All he can do is hate himself. As Discord floats in the bubble near those he’d betrayed, he felt like he needed to be punished to an extent. He now wishes he can do it to himself, and then have everypony laugh at his carcass. That’s his new wish…
At that moment he thinks that, Tirek is threatening Twilight.
“What’s it going to be?” he asks her.
Twilight just stood there.
“I’ll give you my magic… in exchange for my friends’…” she said.
He five pony friends and Spike gasp, however Discord turns away, already clawing at his skin, having the urge to punish himself. He can visualize it all now, acting as a magician to trap the ponies, using a fishing rod to capture ponies in Appleoosa, and catching the Wonderbolts. He HELPED Tirek with that, and he really hurt Fluttershy. He feels like suffering… he WANTS to suffer.
“As you wish…” Tirek grins at Twilight’s deal, as he releases her friends, all except Discord.
“All of them…” she said, meaning Discord.
Discord shakes his head in fear, wishing she’s not doing that.
“Even if he betrayed you?” Tirek asks.
“Discord is my friend….” Twilight insists.
“NO I’M NOT!” Discord screams, “LEAVE ME!”
“You heard him…” Tirek grins at her.
“I don’t care…” Twilight said, “He doesn’t deserve to suffer.”
“If that’s what you want.” Tirek sighed.
Discord gasped, as he’s the released on the ground. He felt his magic back… No… NO! He didn’t want that.
“I shouldn’t be here!” he quickly breathes, throwing his medallion on the ground.
The ponies were not all the way angry at him, as they suddenly become concerned about the way Discord behaved as soon as he teleports himself to an unknown place.
As he does that, Tirek sucks all the magic out of Twilight.
“YES! YES!” he cheers, storming away from her and the others.
“Twilight!” Applejack said, coming to her aid, “What were you thinking?”
“Where’s Discord?” Pinkie wonders.
“He just threw this on the ground…” Spike said, picking up the medallion.
Twilight then looks at it, and figures out it’s the last key to the chest.
“We need to get to the chest! Come on girls!” Twilight declares, as her friends then run with her.
Alone.
Secluded.
Discord now found the space he wanted to hide in, to think about what he’s done. After Tirek stole his magic, he realized of what he’d done, and now wishes to end his life. In the most extreme way possible, Discord kept visioning the hateful faces in the ponies’ eyes. Reddened with hate, teeth grinding in fury. And if Celestia was here, she’d try the punishment, but he wanted to do it.
And all he can think of is Fluttershy. Fluttershy. Why did he hurt her? Why?
And Spike had reason to try and bite him through the bars when he made the capture.
“I’m a worthless monster.” Discord suddenly whispers to himself, “I hate myself…”
At that moment, he can also hear Tirek’s defeat in the distance, as Twilight and her friends defeat him with their Rainbow Power, which he doesn’t know yet about.
Discord can already feel the imagination of the ponies’ hatred towards him building up.
YOU MONSTER!
TRAITOR!
I CAN’T BELIEVE I THOUGHT YOU’D CHANGE!
I THOUGHT WE WERE FRIENDS!
LET’S TURN HIM BACK TO STONE!
GOOD RIDANCE!
GO BACK….
The thoughts worsened…
Until…
“Why am I even alive?” Discord said, emotionless.
Just then, Discord snaps his fingers and creates a pen and paper, writing his own goodbye note.
To anypony who cares,
I’m sure you’re shocked to see how I chose to execute myself after all I’ve done to you. This is the best thing I could do to make sure I cause no more harm onto all of you again. To my other dearest friends, I have one thing to say to each of you before I die.
Rainbow Dash, tell the Wonderbolts about my suicide/torture to please them, and become captain someday.
Applejack, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie, I wish the best for all of you, and hope for your lives to be joyous without me.
Princess Celestia, Luna, Cadence and Twilight, I’m sure my death will make you proud and will set an example on everypony else so they’ll know what will happen to traitors.
Spike, I hope you become powerful and stronger each day.
Shining Armor, I hope for you to bring peace and help Twilight bring everything back to normal along with her friends.
And Fluttershy, I really wished I’d never broken your heart. I’m no friend of yours, and I hope you’ll find new friends that will not include me ever again.
