Proving She's Ready

As Twilight and Celestia passed through the door, they saw a blinding light before stumbling into a room that Twilight had never been before. She looked around and asked, "Princess Celestia, where are we?"

Celestia put her arm around her and replied, "We are in the place where you will prove whether or not you are completely ready."

Twilight Velvet, her mother approached her and replied, "Yes Twilight, it is me."

Still with a look of shock on her face Twilight asked, "Why are you in Princess Celestia's bedroom and why are you wearing a nightgown like that?"

*Velvet replied, "It is part of an agreement that Celestia and I made a long time ago, a very long time ago."

Twilight looked up at Celestia and asked, "An agreement? An agreement for what?"

Celestia replied, "That isn't important right now. What is important is that you prove that you are ready."

Velvet grabbed her by the hand and began to lead her towards the bed. She added, "You know Twilight, you are wearing way too many clothes. We need to get you more presentable."

Twilight gasped, "Presentable?"

Celestia replied, "Trust me, it will be."

Their topics of conversation switched from Twilight to their plans for after Twilight returns to Ponyville and everything it was going to take to make sure the ceremony was perfect.

Return to Ponyville

After a long relaxing shower Twilight returned to Celestia's bedroom, all ready to go. She headed towards the door and asked, "Princess Celestia, shall we?"

She heard her mother calling for her to come back, "Twilight, I need to see you one more time before you leave." Twilight turned around and returned to the bed where her mother ordered, "Sit down, I have a surprise for you."

Twilight sat down and wondered what was going to happen as her mother stood up and moved her face closer to hers. She gave her a smile and giggled, "Open wide sweetie."

Twilight replied, "Yes I am but I do have a question. Was all this with mom and you real or was it something you conjured up to give me one final test?"

Celestia planted her hand on Twilight's chest and asked, "That is up to you. Do you want to remember it or do you want to forget it ever happened?"

Twilight truly did enjoy everything and hoped that it would be real. She replied, "I would love for it to have been real and always be able to cherish everything mom and I did together." Her voice became more dreamy as she continued, "I want to remember the special bond mom and I shared today."

Celestia's voice became more serious as she continued, "If you do choose to remember all this, your mother will remember this as well and you two will always lust for one another. She will always want to relive today as will you. It could cause problems with your new role and it could endanger her marriage." She moved her hand off of Twilight's chest and continued, "Do you still want to remember this or do you want to forget it ever happened?"

Twilight asked in return, "Will mom remember it or will she forget it too?"

Celestia replied, "She would forget it too and even I will forget it. It will be as though everything that happened in my bedroom was just a dream that was forgotten."

Twilight wished so much that she could keep these memories and deep down she wanted to engage in these activities with her mom more, a lot more but she knew that it would likely be in everypony's best interests that this all be forgotten. She replied, "I think I would like for all of us to just forget this ever happened."

Celestia said, "Very well Twilight, forgotten it shall be."

Twilight asked, "So if I would have got a different cutie mark, you wouldn't have helped me the way you did?"

Celestia replied, "Twilight, had you got a different cutie mark you wouldn't have the powerful magic you have."

Twilight commented, "Well I was just curious." She let out a yawn and continued, "I don't know about any of you but I'm exhausted. I feel like I've been hit by a stagecoach or something."

Celestia replied, "Well being transformed into an Alicorn is very exhausting. How about you six get some sleep and then arrive in Canterlot early tomorrow for Twilight's coronation."

Twilight replied, "That sounds good to me!"

Celestia took flight back towards Canterlot and once she was out of eyesight, Pinkie grabbed Twilight and exclaimed, "We're going to have to throw you a 'I just became an Alicorn princess party!'"

Twilight gave her a nervous laugh, "Yeah we will but for now, I would really like to get some rest. Like I said, going through the transformation process is exhausting."

Her friends agreed and they all parted ways. Once Twilight returned to the library she immediately headed upstairs, plopped down on her bed and tried to get some sleep. She kept on waking up every now and then though as she was having strange dreams, very strange dreams about events she knew didn't happen earlier in the day, events she knew would never ever happen.

Twilight's Coronation

The following morning arrived and it was not the sun that woke Twilight up, it was the pounding on the door of her friends. She headed downstairs, opened the door and was immediately pulled outside by Pinkie. She exclaimed, "Come on Twilight, you don't want to miss your coronation!"

Twilight yawned, "Ugh, couldn't we have waited just a few more minutes?"

Rarity replied, "I thought you would be excited darling. I know if it were me I would have just went back with Celestia last night."

Applejack noticed Twilight was still dead tired and added, "You know what sugar cube, maybe you can get some sleep on the train."

Twilight yawned, "Maybe." She headed towards the train station and continued, "Let's get going. I'm sure Celestia wants us up there extra early."

