This world is too kind, it's citizens are too nice, too...Innocent. They deserve to know fear and a taste of death.
And I'm just the thing to do it...
It was a quiet night at Fluttershy's cottage. The night was cool and a gentle breeze groped past her house as she lay inside nestled up to her favorite animal companion. Discord was out on business with the princesses and that gave Fluttershy time to get some rest. The small bunny nuzzled against her soft, yellow fur and lay there, peaceful. If only they knew what lay just inside the forest.
The Everfree forest was unforgiving, unkind. The forest was in much a way, alive. It provided life, but also took it away. A distant howl erupted into the night as the full moon shined upon it. A pack of three timberwolves blew past the trees chasing after their prey. Their jaws hungrily snapping as they dashed around tree after tree, their prey bobbing and weaving, it's tiny heart pumping into overdrive as it struggled to run away.
Just when it thought it was going to get away from them, It hit a wall of trees bunched so closely together that not even the small stature of the creature could squeeze through. It scrambled, trying to look for a way through but couldn't, when it heard the unmistakable growl of the pack behind it. The pack stopped, fifteen feet away from their rightful prey. The tiny creature pressed itself against the wall of trees, trying it's best to stay away but it was no use. One of the timberwolves growled before jumping at the prey. When all of a sudden, there was a crackling and popping noise as the space between the wolves and the prey was filled by a red light, The light raised and suddenly hit the ground where the timberwolf stood.
The red orb touched the ground and gave off a loud boom as it fizzled out, leaving behind a large figure. The timberwolf that had lunged now lay at the new figures feet, it's upper half turned to ash and the rest singed and glowing orange and smoking. The figure slowly stood up, reaching into his dark gray jacket and pulling out a serrated machete. The remaining timberwolves saw this new being and began growling showing no remorse for their fallen comrade. Their wooden teeth were shown and they were ready to attack. The prey decided to take this as a chance and ran off into the night, safe for another day.
The being looked down at the wolves and stared, his new form not making any movements. The wolves split up, going on both sides of him. But before they could even pounce, the new figure brought the machete down on the first wolf, the machete sticking into the head of the wolf and slamming it's head to the ground. The other wolf pounced and landed on the beings back, sinking it's jaws into it's neck. The bite doing nothing as the figure reached behind and grabbed the timberwolf, slamming it into the ground with such force that it not only destroyed the timberwolf, but shook the ground. The yellow aura that connected the wood together was sucked away into the chest of the new being. It's eyes glowed yellow as the last timberwolf got up, the machete still in it's head. The being reached and grabbed the machete, ripping it out and causing the timberwolf to yelp and run away. The being, now the hunter, looked towards where the timberwolf left off and began walking towards it. The aura of energy coursed through it's veins, bringing with it strength and energy.
"More..." It's low voice was grisly and demonic.
It chased the timberwolf for a few minutes before noticing a light outside the forest. He walked towards it and left the forest, but he noticed something about this area. It was nice and pure. There was nothing wrong with it. It was in a way, the complete opposite of the forest where he had arrived. He had a new feeling that grew inside his body. A new feeling that disturbed him. It was peace. He hated this new world and hated everything in it. He looked towards the light and noticed a small cottage. But even more so, he felt a great power inside it. One he couldn't feel from inside the forest. The forest was unkind, yet this new force was kind, kind to the point of where it was utterly sickening. He let out a grunt as he started walking towards the cottage.
He knew what he had to do.
Fluttershy layed down with angel bunny and started dosing off when she heard something hit the window. She yelped, jumping into the air and behind the couch. Angel bunny jumped off the couch, grabbing a small butter knife. Fluttershy's heart was beating out of her chest and she looked out the window to see what hit it. Outside was nothing but the tree next to the house. A gust of wind hit the tree, causing a tree branch to hit the window again. She calmed her self letting out a sigh of relief. "Sorry Angel, it was just the wind." Angel dropped the knife and hopped back up onto the couch and layed there, signaling Fluttershy to come back to snuggle. "Oh, sorry about that angel, let me just settle down." She slowly laid back down on the couch and pushed angel bunny up to her chest. He nuzzled in when another knock was heard at the side of the house followed by several more harder knocks. Fluttershy looked up, concerned. "That must be the wind again." She looked down at angel bunny. "I hope Harry is ok out there."
There was a hard knock at the door that made Fluttershy jump a little bit. "Who could be here at this hour?" Fluttershy got up off the couch, much to Angel's dismay and opened the curtain to look out. There was nothing there but she noticed an object on the ground outside the door. "Hmm?" She looked back at angel. "Angel, someone dropped a package on our door step." She went to open the door when Angel noticed something move outside the kitchen window. He went in to investigate.
Fluttershy opened the door and screamed. There on her porch was the head of Harry, her bear companion. His eyes were gouged out of the sockets and his tongue was ripped out, blood still dripping from his mouth and eyes. She threw her self onto the door, trying to get away but noticed something wet on her side, She looked at the door and saw blood splatter. She then looked at her side. it was covered in blood. She hunched herself over and spewed the content's of her dinner on the floor. She got up and slammed the door and ran to the bathroom. Turning on the sink and trying to wash the blood off. Tears fell down her face as she began hyperventilating. She tried her best to wash it off, but the stains were still there.
