Our story begins with a card fighter named Ernest. He wasn’t the best at the game of vanguard but he would always keep trying.
One day when he was about to lose his eyes start glowing and to his surprise the card he likes the most spoke to him. “Lets win this my vanguard.” it says with a rough,strong,forceful voice. The very next turn he wins the game with a double critical trigger on his drive check. Then as if by magic he disappeared. When Ernest next opens his eyes he is shocked to find himself on Cray!
“I thought Cray was just something made up for this game?” he thought then he saw it. His avatar in the flesh. “Dragonic overlord!? Your real!?”
“Yes and you have been chosen, the void has entered another world and we need you to head there and stop it.” he says.
“Me? I'm not the one you should ask! Their are way better players of the game even just in my school!” Ernest says.
He shakes his head. “There's a reason you have been picked. The world the void is threatening is one you know well. Equestria.”
Ernest pales. It's a very well known fact that he is a brony as well as a card fighter. “Equestria is real too!? And in trouble!? Count me in then!”
“I was hoping you would say that. But a warning. You won't be human when you arrive. But like me.”
“I don’t care! If i can help I will.” As soon as Ernest says this a red sigil appears at his feet.
“Time is short. I have been given the power by the messiah to send you but i can't pull you home.”
“Send me then.”
He nods then the sigil grows and Ernest is flung out of Crey. As he travels his body starts to shift and change till he looks like his favorite card.
Equestria in the Everfree
It was a nice sunny day in Ponyville. The birds were singing there isn't a cloud in the sky. Fluttershy was going to Zecora’s hut when she heard it. A very loud “THUD!” as if somepony or something just hit the ground hard.
“Oh. Something just hit the ground. I wonder what it is?” Fluttershy though as she wandered to the sound.
As Ernest came to he thought. “What a crazy dream. Crey being real? Equestria being real? Me stopping the void?” he stands up but is confused when his hits a tree. “Weird i'm in a forest.” That is when he saw it. Instead of a hand he sees a red claw like hand with a wing like extra sticking out of it. “It wasn't a dream! I'm really Dragonic Overlord!” he says in a deep powerful voice. “Oh i guess i have his voice as well.” then he sees something off in the far distance. “Is that a pony?” somehow taking to the sky he spots the pony. “Its Fluttershy! But she looks like she is being stalked by timberwolves.”
When Fluttershy finds the huge crater she starts to get nervous. “It was a dragon?” she was so curious about it that she didn't notice the timberwolves closing in on her.
“I can’t let them hurt her,but i don't have a weapon. I've got to think fast.” he flies down and the shockwave from him landing so fast knocks the timberwolves to the side. “Are you okay?” he asks her but she is knocked over as well. “Sorry miss.” he says not wanting to risk anything he grabs her and flies the way he thinks is her cottage. To his relief it was the right way.
“I’m glad that worked out. Miss. are you okay?” he asks again seeing her wake. She sees a huge dragon towering over her a toothy grin over its face.
“Hello there. I’m glad i was in time. I hope i wasn’t to rough in helping you out of that jam.”
Realizing he is why she wasn’t hurt she faces him. “Thank you for saving me. But wait where is the thing that made that crater?”
“That was probably me. My name is Ernest. What's your name?”
“Fluttershy.” she says quietly.
“That’s a nice name. And ya that was me. Trying to fly for the first time.”
“Oh did you just get those wings or something? Are you okay?”
“Ya new to flying. And yes i feel fine. Now then what do i do? I have no where to live and-” before he could finish a purple pony runs up. “Hey Fluttershy- who are you!?” Twilight Sparkle says in shock.
“As I told your friend my name is Ernest.”
“Why are you here?”
“I have something important to tell your leaders.”
“Well then i think i can help you with that. Princess Celestia and Luna have summoned me and my friends to talk about a new threat in the crystal empire. So if you do have any info then i suggest you come with us.”
“Just like that? I’m a strange looking dragon and you just let me with you like i’ve been friends with you your whole life?”
“If your words are as important as you say then yes.”
“Alright then. But I am kind of big. Do you want me to fly and follow or what?”
“You can fly there sure. Take this map just so you don’t get lost.” Twilight said floating in her magic a map.
“Alright but won’t the guards be suspicious of me?”
“Unnerved yes. Suspicious no. as long as you mention you have info for the crown.”
Nodding he takes of his powerful fire orange wings propelling him quickly. Despite not knowing perfectly the way there it only takes him around 30 minutes to arrive in Canterlot.
“I should have asked for a shrink spell.” he thought as he was so big he had to be careful not to step on any ponies or buildings.
As he was walking around he caused quite a ruckus. So much so that the guards at the front rushed to Celestia. “Princess there's trouble. A huge dragon has just entered Canterlot. What do we do?”
“Has it tried to hurt anypony?”
“No. In fact it is going out of its way not to hurt anyone.”
“I will meet with it. Try and calm down the crowd.” she said as she flew out to meet with the dragon.
After having just decided to sit and wait he is surprised to see celestia fly up to him. “Hello there noble dragon. What brings you to Canterlot.”
“Uh first can you use a shrink spell on me? I don't want to hurt anyone.”
“Give me a minute. There we go.” she says as a gold aura surrounds Ernest and he shrinks to just a bit taller than her.
“There we go. Much easier to move. My name is Ernest and i have something you and your sister must hear.”
“What could be that important?” she thought. “Okay well let’s wait for some guests of mine.”
“You mean Twilight and her friends? They sent me ahead. I have a feeling what i am going to tell you and what you called them for might be connected.”
“Really? Are you sure?”
“Has the problem changed ponies? Like made them the opposite of what they are? And do they have strange powers?”
“Yes in fact. Plus strange red marks sometimes appear on those affected.”
“Then what i have to say is connected.”
After about an hour Twilight and her friends arrive. “I'm sorry i forgot to use a shrink spell. You weren’t hurt were you?”
“I was not. But come i have much to tell you.”
Twilight and her friends follow behind Ernest surprised he knows his way around the castle. When they reach the throne room Ernest begins to speak. “This info i have is true. I'm not from equis. I'm not a native dragon. My species is a unit from a planet called Cray. and i have been sent to warn you of the threat of the void and its ally the evil clan Link Joker.”
“Link joker?” rainbow asked in confusion.
“Yes. it is a dark clan seeking to conquer. It find those who crave power and gives it but at a price. For most it turns himself or herself into the opposite of themselves. Those with a extremely strong will could control link jokers power but they them self will be used as nothing but a servant. The void is even worse. If it were to get and maintain a foothold here your world is doomed. The god of my Home Harmonic messiah has sent me to aid you and teach you the way to get rid of them once and for all. As crazy as it sounds i have a game i need- wait what's that!?” he exclaims as he sees a dark aura coming from Luna’s room.
After knocking he walks in and is shocked at what he sees. “Luna has turned back to Nightmare Moon! Did she give in to Link Joker?” he thought that's when he saw it. “She has a deck. I should be the only one with a deck. So she did give in.”
“Why hello there chosen of Cray! I have been given power to end you! Get ready!”