When they boarded the train and got sat down, Twilight fell asleep almost immediately. Her friends were very excited for her and were wanting to talk about everything that might happen now that she was a princess but knew that keeping quiet would be best since Twilight needed her sleep.

The train ride up to Canterlot was all to short for Twilight as when the train ground to a halt, she woke up and was still dead tired. Twilight yawned and asked, "Well shall we?"

Her friends nodded and they headed towards the palace. As they looked around they could see guard ponies busy getting everything set up. Rarity nudged her and said, "I never imagined they'd be setting up a coronation ceremony for you!"

Twilight yawned, "I know." She pointed towards the palace and continued, "Let's just get to the palace. Hopefully the princess will have something we can eat."

When she arrived at the gate something happened that had never happened before, the guards bowed to her. They knew why she and her friends were there. He said, "Follow me your Majesty, Princess Celestia is waiting for you."

Twilight nodded and the six headed to the throne room where they were not only greeted by Celestia, but Luna, Cadence, Shining Armor and her parents as well. The first to say anything was Shining, "Twily, we're all so proud of you!"

Night Light added, "You've certainly earned it sweet pea!"

Velvet gave her a sheepish smile and continued, "You have no idea how proud we are of you. With everything you've done, you've proven you're worthy." She motioned for Twilight to come closer to her. Once she arrived she whispered, "Twily, I mean Twilight, can we talk in private after the coronation?"

Twilight was curious as to why but she figured she would ask, "Did you have the dreams too?"

Velvet replied, "Mhmm!"

Once everypony got sat down the chef came and took their orders. While they were waiting for their food Twilight wanted to know somethings, "Princess Celestia, with me being a princess now does that mean that we won't have to keep in touch as much?"

Celestia could see a look of concern on her face. She gave her a smile, "Twilight, just because I won't be expecting any more friendship letters or anything else doesn't mean we can't stay in touch! We can stay as close as we always have!"

Twilight gave her a smile, "That's wonderful, I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't keep in touch with you."

Luna was not kept all that well informed about what had happened. She asked, "Sister, now that Twilight is a princess, what will her role be?"

This was something that Celestia had not given any thought to. She had become so eager to transform Twilight after the incident in the Crystal Empire that she never gave it any thought. She replied, "Well I'm not sure yet but over time I know she will discover what her role is."

Luna rolled her eyes in disgust and Celestia leaned over and whispered, "Look, just let Twilight enjoy her day, alright?"

Luna sighed, "Very well big sister."

After changing to discussing how their lives had been going and eating their meal, everypony began to get ready for the ceremony. Twilight asked, "So where is everypony going to be? Will they be out in the crowd or what?"

Celestia replied, "No, your friends and your family will join you on the balcony during your speech."

Twilight had never been real good in front of large crowds. Her eyes shrank and she asked, "I have to address a huge crowd?"

Celestia replied, "Yes but Twilight, there is no need for you to be nervous. You were born and raised here so I'm certain that you will be well received."

Twilight gave her a nervous smile and replied, "I hope so, I just don't want them thinking I'm not worthy of this."

Celestia couldn't help but giggle, "Twilight, nopony is going to think that!"

Velvet approached her and added, "And they don't have any reason to think you're not worthy."

Twilight gave them both a nervous smile, "I hope not."

An hour had passed and a large part of the city of Canterlot had gathered in the courtyard below the balcony where Celestia usually gives her addresses. When the clock hit 1000 Celestia stepped forward to an adoring yet curious crowd. Once she figured that she had the attention of everypony she began,

"Fillies and Gentlecolts, today is a very special day in Equestria. For ages there have been three princesses in Equestria," She motioned for her fellow princesses to step forward, "My sister Princess Luna, my niece Princess Cadence and myself but today is a special day as we will be crowning a fourth princess." she motioned for Twilight to step forward and she continued, "I present to you for the very first time, Princess Twilight Sparkle!"

Twilight stepped forward and looked out nervously at the cheering crowd. Celestia saw this and whispered, "Twilight, there is no need to be nervous, they adore you."

That caused Twilight to smile as the crowd went silent. Twilight was standing there still a bit nervous as she began,

"Around three years ago my teacher and mentor Princess Celestia sent me to Ponyville to study friendship. I am going to admit, at the time that was not something I really cared about. At the time I had her," she motioned for her family to step forward "and I had my mother, Twilight Velvet, my father Night Light and the pony who was always there for me, my brother Shining Armor."