I wish the best for all of you, and I hope all of you will never forgive me and remember me as a monster instead of a friend. I’m sorry. Goodbye.

Discord then sets his note right by him, and creates a dagger with his fingers snapping. He then clutches onto the weapon, sobbing. He just sits there, thinking hateful thoughts to himself to prepare himself for his suicide.
“I’m so sorry…” Discord whines softly.
He raises his blade.
PHAT!
He stabbed himself in the ankle.
STAB!
Stabbed himself, again, again…
And cut…
Blood. Blood. As he then slices his wrists.
STAB! In the arms!
STAB! In one of… HIS EYES! The left to be precise.
Discord didn’t even bother screaming, as he weeps in sheer silence when inflicting himself with nearing suicidal death. He already stabbed himself in the arteries, legs, arms, and stomach. All he wanted to do next… was slit his throat…
The Everfree Forest was gloomy, and Shining Armor was already with his royal guards and Braeburn from Appleoosa.
Suddenly, Shining Armor stops, using his horn to sense Discord’s presence.
“He’s hiding in the cave over there.” Shining Armor said to his search party, “Just for the draconequus’ sake, we’ll go easy on him as we approach him.”
“Darn lord of chaos using his fishing rod my torso.” growls Braeburn, as they head toward the cave.
As they enter into the dark circle, they can hear the weeping of Discord growing louder and louder.
“What is he crying about?” Shining Armor snarls.
As they turn the corner.
“Good… bye…” Discord wheezes.
Shining Armor, Braeburn, and the guards look in shock, as Discord is about to slit his throat with the dagger being close to dig into his windpipe.
“WAIT! DON’T!” Shining Armor screams, as he knocks the blade out from Discord.
“Kill… me…” Discord rattles.
“Did you do this to yourself?” Shining Armor asks him, supporting Discord and trying to control his bleeding.
“Kill… me… please…” Discord cries softly.
Shining Armor now knew this was attempted suicide, as did the guards and Braeburn.
“Contact Celestia!” Shining Armor said to Braeburn and the guards, “We need to get him to a hospital!”
A search party for Discord is already underway, and after Twilight, Applejack, Spike, Rainbow, Pinkie, Rarity, and Fluttershy explored Twilight’s new castle the tree had created, Princess Celestia arrived to let them know of the situation.
“Discord still needs a lot of explaining to do.” Celestia said in a stern voice, “That’s why you need to help the citizens of Canterlot, Cloudsdale, and Appleoosa find him. He can’t just run away from what he’s done.”
“Don’t you think we’re being to hard on him?” Fluttershy asks Celestia, “We did explain that Tirek only used Discord and misled him.”
“That’s still no excuse for what Discord did.” Celestia frowned, “I know you tried your best Fluttershy, but I’m afraid it’s not good enough. We’ll spread out the search party towards the Everfree Forest next.”
“We understand.” Twilight said.
As Celestia then leaves with Luna and Cadence, Fluttershy just looks down.
“I just can’t join that search party.” Fluttershy said softly, “I’m worried I might yell at Discord.”
“You have every reason to!” Rarity hisses, “That beast nearly killed us all.”
“Yeah, but… he didn’t.” Spike recalls, “Maybe we’re being slightly hard on him.”
“I’m sure Celestia just wants to talk with Discord.” Twilight adds.
“What good will talking do?” Rainbow Dash snaps, “I’d say we’d turn him back to stone!”
“If only we hadn’t destroyed those elements sooner for that matter!” Applejack snorts.
“GUYS! Stop!” Pinkie said, “I agree with Twilight, Fluttershy, and Spike. Discord wasn’t a complete bully because he was tricked. Besides, don’t you see what your words are doing to Fluttershy?”
Rainbow, Applejack, and Rarity then look at the yellow pegasi, hanging her head down and crying.
“We’re just trying to say the facts.” Rarity protests.
“He’s no monster though.” Fluttershy tries to reason.
“HOW CAN YOU BE SO NAÏVE FLUTTERSHY?” Rainbow Dash shouts, “You need to understand Discord is no friend!”
“I can’t believe you’re so stubborn!” Applejack scolds.
