"Would you believe me, if I told you of a story of such 'myths'? One would declare me crazy of course, others would just walk away without a word said. I stood once as a pony who had a happy life, many good friends, and was even a princess. Myths were just ponytales. I had no desire to think about such things. Those myths and legends of old were correct, however. The bloodsucker vampires, killer werewolves, beautiful, mystical but extremely dangerous sirens, blood changelings, and other sorts of killers. Those just waiting under the blanket of darkness, awaiting for some unfortunate prey to waltz into their trap, others may even be living among you. Remember this, my little ponies, be careful who you trust. I learned that a long time ago."
-Twilight Sparkle, Protector and Princess of Equestria
A deafening roll of the thunder rolled across Ponyville, followed by a bright flash of lightning. In one of the many homes of the town, a lavender alicorn slowly opened her eyes. With a slight groan did she shift out of her uncomfortable position she was in.
Slowly but surely, Twilight Sparkle walked to the door of her library that she fell asleep in once again. She stopped, however, unable to see through the darkness.
Off of instinct, Twilight's horn glowed and a second later the candles around her lit with a dim light. Satisfied now that she had light, she dragged her hooves across the crystal floor to the kitchen for a drink of water.
Lightning flashed once again, odd shadows appearing. One, however, caught the princess off guard. During the second of light, she saw a shadow of a pony.
Curiosity got the better of Twilight, which she cursed herself for. She slowly walked to her living room, second thoughts filling her brain.
Another roll of thunder and lightning came by, and this time Twilight was sure the shadow was one of a pony. Horrified once more, she stopped.
"Oh Celestia, am I really going to do this...?" Twilight hesitantly asked her currently not there god. "Yes, you are, Twilight," she answered herself.
Approaching the couch in the living room that she saw the 'pony' on once more, the alicorn stopped dead in her tracks, mouth agap.
Blood. Blood was on her couch. The once ivory coat was gone, and in its place was blood and a dead body. Twilight's face turned pale, with green around her mouth. Covering it with a hoof, she quickly dashed to her bathroom.
Doing what she must, Twilight quickly flushed the horrid liquid down the toilet once out. All of the liquid in her body drained out, along with a lot of her strength.
With her eyes greyed and dull, Twilight managed to stand with wobbly legs. Shaking with what was left of her energy, she slowly walked to her kitchen in hopes to regain some strength.
Somehow, the lit candles had burned out, leaving a blanket of darkness. An eerie quietness filled the room, setting a perfect mood for those under the dark.
Twilight could have sworn she heard wings flapping. Eyes widening, she quickly shot her head in multiple directions in hopes of finding the noise.
From looking at the living room - and the still blood covered couch - to the kitchen she found nothing. "Maybe it was just my imaginati- WHAT WAS THAT?"
Twilight was certain she heard something this time. No playing games, she was going to figure out whatever was in her castle.
Quickly dashing to the kitchen with a little regained energy, Twilight grabbed a quick snack to refill more strength so she could at least do some spells.
A crack from the door was heard, and for a split second a pair of burning red eyes of hunger were seen. Twilight's own purple eyes, full of fear, widened more than they already were.
"This isn't happening right now..." She slumped on the table of her kitchen and quickly ate the rest of her snack. Once finished, Twilight cast a light spell so she could at least see a little. Going down the hall to where she saw the eyes, the alicorn slowly walked, cautious hoofsteps echoing throughout the corridor. Turning down the hall, Twilight ran muzzle to muzzle with a reflection of herself.
Not just any reflection, Twilight noticed. For this was one of evil and dark spirits. Upon the crystalized wall, the princess was met with a lavender - though shades darker - coated alicorn with wings of leather. Fangs made themselves known as the reflection gave an immoral smile. The same color eyes as the former seen. Blood red eyes, burning with hatred pointed at, well, it seemed like the good Twilight herself.
The real Twilight was horrified. Whoever was in her castle wanted her gone and evil, it seemed. Attempting to undo the image in her brain, the princess continued down the hall going the other way.
Little did she know that the villain was awaiting her down that hall. Quickly hiding among the shadows, the evil one watched Twilight, carefully eyeing her every movement.
