Chapter 6, WTF

So the party went on, no sign of the supposed host nor her family, and so far I'm not dead. Yay! It's turning out great! But wait... Nope. Nope. No, no, no, no, nope.

This is not happening.

It's horrible! It's the most tragic thing, EVER!

Sunset Shimmer just walked up the platform!

NO!

"Hey, people, look, I don't wanna do this as much as you don't want to see me, but my people keep telling me to greet you guys so... Wassup. That's all I got, sorry not sorry," and she dropped the mic and walked away, the static going haywire.

Wow. Best speech ever. Not.

"That was the best speech I ever heard!"

I stand corrected. Rainbow hollered for Sunset, saying she was the best in speeches.

"It was awful," Applejack deadpanned.

"It was okay," Fluttershy stated, but it sounded like she was questioning herself.

"It was terrific!!!" Pinkie Pie accompanied this with an enthusiastic jump.

"Alright, alright, it was cool, we can now stop this, right? Right," I interjected before anybody could say anything else.

My eyes wandered unconsciously towards the platform, then to the small staircase beside it, and to Sunset Shimmer herself, who had surprisingly been watching me even before I caught her in the act. Even if we were a few footsteps away from each other, her eyes were so clear to me. It was telling me something.

It was as if she was truly intrigued by me. And the way she seems to be frozen like she's in her own faraway land was a telltale that she's in deep thought about something or someone, and I'm willing to bet that it had been me on her mind.

Then, a flash of something faint glowed there, in her very eyes, and it was so faint I nearly didn't notice, but what I saw shocked me for that small glimmer was... Longing.

"Anybody seen Rarity," I heard Rainbow say which quickly snapped me out of it.

Sunset Shimmer? Longing? For you?! Twilight, you're in one hell of a crisis because apparently you can't tell the difference between fantasy and reality. Not that she'd ever been my fantasy, ew no!

"Over there!" Pinkie pointed in the direction behind me.

They looked to where she was pointing at, so I did too, and saw Rarity with a decent man, around the age of 30 if I had to assume. He was pale, I can tell you that. Seriously though, half the population in this mansion is of pale-skinned people, the quarter being normal tan and the other quarter being dark. I mean seriously, their paleness are so suspicious. Why am I even thinking about this right now?

"Excuse me, are you Miss Sparkle?" A deep voice from behind me electrocuted my heart to jump, so my body followed, and goodness was I surprised to find a man in a tuxedo. What's with tuxedos tonight?

"Um... Yes? I mean, probably because my mom is not here I'm pretty sure, and we're the only females in the family, save for Cadence and Flurry Heart," I started my awkward ramble and cleared my throat at the end, "sorry," I said, accompanying it with a shy twirl of my hair with my finger and a sheepish grin.

The man raised an eyebrow at this, but then gathered his posture once more, "Madame Shimmer awaits you."

My jaw gaped, my brain stopped working, and I swear I would've looked like a fish if I had the gills and fins. What did she want to do with me? And if I hadn't caught her stare earlier I wouldn't have believed Sherlock Holmes over here.

"Uh... Huh?" I told you, my brain was on lockdown.

"Please just follow me, Miss Sparkle, we don't want to keep Madame Shimmer waiting," he fidgeted albeit nervously, which was amusing, and slightly brought me out of my daze.

"Okay, then," I said unsure and let him lead the way, turning back to look at my friends incredulously.

They shrugged with identical "wtf" faces. Oh well, I'm gonna miss them. The guy's name, it turned out, was Peter Pepper, but in the mansion and his working hours he's known as Mr. Pepper. I like his name, hey, don't judge the guy, alright? Alright. So he led me up to the frickin' top floor, which was the fifth, and I started questioning myself if this was a house or a hotel. And get this, we used the elevator. There is an elevator here?! How many bucks do these guys own?!

Don't answer that, it might take a few weeks to count all of them.

"Did she say what she want to do with me?" Because I'm seriously questioning my sanity over here.

"No, Miss. She just told me to fetch you asap," he replied.

He made me sound like a puppy with the word "fetch," but okay then.

"I wonder what she's up to," I wondered aloud, and Mr. Pepper quickly averted his gaze onto the buttons, because apparently they're more intriguing than I am.

But I know that body language, and it's screaming, "you don't want to know!"

Finally the bell dinged, so we stepped out and he led me towards what I think is a joint, because there's a hallway to my right, left, and front. Seriously, who designed this house?

"I will be taking my stop here, Miss, by orders of Madame Shimmer. Just go straight forward here," he pointed to the corridor in front of me, "then turn right upon reaching the end. The door should have a label of Madame Shimmer's," he said.

"Thanks... I guess," I smiled at him politely and made my way to said direction.

Upon reaching the door, I suddenly felt anxiety creeping up my stomach. Goodness, what if she's a serial killer?! Or a rapist?! Or a kidnapper?!

No, no, no, Twilight, you are over exaggerating this, she's not any of those.

But she's unpredictably very undisciplined, so there's a 99.99 percent chance she could be.

What am I thinking about?! I'll just go in.

But once I opened the door, what greeted me surprised me the most. There, on a bed, laid Sunset Shimmer, who had nothing on but a tank top that revealed waaaaay too much skin and dangerously short shorts. When she noticed me staring at her, she dropped her phone and rolled onto her belly, propping her head on her hand, still smirking at me.

"Hey, baby."

My mind blew up.