“ENOUGH! I… I don’t want to… even call you my friends if you can’t forgive Discord… you bullies…” Fluttershy sobs loudly, then starting to cry softly.
She then walks slowly away from the group, as Twilight then turns to eye angrily at Applejack, Rainbow, and Rarity.
“Well I hope you’re happy.” Twilight said in a stern voice, “Fluttershy is only trying to be compassionate, and she has very reason to be. Discord wasn’t perfect, and all he needed was to be taught a little more despite him being confused. But now you just had to snap at her, all because she wanted to help a creature she cares about. Some friends you are!”
Applejack, Rainbow, and Rarity frown in sadness, taking in what Twilight just said. As Twilight turns around to follow Fluttershy, Spike and Pinkie looks at the three ponies. Spike sighs.
“I know you weren’t trying to be mean, you’re just emotional after what happened. We understand.” Spike admits.
“Can’t you guys just think about forgiving Discord for once?” Pinkie suggests.
Applejack looks down.
“We’ll think about it.” she snarls.
Soon, Spike catches up with Twilight and Fluttershy, as he tries to comfort Twilight that same Twilight is trying to comfort Fluttershy.
“If they were nice to him in the first place, he wouldn’t have made the choice to join Tirek at all!” Fluttershy weeps in anger.
Twilight sighs.
“I’ll admit it, you’re right.” Twilight said, “We were not supposed to be hostile with him after he reformed. WE were bullying him, and he bullied us back because of it.”
“But it’s too late now… I tried to teach Discord… and…” Fluttershy cries, “What if Celestia is right? What if I didn’t do good enough?”
“Celestia doesn’t mean that, I’m sure of it.” Twilight assures her, “She’s just trying to collect her emotions based on what happened. Just give her and the others time, I’m sure they’ll acknowledge Discord’s mistake. After all, what if it was prophesized? His mistake did help me create the castle of friendship and position my role as the princess of friendship after all.”
Fluttershy then smiles, realizing the benefit of that betrayal, even if it was bad. But before they talked about anything else, a burp from Spike came, and he receives a letter from Shining Armor instantly. His heart dropped, the next instant he read the letter.
“Twilight… Shining Armor said they found Discord. And he and the others took him to a hospital.” Spike tells her.
“Hospital?” Twilight asks.
“I… don’t want to explain what happened to you guys… but…” Spike said in nervousness.
“Let’s just get Celestia and bring the others.” Twilight said.
The hospital room.
Discord can’t understand why his suicide attempt failed.
Shining Armor was in the room with Braeburn, as the royal guards stammer and wonder why Discord would resort to this at the corner of the room. The doctors then surround Discord, yet they give him space. One then checks his pulse, and examines the injuries on his body.
Then, another doctor enters the room.
“Celestia and Twilight are coming.” the doctor said, “Along with their friends.”
“How are we going to break this to them?” the second doctor asks.
“I don’t know…” the first one said.
“We’ll stay here to watch Discord.” the third doctor said, standing by the fourth.
“Very well.” the head doctor nodded.
The first two doctors left the room, as Braeburn follows them. Before Shining Armor left, he walked over to Discord, moaning in sorrow as he feels the pain constantly again and again.
“I’m sorry I called you a monster…” Shining Armor wept, “Forgive me.”
As he left, the two doctors check Discord’s vital signs. Discord’s eyes blink… and he snapped his fingers…
With his force, he had the two doctors flying back towards the wall, having them crash and go unconscious.
“I want to die…” Discord said in sorrow, as he snaps to create several razor blades, “This is for you Fluttershy…”
As soon as they got the news that they found Discord, Twilight and her friends, along with the three princesses arrived at the hospital like Shining Armor told them.
“Why did your brother ask us to come to the medical center?” Rarity asks Twilight.
“I don’t know.” the purple alicorn said, “He said they brought Discord here though.”
“Probably sprained his ankle when he tried to run away.” Applejack sneers, as they now enter the hospital through the sliding doors.
“Enough.” Twilight said, “Let’s just stay calm as we confront him.”
Fluttershy breathes slowly, worried about how they’ll treat Discord. Yes, he hurt her, but that still doesn’t change the fact that he still loves her. After all, he did express how truly sorry he was when he said she mattered because she taught him the magic of friendship.
