure something out. As for how you'll do it? Well... Let's just say it's going to be something that will change human history forever. I'll let you figure this riddle out on your own. For now, keep everything I told you a secret, okay? I know you will. :) Just remember, Azzy. I love you all until the very end.' Asriel could imagine how much tears his sister cried while writing it. He was right; She did cry a bit at the last sentence. 'Your loving friend always and your sweetest sister, Frisk Dreemur.' He started shaking the paper, tears coming out his eyes. As it dripped endlessly onto the letter, he covered his face and sobbed. '(Cries) I love you too, Frisk...' He cried, collapsing to the carpet on the floor. 'I don't know how you reached out to me, but... (cries) I miss you so much, sister... I wish I could save you, and help you come back to life... But how is that possible?' I entered the room. 'Asriel? Are you alright?' I asked. Seeing him not replying due to all the tears, I picked up the letter beside the poor goat boy. But my action was disrupted. 'No! Don't read it!' Asriel cried. 'Please... It's a secret nobody can know...' I was confused. 'Hey... How do you expect me to comfort you when I don't even know what's going on?' '(Sniff) There's so many... So many things that all of you mustn't know about...' I helped Asriel over to a nearby comfy chair, and let him calm down for a bit before asking anything else. 'Feeling better?' Asriel smiled a bit. 'Yeah, much better.' 'So are you going to tell me what's happening? I heard you crying just now.' He started to feel really shy and started doing awkward hand gestures. 'If I tell you this... Do you promise not to tell anyone before I say it's okay?' I zipped my mouth shut and signalized I'm not gonna tell anyone that I know the secret. Well, at least for now. 'Okay...' He took a deep breath, handing me the letter. 'Just read it.' 'Geez, man,' I finally said. 'That's really heartbreaking.' 'I know...' Asriel replied, wanting to cry again. I thought for a bit, and then an idea that nobody in the world would ever think of doing, a preposterous idea that only someone that has the power to do it would ever experiment, popped into my mind. I put my arm around Asriel. 'What if... There's a way to bring her back?' Asriel just shook his head. 'Oh, please. That's not even scientifically possible! Not even present technology can do that!' 'That is true...' I stopped. 'For a normal person.' 'What do you mean?' 'But first... I want you to do something.' I whispered his request to Asriel excitedly. 'Are you sure about this? It's not gonna be my fault if we end up making Twilight even depressed than she already is.' enquired Asriel. But I just grinned and crossed my arms with confidence. 'Just trust me, Azzy.' So that night, when everypony was sleeping, Asriel carefully crept over to Twilight's bedroom, hoping to find what he's looking for. He stayed absolutely silent to not wake up the dreaming princess. '(Giggles) Frisk, stop it!' She said in her sleep, looking like she's getting tickled in her dreams. Asriel tried so hard not to blow his cover. 'I really don't want to know what in the name of Celestia she's dreaming about,' he thought, smiling as he looked at her. He turned to the shelf beside her bed and very gently opened one of the drawers. Twilight turned for a second, and he froze in place before continuing. A while later, he found the thing I wanted. 'The pendant he gave to her as a present...' Asriel thought, taking it out. 'But for what?' When he closed the drawer and wanted to leave the room, he accidentally made a sound as he closed the door. '(Yawns) Was it just me or...?' Twilight opened her eyes. Asriel nearly cussed (Not going to put what he said here), and quickly slammed the door shut. '(Breathing) Oh, for Chara's sake...' He said, relieved. After he was sure the princess went back to sleep, he took the pendant out of his pocket and had a sigh of relief. 'Twilight, sorry I have to do this,' Asriel thought. At the same night, Asriel woke me up to break the news. 'Psst, Nathan!' He whispered, 'I got it, wake up!' I saw the pendant and smiled. 'Perfect,' I replied, taking it. 'The reason why I needed this... Do you remember what you put inside this locket?' 'Her gold soul, correct?' I opened the lock, revealing the shimmering heart inside. 'I have analyzed this soul secretly countless times when you guys are asleep. That's why sometimes I look tired even after I woke up. The results were stunning; I have never seen such an incredible heart containing so much magic- So much, it survived Frisk's sacrifice. It was no ordinary soul.' I explained. 'Why do we need the soul in the first place?' I had an idea: An idea that nobody in the history of mankind has ever thought possible. 'This soul...' I began. 'Legend has it that, before she died, the goddess of the light used it as a last hope that she can return to this world. Frisk Dreemur is the subject that she chose. I have a theory: If this soul's magic is so strong... And can survive any damage that we know... And if this soul only belongs to Frisk- And Frisk only...' Asriel hasn't clicked yet. 'Then what?' I grinned. 'If we have a body of a pony... And replace their heart with this one... Is the magic contained strong enough to control the pony's mind, and potentially revive our dear friend?' There was a moment of silent thinking between us. 'Come on, that's preposterous!' Asriel laughed. 'How are we gonna even get the pony body we need in the first place!?' 'I'm glad you asked,' I kindly told him. A second later, I was using a unique video game superpower: Something that even I never thought would be possible. 'I have the ability to create how people look before they are born now, and in this case- I'll be able to make exactly what you asked for before we revive Frisk.' I continued explaining. 'Long story short, it's basically "Create a Character" in games.' The goat boy had his mouth dropped in shock. 'How do you even get these powers!?' I laughed. 'I dunno. It's in my blood. But, this is something I'll take care of. I'll keep the soul, return the pendant to Twilight and she wouldn't suspect a thing happening.' Asriel was extremely amazed and excited about his experiment. 'You have the best intentions, don't you?' He asked playfully. My face went a bit red. 'I'm doing this... Because I know Frisk loves you. I know she would love to see you again.' 'Are you sure...?' He continued, thinking that I'm lying. 'Yes, I'm sure! What do you think I'm doing this for? Because I-' I stuttered. 'Never mind! Pretend I didn't say anything, see you in the morning!' I immediately drifted into sleep. Asriel was filled with confusion as he left and wanted to go to sleep. 'Hmm...' He thought, grinning. 'I think he has a way bigger reason why he's doing this...' The next day, as I was gonna wake Asriel up so they can carry out the experiment, I ran into Twilight. 'Hi, Twilly! Feeling good?' I asked. She giggled. 'I'm great, thanks. Though... Something's on my mind for the whole night.' 'What is it?' 'I head some rattling sounds in my room when I was asleep... What could've happened? There's no way anypony would steal from me, right?' I gasped. I knew it's Asriel. 'I dunno... Maybe it's just you, Spark.' I laughed, rubbing her cheeks playfully. Twilight laughed. 'Haha, stop it! It's so ticklish! I'll see you around later then? I have some stuff to do today.' 'Yeah, me too. So... I'll be off for now.' I replied. As the two of us walked past each other, both of us were secretly blushing. '(Sighs happily) He's just so sweet and kind, just like me,' Twilight thought. I folded my arms, supporting my blushing face with one. 