Toying with prey was something for sure. One may never except it, making it the best tease. The bloodsucker stared at Twilight, whose back was to her.
"Help me..." The voice called. Twilight's ears shot up, eyes full of fear.
"Who's there!?" She called, horn aglow.
"Your worst nightmare, dear. You shall get what you deserve."
Now, the evil one thought. Twilight was directly in front of her, and she made the attack. Emerging from the shadows, Twilight turned her head just in time to see a pony with fangs lunge upon her, aiming for her neck.
Unfortunately, Twilight was too slow. Ever so slowly, the vampire crouched on her pray, hunger seen in her eyes.
"Good bye, princess," the vampire said.
Twilight struggled beneath the vampire's powerful grip, with every movement made it tighter. She sighed, and her horn finally stopped glowing. She would have teleported out of the grip but cursed logics say you can't have something surrounding your horn to cast spells.
The vampire stroke Twilight's neck and licked it slowly, sending shivers down the alicorn's spine. Suddenly, she thrust her fangs in the the former's neck, drawing blood and pain.
Twilight screamed, the energy and life force she had gained recently draining out of her like a liquid. Blood was spilled on the floor of her palace as the vampire drank her red liquid.
The alicorn began to struggle to keep her eyes open, falling onto the predator's hooves. As the vampire drank the last of her blood, Twilight finally closed her eyes completely and released her last breath before falling limp.
"Ah, tastes like magic," the vampire stated with a satisfied stare. She licked the rest of blood off of Twilight's wounds before opening her mouth and allowing the blood to drip into the princess's throat.
Slowly, the last of red dripped off and into her mouth. The vampire left Twilight's life form laying there, making a mental note to see how she was doing soon.
Twilight shifted from her sleep and opened her eyes. Everything was blurry, so she blinked a few times until she could finally see again.
Only now did the weak alicorn realize where she was. Twilight was laying on the floor of her castle with blood surrounding her.
"What happened? Ugh, I can't remember! Last thing I remember is getting a snack and then...~" Twilight's heart dropped. "~... Vampires...
Lightning flashed once again on the dark night, but Twilight could see the sun coming up. The bright light started to flood through the curtains, which she hissed to and covered her eyes.
"Wait, did I just, hiss?"
Twilight shook her head at herself. Just what did that vampire do to her? She didn't have time to think, though. She was suddenly hit with a wave of tiredness.
"Ugh, I suppose I should go to bed..." Twilight placed a bloody hoof upon her forehead in an attempt to calm her headache. Dragging herself across the floor, the alicorn suddenly stopped when she started sniffing the air.
Metallic? Silver? She didn't know. All she knew was that it smelled good and she wanted it. Allowing instincts to kick in, Twilight allowed her nose to guide her to Spike's room.
She wasn't aware of where she's was, though. Twilight's eyes were developed in a black mist crawling across her body, engulfing herself.
Get the wondrous food source. You don't care about him. He's just getting in the way. Dragon Blood will make you stronger.
What was that? The shadows were speaking to the alicorn, telling her to kill her 'son'. Twilight nodded, and the shadows ate her completely, before releasing a spray upon her. Once it all disappeared, in the place of the princess was a blood hungry vampire, like the reflection.
She could hear Spike's heartbeat through the crystal door. Twilight flew up with her new bat wings and opened the door, making sure the dragon couldn't see the vampire.
He was a deep sleeper, and didn't even hear a thing. Twilight smirked, her fangs visible to anypony. She slowly walked to Spike's bed, her shadow hovering over the dragon.
Twilight stroke his neck, causing the primary vain to be visible. This time Spike squirmed and put on a distressed face. The new vampire smiled.
"Goodbye, dear dragon. You were nothing but a pest anyway." With a quick motion, Twilight's fangs sunk into his neck, waking him up. Spike yelped in pain and tried to pull away, but to no avail.
"Tw-twilight??!! Let go of m-me!" Spike shouted, which only made the vampire push down harder on him. She continued sucking his blood, until he no longer could keep his eyes open.
