Chapters Whirlwind Spear trudged along with her eyes locked on the empty dirt road under her hooves. The morning breeze rustling the leaves of the trees causing a dance which dappled the suns light on the way to her destination. The scent of the early spring flowers was on the air and the wind carried with it the sounds of Canterlot. The sounds getting more and more faint as she walked until they were no more. Sighing heavily as she dropped her head a bit lower thinking about this unknown therapist she was on her way to see. She had never been to one before and didn’t even know what to talk about. Being relieved of duty was bad enough but the thought her mind was damaged while her body had healed bothered her badly. What kind of a name is Tough Love for a therapist anyway? Breathing deeply, she lifted her head and closed her eyes for a moment to compose herself.
“Pull yourself together. There is nothing wrong with you. It is just a requirement to get you back on duty. You are stronger than this.” She said to herself opening her eyes and continuing on to the property. Tough Loves office was just outside the city but distant enough its sounds couldn’t be heard out there. An office in town may have made more sense and brought in more business Whirlwind thought, but realized the privacy would make it harder for people to know who her clients are which may have been the point.
Tough Love’s practice had just opened and very few knew anything about her. Those who did seem to know were timid to speak of her when Whirlwind asked about her. The only thing she had been able to find out was the property had been bought unseen and the buildings built secretly. She had also heard her cutie mark was a heart with a riding crop on it. Whirlwind didn’t know which bothered her more, not many seemed to know who she was, or no one was willing to talk about her. Whirlwind wondered what could be the reason no one wanted to talk of her? What kind of a pony is she? Where did she move from? All the basic questions someone would want to know about a therapist.
Whirlwind reached the archway into the property and was stunned by the beauty of the property. If she hadn’t known better she would have thought she had returned to the Canterlot Gardens. The grass perfectly cut, the plants shaped with every leaf perfectly in place, flowers arranged in lovely color displays, and water features and fountains reflecting the sky clearly in the crystal waters. The amount of time and money that had to go into the garden and the maintenance had to be extensive. On the far side of the grounds was a large building or a small mansion, she wasn’t sure which it would be. Like the gardens, it was meticulously kept and beautifully adorned with hand carved woodwork, statues and decoration.
“Who is this person? They just moved in and the property looks like this!?” Shaking her head she continued up to the front door. The large wooden double door had one half already open with a note stuck on the other half that read: ‘Please come in and have a seat. I will be with you shortly.’ Whirlwind peered in and saw a large hall with a hardwood floor and a large carpet in the center with a seating area. To the back of the room was a large grand staircase that splayed out to the left and right wings of the second floor. The pillars of the balcony walks were decorated in carvings of ponies and flowers. There were a few furnishings around the edges of the room and a variety of doors leading off to other areas of the house. She took a step inside and her hoof fall echoed on the wooden floor making her turn bright red. Whirlwind froze in her tracks as a second loud clop echoed through the house. No matter how soft she stepped her hooves were going to be loud on the floor due to her size. If she could get a few more feet into the room she would be on the carpet. She looked over the carpet and took a leap forward to land on the carpet with a muffled thud and sighed with relief. Whirlwind began to head for a chair to sit down and heard a chuckle from a door to the left she hadn’t noticed was open.
“No need to worry about the sound Whirlwind. It’s quite normal. Think of it as my secretary letting me know someone has arrived.” Said a voice from inside the room.
“How? How did you know it was me?” Whirlwind replied with a raised voice.
“There is a camera in the room on the wall and you are the only one I was expecting today. Please come in if you are ready I am just finishing getting things ready.”
Whirlwind started toward the door and winced as she reached the end of the carpet. Her hoof hit the floor and echoed in the room with each slow step. The office carpet silenced her steps as she entered. Inside there was a couch and a couple chairs with near a large picture window that looked out to the garden that was adorned with lovely drapery. On the walls were a few bookshelves and various tables with flowers in vases in them or small statuettes and a couple paintings. The room was smaller than Whirlwind would have thought given the size of the hall and the house but it was comfortable. Across from the door was a blond haired pony at a desk. Her hair tied up in a perfect bun with not one hair out of place as she moved things around with her back turned to the door.
“Please have a seat. Would you like some water or coffee?” she asked.
“I am okay, but thank you.” Whirlwind said quietly as she walked to the couch and took a seat. She tapped her hooves and looked down at the carpet as a pair of hooves came into view in front of her.
“I’m Tough Love, Nice to meet you. What brings you here today?”
“My superiors want to have a sign off that I am okay to return to duty. They want to make sure that I am combat ready.”
“And do you feel you are combat ready?”
Whirlwind looked up at Tough Love for a moment. She was now sitting in a chair across from the couch with a pad of paper and pencil looking at her. Her bright green eyes showing through the lens of her glasses were soft and kind. The perfectly manicured mane trailed along the side of her face framing it tenderly while the rest was up in the bun. Her voice was gentle and kind as she asked the question, even still Whirlwind looked down at her feet once more and tapped her hooves together a bit more.