'We'll probably sorta just... Happen, won't we?' He asked himself. In fact, Asriel was already up for their experiment. 'Ah, good morning Nathan!' He got up from his bed. 'Ready for it?' 'Born ready,' I replied, 'I have been thinking about so many ideas of how Frisk should look like in my dreams last night! Now, I'll explain how this is going to work while we get to the lab, which can only be accessed by myself.' I immediately opened a portal. 'Come with me, it's safe.' When we got to the other side, it looked somewhat familiar to Asriel. Then the answer became obvious. 'Isn't this the lab from the game Undertale that I am kinda in?' He asked. I nodded. 'Yup! After I completed the game, they went free so the lab is pretty much abandoned! I've been testing on the soul for quite a while.' I walked over to an elevator, which goes down to the real lab. 'Just like in the game, she experimented with the soul in the true lab, so follow me!' We got down and got to a specific room in the lab. There was a bed, with a lot of mechanical stuff around it, and next to the bed, I was creating how Frisk will look like. 'So, I was wondering if you have any suggestions how she should look like,' I asked, swiping around the choices. Asriel thought for a bit. 'I am a little bored with her hair color for a while... It's time for a change, maybe?' He suggested. 'Anything else?' 'Not much, I already like how she looks,' He said, blushing. I laughed. 'I know you love your sister. That's why I want to bring her back to you when I thought of the idea. It's now or never anyway.' As they were talking about other things, I finished Frisk's pony. 'Great! Now, one last step before I create the pony...' I said to myself, taking out Frisk's gold heart. 'So this is what it's for?' I was connecting the heart to a system that could recognize the soul's identity so that when the pony is created, it would identify itself as Frisk Dreemur. 'Excellent, once I create it, it'll be just like Frisk, and she'll have all her memories intact.' Asriel was excited and he started squealing for joy. 'I can't believe this is really happening, my sister is gonna get revived!' I glanced at Asriel, flashed a smile, and had my hand on the lever to initiate the magic spell to revive the legend. I smiled and started to blush. '(Chuckles) Twilight... This is for you, my angel.' I flipped the switch, and a lot of electricity started buzzing here and there on the system. I just gazed in amazement as the control panel started sending energy to the golden heart, transferring the information of the soul to the new pony. After a few minutes, the pony body started to glow with a gold aura. It released a magical shockwave, that flung us back a bit. And so, the first-ever revival of a human or a pony has successfully been done! The new pony opened her eyes. She could hear Asriel merely calling to her from beside. 'Frisk... Frisk! Can you hear me?' Someone called out. She recognizes the voice: Asriel Dreemur. 'It's pretty familiar... Wait...' She thought. The pony opened her eyes and woke up with a scream that scared both Asriel and me. '(Breathing) Asriel? Is that you there?' She looked at Asriel. I beamed. 'Yes! It worked! Hey Asriel!' I turned to him, only to see him not where he was. Then I turned to the new pony and started to giggle a bit. 'Aw, now that's just cute.' I thought. In fact, Asriel was already cuddling with his sister, both of them crying tears of joy as they reunited. '(Sobs) Frisk... You're finally back! I missed you so much!' Asriel cried. She smiled as her loving brother pulled her into his arms, even though she's a pony at the moment. '(Laughs) I miss you too, Azzy,' She kissed him. 'I love you so much, and same with you, right?' He nodded, and let go. I turned to her. 'So... Frisk, it's you, right?' I asked. She nodded and took a look at herself. 'Wow... Am I a pony now? That's awesome! Now, Twilight and I will be much closer!' Frisk was reborn as a pony. Her skin color stayed orange-yellow, but her hair changed. Her natural hair is mostly blue, with vertical magenta and yellow stripes, just like Twilight's mane. She also had a dazzling bright blue tail. 'You look amazing, sister!' Asriel squeaked. She giggled. 'I know! My mane is so colorful now!' 'You're gonna have to thank me for that, for I was the one who made this possible, not to brag,' I laughed, winking at Frisk. She got off the bed and wanted to hug the one who saved her. It's not as easy as she thought since now she has to get used being a pony. 'That was a bit awkward, wasn't it?' She asked. 'You'll need some time to get used to this.' I suggested. 'Oh, and Frisk... Do you realize what kind of pony you are?' Frisk actually had both horns and wings, she became an alicorn! 'Wait... I have wings! That's perfect!' She spread her beautiful wings up. Asriel smiled and messed a bit with Frisk's mane. 'You're just like Twilight, you're an alicorn!' She was really excited. 'There's a little question...' Frisk said. 'I am glad I got revived, but... Why now though?' I started to explain his plan to her in a whisper. 'Okay, so basically, I want to surprise our best friend Twilight for her birthday. I know, I know, it's still quite a while. But, you'll need time to get used to this and I want you to be able to get used to being a pony before I decide to tell Twilight.' Asriel was curious and interested, so he wanted to secretly listen to what I was saying. 'Hey, Asriel!' I nudged him out of the way since I didn't want to hear what I'm saying. 'Okay! You can whisper to Frisk about your little... secret,' He smiled. 'What secret?' Frisk asked. I blushed a bit but changed the subject. 'Nothing! Anyway, Frisk...' I continued whispering. '(Laughs) That's a great idea!' She said excitedly. 'I'll tell all of our friends about it except Twilight, so the surprise won't be broken.' I explained. 'Well... Hopefully, they won't ruin it, especially Pinkie.' 'Yeah, we all know how much of a big mouth she is,' Asriel followed. Frisk giggled. 'So... Do I just stay hidden for now?' 'If you like to,' I said. 'I'll tell everypony first. Twilight said she had something to do a few days later, so while she's gone, I'm gonna gather the group and reveal you being a pony.' 'Thanks, guys. I'm so glad I'm back, I can't wait to see my friend,' She replied. Asriel played with her mane again and hugged her. 'It will be a while, but just keep yourself hidden from her.' A few days later, the news was released but has been kept a secret to the general public. All of her friends were shocked, but everyone was so cheerful to have their famous legend and friend back. As for my plan, Frisk is getting used to being a pony and using wings and magic, thanks to Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie and Starlight Glimmer. She was a fast learner; She got used to the ropes quickly. It's only the hard spells that she is unable to do for now. Throughout the next few months, for whatever reason, Frisk was able to completely avoid Twilight, even though she messed up her teleportation spells! She really didn't want the news to be spoiled before her big day. The day before the surprise, Twilight was hanging out at the top of her castle, watching the sunset. I came over coincidentally. Seeing her alone, I wanted to talk to her for a bit. 'Hey, Spark.' I said, tapping her back. She turned and smiled. 'Oh, hey Nathan, what is it?' I sat down to start the conversation, smiling. 'Don't you feel... Alone most of the time?' She nodded. 'Yeah, I do. It's lonely without Frisk. Why'd you ask?' I started to blush. 