Once her family had stepped forward she continued, "While I was in Ponyville, I was parted from those who had always been closest to me but in Ponyville, I made five very special friends." She motioned for her friends to step forward to the balcony. She pointed her wings at them and continued, "It was because of these five that I have become the pony I am today and without them, I definitely would not be standing here nor would I be a princess" She looked back to see Celestia giving her a smile as she continued, "and for that, I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart." She put her wings around them and finished, "Thank you friends, thank you all!"

The crowd began to cheer loudly as everypony headed back inside. While her friends were happy for her she couldn't help but notice that her brother had tears in his eyes. She approached him and asked, "Shining Armor, are you crying?"

Shining replied, "Of course not! It's liquid pride, totally different thing!"

Almost immediately her friends crowded around her and began congratulating her on her speech when she noticed her mom signaling for her to go to her so they could talk. Twilight did what was requested of her and Velvet asked, "Twilight, we need to talk alone."

The two headed to the next room around the corner so that nopony would see or notice them. Velvet planted her hand on Twilight's flank and asked, "Twilight, from what you said during breakfast, you had dreams last night didn't you?"

Twilight replied, "About us, yes. I don't know what it is but it seemed so real, it seemed like we had actually done that before."

Velvet slapped her flank playfully and giggled, "I know and something inside me is telling me we did. It seems like I had lost several hours yesterday and I think I know what happened....."

Twilight planted her hand on Velvet's flank and gasped, "My final test! I remember it now. When Princess Celestia took me to this realm of darkness and stars, we went through a doorway into her bedroom and you were there!"

The two laughed quietly before pulling one another in for a deep kiss. They began massaging the other's flank and pulling on their tails as their tongues fought for dominance. Soon they realized that they couldn't get caught doing that so they pulled back. Twilight gave her mom a nervous smile and asked, "Mom, so is that going to be it or....."

Velvet knew what she was talking about and immediately wanted to put her mind at ease, "Twilight honey, if you want us to have more experiences like that, I can make that happen."

Twilight again placed her hand on Velvet's flank and begged, "Yes mom, I would love it if we could do more of that. You have no idea how wonderful you made me feel."

Velvet smacked her flank playfully and giggled, "The feelings are mutual sweetie." She lowered her voice and asked, "So would tonight work out for you?"

Twilight sighed, "Unfortunately no, my friends are throwing me a party" she got a huge smile on her face and continued, "but my schedule tomorrow night is open!"

Velvet giggled, "Good but where are we going to do this? We can't just do it up here and I doubt we can do it down there."

Twilight whispered, "Oh if I pull all the shades we can!" She leaned closer to her and whispered, "Go down to Ponyville tomorrow on the noon train and I can take you out for lunch and after that, we can go to the library for dessert, a very long dessert!"

Velvet replied, "Alright sweetie, you have a deal!"

The two began to move in for another kiss when they heard, "Princess Twilight, Velvet, where are you? It is time for lunch."

Twilight yelled, "Coming!"

Twilight and Velvet gave one another a smile as they headed towards the dining hall. Twilight wasn't sure how often her and her mother could satisfy the other's needs but she knew that when they did, that her mother would give her the time of her life.

Prelude: Fixing the Spell/Meeting With Celestia

After a chaotic day of restoring cutie marks after casting Starswirl's spell, it finally came to Twilight. The words of the spell she was trying to fix came to her mind. After her and her friends returned to the library, she grabbed Starswirl's book and wrote the proper spell inside of it.

From all of us together, together we're friends. With the marks of our destinies made one, there is magic without end!

As soon as she finished writing the spell, the Elements of Harmony began to behave in a way that none of the six had seen before. They began to glow and suddenly Twilight found herself encircled in light. At first she felt panicky because she had no idea what was happening but soon would develop a smile as she had a feeling that she may be fulfilling the destiny that Celestia had had for her ever since she took her in as her protege.

When the light subsided Twilight found herself in a dark realm that was filled with stars. She had no clue where she was and asked, "Hello? Where am I? What is this place?"

Twilight saw a figure in the distance that she did not initially recognize that was approaching her. The figure said, "Congratulations, Twilight. I knew you could do it."

After hearing the voice she immediately knew who it was, Princess Celestia. She ran to her and asked, "Princess....I don't understand. What did I do?"

Celestia gave her a smile and replied, "You did something today that's never been done before. Something even a great unicorn like Star Swirl the Bearded was not able to do, because he did not understand friendship like you do. The lessons you've learned here in Ponyville have taught you well. You have proven that you're almost ready, Twilight."

Twilight gave her a nervous look and asked, "Almost ready? Almost ready for what?"

Celestia's horn lit up and a door with light shining in appeared in the distance. Celestia pointed her hoof towards it and replied, "Follow me and you shall find out."

Twilight gave her a nervous smile and followed her. She wasn't sure what it was but given that Celestia had said she was nearly ready, she figured that it couldn't be anything bad.