“I was trained from a foal to fight and I am one of the best so I have to be.”
“You seem very shy for a warrior.” Tough Love replied while scribbling down a couple notes.
“I’m not on duty.”
“Does that matter?”
“When I am on duty I can focus on that. I am doing my job”
“What about when you aren’t doing your job. Tell me about then.”
“I don’t really do much when I am off duty.” Whirlwind said in a mutter.
“You don’t go out with friends or squad mates?”
“Other ponies don’t like me.”
“What makes you think that? You have ponies who follow you in your squad and your family.”
“Growing up no one wanted to be around me much because I was bigger and stronger than everyone else. They always picked on me and made fun of my size. So I never really had friends and my squad has to follow me. I don’t know if they want to. They simply don’t have a choice. My family has their own lives and I would just be in the way.”
“Interesting.” Whirlwind could hear the pencil scratching at the page and didn’t know if she should speak or not. What firepower was she giving to this pony and would it keep her from resuming her duties?
“So on Duty you are more outgoing and have no issue interacting with other ponies?”
Whirlwind simply nodded her head and kept looking down at her hooves.
“So then what would make you need to have a sign off that you are ready for duty? Why do your superiors think you aren’t?”
“They are concerned I have lost my edge. I was injured and since they claim I hesitate to much and hesitation is a risk.”
“What happened and how badly were you injured?”
“I would rather not talk about it if it’s okay?” Whirlwind looked away out the window towards Canterlot in the distance.
“Very well, we will get there eventually. Do you hesitate like they claim?”
“I… don’t know. I make a decision and just go. It’s just…”
“Just what?” Tough Love stopped writing and focused on Whirlwind intently.
“I don’t want anyone to get hurt. Every time we do combat training I remember what happened and it causes me to freeze up and panic. I feel like we are all going to die even if it’s just training and I cant shake it.”
“Does this also effect you when you are off duty?”
“Sometimes I guess. I’m not really sure, when I am around a lot of people I am uneasy and have to get away from them and want to hide.”
“I think I can help you. It will take a little while, but in time I think we will be able to get you back to where you need to be and maybe even a bit more. I would like to see you each week for now it is okay with you?”
“Okay, I won’t have anything going on so that’s fine.” Whirlwind glanced over to Tough Love.
“Till next week then, same time. Just come in and have a seat. I will know when you get here.” Tough Love snickered a little as she got up and reached out her hoof.
Whirlwind shook her hoof as she stood and headed out toward the front door with her hooves clacking across the floor. She made her way to the garden and looked around as she strolled along taking a moment think about the session. It wasn’t to bad and Tough Love seemed really nice. Whirlwind glanced back and saw Tough Love looking out the window watching her as she walked away. As she left the grounds and began her trip back to Canterlot she thought about her injuries and the events that had occurred in her past. She was going to have to relive it in therapy but didn’t know if she could.
Whirlwind trotted through the garden on her way to the front door of the house. She had made sure to wear softer shoes than normal today determined to not make as much noise. Tough Love and her last session had been on her mind the whole week. Her words to her about making her better, the things she brought up, and her in general. Whirlwind blushed slightly as she moved forward thinking about her. The training had always kept her so busy she never had time to look at other ponies and she thought Tough Love was very beautiful. Whirlwind was a bit envious wondering if anyone ever thought of her in such way. Like the previous week the front door was open with the note to come in. As she stepped on the hardwood floor there was a much softer clack. She reached the carpet and sat down waiting for her session and looked through the array of magazines for something to read. Fashion magazines all covered with Rarity, of course, Social and Society magazines with articles like ‘how to please your stud’. She just decided to wait quietly as none of those things interested her in the least. Suddenly one caught her eye as she set the others down. It had a pony on the cover in leather and a male pony on his knees. It seemed like an odd magazine for a Therapists Office but it was better than the others. Whirlwind blushed as she flipped through seeing various images of ponies tied up, being whipped, and other forms of submission. She stopped to glance over an article titled ‘Putting Kink into Kinky, knot work and binding tips’. She blushed brightly at the content of this magazine and skipped through the pages.
“Someone had to have left this here by mistake.” She whispered to herself as she continued perusing it. She had never seen anything like this before and was a bit stunned and dismayed. She just didn’t know what to think of the things she was seeing. While it was disconcerting there was a bit of excitement going along with it. It was a feeling similar to the time she got her fathers sword to play with. The trouble she would have been in if she had been caught. Was she doing something wrong by reading this magazine? It was just a magazine after all. Tough Love poked her head out of her office and grinned for a moment seeing what magazine she was reading.
“Whirlwind, you can come on in. I am ready to see you.”
Whirlwind jerked in surprise and fumbled to put the magazine away. She awkwardly got to her feet and strolled over to the office door and followed tough love inside and walked to the couch where she had sat the last time.