'Well... I know it's been some time since the war ended and... That happened. But, you can't keep that bad memory in your mind forever, right? I know it's hard, losing someone you love. Don't be so sad all the time, you're still doing well recently.' 'I'm trying to get over it recently,' Twilight replied. 'Honestly... There's something I want to tell you, Nate.' 'Go for it,' I said. 'You know... We've met for a long time. And... I was always so delighted to know that being a friend of yours really helped you change your view of life. We used to be pretty different but through this experience... I only just realized how much of a friend you were to me. You were unique and special, unlike the other humans who like such awful thoughts in their mind.' I chuckled. 'I may or may not have repaid you by being so kind to you after the war ended.' '(Laughs) I think so too.' She laughed. “But, really... When I first knew about you, I thought being your friend would be a challenge- We belong to two different races. And it’s not like our tribes met for a long time like the others in our pony world. Now... Look how far we’ve come. I know, we’ve had our quarrels along the way. However... Our friendship was such a beautiful thing and such a new experience for me.” I nodded and put my arm around Twilight. “I feel the exact same way, Twilight,” I replied. “I was greedy for attention, yes... But through time... I was yearning for friendship and care. You gave me that. No one else in real life, excluding my online friends, have been able to touch my heart so warmly and I’ve never had such a close friend. I feel... I feel happy, no matter what I’m doing. So long as I’m with you.” I stroke her fluffy ear and gave her cheeks a little rub. She closed her eyes and welcomed the soothing sensation. When I looked off into the sunset, my buddy leaned on my shoulder, and hugged me by the neck. She started becoming sleepy and made a few adorable purrs as she snuggled against me. I kindly rubbed and patted my best friend’s head. 'I wonder... I'm not really ready to say it, but..' Twilight sat back up, blushing as she turned her head to look at me lovingly. Seeing that, I started blushing too. However, just before I confessed, I lost the words when a breeze flew by. It interrupted my thoughts, and I decided that I wasn’t brave enough yet, so I held onto my affection once more. 'Mhmm?' Twilight asked, showing me a charming face. 'Oh, right. Spark... I know I've lost many things from the war, including my parents. You'll... You'll never leave me, right?' I asked. She held my hand and put me under her wing. 'No way. I won't leave my best friend alone,' She promised. Both of us held each other's hand and watched the beautiful sunset. I was blushing the whole time, so it wasn't long until Twilight realized I had something in mind. 'What's wrong, Nate?' I covered my face, trying to hide it. 'Nothing! It's just...' I almost slipped my tongue. “I mean, thanks for being my best friend, Twi. I... I like you. Really.” She smiled and leaned on me. '(chuckles) Aw, Nathan... I like you too,' Twilight said. 'Awww, that's adorable!' Asriel whispered to Frisk. In reality, the Dreemurs were secretly watching the two being cute together. Frisk was taking photos and shipping them. 'Haha, Nathan and Twilight, sitting on a tree~ k-i-s-s-i-n-g~' Frisk giggled. Asriel started laughing too. 'Actually, Frisk... I have a question,' He said. 'What's that?' He blushed. 'We've been siblings since birth, and we grew up together. I don't see anyone who will know you as much as I do. I never told you this but... I've always had feelings for you, sister.' She gasped. 'Really?' Asriel nodded and hugged his sister. 'You don't understand how much I loved you as a sibling. I hope we can both stay together as long as we live. You're already a part of my life, but I wish we can be so much more.' He explained, cuddling Frisk. Frisk cried a bit and hugged her brother. '(Chuckles) I love you too, Azzy...' She cried, kissing him. As he was going to kiss back, he heard the steps of me and Twilight coming over. 'Quick! Turn invisible!' He advised. They walked over like nothing happened, and soon as they went down the stairs, Frisk showed herself and both of them showed a sigh of relief. She just clicked. 'Wait, tomorrow is Twilight's birthday!' 'Don't worry, we've got everything planned. Just relax, honey.' He slipped his tongue, and immediately covered his mouth. She blushed. '(Laughs) Aww, you're so sweet!' They both ended up laughing for a long time. //-------------------------------------------------------// The Confession //-------------------------------------------------------// The Confession The very next day, I showed Twilight the surprise. She couldn't have been any happier. I know she missed her friend so so much, and I wanted to let my best friend apologize to Frisk for real, after everything they went through in the war. I didn't really want to bring up the question during her party- Twilight was just so excited for her birthday! Of course, I didn't want to bother her. And besides, I wanted her to spend time with Frisk, now that she's revived. I felt like a bit of an outcast during the celebration, but in my heart, I felt happy for my dear Sparkle. Standing at the corner of the room, I was thinking about some things. Frisk noticed me and wondered why. 'One minute, Twilly,' She said, pausing their conversation. Frisk leaned on my shoulder as I was secretly thinking about my friend, holding a bouquet of roses in my hands. 'Hey, what's up? You're quite silent today,' She asked. I put the roses away into my shulker box (Video game power again) and blushed. '(Laughing) You... You didn't see that, right?' I stuttered, scratching my head. Frisk laughed. She knew what I was thinking. 'You don't have to hold it in if you can't.' She advised. 'You could tell me, I think I know already.' I immediately turned. 'Oh no... How did she know?' I thought. But, I just sighed. I signaled her to put her ear close to me so I can whisper the truth. 'I have a crush on Twilight!' I confessed. She gasped and started to laugh hysterically. I just covered my face. 'Oooooo~~ Things are getting hot up here!' She laughed. 'Are you serious?' I nodded nervously. 'Yeah... But I... I'm not sure if I'm ready yet...' 'Oh, come on, Nathan, be confident in yourself!' Frisk said. 'Don't you remember how you won against that gang that haunted you? You lacked the confidence to try new things. I know this is a huge step, but I don't see this isn't a bad idea! You seem to know her even more than I do sometimes! I know how close you two are and I know how much she means to you. This is a perfect way to repay her kindness. I mean, you both have a strong connection already.' 'But... What if it's not true? What if she rejects me?' I asked. 'I don't know if she loves me...' Moon Dancer, one of Twilight's friends, came over to join us. 'I heard the news, Nathan,' She said. 'I used to be a great friend of Twilights. And, I was amazed at how much she knew about friendship. I mean, she is the princess that represents it! However, there's one aspect of it she has yet to experience and understand: Affection and love. Seeing you have always been so close to her, you both must have a great connection. All you have to do is to pop the question!' I looked at both of them. 'You sure I'm worthy to be her lover?' I questioned further. 'I don't know if I am...' 'Hey, I'm sure you two can work through any trouble together. And don't worry, I won't be mad about it if that's what you're worried about! Go for it!' Frisk encouraged. I nodded. I had a plan. 