I'm back in black, y'all.
I've got another story and *gasp*, it's not Appledash! I know, I'm shocked too. I've just been on a real Twijack kick here lately and there isn't enough fanfic to feed my soul.
I've also been wanting to write a story where Applejack is openly and happily lesbian, because there aren't many of them and I think there should be more. It's been fun to write about.
The title is from this great song https://youtu.be/7qaHdHpSjX8 I felt like it went pretty well with my story so I used it.
Please R&R because you love me (I hope).

Chapter One
Twilight Sparkle sighed as she peered over her history textbook from her spot under an oak tree and watched where the rest of her friends were hanging out across the courtyard.
Her violet eyes gazed past each of her best friends until they longingly settled on the blonde farmer who was currently trying to wrestle her long hair out of Rarity’s clutches.
She could faintly hear the fashionista whining about something but she paid it no mind, her attention focused on the homegrown beauty who finally gave up and sat down so Rarity would have her way.
Twilight sighed again as she watched Applejack laugh about something Pinkie Pie had said as Rarity French braided her hair, the dimples on her cheeks becoming even more pronounced.
“Take a picture, it’ll last longer.”
Twilight jumped and turned to look at who startled her. “Rainbow Dash, you scared me!”
“Yeah, I bet I did, you were staring at Applejack so hard I was actually waiting on her to catch fire or something.”
“I-I was a little distracted, yes.”
Rainbow snorted. “A little? You didn’t even notice that I’ve been standing next to you for five minutes! You’ve got it bad, Twi.”
Twilight sighed a third time. “Fine. I was very distracted, but I can’t help it, she’s just so beautiful!”
The athlete sat down next to Twilight and stretched out.
“AJ’s not bad, she’s got one hell of an ass though.”
The bookwork rolled her eyes. “I can’t disagree, but Applejack is so much more than her looks. She’s level-headed, brave, hard-working, dependable, kind and very smart. She’s what you would call, ‘the whole package.’”
Rainbow raised an eyebrow. “Very smart, huh? I guess she’s been hiding her test grades from you.”
“I don’t mean book smart, although she is making a high A in our AP English class. For someone who sounds like she’s never set foot into an English classroom, she reads and writes at the level I do. But that’s not what I mean.
“She’s a different kind of smart. Do you realize how much it takes to run a ranch and an orchard? You have to know about different trees and plants, how they grow and how to keep them healthy. You have to know how to properly take care of livestock and how to deal with any sicknesses or injuries that they obtain. You have to have extensive knowledge about the equipment and tools used to keep a farm running, plus know enough about plumbing, carpentry and HVAC to build the structures they do. Do you know how to do any of that? Because I don’t!”
“Wow, chill out Twi, I don’t want you busting a vein or something. Why don’t you just ask her out, like I’ve told you to do twenty times before?”
Twilight shot her a glare. “And like I’ve told you twenty times before, I can’t risk our friendship over my elementary school crush! Besides, look at her compared to me. I keep myself in very good shape, a balanced diet and exercise does wonders for your body, but Applejack is strong. She could easily pick me up and-”
“Carry you to your bedroom?” Rainbow teased.
Twilight cleared her throat.
“That’s besides the point. The point is that Applejack is a mix of strong and feminine. Next to her I probably look like a weak little girl.” Twilight glanced back over to where the farmer was, losing herself in thought. “Everything about her is just so perfect, even her flaws. She wears flannel everyday and somehow still looks better than Rarity, and I mean, have you seen her lips? Lips like that should be illegal and I want a taste…”
“You seriously need to get laid Twilight, I can see a puddle forming under you just thinking about it. And hello, in case you forgot, me and Jacks used to date. I know what those lips are capable of, and I’ve gotta say, they are really yummy.”
“Not helping. I just wish there was a way to know for absolute certain that she would respond positively to my advances. I haven’t seen her date anyone since our freshman year! W-What if she isn’t into women anymore? What if she doesn’t even want to date in general? What if she is secretly seeing someone else and hasn’t told us! Oh, there are just to many factors to consider!”
Rainbow laughed. “First of all, I’m pretty sure she isn’t seeing anyone. AJ isn’t a good liar and we would’ve found out by now. Second, I have a really good feeling that she wouldn’t turn you down. She’s pretty open-minded when she wants to be. And third, do you really think she just switches her sexuality on and off? Like as she’s deciding what to wear for the day, she also decides whether or not she’s gonna like pussy too? I’m pretty sure that’s not it works, egghead. She came out in the eighth grade. I don’t think she’s changed her mind.”
Twilight glared at her friend. “I can’t believe you of all people stumbled on my secret. Why couldn’t it have been Fluttershy or Rarity? At least they wouldn’t make fun of me!”
“I’m not making fun of you, I’m trying to get you to see how ridiculous you sound. Confessing how you feel to someone is terrifying, but there’s no need to over-think it, especially when it comes to Applejack. She’s about as easy going as they get.”
“I know I’m over-exaggerating, but I can’t help it. I want to tell her how I feel but I’m being cowardly and hiding behind excuses. Part of me wonders whether or not I’ll ever be able to tell her. I can’t even remember how to function correctly when I’m around her! She probably thinks I’m an idiot.”
“You’re probably right, I think you’re an idiot too. And speaking of, here comes your knight in tight jeans…”
Both girls turned their attention to the cowgirl who was now walking across the lawn with an easy smile of her face.
Rainbow noticed that Twilight’s eyes kept wandering down a little too low as Applejack approached.
“Hey y’all, what’re you two over here gossipin’ about?”
She stopped under the tree, leaving a respectable distance between her and her friends.
Rainbow Dash grinned wickedly. “Why AJ darling, we were just talking about how absolutely stunning you look this Friday afternoon!”