“Would you like something to drink?” Tough Love asked as she walked over to the table and poured some water into a glass with a slight grin.
“Water please?” She replied without looking up.
Tough Love glided over the floor with grace and handed her the glass before sitting across. She pulled out her tablet and pencil, she glanced along her notes.
“How are you feeling today?”
“F-Fine.”
“Did you have a good week since our last session? Any important events I should know about?”
“Not really. I sat in my room most the week when I wasn’t in training.”
“You were in training? I thought you weren’t on duty?”
“I’m not allowed to work with my squad and do drills but I still practice my skills with my spear and exercise.”
Tough Love nodded and took down a few notes. “Did you think about our last session at all?” She asked looking back up from her notes.
“A bit.” She said as the blush returned to her cheeks.
“Good, I want you to think about our sessions and reflect on them. It will give you a chance to work through some of the things we will talk about.” Tough Love took a sip of her own water and continued. “Today I want to talk about you interacting with other ponies. I think you need to find a way to get to know others outside of just duty. You need to make friends and get out of your room. How do you feel about that?”
“I can’t do that. They aren’t interested in getting to know me and in the end they will probably just end up making fun of me.”
“Has anyone made fun of you recently?”
“Not to my face, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t.”
“I noticed the magazine you were looking at”
“What!?” Whirlwind said in shock. Had she seen what she was looking at? Why would she be bringing it up?
“I said that I noticed you mentioned training. Do they make fun of you in training?”
“No, but there isn’t really time for anything like that, we all do our jobs. Recently I am alone during it anyway.”
“Perhaps others won’t outside because you will be out with them doing things.”
“Maybe” she said as she glanced up shyly
“Did you like what you saw in the magazine?”
“Wait, No I wasn’t …”
“Weren’t what? Are you okay? You seem a bit distracted today. I asked if training went well.” Tough Love studied her a bit and scratched notes on her tablet.
“Oh! I think I am just tired. I have been having nightmares so I haven’t been sleeping to well.” Whirlwind was relived she didn’t actually ask about the magazine. It had to have been her imagination.
“How often are you having these nightmares? Are they events that happened or things your mind created?”
“They are memories of how I was injured. I don’t have them often, once or twice a week is all.”
“That’s good. Dreams are a good way for us to process through emotions without them interfering with our daily lives. I think you getting out some will help that even more though. So let’s talk about how we can get you out more. What kind of things do you like to do?”
“I really don’t have any hobbies, Reading I guess?” She shrugged.
“What kind of things do you like to read about?” Tough Love grinned slightly as Whirlwind began to blush again.
“Fantasy … I read a lot of fantasy books.”
“That’s good. There are a couple book groups at the library, you should see if you can attend one of their meetings.”
“I don’t know. Maybe.” She sipped from the glass Tough Love had given her. “I don’t know if I would be very comfortable there, I won’t know anyone.”
“So you would feel more comfortable going to an event with someone you know? Would you actually go to an event if there was someone you did know?”
“Maybe? I don’t know for sure.”
“Well let’s come back to that in a bit then. Have you thought anymore about talking about your injury?”
“Not really. Think about it I mean.” Whirlwind turned to look out the window toward the castle.
“You don’t have to tell me now, but it would possibly give me a better idea of how to help you. Is it related to the castle?” Tough Love asked. “Each time I ask about your injury you look that direction.”
Whirlwind let out a heavy sigh and turned to Tough Love. “I was injured in the castle. During the changeling attack. My squad and I were assigned to the throne room and protecting the princesses. When the changelings broke through we tried to get the them clear but some of my own men had been replaced by changelings and turned on us. I ordered the remaining ponies to get the princess’ out while I stayed behind to by time. I was injured holding the position and the changelings were going to finish me off but a wall collapsed over us and I got buried in the rubble. The changelings nearest to me took the bulk of the hit and it wasn’t until after the battle was over that another guard happened to hear me and got em dug out. I don’t remember much after I was pulled out other than waking bandaged in the hospital a couple weeks after the event. After my bones healed and I was able to get back on my feet the put me back on duty only to take me off again and sent me here.”
“I heard of the battle, Both of the princesses were okay so you were successful in what you did. It was very brave to take them on yourself. You should be proud of what you did.”
“I was doing what I was trained to do. My job is to protect them at all costs.”
“Well I think what you did was amazing and you should too. Is that where your scar came from?” Tough Love pointed with the back of her pencil to the scar on Whirlwinds nose.”
“Yes, one of the only external wounds I had from the battle.”
“So do you think you hesitate as you mentioned last time?”
“I don’t want anyone to go through what I did. I laid there under those rocks feeling the life drain from my body and staring at the face of a changeling who was buried with me but died on the spot. The amount of time laying there waiting to die in pain, being completely helpless.”
“You weren’t helpless, you were able to make noise and be found. There are times where you may feel helpless and unable to do anything but in fact you still have a great deal of ability.”