'Thanks, girls. I'll go for it, once I think I'm good.' After a tiring, but a fabulous party for the day, it was night, and everypony was slowly drifting away back into dreamland. When Twilight was going back to bed, I came up to her. 'Hey uh... Twilight?' I called out. She turned back. 'Yes, Nathan? Thanks for the surprise, by the way. I really mean it.' My face turned red upon her thanks. 'I am very happy to see you guys are back together. But, that's not the point.' 'Oh? What is it then?' I smiled. 'Do you want to go to the place where you and Frisk first made the promise?' 'For what?' 'I... I have something to tell you.' We went back to Britannica, on the hill where Frisk and Twilight promised to be best friends for life. I was so ready and so not ready to pop the question at the same time. I sat down on the soft grass on the hill, where the hill started tipping lower. The sky was a shade of lavender and stars twinkled brightly in the marvellous night. It was definitely the perfect moment and view for a confession like this. I turned to Twilight, and invited her to sit beside me. She did as I told her. There was a bit of silence before either of us started speaking. “Isn’t this beautiful?” Twilight asked, turning to me. I breathed to relax myself. “Mhmm, is surely is. Hang on, it feels dark over here. One minute.” I created a little blue flame in my hand, tossed it up, and it turned into sparkly shining glitter. It lit up the area very nicely, and I was very happy about it. “Very romantic,” Twilight commented, giving a nod of appeal. I blushed. “Thanks.” We continued to stare under the brilliant light of the moon and stars. It was perfect- The setting, the atmosphere, and of course, both of us feel very nice and glad around the other. It was a quiet and peaceful night- Like I wanted it to be. Unintentionally, I sat closer to Twilight. She noticed this and did the same, pressing against my side. I wrapped my arm around her neck and she did the same with her wing. We’ve always been best friends- But I really wanted us to be something special. I took a deep breath, and tried to hit up the conversation. “Spark?” She turned. “Yes, Nathan?” “The reason I called you tonight,” I said, “Is because I want to say something special to you.” I think at this point, Twilight already knew what I was going to say. But as her best friend, I totally understand she was hiding it. She just nodded and patiently waited for me to get comfy before I asked it. But I wanted to have some buildup, like any love confession should have. “We’ve went through much together, you and I,” I said. “All the fun times, bad times, and silly moments we had... It was a wonderful ride. And it’s even better, when I’m going through everything with you. I’m so lucky that we crossed paths. You changed me. It’s a blessing I’ll cherish in my heart forever.” Twilight smiled. “I feel the same way.” I can tell she’s blushing- And I was too. I tried to collect my thoughts but Twilight made her move first. “Nate?” “Yes?” “Why me, out of Everypony?” I was confused, and my eyebrow twitched. “I mean,” she repeated, “Why did you pick me to be so close with, out of any other pony? It’s... It’s not like I don’t like you, but there are many other ponies you may love to have as a friend, right?” I grinned and shook my head. “I’m not biased,” I explained. “I love making friends. It’s just... You have a more special place in my heart. That’s why I seem to care for you much more. You are the princess of friendship. I’m sure you know a lot about it- And you must be a wise mare who doesn’t do harm like some of my other old friends. You’re really beautiful, too. That’s why I chose you, Twi. Because it’s meant to be.” “Really?” I calmly nodded, and pet her kindly. My hand on Twilight’s dazzling mane, I blushed hard for a minute, before she notices it and finally breaks my cover. “Is something wrong?” I chuckled and shook my head. “No, Twi. However... I do have something on my mind.” Twilight gasped. She knew what I wanted to ask. So I just stopped and let her calm down before I revealed it- But I know she has the answer. Under the light of the moon, the stars, the gracious night, it couldn't have been anymore perfect- We said the same thing, together. “I love you!” Surprised, we covered our mouths immediately, and started to blush. Not only did we just admit the truth we’ve hidden for so long- We confirmed it- At the same time. “Y-You serious?” I asked. “Come on, Twilly... *sniff* You’ll make me cry...” Twilight sniffed. “Yes, Nathan. I love you, my friend.” “*giggles* Why?” I chuckled nervously. “Why, out of everyone you could have picked... You picked me? Come on, you know who I am... *chuckles* Pathetic, weak, unassertive... Why would any mare want a boyfriend like that, unable to protect them in dire situations?” The princess held my hands. “Stop believing those lies, Nathan,” Twilight told me, looking straight into my eyes. “They’re gone. You proved they’re wrong. There’s no need to believe they’re right- It’s all a big lie. You are so kind, so caring, so passionate about being with us and doing anything... And I can definitely feel it. Every word you say... It meant a lot. *chuckles* Even after all of that, I don’t understand why I got this sudden feeling. But what I do know, is that once you’ve won, I persuaded you to stay, because of one reason.” I gasped. “You’ve had a crush on me, for so long?” She nodded. Then, I started to cry a bit. I tried to silence myself and force the tears back, while I tried to utter out my feelings for her. “Oh, Twilight...” I cried. “Let me tell you, my friend. When I first knew you, you were such a role model. I once envied you for having friends- But through time, I wanted to be like you. It never happened until we did meet. All of this... All of my new friends... They’re are my everything. However, all those blessings came from you, Twilight Sparkle. You were, and always will be my lovely angel.” She wiped her eyes, but the tears won’t stop. I couldn’t stop myself either. The two of us, with tear-stained cheeks, looked at our best friend- All of this time, and after so long since we met, we’ve hidden a powerful connection all along, and both of us we’re beyond pleased to finally figure it out. “*sobs* Twilight...” *cries* Nathan...” We both gave each other our tightest and warmest hug we can possibly give. Shuffling in the embrace, we cried and cried together, and said so many things about our crush on each other. Every one of those words touched our heart- Piercing right through our bones and tingling our soul. “There are so many horrible humans in this world,” Twilight cried. “*sobs* But... I’m so glad... That out of all the humans I could’ve met that day... It was you...” I almost died of happiness. Those words melted my heart. “*cries* I... I don’t want to let go!!” I cried loudly. “*crying* I love you, Twilight!! More than anything else!” She sniffed and put her wings and hooves around me, attempting to silence my cries. Her hooves moved on my back up and down, her comforting wings gave me shots of warmth and tenderness. She really did love me back. “Mmmm,” She hummed in agreement. Then she lightly chuckled, but it sounded like a sob. “I love you too. We both gave each other so much. And if you really want to be with me... I wouldn’t give it up for the world.” “*cries* I wouldn’t either,” I swore to her. We continued to cuddle each other for 5 more minutes, shuffling left and right with each other. We both understood- It wasn’t just friendship that brought us together now. The bond we share is with no doubt, unbreakable. Although