That Girl
Chapter 3, A Party For All, I Guess
Previous ChapterNext ChapterFinally arriving to our destination, we all hopped out of the white van and into the earsplitting and eye blinding mansion that was filled with vibrant colors and loud music. Parties, this is the problem! Its a huge contrast with the silence and serenity whenever I'm in the library's company.
"Goodness," I muttered while my friends and I squeezed our way through the crowd to the buffet table.
"Now this is life!" Rainbow Dash cheered and poured herself some cider, although not as near as Applejack's family cider, she still said it was good.
"Yay," Fluttershy cheered as well, although not as loudly as anyone would expect coming from a human.
"While we're here, I might as well find someone to dance with," Rarity said and waved, "tah-tah!"
"I'm coming with you, Rares!" Applejack called and ran to walk alongside the pale skinned woman.
"Hey, Pinkie," I said and went to stand awkwardly beside her.
"Hey, Twiley! What's up," she replied, showing no shame as she stuffed cupcakes into either her hair, or mouth.
"What are we supposed to do here, anyway?"
"Oh, you didn't think I'd forget this is your first party, didn't you? Well, no fear, auntie Pinkie is on the case," she said, patting my head.
I cringed. This hand have uncouth written all over it... I tried not to be savage thinking that.
"Pinkie, I'm 3 years older than you," I deadpanned.
"Even better! Now, come on, we've got a lot of ground to cover," and she grabbed me by the arm and dragged me off, just then I remembered Fluttershy and Rainbow, but I looked around to see them already enjoying themselves by the buffet table, near the dance floor, so I just shrugged and went with Pinkie.
By the time the excruciating journey stopped, it was when I noticed we were by the pool. I looked at Pinkie with surprise.
"I didn't know there was a pool party here too," I said, which made her shrug with a coy smirk.
"What can I say? I'm Pinkie," then she did this really cute pose where she pulled up a peace sign, winked, and lolled some of her tongue out.
It caused me to crack up.
"Oh, Pinkie," I laughed.
"Works every time," she then pretended to dust off her clothes, earning her a shake of my head. "Anyways, let's go!"
"Go where...?"
"Swimming, duh," she rolled her eyes with a smile.
"What?! But I didn't even bring spare clothes," I said in a jiffy.
"Twilight, Twilight, Twilight, you should know auntie Pinkie's got your back," and with that, she pulled a shirt from... Out of nowhere it seemed.
"Still older than you," I huffed. She handed me the shirt and bounced off. "But, Pinkie! I don't have anything to wear on my lower regions!"
Suddenly, a shorts smacked against my face.
"Thanks," I grumbled sarcastically.
"I'm off to the changing rooms, by the way! Feel free to follow!"
I sighed and trudged after her, while at the same time studied my surroundings. The majority of the party contained students from our school, but some were parents that, to say, are pretty high class. They must be associated with Sunset's parents. Speaking of Sunset Shimmer, I haven't seen her yet ever since we pulled out of the driveway.
Maybe she's in her room or on the dancefloor. Wait, why would I care? She can do whatever she wants. It's not that I'm being savage, but Sunset and I have been nemisis ever since a certain cafeteria incident in 5th grade, and that was her seventh time of pouring or spilling something on my clothes, and every time I would be going home to change...
Well, until the fourth time she did that, at least. But still, she was a complete jerk! Not just to me, but to everyone else as well! I'm surprised the invitees even came, considering her attitude, but I guess getting invited by one of the richest people in the town to their party would be pretty grand.
Finally reaching said changing rooms, which actually turned out to be the showers, Pinkie and I changed our clothes. In separate cubicles, of course! And right after, she practically dragged me towards the pool. She herself jumped in firsthand, "wee," her gleeful cry, but then came the realization that she was holding my hand still.
"Uh-oh," was the only thing I managed to say before I was drowning.
Pinkie Pie giggled in sheer happiness as she saw me helplessly come back up and spit out the water that entered my mouth.
"Pinkie Pie!!!"
She laughed while snorting occasionally, which made me chuckle in amusement. Suddenly, she dove down the water. She never came back up. I started to panic a little, searching the water with my eyes. I couldn't submerge myself in there, it would be useless since I never open my eyes in water.
"Pinkie? Pinkie, where are you?!" I shouted amongst the crowded waters.
But then I felt something hugging me from behind which made me squeal, but then got silenced when that person sent us plummeting to the water backwards. I struggled for breath once more, and when I opened my eyes, a laughing Pinkie was all I could decipher.
"Why, you!" I huffed in irritation at always experiencing the water pool taste test. Seriously, couldn't it be someone else?
"Sorry, I couldn't resist," she giggled, "the temptation was real."
I sighed, but then laughed with her in the end.
"Hey, Pinkie, Twilight!" A voice greeted from their right, and both said names looked to see who called.
"Heya, Lyra!" Pinkie happily greeted, grinning to the max.
"Hey, Lyra," I greeted more calmly with a friendly wave.
"So, how's it been this summer? Shame we didn't see each other at summer camp, it was amazing!" Lyra gushed, which Pinkie also found amusing.
"Oh, I know! Oh I don't get why they put all of us on separate schedules. We could've had singing class together, or instrument," Pinkie said with a hint of disappointment.
"We were in a different campsite, Pinkie, so not seeing each other would make sense. Even if we're under the same school," I said with an amused grin as Pinkie slumped in the water.
Lyra suddenly laughed, which made Pinkie and I look at her questioningly.
"I suddenly remember the time when Swee- I mean, BonBon and I went canoeing with the other students and Sir. Cappa, we almost got tipped over because BonBon and the most of the campers got on one side of the deck to see the piranha Sir. Cappa was pointing at," she continued laughing, and this time was joined by Pinkie and I.
"Oh, your lucky it didn't turn over, those piranhas sure would love a Scooby-snack," I joked.
Pinkie giggled, "yeah, especially because you and BonBon are on it. You two are fire hazards, even for piranhas, because you're hot," Pinkie winked playfully, and there we lost ourselves to laughing and getting stomach aches.
Boy, did I ever question myself if I would enjoy this night. Oops... I think I just jinxed it.