Tough Love placed her tablet and pencil on a small table next to the chair and moved to the couch beside Whirlwind. She placed her hoof on whirlwinds and looked her in the eyes with a targeted gaze. “Whirlwind, you need to get to know other ponies and if they have interests similar to yours it will make things much easier. I have an event coming up in a few days. Think of it as a get together and I would like you to come. There will be lots of ponies from other places. While it is centered on a theme, those there have a wide variety of interests. It would be really good for you to come and I think it might help you a bit.”
“I’ll think about it.” Tough Loves hoof was warm on hers and felt nice.
“The event will be Friday evening, it starts at 8PM but why don’t you come over at 6PM. That way you and I can talk a bit before everyone arrives and I can make sure you are comfortable.”
“O-Okay.”
“I hope to see you Friday then. If not then I will see you the same time next week if that is still okay?”
“Of course.” Whirlwind spoke as she watched Tough Love walk back to her seat and pull her tablet back to her lap.
“Good. Let’s stop there for today. I want you to think about this appointment and the event. Getting to know others will help you get out of your shell and gain some confidence. Your hesitation in leadership and unwillingness to get to know other ponies personally is linked to the rejection from when you were younger and getting injured in general. They hurt you with words and the changelings hurt you physically. So we will work on that Friday I hope. Does that sound good?
“I guess. I will have to think about it but I will try to come to the event. How should I dress for it? What kind of event is it?”
“Just come as you are now. If you wish to dress up some you can, but it’s not required for your first time by any means.” Tough Love stood with Whirlwind Spear and took the glass from her. “See you then.”
Whirlwind stood with Tough Love and walked out of the office with a nod and thought about whether she could bring herself to attend the event. The idea of seeing Tough Love outside of therapy was a nice thought, but other ponies. That thought scared her as she recalled other events with lots of others. They had never ended well and she didn’t know if she wanted to relive that again. She only had a few days to decide.
“I don’t know what to wear!” Whirlwind said frantically searching through her closet and dresser for something to wear. “This? Or maybe? No those won’t work. How about … to plain.” Item after item of clothing landed on the floor behind her. She was a practical pony and never went out anywhere so she never needed much in the way of dress clothing but she wanted to look better than she normally looked for the event.
“I guess there is this.” She heaved a deep sigh as she unhooked the black dress her mother had gotten hear. Her mom told her every mare needed a little black dress in case of a pinch when she had nothing else to wear. Whirlwind had never worn it and wasn’t used to wearing something quite as feminine as a dress. If she had to then she had to, it was her only real option. With her outfit selected she ran in to take a shower and get herself done up for the event before heading out to Tough Loves house.
Hurrying to Tough Love’s house Whirlwind stopped and looked into a pond lit by the path lights to check her makeup and hair before going up to the front door. She had tried something different and left her hair down instead of braiding it and she wasn’t used to wearing makeup and had to get her mom’s help. As with all mothers, she had hundreds of questions Whirlwind had to keep dodging and she was sure she would get many more later on. She trotted up to the door and found it closed. Knocking on the hard wooden door with her hoof and fidgeting a bit, she waited for Tough Love to answer. This was the first time the door had ever been closed and she wasn’t quite sure if she should knock, just go in, or something else. As she stood there looking around rethinking her decision to come when the door clicked and opened and a butler stood in the doorway. He was a handsome pony standing perfectly straight and proper with his chin slightly elevated. His mane and clothing flawless in presentation with not a speck of dust or wrinkle on any of his clothing.
“May I help you?” He asked in a deep dry voice.
“I ... I’m Whirlwind Spear, Tough Love asked me to be here at 6PM?” she replied in a shy timid voice. Tough Love had never had anyone else there she had seen so where did the butler come from? He stepped to the side and extended his arm as instructing to enter. Whirlwind stepped into the main hall but there was no carpet or chairs, the room was largely empty with decorations hanging from the ceiling with some food tables around the edges and on the grand staircase landing was a small setup for a band of some sort. She walked around staring at the decorations admiring how lovely the room was accented.
The butler startled her as he began to speak “Mistress Tough Love will be out shortly, please make yourself at home. The other guests have yet to arrive.” He said in a stodgy proper voice, almost stale and programmed.
He trotted off to one of the side doors and Whirlwind was left in the large hall. The house had taken on a whole new feel. It felt intense even though it had the same beauty and elegance to it. The bold colors almost repressed the softer elegance of the wood accents as if they were being squashed under foot. Whirlwind had last felt this level of intensity in combat but this had a kindness to it as well. Wandering the room and examining the decorations and floral arrangements in dark colors with light accents she felt she had at least chosen the right outfit. The black dress she had on would fit in with the dark colors of the room well enough and she could become invisible as she always did at ceremonies she had as a soldier.
“Don’t you look stunning tonight?” A feminine voice called out from the therapy room. “Come over here and let me see you.”