we may have been through a lot in the past, we knew- Nothing will dare to tear us apart anymore. I dearly loved Twilight. And she deeply loves me back. It’s not just about friends anymore- It was love. I couldn’t find a reason to leave my pony friend’s embrace- It was so heartwarming and bittersweet, and the message that she loved me lots was sent from the heart. So I tried to make her feel the same thing from me. We shuffled more and more, until we finally decided to let go, once we’ve stopped all the crying. When I left the hug, it was so unnatural- And I found my clothes were stained with tears. Twilight’s mane and fur was wet too. We laughed and laughed. “That escalated really fast,” I said. Twilight giggled. “Indeed.” At this point, just looking at our beloved friend is enough for us to blush. Both of us already knew once more, that one thing is missing from this couple proposal. “Hey, Twi?” “Mhmm, Nate?” My face turned red. Then, I just took a deep breath, and said some interesting words to her. “We’ve kissed several times, right?” “Haha, yes... Where are you going with this?” Twilight just smiled and winked at me affectionately. We just looked at each other. “We’ve never had a true lovers kiss, I just remembered,” I reminded. “Since... Now we’re technically loving each other... Should we...?” The mare had a big grin. “I’d love to. But...” “But?” “Promise me you won’t laugh if I do bad?” “Why would I?” I put a hand on her cheek. “Because... I’ve never kissed anypony who’s been my special somepony. This is my first true kiss with someone I love,” Twilight explained. “I don’t know how it works when you’re doing a a legit kiss.” I comforted her with a hand. “Don’t worry, we’re in the same boat. I never did, either.” We had a light giggle. For the next few minutes we spent all that time just blushing and unable to really go for the kiss. One of us would keep trying to smooch, but the other would just pull away because we’re both so bashful. But it was no problem- We just laughed it off. Then I had the perfect idea. “How about this, Spark,” I offered. “I’ll kiss you, but you have to make the promise.” Twilight thought for a little and nodded. “Okay.” I blushed. After all this time, all of these years, I’ve been alone all my life... I never imagined I would get a girlfriend someday. It was an honest miracle for me. Twilight would never leave me- And I wouldn’t leave her either. I know we’ll always stick together through anything. Nothing mattered to us- We just wanted to be each other’s lover. After so long, I finally got to say the following words. “Twilight Sparkle,” I said formally as I stood up, holding her hoof as she mirrored he action. “I would be honoured to be your boyfriend, and I wish to share every moment of my life with you, and I promise we’ll love each other forever.” She smiled. “I loved being your best friend, Nathan Hon,” Twilight said. “And after everything we’ve went through, I’ve learnt so much about you. We both did. This request from you, I can’t express how happy I am to receive it. Our future may be uncertain, but... I will always be your girl.” I picked her up, making her squeak. I grabbed her hooves, and swung her around playfully, both of us chuckling and beaming with excitement. In the end, I pulled her back, and we both locked eyes as we stood in front of each other. “I swear to you,” we both said, “I will forever love my best friend.” As a grin was proudly seen on our faces, we leaned closer and closer, until our noses touched. Tilting heads, we closed our eyes. And there it was- Our first lover’s kiss. We held that moment for what seemed like forever. The longer our lips were stuck together, the more relaxed we were and the more we wanted it to last. When her lavender lips met my ones, that bittersweet feeling filled me with nothing but ecstasy. As we drew impact, a chill of excitement and affection ran up my spine. The smile grew wider and wider as we briefly broke apart, and lightly kissed again. The sounds were so addicting- One smooch after another. I wrapped my girlfriend’s body in my arms, both of us still standing. She did the same with her wings and hooves for balance. I would’ve started brushing her mane, but she was a bit heavy so I needed both arms to hold her. Between kisses, I would nuzzle her muzzle and she would nuzzle my cheek. We started becoming more frisky and kissed a ton with our new lover. It must be funny to watch. Finally, there were 3 light kisses, and we gave an extra big kiss to end it off. “Mwah!” I said, laughing. “Awww, I love you, Twi!” “*giggling” I love you too!” We both laughed and hugged again. It was a brief one, though- Because I wanted us to chat more for the night. Of course, it was late and I didn’t want to keep Twilight here for long, but I just wanted us to have some quality time together after all that happened in the war. “Do you still remember when we first met?” I asked her. She turned to me, and placed a hoof on my hand. “Of course,” She replied. “It was the start of a great friendship. I just wanted to keep in touch with you because you seemed like a friend I would like to be with. Never have I imagined it would led me to this.” I nodded. “To be honest... I’ve always loved you, Twi. I just never got the chance to say it, in fear that you might not like me back. *chuckles* That’s why I was so glad you said yes. However... I’m not the best at romantic relationships. As you may know, I never really had a lot of extremely close friends in real life, most were online whom I never planned to meet in the real world. I did have feelings for someone else, but since I met you, I forgot about it.” “Awww, don’t say that!” Twilight laughed, nudging my arm. I laughed along. “Basically... I’ve never been someone’s boyfriend before. It’s my first time being in a couple. I waited for so long to say this to you, Twi, because I wanted to be very sure we trust, we care and we love each other enough for me to make sure we are a perfect pair.” Twilight grinned and agreed. “I see. This is my first time too, Nathan. So we both don’t have to worry. If we have any downs in our relationship, or we played the wrong card sometimes, it’s not a big deal. It’ll take time for us to get used to being lovers. Also... While I agree with what you said, I know there is no perfect match. Something will happen to make them fall apart. The same goes for us- I know we’ve been best friends and we love each other so much, but you remember a while ago, when I called you a fraud in the war?” Both of us giggled. “I know,” I said, bringing her close with an arm. “*sigh* I’m sorry, Twilight. Moving on... I guess you don’t really know much about relationships compared to friendships, do you?” “Sadly, not much.” “Well, guess that we’ll learn more about it together now,” I replied, “For we are now officially a couple.” We both had a big smile and embraced each other, nuzzling and snuggling. In comeplete bliss, I just held my dear princess tighter in my arms, and she just let out a few sighs and did the same, patting my back. “I’m so glad I met you, Twilight. Thank you for all the blessings you’ve given me.” “Me too, Nathan. And I thank you for always sticking with me, no matter what.” I sniffed, and had a light chuckle. “You’re so, so welcome, sweetheart.” I slipped my tongue, but I could tell Twilight liked it from her blush and surprised yet beaming face. I wanted to cover my mouth since I was so shy, but Twilight won’t let me because freaking magic. “Awwww, Nate...” She wrapped her hooves around my neck, leaned close and gave a big kiss on my cheek, making a loud squeak as she applied pressure