Unwillingly, Spike's eyes slowly shut as he sighed one last time. Twilight licked her lips free of the blood and left the mess of her now dead pet on the bed.
Though she didn't notice yet, the Dragon Blood was causing her to look physically stronger. Her hair grew to be flawless, and fell over to the side and touched the floor. Her fangs grew in size and sharpened, and her actually body became toned.
The sun was fully risen by now, and though she just woke up, Twilight was exhausted. The alicorn tucked in her wings and trotted down the hall, up the stairs, and to her bedroom. She immediately dashed to her window and slammed the curtains shut while making a loud hiss.
Once the room was completely dark, Twilight trotted over to her bed and jumped upon it. The covers were levitated on top of the vampire, and she soon fell asleep.
Twilight awoke to the crickets chirping outside her window. The moon was just above the mountains near Ponyville, signaling the alicorn that she slept through the day. She got up and stretched before she went to the mirror. Only then did she realize that her reflection was not able to be seen.
Shrugging her shoulders, Twilight went downstairs with an empty stomach. "I suppose it's time to feed again. That petty dragon wasn't very much."
The vampire trotted to her front doors and opened them with her magic. Not too many ponies were outside, but one Twilight saw instantly was her fellow unicorn friend.
Rarity also saw Twilight as well. "Hey... Twi-twilight...? What happen..." Her eyes opened in realization. "Oh dear, not again."
The alicorn was confused for a second, then even more when Rarity dove onto her, knocking the two in Twilight's castle.
"Rarity! What was that for!" Twilight yelled, a hiss escaping her, which made the vampire make an 'Ohh' sound. Once she figured out that the unicorn knew, she pounced on the other pony.
Somehow, though Twilight had an undeniably amount of strength, Rarity tossed her off of herself like a fly. The former was even more confused at this point.
"Dear, please. Fluttershy just got hungry again. Besides, I believe werewolves are stronger. By the way, I smell a dead dragon in here. Did you keep his body?"
Twilight's jaw was touching the floor. Rarity's body had morphed into a different species, one of myths, to be exact. Her hooves became paws, and her coat grew even more furry, causing her to look like a wolf.
"Wha...?" Twilight said, her hunger long forgotten.
"I'm a werewolf, dear. Thank Luna that it is a full moon, or else this would be awkward." Rarity stated.
Twilight and Rarity talked over their confusion and the vampire now understood the werewolf. Rarity told her friend about her suspicion that Fluttershy was the one who turned her into a vampire. Since the werewolf had said that she was hungry, the dead body of Spike was given to her to eat the meat.
Now that the confusion was gone, the two friends decided to live with each other in the castle. Everytime they caught food Twilight would drink the blood and Rarity would eat the rest.
Twilight's stomach growled once more, and Rarity had the hint. "It seems you're overdue for a feeding. Perhaps we take Applejack? I never really liked her."
Twilight's furry ears perked up, and she nodded with a smile. The two mythical ponies left the castle to go to Sweet Apple Acres.
Applejack awoke to a scratch on the window. She looked outside, but saw nothing. Suddenly, a whisper was heard in her ear.
"Apple...
Jack...
Dear, help... us..."
Applejack yelped a round of "Whose there!" but received no answer.
"Let me tell you a story. Once upon a time, there were two ponies named Charity and Applesack. They loved each other, and were planning to get married. Charity, however, was secretly a werewolf, and was helping her friend, Nightlight kill her.
So one day the couple were on a date, which was the same night that Nightlight and Charity were planning to kill her. And it was Nightmare Night as well, so they were telling scary stories. Charity's story was the very one you're hearing right now. And guess what? She got to the part where she told Applesack that Nightlight might be standing right, next, TO YOU!"
Applejack slowly turned her head when she heard Twilight's hoof creek against the wood. She screamed bloody murder as the vampire tackled her to the ground, and shoved her fangs inside the earth pony.
Rarity came in and shoved an apple in Applejack's mouth. "You know what? I feel like I was Charity, you were Applesack, and Twilight was Nightlight. You see it, prey?"
Applejack's lids were heavy, and just as she was about to answer, she passed out. The last thing she saw was two ponies of the night.