“It was the only thing I had. I hope it will be okay. I did ask what kind of event it was but you never said, so I didn’t know what to wear. You had said dress up if I wanted and since this wasn’t our normal therapy session I tried.” Whirlwind said as she walked over. Tough Love wasn’t ready at all, she had her mane and tail in a towel and a robe on. She circled around Whirlwind looking her over from top to bottom taking a moment to run her hoof over Whirlwinds wavy grape juice colored mane as she walked along her side. Tough Love made a complete circle and lifted her chin up to the light and ran her hoof along the scar on her nose. It wasn’t a large scar but one Whirlwind was very self-conscious of. It showed brightly against her natural gray coloring and the white on her nose. To her it may have well been a giant beacon but Tough Love just looked at her with a piercing gaze that made her uncomfortable in some ways and in other ways warm. She couldn’t pin down what the feeling was she could only divert her gaze. Something was very different with Tough Love tonight. She seemed stronger and more direct and she simply kept staring and grinning.
“Yes you did very well, you look absolutely delicious. You will get quite a bit of attention I am sure. We may have to do something to lessen that for your comfort. Come with me I want to talk to you before everyone arrives.” She turned and started walking to hallway. Whirlwind followed concerned about the event more with every step. “Tonight is a special event for my other business. It works in line with my day job, but it has some nuances that some wouldn’t understand and so it isn’t widely known. It is actually why I moved out here. Every pony where I used to live knew what I did and it made my therapy sessions suffer. This area is secluded and no one can get to nosy.” She explained as she turned into a bedroom with a large four post bed, lovely furnishing and an exotic dressing wall near a vanity adored with all sorts of beauty items. Tough Love went over to the vanity and took a seat and unwrapped her mane and began brushing it out while turning to watch Whirlwind.
“Please have a seat on the bed if you like.”
“What kind of event is this? What other business?” Whirlwind asked as she took a seat on the bed. The bed was unbelievably soft and she sunk down into it like it was a cloud. The bedding on it was soft silk fabrics with inlaid patters of other fabric. The bed was made of a purple wood that was polished to a shine and blended nicely into the maroon wall colors with the dark wood trim. A few pieces of metal were attached at various points of the bed with small metal rings. Perhaps so you could change the beds configuration in some way. Whirlwind’s eyes examined the room and the furnishings amazed at how they all flowed evenly before settling her eyes on Tough Love.
“Do you remember that magazine you were looking through at our last session?”
“I … I don’t.?” she blushed brightly and looked away trying to play like she didn’t remember anything about it. Tough Love laughed which made Whirlwind look back her way before she finished brushing out her mane and disappeared behind the dressing wall.
“The one with all the leather and bindings. I saw you looking through it when I called you in. This event is going to be around that topic and other associated things. There will be a variety of ponies coming, some who like to dominate others, and be dominated by others, Some like being bound, some like doing the binding. I run a therapy business here and my other business is a form of therapy that is based around sex and a release of inhibitions. Opening ponies experience through natural forms of excitement.” Whirlwind saw her rob flop over the top of the dressing wall as she continued. “I didn’t want to tell you exactly what the event is because I was worried you wouldn’t come tonight. I think tonight may help you quite a bit with a variety of your issues … and I just wanted to see you. Will you stay?” She asked in a soft flat tone making the question seem rhetorical and that regardless of her answer, Whirlwind would have to stay.
“I guess. I mean I have never seen anything like this so I don’t really know what to think. There won’t be anything bad that is going on will there?”
“Not really, there will be some that are likely to be dressed up in their roles but nothing really bad will go on. I would like you to do one thing for me though for your own safety.” Tough Love stepped out from behind the dressing wall in a leather outfit with leather stockings and long gloves. The top of her tail bound in a tight leather wrapping that caused it to hang farther back behind her. Whirlwind turned bright red seeing her, she looked amazing. The outfit covered her but was form fitting and open enough it caused her imagination to run wild. The look she had in her eyes made her feel like she was being hunted. Her heart fluttered like prey being spotted by a predator, it was exciting her and she couldn’t explain it at all. “I need you to wear this.” Tough Love held out a piece of leather with a metal ring on it with a grin.
“What is it?”
“It’s called a collar, it goes around your neck. You look so pretty tonight several of the dominant types will take an instant liking to you. This will keep them at bay. May I?” Tough Love asked as she approached her. Whirlwind nodded lightly in agreement.
“How will this keep them away? I thought I was supposed to meet people?” she asked.
“Not away, Just at bay” Tough Love responded with a chuckle as she leaned close putting the collar on Whirlwinds neck. Whirlwind could smell her scent the shampoo and soap she had used and it was intoxicating. Whirlwind could only take a deep breath and close her eyes as her heart raced. “H ... how does it keep them at bay?”