into the contact. I was so surprised yet so cheerful at that moment- I never thought I would get kissed by anyone besides my parents... But here I am, sitting down with my best friend in the world, and she just kissed me with all of her heart. Although she did kiss me before, this one feels much, much different. A minute later she finally pulled away unwillingly. “*chuckles* Are you okay?” Twilight asked. At that moment, I was absorbed in the bliss of when her lips pressed on my cheek- Love hearts flew above my head, all the memories I had with her were coming back, and that hug- That tight hug when we expressed our love... All those feelings, they returned to me to make me realize how important she was to me. “Nathan?” I frantically shook my head to get myself back into the zone. “Yeah? Sorry, I got carried away, I’m fine.” Twilight giggled and leaned on me. “Were you thinking about everything we went through?” “*gulp* Yes...” “Ha, knew it.” We shared another good laugh. We knew each other so well. “Before we go... I have something to ask,” I confessed. “What?” I collected my thoughts, and turned back to her with my most reddish face. “I’ve never kissed anyone outside my family, except you. This sounds cheesy, but... Can I kiss you? No need to return it, just let me bring you the warmth. It is my first time after getting into a relationship.” She nodded gladly. “Of course.” She just turned her face so her cheek was facing towards me. Seeing her beautiful face, I was a little too scared to even kiss it. I did warn her that I may get carried away. When she agreed to it, I went for it. I really wanted to give her my best kiss. So I tried to. I never did this with anyone else- Only her. I’ve never kissed anyone without return. So, to see her heart flutter the moment I did kiss her, I was very pleased. I wanted it to last longer- I didn’t want tonight to end. I continued to kiss Twilight on her muzzle, her neck and her horn. With every peck, she grew increasingly cheery. At last, I held her head and she held mine. “I want to make a promise to you, Twi.” “Me too.” We sat close to each other. “Twilight Sparkle, I promise you tonight,” I said, “No matter what troubles hit us in the future, I will do my best to help you solve it- And we’ll always face every challenge, together.” She nodded. “Nathan Hon... I want us to be together for as long as we could,” She told me warmly, “I don’t mind if we were born together, but I wish Even till our last breath, we’ll be right next to our sweetheart.” I started crying again. So did Twilight. “You’ve given me my everything, Twilight,” I calmly said. “It’s only fair that I accept your most desired affection with mine.” Twilight sobbed a bit, but calmed down. “I will too... I-I... I love you!” Under the moon, we shared another tender kiss. Once more, I wanted that moment to last a lifetime- The contact was perfect. At one point, I even kinda pushed her to the ground. We laid down, and pulled each other’s head close to reconnect the kiss. As we closed our eyes, smiling, our foreheads touched as we broke apart. We hugged tight, and I could feel the future of both of us, the dreams lulling me to sleep. “I want to be with you forever,” I whispered. She felt a tingle of utter joy, and kissed me once more. “I do too.” //-------------------------------------------------------// Epilogue: A Bright Future //-------------------------------------------------------// Epilogue: A Bright Future So, what happened after that? Well, nothing special is happening. At least it hasn't happened yet. Okay, yeah. It's only been a year since the war so it's not really that long. Everyone was happy, my friends were all good, and we get to pitch in on some of my videos from time to time. Meeting my childhood YouTube idols was fun- Now I am joining them for a ride! I got back to recording videos on my channel; Haven't done that in a while. I eventually dropped out of school- At this point, there wasn't really a reason to continue, at least that's what I thought. So, I'm now spending the days doing the things I love: Making videos, playing video games, spending time with my new friends and what not. Besides, the campus had to be rebuilt since the war, and I didn't want to wait forever for me to go back. I got the special age spell treatment- Something around this point of time, only people who have a great fortune to get. But I ain't need to pay for that, since I contributed so much to helping the ponies win! So now, I'm locked in the age of 25, 2 years older than Frisk. Speaking of Frisk, apparently she started to date her brother Asriel, seeing her best friend might not always be around to keep her company. So that’s pretty much my story of how I got to Equestria and how Twilight and I met. Looking back, it might have happened so long ago, but our encounter was something I wouldn’t forget for as long as I live in this world. It was Twilight who gave me everything I have today. I stayed in Equestria, because of the wonders it has that Earth didn’t have. It’s harmonious society. There’s a lot that I’ve learnt from this journey- Most about friendship, since having such close friends was a pretty fresh experience for me. I’ve changed- In a good way with the things my friends taught me. Managing connections... Defending myself... I even learnt about love. I’ve been dating Twilight for around a year and we’re still getting along just as well as before. But, there’s one undeniable fact I’ve learnt: Life, is a roller coaster. So, no matter if it’s good or bad, it’s not because we’ve done something hurtful- Nor is it because we’re successful. It’s a natural thing- Something that can’t be controlled. When I’m down, I tell myself, “A blessing will come.” When I’m excited, I’ll tell myself, “No need for the overreaction, for something bad will come my way.” Just like in this journey- I’ve had my fallouts with Twilight, but we’ve always had those bittersweet memories as well. And even though these ups and downs would come to us for many years to come, I know we would be ready for anything- Whether a blessing or a curse. Our end will come someday. So, before it, just have fun while you have the time; Cherish every good laugh, and take your setbacks as lessons for yourself. Although my future is uncertain, I’m trying to be cheerful as much as possible nowadays. Through this emotional trip, I’ve lost a lot- My identity, my original home, my reputation of the humans... and of course... My parents. All I’m left now, however... Is a group of the best and supportive friends I can ever imagine hooking up with. Of course, this chapter does not mean the end of my life- Challenges await me in the coming years I have. I want to change. I want to fit in with the ones I love. I don’t want to be just a shadow. I couldn’t do it own my own- Without my pals, I wouldn’t have won and I won’t be here right now. So, they’re not just my friends- They are my new family. And they always will be, for the years to come. ************ I finished writing the last sentence, and happily scribbled the words ‘The End’ with a beautiful cursive style below the last line. “Ahhhh,” I sighed, putting down my pen. “Finally finished.” I stretched myself out- I’ve been working on the book for the whole day. I closed it, revealing the lovely cover on the front of the book. It was an adorable picture of me and Twilight, in our respective forms, leaning with our backs pressed, and a smile on our faces. We were sitting on a nice patch of grass- Just like how it all ended. The book, named “The Encounter”, was something I worked on for a long time, and after using one full day, I