"Spike, I am going to Canterlot for a week to help Cadence and Shining Armor with the baby!" Spike had been sleeping all day, he had helped Twilight pack all night.
"Wuh, what? Yeah, alright. See ya later Twilight!" Spike said in an exhausted tone.
"Alright Spike, please watch over the place!" Twilight left in a hurry. She really wanted to help with Flurry Heart. She had went shopping the day before and found a new stuffed animal for her.
"So, I am all by myself. What am I supposed to do now?" Spike said aloud. He wandered the halls for a bit, not being able to find anything to do. He tried to make some cookies to snack on, he accidentally burnt them while he was sneezing. He tried activating the map, he almost fell face first on it trying to do so. He had already read all of his comics, and was waiting for a new one to come out. Then it hit him.
"If I can't see the comic book now, Ill go to the future and read it!" Along the way he started thinking.
"Maybe I shouldn't mess with Twilight's spells, they could be dangerous. But then again, the new power ponies comic is said to release a new villain!" Spike walked up to the door to the library and pushed it open. The library was massive, especially to a baby dragon. There were so many books, Spike didn't know where to start!
"Wait a minute, I'm a dragon, not a unicorn! What was I thinking!"
"Wait a minute spike, you are the great assistant of Twilight Sparkle, the princess of friendship. If she can do anything, so can you!" So Spike searched the entire library. It took him hours.
"Darn it, I'll never find a book that could have a time travel spell for me!" There was one shelf left. But this shelf wasn't like the others. Twilight had told spike to never touch that shelf, for it held a great evil.
"Lets look there!" Spike thought.
Spike managed to look through all of the books on this shelf, and he managed to find something. This book was black, with red gems on the corners of the cover and back. And it had a skull straight in the middle of the book with huge rubies in the eye holes.
"This is the only book it could be." Spike said aloud. So Spike breathed in a couple of times, and then huzzah!
Nothing happened. The book had nothing in it. all except for one thing, some words written on the front page. So spike assumed this would be the spell that would do what he wanted. But he still had some hesitation.
"Alright, here we go!" He started to read the words aloud to himself.
"Beedum Bam Zala, Azun En Ayy, Ringum Hi Cumma Hi Ping, Beedum Bam Zala, Azun En Ayy!" As he read the words, purple shadow engulfed him, and all of a sudden, he was sucked into a strange portal.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" Spike yelled while spinning around and around in a vortex. Then, all of a sudden, he was in the Golden Oak library.
"Oh no! I went back in time! I meant to go forward! That's alright, ill just read the spell backwards!" He looked at the book, and now it was just a normal book. And it was ruined.
So Spike started to panic. He started running around screaming. All of a sudden, A figure came running down the stairs towards the screaming. He then knew a way out of this, He would ask Twilight for help! So he called to the figure.
"Hey Twilight, I kinda need your help. You see, i'm future spike, and..." All of a sudden, the figure came into view.
It looked like Twilight, but something seemed off. Her hair was off color, and her cutie mark was upside down.
"Twilight, are you alright?" Spike said in confusion. The figure then put a spell field around Spike and the book, and literally threw him through the roof of the library so high up he looked like an ant if you were standing in Cloudsdale.
Again, screaming like a little filly, he was falling through the sky (Which at this point he was all to familiar with) at high speeds. He was terrified. In the back of his mind he was reflecting and thinking.
" Why would Twilight do this? We've known each other for so long, now I could die because of her!"
As he was getting closer to the ground, he started to pass out. He could see the ground now, it seemed he would land somewhere between Sweet Apple Acres and Ponyville. But, in the distance, he could see the mountain were Canterlot sits upon. He could actually see it well. Well enough to see that there was no Canterlot on the side of that mountain. Then, all of a sudden, before he hit the ground, an orange figure jumped in and caught him before he landed face first onto the ground.
He was starting to wake up, not by himself though, somepony was shaking him awake.
"Wake up!" It was the voice of a young mare. Accept he knew this mare. It was Scootaloo. Accept it wasn't. This mare had the same hair, the same color, and the same eyes. But the cutie mark was different. This cutie mark was a pair of wings, and no shield. Plus she was older. And most of all, she had a horn instead of wings. The horn was scarred.
"Scootaloo?!?" Spike said in shock.
"How do you know my name?" Scootaloo said. She looked puzzled.
"How do you not know me? We have been friends forev..." Then he realized something. This isn't his Equestria. This is the exact opposite.
"Wait, Scootaloo. I am not from here. I am from another Equestria. One that isn't like this. I need to get back. I need a unicorn. Apparently here, you are a unicorn."
"Are you crazy!?! I don't even know you! You are a dragon for darn sake! Why should I even help you? No one here helps anyone. And I guess you are gonna have to learn that for yourself!!!" Scootaloo argued to Spike. Spike then had a great idea. He would trick Scootaloo into trying to shoot him with a spell, and make it hit the book. He thought this could work.
"Then why did you save me?" Spike asked. Scootaloo looked at him, confused.
"Well, I... I just did okay? You are a baby dragon after all. I didn't want that on my conscience. Not that I have one..." Spike knew she was being honest.
"How did all of this happen, I mean the world being terrible like this?" Spike asked in a caring tone.
"Long ago, in a far land west of Equestria, came a storm. This storm was big enough to cover all of Equestria in its dark clouds. As it came along, Cloudsdale sent flight crews to go take care of it. But this was no normal storm. This storm contained pure evil, and nothing more. Everypony in the flight crews came back with a new feature with them, but when the new features came, old features went. But one managed to stay which each of them. Hatred. You can see what it has done to me..."
"Please, that's enough. I understand." Spike managed to say before she continued. He was starting to think maybe he wouldn't have to trick her after all. Just then, a voice came from the outside. He realized where they were. The CMC clubhouse.
"Open up! We know you are in there! And we know you are harboring a dragon!"
"Oh, and I forgot to mention, everyone believes dragons caused the storm!" Spike knew he was in trouble now.
"You have about ten seconds before we burn down this shack!" The guard yelled again.
"Scootaloo, shoot this book with some magic!" Spike held the book that Scootaloo had saved with spike.
"Wha, What? What do you mean? That's just a stupid book! Plus my horn has never worked!" She yelled in a stage of panic.
"Trust me, it's what brought me here! Just do it!" Spike yelled back.
"Alright we are coming in!" Yelled the guard as he chucked a torch at the clubhouse.
"Alright, I guess there is no turning back at this point!" She yelled. She tried to do a spell. Her horn just flickered.
"I can't Spike!" She said in a sad tone.
"Try again!" Yelled spike. The guards started coming through the door.
"Stop now!" Yelled the guard. All of a sudden, with an insane amount of power, she shot out a beam of light out of her horn, and engulfed the book in a magic light. The book became two books, one looks like the jeweled book and the other the blank one spike came here with.
Not only did Scootaloo's spell do that, it caused a magic shield to form around them, and kept pushing out until it reached all across Equestria and wiped all of the storm and its evil away. Spike started to get sucked in the book.
"Thank you, friend." Scootaloo said.
"Your welcome!" Yelled Spike.
ONE WEEK LATER
Spike and his now normal book returned to Equestria, back to the normal life.
"Hey Twilight! I got another message from the other Scootaloo! She says she is helping rebuild Canterlot with her new (And fully functional) wings!" The book acted the same way as the book Twilight got from Princess Celestia.
"I guess you helped with your own friendship problem, Spike!" Twilight said in joy.
"Yeah, I guess I did!" Spike said, also in joy. And they all continued their life. One step at a time.
