My Little Reclaimer: Friendship Never Dies
On deployment to assist Red and Blue Teams in defending Reach from its inevitable fall, Green Team and the Frigate transporting them, the Aurora Star, is befallen by a tragic Slipspace accident. As a result, Green Team finds themselves in the very real, very distant Equus System with only a disabled ship, the limited weapons and supplies on board, and their wits and training at their disposal.
Unbeknownst to them, the Covenant Cruiser Truth Behind All Lies has arrived and made first contact, seeking a set of Forerunner Artifacts that would seal Humanity's doom in short order, paving the way for Truth's plans to begin the Great Journey.
Fates collide as fighting breaks out between the UNSC and Covenant forces, trying Princess Twilight Sparkle's resolve as she's faced with the ultimate friendship problem: one race that wants nothing more than the death of their mortal foes, and one race that's willing to fight to the last man for their right to survive. Will she be able to foster the impossible friendship amidst a war of Xenocidal proportions? Or will she be forced to admit that sometimes the only answer is sacrifice?
Regardless, one thing remains true: Spartans never die; they just go Missing in Action...
Interesting side note, this story doesn't have an editor, meaning that I'm having to iron out the kinks as I go along, often while looking back as I pen another chapter. It's actually being written as a part of National Novel Writing Month, and its page can be found here. Being that guy that jumps straight into playing the campaign on Legendary (some, but not all, skulls on), I decided to add an additional level of challenge to the task, quickly editing and then publishing my novel here as I write it. Ergo, please have patience if things don't read perfectly, and feel free to point out any glaring errors in the comments (two people already did with lore-breakers; my thanks go out to you, Spartans); it helps, considering I'm one person writing and editing a novel on my own as I go along.
While it is not necessary to read Eric Nylund's novels to understand some of the lore that will be referenced, all are good books and recommended reads.
This story is based on a Rated M video game, but has been toned down to fit a T Rating in accordance with EQD's fiction submission rules. Reader discretion is still advised, though.
12/07/2017 - Maybe not a proper appearance, but picked up by EQD (thanks to being submitted as part of NaPoWriMo): http://www.equestriadaily.com/2017/12/napowrimo-2017-winners-participants.html