finally finished the last few chapters in one go. It was all about my feelings and my memories with my sweetest best friend throughout these years. I looked at the picture frame on my desk, beside my computer. It was a lovely picture of Twilight and I, as we looked over the fireworks show of the festival of friendship after we became a couple. She lightly kissed my cheek, as I made a charming smile. It made me think back on everything we’ve been through together, all the good times, bad times. But I know- Time, in a way, is an illusion. The only thing that’s real, the only time I can change and alter, is the present. I put down my big headphones and stopped the music I was listening to. I picked up the book and made a lovely present box, with purple and magenta wrapping on the outside. I placed the book and a letter on the back of it. Finally, I tied it all off with a pink ribbon, with a nice bow on top. I really liked it. “*blissful sigh* It’s late now... I wanna show this to her so badly...” I said to myself. So I picked up the present, and walked over to Twilight’s room. When I opened the door, Twilight was about to go to sleep. I called out to her, with my present behind me. “Spark?” She turned to me, and grinned. “Hey. What is it, Nate?” I walked over, and took a deep breath before I showed her my present. “I know it’s tomorrow, but...” I chuckled. “Happy birthday, Twilight. This is for you.” She let out a squeak of surprise and smiled. She levitated the gift with her magic aura, and started to neatly open it, revealing my book. “*giggles* You sure know my tastes,” Twilight giggled. I stopped her before she could say more. “Ah Ah Ah! Don’t get fooled! This is a very, very special book- I wrote this story. It’s about everything we went through and how I felt about our every memory. All those times we spent together, and what I went through before we met... I decided I should finally come clean with all my hidden feelings.” She beamed and looked at me. “You did this... For me?” Twilight asked. “I... I know you’re very thoughtful on doing things for me, but... *chuckles* This is wonderful! Thank you!” I blushed. “I started writing a while ago,” I explained. “There were so many questions I bet you had on your mind, but I’ve never answered them. I wanted to come clean about everything. Plus... I wrote this, to express how much of a friend you have meant to me for so long. I wouldn’t trade our treasured bond for anything in the world- Not even for my passed parents. It’s because I love you enough to dare, Twi.” She was sniffing, and I could tell she was fighting back the tears as we sat on the double bed. “*sob* Thank you, Nathan...” She sat close to me, and nuzzled dearly against my arm. Then she realized the letter. “Can I read this?” I covered my mouth with a hand, and part of my reddish face. “Go ahead.” Dear Twilight Sparkle, Spark, you make me possibly one of the luckiest and happiest people to exist. Words can’t describe the love and affection I have for you- And I have been containing it in my head for years until we were ready. I picked you, because no one else would pick me. I was alone. All of my friends were just online ones that I wouldn’t meet, even now... Or the people I deal with are ones plagued with darkness. I hated that. But you, my friend, proved you were living in the light, like me. I’m really grateful to be spending every moment, every day and of course, our every kiss, with none other than you. Twilight, I know our future is uncertain. We both don’t know much about love. But, through time, I know for a fact we can learn together. Being in a relationship means you are willing to devote all you have for someone you trust and care for. And I am willing to make the decision. I’ve lost many things. I can’t bear to lose you as a friend either. Please don’t leave me, sweetheart... Your silly little buddy, Nathan. Twilight was crying when she got to the end. “*cries* Nathan...” I felt the tear roll down my eye, and immediately hugged her tight while crying, we spent the next few minutes just resting into the embrace, crying with each other. “*sobs* I don’t want you to leave me ever again...” I said, “Please stay with me forever... Pretty please?” Twilight sobbed a few times and was unable to cough out the answer. So, I gave her a moment to calm down. I brushed her mane and dried her tears. My hands were trembling from my crying, though. I touched her cheek warmly. “I... I will,” Twilight replied with a smile. “I don’t want to leave you alone either. You’re my best friend, and I willl never ever let that change.” We blissfully sighed. “*sniff* Thank you for this,” She told me kindly. “I... I love you so much...” I cried a little more. “*sobs* I love you too...” We both let go, and I pushed my lips into hers to lock in a tender kiss. Twilight closed her eyes to accept the contact, before applying pressure. As I saw her smile, I knew she loved me kissing her. At that moment, I didn’t want anything else- I just wanted her to be by my side. And I know, she did too. We finally broke the kiss to look at each other. “Have I told you something?” I asked. “What?” I nervously chuckled. “Y-You... You look really, really beautiful and cute. I’ve always wanted to say it but-“ Twilight silenced me with a big hug. “*giggles* Hahaha, awww! You look great too. I mean, not extremely handsome, but... You know what I mean.” We both laughed. “Well, Love isn’t about the appearances, Twi,” I said, holding up her face. “But, I appreciate your compliment.” The two of us stayed silent for a while. That is, until Twilight had an idea in mind. “How late is it?” “It’s only nine. What’s up?” “Good,” She said, blushing. “You... You wanna come with me?” I followed her to the balcony, that lets me look over Ponyville. The town was like I remember- Nothing much changed. I stood beside Twilight as we peered over the railing on the edge, under the starry sky. “The stars are sparkling tonight,” I said, admiring the stars. Then I turned to Twilight. “But they’re not nearly as pretty as you.” Twilight giggled. “Haha, stop it.” “So... What is it that you want us to do up here?” The princess turned my body to look at her. She had a very special invitation. “I have never done this with a boy before, and I’m not familiar with it,” She said. “But...” She held out her hoof as she bowed slightly. “You want a dance?” I was really shy- I haven’t danced with anyone since high school, and that was a nightmare. I have played dance games with my friends before but not like this. Even so, I didn’t want to crush her dreams. I took her warm hoof, and lifted her up, trying to help regain her balance. “You okay?” I asked. “Mhmm!” She replied. “Is it okay if I play a song?” “No worries. Just use magic.” The music kicked in, and since it wasn’t that fast, we were able to get used to the rhythm nicely. At the beginning, as a warm up, we just swayed side-to-side. As we got into the chorus, we would occasionally spin each other around. We had great chemistry- Matching every movement even though we were only amateurs. And at the final chorus, we held each other by one hand and spread out, then bringing each other back together. Twilight winked at me, and flew up a bit, trying to be more daring. With magic, I spread out my green wings too. We started spinning mid-air, holding onto each other. Finally, when the song ended, we flew back on the platform, spinning in a hug as we landed. We let go and bowed before we spoke. “You weren’t that bad,” I said. She smirked. “Really? I’ve never paid attention to dancing, being a bookworm and all.” I nodded as I held her hooves. I gave her