Common love, fancy dresses

"...and there we go." Said the doctor removing the last of the bandages on my face.

"Yep," I thought when I looked in the mirror. "just like him."

"Just like who?"

"Uh, no one. Well doctor, thanks for patching me up." I said standing up and going for a hoofshake

"My pleasure, a friend of yours stopped by earlier to pick up your stuff said her name was Rarity." He said shaking my hoof.

"Is she still there?" I said going out the door.

"Yep, she said she had something special to ask you."

"Ok, thanks again doc."

"No problem."

I pressed the button for the elevator. I waited. And waited. And waited."Must be out of order. Looks like i have to take the stairs. In what level am I?" My jaw hanged open as I saw the level I was in. "Level 29? How in the hay am I goin-" I then facehoofed myself for not remembering that i had wings.

Lobby.

"8-bit, over here!"

I turned to the sound of the voice. It was Rarity. She looked so beautiful. "Beauty sleep does wonders to you, doesn't it?"

"It sure does." She said as she put her arms around me and started kissing me. "So, how do you feel?"

"Like if I have been covered in bandages for a month." We both giggled at my stupid answer." So the doctor said you had something special to say to me."

"Oh...um that..." She looked nervous. "I was wondering if you'd like to move in with me?" She winced as I was gonna say no, how am I going to say no to that answer.

"Yes, Rarity I would like to move in with you."

"Oh thank you, thank you, thank you." She said as she hugged me. "C'mon lets go to my... I mean our home" She said holding my hoof.

Rarity's Boutique After 8-bit went to his apartment to pick some stuff up.

"Okay, I'm done setting this up." I said as I finished plugging in the PS3.

"Oh, 8-bit can you call Sweetie down, I'm finishing lunch." Said Rarity as she dumped the noodles into the boiling pot.

"Ok." I said as I climbed up the stairs. As I reached her room I could hear the makeshift explosions and car sounds.

*KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK* I learned to knock when I was a filly because I walked in my parents "doing it". I pushed that memory out of my mind.

"Yo, sport, came here to tell ya dinners almost done."

"Ok, Uncle 8-bit, gimme a sec." She said as she put the dolls down and went beside me.

As we went down the stairs I could smell the spaghetti from here.

"This can't be spaghetti, this smells too heavenly to be even food." I complimented.

"Oh stop it you." She said blushing.

"It's shtrue her shpagettis are aweshome!" Sweetie said with her mouth full.

"Don't eat with your mouth full, Sweetie." Sweetie said OK and gulped the food.

*KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK* "Rarity, It's Twilight, I have special news from Celestia."

"8-bit could you let Twilight in?"

"Sure." I said as I got up and cleaned the smudge of sauce in my lips with a napkin.

I opened the door and there appeared Twilight reading one of the seven letters that levitated off the ground.

"Hi, Twi." I said. She looked up and shrieked.

"Oh my Celestia, 8-bit don't do that again" She said breathing in some air. "Anyway how are you feeling?"

"Good, uh, come in." I said to her as I stepped aside.

"Thanks." She said as she entered the house.

"Twilight, darling, how are you?" Rarity said.

"I'm fine but look at these invitation from Celestia." Twilight said as she gave Rarity her invitation. "This one is for you 8-bit."

I opened the letter and this it what it said:

Dear 8-bit,

I heard that you saved a little filly from certain death, but received a taste of Death yourself. Those actions don't go unnoticed and unrewarded. This letter is an invitation to a royal ball at Canterlot. A carriage will pick all of you at 8:00 to take you here.

I couldn't believe my eyes. Celestia... THE Celestia invited me to a royal ball.

Twilight and Rarity shrieked in happiness. "We'er going to a royal ball!!!" They both screamed.

"Oh, I must get ready." Rarity said.

"I'll go tell the others!" Twilight said sprinting out the door.

"Oh my gosh. Come on 8-bit i got a little surprise for you." She said as she closed a drawer and opened another taking out a tuxedo with a rose and a... fedora. Damn i love those hats. "Here try this on.” she said giving me the clothes and hat.

"Now all I need are my sunglasses." I said looking in my bag and putting the sunglasses on the fedora.

"Hey big sis, can I come?" said Sweetie with a dress her size. "Pweaze?" She said puppy eyed.

"No, that's going past your bedtime." Rarity said.