The group of ten then approach Shining Armor, as he just stands in front of then, with reddened eyes.
“Well?” Celestia asks.
“Discord… tried to commit suicide.” Shining Armor said.
The ponies and Spike were silent once they heard that.
“He already made SEVERE fatal injuries to himself.” Shining Armor wept, “I think it’s because he felt extremely guilty for what he’d done.”
“You’re… you’re joking…” Twilight said in disbelief.
“He’s serious…” a doctor pony said, approaching them, “Will… you follow me please?”
Twilight nods, and she and her friends follow the doctor and Shining Armor down the hall. They then come towards a door on the left, as Shining Armor opens it slowly to the room. The gang then becomes completely silent in terror, as they see Discord… cutting his wrists… with blood already oozing out from ten cuts he made on both arms. He then aims towards his neck.
“NO! STOP!” Fluttershy screams, as she dashes over to him and grabs the blades.
As she throws them onto the ground, Rainbow Dash flies over to Discord too, and looks at the condition he’s in. Applejack then rushes to give Discord a big hug, trying her best to soothe him. Twilight herself is filled with fear.
“Oh no.” Twilight said, wishing this weren’t real, “No no no no no no no…”
A ton of tears pour like a waterfall from Fluttershy’s eye sockets, as she hugs Discord tightly.
“WHY? WHY? WHY?” Fluttershy screams in tears.
“Did… did he do this to himself?” Rainbow Dash asks the doctor.
“I’m afraid so.” the head doctor replied.
This terrified the ponies even more.
They also noticed the doctors knocked out unconscious at the back of the room, as they got up and noticed that Discord already cut himself severely.
“Oh my dear…” one doctor said.
“We’re so sorry we didn’t stop him.” the next doctor said, “He used his magic to push us back, and…”
“Don’t apologize, you tried.” the head doctor sighs.
“How serious are his injuries?” Twilight asks.
“Enough to cause plenty of infections that can… kill him within hours…” the doctor answers.
The ponies whimper and cry in fear.
“So there’s nothing we can do?” Fluttershy asks in worried horror.
“Discord…” Celestia gasps, having tears fill up her eyes.
More doctors and nurses then enter the room.
“Please… LET ME DIE! I WANT TO DIE-HI-HI-HI!” Discord wails in never-ending tears.
“We need to give him anesthesia and put him under deep suicide watch.” the head doctor tells Twilight, the princesses, and her friends, “Please step out.”
As the ponies and Spike head out of the room, they can hear Discord scream in sobs as he kept yelling slurs towards himself.
“KILL ME! I SHOULDN’T EXIST! I’M A MONSTER! KILL ME!” Discord cries loudly.
At this point, Fluttershy drops to the floor, crying softly as hard as she could, her eyes reddening with horror.
“I know… I know he hurt me…” Fluttershy sobs softly, “But I still love him… why did he try to kill himself?”
The princesses and Twilight’s friends look down, as Spike weeps in sadness too.
“This is all our fault…” Rainbow Dash cries weakly, “We were antagonistic towards Discord, and that’s the very reason he made the mistake to betray us. He was misled by Tirek all along, and we still bullied him…”
“And… he was acting more mischievous before because we didn’t accept him as our friend at the very beginning.” Applejack said, “I… guess we were the bullies.”
All of the ponies and Spike look down.
“What can we do?” Pinkie Pie asks.
“I suppose we have to wait in the hospital for a while.” Princess Celestia decides, “We have to be there for him until we find out if he’s going to be fine.”
“I’ll… inform my guards and the Wonderbolts about this.” Shining Armor informs to his friends, “Including Braeburn.”
“I recalled him being angry for what Discord did to him.” Applejack said, “How’s he taking what Discord did after he saw him?”
“Horribly…” Shining Armor admitted, “He’s extremely guilty. Said to me before he left that… he wished he was in Discord’s hooves.”
Applejack and Twilight shudder, as the doctors pace by Discord’s hospital room. Twilight looks back at the door, hearing Discord crying less and then falling asleep as the anesthesia was put into effect. But… how will the aftermath further unfold after what he just did?