The collar finally clicked into place around her neck and was very tight to the verge of choking her and caused her neck muscles to strain against it slightly. Tough Loves warm breath was right next to Whirlwinds ear to see to put the collar on properly. Her nose brushed Whirlwind’s ear lightly as the warm air ran over it making her squeak lightly.
“It keeps them at bay as it shows you are owned.”
“Owned!? What do you mean owned?”
“By me. You are mine now.” Tough Loves voice took on a much more seductive tone as she ran her nose along Whirlwind’s cheek and took place in front of her and stared in her eyes closely with an intense piercing gaze once again. “I own you now … or thats what everyone will believe and so they won’t try to make advances on you. It will keep you safe.” she said as she ran her hoof over Whirlwinds new collar. Whirlwind gasped lightly and leaned forward kissing Tough Love without thinking. As their lips met one another she realized what she had done and pulled away quickly and looked down blushing brightly. Tough Love lifted her chin and pulled her closely in by the ring on her collar and touched their noses together and kissed her back with a deep and impassioned kiss. Whirlwind began to relax as she drifted from the initial shock into the warmth of the moment as Tough Love pulled away from the kiss and stared into Whirlwind’s eyes.
“Are you mine? Do you give yourself to me for tonight?” Tough Love asked.
Whirlwind looked at her with fear and excitement in her eyes. Her body quivered and her throat closed on her for a moment. She couldn’t look away from Tough Loves gaze. She couldn’t resist her behaving like this. What was coming over her?
“Y … Yes. I’m yours.” She muttered out.
Tough Love kissed her deeply for a moment and whispered in her ear “That’s ‘Yes Mistress’.”
“Yes Mistress.” Whirlwind answered. Tough Love laid her back on the bed a bit and kissed her once more before backing off and watching Whirlwind’s reaction.
“Good Girl, now go wait for me out in the office. I will come get you when I am ready.” She ordered.

Whirlwind sat in the office on the couch she used during therapy as her mind raced over what happened. She felt around the collar and found it had a lock on it and couldn’t be removed. What if Tough Love refused to remove it? How would she go back to her command with it around her neck? Fear and confusion filled her as she watched the guests begin to arrive for the event. She couldn’t see them well over the bushes from the window so making out who they were was impossible. Whirlwind tugged at the collar again as her anxiety increased. She got up and began to pace lost in her thoughts. What if everyone made fun of her? She was stuck with this collar on. Owned by Tough Love, What did that mean exactly? What did she do to her to get her to agree? She had her own command, how could she be owned, why would she agree to that?
She kept stroking the collar as she stared down at the floor lost in her thoughts. The main hall was beginning to take on the sounds of voices, laughter and all the sounds you would expect from a party. Whirlwind hoped that there would be no one there that she may know. Someone she knew recognizing her would be horrible and word would travel fast. The collar would be spread all over Canterlot and the Guard Corps, the comments and whispers would last her entire life. The Guard Captain who would be Owned by another… such a title would ruin her entire career. Tough Love came into the room her hair all meticulously placed and groomed, her makeup dark and intense as the leather she had on her body. A riding crop floating behind her from her magic and obeying every command she gave it.
“Are you ready Whirlwind? Come over here.” She said in a strict voice and swatted the crop on her leg.
“I don’t know. I don’t know what to think.” She began pacing along the carpet.
Another crack rang out “Come here now!” She said in a more aggressive voice that shook Whirlwind and got her attention. She followed the order and walked over. Tough Love ran the crop along her cheek and walked along her side dragging it across her skin. “What is it that you don’t know about?”
“Everything. You owning me, the collar you have on me, the party, what happened in your room…”
A loud crack came from the crop and a piercing shot of pain from Whirlwinds flank. Causing her to jump a little bit and her tail to raise in shock. Then she felt Tough Loves hoof over the stinging skin rubbing it slightly.
“It’s simple Whirlwind. You Are Mine. I own you and you are mine to do with as I please. Yours is to do my bidding and please me.”
Whirlwind felt a strange feeling inside her. Feeling Tough Loves gloved hoof on her flank caused her heart to race and her temperature to raise. She didn’t understand what her body was telling her, she was in pain but her body was excited and she couldn’t get her tail to lower. It was as if Tough Love had cast some sort of spell on her and had control over her body and could make to do as she wished.
“But I am a warrior and a commander in the Royal Guard!” She exclaimed before another loud crack and shot of pain came over her causing her to whimper lightly.
“Not tonight.” Tough Love walked to her front and grabbed her by the ring on the collar. “You are relieved of duty, you are mine tongiht. I own you and you will submit to me won’t you? You will give yourself to me willingly and fully and live for my desires.” She said in a stern yet tender voice and again Whirlwind was stunned by her gaze and intensity and unable to resist her will.
“Yes Mistress” she said without thinking. Shocked at herself she clasped her mouth as the words escaped. Tough Love grinned and patted her head.
