The sound of water falling to the ground echoed throughout the small, cold room. Twilight Sparkle's eyes slowly slid open, as she finally regained consciousness. A few moans escaped her weary lips and she forced her tired head up off the ground. "Wha-....Where am I?" She muttered quietly to herself, as her eyes began to focus, and she got a better view of her surroundings. She was in a small room, made mostly of what seemed to be rocks, and other hard material. It seemed like a prison, the only furniture in the room consisting of a wooden bed-frame, and a small wooden table sitting cozily in the opposing corner. On top of the table, was some kind of record player, none like any other Twilight had seen in her time. After a few moments of her examining the room, she attempted to stand, but her knees bucked underneath her, causing her to fall back onto her rear. "Uhnf.." She placed a shaky hand on her head, attempting to ease her throbbing headache. What was going on? Where was she? Placing her free hand against the wall behind her, she used the extra support to lift herself up, and onto her feet. She took a few seconds to gain balance, then slowly made her way over to the record player, leaning against the wall for support. Upon arriving next to the un-usual device, her eyes scanned over it curiously. She had never seen anything like it before, but, just by looking at it, she could tell it was quite old, possibly as old as the 1800's. Removing her hand from her still throbbing head, she slowly reached forward, and traced a finger along the edge of the device. A loud cackling sound emitted deep within it, startling Twilight Sparkle. After a few seconds, the noise died down, and a feminine voice broke through.
"Welcome! You are now listening to the sound of my disembodied voice. It will serve no purpose to look for me, for this is a voice from the past! I bid you welcome to my cabin of perturbation. It is my study of the Equestrian psyche, specifically yours! A set of recordings have been prepared to chaperone you through the chambers ahead. There are few parts to this study, and it is up to you, not only to pass, but figure out which elements are important. Please go on, move into the next chamber. Just remember; they can all be saved! There's always a way.."
And with that, the sounds coming from the device died, and the room fell silent once again. Next chamber...? Twilight thought to herself, as she looked over at the door, which was placed conveniently next to the recorder. She stumbled over to it, and placed her hand on the handle. With a deep breath, she pushed the metal door open. It opened quite easily, and she peered out, into the empty corridors ahead. They were dark, and an eerie feeling welled up in Twilights throat. "Well, no use in staying here any longer." She muttered quietly to herself, as she stepped out of the door, and into the long-stretch of hallway.
Slowly closing the door behind her, she began her tread down the dark hallway. After a while of walking, she approached a fork. Not sure which way to go, Twilight decided to check the right path first, and headed off in that direction. Not long after, she came to a dead end. Rocks, and boulders blocked the path, preventing anyone from going further. Sighing, Twilight was about to turn around, but something caught her eye. She looked back, at spotted a small lantern sitting umongst the debris. "Well. That'll definitely come in handy." She said, smiling, as she picked up the lantern, and heading back the way she came. While she was walking, Twilight examined the new light source. It had a small amount of oil in it, enough to last about, oh, twenty minutes? "I guess I should find more oil.." She said under her breath, as she approached the fork, and headed down the only un-explored path.
After about five minutes of walking, Twilight decided it was time to take a rest. She was still quite exhausted, and this would give her an opportunity to sit down, and try to figure out what happened. There was a small, bared window near the ground, to the left. There was a light on inside whatever room it was, so Twilight decided it would be the perfect place to rest at. She shuffled over to it, and sat down directly in-front of the window, trying to get a good look at the contents of the room inside. It was a small room, much like the one she awoke in, but, instead of rock walls, this room seemed to be padded. It had a bed in one corner, and a table in the opposite, much like her own. But, this one lacked a record player. She heard what sounded like a moan, then the sounds of chains being dragged along the ground. "Hello? Is someone there?" She asked out with a hint of hope in her voice, but when there was no reply, she frowned to herself. "I wonder what that was all about.. In fact, I wonder what this place it about! How did I even get here..?" She pondered to herself, quietly.
After she had rested for a couple of minutes, she rose again to her feet, and began her tread down the hallway. The further along she got, the lighter the corridor seemed to get, which she found strange. There must be a light source up ahead. She thought to herself, as she rounded another corner, and, surely enough, she was right. Not more than a few feet away was a door, with light shining through the barred "window" that was on it. A smile spread across her face, as she hurried towards the door. Peering through the "window", she tried to get a better view of the room, but, with the bars, it was impossible. So, she slowly pushed opened the door, and stuck her head in the room. It was quite a large room, much larger than the other two she had seen. It seemed to have five doors total, not including the one she was at. Two located on the left wall, with a decent amount of space in-between them, and two more in the exact locations on the opposite wall. The last door was directly across from the one she stood at. Boxes and barrels were piled in different sections of the room, and, what seemed like gates, were placed inbetween each set of doors, almost reaching the ceiling, and about a quarter of the way into the middle of the room. The walls and floors were made of stone, just like the room she had awoken it, and the room has decent lighting. Twilight Sparkle stepped into the room, and quietly closed the door behind her.