a little spin, and caught her from her back. “Trust me, the only reason why I do these tricks that I’ve seemingly never done before tonight,” I told her, “Is because I trust you would be okay if I messed up.” “Haha, looks like we’re even on how daring we were tonight.” When I looked at Twilight again, she was beaming- She has never danced with anypony. And this special hangout meant a lot for me and her. But something was missing. So I gave it to her. “Aww, you sweet little biscuit,” Twilight grinned. She forced herself into another tender kiss. I gently held her tight, and tipped over to let her fall a little before applying pressure. It wasn’t easy as I’ve seen before, though- It was nonetheless bittersweet. She broke away a second later. “May I return the favor?” I offered. “Anything.” “I want to snuggle with you tonight.” “*giggles* I was waiting for you to say that,” Twilight giggled. We stepped close, and I lightly kissed her hoof before I took it and walked back down the stairs. And in less than 5 minutes after we settled ourselves back to bed, we were in complete cuddling mode with each other already. We even straight up just collapsed on the bed as we kissed when we came in. I rolled over to bring Twilight onto the bed. We started snuggling and purring against our lover. Twilight held me in her wings as she nuzzled deeply against my chest. I put a hand on her head and petted her, before I got a turn. When I did, I nuzzled her nose and cuddled her affectionately, my whole body tingling with excitement with every giggle she gave as I squeezed her. I realized- This wouldn’t be possible, if I never met her. If I had never met her, I would’ve died now. Twilight meant a lot to me and I wanted to repay her by doing everything I could to make her cheery every day. She gave me a lot in my life, so it was only fair I treat her with the same respect, love and kindness she gave me. As I kissed her ear from behind, I smiled. “How are you feeling?” I asked. Twilight hummed in bliss. “Very nice. Mmmm... You’re really, really soft and snugly.” “Awww, please stop,” I begged. “I hate being embarrassed.” “Oh, really?” She stared at me before she kissed my cheek. “Twilight!!” She burst into hysterics, but still apologized and said it was a joke. “I say that, but...” I gulped. “Actually, I’ve been blushing whenever you and I are together alone, ever since the day we met. Cool, right?” She turned and continued nuzzling her head under mine. “I knew you had a soft spot for a long time,” Twilight said. “I never knew why until you beat those people. It was then I developed feelings for you, Nate. I wanted to show you why we wanted you to stay with us. If you really chose to leave, this wouldn’t have happened. I know you must’ve had a crush for a long time but I wasn’t sure... Great, now it doesn’t make sense, if you wanted to be with me, why would you leave?” I was very shy. “Because I was blinded.” “By what?” I flipped the blankets to cover our bodies. “As I said that day... The only reason why I wanted to be friends with you all, is because I just wanted the company, happiness and encouragement from you guys. All I wanted to do in my life was prove to them I wasn’t one to be messed with. *sigh* But I was wrong in one way, I knew that.” “Huh?” “Twi, look at me.” We both starred at each other, and I placed my hands below her chin, holding her head. “The reason why I stayed,” I confessed, “Is you.” She gasped. “Really?” “When you walked up to me, you reminded me how much you meant to my life. You were the one who gave me hope when I’m down. You were the one that gave me encouragement to fight. You changed my life for the better. I owe you everything I have now. Sometimes... When I walk around Equestria, the land I love and belong... I couldn’t help but feel thankful. I know, I know, Frisk was the one who established the idea, but if I didn’t meet you, we wouldn’t have happened.” I explained. I pulled her into a tight hug. “We’ve had our fallouts,” I said. “But it doesn’t matter. I could never, ever hate you, Twi. I love you more than anything and anypony else in Equestria.” She smiled and accepted the embrace. “I love you too, Nate.” When we let go, we looked at the clock- it was ten at night. Yet, we were already yawning. “I see we’re both tired,” Twilight said, yawning afterwards. I did too. “Right, we better sleep, then. We haven’t had a sleepover like this for a while, haven’t we?” She rested herself closer. “Well, it’s going to be like this all the time now.” We both chuckled. Nuzzling our noses, we kissed once more, pulling the other’s neck and refusing to let go. We let out some very cheerful hums and sighs as our heads moved back and forth, since we applied more pressure to the contact. It wasn’t till it was a few minutes later I found out this wasn’t right. Twilight was obviously trolling me. So I trolled her back with a tickle attack. “Ahhhh! No! Nathan!!!” She tittered. “Haha! The fun has been doubled!” I said triumphantly. “Okay! I’ll stop it!” I stopped tickling- and she did stop trying to kiss me, in a good way. I brushed away a part of her mane that covered her charming face. “This... This is where I belong,” I said. “Thank you, Twi, for helping me realize it.” She put a hoof around my head. “You’re very welcome, as always.” The two of us started closing our eyes, our vision getting hazy. Our foreheads drew impact, and we leaned for a kiss again. As we sighed in content, drawing in each other’s breath, we were in complete peace and bliss. “Good night, my little sparkle,” I said to her. She definitely heard it, because her smile grew wider. “Sweet dreams, my sweet human friend.” I smiled too, as I used magic to turn off the lights. As I drifted into dreamland, sharing a nice romantic dream with my new girlfriend, I thought to myself: God, I now see your plan. You have given me such a splendid life to cherish in my later life, I see it now. With reward, comes with pain, I know. It was indeed correct- I was seemingly destined to suffer for my whole life... Until I met her. She changed my life path- But I realized- It was never changed. It was meant to happen. I don’t know why it had to happen on me, but it did, so the only thing I can do is accept my past, the present and what comes next. Even if it’s bad. The future is unknown and weird. As I was dreaming, having quality time with my girlfriend even in dreams, we both knew- The future is unpredictable, anything can happen. When she asked me, about what my future life would bring, I just gave her a kiss and told her this: I don’t know, my love. But it’s certainly going to be better than my past. Author's Note Wow... 30,000 words! I never thought I would accomplish this target! Anyway, thanks for reading this story, as always. Hopefully you all did not mind the extremely cringy and extremely gigantic amount of cheesy scenes and shipping that you had to bear. :twilightsheepish: https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/twilightsheepish.png I think I've worked on this for a few months now and now that this is done, I may return to the main series. I couldn't really get a good idea on how to write it, though. Nonetheless, I would finish episode 6 and 7. It's just that there is no release date for now. Thanks for reading my story and understanding! Please follow if you want to see more stories like this in the future! EDIT: Oh and the song in this chapter (I rewrote it today, May 26th 2018) is Gorgeous by Taylor Swift. I just wanted to add this cool little dance part in for funzies :pinkiehappy: https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/pinkiehappy.png