Angel bunny looked out the kitchen window and looked towards where the figure had gone. He couldn't see it anymore. Angel ran upstairs and looked out those windows to get a better vantage point. He looked through the windows and saw nothing. He then looked through the other window and saw something reach up onto the roof, He looked closely and saw a long object appear followed by something much bigger. Angel bunnies ears laid back as he saw the creature come into full view, it was huge, It's expression laid bare. It walked up towards the window and stared in at Angel. It grabbed the top of the house and pulled it's foot back. Angel squeaked and jumped behind the bed. The sound of broken glass and the grunt was all the rabbit needed before he was at the creatures chest, trying to scratch it. He had to protect fluttershy, protect her at all costs. The being tried to hit angel, but angel scurried up to it's neck and bit down as hard as he could. The being didn't even flinch. It reached up, grabbing angel bunny and squeezing him, his back popped, and Angel let out a painful squeak.
Fluttershy heard the commotion and ran upstairs to make sure Angel bunny was alright. She got up the stairs and screamed. There it was, the creature that killed Harry. He had a long, thin object in his hand and a smaller white object in his other. Fluttershy recognized the small white object in his hand and screamed. "ANGEL BUNNY!!" The creature lifted his hand and threw angel against the ground, his body bouncing back up from the force. Fluttershy screamed, tears falling from her face. "ANGEL, NOO!!" The small rabbit began trying to drag himself towards futtershy, squeaking in pain as his back legs hanging limp behind him. Fluttershy was about to pick up Angel but the creature lifted its foot, bring it down on Angel's head. His head was crushed as bits of brain and blood spewed everywhere. Blood and bits of brain splattered across Fluttershy's face as she just stared at Angel's corpse. His small body began to spasm as the creature rubbed his boot against the floor, wiping the floor with bits of blood, brain and reddened white fur. Fluttershy threw up on the floor and looked up at the creature, it's cold eyes staring back at her. She felt weak, her body felt like it was going to drop. She didn't cry and she didn't scream, she was too shocked.
"A-A-Angel..."
The being saw this and reached down, grabbing her by the neck. Fluttershy snapped out of her stupor and began screaming again. There was no one else to help her, she was completely alone. "ANGEL, ANGEL, YOU KILLED ANG-" She was interrupted by a punch to the face. She couldn't see out her right eye and felt another jab hit her in the ribs before she was thrown down the stairs. The air was knocked out of her as she hit the wall. She slowly looked up the stairs and saw the creature slowly advancing towards her.
The creature spoke in a low, demonic tone. "Where. is. it??"
She didn't answer, The only thing that went through her brain was the thought to run. She slowly got up, her left back hoof shooting pain up her hind leg. She limped towards the door and reached for the handle. She opened the door and slowly made her way out the door. She could taste freedom as she exited the cottage, only to have it ripped away from her as she was grabbed by her bad leg and dragged back inside, only to be whipped into the wall. She screamed as tears fell down her face. She hit the ground and heard a crack, what the wall had started, the floor finished as she could not move her, now warped, wing.
The creature grabbed her and kneeled down, slamming her spine against his knee, her lower back cracking into pieces as the lower half of her body went limp. She screamed in pain as she was then thrown to the ground. Even though her eyesight was failing, she could still try and make it. She began crawling for the door and almost made it when she was pulled back again. The creature held her to his chest and whispered in her ear. "The Pendant, where is it?" He said. She knew exactly what he was talking about. But she couldn't just let her necklace fall into his hand. As much as she wanted to, she couldn't tell him, even if it meant the pain would stop. He grabbed his machete and pressed her against the wall, and placed the machete to her throat. "WHERE IS THE PENDANT?!" He screamed in her face, this terrified and almost on impulse, she pointed upstairs. He dropped her and went upstairs, opening each drawer and throwing it around. with one hand he lifted the bed, flipping it across the room. He saw a little brown box on the ground. He picked up the box and opened it, revealing the pink element of kindness necklace. He took his machete and pried the rock out of the golden necklace and felt around it. He put it to his chest and the rock slowly faded to gray as he dropped it to the ground. He felt the new power flow through him, slowly corrupting and changing. He felt stronger than before, but there was a restriction, as if something was holding him back. He realized what it was almost immediately.
He then walked downstairs and saw Fluttershy on the ground, her left wing flapping as she tried to help herself move in any way she could. She heard the footsteps and immediately stopped moving, perhaps if she stopped trying to get away, he would spare her and she could get the help of her friends.
He came down the stairs and he looked her in the eyes. Those beautiful, green eyes. He felt nothing, not a single shed of remorse. He brandished his machete and slowly began walking towards her. "No, please." Fluttershy pleaded. "Please, I don't want to die."
He slowly brought up his machete above his head. "Your soul is mine now." His voice sounded slightly less demonic and more demented as if it actually enjoyed what it was doing.
Fluttershy screamed as the machete was brought down on her head, slicing through her skull and into her brain. Her screaming stopped, but she was still alive, she started convulsing and drooling. A low gurgle escaping her throat. Blood fell down her face as she stared at him. He yanked the machete out, pulling her body across the floor. He then hit her again, this time, the machete coming across her neck. Blood spurted everywhere as he pulled the machete out for another blow, this strike completely severing the head. He felt her life force drain into him. As it did, he felt her fear, he felt her pain and it was delicious. He could feel her screaming inside of him as he hacked at her body. He then grabbed her body by the tail and put it against the wall, forcing his machete through her corpse and out the wall on the other side. He then grabbed her head, throwing it in the furnace and stared at it, the fur and flesh turning a blackish red before peeling off. The smell of burning hair was like roses to his unholy nostrils. He stopped staring and exited the cottage, the smell of the morning air flowing through his nostrils as he got another feeling, he felt even more power and looked over and saw a farm a few miles out surrounded by trees. He started his way back towards the forest where he would rest until his next kill.