“Good Girl, Now we are going to join our guests. Stay beside me the entire night. If you wish for something you will asked me and follow with ‘Mistress’, is that understood?”
“Yes.”
“Yes Mistress!” Tough Love swatted her with the crop again harder causing her to leap a bit.
“YES MISTRESS!”
“Should someone address you directly you are free to chat with them and enjoy yourself, however you must remember to always be ready to follow me without a words notice.”
“Yes Mistress.”
“That’s better. Don’t forget that part. I don’t tolerate disobedience.” Tough Love turned and walked toward the door to the hall. Whirlwind followed as she had been ordered. Her body still tense and excited by this side of Tough Love. It was driving her crazy and she didn’t know why. Everything about this went against her being and everything she had been taught yet it was incredibly exciting.
When the door opened the room was filled with ponies talking and laughing, enjoying themselves. The ones closest to the door all bowed and greeted Tough Love following the greeting with ‘Mistress’. Did she own all of these ponies as well? Many didn’t have collars and eyed Whirlwind as she passed them following Tough Love causing her to feel a bit uncomfortable. Some of the ponies were dressed in leather and latex outfits, some had collars and leashes, some with just collars and being completely subservient to the one who was with them. Was this how she was supposed to act with Tough Love? She couldn’t behave in such a way, she has been trained to lead her whole life!
“Wait right here and do not move. If someone talks to them you may talk but you are to stay in this spot until I return.” She pointed with her crop and without thinking about it Whirlwind walked to the spot and stood right where she had pointed.
Tough Love walked up the grand staircase to a landing that overlooked the hall standing before the microphone. “Welcome every pony to our gathering. You all know me, but many of you don’t know one another. The point of this gathering is to let you all get to know one another, you all have shown a flare for my alternative treatments and this is the next step. Learning you are not alone and that it is okay to live, to have desires and wants and have them fulfilled. You all get that through different means, but you all have to learn that it is okay. This night is for you to celebrate what you have learned and how far you have come. Enjoy yourselves and everything there is to offer.”
The audience erupted in applause as Tough Love ushered the musicians to the microphone to begin their set and bowed before descending the stairs with an elegance and grace. She was a stunning sight. You would have thought she was royalty with how she handled the ponies and how they all responded to her, they adored her. Reaching the base of the stairs Tough Love motioned for Whirlwind to return to her side and she began wandering through the crowd introducing Whirlwind to people from all over but dominating the conversation. Whirlwind did as she was instructed and followed Tough Love and remained at her side all evening. If she needed something she would wait and ask always sure to end with mistress. She talked to various ponies who were curious about her. Some of her answers were vague as she was still uncomfortable but they were still interested in hearing what she had to say. She watched the others who were in a similar situation and had collars and tried to emulate them a bit which seemed to be what she was supposed to be doing. Tough Love would just smile at her softly with her ever piercing gaze which peered right into her heart. She seemed pleased when she would do the correct things following the queues from observing the others.
As the evening went Whirlwind had begun behaving more and more like the others and had begun doing it because she wanted to. Whenever she did things right Tough Love would smile to her and be attentive. Whirlwind wanted to keep her smiling so she would do exactly as she needed to. She didn’t quite know why she was willing to do it, but it seemed natural. Perhaps because she had lived her life in a family that was military. Everyone had to take orders from someone and being owned by Tough Love was just like being under the command of one of the Generals. Maybe this wasn’t going to be that bad after all.
By the end of the evening Whirlwind found herself standing tall and being a bit more comfortable in the crowd of ponies. No pony had made fun of her or looked at her oddly because she was so tall or because she had the collar hooked to her neck. She was being treated like everyone else, with the same respect. Tough Love had taken time to pet her and touch her off and on gently which would send lightning through her body exciting her heavily. She was beginning to like the feelings it gave her. It felt nice to have someone who wanted her with them and showed it even if it was only periodic. The time between displays made them even more enticing and sought after. Tough Love was bidding her guests a farewell as the night wound to an end and they bowed to her and Whirlwind until the last one was gone and the room was silent again.
“Whew. What a night. How do you feel?”
“I feel nice… I mean, I feel nice Mistress.”
“I’m glad you enjoyed yourself Whirlwind. I had hoped you would.” She pulled Whirlwind to her and kissed her with a soft and tender kiss that made Whirlwind blush again. Whirlwind placed her hoof on the collar felt along it. “Can we maybe leave it till therapy, Mistress?” Whirlwind asked.
“Of course, if you are sure.”
“I don’t know but we will see. I can always come and have you remove it right?”
“Yes you can. If you are tired you’re welcome to stay the night here.”
“N-no that’s okay. I need to check in. I will see you at our normal therapy time.” Whirlwind said blushing brightly. She didn’t know why but in the moment she could have had it removed she didn’t want to. Tough Love gave her a kiss on the cheek and Whirlwind headed out the door to head home. Tough Love watched her with a smile on her face until she was out of clear sight of the light and closed the door.