"Oh, come on Rarity let her come." I said "Pweaze?" I said doing the same face as Sweetie.

Rarity didn't last 5 seconds. " YAY!!!" Me and Sweetie screamed.

7:30P.M., Rarity's Boutique.

"Ok, I'm ready." I said putting on my Fedora that had a White feather on the left side." Come on, Sweetie lets play Little Big Planet while Rarity finishes."

"Ok!" She said as she went behind me.

25 minutes later...

"Hey, Rarity, the carriage arrives in five minutes." I said.

"I'm coming!" She said.

"Sweetie turn the system off." I said as I walked to the kitchen to get a glass of water.

"Ok." she said turning the ps3 off.

I filled the glass with water. "Ah, water what would I do with out you." I thought drinking it.

"OK I'm ready." Called Rarity.

I came out the kitchen and when I saw her my jaw dropped to the ground. She was dressed in a sparkly purple dress and if i was correct a pair of stockings with a image of a rose.

"Do you like it?" She asked.

"Like it? I love it." I said.

"Hey guys the carriage arrived!" Called Sweetie.

I opened the door and let Sweetie and Rarity out first.

As we climbed in the carriage everyone stopped chatting to greet us.

Applejack had a cream colored dress. Rainbow had a blue short dress. Twilight was dressed like a school teacher at a school ball. Fluttershy had an impressive one the end of the dress reached her just above the hooves and was made of flowers and leaves. And Pinkie well... Pinkie's was too pink to describe.

Half way to Canterlot they started to ask me questions.

"So how does it feel to have scars?" Rainbow asked.

"Well, it feels a little painful sometimes but not nothing I can't handle."

"Can you see from the left eye?" Asked Applejack pointing at my milky white left eye.

"No, I asked the doctor an that eye is dead i can only move it around, see?" I said as i moved it around.

"Can I touch it?" Asked Fluttershy.

"Uh, sure just be careful." I told her.

"Of course." She said as she touched it.

"Um, Excuse me," a guard said. "But we have arrived."

I peeked outside and I saw a majestic palace, beyond mortal description. Inside were a few people dancing and such.

"Come on lets go inside." Said Twilight.

As we entered we were greeted by almost everyone.

"Lets go see princess Celestia." Said Twilight.

"My little ponies, how are you?" said Celestia behind us.

"Oh, Celestia there you are we were just going to look for you. We are fine thank you."

Celestia glanced at me. I started to get nervous. "Um, he-he-he-hello Princess" I stuttered as I bowed down.

"Rise." I obliged. "You're 8-bit right?"

"Y-y-y-yes."

"Then enjoy your self, you deserve it." she said as she pointed at my scars.

"Ok."

And with that she left to greet the other guests.

"*sigh* I've never been this nervous."

"Don't worry it's your first time meeting royalty." Said Rarity caressing my cheek.

"Your right. Now lets see if they have champagne."

A few hours later.

"Ok, 8-bit come on just tell her you wanna sing a song to your love life." I said to myself as I approached the singer. "Um, Excused me," The gray unicorn turned around. "Yeah I would like to Sing a song."

"Yeah sure."

"Ok, I'll sing the first few lines and you take over after the instrumental break, Ok?"

"Yeah, but what do you want to sing?"

I whispered the songs name in her ear.

"Ooh that's a classic sure just let me tell the band, you just make a presentation." She said as she went back stage.

"Ok lets do this." I said as i made it to the microphone.

"*ahem*" Loud feedback. "Well that caught everyone's attention." The room burst into laughter " Well I just want to thank princess Celestia for throwing this great Ball." Everyone agreed. "Well I came up here to say, I'm going to sing a song to a specific white unicorn, that i fell in love the first time I saw her, her name's Rarity and this song is for you." As I finished A few ponies had appeared behind me with instruments in hoof. "We ready?" I said away from the mic. They nodded. "Ok, here goes nothin." As the saxophone started playing I took a deep breath and:

"Blue Moon, you saw me standing alone

And then there suddenly appeared before me
The only one my arms would hold
I heard somebody whisper, "please adore me"

As the gray pony continued Rarity waited for me on the dance floor. We assumed a slow dance position and danced.

"I didn't know you sing." She said.

"I don't, I got lucky." I said.

As we danced more people joined.

"Please adore me" she whispered to me.

As the song finished I held her close and said "I already am."