Twilight sputtered and shot a look at the athlete.
“Did you do something with your hair?”
Applejack rolled her eyes. “Har har, Rae, it ain’t like you just saw Rarity braid my hair or nothin’.”
She turned to Twilight and smiled again. “Howdy Twi. You’ve been awful quiet these last few days, you doin’ alright?”
Rainbow set her head in her hand, leaned over and smirked at the purple-haired girl.
“Yeah Twi, what’s on your mind? Anything you wanna tell our dear friend AJ?”
Twilight sucked in a breath.
“N-Not in particular, just been busy, uh, studying!” She held up her book as proof.
“I’d expect nothin’ else outta you. Although I wish you’d come around more often, I miss hangin’ out with you.”
“Awww,” Rainbow egged on, “she misses you, Twilight. Don’t you miss her?”
“W-Well of course I do, I’ve just got a lot of, um, things I’m working on a-at the moment!”
Twilight started to sweat.
“You need to get away from them dusty ole books sometimes, sugar. It can’t be too good for your health. How ‘bout this? You should come on over to the farm tomorrow and I’ll show you how we do it out in the country? Ain’t no better way to spend a Saturday than with a friend.”
“A-are you sure? I don’t want to impose…”
“You ain’t imposin’ none, I’m the one who invited you after all.”
“Yeah,” Rainbow Dash agreed, “don’t you wanna see how she does it out in the sticks?”
Twilight coughed awkwardly and started stuffing her textbooks into her backpack.
“I-I mean, I guess I could come o-over, as long as you’re sure I won’t be a bother.”
“You could never bother me, I like y’too much,” Applejack winked.
Twilight blushed and stood up, wiping the dirt off her pants before swinging her bag over her shoulders.
“Then I guess I-I’ll see you tomorrow!”
Twilight caught Rainbow making kissy faces in her peripheral and squeaked.
“I, uh, need to go now, lots of home work and all that, its been good talking to you both, haha, okay now bye!”
With that, she left one confused farmer and one smug athlete in her wake.
“Is it just me or did Twilight seem more nervous than a cat in a room full of rockin’ chairs?”
Rainbow got up and shrugged, pretending like she didn’t know what was wrong.
“I dunno, she hasn’t told me anything. I wonder what’s bothering her.”
Applejack kicked at the dirt with the toe of her brown leather boot.
"I’m glad she agreed to come over tomorrow, maybe I’ll finally gather up the courage to tell her how I feel.”
“You’ve been saying that for over a month. You’re all bark and no bite. Stop being a pansy and do it already.”
Applejack glared.
“If you remember correctly, I bite plenty,” Applejack snapped, causing a pink dusting to cover Rainbow’s cheeks, “but this ain’t just about me. I have her feelin’s to take into consideration. I can’t just say somethin’ that’s gonna change our entire relationship if she says no, y’know?”
“Yeah yeah, you’ve told me this a hundred times already. Honestly, I can’t see what you see in her. She’s nothing like I am.”
“Thank goodness for that,” the blonde joked. “I just… she’s so amazin’. She cares about everyone and makes sure they’re happy. She’s the most intelligent person I’ve ever met and it’s cute the way she carries on when she’s talkin’ about somethin’ she’s interested in. She always stands up for what’s right and even if it isn’t manual labor, she has a serious work ethic I can look up to. Don’t hurt none that she’s easy on the eyes and is prettier than a autumn sunset.
“I can’t stop imaginin’ a future with her. I want to wake up with her next to me, make pancakes and dance around the kitchen in our PJ’s. Spend lazy days out in the orchard under a tree reading a book together…”
“I’m sure you also want to bang her.”
“Like a screen door in a hurricane. But relationships ain’t just about sex, there’s more to it than that. Don’t matter anyway, she ain’t my girlfriend.”
“Well I say you should ask her. I have a good feeling about it,” Rainbow tried to hint.
“I dunno, it’s an awful lot to risk just ‘cause I’m crushin’ on her.”
Rainbow Dash tried again. “AJ, if I know Twilight as well as I think I do, then you should definitely try, you might not be disappointed.”
“I wish I could, but I don’t think she’d date me.”
The shorter girl huffed in annoyance.
“I’m nowhere near as smart as she is and she probably wants someone that she can have an intellectual conversation with. She don’t want m-”
Rainbow finally snapped. “But she does want you, you blind idiot!”
Rainbow automatically clapped her hand over her mouth and stared at Applejack, who stared back wide-eyed.
“Whatddia mean ‘she wants me?’ D-Do y’mean she l-likes me?!”
The athlete sighed. “I guess the cat’s outta the bag now. And yes, she likes you! She hasn’t shut up about you since I found out about it! Between you and her, I dunno who’s been more annoying about this whole thing!”
“Really? Y’mean it? You ain’t just messin’ with me, are you?”
“Before you came over here, I was trying to get her to ask you out because I knew how you felt about her, but just like you, she’s scared of fucking up your friendship. She’s totally into you though, maybe even more than you are into her.”
A wide smile made its way onto the blonde’s face. “I can’t believe it! I can’t believe she actually likes me!”
“You should, it’s true. And now that you know, you can finally stop being a little bitch and ask her out.”
“I… I could ask her out tomorrow! I could make a picnic lunch and take her down to the swimmin’ hole in the east orchard, that’d be simple and romantic, huh, Rae?”
“Sure, The sooner, the better ‘cause the sexual tension coming off the two of you is too much. But please do me a favor? Don’t tell her I told you. She’s scary when she wants to be.”
Applejack chuckled.
“Sure thing sugarcube, my lips are sealed.”
“Thanks Jacks. Now go get ready to sweep that nerd off her feet, and remember, I’m always up for a three-way.”