Whirlwind walked along the road to her appointment with Tough Love. The night of the event had ran through her mind all week long keeping her awake at night. Warm thoughts kept her mind running down all sorts of paths and an almost giddy feeling every time she touched the collar at her neck. She managed to keep it hidden as she left the castle to go to therapy but now she was away from the area she had it in the open on displayed. She had stayed in all week to minimize people having the chance of seeing it, but the realization now made her feel a bit silly for thinking that way. She felt she had been over analyzing things and it caused her to sit idle. Arriving at Tough Love’s front door she found it open as always and the hall was back to what it normally was. Tough Love must have spent days cleaning up after the event and getting everything back to normal. Whirlwind took a seat to wait for her appointment and flipped through the magazines, but the one she had looked through the previous time wasn’t in the stack. If not for the collar she may have thought it was a dream but she had the collar pressing lightly on her flesh as a constant reminder. On queue Tough Love poked her head out of her office.
“Come on in, I am ready for you now.” She said as she ducked back into her office. Whirlwind got up and trotted into the office and sat down on the couch with a slight smile as she waited for Tough Love to get settled.
“How are you feeling today, Whirlwind?”
“Better than I have in a long time. You must have been cleaning up all week.”
“No actually I went to bed shortly after you left, and had a normal week. I had staff to handle it, they took care of everything. An event like that you need a number of ponies to make it happen. I am glad you are feeling well today. Are you ready for the collar to come off?”
“Well about that. Can we talk more about what exactly that means first? When you had it put on, the other night, I didn’t know what I would do to keep it covered, but I know I can keep it hidden with my hair down. So I shouldn’t have much issue hiding it from the princesses.”
“What would you like to know exactly?”
“Well what does being yours mean? All of those other ponies were calling you mistress and they didn’t all have collars. What’s the difference between the two?” Whirlwind asked as she looked over at Tough Love.
“They called me Mistress as a title. I am Mistress of the house. In the case of one who is owned, I would be their Mistress. As you would call you superior by their title.”
“I guess that is why I ended up being okay with it. I felt like I was doing nothing more than following my training and doing as my superior told me. So I guess it just felt comfortable.”
“How did you feel about taking my orders?”
Whirlwind looked at Tough Love who was scratching at her pad of paper with the pencil. “Well, I liked it because it was you and it was by choice. I have no problems following the orders of my commanders, but that is something you have to do.”
“Being mine means a few things Whirlwind, most of all it means that you will continue to follow my instructions. Right now it was only to protect you from the other dominants that were present at the party. You looked so lovely that I knew they would have tried to convince you to go with them in an instant. I don’t think you are quite ready for that yet and it was a good way for you to get some of your confidence back. If you do wish to stay mine and have our sessions go more into the nature of my other business we should discuss it more.”

It isn’t something that you can just walk away from. There will be a bond between us that is very strong and could hurt us both. So you have to be sure of what you want. I will gladly take you as mine but only if you are sure.”
“I really enjoyed being yours that night. I enjoyed us before the party. I enjoyed everything about that night. I just don’t know what to expect or how to know if I am sure? This is so new to me.”
Tough Love continued to rub her cheek softly and Whirlwind closed her eyes and tilted her head to her hoof and rubbed her cheek into the hoof. Tough Love dropped her hoof and stood up walking toward the door to the hallway.
“Come with me then.” Tough Love said headed back into the hallway leading Whirlwind back to her room. Closing the door behind them, Tough Love pulled Whirlwind to her and kissed her deeply as she drew the crop over to her.
“You enjoyed this too?” She asked as Whirlwind nodded in a daze before being shook out of it by the sharp pain of the crop and the sharp crack it made on her flank. “And that?” She asked again as she caressed Whirlwinds flank where she had raised a small welt.
“Yes Mistress.” Whirlwind replied, once again her body immediately responding to Tough Loves actions and her tail raised as her muscles began tensing up and her breath got heavy. She still wasn’t sure how Tough Love could do this to her but she didn’t care, she was beginning to crave it. She cooed lightly as Tough Love cracked the crop on her again. She lead Whirlwind over to the bed and pressed her to her back as Tough Love took her place above her kissing her deeply. Running her hooves over her body and caressing her lightly. Whirlwind heard a click near her neck and then another and opened her eyes to find her collar was bound to the bed. She couldn’t lift her head more than an inch or two off the mattress. She struggled for a moment until Tough Love kissed her again and she relaxed.
“Be calm, I am going to test you and see if you are certain you wish to be mine.” Tough Love said as she hooked Whirlwinds front hooves together and then her hind ones linking them to the bed as well. Whirlwind was unable to move more than to roll around but never leave more than a few inches off the bed. Whirlwind now understood the point of the metal attachments on the bed. They were to restrain Tough Love’s lover so that she could do as she wished to them. Her heart was pounding and felt it may leave her chest.
