Chase the Night

What is a dream except a collection of our worst fears and greatest joys brought forward into the depths of our own subconscious, where we can live our wildest fantasies we wouldn't otherwise be able to experience. A world where wonders of the imagination can flourish, where forces of good and evil do battle.

Soaring high above the clouds in the clear night sky, in stunning formation with the Wonderbolys. Flying at the point of the formation, in unison they performed intricate aerial maneuvers. High speed loops and barrel rolls threatened to tear the very feathers from the acrobats very wings as they soared through the air.

"And now for the peace dé resistancė" Rainbow exclaimed, soaring straight up into the air.

Closing her eyes, she let herself fall and instinctively began flapping her wings. Faster and faster as the wind screamed behind her, forming a cone of wind and light in front of her hooves.

"Just a bit faster!" She thought to herself, her wings ached, the force of wind and gravity, though completely imaginary were pushing against her. Then it happened, a circle of rainbow light exploded outwards as the Wolderbolts encircled underneath her.

She fell farther and faster, colors changed, shifted as the clouds of the night sky changed. It looked as though she was falling into some sort of room and then nothingness, Rainbow crashed hard.

Groaning as she opened her eyes, vision blurred and her head throbbed as she fought back the urge to vomit. When she tried to stand up she discovered she was stuck, and the sound of rattling metal caught her ear. Turning her head over she peered at her hoof and then to the other.

"What the hell?!" She screamed, fighting harder to try and get her hooves out of the shackles and then suddenly aloud clank as a larger shackle was locked in place around her neck, a sharp scalpel dragged across her cheek. "Hello Dashie" Pinkie said cheerfully, slowly cutting Rainbow across her stomach.

"Welcome to your worst nightmare..." She laughed.
